How to Write a Cookbook
A cookbook is a recipe book that contains the best meals to be prepared in your kitchen. It may be all-inclusive and provide meal ideas for any time of the day. Countless breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and dessert options can be all in one book. The cookbook may be culturally specific to a particular region or country. Whether you want to make Italian, African, or Chinese cuisine, you can…

realized i never posted some little doodles i made of @narcissistcookbook and @bughuntermusic / @jammechanics. both based off tour and podcast art by the lovely DeepBlueInk.
if anybody got charms of the latter that I was giving out at the show, absolutely feel free to show me cause I would love to see where they all ended up!
#the narcissist cookbook#bug hunter#jam mechanics#art#trying to actually post on this blog more. one of my 30 blogs lmao#also for all of you who got the charm you can gawk at all the little details that dont show up well in tiny form#bonus fun lore: the statue head is of course supposed to be Papa Bug#and when making this i originally had Teddy be like a lil backpack but i wanted to balance out the bottom more#and then i had the thought of it'd be funny to give Teddy a knife and have them stabbing the rock#then the phrase ''Et tu Bug Hunter?'' popped into my brain and i simply just had to keep Teddy with a knife

Me: I'm color-coding it! [Explains system]
My sister: [chokes on a laugh]
Me: What?
My sister: Nothing, I was gonna say something but it's really mean.
Me: What is it? Like the suspected autism, or--?
My sister: No it's just, dude you're color-coding a cookbook. Get a job.
#b dylan hollis#baking yesteryear#job hunting#personal#autism#i showed her this post and she asked 'are you flexing that you don't have a job'#my response was 'no I'm flexing that I have this cookbook'#anyway the color coding is mostly by vibe. green for the extra-desserty. blue for the heavier less sugary stuff (usually with fruits)#orange for bread and yellow for 'I really dislike one of the ingredients but my family would like it'#pink is for Buckwild stuff and so far that only has the pork cake#Edit: just hit another Pink it's the chocolate sauerkraut cake

Underrated zosan: Sanji making a snack just for Zoro apparently?
#zosan#he's the only one with a snack!#not even Luffy!#not even the girls!!!#why just Zoro?#and before anybody suggests Sanji's feeding Zoro something gross:#yes. it is stale bread.#but it's fried and coated in cinnamon sugar.#at least according to the recipe in Sanji's cookbook

Honestly love this sight, learned how to make a onigiri and steamed pork buns from them. Always look there if I want to make a stir fry
begging anyone who wants to learn how to cook to go look at just one cookbook dot com
seriously they have more recipes than i could ever count, they have clear instructions, step-by-step photos, and videos for their recipes (occasionally there are typos but just use logic. if it says to add the meat to the meat when we were just cutting vegetables, it means ad the vegetables to the meat). everything i've cooked from there is great and i'm at the point now i don't even need to always follow the recipes exactly bc now i'm familiar with how the cuisine works. so so yummy and it's totally friendly if you know nothing about japanese food, there are posts on her blog explaining what different ingredients and techniques are and everything. great place for both beginners to cooking and beginners to japanese food

I did get called out by my therapist for blorbo crimes (nicely, she was very supportive and encouraging so this is largely a joke) over the fact that I made soup, bread, AND now meat pies this week, but you know what? I have soup, bread, and meat pies. And this is what's important. 😌
#her: is it more enjoyable to cook since it's from a cookbook related to a thing you like?#me (has specifically made xhorhas foods): .......maybe#tbf the bread is a king arthur recipe but I did make it to go WITH the soup#I have SO MUCH SOUP it actually filled EIGHT JARS#and ALSO tbf there was a meat pie recipe in the taldorei section iirc but the asarius one had instructions for freezing#which was EXACTLY what I wanted cuz I can get good frozen meat pies but the shop that makes them is farrrr#and grocery store frozen meat pies are. just nowhere near as good.#so I did in fact go with the asarius version.

Drew WWX and LWJ after I finished my rewatch of The Untamed a few months ago. I have gotten marginally better. May this set a benchmark for what to expect from this blog.

#Poorly Drawn MDZS#MDZS#wei wuxian#Lan Wanji#there are a lot of great artists in this fandom. I am not one of them#I've always admired artists a lot so I wanted to try learning how to draw#And the only way to start is to draw a lot. Enter the audio drama (and my desire to listen to it guilt free)#doing both at once was my way of participating in my own fandom#as much as I wanted to be super social on the MDZS forums...I honestly got really nervous#I have nothing to contribute besides going 'cool!' to other people's art#Writing and historical/theory posts. It kinda felt worse than isolation...#That aside...I am just here to dump my silly comics and I expect absolutely nothing to come of it#I'm blogging like that lady from that julia child movie. about the cookbook. I forgot what its called. this is just a journal to me

hey, don't cry. while the ramen water boils, add some shredded leftover meat or lunch meat and some spinach to your bowl. when you put the noodles in, add an egg, the whole spicy flavor packet, a tsp+ each of ground ginger and garlic, and a pat of butter. decide when the noodles are done with your heart and then add them and the broth to the bowl. okay?
#delicious flavorful and nutritious ramen#easy for adhd#adhd#yeah. my favorite meal to make.#just trust me on this one bro#a friend dubbed this “extravagant ramen” so thats what i call it lol#OR. i tried out the cheat tonkatsu recipe from the mxtx cookbook recently.#in your bowl crack an egg and add kewpie mayo then whisk. i didnt have that so i added regular mayo+rice vinegar#do everything the same except mix it up after you put in the noodles and the broth#ITS FUCKING DELICIOUS#i speak

Cooking and baking
A small pet peeve of mine with cooking and baking is when recipes say the container rather than the amount
Like, instead of saying "500ml of cream" you say "a pot of cream". Or "a whole can of corn". Like okay which kind of can??? What amount???? Corn comes in more than one size you can't just tell me a can. PLEASE i am begging you tell me the WEIGHT
This is especially a problem with recipes from different countries, for example America. Because your stick of butter is different to our butter. STOP SAYING STICK OF BUTTER TELL ME THE QUANTITY IN GRAMS PLEASE I HAVE A FAMILY
that being said I feel like I see this crop up in like american recipes in particular. Idk if I've ever seen a recipe in one of our cookbooks that does this....
anyway please just tell me the gosh darn weight I am dying here I have a family I JUST NEED TO KNOW THE WEIGHT
#ramble post#randy rambles#recipes#cooking#baking#'a stick of butter' is the worst for repeat offender i see that crap everywhere in american recipes#JUST SAY THE AMOUNT#like even if a recipe here uses 250g of butter (our butter is in 250g idk what size american butter is) IT SAYS USE 250G OF BUTTER#actually tbf i think butter size is not something thats like fully conventional cuz i just googled lurpack and it says that one is 200g#fun fact our butter isnt a long weird stick like americans. why is your butter like that that looks awful to get on a knife to spread#ours is still rectangular its just like more square#ALSO LIKE IDM CUPS. I have measuring cups that have cups AND ml. I WOULD GLADLY TAKE MEASURING IN CUPS OVER 'STICK OF BUTTER' 'CAN OF CORN'#also for the record what spurred this on is i asked someone for their recipe of something and half the stuff is quantified in this way.#'1 box jiffy cornbread mix' what the frick is that please i have a family#like no hate to them lemme be clear but also WHY ARE AMERICAN RECIPES LIKE THIS IM CRYING#i could be wrong that its just american recipes but i SWEAR ive never seen this in any of our british cookbooks but everytime i try and loo#up an american recipe online or ask an american friend for a recipe they give me quantities like this and im over here quietly dying as i#try and decipher what the frick they just told me to use. what is going on why are recipes there like this#(also idk if they do it for cream i just wanted to give an example that wasnt just can of corn or can of soup)#(SOUP AND CORN COME IN MULTIPLE CAN SIZES YOURE HELPING NOBODY SAYING JUST 'A CAN')
