Do you guys (gender-neutral) know of a good alternative to Google Docs? I've been using it for years and I want to move my writing off of it. Because Google is planning to start this, and I don't want that to happen to my writing. Even if it's in a really rough state.

I should also explain my current writing system (as of August 2023). This is extremely simplified by the way, also there is some overlap between different programs/apps.

~My current writing system~

Google Docs: Online backup of drafts, random lore tidbits, practice drafts, chapter outlines, story arc outlines, character sheets, basic worldbuilding, etc. The bulk of my writing stuff happens here.

LibreOffice: Everything that Google Docs does but offline

Pluot: Lore, detailed worldbuilding, character sheets, story arc outlines, chapter outlines

Notion: Visualizing timelines, compiling everything into a "wiki"

Also, just to let you know, I'm on a pretty strict budget. So I can't afford the super-expensive programs or subscription services. I'd prefer to use something that's free, or super cheap.

Okay, so I don't know what to do.

People have been harder for me to trust, when logically, I have no reason to not trust them.

But on the other hand, people I know have been kinda telling me info that I keep to just specific friends or even just stuff that I keep to myself.

Ex: talking to my mom, and she told me something THAT I JUST told to a friend. Like haven't told to anyone before then. Like my stuff was being monitored.

The issue is I KNIW that's not possible cause my mom barely knows how to use a computer.

Also I've really been wanting to wreck my image and how I'm viewed, as well as getting a bunch of intrusive thoughts based around that, manipulating ppl, or just straight up them hurting me or me hurting them. It's weird and it sucks.

Partially unrelated to this a server I was in was recently deleted. (which is sad. Cause I absolutely loved the server, not saying what the server was for, for privacy reasons, close friends and/or ppl who were on it might know.) And it turns out they kinda didn't trust me, which really sucks cause I loved them. But I do understand and don't blame them, there was a lot going on. The issue is, cause of this ig paranoia I've been dealing with around reality or w/e is that I've been trying to go out of my way to act more real, and even I notice how cringe and fake that attempt to act normal/real is. So idk that may be part of the reason they didn't fully trust me.

And once again, this also kinda contributes to the whole idea of everything (reality and stuff) exists only in my head. Maybe everything's just crashing like sensory overload, or not having any storage left, lmao. I dunno I just need help

Red:

Oh, MOST DEFINITELY uses emoticons the most. He's the type to use the most insane ones like╭( ๐_๐)╮and is not above using OwO unironically. Uses all-caps the most, overall VERY expressive in text.

Definitely the one to have the most typos and uses shorthand a lot, but WILL correct when someone else makes a typing error.

Example - "HEYY GUYS hru?? :D" and "NOOO rEuebn in MCSM DIEDDD (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞"

Orange/TSC:

They're a ghoster in chat/J

Types pretty normally, but also uses shorthand a lot. Only uses punctuation and caps when it REALLY counts. Rarely uses emoticons, and uses tone indicators more. Lazy at typing, lmao

Example - "hey what's up?" and "oh dang, rlly? that sucks/gen"

Yellow:

Everything he types is in perfect grammar, punctuation, and spelling. This, of course, leads to him being a bit of a slow typer.

He almost-never uses shorthand, same goes for emoticons. He uses tone indicators, though! And not above using multiple letters like "Helloooo!"

When he makes a single typo, everyone goes crazy and is quick to joke about it. Always quick to correct any typing mistakes.

Example - "I think you mean *Reuben, @/Red, and wasn't there an option to save him? /genq"

Green:

Green, Mr. Everything-must-be-perfect Green? He tries to NEVER make a typo, and is quite fast at typing. Manages to maintain perfect typing even in a fast pace.

(The same outcome from Yellow happens to him if he makes a typing mistake, but gets clowned on a lot less since he'd definitely make more typos than Yellow ever would)

Similar to Yellow, he tries to maintain perfect everything for typing, but he DOES use emoticons and shorthands! Also drags on some words with extra letters, of course.

Example - "Yeaah, I think so?? But the scene where he turns into a porkchop is hilarious lmaooo" and "Oh heyy @/Blue and @/Purple are both online! Hey, guys <3"

Blue:

Has a typing style similar to Orange’s, but uses caps and emoticons a lot more! Doesn't quite care about typing errors unless it's something important. Nothing much to add to this, to be honest.

Example - "Heyyy! ^^" and "The cutsecene was actually pretty funny ngl, it made teh sad moment less sad tho :P"

Purple:

Their typing style used to be extremely perfect, but as time went on, they stopped caring too much. Of course, they use proper spelling and doesn't use shorthand too often, but they do allow themselves to be imperfect!

They use tone indicators more than shorthand, but they do use stuff like "lmaoo" and "wtf" sometimes!

Example - "Wait tf who's Reuben? /genq" and "@/Red I am so sorry for your loss.."

King Orange/King Mango:

Perfect typing, doesn't even try. Doesn't use emoticons, doesn't use shorthand, doesn't use tone indicators. Uses emojis.

Doesn't understand what "lol" means. His typing style reflects his speaking style.

Example - "@/Purple, I do believe that @/Red is referring to the show he's been watching." and "You all must go to sleep, it's late! You kids need more time to grow."

Purple: "Dad we're all young adults-"

KM: "Oh, that's right 🫢. Indeed, you are.."

Red: "o l d XD"

Oh he definitely does not know what a period is, do you really thing Pam ever told him? If anything he might have heard mentions from campers while he was.. sizing them up before his attack.. but even then that's being generous! Very anxious the first time you have your cycle around him, but he seems to calm down significantly when you explain. It's not so much that its blood, it's the fact that it's coming from you and he doesnt understand why. Very caring, wont let you do anything around the cabin. Takes you out for fresh air, he doesnt mind carrying you! He feels so so helpless if he cant take your cramps away.. generally hes an angel with how he treats you, even with the learning curve!

Michael

Between the three hes the most.. normal about it. Nonchalant, even. Hes not at all phased by blood, that much is obvious thanks to the occasional nights where he comes back home covered in the stuff. Hes a little.. uncaring.. when it comes to helping you. Is that the correct word? He will silently grab you a blanket or some pain killers if you need it- but hes not going to cuddle with you on the floor.. comfort is not Michael's field of expertise, either... though it's not like this behavior is new from him

Brahms

Similar to Jason he probably doesn't know what a period is, or at least not a lot of the details. He's probably heard of it but other than that hes clueless. Pesters you when you start getting down, whether emotionally or physically- it's his own way of seeing if you're sick. Explain to him what's going on because otherwise hes going to bother you about your chores.. oh.. you're hurting and bleeding? You dont.. need to see a doctor, right? No? He does some of the duties around the house- cooking, cleaning, things like that. Hes not totally helpless, though his cooking... could use some work. Tries his hand at making your favorite meals.. fails miserably because hes always had his meals cooked for him.. watching someone cook can only teach you so much, especially when you're watching from the walls

I'm gonna assume this is in good faith because of the tone tags. Normally I'd ignore this bc it looks inflammatory, and is missing the point of what the post in question is trying to make.

Let me put it as clearly as possible. The government should never, under any circumstances, have the power to take away your Human Rights, period. The post itself states this. The point is that they apply to everyone and can't be revoked.

But what about pedophiles and rapists?? Did you know public urination can land someone as a classified sex offender? Did you know in some states of America, they're lobbying for it to be a pedophilic sex crime to be seen in drag, around children? Or anyone under 18yrs of age? Or in public places, at all?

For one, the government is not unbiased in defining what constitutes as a pedophile, sex offender, or rapist. They don't even persecute all of those criminals, especially if they're rich, white or otherwise privileged! People get killed by cops for so much less. There are still problems with this. The state should not get to control who "deserves" death or violence inflicted on them.

So, what About pedophiles and rapists?

-What about them? They're still human.

The moment we start allowing a person's deeds to erase someone's humanity, and therefore the protections every living being inherently needs, we can start labeling anyone we don't like as inhuman. That's not what we want. And we especially do not want a state full of very biased, out of touch and potentially bigoted people (people like everyone else, flaws and all) to make decisions like that. I hope you understand this.

This isn't about how much you hate pedophiles and rapists, or sex offenders, or murderers. This is about humans. All of them.

Because Microsoft is allowing access to AI such as Chat GPT (through Bing), and I'm not comfortable with it*. So I'm jumping ship.

The main things I'm looking for are:
