We got some spoilers for the life series!

Impulse has been "method acting" because his character in the upcoming life series is salty. According to Gem, everyone is a bit salty this life series. Also, Mumbo did something to her? Not sure what, but we'll find out tomorrow! Impulse was apparently abandoned for about half an hour.

Fiddled with gradient maps this time for some additional colors :D I would have colored in the eyes as well, but I didn't have enough energy left when the event hit the 47th hour xD

Also played around with camera movements. Respect to people who do fan edits and other forms of video/ assets editing 'cause keyframes are so 😭

13 hours to draft storyboard this time! Last year I used 16 but with waaay more frames idk how I accomplished that. Probably bc this year I'm drawing more than three(3) characters lmao

Progress Timeline:

Designs I used for Lizzie and Joel (old art from 2022 and 2021 respectively) (holy shit i've been here for 3 years???)

I think most of the drawn parts didn't deviate from the initial idea. Mostly timing adjustments and building upon the vibes. The parts that were changed the most was the "And you caused it (×3 combo)".

Went from "vague flashbacks" to "following Etho and co. out of the cave and back to Scott's base while implying who Etho blames with single character focus shots".

The first one is Scott because he suggested the idea. Like, obviously he's to blame. It's not like Etho went along and cemented the deal himself. Scott totally peer-pressured him into it.

The second one is Etho because... well the scene ends up kind of being like. The sight of the Snow Fortress triggering a flashback. (EthosLab the content creator deliberately turned his camera towards the Snow Fortress and holds it there for a second instead of looking at the huge lava pillar right in front of him. What is WRONG with him.)

But also like. Clocks are kind of special to Bdubs right. Whoever gave him a clock basically has his (temporary) loyalty or at the least earned a favor from him. So like. If he hadn't gifted Bdubs the clock, which signifies a closer(?) bond, maybe Bdubs wouldn't be so devoted to him (wrong). Also serves as a call-back/ reference to the "Prayer-Determination" shot ("pray with clock" in the scene planning screenshot). I like to think that Bdubs weighted his options and thought about "if he will kill/ who to kill" a lot while following the other Red Names. And in that scene he's like, convincing/ motivating himself. Remembering who/ what he's doing this for.

(It is also meant to be part of my giftee's other prompt: "an exploration of the doubt one or both of them felt during the heart transfer that didn’t happen after Bdubs killed Lizzie, and the following guilt Etho felt." The Etho section starting from "we're setting fire to our inside for fun" til the end of the animatic is based on that prompt.)

After a brief period of self-blame, it's time to shift it onto someone else! Because you're in denial! If Bdubs hadn't gone red, then Etho wouldn't have to offer the deal. If Bdubs hadn't want to stay as teammates, then he wouldn't agree to the deal. If Bdubs wasn't so devoted to Etho, then he wouldn't have attacked Lizzie and gotten himself killed.

Then the animatic ends with the end of the session :D

LAST LIFE WAS HER FIRST EVER SEASON, THE SEASON ALL ABOUT MISSTRUST AND PARANOIA, SHE ACTS VERY PARANOID AT THE IDEA THAT THERE MIGHT BE A BOOGIEMAN.

PLEASE. LET ME CALL THIS LL TRAUMA. PLEASE 🙏🙏

It’s interesting that (before Wild Life is finished) the only two second-placers to not also be winners are Ren and Impulse.

3L- Scar was second place, won SL

LL- Ren was second place, hasn’t won yet (also missed 2 seasons so that could be a contributor)

DL- Scott is technically 2nd, and he won LL, but even if you count pairs as one, Martyn and Cleo have technically both won, Martyn in LimL and Cleo in RL, which is more debatable but Cleo was 4th while Martyn was 3rd so if you were to count only one of them it WOULD be Martyn anyways, but even counting Cleo you could argue she won.

LimL- Impulse was second place, hasn’t won yet. Also has his curse of being killed by the winners (other than 3L)

SL- Pearl was second place, already won DL

RL- I don’t really count Real Life personally but EVEN IF YOU DO Scott was second and won LL

So yeah… Ren and Impulse wins when… lmao

I was watching Last Life and Double Life animatics... When a huge head cannon came in mind.

What if this entire Life Series revolves around Scott?

(SPOILERS FOR THE FOUR PREVIOUS LIFE SERIES IN HERE)

In 3rd Life: Grian won.

This makes sense, he's a Watcher.

In Last Life: Scott won.

And the watchers made it clear that Scott was too powerful and too strong to be left alone. From then on, it gets even more interesting.

Double Life: Pearl wins.

Scott and Pearl were soulmates. They were bound together.

Limited Life: Martyn wins.

Scott and Martyn were the Mean Gills. They were bound together. (...also a Listener winning??)

It's strange how after Last Life, each person Scott partners up with, wins.

But it doesn't just start with Last Life. I believe this connects with the Canary Curse with Jimmy. After 3rd Life, and being Flower Husbands with Scott, Jimmy's been cursed with the vex of dying first in the Life Series. No matter if he's partnered up with Scott, the curse still carries and he still dies first.

The thing is... What could it all mean? Does that mean Scott has become a Watcher himself alongside Grian? Handing the crown to the player who befriended him (and in Pearl's case: soul-bounded to him)?

And could Jimmy's Canary Curse be the reprimanding of loving a Watcher when he himself is a Listener?

What do you all think? Am I reading into this too much? (Probably.) But I can't wait to see how Secret Life pans out.

Ranking the life series seasons (excluding secret life cuz it’s not finished yet) from worst to best through a completely unbiased lens

4th: 3rd Life. It was fun and all and set a fun precedent for arson in the future but Joel didn’t manage to get any kills and was kind of a side character the whole time

3rd: Double Life. It pains me to put it this low because it’s so good! Boat Boys 🔛🔝 the only reason it’s below second place is because it’s a bite sized season.

2nd: Limited Life. It was Joel’s worst performance placement-wise but even despite that he was still the star of the show fr! He had such a good run no matter how short it was. Lots of kills, great alliances and rivalries, so many good moments.

1st: Last Life. Joel was literally the main character and he got top 5!!! He completely made up for his zero kills in 3L by getting the most here!!! He slayed fr

So yeah that’s my completely unbiased opinion of what the objectively best seasons are so far thanks for listening

do you. do you think, in the nether, that mumbo was maybe so insistent on his deadly predicament being Grian's fault (despite it very obviously being his own, actually) because the last time they were together in the life series, his final death was Grian stabbing him through the chest?

are you also insane about the fact that in the end, mumbo's final death here, just like in last life, followed Timmy's death? that both of their final deaths were once again caused by Grian?
