Gonna go fall on my face as soon as the Supernatural section of Geeks and Needs for Harris is done but ngl, with Jensen Ackles deciding to join Misha Collins and all the others (Mark Shepard, Jim Beaver, Ruth Connell, Rob Benedict, Kim Rhodes, Curtis Armstrong, and Richard Speight Jr. are there)... and Jared Padalecki not being there is. Very very noticeable. 😅

Did Singer really do this? That wasn't just Day assuming this would happen? I remember after the big dust up when Shepard was let go he described Misha as aspirational at a con so I believe Singer did this to Misha but the other 2? When did Beaver and Day say these things?

Yes, and he did it to Mark Sheppard and Travis Wade too. All these actors were told that their characters were going to have very, very important arcs that effect the plots. Except Singer is the line producer, not a writer. And his wife is too much of a nepo-hack to write something coherent.

Jim Beaver tweeted (X) that he was coming back as a regular in season 9 because he was told his character was going to get resurrected from heaven. Except that wasn't the case, his character was a manifestation of Sam's subconscious in need of a guide for a single episode. Jim deleted the tweet and went on Facebook to apologize for misleading the fans.

There are two interviews by Felicia Day that I am aware of. First, she said she argued with Singer the day Charlie's death scene was being filmed, trying to convince him not to kill off her character and kept pointing at the prop window and saying she's small enough to fit through the window and escape the killers. Years later Felicia said in another interview how she was called into a meeting with WB and she thought she was getting promoted to regular but instead was told her character will be killed off. This must felt like a punch to the gut because 1) Singer let her to believe her character is important enough to be vital to the plot 2) it was Singer's wife who wrote the episode where Charlie dies, and finally 3) Singer himself directed the said episode.

Fandom (and Jensen) joked that Misha is always making promises that he can't keep. Where did you think Misha learned it from? Hint: he's Robert Singer's pet. Why else did you think writers were always having characters say Castiel was the Winchesters' pet.

As someone who has been attending supernatural conventions since 2013, I just have to say that people who have been watching SPN or attending conventions only since after Covid have NO IDEA what it used to be like.

Just a few things that still effect how i act at conventions that people need to understand:

You could not ask ANY question that even hinted towards Destiel, (volunteers would ask you to tell your question and say if you could ask it or if you had to ask something else)

If anyone was brave enough to try they were booed, and OTHER FANS blamed them if an actor didn't give a 'perfect' answer, and were told 'see that's why you shouldn't ask that,'

there was a wall between Fandom and the actors, and people were attacked if they dared to try to break it down.

I was warned by another fan not to tell anyone that i shipped Destiel at one of my first conventions, that it was for the best. (i was 19, they were trying to look after me)

I once asked Mark Shepard a question about Dean/Crowley friendship and he turned it into a shipping question, and I was told by other fans that i shouldn't have asked that.

Misha was who started to make people feel comfortable (going back far enough Sebastian too and he was blackballed from conventions for a while) (I would also say that Mark S helped too)

I have amazing friends from my first convention, friends who have literally saved my life, but i still can't mention Destiel or even being a Misha fan to them because they are old school 'two brothers' fans.

Despite what it seems conventions are still very much attended by older straight women who use Jensen and Jared as their fantasy so it can make it very hostile to queer fans.

And as an addendum to the above, people still want the same men to keep attending cons rather than adding new women guests because they don't want pictures with them. (I hate this so much as there are SO many of the SPN women i want to meet- this effects conventions outside the US rather than ones within)

Basically I am saying, i am so glad that things are being more open, but you CANNOT make judgements about how 'older' fandom members act because you don't understand the trauma that still effects how we act. Don't get me wrong I love that I have spent over ten years attending conventions and it's still my happy place, but there are things you can only understanding if you've been in the fandom for that long and have seen changes that are now taken for granted.

Minnesota was sold as an every other year con. Indianapolis was, too, landing in 2024 after being sold year before last under the SPN and other J2 projects banner. The papers all list it as such. In other words, re-ups were promised J2 and Walker cast, even if most were dual-show actors (TW/Smallville for the JA side.) Now Indianapolis not only failed to do Walker under this new stripped down show, but they failed to have Jared. I personally think there should be a lawsuit filed. Indy, Minn both

If certain actors were promised when people paid for their tickets, then they certainly have a case to at least get a full refund due to false advertising. But, I imagine that Creation has fine print that indicates the guest list may vary and that no actors are confirmed at the time of purchase (even though all of their overt advertising may make people think otherwise). And technically, now that SPN actors are in The Boys, they can still claim it's SPN cast and other J2 projects since Jensen was in The Boys. And technically Mark Shepard was in Walker: Independence, so I suppose he would count as other projects as well. I'm sure Creation builds in 'outs' like this to avoid lawsuits or even refunds.

1- The Brat Prince, Himself- The one and only Vampire Lestat, and yes, I'm using Tom Cruise bc I haven't seen the new show yet, but of literary media- Lestat deLioncourt shall always and forever be my number one. He has been with me since I was 12 years old and shall never leave ever for any reason. the end.

2 - Jack Shepard from LOST. Now, I know what you're thinking- he kinda sucks, and yes, yes he does. but honestly, beside Hugo- they ALL kinda suck. And since the pilot, I have always felt very connected to Jack and his struggles with life and death and good and bad. He's just my main guy, OK? Get off my back about it and help me move this giant wheel thingy...

3- Rory Williams, The Last Centurion, and Greatest Companion- Doctor Who. He just... He is me in any and all magical/epic/adventure situations and I can't get around that. And he's adorable and so loving and just the utter best.

4- Roger Sterling - Mad Men. One of the greatest sonsofbitches ever. He drinks like I do (martinis), he's cool and sexy like I am. He's sophisticated and tired. Just like me. lol

5- Ryan O'Reilly - OZ. Just watching this for the first time but I am 1000000% in and He is just so incredible. I can't even explain it but I'm hanging onto the hope that he makes it out alive. lol

6- Shawn - The Good Place. Really, it's everyone from TGP and I can't really choose, but I just adore Marc Evan Jackson, so I went with him. lol

7- Quentin Coldwater - The Magicians. He just... We are the same person, and if you watch the show, you'll understand me and what I mean. He is my heart.

8- Link Neal - GMM - Look, I just think he's sexy and kind of an asshole and I dig that accent.
