HE'S BACK BABY
Green Arrow #17(b) and Green Arrow #18
So, in williamson's story in #17, we get Ollie letting go of money. FINALLY. He's not supposed to be rich.
Tumblr media
Now I classify Ollie giving away money in two levels, the gold standard, which is when he donates it(Green Lantern(1960) #87, barely has anything, donates what he can; Green Arrow(1988) #6, donates a money he got that if he spends, it compromises him, he donated it anyway; Legends of the DC Universe #9, sold the company and donated all his money).
The silver standard is when he does get rid of the money, but it ends up being just switching one rich person for other. That's Green Arrow(1983) #4 and now, Green Arrow(2023) #17, since he gave his money to Connor.
In this backup story from #17 we get Ollie going to his new apartment. And as of issue #18, no mention of any job. Is he really jobless? I would like him to get some job. Back to columnist would be great.
In #17 we get our first connection to the 1983 series. Horton Chemicals is mentioned, it's the company he gave to Maxwell Stein. The former CFO of Horton Chemical, Donald Sherman(new character), is killed by this guy who's killing people related to shit the company is involved with, dump sites and poisoning people, y'now.
Back to #17, Batman breaks into Ollie's apartment. Not the first time he has done that at night. Look back into Legends of the Dark Knight #127.
They have an interesting argument, Ollie stands his ground very well and doesn't let Bruce have anything.
Also, Ollie calls Batman this:
Tumblr media
He did that in Detective Comics #559. And Chris Condon already confirmed that's the issue he toke it from.
Tumblr media
I love this scene. There's this vibe, he recognizes how he doesn't get respect, and then makes a baddas pose. He's standing up. He's not letting it put him down.
Oh, yeah, we get more clear shots of the costume in #18.
Tumblr media
I like it. Certainly better than the previous one. I like the opera gloves without any hole. The little cape isn't great. The rest is okay to me.
We get this crazy shot:
Tumblr media
Now, notice in the last panel, there's a weird circle line there. I think it's part from the balloon that they forgot to remove in the editing. Wonder if they will pick up on that and fix for the TPB.
Now, for something that really got me.
Tumblr media
Ollie and his not giving a shit about the law, baby, yeah.
Of course, I'm not gonna go over the million times he expressed his disdain and not giving a shit about the law. But he did use the word "damn" with "law" before.
Tumblr media
Legends of the DC Universe #9
DID YOU READ THIS CONDON? I fucking hope so.
And yeah, I cut off Hal's nonsense from this panel.
Back to the scene, Ollie is on fire. He calls a senator a war criminal to his face and refuses to shake his hand.
Tumblr media
Beautiful Ollie.
In the end of the issue we get the cop who's gonna be working with him in this story. Let's hope for heavy conflict, like between him and Cameron.
She throws a flashlight at him.
Tumblr media
Anyway, that's it. Great issue, the epilogue was great too.
Ollie's back in high force,(yeah not full force)
And PUT HIM TO WORK, CONDON.

The untapped comedic potential of Jason being blamed every time Tim goes missing, but he can't even remember what the guy looks like. After the third or fourth time Dick or Bruce barges into one of his safe houses to interrogate him (and ends up getting shot in the process), Jason threatens to actually kidnap the guy (he has no actual plan to, but he wants to see how far he can push this) since they've so convinced he's obsessed with him.
what direction do you think they should have gone in with jason? as in where should he be now in terms of people and what he's doing
i think winick had it exactly right green arrow #69-72 and batman & robin #23-25. he was a villain but he had a Method and a Purpose. and usually that purpose was just to fuck with batman. i loooove it when hes a villain and hes very clearly doing bad things, but hes not just indiscriminately killing people. hes doing it for a reason, hes still doing the same thing he was doing in utrh by controlling the drug trade, and even when hes doing the right thing hes being an asshole about it
i especially love the ga issues because jason doesnt even talk to batman but bruce KNOWS what hes doing and he knows its about him. i love the bruce & jason post-utrh dynamic where they've both pretty much said everything they have to say and neither of them is changing their position, so now jason is just starting fires to get attention. "ok bruce you dont want to talk to me? thats fine. ill just follow you to star city then psychologically torture a teenage girl then blow her up in front of you" icon! i forgive him! i think its so fun when red hood is a member of batman's rogues gallery and bruce feels bad every time he fights him but also he kinda cant stand him since he knows jason is only doing it to mess with him and its working. but also jason is a Greater Good person so he DOES end up working with the bats sometimes just because theyre also working on the good side
anyways the ideal bruce & jason dynamic to me is "the love was there and it made everything so much worse" because jason is doing everything for bruces attention because he loves him and wants him to care about him but hes not willing to budge on his own morals and neither is bruce. and bruce loves jason so he doesnt want to arrest him or put him in danger but also hes killing people and doing terrible things and bruce is batman so he feels obligated to. yk. stop him. and as much as they both love each other they do not like each other at all
in my mind jason doesnt really care about any of the other bats besides dick & babs just because he knew them before he died so hes willing to hang out with them but they Do Not want to see him. like in brothers in blood when jason goes hiiiii dick <3 lets hang out <3333 and dick is constantly suppressing the cain instinct. he never really talks to babs pre52 i think theyre interactions would be very similar in that jason goes hey babs ur so cool <33 and she says jason get the fuck away from me or im activating the bomb in your helmet <3
but also with steph even though he didnt know her pre-death,, i think he would like her. i can imagine him doing something very similar to what he did with mia, basically finding her and going "quit your vigilante career. join my emo band" but i think she would end up being a lot more receptive to it than mia was ! like im thinking batgirl 2009 era steph so she would not be on board with the idea of joining him since things were going well with team batgirl, but i also think that any interaction between the two of them in that era would go well and end with them getting along :)
as for everyone else. i dont think he would care about any of them. theyre just kinda collateral damage in his war with bruce. like he gets involved with them sometimes just because of their proximity to bruce, or like i said earlier that he works with them sometimes because he cares about the greater good so is willing to help them when necessary. also honorable mention to aoifa's headcanon that jason doesnt actually know tims name because he just does not care. thats canon to me
so yeah in conclusion: he should be a morally grey villain that does what he does either for the greater good, or to fuck with batman, or both. and he has complicated relationships with all of them bc he likes bruce dick and babs but also kinda hates all of them and they like but also hate him too. and the rest of them he doesn't really give a shit about

What people seem to forget is that jason should, by all means, kick Bruce's ass any time they truly fight.
You're talking about a child who could see untitled at like 8 years old. Talia al ghul saw potential in him but ultimately decided against taking him in. He survived for a while before being adopted, and even then, he had the balls to steal the tires of the batmobile and then swing at batman with a tire iron at 11. A malnourished kid, at 15, was regularly breaking adults' collar bones. This is a kid that terrorised goons with ease while being shorter than 5 feet (his death certificate stated that he was 4'11).
And this is pre death, pre training. He was in a comatose state, and his body remembered how to fight. At 17, he snuck into Titans Tower and knocked out every member in order to clear the area to fight tim. He planted a bomb under the batmobile and CHOSE not to set it off. Then you get to the murder tour in lost days, where he trained with the best, with the ultimate gial of killing batman. This teenager managed to go through the same regiment bruce went through while learning more, since he wasn't bound by a desire not to kill. He learned more techniques and forms from more people and managed to kill the best of the best.
Ra's al ghul, a centuries old man, called him a plague to earth, and he was also deemed fit for the all caste, who are experts on the soul and magic shit. He's the chosen one of a secret sector of warrior monks with magical flaming swords imbedded into his soul while being too young to drink alcohol. The all mother herself said that he'd brung death and destruction wherever he went.
Additionally, he's a strategic genius who managed to run circles around batman and his team, only revealing what he wanted to, all while taking over the underground and beefing with black mask and other kingpins.
No way in hell does he get beat by dick, or future tim, or damian. The only one who could even give him a fight is cass, and even then, she would struggle. When dick got turned into a juiced up vampire, jason stopped holding back and laid him out immediately. When he was drunk and in mouring and damian came in with the intent to fight, he still kicked his ass.
It fucking sucks that DC decided to turn him into a bitch just to prop the batfam up, this man is a THREAT, stop fucking with the powerscaling it doesn't make any sense.

Hey! So, it's been a while, but I finally remembered to come back to this! But, it's not gonna go the way you'd think.
If Danny had it his way, he'd be at his Aunt Alicia's house for the summer instead of New Jersey. This place is gloomy, grimy, and soaked through with so much crime that it's a Problem(TM). Like, seriously? New Jersey hasn't allowed the death penalty since he was seven, but can't they make, like, one exception? Get rid of The Joker and half of Gotham's problems are solved.
Unfortunately, he's only here as a guest, so he can't really do anything. Which, for the record, is a shit rule. Call a goose and goose, and that's exactly what Gotham City, New Jersey is.
It isn't all that bad, he supposes. Sure, the pollution blocks out the entire sky at all times, the buildings that aren't condemned are only feeding the rich while stealing from the poor, an entire twenty-four block are has been given up on by mostly everyone, the local vigilantes won't kill the recurring problems like the cockroaches they are- There was a good point to all this.
Oh! He has family here. That's it. That's the only silver lining, and it's bronze.
But, hey, it can't be that bad. From what he understands, his half-brother and company don't actually live in Gotham. Bristol, according to Talia is technically outside of Gotham City Limits, but is still considered as part of the city. Makes sense, aside from the fact that there's no bridge between Bristol and Gotham. Weird design, but he's not rich so he's not really inclined to care or understand.
Half brother, right.
Danny doesn't like Damian much, but that's because he's a clone...of Damian. Danny's a clone of Damian, not the other way around. Ra's makes that very clear
The only reason Talia wants him with Damian is because she's upset with Bruce Wayne. What is it with divorced parents and putting their kids on the middle of their fights? Or maybe that's just Talia?
Anyway.
Gotham, New Jersey is a dismal place. Danny's not germophobic by any means, he can't really afford to be, but even he's having a hard time being in the city.
It was so much easier hiding out with the Fentons.
Well, 'hiding' is a subjective term. Ra's and Talia knew where he was, so did Deathstroke, probably, but that was it.
Essentially, everyone he should be hiding from knows where he's been hiding, which means he's just been on some kind of twisted, extended vacation.
As far as Danny knew, Bruce Wayne had no idea he was coming. Damian knew because Talia had wanted him to pick Danny up from the airport. Weird because while Damian is technically older, Danny is still legally two years older.
Well, 'legally' is a stretch. He doesn't technically exist, outside of the LoA and Amity Park.
The point is that Damian is waiting for him at the end of the terminal, looking as much like an excited puppy as he can, with an older gentleman. Talia had given him nothing to work with, but Danny didn't really care who this guy was as long as he didn't try to make him do anything he didn't want to.
...living in the Midwest was doing wonders for his mental stability, but Ancients was it making him soft!
"'Danny', I presume?" the old man asked, his accent heavy.
Good, so Talia did give Damian his actual name. "Yep. You are?" He may not want to be here, but he still knows his manners. Even if he's only going to use the bare minimum of them. Malicious Compliance and all that.
"Alfred Pennyworth, the family butler." He didn't extend his hand to shake. Danny didn't mind. In fact, he actually preferred that.
Okay, so maybe he's a little bit haphephobic. Leave him alone!
"Danny," Damian greeted, a smile of excitement in his voice but not his face, "It's good to have you here. How did Mother convince you to come?"
"Bribery." Mostly.
Damian seemed to deflate a bit. "Father and the others don't know you're here."
"Do they even know about me at all?"
"No."
"Perfect! Then I can stay at a hotel-"
"For the entire summer?" Alfred raised his eyebrow, "I must insist that you stay at Wayne Manor while in Gotham. Master Bruce will most pleased to meet you."
"Why?" Danny scoffed, "I'm not his kid, nor do I want to be."
Damian slouched a little bit more. "Come, we must get back before the others send out a search party for us."
"Dramatic much?" Danny scoffed.
"Not at all," Alfred took both of Danny's bags before leading the way out to the car, "It' happened before in less time."
"I don't doubt it for a second. I'm calling Bruce a dramatic bitch."
Alfred smirked ever so slightly. "Quite right, Master Danny."
"Don't call me that."
"Alright then, what should I call you?"
"'Danny'. No honorifics, no add ons, no trying to fullname me, nothing else."
"And when you go out with the rest of the family?"
He scoffed again. "You really think they'd let me go out with them? I'm an assassin. In fact, the first thing I'll do the second I'm let out of the house is kill the clown bastard."
Damian rested his hand on Danny's arm. "They let me out with them and I tried to kill Drake. As long as you uphold a promise not to kill anyone, you'll be allowed to patrol with us."
They reached the car, Damian sat behind the driver while Danny sat behind the passenger. Alfred put the bags in the trunk. "So? What will you be called on patrol?"
Danny rolled his eyes, popping his headphones in and not looking away from the window. "Respawn."

hiii! can i request reader being a vigilante and also jason’s ex? they’re on the same mission/have to work together and reader gets injured or smn?
thank you so much! I love your writing!
thanks for requesting! this turned into a whole ass one shot 😭 hope you like ❤️
jason todd x gn!reader. tw: fighting, exes, physical violence, reader is captured but they're fine, jason is NOT over you (and he doesn't want to be), making up, fluffy ending. 2k words (lol)
****
The Cave is exactly how you remember. Foolishly, you thought maybe it would've rotted after you broke up with Jason.
That's certainly how you felt.
But no. It's the same, and the other Bats are the same. Dick and Tim are there, probably because you're the most familiar with them... after your ex, of course... and Barbara already pushed the envelope by contacting you.
Still, Gotham is your city too. And if the Bats need an extra set of hands to protect the city, then so be it.
"Hey, glad you could make it," Dick says warmly.
At times, you envy how easygoing he can be. Even though he can have a temper, Dick Grayson, for the most part, shakes hands like a politician. He doesn't burn bridges. He doesn't hold grudges, at least not publicly.
You, on the other hand, are perhaps too much like his younger brother: you absolutely hold grudges, and you don't let go easily.
"Hi, guys," you say, trying to be civil. "What's up?"
"So—"
The roar of a motorcycle pulling into the Cave cuts Tim off. Quick anger soars through you as Red Hood dismounts the bike. He takes off his helmet.
You haven't seen Jason in a year. Judging by his physique, the breakup did not take a toll on him. If anything, he seems bigger than you remember. Asshole.
You can pinpoint the moment that he finally sees you, and he stops in his tracks.
"Oh, boy," you hear Tim mumble.
Jason is silent. You cross your arms, keeping your face neutral.
"I didn't know you worked with the Bats, Hood. Thought you flew solo."
Jason is quiet for another moment. Then he speaks.
"Things change."
"Clearly."
"Anyway!" Dick says, clapping his hands. "Pretty straightforward mission. Drugs, warehouse, bad guys, et cetera. We have to clear out these shipments tomorrow night, or they'll hit the streets, and we'll be too late. Robin and I will take Gotham Heights. Signal, Black Bat, and Red Robin will take downtown. And, um, you two can clear out the Bowery."
"Hood can handle the Bowery himself," you say. "Gimme another section."
Jason scoffs. You glance at him.
"Something funny?" you ask, teeth grit.
"Once again, you're biting off more than you can chew," he says, hands on his waist. "It's stupid and you're gonna get yourself into trouble. Just clear out the Bowery with me. Plenty of room for both of us."
"I don't know if you know this, but I actually do pretty okay on my own. Just because you're one of Batman's special little prodigies doesn't mean the rest of us can't get by."
You glance at the others. "No offense."
"None taken," Tim says. "You're far better adjusted than us, no contest."
Jason rolls his eyes. "C'mon. You don't have anything to prove to us. We know you're capable, but these guys are rough. We team up for safety."
"Oh, now you care about being a part of a team?" you snap. "You didn't give a shit when it was me asking—no, begging you and Roy to help me with the League mission in Sydney."
Jason's jaw tenses. "That was different."
"Guys, I think we should—"
"Why? Because you only get your hands dirty locally?" you ask, shaking with anger.
"Because if I had gotten involved, it would've put a target on your back," Jason says icily. "You would've been killed. You were nowhere near ready to take on the League. I wouldn't have been able to protect you and fight them."
"You know, right there, you sounded just like Bruce. Did you take tips from him?"
Silence. Jason's boiling with anger, you can tell.
"Bruce wouldn't have had the sense to stop you from going," he finally says, tone even. "He's not too good at that."
"Bruce would've cared enough to back me up. And he wouldn't have driven a wedge between me and my team."
It's just words; there's no way to know whether Batman would've actually backed you up. Probably not, considering his history. But it hurts Jason, and you take the moment to whirl around to look at Dick and Tim, who are wildly uncomfortable. Dick looks sad.
"It's better to team up," Dick says gently.
You bristle. "Whatever. I'll see you tomorrow."
You stalk out of the Cave.
Stupid fucking exes. Stupid fucking vigilantes.
****
"Okay, just to make things clear..."
"In and out. Report at the Cave," you say, tightening your equipment. "I got it, Nightwing. Over and out."
You silence your comm before he can respond. You're tired of their voices.
Thankfully, Jason has taken the hint and is on the opposite end of the Bowery. Which means you can slip away in peace.
You did this as a favor for Barbara, but now you're seriously rethinking getting reinvolved with the Bats. It never ends well.
The warehouses on the East End of Old Gotham are no problem. You clear out five within an hour. You check the comm briefly. It's pretty much silent, so you turn it off and keep going.
The West End, however, is a little harder.
Because you're only one person, someone figures out your pattern. You're clobbered over the head before you can drop in through the roof.
This is the last time you do a favor for anybody in Gotham.
****
You wake up tied to a chair. Your head pounds, and your lip is bloody. Not good.
"—way the Bat will show. They're a nobody vigilante."
"Tony, you're a fuckin' idiot if you think Batman doesn't know exactly what the fuck goes on in this city. Swear to God, I shoulda left you with Mom in Boise. Nothing but cotton in your head."
"Oh, fuck off, Al, you'd still be droolin' on your couch crying over Marie if I hadn't come back to Jersey."
"You little—"
"Very sorry to interrupt this family spat," you say. "But I'm on a tight schedule here, so if you could just speed things up..."
"Smartass, huh?" Al asks, waving a gun. "I wouldn't be so bold tied to a chair, toots."
"Toots? Are you a hundred years old?"
Tony snickers. Al glares at him and stalks over to you. He doesn't hesitate before whacking you upside the head with his gun. Your ears ring, and you hunch forward.
"Watch your mouth," he growls, and you're in too much pain to come up with a response to that.
Presently, you realize that your earbud is out of your ear. Probably destroyed. You have no other way of sending a distress signal. By the time you miss the report at the Cave, it'll be too late.
You were a failure then, and you're a failure now. Even your ex-boyfriend took pity on you.
Jason. God, look at how you'd left things. How his face had fallen when you'd called him Bruce. He used to love Bruce, and you know exactly what happened that changed that. And you used it against him.
Now you're facing the consequences. This is your own damn fault.
"Load everything into the truck," Al says into a walkie. "Then move out. Tell the others the same."
There's a crackled reply. Then shouting. Then silence.
You look up in surprise. Al curses and points at you.
"Stay here and watch them," he orders Tony.
"But Al, what if Batman comes here?"
"That's what guns are for, you freakin' idiot!"
You snort. As if guns could stop any of them, much less Batman.
But whatever. These guys probably didn't go into selling drugs because of their big IQs.
Tony and five other men stay to guard you. You work on trying to slip out of the handcuffs and rope.
Bang!
The first gunshot hits one goon in the leg. A second gets hit in the shoulder. Hip. Foot. Opposite leg.
Red Hood steps out of the shadows, then. Tony immediately looks sick.
"H-Hood? This ain't your territory, what're you—"
"You've got something of mine, Tony," Jason says, voice smooth and dangerous.
Tony decides that, fuck his brother, he's getting out of here alive, and runs. Jason doesn't pay him any mind, instead walking to you.
He cuts the ropes first, then picks the handcuffs. Jason roughly rubs your wrists and ankles, pushing blood back into your extremities.
"What're you doing?" you ask. "Go get him. He's meeting his brother downtown."
You can't see Jason's expression through the helmet, but if looks could kill...
"Hood—"
"What. The hell. Is wrong with you."
You scowl. "I didn't come here for a fucking lecture."
"Well, you're gonna get one. This wasn't the plan. And you turned off your comm? Are you trying to get yourself killed? You have a death wish or something?"
"It didn't make sense to put both of us in the Bowery—"
"You could've died tonight!" Jason yells.
"And wouldn't you have liked that!" you snap back. "Proves the fact that I'm a failure quite nicely."
Jason tears off his helmet. His eyes are wide with anger and... guilt. Helplessness.
He's afraid.
"Don't you fucking say that," he says lowly. "I'd rather die again than find your body."
"What the fuck do you care?" you snarl. "I'm not your responsibility, remember? What does it matter if I dropped off the face of the earth?"
"Because I still love you!"
All of your anger drains.
Your body buzzes like it wants to feel him again. Traitor.
"That would kill me," Jason finishes quietly. "And I wouldn't come back from that death."
Your mouth feels like you swallowed chalk.
"You love me?" you whisper.
"You're hard to get over," he says. "Still haven't managed it."
"But... you said our breakup was for the best."
Jason sighs. His anger fades. "It was. I was a jackass. I let my shit with Bruce and the Pit and everything get in the way of what was important. Which is you."
"You were good to me, Jay," you say. "And we were okay. Till... till Sydney."
Jason winces. "I should've handled it better. And I should've treated you better."
"You're a good man, Jason. I don't regret my relationship with you. I regret it ending."
He looks at you. His face is twisted in pain.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you," he says. "And you're not a failure. Not even close."
You scoff, your eyes wet. "Aren't I? Couldn't even handle a simple drug bust."
"No, you're not. Nothing about what we do is simple, even if we're gaslit into thinking so. In this life, you need someone to watch your back. Even B doesn't work alone."
You try to stand, suddenly feeling like a raw nerve. You stand up too fast, though, and blood rushes to your head. You might also be mildly concussed.
Jason immediately slips an arm around your waist as you teeter forward and puts you upright.
"Easy, sweetheart," he says, and doesn't let go until you're steady.
You raise a brow. Jason grimaces.
"Sorry. Force a' habit."
You scoff, suddenly shy. "Habit, huh? Still think of me as your sweetheart?"
"Never stopped."
You roll your eyes, but it's fond now. "Anybody ever tell you you don't know how to move on?"
"Mm. I've heard it once or twice."
Your lips tingle. You've missed kissing him.
"I'm sorry I compared you to Bruce," you say. "You're nothing like him."
Jason shrugs. "Some of me is exactly like him. The fact that I didn't put a bullet in anybody's brain even though they kidnapped you isn't me at all. But I forgive you. And I'm sorry I hurt you. I didn't know the Sydney mission had festered so much."
"It's okay, Jay. You're right, I wasn't ready to take down the League or kill anybody. I'm grateful you stopped me."
Jason takes a careful step forward, eyes darting to your lips. You smirk.
"Hot for communication, are we?" you ask.
"Oh," he says, suddenly reticent. "Sorry. Too forward. Shit. I've... I've just missed you so much. I thought maybe you—that there was a vibebut if there isn't, then—"
You take the last step and kiss him, and your lips buzz in satisfaction. Jason kisses back just as eagerly, hands flying to your waist and squeezing. But his hands roam, holding and cupping like he's been starved for the last year.
"I missed you too, Jaybird," you say between kisses.

👀🎃🔥 trick or treat? ÓwÒ 🍬🍫🍭
happy halloween, i hear you like werewolves 👀
For as long as he can remember, Jason's greatest fear has been his wolf.
He knows he's crossed more than a few lines in his day, has let his temper lead him into bad choices, but all of that? Was still rational. Even blinded by rage, he's never stopped thinking.
The monster within doesn't think. It doesn't reason. It doesn't have morals or emotions or a goddamn brain. It's a big, violent brute, and if it ever escapes the containment spells he hides behind every full moon, there's no telling what damage it might do.
Ever since he was a kid, he's been having nightmares about the wolf--about waking up the morning after to find he's slaughtered his mom, his friends, Bruce or Alfred or Dick.
Tim's taking center stage in those nightmares these days. Jason's had dozens of them since they got together, horrible dreams of waking to Tim's blood on his hands, in his teeth.
In all this time, it's never once occurred to him to fear being on the other side of things.
"Okay, Tim," he says carefully. "It's okay. It's just me."
The growling doesn't stop. There's no recognition in Tim's beautiful blue eyes. Just pure, animal instinct.
Fuck. Fuck.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, baby," he tries. "And the asshole who did this to you is dead. Everything's fine. You're safe."
The asshole who did this was a half-assed sorcerer with half-assed magic. The so-called werewolf spell gave Tim the ears and the tail, the claws and the fangs, and apparently wiped his reason away, but that's it. Tim might be half-crouched, keeping low to the ground like a real wolf, but his spine didn't change with the spell.
(Neither did his vocal cords; his throat's gonna be killing him after all this growling.)
(Also, if the situation weren't so dire, Jason'd be real fucking offended by this shit being called a werewolf spell when it didn't even give Tim a fucking snout. Stupid Hollywood bullshit.)
That doesn't mean he's not showing some wolf-like body language. In addition to the crouching, his tail is stiff and his ears flat against his head. Could be that's a lack of control, given he's not a real wolf.
Or it could be that the behavior's instinctual, and Tim's just as scared as his body language is screaming.
"Everything's gonna be okay, Tim," he tries again. "Okay? The spell will wear off in a few hours and we can go home. It's fine. You're okay."
Tim bares his sharper-than-usual teeth. Not good.
Jason knows he can take Tim out, but can he do it without hurting him? Can he do it without losing his grip on his own wolf, which even now is stirring beneath his skin, unhappy with the clear challenge Tim is issuing?
If that very dead jackass hadn't cast a containment spell, Jason could run. He could lead Tim on a chase straight to his nearest safehouse with its carefully warded room designed to hold a werewolf.
As it is, he's trapped. Here, with a Tim with claws and fangs and not a single drop of recognition in his eyes.
"You're safe," he tries one last, fruitless time, and Tim lowers his head and lunges.
Jason swears and tries to dodge, but it turns out he's been too focused on Tim and not the fucking containment spell, because like a goddamn rookie, he bounces off a boundary he hadn't realized he'd backed up too.
Tim hits him full force, knocking him down flat on his back.
Fuck. Fuck.
He gets his arms up in time to hold Tim back, keeping those fangs away from his throat, but it's a close thing. And he can't fucking grapple with another wolf without losing his grip on his own.
His wolf would kill Tim. He can't let that happen.
And while he'd gladly die rather than hurt Tim, he's spent his whole life fearing waking up to find he's slaughtered someone he loves. He can't inflict that on Tim.
There's a way out of this. He knows there's a way out of this. If his fucking wolf would chill and stop fighting him, just give him a second to think, he knows he could find a way out.
But Tim and Jason's wolf are fighting him in equal measure, and there's no time to fucking think.
"Tim," he wheezes, breathless from the struggle and the impact with the floor. "Tim, it's me. It's Jason. I don't wanna--fuck!"
Whatever's going on in Tim's head, he's figured out the claws. He lashes out and Jason has no choice but to release his shoulders to catch his wrists, to protect his own from being sliced open--but that just frees Tim to lunge forward and lock his fangs around Jason's throat and--
--and freeze?
Jason's frozen, too. Tim's wrists in his hands, Tim's teeth just barely pressing into his skin, his entire brain screaming that he can't hurt Tim, and his wolf rolling under his skin, distracting him. Tim wouldn't have gotten his fangs this close if Jason's stupid wolf wasn't fighting him so hard.
As it is, his wolf really does not like having fangs this close to their neck. It takes everything Jason's got to keep his own from sprouting. He can't move, not even to take advantage of Tim's sudden stillness.
Tim makes a strange noise. Something that wants to be a canine vocalization, probably, but again: wrong vocal cords.
Slowly, Tim leans back and then right back in. This time nose first instead of teeth first. He pushes his nose right into the crook of Jason's neck and...sniffs.
And again. And again.
And then he...well, he yips. Like a puppy.
Tim's ears unflatten. His tail wags.
And he pulls away from Jason's neck to lick him across the face.
...Okay then.
Tentatively, Jason loosens his grip on Tim's wrists. Tim snuggles in close and rubs his head against Jason's, making another little not-quite-vocalization and licking his face again.
"Gross," Jason says, but he's too light-headed with relief to actually protest. "Okay. Okay. You remember me, Tim?"
In answer, Tim licks him again. Which has no right to feel as gross as it does, really, considering how they've both done their share of licking (and sucking) in bed, but--come on. There is a lot of saliva on Jason's face right now.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it," he says. He rubs Tim's back with one hand and wipes his face with the other. His heart's still racing. "I take it you remember me now."
Tim sniffs him happily, which, yeah, makes sense. Wolves rely on their sense of smell a lot, and they've been living together for months. Jason smells like himself and like Tim and like their den, all their mixed up scents of gunpowder and lemon and cedar.
Thank fuck Jason didn't put on his scent-blocking leathers today. He usually saves them for close to the full moon, when the wolf starts to show in his scent, but he's been known to wear them on other nights when he's in a hurry and they're the first thing he lays hands on.
He can't believe this night having a happy ending hinged on which jacket he chose on his way out the door.
Tim's tail is still wagging. He nuzzles his face back into Jason's neck.
It's kind of adorable. Still...
"Okay, stop wiggling," he says after a minute. "You're half a werewolf right now, have some fucking dignity."
In response, Tim licks him again.
happy halloween! 🎃👻🦇 i’ve decided to use this prompt generator for every ‘trick or treat’ i get. this prompt was Uh oh! These two idiots got themselves trapped together. i hope you enjoyed! ♡♡

Note
So one of my favorite tropes is Jason or Dick going "mine now" and adopting every bat kid to come after them, and turning Bruce into a father in legality only, a reluctant grandfather in reality
See the endnotes of both "Dynamic" by Cant_Smoke_Eggs and " bystander" by greeneyedfirework
And also the Crimelord Tim-Never-Robins AU is making me tear up rn so I'm just gonna kindly take the ideas of that AU and the Carrion Crows and and shove them all into a blender to—
☆・★・・・★・☆
Tim Drake's parents are as awful as they are in the Never-Robin verse but here he—to put things horrifically lightly—convinces himself out of it
Oh yes, what you're describing is abuse and it's wrong! What did you say about his parents? They do everything he agrees is abuse? No! You misunderstand, they aren't abusive they're . . .
When Jason dies and Tim blackmails his way into Robinhood, into making sure his last remaining light in this world lives and stays as via shining as he always sees him, he get's a proper excuse
Not that he could ever tell others of course
But it's just what he personally needed
How could my parents ever be abusive? Batman hardly ever remarks about them and sometimes he even trains me more painfully then whenever my parents are back home!
☆・★・・・★・☆
Thus goes his life until he comes across a girl and her ward
Or maybe baby brother is more appropriate
Introducing Cassandra Cain, League of Assassin's renegade extraordanaire
And who does she have with her? It's only Damian al Ghul, blood son of Talia and Brucie!
Yeah, some time during or after Jason's departure from the League, Cassandra by sheer chance got in the same room as Damian
A fucking child which horrified her, so she snatched that kid and dipped
Damian telling her stories about his father and big brother both from Gotham gave her a clear direction of where to head
☆・★・・・★・☆
Not that they tell Tim this, they've hardly met him
They tell Robin silly! Damian in particular is insistent that the vigilante introduce him to his father as he is the blood son
Tim—wanting to help Batman since his plate is full—says it will take some time but he knows someone who can give a place to stay, they can trust his verified associate
Thus is how the two move into the Drake Manor with Timothy Drake full-time
It's nice, he accommodates for their needs and teaches them whatever they don't know
Cassandra quickly clues in—and informs the latter—on Tim and Robin being one & the same
When Cassandra confronts Tim about this, he does his best to calmly (are you sure about that young boy?) justify himself
He recounts the rise of Batman, of the first Robin turned Nightwing, and the Second Robin until his death
Batman's grief would descend into him transforming his vigilantism into a suicide mission
And Gotham? Gotham may be a horrifically corrupt city now, but before Batman it was hell on earth
It was already slipping back into there, what with lifelong hospital bills, disabilities, and job loss being indiscriminately handed out left and right
Though, Batman's rogues weren't facing the brunt of his rage nearly as much as most desperate criminals he came across, just trying to survive
Thus, to keep Gotham from tumbling back into the days before Batman, and to keep the hero from killing himself (because saying 'get himself killed' is dishonest) he blackmailed himself into the Robin role to act as Bat's leash and caretaker
He realized he may have miscalculated when Cassandra's knuckles go bone white
☆・★・・・★・☆
Cassandra had several moments where she has second-thoughts about bringing Damian to his father, and now they're solidifying
She subsequently informs said baby brother that "holy shit, you're father is a monster" with stories what she learns about him, albeit mildly omitting the nastier details she doesn't want Damian to know at his young age
Doesn't help when they both notice the injuries Tim doesn't even get on patrol but training and he has to go to Agent A or himself for medical aid
☆・★・・・★・☆
Tim Drake always saw himself an exception to justice. His parent love him and he has a duty to Batman
Whe his parents come home he tells them about his new friends staying over for some time
After working it out with the two, they even have their identities legalized and nobody will bat an eye at their presence with Tim
The Drakes come home and one moment he's introducing his parents to his friends
The next he's closing an incinerator room's doors with a lockpick
How . . . ?
☆・★・・・★・☆
during Tim's blackout, Janet and Jack made some classist and other comments towards Damian and Cassandra, and since their legal identities are of orphans, and went as far as to threaten abuse knowing they'd get away with it
That caused something in Tim to break and finally do his parents in
Upon realizing what he's done, Tim is going to be pretty hysterical and grieving and when Cass ask's what's up he immediately breaks down
☆・★・・・★・☆
So yeah, Tim has to hide his parent's death and speedrun becoming secret CEO until he can become one publicly
Step number one? Get Cassandra and Damian adopted by the late Drakes and insert them into their wills
Cassandra and Damian stick with Tim because they care for him, he's also single handedly providing for them, plus they don't want to test their luck with Batman at all
Damian is having an identity crisis because he was taught to take pride in his blood but his father who's been hella hyped up has brutalized his new big brother repeatedly
Maybe Tim stumbles across Stephanie and Duke, and gets them adopted too
Maybe we have a Jason with less of his screws loose and he walks up to Tim and is like "where are you parents" "they're totally alive!" "Holy shit you're an orphan actively distancing yourself from the batman because he abused you *adopts him as son*" or maybe Dick Grayson fathers instead, idk
Or maybe Jason here is still willing to pull a Titans Tower idk
My brain is melting lol
Holy hell. I love this AU. Tim adopting his other family members is near and dear to me. He has the means to and has canonically made up fake family members. He can totally throw someone into his family legally (and technically illegally).
Have you seen Damian Drake? This kind of reminds me of that fic, but with Cass in it and the Drakes dead. For this AU, it would be precious if Damian starts to take pride in Tim's last name instead. That, or they could create a new one for the 3 of them (until Dick, Jason, Duke, and others join [Steph is always weird cause she dated Tim. It's similar to how Babs isn't legally considered family/siblings, but she's still part of the family]).
Damian thus has legal to claim to both Drake Industries and Wayne Enterprises (if he ever chooses to disclose his relation to Bruce). The best part of this is that Tim is building a large family by stealing them all from Bruce (cause fuck that man).
Also, Cass and Damian should interact more in fanwork. I'm so glad that you have them as such in this. Similar to Steph and Damian, I don't see that relationship as much which is sad. They have such great sibling bonds.
Two more thoughts: One, I love the characterization of Tim stepping back into his body to find he had murdered his parents and just rolling with it (besides the mandatory breakdown). He just figures it out cause it is what it is. Two, how old is Tim in this? Does he immediately become CEO or try to pretend his parents are still alive?
I'm also imagining Tim just gathering all these people, and he's not necessarily their leader/boss, but he does provide for them. He guides them and supports them. He's like a family mafia boss, but without any command or orders. The others are free to do as they please, but they tend to run decisions against each other

chapter three
biker!bucky barnes x stark!reader (turf war au)
tony's mad, bucky's curious, you're questioning where you belong
warnings: violence, language, small age gap (6~ years), angst, arguing, drinking, overall crime and gang stuff, sort of enemies to lovers
series masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Tony spat as he angrily paced around the room. "Some moron paid off Quill and his gang to not fuck up The Avengers!"
"I knew we should've gone Hydra," Rhodey clicked his tongue as he looked up from scrolling on his phone.
Tony shook his head, "When I find the person who did this, I'll fuck them up myself."
Your brother's words made you increasingly nervous. It was you who paid off Quill. At least he didn't snitch that it was you. It still didn't help your nerves to see how upset Tony was.
"It was a bad idea anyways," Clint interrupted. He quickly retracted his words as Tony grabbed his collar, "Only because we should've done it ourselves!"
Bruce sighed, "We can't do anything too rash, otherwise The Asgardians won't help us."
"He's right," Vision confirmed, "They like peace until they're the ones to disrupt it. The minute we cross any lines, they're out of the picure. Bye-bye, Brooklyn."
"Kiddo, what're you thinking?" Tony called to you. You just noticed how you were picking at your skin.
With a shrug, you answered. "I'm just not a fan of all of this."
"Well they're all lying, pompous, pieces of shit." Tony scoffed. "They deserve all of this."
"But why?" You asked. The silence in the room was so much, you could've heard the dust flying around.
Tony pointed to the door, "Get out. Go home."
"But-"
"No! Go the fuck home," Tony yelled as you grabbed your bag and left the small HQ to head back to your apartment, wondering what you's said to make him that angry.
Tumblr media
"What's on your mind, Buck?" Steve asked his friend as the two of them sat in the bar. It was always pretty empty during the day. It was the two of them, a couple in the cafe, and Coulson cleaning up.
Bucky shrugged, "Nothin',"
"I know that look, it's not nothing. Come on, I won't judge you." Steve pushed. "Is it about the Stark girl?"
"I just.. don't know how to place her," Bucky admitted. "Stark's such an ass, but she's just-"
"Sweet?" Steve offered.
Bucky nodded, "Yeah, real fuckin' sweet. I mean, she could've got her ass kicked for us last night. I just don't get why she's bein' so nice when Tony's over there brainwashing her."
"I highly doubt he's doing that," Steve mused. "She wasn't around during the fallout. There's a good chance she doesn't even know what all of this is about, or you." Bucky felt his heart drop just a little when Steve added that last part. Truly, he'd never meant for Howard and Maria to get killed. He didn't know it was them transporting millions of dollars in art, otherwise he would've kept his mouth shut. "She really does seem to have a good brain in that head of hers."
"What are you thinking?" Bucky asked, watching as Steve's face twisted into that look he got when he got some brilliant idea.
Steve shrugged, "Maybe we invite her for drinks as a thank you."
"You think Stark-"
"I don't give a damn what he thinks," Steve cut Bucky off abruptly. "She's not his property. Let's give her a choice."
Bucky gave a soft sigh knowing Steve wasn't going to back off his idea. "Ask the others, let's see what they think."
"Already on it, Buck."
Tumblr media
How could Tony just kick you out like that?
What could you have said that was so bad that your own brother would kick you out?
The thoughts spiraled in your mind as you sprawled out on your couch, a long, deep sigh pouring from your lips. It was only six and it felt like the longest day in the world. Not to mention your sub-group chat without Tony was blowing up your phone. You had to mute it to shut them up. All they were rambling about was if The Guardians idea was really the right one.
Clint had texted you as well. He asked if you knew who called off Quill. It was clear by his tone he already knew it was you. Clint always knew the sneaky things you did without Tony knowing. He kept things quiet. You liked Clint the most.
A strong knock shook you from your thoughts. You weren't expecting anyone, unless maybe Clint came over to question you further since you didn't respond to his texts.
You walked up to the door and opened it, shock filling your body when you saw Steve standing there.
"Steve," You breathed, unsure of what else to say.
"Hey, Stark." Steve gave a soft smile. He looked behind you and into your apartment, reminding you to let him in. You opened the door further and scooted out of his way so he could walk in. "Small place," He commented as he looked around.
"Big enough for one person," You countered, a smile playing at your lips. Steve wasn't here for trouble. "I would ask how you know where I live, but.."
Steve chuckled, "Yeah, we've all got our connections." He took a seat at the small bar-stool you had at your counter. "Pretty early to be sitting around at home."
You looked at your clothes, glancing down to realize you were in full sweats. "Yeah, Tony and I got in a disagreement today. Kinda spoiled the mood."
"What about?" Steve asked, genuine curiosity on his face.
"It's always something, I don't even know what this one's about." You sighed as you leaned against your wall. "You here to just chat?"
Steve shook his head, "Go get dressed, you're coming out with us tonight."
"Am I?" You asked curiously. "What for?"
"A thank you," Steve explained, "For the other night with Quill and his buddies."
If it was anyone else, you'd think you were getting played. Steve was different, though. He was genuine, he didn't bullshit with his kindness. Maybe your actions had bought you a one-way ticket to Steve's friendship. If that was even what you wanted. Tony would kill you.
"I'll go get dressed." Fuck what Tony thinks.
Steve waited on the stool as you changed in your room. "Where are we going?" You called out to Steve.
"The Grove," Steve replied, his voice loud so you could hear. "It's where we always go." Second time at The Grove, how exciting. "What do you want to drink? I can let Coulson know ahead of time."
You thought for a moment, "I'll do a cosmopolitan!"
You quickly touched up your makeup and walked out of your room, back to Steve who was waiting patiently. "A cosmopolitan, good choice." Steve smiled. "You all ready?"
"Yeah, let me grab a jacket." You said, looking at the muted news on your tv. "Never mind, it's going to be eighty. I won't need that."
"Especially with alcohol in you," Steve joked, opening your door for you. "My bike's outside, you can just ride with me."
You'd actually only ridden on a bike a small amount. Clint had one, but everyone else in the Syndicates had nice cars. It felt thrilling to be on a bike again. It made you feel even better when Steve handed you a helmet to wear. Thrilling but safe!
Tumblr media
The Avengers and yourself were definitely a little bit tipsy at this point.
You were sat right in between Wanda and Natasha, who's head was currently on your shoulder to keep her upright as she laughed so hard she was shaking.
"And then he screamed louder than anyone," Natasha paused to wheeze in a breath. "I've ever heard!"
The table erupted in laugher, all besides Sam, who's face was heated while he scoffed. "It isn't that funny."
"No, it really is." Wanda waved him off as she hiccuped in laughter.
The only person not laughing besides Sam was Bucky. He was just oddly smiling to himself, unable to look up from his lap. Clearly the story had made him amused, but he couldn't look up at you.
"I would give all the money in the world to hear that." You admitted as you sipped your drink.
Natasha sat up quickly, "Here, let me try and replicate it for you." She falsettoed her voice and gave the most feminine, soft screech you'd ever heard, causing everyone to laugh once more.
"It did not sound like that," Sam muttered. "I'm too sober for this shit." He waved down Coulson for another one of his drinks.
"Okay, Stark. Give us something, you basically are surrounded by half-men all day. You have to have some funny story." Wanda asked as she set her attention on you.
You felt uneasy with the spotlight now on you. "Uhm," You hesitated. Honestly, you couldn't remember a time that was really funny. You were never invited to those sorts of hangouts. "I don't know."
"What?" Natasha was still smiling, but it was slightly falling as she shook her head. "You have to have something."
"I actually want to circle back to when Sam tried to flirt with that stripper who immediately tried to make him her toddler's daddy." You hoped the reference would side-track the table, which it immediately did as Wanda and Natasha cackled.
The look on Steve's face was telling; he knew exactly what was going on inside your head, and that was scary. You were quick to notice that was the first time Bucky had laid eyes on you, too. You turned your head to Wanda as she told the story, Sam trying his best to shut her up as she spoke.
Steve's face turned to stone, but inside, he was going over a thousand different thoughts. The first step to his new plan was getting Bucky and yourself acquainted.
"Bucky, do you think you could take Stark home for me?"

Damian (Gremlin) Wayne...and his even more gremlin-esque family
A newly introduced Damian sits in Bruce's Bat-chair, observing his new "siblings" with judgmental eyes. His emerald green ones rolling into the back of his head at the ex-carny babying him: "Look you fool, I shall let you know right now that your efforts to entertain me like I'm some child will prove fruitless. Whatever I have done to make you think I'm approachable, forgive me, because I already hate you."
Richard's smile slowly fades and he clears his throat. His medium blue eyes narrowing into a suspicious glare, his lips forming a tight lipped smile: "Right down to business I see? I'll have you know that you may be the baby, but I was Bruce's first one. Whatever title you held before doesn't matter now...in fact, I would suggest you get rid of it before someone helps you get rid of it."
Damian scoffs and picks at his nails, swiveling side to side in HIS father's chair: "Worried about the competition already? As expected from a weak-willed and spineless peasant such as yourself. I suggest whatever title you held before-" his green eyes rake up and down Richard's lithe form like a predator with it's prey-"Which from your disposition I would say you are the favorite-ah! Or I should say EX favorite."
Jason grunts from where he's punching at a dummy: "Look you little shit. All we did was exist-"
Damian: "Then stop."
Jason: *stops punching to glare at the small fry* "Ex-fucking-cuse me? I already un-existed before, I am NOT doing that again. And drop the attitude before I drop kick you back to your mother."
Damian: "How cute. It's like a puppy learning to bark for the first time. I can already tell you are desperate for my father's attention like a dehydrated ma-"
Jason: *cocks his gun and points it at Damian* "Did no one tell you along the way here that I don't mind killing for Bruce? Would've tried to get rid of Bozo the Clown over there if I knew I could get away with it. And then I'd shoot Bruce myself."
Tim looks up from his tablet with a sigh: "Trying to kill another bird I see? I guess I wasn't enough for you?"
Jason: "That was due to my pit induced rage. I had no control over that-" gestures towards Damian-"But this overly confident little bitch is a choice."
Tim raises his hands in defeat: "Just saying that you shouldn't threaten the new one so soon. Plus...I'm the smart one, Bruce needs me more than all of you combined. And I know everyone's weaknesses well, do you really want to test me?"
Damian sighs and finally hops down from the chair: "Childs play. My mother has made sure I knew everything from acrobatics to knowledge of cultures, religions, languages, books and other things you plebeians would surely combust from the brains it takes to memorize such things. She made sure I had it all so I can replace all of you. And father will be mine and mine alone."
Richard plasters a friendly smile back on his face: "Seems like the one spot she missed was etiquette. Don't worry kid, I'll be happy to show you the way things work around here."
Before the argument can get further out of hand, a clearing of the throat stops the four boys. They quickly turn to see Alfred standing at the bottom of the cave steps with a tray full of cookies.
Polished shoes click across the cave floors unhurriedly, the older gentleman quietly serving the boys their cookies and turning to leave. Not before clearing his throat once again and turning to give the four boys stern looks.
Alfred: "All this bickering is pointless. You all are now family and I hope you lot will act like it. Master Bruce is already making arrangements for your schooling young master Damian, and he expects a somewhat peaceful dinner tonight."
The older man can't help the small smirk he gives, one that is confident and self-assured. "Plus, as long as I am here, there is NOT much competition. You may be his first child master Richard, but I am his first partner in anything he's done. I do hope from here on out you ALL will remember your places. Good day."
The four boys frown at the authority radiating from the usually calm butler.
Damian clicks his tongue and slinks into the shadows while silently plotting his new victims demise.
(Hello everyone! I write fics on AO3 by the same name, Thicc_Personality. I'm sorry this is my first post and it's nothing but chaos, threats and crack...they truly (do) care for each other, they just don't know it atm XD. But I am a sucker for gremlin bat family and an oblivious Bruce to the very obvious competition. That or he lets it slide so easily (especially for Damian) cause he thinks his baby son is the cutest thing ever. If anyone manages to see this...well, I hope there was some enjoyment found here xD. Stay safe, happy, healthy and of course lovely as always. 💜)

Saying that I hate Nolan's Batman in a room full of man just to feel something
But here's a random list of my rating of different Batman that nobody asked because I love giving my opinion
The Dark Knight Trilogy: Solid Batman, hate the Bruce Wayne. Brucie, the public persona, is supposed to be a bimbo that cares for the city, not a rude arrogant prick that sinks the Wayne name. It completely butchered his relationship with Harvey too for... *checks notes* Rachel? Nahhh 2/10, a male fantasy movie but it gets one point for showing his training years and another for some cool one-liners
The Batman (2022) – I love the movie and that's top Batman to me, especially the last scene. Batman is a symbol of hope, compassion. I had the same problem as the Nolan's one for the larger portion of the movie: instead of using the Wayne Inc. to do good, he doesn't care about his parent's heirloom and drowns into being Batman. HOWEVER, it's pretty clear how raw and wounded he still is, and after the whole Riddler deal, I can see him turning this around and doing good as Bruce Wayne too. My fav live action movie but it gets a 8.5/10 on characterization
The Long Halloween, Comic – classic Batman, I like his personality and how he lets Batman and Bruce work together to do better to the city. A inspiration for the 2022 movie too. 9/10
The Long Halloween, Tomorrowverse – butchered the storyline and I shit you not Bruce says "I never thought I would need to do detective work to be Batman". Made him all muscle and no brain. Cool art but it doesn't even get a point for it, couldn't bring myself to watch more than 20 minutes of the part two. I kinda liked how he acts with Selina though. Yet, keeps it at -10/0
The Arkham Games – I watched the Arkham Knight gameplay like it was a movie and then watched scenes from other games on yt. That's the ideal way Batman operates to me. Thing dreams are made of. Also balanced on his public facade. 9/10
Batman The Animated Series, Timmverse – can't ask for better. Always offering rehabilitation to villains? Showing empathy for freeze and ivy and Harley!? and his friendship with Harvey? 10/10
Justice League: Unlimited – The timmverse gets him right and I love to notice how he progressed as a character. Love how they write Bruce's friendship with Clark and true partnership with other Leaguers. Also love his relationship with Diana, wonderbat forever. 10/10
Batman, Tv animation (2004) – The story is tailored to be palatable to kids so they changed some elements. It's fun to watch tho, 7/10
Batman Vs. Superman – guilt-ridden, PTSD older Batman? Pretty solid on the premise and I could see any Batman acting that way with enough groundwork. I just don't like the whole marking criminal and sending them to prison to die. Bruce wouldn't, doesn't matter how grief stricken he is. 8.8/10
Gotham (Tv Series) – Eh. Young chaotic Bruce. The focus of the series is on the villains and I didn't even pay too much attention to him tbh. I love a disaster teenager Bruce tho, 7.6/10
Young Justice – Gets points for bonding with Dick earlier in the series and for later showing him operating with a larger Batfam. Also accurate on the way Batman operates. He would leave the League because he's not about being part of a society or the status that come with it. The League had a purpose, which was facilitating saving people. Than he couldn't save people with it? He left. 9/10
Superhero Girls – exploring him being Kardashian-level celebrity?? Hilarious. But I don't like the other implications the show makes about him as Batman. 3/10
The Killing Joke, animated movie – something about how he acts throws me off. Older Batman but done badly. I think they don't work enough to drive him to murder. Should have left him kill Joker when Jason died. 2/10
Ninja Batman – The writers had LSD to write it. Insane. Hilarious. Didn't like that he was "oooh I don't have tech what will I do? :(" Batman is a survivalist so be for real. 4/10
Year Zero (comic) – hate that buzz cut. He wouldn't. Otherwise solid. Also another inspo to 2022 movie. 6/10
Year One (comic) – classic backstory, can't ask for anything else on personality matter. The fact he hallucinated a bat while he was concussed and thus made himself Batman because he thought it was rad? Peak characterization. 10/10
Harleen (comic) – He's not the focus of the story but I do love when they show how much sheer power the Wayne name carries. He has a steady hand over Gotham, a background influence constant and unwavering. Also that dialogue on the end where he's blaming himself for everything that happened even though it's not his fault? Yeah, it tracks. 9/10
Turning Points (comic) – the way he acts... He's such a theater kid. Also accurate on how Robin happened and I love he doesn't try to fight Gordon but humbly accepts Jim is going to hunt him if something happens to Robin. 9/10
There's a black and white one shot comic that Dan Mora made that I can't rember the name but?? Bruce adopting Jason, Dick and Tim in one go?? Can't go wrong for me. I am also not immune to how Mr. Mora draws Bruce. 100/10
The goal of this year is to watch more timmverse and read more comics with the batkids

I’m hoping I can put my thoughts into words without seeming stupid.
I think part of the reason writers keep regressing Barbara from oracle back to batgirl (besides admittedly sexism, ableism, and retro…ism-getting rid of replacement heroes for the one the writer grew up with), is that’s the simplest version to present to a wider audience because of her “origin”. Ok, here’s where it gets rambly.
For a long time, the best way to introduce characters and concepts to new fans was in kids cartoons. I know that’s not true anymore, and audiences can be introduced to a character through an r rated movie or something, but the former shouldn’t be discounted as a strategy either.
Ok, say there’s a new all ages bat family cartoon. It has Barbara as oracle, she’s smart, cool and good disability rep, great, awesome. But then the kids at home might wonder “hey, how did babs end up in that wheelchair?”. I suppose the show could go into the killing joke…..but then you get to the sexual assault part. You may agree tkj is a great story, but I imagine any parent would go “OH MY GOD” and turn the show off.
I suppose this hypothetical show could have babs get paralyzed a different way, I don’t know the answers, I’m just giving my 2 cents on the upper management’s position.
Like I said, I hope this doesn’t all seem stupid
But like you literally just defeated your previous points in that second to last paragraph. You're right. Babs being put in a wheelchair isn't actually dependent on TKJ--it's not dependent on the sexual assault aspect of that story, either. The Arkham video games just had the Joker shoot Babs and take pictures of her bleeding on the floor, and you still had plenty of emotional devastation and trauma without the undressing factor. Hell, it's not clear if Babs was actually Batgirl at the time of TKJ because TKJ was meant to be this standalone story that was implied to be pretty late in Batman's career as Batman. You could easily replace Barbara's paralyzation in TKJ with any number of dirty, brutal scrapes she could get into as Batgirl.
The how of Barbara's paralyzation doesn't actually matter, what matters is that she rises from the ashes as Oracle and becomes something that's way more far-reaching and influential than Batgirl ever was. Oracle being wheelchair-bound isn't just important disability representation, either, it actually establishes that there are stakes in this comic book universe, that it's not always either 'good guys win' or 'dying heroically' that life is messier and more complicated than that, but you figure out ways to keep going and you have to grow into your own person, no matter how uncomfortable your presence makes other people (though clearly her presence in a wheelchair makes DC very uncomfortable...). It's also not just about Batman man-pain, but putting Batman in this very important morally ambiguous position where it's like, "Hey dude, fucked up shit can happen when you drag teenagers into your bullshit. You're supposed to be the adult, here." Again, it establishes stakes. Batgirl just shoves her back into Bruce's shadow.
Also who's to say a show can't start out with Babs already in a wheelchair?

Jason Todd relationship HCs
Let's make one thing clear, dating anyone in the vigilante business is bound to be chaos. It doesn't help that you're just a civilian, with absolutely no training in the medical field, because now you have to take care of a full grown man that doesn't give two shits about his own health.
Seriously, he doesn't care.
But anyways
Jason Todd isn't the best partner to ever exist. To be honest you only see him in the day time, and even then he is probably napping or trying to solve a case.
But that doesn't mean he doesn't try when it comes to you, because he does. He knows he can't and will never be the perfect partner because of his nightly activities, but he would be damned if he didn't atleast try.
My man here is a lover of romance. He loves the idea of having someone that he can rely on, and fight for.
He absolutely does take ideas from the books he reads, and it's the most heartwarming thing to ever exist.
And I know you guys are probably thinking of him showing up at your apartment with flowers, but that isn't what I'm talking about.
No, this man would go the extra mile and write you love poems and leave them at your workplace or apartment. He will set up a whole picnic outside the city, and take you on his motorcycle and spend the rest of the afternoon in the woods reading to you as you lay on him.
He would set up a candle lit dinner, the dinner in question is probably fast food, but the set up? It looks like something from out of a movie. Besides fast food is always better than a fancy meal that hardly tastes like anything.
Of course these aren't regular occurrences, besides the love poems which are daily, they usually happen on special occasions or after a close call with death.
Jason isn't the best at communicating his feelings and his past. I think he definitely tries but after everything that has happened to him it's extremely hard.
It's even harder for him to trust someone, and let down his walls for them. That includes his partner too.
It takes a long time for Jason to fully open up to you, and you get that. You have repeatedly told him, that you were fine with not knowing many things regarding his nightly activities.
But of course he has told you what you need to know, but the things like his death and his relationship with Bruce and the family is something that takes time for him to talk about.
Speaking of Bruce and the others.
They do know about you, and have at least met you a few times but depending on where Jason is mentally and stuff I do not see you being best friends with them
Of course it's probably been a year or more of you dating Jason for him to even talk about Bruce.
I don't think Jason would ever take you to the mansion, and you would never go unless you told Jason before and he was comfortable with it.
His family isn't the healthiest one, and Jason doesn't want them budding in his personal life because honestly he doesn't care for them.
Well I mean he obviously cares for them, but ever since his death and resurrection he doesn't want anything to do with them.
He's happy just working with them from time to time on missions and stuff
To be honest it's probably not until years after you get into a relationship with Jason, that you actually gain a solid connection with some of his 'siblings'.
They just all know you exist, and respect you, and quite honestly are happy that Jason found someone that wants to love him and help him through everything.
Jason would definitely get a dog or cat for you and him to care for. The furbaby lives in your apartment, and Jason sees it as another reason why he should just sleep at your place instead of the dingy safehouse he calls home.
Yes, he does live in a safehouse in Gotham. It's probably a Warehouse he bought when he first came back to Gotham city to kill Joker.
The little animal adores Jason, and you have so many photos of Jason passed out on the couch with the dog/cat laying on him
Jason doesn't want you getting involved in his nightly activities, and would never purposely get you involved either.
Whenever he is out on patrol, he stays far away from your apartment unless he's working on a case that is close to where you live.
I even think he would go to his safehouse and take off his suit and then go to your apartment after patrol so that nobody would see red hood going to your apartment
He takes your safety extremely seriously.
You are the one thing in his life that he loves, and he doesn't want you to have to go through anything traumatic just because you're in a relationship with him.
That being said you do live in Gotham city, so you are bound to get into at least some trouble.
Either it's getting mugged, or being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
When that does happen and he swoops in to save you, he would pretend that he doesn't know you.
He's talked to you about it before and you both agreed that it would be safer for you if he just pretends he doesn't know you if he ends up seeing you when he is the Red Hood
He definitely forces you to learn at least some self defence, whether it be from a class, or him teaching you.
Jason always tells you before he leaves Gotham to do Red Hood related things, he even would text you when a case is taking up most of his time so that you don't think he is ignoring you.
He doesn't want there to be any misunderstandings.
I don't see him really being the clingy type of person, I mean of course he does love cuddling with you but he would never go out of his way to give you affection.
Touch is something he has a weird relationship with since Bruce raised him to be anything but affectionate and cuddly.
He loves cuddling with you, but it's not a daily occurrence that he goes to your apartment and drags you to the couch or bedroom. That only happens after he has a confrontation with Bruce and needs some tender loving care.
He does have nicknames for you
For example: sweetheart, babe, and honey
They aren't overly cheesy or romantic, they are just nicknames he thinks fit you
The relationship you have with Jason Todd may not be the most normal, but you do not care and neither does he.
You love each other, and that's all that really matters.
An: I love him your honor

The Arrangement
Ch 7 - Discussion
Prev | Next
"I believe that went well enough" Syn said as they pulled over a few blocks away from her apartment. Just to be safe.
"Alfred is on our side. That we can assure" Damian said more for himself than for her.
"Yes, at least someone was won over tonight."
Tonight was less of a dinner and more like a calculated integration which wasn't surprising she just thought they'd be more subtle about it. Apparently not. " Tonight did not go as planned and for that I apologize".
"Don't be," she said, smiling at him. Damian takes her hand and gives it a gentle squeeze." I knew what I was getting myself into"
"It shouldn't have been that way."
"Perhaps time will help." he nodded but didn't believe it.
Not one bit.
-
Syn once again did not stay the night and instead fled into the night away from the family upon Damian insistence. He didn't want her to spend the night after dinner, fearing that his family would ambush her into a more proper integration. He was very adamant that she doesn't interact with his family, besides Alfred, without him present. He knew how she was and how his family was and knew what they would do to her. Despite being raised by Assassins, Syn somehow was still emotionally and mentally sensitive (In Damian's opinion), at least to those she deemed close, important, and family. He knew she had placed his family in the category of important, and that, unfortunately, gave them the power to hurt her without even touching her. And they would, knowing or not knowing they would.  So He'd keep them away and her save for as long as possible. Or as long as they kept this shit up.
His family were assholes.
-
Silence was a very good intimidation tactic, especially when paired with small sounds. Like right now, Damian has been sitting across from his father's desk for the last 10 minutes, listening to nothing but the sound of his father typing away at his laptop. Honestly, it annoyed Damian rather than intimidated him. That's probably what his father wanted.
"she's gone." It wasn't a question.
"Indeed"
"When will she be back?"
"That is up to her." That's a lie. Damian had forbidden her from stepping foot in Gotham without his permission. Although if she asked, he wouldn't hesitate to allow her back into the city. Walk her in himself.
"How much do you know about her family?"
"I lived with them for a short period. They are honorable in their own way.
"They're assassins for hire."
"I said they are honorable not good. They have their oen honor code, values, and rules."
All the training in the world couldn't hide anger and digust. " They kill people"
"If this is all you wish to discuss. I'll take my leave" he stood up and turn to leave. He was done with this conversation. He should have never let it happened.
" I spoke with Dick. He told me of your plans to marry her." Damian scold as he gripped the back of the chair his back still to Bruce.
He should have known Grayson wouldn't have kept their conversation private, he shouldn't have assumed. This was not a conversation he wanted to have. He didn't want to speak to his father about any of this. He already made his views on Syn and her family clear. He didn't want to hear it.
"I'm going to marry her. we do not need your approval. She will be my wife, my family, whether you like it or not." He turns around to look at him " What I said to Dick stands. I will have my life with her with ot without you. You still have time . I'd recommend using it to get your head out of your ass."
Okay. Okay. Okay. That last comment was a bit much even he realized that after he left. But he, much like his father, was too prideful to turn around. Bruce couldn't really be angry, he was the cause of this.
Honestly, Bruce had never taken to any romantic partners in the family with the exception of Barbara and Stephanie. Barbara was part of the family and business before Dating Dick So it was allowed. She was a valued member. Stephanie joined the business and the family after breaking up with Tim so it was allowed once again. Any other romantic partners however not so much. StarFire was not approved Bruce caution Dick going into the relationship and forbid them from being public( which actually made sense her being a 6ft orange lady). Bruce didn't care for any of Tim's partners and no matter how series they got forbid him from revealing the family secret which actually lead to some of them ending. Same for Duke. No one likes being stood up with no reason. And if Jason had a romantic partner beyond a fling no one was aware of it. ( They were all quietly rooting for Roy)
Everyone's romantic life was either suffering or nonexistent. Damian didn't want to suffer like them. He had something and it was good even if they couldn't see it.

stolen tires, chapter five
jason returns to gotham after the world believed him to be dead. heavily inspired by the film, under the red hood.
tw: mentions of death, angst, self loathing, grief, abuse
"Well that was close." Roy said, mock wiping sweat off his brow.
I rolled my eyes and turned to Koriand'r.
"So what were you saying before we got so rudely interrupted by Mr. Bruce Wayne?" I said.
I was shaken over the fact that he had walked up to us. I hadn't seen Bruce in over five years and I honestly don't know how I feel. The moment he walked in I felt as though I would start yelling at him or crying. Either way I had emotions bottled up inside me with nowhere to go.
"Right, I was thinking of forming a team of our own. I left the titans a while ago and Roy isn't Oliver's sidekick anymore so I thought we could make a little trio of misfits and fight crime together. It doesn't even have to be based in Gotham. There's so many place we could go." She explained.
I had to admit, this was a good idea. The three of us could make a well oiled team. I saw the possibilities but for right now my focus was on Bruce. I would have to decide some other time.
"Are you in Jason?" Roy asked.
The two looked at me expectantly, waiting for an answer. I couldn't let them down but I also didn't want to make a decision I would regret later on so I said, "Give me a day or so to make up my mind, this is a serious commitment and last time I checked Roy, you're not so good with commitment."
Roy chuckled and said, "You've got forty-eight hours to decide, otherwise... BANG! You're dead."
I laughed along with him and Kori smiled at us and said, "Well I've got to go. I'm meeting up with Dick."
After Kori left, Roy and I had a drink and then left the club. We said our goodbyes and I made my way to my car while Roy went to his. My car was parked out back behind the club in near a narrow alley. I walked to the parking in the back and heard a crash. I jogged in the direction the sound came from and saw my car's tires being removed by a boy who looked about thirteen with shaggy hair and torn clothes hanging off his body. He was on his knees, wrench in one hand and the other was holding onto the tire. He was stealing the tires of my car. I had to get these tires. They were in perfect condition and clearly looked expensive. I was rushing to unscrew the tires from the sleek, black car. It was a beautiful car and I almost felt bad for dismembering it but I needed the money these tires would provide me with. I might even be able to afford a new pair of shoes! Before I could finish taking off the second tire, I heard footsteps and someone clearing their throat. I froze. Shit. I had been caught. I turned around to see a tall, dark figure. It was him. It was the Batman. Out of all the tires I could steal, I somehow came across his car and his tires! Just my luck.
"Care to explain what you think you're doing?" He said. His voice was just as intimidating as his height.
"U-um. Sorry, Batman sir. My parents, my parents are dead and I need money and food." I stuttered. Was he going to kill me? Wait, he doesn't kill. I was at least safe from that fate.  "Come with me. I might be able to help with that." He said. So I followed.
"Sorry mister. I needed the money and food those tires could give me. Can you spare some change mister?" I heard.
I looked down at the kid and felt a twinge of pain. He was just like me. I crouched down and pulled out my wallet. I took out three hundred dollar bills and some loose change. It was all I had with me. I didn't need it half as much as he did.
"Here you go kid, spend it wisely. I was just like you once. I did the same thing, stole tires for a living. Be strong and you'll make it through." I said, smiling I handed him the money and gave him a pat on the shoulders. He looked at me with a look of gratefulness and for a moment I thought he was going to cry. Instead, with the money clutched in his fist, he threw his arms around my torso and hugged me. I hesitated but gave into the hug, wrapping my own arms around his frail figure. He pulled away, smiled at me and turned around and ran off into the alley. I stood in the alley for a moment, wondering what had just happened. I shook my head and crouched down to restore the tires and make my way home.
When I arrived home, I plopped down on my couch. I sat there and took a breath for a second, rewinding everything that had happened so far and planning out everything I was going to do. I sighed and went to freshen up a bit before tracking the shipment that was supposed to arrive at the docks later.  "The shipment is a robot. Why would Kord Industries send a robot, and that an amazo robot to Gotham? It would be better off in Metropolis where there's actual superhumans. I mean isn't that the whole point of an amazo in the first place? Suck up all the abilities of a superhuman? Do you think there's metahumans here? Or maybe they're trying to take Batman's 'powers'." Roy said.  Since we found out what the shipment is we've been trying to figure out what it could possibly be doing in Gotham. We were keeping watch of the docks over a rooftop trying to hide from plainsight at the same time. Because of Roy Bruce knows where I'm going to be tonight so I'm trying to be a bit more stealthy.
"Four armed hostiles at twelve." I said.
There were four armed men. Two were sitting on the dock and the other two were keeping watch and walking in lines back and forth.
"Shoot an exploding arrow towards the dock to get rid of them." I told Roy.
He looked at me smiling through his mask and was already pulling back his bow with the exploding arrow.
I counted down and he shot the arrow. The men were most likely dead but who were we to care, they were probably part of Black Mask's operations. This whole thing was probably funded by him. Roy and I were getting ready to jump of the rooftop when a batarang was thrown our direction. The batarang scraped my arm and left a small scratch. It landed in the wall right in between us. I looked back to see the Bat himself and his little sidekick Nightwing.
"Look who decided to show up, the Bat and his trusty sidekick Robin." I spat.
"Sidekick?! I'll have you know that I am no longer anyone's sidekick bucket head." He retorted.
I couldn't help but laugh at his remark. Dick really thought he wasn't a sidekick anymore just because he wore a new suit.
"Who are you?" Bruce grunted
"He speaks!" I said back.
This whole time he had been quiet, no doubt he was trying to figure out who I am.
"I asked you once, I'm not going to ask again."
"Yeah I'm totally gonna tell you who I am right away. No, I want you to go crazy over this. There's no doubt you're already obsessing over trying to figure out who I am. I want you to be a clueless. And they call you the world's greatest detective. Yeah right." I scoffed.
He glared and made his way forward but by the time he took one step forward I took two back, Roy and I fell backwards off the roof, he shot a grappling arrow to the right and I shot my grappling hook towards the left. We split up to make it harder to track both of us. I ran as fast I could towards the closest building with Bruce right on my tail. I jumped up onto a wall and grabbed onto anything I could, window sills most commonly. I scaled the walls but being over two hundred pounds of muscle I had some trouble, as did he. I made it up to the rooftop and ran across, jumping onto the next and using my grappling hook occasionally to provide backup in case I lose footing. Bruce threw a nylon cord around my ankle but before it could wrap around too tightly I pulled out my knife and sliced through it in one swift motion. I kept running across rooftops and I saw a motorbike below me. I had to do it. I closed my eyes, took a breath and jumped down, landing on my side causing the impact to knock the wind out of me. Quickly recovering I scrambled to get up and ran to the bike and hopped on. I revved the engine and just as Bruce made it down I yelled,
"You haven't lost your touch Bru-" I was cut off by a bus driving between us. By the time the bus left I was already gone and Bruce was left in the dust.

Some Kazuya stans really strike me as the type to justify Kaz's actions but when it comes to Jin he's the real villain or something bc he started the war, therefore Kaz "isn't as bad". We all know the terrible damage Tek 6 did to Jin's character yet it's like they fail to acknowledge that. And then they say Jin has no care for anyone, when the entirety of the games say otherwise (I hope that with 8 the Jin slander will be less). They do not know Jin as well as their fave and it shows
This exactly! The thing with Jin is that we had quite a few games to know what his character was before Tek6. He didn't transition like Kaz where he was the protag in one game, then a villain in the rest. No, Jin was a protag in all his appearances up until Tek6, then he's the protag again in Tek8. SO, that's to take into consideration as to why Jin's the current protagonist, and why Jin fans feel a certain way.
When Kazuya kills people, kidnaps people and coerces them into doing jobs, smuggles animals and other illegal things, do inhumane experimentation on animals... it's okay because he was influenced by the devil. But if a fan dare suggests that maybe T8 could retcon T6 by saying Jin was taken over by the devil, then it's "NOPE, NOPE!! JIN WAS IN FULL CONTROL. HE DID THOSE EVIL ACTIONS ALL ON HIS OWN. HE IS IRREDEEMABLE!" When Kazuya kills the G-Corp employees, it's okay because they tried to kill him and therefore they were the evil ones. (Even if not all of t hem were bad). When Jin tries to kill Heihachi and Kazuya for being evil pieces of shits, then that was EVIDENCE that Jin was "evil" all along because a protagonist would never kill anyone no matter how evil they are. When Kazuya kills Heihachi, it's a good thing because Heihachi was evil. When Kazuya continues the war and conquers nations and kills innocents, it's okay because... Jin did it first, so Kaz isn't as bad????? That, or they just straight up ignore Kazuya's actions like that Reddit post did by essentially insinuating that Kazuya has only ever opposed Jin and Heihachi LMAO.
Also actively ignoring all the tragedy Jin went through, too. They'll never bring up how Jin was literally abused and then murdered by Heihachi - no, Kazuya endured that as a child, so it doesn't matter if Jin endured it as a teenager because abuse doesn't affect you once you're that old. Or, how, unlike Kaz, Jin refuses to give into his devil because he doesn't want to go down a dark path.
And like. If Jin doesn't care about anyone making him the True Bad Guy... then what about Kazuya? Kazuya has only been shown to care about 3 people in the series. His grandfather, Jun, and his mother. That's it. (Maaybe Bruce? But I'm unsure). So, what makes either of them "better" in this aspect?
I think the funniest thing is, these fans don't wanna buy that "Jin is good" just because the game told them so (Tek8) but they will quickly eat up "Jin is bad" just because the game told them so (Tek6) despite how Jin being bad makes as little sense as him suddenly being good again. Like the writing is atrocious, yet they pick one atrocious writing over the other.
I AM hoping Tek8 will clear up the slander a bit. I think it will if it writes Jin well enough, which... it's already doing imo. The only bad thing we see so far is the story often bringing up Tek6 again to Remind Everyone. But who knows, we'll see once the game comes out - maybe they'll do something good with it. But regardless, I think the slander will become less. Just because when fans see Jin being Good and actually Caring and not like his Tek6 self, many ppl (especially new fans) will forget about Tek6. Especially when they compare Tek8 Jin to the other Tek games that aren't 6.
Finally, I just don't really understand it. Like a character can be your fav, and you can even wish they were the protag or want to see them be redeem. But actively putting down a character just to prop them up, all while ignoring that your fav has done just as bad of actions. Like yeah, I do acknowledge what Jin did in 6, and no, canonically, I don't really think he can be fully redeemed unless they retcon it. However, I still acknowledge 6 was poorly written and Jin was obviously out of character when comparing him to his behavior in other games. I still acknowledge that Jin being a villain was a creative difference amongst the director and writers, with the writers being the one who didn't want to make Jin a villain, because obviously that's redundant and not the point of the character. And on my blog, I just write the story differently so that it's more coherent with the characters and their motives, by saying the Devil did it, and not the human. But in the end, I'm still not denying what happened, and I'm not gonna go on a discussion board acting like my headcanons are Truth.

thinkin about... our modern gritty dark Batman getting pulled back into the Silver Age somehow... and seeing all these villains that (from his perspective ((he has only experienced the modern age))) have killed so many innocent people and caused massive devastation... but all they're doing now is robbing banks and putting dish soap on the roads so the police can't catch them... what would this tortured Batman think and feel about these "monsters" convincing Robin to stay inside and watch cartoons all day (this is their entire evil scheme)... would he be happy? could he enjoy being Batman again if his villains reverted to their goofy goober state? i am... thinking.... about it... would like your opinions ( ╹▽╹ )
Anon, I promise I'm going to answer your question, but first I'm compelled to clear up a misconception about the Silver Age. (If you don't give a crap about this, you can skip ahead to the bats.)
The Silver Age of comics, between 1956 and 1970, is known for being chock full of goofy shit due to the introduction of the Comics Code Authority. Superheroes are already silly in many ways, but in the Silver Age it often got silly in this way:
Tumblr media
[from World's Finest Comics #128, September 1962]
However, while the Silver Age ramped up fantastical plots and used a light-hearted tone, that doesn't mean characters' lives stopped being at stake. Sure, the villains' schemes during that period may have involved more robberies than murders, but the villains remained dangerous and not too concerned about getting people killed.
For example, Alfred died!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[from Detective Comics #328, June 1964]
Or here's an instance with a couple of fave villains: Lex Luthor and Joker using a wacky weapon on Superman.
Tumblr media
[from World's Finest Comics #129, November 1962]
This silly-looking concept is actually kinda horrifying. It did wear off, but Superman noted that too many doses could kill him since, you know, his particles were repeatedly separated. The storytelling breezed past this, but the consequences were still there.
Even something as dumb as being attacked with a cactus wasn't banal.
Tumblr media
[from Batman #110, September 1957]
Later in this same story, other guys are firing guns indiscriminately at a wedding.
Tumblr media
The restraints of the Comics Code were not about making the bad guys harmless and did not bar the portrayal of death. Per the text, the Code was more about reminding readers (mainly children) that Crime Is Bad and pushing writers to reflect Good Morality— with no sexy bits. Crime needs consequences and should never be portrayed as glamorous! Legal authorities are good and should be portrayed with respect! And everybody better be fully clothed with no suggestive poses!!
So all that's to say, if Bruce found himself in a Silver-Age throwback, there'd be fewer deaths, I think, but that doesn't mean his job would be easier— especially if he's randomly transforming into a human buzzsaw.
🦇🦇🦇
Alright, with all that out of the way, I would like to answer your question in the spirit of your question. How would modern Batman react to persistent but ultimately harmless villains?
When reading your ask, I first thought you meant modern Bruce getting pulled into a different universe, not the villains being suddenly mentally altered as you say at the end. I'm going to answer for both scenarios just 'cause, and I think the answer is different for each.
In both cases, Bruce would start out thinking it's a trick. The rogues have concocted an elaborate ruse where they all pretend to be benign entities, and he needs to figure out why! After all, they've seemingly reformed before, only to fall back into their criminal ways. Heck, Joker successfully pretended to be a whole other person for months on end, and Bruce completely fell for it. He's not falling for it again!
Bruce also has a history of reacting poorly when just one of the rogues has purportedly changed, much less all of them at once. He's immediately doubtful before he has definitive reason to be. (For examples [yoinked from distortopia], see "the Joker is evil" from Batman: Joker Time #2, "the more content the rat, the less likely he'll leave his hole" about Riddler in Detective Comics #837, and "the moment you return, I'm under suspicion" from Two-Face in Batman/Two-Face: Face the Face.) It's true that he's often right and the rogue has turned back to crime, but still. What's the point of continually sparing their lives and handing them over to Arkham or prison if he doesn't see rehabilitation as a possibility? Shouldn't he at least be hopeful in the face of positive developments?
Instead, in this scenario, Bruce probably gets so focused on figuring out the truth that he ends up "interrogating" a number of the rogues, and it goes too far.
That's probably when the suspicion stage ends. Bruce recognizes that the rogues are not putting him on. This is just how they are now: their schemes amount to mere shenanigans.
At this point in an alternate universe, I think Bruce then accepts the change precisely because the villains are not "his." They're the combatants of some other Batman who has much lower stakes to worry about. He probably feels jealous that this Batman's war on crime is closer to having an end. Perhaps for a moment he entertains the idea of staying— but the thought passes quickly, because Bruce took on responsibility for his Gotham and would never abandon it.
In his own world, I think Bruce perceives the change very differently. Sure, he feels relief that the death count from these absolute maniacs has cratered. But as time goes on, I think the change nags at him. It's so drastic to go from near-constant DEFCON1 to like… a neverending children's birthday party. How could the rogues change so easily without a care? It's not like Batman couldn't have achieved this state of affairs on his own. Hatter tech is available! Yet as far as I know, he's never used it to tame his adversaries. Mind control isn't lethal, but it's a line Bruce has never crossed. If the rogues change, he wants it to be on their own.
Whatever happened to the rogues cannot have been their own doing. Their violent crimes were caused by their own fixations and greed, and they simply can't have just let that all go after years and years. And Bruce knows this because he fought them for those years, because he never relented no matter how impossible the situation, because he's been obsessed with saving Gotham City since he was a child. If he can't let go, how could they? If they can, what does that say about him?
I think Bruce then pivots from thinking the rogues are up to something to blaming an outside party or force for the change, and he spends a lot of time trying to figure out who or what it was.
And all the while, 1) he's vigilant for signs that the villains have reverted. After all, if they do, and he's not ready and people die, it's his fault. And 2) the rogues are still committing goofy crimes. They're not dangerous, but I'm sure they're obnoxious as hell— and they're still guilty of their previous awful crimes, even if now they can't imagine doing such un-fun things! Inevitably it would grate on Bruce too much and he'd take the stress of the unsolvable mystery out on them. Again.
Apologies if you were looking for a fluffier answer! Unfortunately, Bruce has always been so stuck on being Batman that I think it would be years before he could truly accept harmless rogues and see any kind of solace in them. He could get there, but it'd be a long road (hopefully not so long that it ends at his death bed).
