One of my favorite hobbies is thinking about the fucked up implications of this fantasy world map my parents got me for christmas

Okay, I'm finally ready to be serious about this page

What is truly so powerful about it is,

All his life, Vash lived, not for himself, but for Rem.

He suffered for an ideal that wasn't his, he took upon himself the pain inflicted by his brother. Rem died to save humanity and Vash sacrificed his entire ô so long life to protect her legacy, others. But never did he live for himself. Even as Eriks, he left because he was afraid of harming Rem legacy.

And then Wolfwood happened and he taught Vash to 'want'. He taught Vash to live for himself, to make his own decisions and not what was best, to use his gun to protect who he wanted to protect, he taught him to be selfish and,

to see what was in his own heart.

Rewatching Infinity War is great because it becomes clear just how much of the dialogue has made its way into my every day language

In The Nexus, the... well, the Nexus, implies via its version of Sloan that Julian joined Starfleet either at 16 or shortly after turning 17.

Obvious observation here that The Nexus is not canon, but it is an interpretation of events from the actors, and that would mean that Julian joined Starfleet around a year or two after finding out about his genetic enhancements. From "Doctor Bashir, I Presume?": BASHIR: No, you don't understand. I stopped calling myself Jules when I was fifteen and I'd found out what you'd done to me. I'm Julian. I'm pretty sure Julian is 27 at the very start of Deep Space Nine, which means that by that interpretation (which again, isn't pure canon) Starfleet Academy + an advanced level of qualification from Starfleet Medical takes about 10 years. In my head it was more like 8, not necessarily via anything canon and more from general writing research I think, so I wonder what might have shaped that. Maybe getting some particularly advanced qualifications? His first job out of college ("college") was as a CMO after all and it's a combined clinician + research role. Maybe he took some breaks in there?

every time i look at a comic series with more than 30~ issues i give up before i even start because i think i just. cannot handle that. (my favourite comic series has almost 200 issues. i have reread it twice)

i don't have the brain for a real post but. Possession in S1 is about violation, possession in S2 is about protection, and possession in S3 (the 1 and only 1 time it happens) is about synergy. The progression from "Of course I don't trust you" to "I trust you to keep me safe" to "I trust you to See me and to work with me" is just. ugh. i am clawing at the walls.
