A big part of the Haikyuu rewatch is watching the characters interact and worrying that I fandomized their relationships too much in my head, particularly with the Karasuno first years because Hinata and Kags keep Yamaguchi and Tsukishima at arm’s length for so long. But then I remember. Oh wait the squad is literally Hinata’s phone background by the end of the story. You don’t put a picture of just some dudes in your after school club as your phone background.

honestly i understand kindaichi so much like, imagine getting your selfish asshole of a teammate benched and you spend months confidently hating him, then the next time you see him again he's nothing like he was and is actually a team player who apologizes to his teammates and uses "we" instead of "i." like seriously i would've had a crisis too

Snorlax fits Kunimi, and I think he would have a battle style built around high defense pokemon and debuffs saving energy for more powerful strikes against weakened foes.

Borrowed the idea of Kageyama with a Riolu from the beloved mutuals, and Kindaichi's Electrike from a previous ask.

but Karrablast and Shelmet are where things get more interesting for me. I see these three as childhood friends, and as such they run around the forest in their hometown catching bugs, later after Kindaichi and Kunimi push Kageyama away Karrablast is still there as a little piece of what once was. When they finally make up they trade Shelmet and Karrablast, triggering their evolutions. (Kunimi gets one of the bug types that has a middle evo in metamorphosis probably, it's more internal for him imo)

wild rewatching the first episode of haikyuu cuz u see kindaichi and kunimi and ur like "it's the seijou babies 🥺✨️" but they really dont seem like important characters to start. they feel like random throwaway guys to show us how demanding kags is, and dont even get named till later, but theyre so important for kags's character arc. i will say this forever but furudate really is a great writer.

hi addie :3 i'm actually a big fan of the miyagi first years training camp friend group...i like to think that kogane starts a big group chat that hinata and goshiki use a lot, and kindaichi finds himself replying to it more often not, and hyakuzawa starts joining in, and kunimi and tsukishima might not be the most active members but they'll both reply to their friends. in particular i'm a really big fan of tsukishima and kunimi as friends...they're both really similar in how they react to kageyama and YET. they are on opposing sides of the net. kunimi and tsukishima are just so interesting to me.

when I mean quit traumatising me with thoughts about a volleyball manga, I meant it. What am I supposed to do with the knowledge that Hinata knew his weakness from the start and seeking individual growth (greed being a positive thing) doesn’t make him any less of a team player? Or that their extreme love for volleyball is what isolated them until they found each other? (or how entirely besotted Kageyama was with Hinata right from the start lmao) But really, reading your posts give me a greater appreciation for the manga and I didn’t even know that was possible! I really like that you love Haikyuu so much, that love is contagious and you make me like it more.

Dunno, personally I find it fun to inflict my brain rot on others. The joy of suffering together or whatnot.

As for what to do with it, you can always just spin all that around your head for eternity and spit it out in various ways the way I've been doing for like 2-4 years now. Or use it to extrapolate even more insane heartbreaking headcanons and aus. They're both fun!

Im glad that I make you love hq more because honestly, there's few things better than being able to share your love of something with someone else and when you can bond with other people over that shared interest. It's sooo delightful. And like personally, interacting and having conversations and talking at people makes me like it and think about it more. It's also the way that i flesh out my thoughts. Whenever I post something especially long on here, it usually because I talked about it recently to or at someone.

literally my favorite thing about seijoh is that in some way, shape or form all of them are kind of assholes

like with some of them it‘s more obvious (matsuhana, kyoutani, also kind of oikawa) and with others a bit less (watari, kunimi, yahaba, kindaichi). (Iwaizumi is kind of a grey zone), some of them are more of an asshole (oikawa, kyoutani, kindaichi lmfao, kunimi and matsuhana) and others less (iwaizumi, yahaba, watari) but either way it does become clear that they are all a little bit awful (and i say this with as much love as i can lmao)
