Kelly Hollan had an unexpected day off from kindergarten on February 12, 1982. Knotts County, Kentucky had been hit with a heavy snowstorm and school had been canceled as a result. After he ate breakfast, he begged his mother, Judy Moore, to be allowed to go out and play in the snow. Judy initially told him no; Kelly had asthma and she didn’t think it was a good idea for him to go out in such cold weather. Eventually she gave in to his pleas, though, and helped him put on snow boots and his heavy winter coat. After cautioning him not to leave the yard, she sent him outside at 11:00 am.
Judy made dinner around 6:00 pm and went outside to see if she could find Kelly, but he still hadn’t returned. She decided to eat without him. After she finished her meal, she walked to the home of Kelly’s friend and asked if Kelly was there. She was surprised to learn that Kelly hadn’t been there at all that day. What really happened to him and where is he now?

In London 1577, Henry Bynneman printed a book titled "The Gardeners Labyrinth: Containing a discourse of the gardeners life, in the yearly trauels to be bestovved on his plot of earth, for the vse of a garden : with instructions for the choise of seedes, apte times for sowing, setting, planting, & watering, and the vessels and instruments seruing to that vse and purpose : wherein are set forth diuers herbers, knottes and mazes, cunningly handled for the beautifying of gardens : also the physike benefit of eche herbe, plant, and floure, with the vertues of the distilled waters of euery of them, as by the sequele may further appeare. Gathered ovt of the best approved writers of gardening, husbandrie, and physicke." and written by Dydymus Mountaine [aka Thomas Hill]. As the title suggests, the book is about gardening, with extra notes about uses of medicinal plants, and compiles the work of nearly 30 authors of antiquity, including Cicero and Galene.
The title page has the signature "John Edwards of Stanstie" on it, but it is difficult to know which John Edwards the signature belongs to, since there are far too many persons in the area with that name and most of them are related. Stanstie (today spelled Stansty) is a town near Wrexham in the county of Debingenshire in the northern part of Wales.
In the same year the book was published, John Edwards of Stanstie (d. 1635) built an estate house called Plas Issa, and it’s possible that this book was bought for a library there or to facilitate the creation of a garden. His second-eldest son, also called John Edwards (b. 1612), was a court physician to King Charles I of England, and may have made the majority of the annotations in the book, since they primarily appear next to the parts about the medicinal uses of plants. There was a prominent family in the same area of Wales with the name Middleton, and Edward Howell Middleton could have gotten ownership of the book through this connection.
It is not clear how this book made its way to the National Agricultural Library or even the United States in general. The NAL doesn't have any information on the provenance of the book beyond that it was acquired sometime in the 1900s.
One of the most interesting parts of the book (in my opinion) are the "knottes" or knotted gardens, which were gardens planted in complicated and intricate designs. Below is an example of a few of these designs, which I am telling myself would not be something that I would be able to maintain in my yard, no matter how pretty it looks.

" School bus with 36 students on board shot up as man flees police in Delaware. "
Students on board a school bus was hit by gunfire during a gun battle and police chase that spanned a large part of New Castle County, Delaware on Friday.
"It was very scary for him because it was like, by the piece of metal that saved him," said Weems. "Any lower he would've got hit."
Parents picked up their teenagers and were clearly concerned about the close call.
"It was a scary experience," said Aleshia Boyce. "I hurried up and called him and said 'what bus were you on?' even though I knew he wasn't."
Superintendent Jones says he's never experienced anything like this in his 27 years.
He calls the bus driver's actions fast-acting and heroic.
"I just learned also that the driver will still run her afternoon route to assure students that this is a safe place," added Jones.
The bus is operated by a third-party company called Knotts in New Castle. Its owner says she thanks God no one was hurt.
The suspect then led police on a chase that ended on I-95 in Newark where he was ultimately shot and killed.
Now wait one cotton picking minute that man was exercising the second amendment rights. He had every right to shoot at anything anywhere anytime isn't that right NRA isn't that right Ted Cruz isn't that right Marco Rubio isn't that right Republican Senate.
Of course it isn't. And some of you people don't think we need red flag laws that we don't need common Sense gun control.
Wait until it affects you wait until your child has taken out by an AK-47 wait until your child's brains are splattered all over the wall with their blood. Wait until your child's head explodes and is unrecognizable by you or the coroner.
Hey America how safe do you feel sending your children on a school bus or sending your children to school now?
And it will happen again and again and again and nothing will ever be done on common Sense gun control.
But like I said it's like throwing mud on the wall some of it will stick and one of these days it will be a child of the anti-commonsense gun control person. Their child's brain will be splattered their child's head will explode with a high caliber bullet.
Does this shock you? Good it's supposed to.

Buena Park Realtor: A Comprehensive Overview
Buena Park, California, is a vibrant city nestled in Orange County, known for its rich history, family-friendly attractions, and its thriving community. Located near major metropolitan areas, Buena Park is a prime location for those seeking a suburban lifestyle with urban conveniences. For prospective homeowners or investors looking to buy in this area, the role of a Buena Park realtor becomes increasingly significant. This essay will explore the responsibilities of realtors in Buena Park, the local real estate market dynamics, the benefits of working with a professional realtor, and some tips for selecting the right real estate agent for your needs.
#### The Role of a Realtor in Buena Park
Realtors are licensed professionals who assist clients in buying, selling, or renting properties. In Buena Park, the role of a realtor extends beyond merely listing properties; they serve as guides through the complexities of real estate transactions. Their responsibilities may include:
1. Market Analysis: Realtors conduct extensive research on local market trends to provide accurate pricing strategies for buyers and sellers. Understanding factors such as property values, neighbourhood trends, and economic indicators is crucial for making informed decisions.
2. Property Listings: A significant part of a realtor’s job is to create and manage listings that capture the interest of potential buyers. This involves taking high-quality photographs, writing compelling descriptions, and utilizing various marketing platforms, including MLS (Multiple Listing Service), social media, and real estate websites.
3. Negotiation: Realtors act as intermediaries during negotiations, advocating for their clients’ best interests while maintaining professionalism and fostering positive rapport with all parties involved. Their expertise in negotiation can significantly impact the final sale price.
4. Legal and Regulatory Guidance: The real estate industry is governed by a myriad of laws and regulations. Realtors help navigate the legal complexities associated with buying or selling property, ensuring that all contracts comply with state laws and providing valuable insight into local zoning and land use regulations.
5. Networking: Successful realtors build extensive networks that include other real estate professionals, lenders, inspectors, and local contractors. This network can expedite the buying or selling process and enhance the overall experience for their clients.
#### The Buena Park Real Estate Market
The Buena Park real estate market presents a diverse range of opportunities, catering to various demographics and lifestyles. Influenced by its proximity to major Southern California attractions, such as Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, Buena Park has continued to attract homebuyers who appreciate both residential tranquillity and recreational access.
1. Housing Options: The city offers a variety of housing types, from single-family homes to townhouses and condominiums. This diversity allows buyers to select properties that fit their budget and lifestyle preferences. Furthermore, the availability of older homes provides renovation opportunities for those interested in investing in fixer-uppers.
2. Market Trends: As of recent reports, the Buena Park housing market has displayed resilience, experiencing fluctuations in home prices due to factors such as interest rates, economic shifts, and inventory levels. Understanding these trends is essential for buyers and sellers, making the guidance of a local realtor invaluable in arriving at competitive sale prices or purchase offers.
3. Community Features: Buena Park is well-regarded for its excellent schools, well-maintained parks, and strong community spirit. Additionally, the city hosts numerous cultural events and activities, fostering a sense of belonging among its residents. When marketing properties, realtors often emphasize these community features to attract potential buyers.
#### Advantages of Working with a Buena Park Realtor
Choosing to work with a professional realtor offers numerous advantages:
1. Local Expertise: Realtors who specialize in Buena Park possess in-depth knowledge of the neighbourhoods, property values, school districts, and local amenities. This expertise enables them to provide valuable insights that can influence buying or selling decisions.
2. Time Savings: The search for a property or the process of selling one can be time-consuming. Realtors streamline these tasks, managing showings, open houses, and paperwork, thus allowing clients to focus on other priorities.
3. Peace of Mind: Real estate transactions are often associated with legal and financial risks. A competent realtor helps mitigate these risks by ensuring that contracts are thoroughly vetted and that clients understand their obligations throughout the transaction process.
4. Tailored Support: Each client has unique needs and preferences. Realtors take the time to understand individual goals, providing personalized support and advice throughout the buying or selling journey.
#### How to Choose the Right Buena Park Realtor
Selecting the right realtor is a crucial step in ensuring a successful real estate transaction. Here are some tips to consider when searching for a Buena Park realtor:
1. Experience and Credentials: Look for a realtor with a proven track record in the Buena Park market. Credentials such as designation by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) or membership in local real estate associations can be indicators of professionalism.
2. Client Reviews and Testimonials: Research client feedback to gauge a realtor’s reputation and reliability. Online reviews, personal testimonials, and references can provide insights into the experiences of past clients.
3. Local Market Knowledge: An ideal realtor should demonstrate a strong understanding of the Buena Park market, including recent sales, pricing strategies, and neighbourhood dynamics. Ask potential realtors about their approach to market analysis.
4. Communication Style: It’s vital to choose a realtor with whom you feel comfortable communicating. Ensure that the realtor’s communication style aligns with your preferences and that they are responsive to your questions and concerns.
5. Marketing Strategy: For sellers, understanding a realtor’s marketing plan is essential. Inquire about the methods they use to attract buyers and how they plan to showcase your property effectively.
#### Conclusion
The role of a Buena Park realtor extends far beyond just facilitating property transactions; they are integral to navigating the complexities of the real estate market. With their expertise, community knowledge, and commitment to client satisfaction, realtors significantly enhance the experience of buying or selling a home in Buena Park. For those looking to make a move in this vibrant city, collaborating with a qualified realtor can make all the difference in achieving one’s real estate goals. Understanding the dynamics of the local market and utilizing the guidance of a seasoned professional are key to enjoying a successful and fulfilling real estate journey in Buena Park, California.

Formerly the headquarters of London County council which then became the Greater London Council. The building replaced what was the Metropolitan Board of Works. Designed by Ralph Knott it was started in 1911 and opened by King George V in 1922 and originally had orange sunshades. I remember Ken Livingstone using this building, which is opposite the Houses of Parliament, as a billboard against the Thatcher Government. Thatcher abolished the GLC in 1986. It is now an hotel and houses the Sea Life London Aquarium, Shrek adventure and London Dungeon.

Florida's Emancipation Day Celebrations Held Locally
Tumblr media
The African American Heritage Society of East Pasco County, Inc. and the Florida African American Heritage Preservation Network hosted the first annual Emancipation Day with a celebration at Agnes Lamb Park in Dade City on May 20. The activities honored traditions of the African American heritage. As for history, on May 20, 1865, General Edward McCook announced in Tallahassee, Florida, that all enslaved people were free. This was the first notice of the proclamation of freedom.  Florida Celebrates Emancipation Day on May 20 In contemporary times, folks hear about this as Juneteenth in other locales, but in Florida, the emancipation was actually on May 20. The Emancipation Proclamation ending slavery was delivered by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, in Washington, D.C.  Ironically the Civil War ended just a few days after the May 20th receipt. It is believed that President Lincoln’s actions altered the goals of the Civil War with the Emancipation Proclamation. Therefore, its delivery just after the Union’s victory at the Battle of Antietam was strategic. Historians also theorize that the proclamation would inspire many, especially the enslaved in the confederacy, to support the Union.  The Program Celebrates Florida’s Emancipation Day: May 20, 1865 Brockmann, Sara. Reenactors recreate a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation at the Knott House Museum in Tallahassee. 2015. State Archives of Florida, Florida Memory. The evening’s written program of the first annual event in Dade City stated, “in the month of May, we honor those intrinsic values related to natural rights and freedom as we proudly salute one of the most significant days in the annals of Florida’s History: May 20, 1865.” On January 1, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing enslaved people in the rebelling Southern states. More than two years later on May 10th, Union General Edward McCook arrived in Tallahassee. General McCook established his headquarters at the Hagner House, now known as the Knott House.  Fred Hearns, Curator of Black History from the Tampa Bay History Center, is seen giving the Keynote Address. Image courtesy of Facebook. Keynote speaker, Fred Hearns, Curator of Black History from the Tampa Bay History Center, explained the significance of the date to him and related that the event has been celebrated in Tampa for a number of years, as well as at the Chinsegut Hill Historic Site in Hernando County. Mr. Hearns conveyed that Tallahassee has been honoring Emancipation Day for many years. Hearns invited all to the Tampa Bay History Center's upcoming event on June 19, 2024, entitled “Fabric of Freedom.”  Fashion and Black history will collide at the “Fabric of Freedom” event, providing an innovative program, with more information available at the Tampa Bay History Center site at https://tampabayhistorycenter.org/blog/. The master of ceremonies for the evening was the Reverend Dr. Emery Ailes, President of Lifeline University. Recognition of dignitaries who also served as greeters included: Mayor Scott Black of Dade City, Stephanie Black, Executive Director of the Pioneer Museum, Madonna Jervis Wise, Educator/Historian/Author, Angela Lewis-Bennett of Branch NAACP #5630, Eric Theodore, African-American Heritage Society of East Pasco County, and James Walters, Dade City Chief of Police. All presented greetings, review of projects, and congratulations on the newly formed celebration.  Mayor Black announced that the City Commission would be delivering a proclamation to the group at the upcoming meeting. Madonna Wise spoke for herself, Stephanie Black, and the team who developed the Dade City Walking Tour: Mary Katherine Mason Alston, Margaret Angell, Stephanie Black, Britton Janning, James Walters, Melody Floyd, Wayne Sweat, Eric Baker, and Judge Lynn Tepper. Sixteen Stops on the Dade City Historic Walking Tour feature African American History Highland's Motors, part of the Dade City Historic Walking Tour. Image colorized and restored by Bill Price. Courtesy of his Facebook page. Madonna highlighted sixteen of the stops on the Dade City Walking Tour that particularly feature African American history and invited suggestions for additions. Madonna explained that the Dade City Self-Guided QR and Walking Tour was the brainchild of Alston and Angel, and the editing was expertly completed by team members, Imani Asukile and Judge Tepper. Angela Lewis- Bennett and Eric Theodore discussed the projects underway including scholarships and community projects.   A Perfect Reading of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation Emancipation Day Celebration image courtesy of Tampa Bay History Center. The culmination of the evening, which is customary across the communities for the day, was the dramatic reading of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation by several local dignitaries, aiming to foster a deeper connection to this pivotal moment in history. With perfect symmetry, each of the four readers recited a portion of the proclamation. The readers included: Mayor Pro Tempore Normita Woodard, the Reverend Dr. Brian Butler of Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, Mayor Scott Black, and Dennis Feltwell. With real conviction and perfect diction, the four readers presented emotional deliveries. Remarks were also given by Jesse Pisors, President of Pasco Hernando State College who praised the African American Society of East Pasco and the organizers for the important remembrances. He also brought greetings as the newly appointed President of Pasco Hernando State College from all three campuses.  Storytelling and Line Dancing in the African Tradition Conclude the Event To conclude the evening, the audience was brought back to two of the traditions of the African American ancestors which included storytelling and line dancing.  Windell Campbell came to the stage to tell two eloquent stories. Campbell is a retired schoolteacher of 41 years who has been awarded many accolades for his storytelling, including work with many Tampa Bay libraries and festivals. He performed a rendition of the flying Africans that is rooted in an African legend from 1803 about a slave woman and her baby in the cotton fields as well as a symbolic story of the ‘Selfish Giant’ and his garden as a beautiful metaphor of kindness and giving.  Storytelling was a traditional African American folklore for the enslaved.  The evening was concluded with a couple of rounds of line dancing, as the celebration ended with a sense of joy and hope. (By the way, the dignitaries and readers were pretty good at the line dancing!)  An image from the 2023 Florida Emancipation Day Celebration in Brooksville by Diane Bedard. Florida Emancipation Day is celebrated at Chinsegut Hill Historic Site Also On May 18, another Florida Emancipation Day celebration was held at Chinsegut Hill Historic Site. Fred Hearns led this captivating program alongside Gary Ellis, director emeritus of the Gulf Archaeology Research Institute, and Rodney Kite-Powell, director of the Touchton Map Library at Tampa Bay History Center. They uncovered the fascinating historical significance of the Hill. Michael Jones, Ed.D. shared insights into the local implications of recent archaeological findings, while Jesse Pisors, Ed.D., President of Pasco-Hernando State College, welcomed visitors to explore the historic house with complimentary tours offered by the college. This was followed by a Q&A session with Rodney Kite-Powell right after the presentations, followed by a 30-minute house tour! The first tour began at 11 a.m., with the final tour beginning at 4 p.m. The Tampa Bay History Center has made a concerted effort to bring knowledge and awareness of local history involving African American people to Florida’s Nature Coast. This is the second year that the Florida Emancipation Day celebration was held at Chinsegut Hill Historic Site. Read the full article

We are being Be Kind Asl Sign Language Kindness Cat Paws Finger Signs T Shirt (the majority of us humans), mostly by other humans. It’s simply too hard for me to be sure as to what ancient stories are actually true, but I suspect they’ve been at this a while. And slavery is a common thread in nature … Perhaps we can transcend this state some day. It will require among other things, awareness, compassion, courage, patience, and humility, but it’s otherwise a very simple problem to fix once we decide to, collectively.

The Party Bridesmaid Bride Babe 90’S Bachelorette Matching T Shirt My little formerly “ The Party Bridesmaid Bride Babe 90’S Bachelorette Matching T Shirt ” kitty ( rescued as a 7 month old kitten ) was my most loyal, comforting, protective companion during a year and a half of B- cancer surgeries, intensive chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. Naturally tender in nature, she NEVER left my side on my bed, in my bedroom, the entire time. She even lost weight alarmingly as she refused to leave my bed just to jump down to have her kibble, water, and wet food… so that I chose to put them on a tray ON my Queen sized bed! She THEN began to eat & drink properly, still being close to me as I rested & went thru recovery.

There his baby kitty sister was sitting, in the rain, not coming into the house. I called her, but she just looked at me, until I opened the door, and picked her up. Although she was purring madly, her leg was swinging oddly, and it was obviously badly broken. I pushed her gently into a basket, pulled my clothes on, and called for a taxi to take me to the emergency vet.
