Further Reviews: Survival The Covid Years
One in four of us are affected by mental health problems, but good mental health means we are able to think, feel and live in the way that we want to live our lives. My books encompass our emotional and physical wellbeing and raise awareness of mental health problems.
Below are two recent reviews of my book 'Survival: The Covid Years'.
Rhianydd Morris
This is amazing book about a memoir of someone life dealing and coping with Covid. It deals with her disability illness and anxiety how she manage. Her shielding experience her mental health her anxiety. About going out wearing mask and dealing with everyday life. I like these types of book I find them interesting read.

After reading both of Ilana's previous books I knew I didn't want to miss this one. In this book Ilana shares her physical, mental and emotional challenges through the Covid pandemic. Everyone had their own very personal experience of the pandemic. For someone who really struggled mentally, with overwhelming anxiety throughout the pandemic, I knew reading this book would help me. There were times throughout the book where I found myself really resonating with Ilana's experiences. I had a really bad experience of Covid at the very beginning of the pandemic which then gripped me with extreme fear for my health and the health of my loved ones. Not everyone understood why I was feeling or behaving in certain ways and at times that was something I struggled with because I didn't always feel I could explain my worries and anxieties. Reading this book has helped me validate some of those feelings, the ones that I didn't understand or couldn't explain.
This is such an important book for mental awareness month, this month. It shares positive steps which Ilana took to help her with some of challenges she had to endure. She encourages the reader to explore their own thoughts and feelings of their experience and how it affected them so they can heal from some of the trauma. We know Covid is not going anywhere so everyday we are learning and adapting our lives to live with it, each one of us will be able to do this at a different pace to one another. Just remember to show kindness, patience and consideration for others. This is a must read for anyone needing help, advice or just being able to read about someone else's journey of the pandemic. Know that you are not alone.

A Powerful Mindset
Through writing, I have learned that while we don’t always have control over what happens to us, we can control what we do next and how we respond. We need to be instrumental in change.
Awareness, resilience and focus are key to building a powerful mindset. To change your life and to be assertive, it is important to be able to shift your perspective. Thoughts and words are powerful and together they create the lives we lead. A powerful mindset is the key to healing and creating a powerful, healing mindset takes work.
Creating a powerful mindset is essential for a healthy lifestyle and needs to be addressed. Why not check out some of my blogs at your leisure, and you too can apply some of what I write into your every day?

More Reviews: Survival: The Covid Years
Thank you so much to @Zooloo's Book tour for organising Survival: The Covid Years 'book tour' and to her bloggers for their reviews.
Why I wrote Survival: 'The Covid Years'
I wrote the book so that I could feel better and so that I would come to understand and come to terms with what was the most difficult period of my mental and emotional disability.
For anyone living with a mental and emotional disability is difficult, living with a mental and emotional disability at a time when there is a killer disease on the loose, impossible. Although I was never in a position to change how the pandemic was being handled, being proactive and doing something to make myself feel better, eventually helped me to come to terms with the virus a little better.
The ethos behind the book
"By shedding light on her personal challenges through the pandemic, Ilana encourages the reader to explore the thoughts and feelings raised by their own pandemic journey. In this way she aims to unlock future potential for others, enabling them to move on from this enormously difficult time. A must read for anyone wanting to take positive steps after the challenges of Covid-19.”

💬MY THOUGHTS💬
It's fair to say that none of us saw COVID or a global panic coming nor did we understand how long and the extent to which this would impact our lives at all levels. I've dealt with anxiety most of my adult life and like many, the pandemic sent me into a level of anxiety I hadn't known. I think the hardest part was all of the unknowns combined with a massive amount of people dying from this invisible killer.
Other reasons for my increased anxiety include my 90+ year old grandma being in an assisted living facility, my parents living halfway across the country in a state that did not lock down as much as Oregon did, and finally we unexpectedly lost my brother to a heart attack. Sadly, I wasn't able to go home for his memorial service and since it was outside it wasn't live streamed. v I say all of this to say, I enjoyed this book and can't fathom how difficult it was for the author during this time. I appreciate the author's candid tale is honest, raw, and vulnerable. In this book she documents her feelings and explains her story in a clear and concise manner. I was hooked from start to finish and found myself identifying with her in more ways than one. I highly recommend this book to all!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’ve read Ilana's first book then you’ll love this continuing journey by Ilana. Ilana really shows you what it was like for people during the pandemic as well as her own. Ilana not only has cerebral palsy but she also has autism. Reflecting back its eye opening to remember what it was like individually during the pandemic in terms of emotional, mental and physical needs. There’s something about reading another individual's story that makes you feel like what you encountered is almost normal and that we are not alone. It’s lovely reading how someone that suffered so immensely turned their life into positive motivations. It shows that roller coasters are meant to be ridden and hurdles are meant to be jumped over.
Ilana really hit home for me and I truly found this inspiring, motivational and heart warming. It shows you how even how the pandemic is over it can still leave challenging emotions that people continue to struggle with. You really feel yourself becoming invested into Ilana’s perspective and there is so much honesty written in the words. I’ll be honest and during the pandemic I was lucky to have my family surrounding me and it really puts into perspective how naive I was with how other people were struggling and facing individual challenges. This is a phenomenal read and truly beautifully written.

Book Review by Kirsty Whitlock
Cerebral Palsy: 'A Story' is currently on tour with @ZooloosBT. For anyone interested in buying a copy of either of my books, they are available to buy directly through my website or through the link in the review.
'I was originally drawn to this book by its topic. I must admit I don't know a huge amount about cerebral palsy so was intrigued to learn more about it and how it affects the people who live with it. I have also yet to read a book published by RedDoor Press that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).
This novel consists of a foreword, introduction and 6 chapters. The chapters are medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed... OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
This biography is very well written and easy to read. As u perviously stated I was attracted by this book because I wanted to learn more about cerebral palsy and how it affects someone with it and this book was an eye opener. I really liked how it was structured with each chapter concentrating on different aspects of Ilana's life. It begins with a foreword from Marty Kinrose who is the former Director of Mentor and Young Programs at UCP Work Inc, explaining how he came to know Ilana.
Then the book moves on to an introduction to Ilana and then moves on to the 6 chapters, which are Understanding Cerebral Palsy, Cerebral Palsy, Socialising and Society, Family life, Physical Health, Mental Health and finally Lifestyle, Beliefs and Spirituality. It is an inspirational read for anyone with or without Cerebral Palsy and I love Ilana's positive outlook on life. It is Ilana's personal journey which showed courage and strength.
I enjoyed the quotes included throughout the chapters, and learning more about Cerebral Palsy the statistics, how it affected Ilana and so much more. There are tips that she gives on how the reader can improve our own mental and physical health. I am looking forward to researching Ilana's blog and increasing my research and knowledge on Cerebral Palsy.
I really enjoyed the fact that Ilana's has written this book in a way that the reader can dip in and out of the book and read in little chunks at a time if that is what they want to do. There is a lot that can be learned from reading Ilana's brave and inspirational memoir and I am glad that I came across it.
Overall, an inspirational and emotional insight into living with cerebral palsy.'
For anyone interested in grabbing copies of either book, you can order Kindle copies on Amazon, or through the following link https://linktr.ee/Ilana_Estelle
