Les Sorcières du Clan du Nord, Irena Brignull (T.1)

Poppy et Clarée sont deux adolescentes qui ont l’impression de ne pas appartenir à leur monde, mais leurs ressemblances s’arrêtent là. Adolescente rebelle, Poppy se fait renvoyer de toutes les écoles qu’elle fréquente ; Clarée est une jeune sorcière qui a du mal à trouver sa place dans sa communauté de sorcières. Quand elles se rencontrent par hasard, les deux jeunes filles deviennent très proches et se font découvrir leurs mondes respectifs. Mais Poppy est de plus en plus perturbée : les évènements étranges qui l’entourent depuis son enfance, les catastrophes qu’elle semble provoquer sans le vouloir… se pourrait-il qu’elle soit elle-même une sorcière ? Cela aurait-il un lien avec l’ancienne prophétie concernant la venue de la reine des sorcières ?

C’était très sympa à lire, mais j’ai l’impression d’avoir survolé l’histoire. J’ai bien aimé l’ambiance, le lien entre Poppy et Clarée et cette histoire de bébés échangés, mais c’était looooiiin d’être un coup de cœur. Pour moi, c’était plutôt encore un roman oubliable dans 2-3 lectures, et je ne suis pas sûre que je lirais la suite dans un futur proche. Je suis contente de l’avoir lu parce qu’il me faisait envie, mais ce n’est pas le meilleur roman sur des sorcières que j’ai lu ! (Pour ça, Mille Pertuis est presque indétrônable.)

Dans le même style, je n’ai pas trop compris la relation qu’entretenaient Poppy, Clarée et Leo. J’ai bien aimé le personnage de Leo, son histoire et ses difficultés, mais je ne sais pas. Il aime Poppy, Poppy l’aime aussi. Et Clarée tombe amoureuse de Leo, et Leo… quoi ? aime aussi Clarée, mais moins que Poppy ? Et Clarée n’a pas capté que Poppy était amoureuse de Leo ? Ça n’a pas de sens, leur dynamique à tous les trois m’a plus saoulée qu’autre chose.

Donc bon. Une fois encore, contente de l’avoir lu mais un peu déçue d’être restée en surface.

I seriously need to get back into reading. I used to read nonstop when I was younger. Admittedly I don’t prioritise it nearly as much as I used to so the only thing I read these days is fanfiction. 

However, the last book I read in full I believe was The Hawkweed Legacy by Irena Brignull. It’s the follow up book to The Hawkweed Prophecy. I think I remember feeling a bit let down as I had liked the first one a lot.
