God I hate the creeping realization that's im built to be alone. I hate thinking and sitting with my feelings and knowing without a shadow of a doubt actually that I'm fucking doomed by the narrative and my own heart to want what I'll never comfortably be able to have because I'll never truly be comfortable with receiving love the way others want to give it, or giving love to others in the way they truly need. That I'm too selfish and sensitive and paranoid and toxic to truly be loved and love in a healthy way.

Not that "no one will love me" crap because I know I can pull a man. I've done it so easily every time because I know exactly what to be for them and it turns on instinctively in a instant, without me even trying or knowing or seeing it happen. But I can FEEL it happen. And it sucks because it makes me do things I don't like and become a very different person just to appeal to a guy and get him infatuated with me in three dates (which is what always happens because I am charming and interesting and hot and a delight to be around), I'm just no good at actually following through with anything. It's not that I won't find someone, it's that the only way for me to find a keep someone would be to fake it for the rest of my life. Fake being interested in cuddling and kissing and sex, fake being emotionally vulnerable, fake being a good stable person, he'll even fake being interested in another human being, probably. I'm generally too self focused to even ask my friends how their day went, and you want me to talk to a guy EVERY DAY? Never.

And therein lies the problem. I'm so selfish and lazy and stupid and emotionally stunted and repressed that I'll never be able to truly be open with and pay attention to someone the way they deserve, and the way I would if I really loved them. So basically I'm incapable of love, or of loving anyone back.

And that sucks to realize because I wish I was. I feel desire- I get crushes and want to be with a nebulous Someone. I want to love someone enough to marry them. I want to find someone to be my best friend and life partner and take care of them and be cared for in return. But it's simply not meant to be.

I'm 1/4 ways done with my life. If it was meant to happen by now, it would have already. Or at the very least I would have dated more Wrong Guys in my quest to find the right one.

But no.

At this point if it hasn't happened now, it never ever will.

I’m going to bed now so I won’t be making a bigger post for at least several hours but the first morning reports im seeing after the carpet-bombing of north Gaza last night are horrific. The bombing continues into this morning, particularly in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City. In addition to the carpet-bombing, sources are saying IOF troops committed torture and mass execution within at least one school sheltering displaced people. Obviously I will update with more information when it arrives.

Player recommendations for the bye week

The Penguins began their annual bye week on Sunday, Jan. 28, which leads into the All-Star break. That means Pittsburgh won’t return to game action until Tuesday, Feb. 6, when they host the Winnipeg Jets at PPG Paints Arena.

A number of the players shared their recommendations for books, shows, and podcasts to help pass the time over the next week-plus until hockey is back, with some adding commentary to their picks. I tried including where you can stream the shows, but if you aren’t subscribed to the service I listed, I would do some research to see if it’s accessible elsewhere. Enjoy!

Marcus Pettersson: When We Were Kings podcast; and “I go through a lot of shows. I feel like there's a lot of different ones that catch my eye, but I like more sci-fi or fantasy. Like the new Lord of the Rings show, I watched… the new Game of Thrones, I've watched… and the old Game of Thrones, all of those. I watched a show early in the summer called Silo on Apple TV+. It's a really good one.”

i could've called this one "jackdaw & hyde" but i didn't so really you should be thanking me

this one's been in my head for a while but has been executed so poorly. its supposed to have the proportions of like a chubby lil sparrow and be a fiendish little critter who is up to no good. if you can't tell, it is black and white, parted down the middle. think ENA.
