You know, sometimes I wish they didn't make Poe so...important with so much potential.
It just seems like they started off making him important to the plot and storylines, but then they change their minds.
-Poe's parents are main characters in Shattered Empire and Luke gives Shara a Force sensitive tree and Poe has a chapter in Before the Awakening- Oh, wait, never mind, we're killing him off.
-Oh, wait, never mind, he's gonna be a main character.
-Poe is a legacy rebel character- oh wait, never mind, he used to be a spice runner
-Poe/Finn for the win- oh wait, never mind, we're introducing an old girlfriend
-Oh wait, never mind, the ex-girlfriend doesn't like him that way and was abusive towards him in Free Fall
-He's calm, cool, collected, and mature, and doesn't need to be told everything in TFA- oh wait, never mind, he's a hot-headed military maverick who DOES need to be told everything.
-There's a small chance of him appearing in The Mandalorian- oh wait, never mind, each season takes place different years. If he was going to appear, it would have been in season 2, so nope! (This was just a theory/wish of mine. Nothing official was said. But still...)
-Poe's parents had a storyline in the main Star Wars comics, and the Empire knows about Poe (Commander Zahra uses [a picture of] Poe as leverage against Shara to talk. Oh, wait, never mind, it's not that important. It's just for shits and giggles, and Shara dies a depressing and lonely death in space of bloodburn in 10 ABY
I mean, to be fair, they did that to Rey and Finn, too. She's a secret Kenobi- oh wait, never mind, she's a nobody. Oh wait, never mind, she's a Palpatine. Finn will be a Jedi- oh wait, never mind, he's a janitor who screams "REY!" every five seconds. He's in love with Rose- oh wait, never mind, he has a crush on Rey. Oh wait, never mind, he likes Jannah now.
They did that more with Poe, though.
Seriously, though, what is the freaking point in adding all those interesting plot threads (Force tree, Shara's death, Zorii) if they're just not going to use them?!
I wonder what the next aspect of Poe's life they're going to change their minds on.
-Poe's ring necklace used to be his mother's. He wears it in hopes of giving it to his partner one day- oh wait, never mind, it's a silly souvenir from the Ring of Kafrene?
-Poe argues with Rey all the time and doesn't like her that much. Oh wait, never mind, he's secretly in love with her?
...Actually, I wouldn't mind that last one...

 ‘Ship Bias’ {curious about your top five!}
send 'ship bias' and i will tell you up to 5 of my preferred ships for a muse !!
elain archeron. - azriel. i know that it's a point of contention for the fandom, but i think az and elain choosing each other despite all odds is something i really love. they're passionate and they developed a tentative friendship even before she was turned fae, and i loved watching her fall in love with him. - lucien vanserra. he's her mate, he's trying to be good to her. they've got a long way to go to reach communication that works for them, but they can work. - eris vanserra. i'm not remotely sorry about this, and i blame @alicxnte almost entirely for this being one of my ships. i love them together, i love their passions. - dorian havilliard. think of how cute this is?? crackship gone wild, and i fucking love elain as queen of adarlan. - ruhn danaan. another crackship where she gets to explore that wildness and freedom that ruhn would offer her. daenerys targaryen. - robb stark. i just... always loved the king in the north with the queen in the east. it's one of those things that has just always resonated with me, and i wish they'd have gotten to meet and learn of one another. - jon snow. i prefer him to be a son of stark and not a targaryen, as i still believe aegon is young griff. so in those instances, i believe they would be a good match. - daario naharis. precious daario who loves her so dearly, who truly would keep picking flowers for her and loving her no matter what. - sansa stark. i love me some queen loving and they would have been an unstoppable duo. - margaery tyrell. like the above, i think dany and marg would have literally taken westeros completely by storm. it's beautiful. rey kenobi. - ben solo. i'm not ashamed of being a filthy reylo, and i have and always will have it as my primary ship for rey. i am especially fond of tlj reylo more than tfa/tros, but that's pretty typical. - finn. they're just *so cute together* and i love them to pieces. i am pretty convinced that finn leans gay but i think he and rey are just... so soft. - poe dameron. in the right circumstances, poe and rey are super cute. - jannah calrissian. i looooove jannah and rey is very gay for her. very gay. - rose tico. cute little engineer ladies being cute and engineery. bryce quinlan. - connor holstrom. i loved connor from the moment i met him and bryceconnor is one of the softest most precious things i ever experienced and i wanted more of them. SO MUCH MORE. - danika fendyr. they're the image of "friends to lovers" pipeline and it deserves more recognition for it. - aidas. the pretty pretty prince of hel has always been fascinated by bryce and she has been fascinated right back. - hunt athalar. mostly from hosab, bc in hoeab i'm still cross at him. she needs time. - tharion ketos. look at them!! look at them!! merboy was so cute and he sent her an otter! padmé amidala-naberrie. - sabé/tsabin. their closeness and care for one another is transcendent and i love them so deeply. i am especially fond of aus where padmé lives. but they have been through so much. - obi-wan kenobi. having them raise luke and leia together is one of the softest verses i have and i really love them. plus... obi was so pretty, how could she not? - dormé. they are so close to one another in their young adult years. she's so loyal.

Sequel to this post, which detailed the three versions of Star Wars Episode IX that we had when Colin Trevorrow was attached to the project: Duel of the Fates, the revised version of Duel of the Fates following Carrie Fisher’s passing, and Jack Thorne’s treatment (and this isn’t even counting Trevorrow’s initial vision that involved Luke and Leia vs. Snoke, which even before Carrie Fisher died was rendered unusable by Rian Johnson killing off Luke and Snoke in Episode VIII). I gave my thoughts on those, but what about The Rise of Skywalker? What about all the versions that it went through before the one we got in December 2019?
Here’s an outline showing the process after J.J Abrams and Chris Terrio came on board:
Sep-Dec 2017 - Loose concepts of “what do you want to see in the finale to the Skywalker Saga” from Abrams, Terrio and the art department gradually coming together into a wobbly narrative based around themes of self-determination and “recycled trash” saving the day. Character arcs and outcomes were settled upon at this stage, as was the fact that somehow Palpatine returns and masterminded the events of the trilogy. Rey’s lineage, on the other hand, was not yet decided, with Abrams even considering just leaving her as a “nobody”.
By the middle of December, Abrams finally had a story to pitch Bob Iger, who approved it.
Jan-Apr 2018 - Pre-production officially began with a specific story in mind. Key details that differed from the final product included the existence of an Oracle that guided Kylo Ren to Palpatine who resides beneath the Jedi Temple in the ruins of Coruscant, a giant serpent that Rey encounters and heals during her training on Ajan Kloss, Kijimi at the start of the film as the location Poe and Finn learn about the Final Order, constructing a special piece of technology known as the “Sabotage Brick” being the central McGuffin, Pasaana being a swamp planet where an old blind ship-maker from Rey’s past resides as well as the old spice runner gang Poe belonged to which is led by a male alien, Lando running a space convoy and giving the heroes the tip-off to go to the ruins of the Second Death Star, Jannah potentially being Finn's long-lost sister, the final battle taking place on Coruscant and a huge Star Destroyer factory station nearby, and Matt Smith playing the young, restored Palpatine.
I feel like this, like the Jack Thorne treatment, would have been fine. The biggest problem, beyond Abrams still waffling on Rey’s heritage hence her grandmother who could easily be made a Kenobi, a Palpatine, or nobody in particular at a moment’s notice, is that it doesn’t feel like it connects enough with the larger saga. It’s just a take on Dark Empire with a lot of focus on the military conflict and characters’ personal baggage, but not on the ongoing battle for balance in the Force fought between the Jedi and the Sith which is the saga’s core thread.
May-Jul 2018 - The shooting script is composed during this timeframe and we get more changes. The Oracle is removed from the story but then later restored, the hidden Sith planet of Exegol is now Palpatine's lair and the special dagger and Wayfinder connected to it are the central McGuffins, characters such as Ochi of Basoon, D-O and Babu Frik have been added, Pasaana is a desert planet that both Lando and the snake Rey heals have been moved to, Kijimi is placed in the middle of the film and Poe’s old gang - now led by the human female Zorii Bliss - have been relocated there, Jannah is Lando's long-lost daughter rather than Finn’s sister, and Matt Smith is ultimately removed in favor of keeping Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine’s sole portrayer. Interestingly and frustratingly, it was only during the last stages of principal photography, around January 2019, that Abrams finally got the full go-ahead to make Rey into Palpatine’s granddaughter, a factor that he and Terrio wanted from the start.
The finalized version of this story, while certainly messy, is my preferred version of Episode IX and the one reflected in the novelization. It really does do an excellent job at tying the Sequel Trilogy together with the rest of the Skywalker Saga in a smart, emotionally resonant way.
Unfortunately....
Aug 2018-Nov 2019 - As you might have gleamed from how long it took to approve Rey’s lineage, production on the movie was troubled, particularly in the realm of editing. With three months less to edit than he had on The Force Awakens, Abrams was forced to have the movie edited as it was being filmed. The Oracle got removed again despite the whole sequence having been filmed, certain scenes were cut down even at the cost of removing info like Palpatine being a clone and Lando having a daughter that was kidnapped in her infancy, a few scenes had their order re-arranged while other scenes like several at the Resistance base and Chewie being tortured by Kylo Ren were removed altogether, a few plot/character beats were reworked in reshoots such as Rey’s interaction with the ghost of Luke Skywalker, Babu Frik was cheaply pasted into a shot in the climax just to clarify he survived Kajimi’s destruction after Steven Spielberg freaked out about it (yes, really!), and overall the film became structured as a classic thrill-ride in the mold of the Original Trilogy, where you’re not supposed to think deeply about it and just enjoy how it makes you feel.
And look, I love that thrill-ride! The finished product is still something I cherish and enjoy returning to. But I still wish we got the version that the novel reflects. An old-school thrill-ride is all well and good, but the end of a 42-year old film saga deserves more breathing room. Marvel got to have that with Avengers: Endgame that same year; why couldn’t Star Wars?
.....Hey.  Hey, Disney.  You ever think of someday doing a Special Edition re-release? ;P

They can finally tell their story to the galaxy and have them learn of the bravery and the pain that the clones went through to save them from any harm. It doesn't matter if it's fifty years later. But things are not all that they seem as Rey embarks on her quest and tests the dangerous limits of the Force.

Hello There! (General Kenobi is the correct response)
Hey! I'm Daisy. Welcome!
My fandoms are all listed on my homepage, but I'll probably be heavy on the Star Wars and AOS content! I also do a lot of art, so I may post some of that too.
Here's some projects I'll be working on:
Cute little reylo high school AU, featuring Rose, Jannah, Poe, Finn, and Hux in addition to Rey and Ben. It started as a comic, so there might be some art coming along with this one!
AOS, but it's canon to the MCU. This started as a movie script, but I might be typing some of it up as an actual story... It's FitzSimmons centric, but should have all of the faves!
Annnnnnnd that's it! For now, at least.
Have a wonderful day!

The grandchildren time travel to TCW and now the 20 something anakin has a gaggle of children to look after whilst being questioned by the council. P.s, I do know there is one on AO3 about anakin solo time traveling back, but its incomplete.
Anakin Skywalker has never felt so overwhelmed in his entire life.
Because not only have his and Padme’s five grandchildren shown up from the future, ranging between the ages of four and eleven. Oh no. Not only that.
But There are two little girls, one six and one five, who have thrown themselves at Obi-Wan happily shouting “Grandfather!”
“Discuss this...predicament, we must,” Yoda says, as the youngest child - her name is Beru - plays with his ears. “Grandchildren, you are not supposed to have, either of you.”
“I am sorry, Master Yoda,” Obi-Wan says, even as he holds the two girls close to him, cuddling them while trying to look like he isn’t cuddling them. “I don’t really know how this happened.”
Meanwhile, one of the younger boys has climbed up, using Anakin for a piggyback ride. “I’m with Obi-Wan. I have no idea how-”
“Yes, because playing dumb has always helped you in the past,” Mace cuts him.
“Master Windu,” one of the little boys says, deeply earnest, tugging on his robes. “Master Windu, my name is Ben Solo and I want you to teach me everything you know about the Force.”
Mace blinks down at him, and then at Anakin. “I’m not certain whose nightmare this is. It might be mine.”
“I think they’re quite charming,” Plo Koon says as he lifts little Beru into his arms.
“You would,” Obi-Wan accuses.
“Masters,” the oldest boy says, wringing his hands. “I’m not sure how we got here. We’d like to go home as much as you’d like us to go home.”
“Sit you will,” Yoda says. “Tell us all you know.”
“But Master,” Anakin says quickly. “You’re always saying that it’s dangerous to know the future.”
“I know the future!” the little boy hanging onto Anakin’s back says.
“And what is your name?” Mace asks.
“I’m Anakin but everybody calls me Nik, and this is my Papa,” the little boy says, holding Anakin tighter. “And where we’re from Mr. Palpetine is a very bad man who did very bad things and he tried to do something with clone chips but also, can I see the Jedi Archive? I got to see it once but i wanna see what it looks like right now.”
“We’re not telling you anything else,” The oldest girl says firmly, shoving what is likely her twin out of the way. “You’re going to help us get home. We’re going to pretend that this never happened. Do you all understand me?”
“Oh, Anakin,” Obi-Wan admonishes.
“What did I do?” Nik asks, quizzical.
“He was talking to me,” Anakin whispers to his future grandson. “Because your sister acts very much like your grandmother, and it is very easy to tell who I’ve married.”
“Ooooooh,” Nik says.

I designed some outfits for my TROS rewrite since I did a few for the OG trio and for Kylux. This took me about a week to do, but overall I’m really proud with how these turned out.

Stories from a Secret Garden
Collab with @jinkouuart for @codywanweek day 6, fairytale! Be sure to check out her amazing companion piece!
Cross posted on AO3
Rey will be the first to admit that Finn and Poe's kids are great. They're smart, funny, and respectful. They don't fight and they know how to clean up after themselves. Her friends are great dads; that's evident every time she babysits.
The one problem is bedtime.
The minute she remotely mentions the b-word, all hell breaks loose. Damrus starts begging for one more round in his game. Shara hides in the cupboard. Leia tries to negotiate. Even Annihea, who is too young to understand a word anyone says, starts wailing. The babysitter is supposed to love bedtime; Rey can't help but detest it.
Tonight is no different. Damrus sulked as he brushed his teeth. Leia hugged her teddy and demanded a thirty minute delay. She had to drag Shara out of her hiding place. Even Beebee seemed upset with her. Beebee is never upset with anyone.
"My final offer is twenty more minutes," Leia stated, holding out her hand.
"Or," Jannah, her co-babysitter for the evening, said, "you can get in bed now and Auntie Rey will tell you a bedtime story."
It was like those four words flipped a switch. The kids perked up and hurried to their bedrooms. Rey looked at Jannah, stunned. "Why did you say that?!" She whispered, "I can't tell stories for the life of me!"
Jannah shrugged and continued to rock and feed Annihea. "It always works when I have to watch them."
Rey put her hands on her hips. "You, my love, are an excellent storyteller. I, on the other hand-"
"Will be fine," Jannah interrupted, "if you can't think of one, use a story from your life. They're only going to be awake for half of it; no need to panic if you aren't the next Emily Dickinson."
Rey still frowned. "Why can't you do it?"
"Because this baby is almost asleep and there's no way I'm risking waking her up." Jannah moved the bottle to the table and shooed Rey off to the bedroom.
The brunette flipped her girlfriend off before calling the kids to Damrus's bedroom. The three sat in the eldest's bed and eagerly waited for their aunt to begin.
Rey sat across from them and smiled awkwardly. "What story do you want to hear?"
"Princes!"
"Knights"
"Dancing!"
Shara and Leia shouted their ideas one after the other. Damrus simply shrugged. "I like flowers," he mumbled.
An idea came to Rey's head quickly. "Okay, here goes.
"A long time ago, in a kingdom far, far away…"
                                                      ♤♡♤♡♤♡♤♡
It really doesn't surprise Cody to learn the prince is missing.
Everyone was frantically preparing for that night's dance. Soon, dignitaries were arriving from all over to meet the king to be. In a few short months, Prince Anakin would formally take his late father's place as monarch of their young country. Cody wasn't concerned: he'd seen the young man grow into a fearless and noble ruler. He didn't have the most conventional way of doing things, but Cody had to admit his methods were effective.
Most agreed that Anakin would settle down and conform to tradition once he was married. Cody thought that was ludicrous; marriage wouldn't change Anakin's foundation. Regardless, a dance was being held with the secondary hope of finding a spouse for the future king. The young man must have hated the idea as much as Cody if he'd been missing since dusk.
Good luck finding him, Rex, Cody thought to himself. At least my prince isn't missing.
He walked the cobblestone path to a small, secluded place in the Queen's Garden. The sun wouldn't be up for another hour, but the humidity was already uncomfortable. He hated being outside in his formal wear. The armour encasing his legs and right arm made him sweat. The straps on his shoulders made certain movements difficult. The white uniform underneath was thick and stiff. His sword was positioned in an unfamiliar way. Cody understood that it protected and looked better than his usual outfit, but the dance wasn’t for hours! Did he have to wear it now?
He would only endure this discomfort for one person. That person was currently sitting on a bench and rereading the same book for the fifth time. Cody would never understand why- he already knew all the words by heart.
Cody was sent to retrieve him for some final inspection, but he couldn't help but take a moment to admire the prince's beauty. The long cape was swept into his lap, creating a pillow for his book. The golden shoulder plates and buttons glistened under the lamp light. The tailor must have modified the suit recently; Cody didn’t recall ever seeing the golden accents on his right leg and left sleeve. He also couldn’t help his slight jealousy: the prince’s outfit looked much more comfortable than his own.
"If you stand there any longer the birds will mistake you as stone", the prince said, interrupting Cody's thoughts.
He smiled slightly. "I was allowing you to finish."
"Hm, yes," Obi-Wan turned the page of his book, "and I am oblivious to the fact Anakin is currently with the Queen of Naboo."
"Ah, well…" Cody cleared his throat. "The Duke has requested your presence in the ballroom. He would like your opinion on some things."
Obi-Wan met his gaze, amusement twinkling in his blue eyes. "It is a shame I cannot be found, then."
"Yes, Sir, it is."
They shared a smile before Obi-Wan stood. He put his book in the bench's hidden compartment. How the prince managed to find these hidden places, Cody would never find out.
He looked back at the Knight and smiled. "Would you care to escort me around the garden before I must see the Duke?"
Cody offered his arm. "It would be an honor, Your Highness."
Obi-Wan took his arm and they began their stroll. It was easy to get lost while surrounded by the beauteous flowers. The path diverged into three different sections: one leading to the castle, one to the stable and the last to the gates. Cody didn't need direction before heading down the path to the gates.
"The roses are breathtaking this year," Obi-Wan said, breaking their silence.
Instead of speaking his thoughts, Cody nodded. "Hevy has been working with Ninety-Nine to ensure the garden is ready for the summer. My suspicion is that he wants to show up the Alderanian gardeners."
Obi-Wan chuckled. "I will never understand their competition."
"It's a thing between brothers. Cutup did well for King Bail's wedding; Hevy wants to do better for the prince's coronation." Cody replied with a shrug.
Obi-Wan put a hand on his own and stopped in the centre of the path. "Do you think he's ready?"
"Oh, I'm sure Hevy is. Ninety-Nine is a great teacher."
Obi-Wan shook his head fondly. "I have no doubt in that. I meant do you think Anakin is ready? He's still so…"
"Headstrong?"
" Young. At his age all I had to do was smile and nod. He is going to be running a country."
"You did a little more than smile and nod, Your Highness."
Cody recalled the prince’s marriage with the late Queen of Mandalore. Prince Obi-Wan had just turned seventeen. He proclaimed the union would unite their two countries for years to come. Cody, a teen himself, couldn’t help but feel bad for the elder. For years, it appeared the prince was stuck in a marriage of convenience.
Later, he learned this was only partially the case. Yes, the marriage was arranged, but Obi-Wan had quickly fallen in love with the Queen. Years later, the couple had a son. Soon after the prince’s birth, King Qui-Gon passed away. Obi-Wan was forced to return to his home country to take over Anakin’s teachings and the role of acting monarch. For Mandalore to maintain its political position, it was agreed the best course of action was to dissolve Prince Obi-Wan and Queen Satine’s union. This was all before the prince had turned twenty-five.
So, no, Obi-Wan did not just "smile and nod" when he was the age of the young prince.
Obi-Wan continued, "I had years of learning under Father before I was expected to lead, not to mention what I’d learned from Satine. Anakin-"
"Anakin has known his duty since he was born," Cody interrupted. "He has watched and learned as you acted in the role he was born to take. You fail to give him enough credit, Your Highness. Anakin will be a fearless and noble ruler, just as you taught him."
It was no secret Obi-Wan was treated unjustly by the former king. As the child of a non-traditional union, Obi-Wan held no place in line for the throne. Qui-Gon still educated him, but all his attention turned to Anakin when he was born. The younger son was the first born to the King and Queen. The throne was his right, not Obi-Wan’s.
When Qui-Gon passed away, it was agreed that Obi-Wan would temporarily act as monarch. He was to educate his younger brother so one day, when he turned twenty-three, he may take the throne. Several protested this arrangement, arguing that a bastard should have no such power. By the time anyone cared to listen, Obi-Wan's reign was coming to an end. Now their attention is on the king-to-be and his courtship status.
"I know you do not want to be king," Cody said softly. "But even the moonlight doesn't hide your worry. What is bothering you?"
"Many things keep me up at night, my dear. You'll have to be more specific." Cody simply tilted his head and waited until the prince sighed. "I know he is ready, but I still feel Anakin is too young for such responsibility. I fear that his and the Queen from Naboo's courtship will be denied. I worry that my son resents me for leaving when I had no choice. I fear…" He looked to the ground for a moment. "I fear that once Anakin ascends to the throne, he will no longer need me."
Cody gently tilted the prince's head to meet his gaze. "There is no doubt in my mind that he will always need you. You are his brother, his mentor, his beloved friend. He may not need an advisor anymore, but he will always need you."
Obi-Wan put a hand over the knight's own. "What would I do without you?"
"Not have a knight to cover your sorry arse."
Obi-Wan shook his head. He waited a moment more before speaking again. "I've been thinking of moving upstate."
Cody recoiled slightly in surprise. "Oh?"
"Yes, once Anakin is crowned and married to Padmé. Nowhere too far: just somewhere to get away from the politics and so-called royal life."
"Really?" Cody tried not to let his hope build.
"Yes. I may invite Krokie to stay. It depends how he'd get along with my fiancé, however."
"Fiancé?" This is the first time he'd heard the word out of the other's mouth.
"After the coronation I will have no ties to the throne. I will be able to marry whomever I want." Obi-wan smiled cheekily. "Perhaps you've met him; he is in the guard, after all."
"There are thousands of men in the guard. You must be more specific."
"Well, this knight is loyal. He is always two steps behind me. Regardless of my rankings and status, he has never feared to speak his mind." Obi-Wan took a step closer. "He is also quite charming. Handsome too, if I say so myself, especially in his formal wear."
Cody grimaced. He'd almost forgotten about the uncomfortable garments. "He'd only wear them for you, Sir."
"Soon he may never have to dawn them again."
"I love you," Cody admitted, tired of the banter that kept them apart.
Obi-Wan kissed his cheek and pulled him close. "And I you, cyare."
Soon, dignitaries would be arriving, Rex would arrive with the upset prince, and someone would pull Obi-Wan away for one reason or another. Cody tried to forget about that; right now it was just him, his beloved, and the stars.

Rey broke out of her story-telling trance and smiled. "The end!" She said gleefully.
All three children were fast asleep. Rey looked to the door frame and frowned when Jannah laughed. "How long have they been out?" She asked.
Jannah shrugged. "Leia fell as soon as you said the first sentence, Shara followed after Cody found the prince and Damrus was out not too long ago." Rey sighed before getting up and gathering Shara in her arms. Jannah came in and followed suit with Leia. "You did well," she continued, "I quite enjoyed your story."
"Oh, that wasn't a story," Rey called as she exited the room. "That was simply the beginnings of my grandfather and his husband."
… Well, maybe she had taken some creative liberties, but Jannah didn't need to know that.
