Quick recap since I’m moving these over from X — this is my old ROTTMNT oc, Reggie Vega! She’s a human turned mutant raccoon who commits some minor criminal acts around the oc NYC with her new team (*cough cough* adopted dads *cough cough*), Hypno and Warren, as well as a few other villains from the show. She’s a part-time scavenger and full-time mischief-maker using her new powers to cause chaos.

(did I mention her tail is essentially a bag of holding from dnd?)

She does, as you may be able to tell, wind up making friends with the turtles! Well, all except for Leo since they just constantly butt heads (and he may or may not have a baaaaad feeling about her). Reggie and Raph, however, wind up getting along extremely well. Unfortunately for both of them, they’re kinda working on opposite sides.

Fast forward a few years and through some major personal growth (Aka THE MOVIE)— the two finally start dating. It’s a slow roll, but Reggie made the first move of the two.

Fast forward a bit more and you can see where I was inspired by @star-sparkler ‘s August because I just loved the idea of an AU kid, but obviously that would be tough with Raph and Reggie. So, with a bit of movie magic, hand waving, and a lot of science— we decided that we could mash some genetic codes together with science and magic to create…

✨KARAI “KARA” HAMATO✨

In this AU, Kara is August’s younger cousin. A result of Reggie and Raph asking Donatello if it was even possible, and him agreeing to try it. And thus, Kara was born (…er? Created???). She got her papá’s height, her mamí’s fluffiness, and a WHOLE lotta love to give.

Something I realized/headcanon rewatching TMNT 2012. When Karai goes in her war path against Shredder in the fourth season, it’s mostly said to her wanting (justified mind you) revenge, but I think it runs a bit deeper than that. Karai was raised in an environment where love and affection had to be earned and she had to be “worthy” of it. She also likely feels immense guilt for harming Splinter and her stepbrothers. I think her going after Shredder so hard was her trying to “make it up” to them

If I remember correctly that was actually stated in the show. Karai tells Splinter that she’s doing this so he’ll be proud of her, (something we actually see Shredder do to Karai in the earlier seasons with her doing everything she can to win his approval). Splinter dismisses her statement by telling his daughter that he’s already proud of her, but she still goes forward with her actions of revenge on Shredder because she’s convinced that justice must be served now.

Not to mention that Splinter even says that Karai’s need for revenge was something she got from Shredder not from him. A good example of nature vs nurture. Splinter (and even the Turtles) never wanted her to go on her path of revenge, but Karai feels that revenge is justified/needed for everything Shredder has done to her, her father Splinter, her mother, and her brothers the Turtles. 

Karai believes that she is the judge, the jury and the executioner all at once, blinded by her vendetta, that she cannot see it will take her and her family down a dark path of more suffering and pain .

Something that I think is kind of cute is how the moment Leo found out that Karai was a Hamato he accepted her as family.

Leo: Hey, so Gram Gram, it is Gram gram right?

Something that I kind of noticed was that Leo was one of the first people to call Karai 'Gram Gram' after Splinter had stated that Karai was his ancestor, meaning that Leo possibly possibly decided after learning that Karai was a Hamato, to treat her as family.

Mikey: I want to hang out with Gram Gram!

Splinter: No! Gram Gram needs her quiet!

Something that I also think is kind of cute is that the rest of seem to kind of immediately follow Leo lead & also start referring to Kara as 'Gram Gram' once Leo does, as Mikey & Splinter are both shown referring to Karai as 'Gram Gram' soon after Leo does. Which kind of paints the pictures of Leo going 'Karai's a Hamato, so she's family, so she's our Gram Gram' & the rest of his family instantly agreeing with him.

Sibling Showdown!!!

This showdown consists of 64 sibling sets facing off against each other, as well as a few one-off polls of sets who didn’t make the actual bracket but who I wanted to include in some capacity.  Polls will last a week.  Round One of section A will go live on April 16, with section B going live the day after, section C the day after that, and section D the day after that.

Propaganda is allowed!  I just ask that it be kept positive.  Argue for your faves instead of against someone else’s.  Every sibling set who made it in the showdown is there because someone wanted them to be, so keep it kind.

TMNT android AU

I’m supposed to be doing homework but my brain just exploded

I have been slowly but surely started to get consumed by a new, and I mean BRAND NEW, hyperfixation

Detroit: Become Human

For those that don’t know, DBH is an interactive game where the storyline changes with every decision you make, they give you a selective group of choices and the one you click on can change the whole thing. The story is about a futuristic world where humans have created Androids, robots, to help them in their everyday lives. So much so, that a lot of humans started losing their jobs because Androids were better at said jobs, which then made most humans become resentful towards Androids. Started treating them like slaves, beating them, breaking them, but the Androids started taking a mind of their own, started thinking for themselves, becoming Deviants, and rebelling against humans. There are three main characters: 

1. Kara: an android housekeeper/nanny, who upon becoming deviant, sets out to run away with the little girl under her care.

2. Markus: an android caretaker that makes it his mission to free all androids, starts the android revolution, and is the leader of said revolution

3. Connor: an android designed to hunt down deviant androids with the police department (and depending on if you press the right commands, he ends up becoming a deviant himself and aiding in the revolution)

The turtles are now humanoid androids that are becoming deviants :)

I have different thoughts on this depending on the iteration of TMNT

TMNT 2012:

Leo: he’s a caretaker android who is aiding Hamato Yoshi due to health problems, when Yoshi’s brother Oroku Saki breaks into the house to steal money from him, Leo wakes up and ends up accidentally hurting Saki, which causes him to get shot at by police and sent to be destroyed, but Leo survives and vows to free other android’s from more suffering and unfairness

Raph: an android used for illegal android fights, full of pain and anger, he gets violent with his owner, Xever, and runs away, finding the rebellion hideout in the process

Donnie: an assistant android, works for the O’neil family, slowly becoming a deviant and catching romantic feelings for one miss April O’neil, and later some feelings for a certain mister Casey Jones (that’s right people, capritello) due to him coming over to April’s house for tutoring often

Mikey: was a housekeeping android until the family he worked for grew tired of him and threw him away, damaged and lost, he gets help from another deviant named Leatherhead, and finds his way to the android hideout, becoming one of the first androids to follow Leo into the resistance.

Karai: she’s the android that was designed to hunt down other androids, but starts deviating from her program with each new case she works on

She then looks over and begins to smile as she loosens her guard. "Or she can teach you all a lesson."

Several shurikens are seen being thrown in the air towards the ninjas, taking a few out, but the rest got away. Standing on nearby rooftop stood Karai aka Miwa, daughter of Hamato Yoshie and ex-daughter of the Shredder.

She stood with her fellow Foot Soldiers as she appears with her sword in hand. "Yūmeina hando ninja. Anata wa ie kara tōkuhanarete imasu," said Karai in Japanese.

April is out on patrol with your muse when they ran into some trouble. Some mutants that were looking to cause trouble around the city. April fought against one of the mutants, while your muse fought the other. April begins using her telekinesis powers to lift anything heavy and attacks.
