I have hacked the mainframe (Inspect Element) (UPDATED FOR HALLOWEEN BOOP WAR)
MAX - 1000
LOL - 1500
OMG - 2000
WOW - 4000
*-* - 5000
WHY - 6000
PLZ - 7000
AAA - 7500
;_; - 8000
0_0 - 8500
T_T - 9000
MAX - ~9200? (Hard to tell, I've overshot this twice already)
BOO - 9500
TUM - 10000 given
BLR - 10000 received
How to Super Boop
On desktop, hover your mouse over the Boop button for around 5 seconds, and it will do 2 spins.
Once the button is done spinning, click on it and you can send a Super Boop!
EVIL BOOPS can be accessed by allowing the animation to play 3 times before clicking
One way to get Super Boops on mobile is using a web browser to access tumblr. Use "Desktop Site"/"Desktop Mode", then click and hold the button to send the boop. That'll convert it to a Super Boop button. It seems pretty inconsistent though.
For all clicking enthusiasts, do click this too, trust me, it's just as satisfying
Omg thanks everyone for the boops, I've been butterfly clicking the boop button for so many different people for the past 6 hours and I'm exhausted
I'm pretty sure this is also my most engaged post on any platform I've ever used, thanks for all the RBs and likes <3 <3 <3
If anyone's crazy enough to try reaching 10k without an autoclicker, here's what I did
Ok, one more tutorial for the boops before I go to bed for real.
How do I check my exact given and received boop count?
NOTE: You'll need to refresh the page to update the counters, unless there's another method to check the live count
Chrome
Go to your dash ("home" tab).
Press f12, or right click and select "Inspect Element"
In the window that pops up, click on "Sources" then "dashboard" under "www.tumblr.com" (Pic below for reference)
In the window showing the code, press Ctrl+F and type in either "givenCount" or "receivedCount".
Ta da! (Pic below for reference)
Firefox
Go to your dash ("home" tab).
Press f12, or right click and select "Inspect Element (Q)"
In the window that pops up, click on "Debugger", then "Sources" and "dashboard" under "www.tumblr.com" (Pic below for reference)
In the window showing the code, press Ctrl+F and type in either "givenCount" or "receivedCount".
Enjoy formatting (Pic below for reference)
Gonna take a break from Tumblr for now, my fingers are in shambles and I'm pretty sure I can hear the mouse clicks echoing around inside my skull. Thanks to everyone for making this random Singaporean guy's day, mbrine signing out! ❤

Keys guide to scam spotting (v2)
Hi! I’m Key (Or Jess depending on which blog you know me from) and I’ll be telling you some better information and detail on how to spot a scam account be it a pet scam or a donation scam. All information is based on my own experiences and I’ll try to keep this post accessible so the only big text is the title. This information should help in understanding how these scams work and how to spot them without having to do too much work. As always, if you appreciate what I do and want to show it, sharing these info posts helps other users see it and learn about blogs that might send them asks.
—
What is a donation scam? - A donation scam is when someone is being deceptive to get money by claiming they need mutual aid or support. For example, they are using the story from someone else’s fundraising post in order to get donations and won’t tell anyone their lying. This is called a donation scam. While the story may be legitimate, it is a story stolen off someone else and means the real person isn’t getting the support they asked for because someone else is using it. These stories are often stolen off Facebook/GoFundMe or even Instagram and could come from a private account or group so searching wouldn’t come up with a source. The images may also be stolen from somewhere else too.
How do you spot a donation scam? - Donation scams are usually easily spotted if you take a closer look at the information being given. Stolen stories will often have certain parts removed and replaced with the information the scammer added themselves. Sometimes the post may be composed of two different parts and won’t sound right if you pay close attention. For example, part of the story sounds fine but then the second part of the story seems out of place and doesn’t match up with the beginning. Another thing to check is how old the account is and if you have timestamps on you can see if an older post is backdated. You can also check to see if the account has tagged certain blogs in their post though this isn’t always a sign of a scam.
What is post backdating? - Post backdating is changing the dates of a reblogged post to look older then it really is. While this can be used with good intentions, scammers often use this to trick people into thinking their account is years old or even a few months old. The one way to find this is by turning on timestamps in dashboard settings and checking ‘other notes’ in reblogs. This is the only way to see the true date something was shared. Accounts who backdate posts will often claim someone told them to do it or they’ll say they didn’t know it was bad. However, you can not accidentally backdate a post.
Did the account contact you first? - A common occurrence is that you will get scam asks if you share a popular or trending post. Usually these accounts send asks to anyone they find without care of who it is and might lie as well if you ask them how they found you. In general, a brand new account shouldn’t easily find you unless they were watching the notes of popular posts. Occasionally these new accounts will even send asks to certain accounts they shouldn’t know about unless they have seen the account before. If your DMs are closed, the ask may ask you to message them because it’s urgent but all they will do is ask for money or ask you to loan them some money.
—
What is a pet donation scam? - A pet donation scam is where someone has went and looked around for vet fundraisers online and then took it for themselves by saving the images and story while erasing any links that would lead to the real pet getting support. They will then repost it to tumblr and say it’s actually their pet needing urgent care with the post title being very large and in red text for a sense of urgency. Sometimes they’ll say they can’t use GoFundMe because it has a fee or something else. This is a scam because they are not the owner of the pet and have stolen everything meaning no funds sent will be towards the actual pets care.
How do you spot a pet donation scam? - A common way of a pet donation scam is by how old the pinned post is and how many posts are reblogged on the account. Usually there is only a few posts shared and always shared around the same time and then no more. These posts all come from a trending topic, a fandom, or are popular posts. Another thing is checking the bio in Google search and seeing if it’s been took from someone else as the scammer never makes their own bio. Reverse image search their pfp to see who it really belongs to in case they stole it. Another important thing is to check their link and see if it matches up with the vet bill. Since most pictures are stolen off a private group, reverse image search won’t find them. The name they may have is likely not their real name and is stolen.
Did the account send you an ask? - Regardless of what the ask says, it usually requests you to answer it privately or message them so they can tell you thanks. These asks may have several emojis in them as well but their always just copy/pasted and sent to multiple users all at once on a daily basis. The private answer is so the ask won’t show up if someone is looking it up. If their post is public, there shouldn’t be a reason to need a private response to an ask you have sent to many people unless you are trying to hide it. Messaging these accounts is useless because they’ll lie to you when you ask them questions back or just ignore you.
—
What is a fake check scam? - A fake check scam is when a generally blank account with no pfp will message you after you used certain tags and ask you if you still need help. Even if you have links to send support, these accounts will ignore that in order to ask for your personal information such as phone number or banking details. They will then offer to send you a check. This is a fake check and cashing it won’t be scamming the scammer. You will lose money instead and the scammer will already move on to someone else. Never give them your private information.
Are there any other scam types? - When you tag posts, you’ll often get messages from accounts claiming they can help you get more attention on your campaign but you have to pay them money or go off-site to contact them. These are fake support accounts and they always use stock images while pretending to be officially affiliated and act like their Digital Marketing title means their not trying to scam you. They get defensive when called out and may start insulting you when they figure out you are already aware they aren’t legitimate.
—
What is a funeral donation scam? - A funeral donation scam is when an account posts saying someone has passed away but the images they used are actually took from someone else and may be photoshopped. Bills may be edited to suit their story and names may be changed to someone else’s. This isn’t a real common scam! But it’s happened a lot lately but the basics are the account will steal someone’s pictures and pass them off as theirs and when caught will say they were forced to or know it’s wrong but did it anyway.
—
In closing, this is information regarding common scam types you’ll find on tumblr. It’s always suggested to pay close attention to asks you get it they fit the criteria of being sent from a scammer. Answer the asks publicly and call out the blog. The scammer may block you as a result, but it’ll help your ask be seen it someone has looked it up. I suggest never spamming asks to share your pinned aid post because unfortunately scammers do this and you shouldn’t ignore people saying to please stop spamming. Always check to see if someone is comfortable getting these kinds of asks too because it won’t look too good if you have sent them an ask when they say please don’t.
As always, not everyone asking for support is a scammer! Legitimate people are out there. It’s just unfortunate scammers have made it harder for them to get help. You can always do your own research and compare it to what others have given and come to your own conclusion.

Finally, they were driving to their new house for the first night. The interior of the car was lit by the streetlights that flickered past, casting fleeting shadows across the leather seats.
Y/N, seated in the passenger side, was trying to keep her vape out of Kaz's reach. She held it up just beyond his grasp, teasing him with the occasional puff of vapor that curled through the air. Kaz, focused on the road, shot her amused glances, his eyes flickering between the rearview mirror and the road ahead.
Kaz leaned over slightly, attempting to snatch the vape with a playful grin. “Come on, just one,” he murmured, his tone light.
Y/N laughed softly, keeping the vape just out of reach. “Yeah, if you catch it,” she replied, her voice a mix of mischief and affection.
But the moment of levity was abruptly shattered by the crack of a gunshot. The car jolted as a bullet whizzed past, grazing the side of the vehicle with a sharp, metallic sting. Y/N's heart leaped into her throat, her eyes widening in shock.
Without missing a beat, Kaz’s reflexes kicked in. He thrust Y/N’s head down toward the footwell, his face hardening into a mask of grim determination. Another bullet ricocheted off the car’s frame, sending a shiver through the metal.
“Are they shooting at us?” Y/N asked, panicked.
“Are you really asking me that?” Kaz’s voice was tight with both urgency and disbelief. He shot a quick glance into the rearview mirror, but the darkness outside rendered the pursuing car a shadowy, indistinguishable blur. The soft hum of the engine was punctuated by the sharp, menacing sound of gunfire. “Love, there’s a hidden compartment in the dashboard. The key is in my pocket. You’ll find a gun in there. I need you to pass it to me and keep your head down.”
Y/N’s breath came in shallow, panicked bursts. She stared at Kaz, eyes wide, as the reality of their situation sunk in. The interior of the car felt like a confined battlefield. “I can’t fucking believe this,” she muttered, her voice trembling.
Kaz felt her trembling hand searching in his pocket. The situation was quickly unraveling, and his focus remained on the road, dodging the bullets that continued to whiz past with a high-pitched, deadly whine. The car shook with each impact, a harsh reminder of the danger they were in. His knuckles whitened as he gripped the steering wheel, trying to keep the car steady while the night outside blurred into a chaotic smear of dark and light.
Y/N finally managed to pull out the gun from the compartment, her fingers gripping it with fear. She handed it over to Kaz, her eyes darting nervously between him and the road. “Y/N, I need you to take the wheel,” he said, his voice firm despite the chaos.
“What?” Y/N’s disbelief was evident. Her gaze was fixed on Kaz, searching for any sign that this was some sort of sick joke.
“Can we fight about it later? Take the wheel,” Kaz insisted, his tone brooking no argument. His gaze was fierce and determined, his hands already moving to unbuckle his seatbelt.
With her heart racing, Y/N reached for the steering wheel, her movements tentative but desperate. The car wobbled slightly as she adjusted her grip, but she managed to steady it. Kaz wasted no time; he unbuckled his seatbelt and opened his window, the rush of cool night air filling the car and mingling with the acrid scent of gunpowder.
He took a brief, sharp look at Y/N, who had her head down, and was half over him. “You’re right, you look good from up here,” he said with a fleeting, almost ironic smile.
“KAZ!” Y/N’s voice was filled with frustration and fear, her heart pounding in her chest.
Kaz chuckled despite the situation, a sound that was almost incongruous with the danger they faced. He leaned out of the window, his torso exposed to the night air as he aimed carefully at the pursuing car. The wind whipped at his face, and he could hear the distant echo of more gunfire as he took a deep breath.
“Y/N, tell me if I have to hit the brake. You’re my eyes right now,” Kaz instructed, his voice steady as he focused on the task at hand. He took his time to line up his shot, his concentration absolute as he squeezed the trigger. The gunfire cracked sharply, and the first tire of the car behind them exploded in a burst of rubber and debris.
Kaz pulled his head back inside quickly, narrowly avoiding a spray of bullets that whizzed past where his head had been moments before. He gave Y/N a fleeting, worried glance as he caught his breath. “Have I ever told you that I love you?” he asked, his voice tinged with a rare softness.
Y/N’s response was lost amidst the cacophony of their surroundings, but Kaz didn’t wait to hear it. He shot out the other front wheel with practiced precision before retreating back into the safety of the car. He slid back into the driver’s seat with a grim look of determination.
“Keep your head down. We’re going to a safe house,” Kaz said, his tone leaving no room for discussion. He turned his attention back to the road, his hands steady on the wheel.
The night was filled with the oppressive silence that followed a storm. The car’s tires roared against the pavement as Kaz navigated them away from danger. The road ahead stretched out into darkness, offering a tenuous promise of safety. The sound of their own breathing, ragged and heavy, filled the car as they drove in tense, strained silence. Kaz’s mind raced through their options, his gaze constantly shifting between the road and the rearview mirror.
They arrived at the house just as Jesper pulled up behind them. The night air was thick with tension and the lingering smell of gunpowder. Kaz eased the car into the driveway, the headlights casting a harsh glow over the darkened front yard. The engine sputtered to a stop, and the car’s frame, now marred with bullet holes and dings, seemed to sigh in relief.
Kaz stepped out of the car and surveyed the damage, his face a mask of grim resignation. His fingers traced the contours of a particularly large dent, a reminder of the chaos they had narrowly escaped. “My poor car,” he sighed, his voice tinged with a blend of frustration and sadness.
Y/N, still shaken, flung open her door and stormed over to him. Her voice was sharp with anger and fear. “Your car? You’re worried about your car? That could’ve been our skulls, Kaz! How can you be so focused on that?”
Kaz met her gaze, his eyes filled with regret and resolve. “I know, love. I’ll handle it. I’m sorry.”
Y/N threw her hands up in exasperation. “I am fucking scared! First, you destroy someone’s car right in front of me, then someone starts shooting at us. What the fuck, Kaz?”
Before Kaz could respond, Jesper stepped in, his calm demeanor a stark contrast to the heated exchange. “Y/N, you’re right. But we should get inside and secure the place. We can’t do that if we’re out here arguing.”
Y/N huffed, but she reluctantly followed Jesper into the house, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. The door slammed behind her with a definitive thud, and the house was enveloped in a tense silence.
Inside, the house was a blend of shadow and muted light. Y/N sank onto the couch, her posture rigid as she pulled out her phone, scrolling absently but clearly preoccupied. Her face was a mix of exhaustion and lingering fear, her earlier anger now tempered by the aftermath of their harrowing escape.
Kaz and Jesper retreated to the kitchen, the low murmur of their voices drifting into the living room. They spoke in low tones, discussing their next moves, the logistics of securing the house, and how to deal with their pursuers. Kaz’s mind was partially on the conversation, but he kept glancing toward the living room, his eyes drifting to Y/N’s curled form on the couch.
He saw her huddled there, her phone’s screen casting a pale light on her face, the tense lines around her eyes softened only slightly by the glow. It wasn’t how he had envisioned their first night in their house—far from it, he thought they would at least manage to arrive there.
Once Jesper left, Kaz took a deep breath and approached Y/N. He sank down beside her on the couch, his expression softening as he reached out and gently squeezed her thigh. “How mad are you?” he asked, his voice low and gentle.
Y/N turned to him, her eyes still wide with lingering fear. “A lot. It was really scary,” she admitted, her voice breaking slightly.
“I know,” Kaz said, his tone full of sincerity. “I’m sorry.”
He carefully pulled her into his embrace, his arms wrapping around her in a comforting hold. He forced her to look up at him, his eyes searching hers. “You stopped to tell me that you loved me while they were shooting at us,” she said in disbelief, a small smile tugging at her lips despite the fear that still lingered.
Kaz chuckled softly, a warm, albeit rueful, smile touching his lips. “I might have, yeah,” he said, his voice carrying a hint of playful resignation.
Y/N shook her head, her earlier frustration now softened into something more affectionate. A smile began to spread across her face, and she leaned into Kaz’s embrace, her eyes reflecting a mixture of amusement and warmth. “Unbelievable,” she repeated, her tone light yet filled with a tender affection that contrasted sharply with the night’s earlier intensity.
Kaz glanced down at Y/N’s phone, which she was now holding in one hand. “What are you reading?” he asked, his curiosity piqued.
Y/N turned the phone slightly towards him, a mischievous glint in her eye. “Fanfiction,” she said with a nonchalant shrug.
Kaz squinted at the screen, trying to make sense of the words that swirled across it. He frowned as he read a few lines, his brows knitting together in confusion. “That’s porn,” he observed, his voice tinged with bewilderment as he tried to reconcile what he was seeing.
Y/N’s response was another casual, almost indifferent shrug. “We just said exactly the same thing, baby,” she replied, a hint of amusement in her voice. She snuggled deeper into Kaz’s side, getting more comfortable as she continued scrolling through her fanfiction.
Kaz remained confused, his mind struggling to process the incongruity of the situation. He glanced back at Y/N, who seemed entirely unfazed by the dissonance. Her fingers moved over the screen, and she seemed completely absorbed in her reading.
Despite his initial confusion, Kaz found himself chuckling again, this time with bewildered affection. He wrapped his arm more securely around Y/N, pulling her closer.
Y/N looked up at him, her smile widening. “Sometimes you need a little distraction after a night like tonight.”
Kaz shook his head in amused resignation, the warmth of Y/N’s presence easing the last remnants of the night’s tension. He settled into the couch with her, his earlier worries momentarily forgotten as he enjoyed the simple comfort of being close to her. The world outside felt distant and irrelevant compared to the warmth and intimacy they shared in that moment.
As they sat together, the soft glow of the phone screen casting faint shadows across their faces, Kaz found himself appreciating the surreal normalcy of the moment. It was a peculiar way to end a chaotic night, but it was theirs, and that was enough.
***
Kaz was outside the Crow Club, leaning on his motorcycle, his posture relaxed yet vigilant. The car was still at the mechanic’s, a testament to their recent narrow escape. He idly played with one of the helmets, his mind a mix of thoughts when he saw Anika approaching her car nearby.
“Are you waiting for someone?” she asked, nodding towards the two helmets.
“No, I like to be extra safe,” Kaz replied flatly, his tone deadpan.
Anika rolled her eyes, but there was a playful glint in them. She hesitated, then decided to continue. “I know you’re not one for gossip, but there’s something I have to ask you.”
Kaz raised an eyebrow, curious despite himself. “Let’s hear it.”
“So, there’s this rumor that you and Inej broke up and that you have a new girlfriend. Some people are even saying that you’re living together. I mean, it’s not true, right?”
Kaz smirked, a slow, confident curve of his lips. “It is true.”
Anika’s eyes widened in surprise. “No way. Do I know her?”
Kaz’s smirk deepened into a crooked smile as he glanced at his watch. “Actually, yes. She should arrive any minute. You have some time to guess.”
Anika took the challenge seriously, blurting out wild guesses that ranged from absurd to plausible.
“Alright, how about Tamsin from the bar? She’s always been into you,” Anika continued, her tone becoming more speculative.
“Wrong again,” Kaz replied, amusement evident in his eyes.
“Okay, this one’s a long shot,” Anika said, her voice filled with playful exasperation. “Is it Petra, the one who always beats everyone at poker night?”
Kaz’s smile widened. “Nice try, but no.”
Anika tapped her chin, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. “You’re really making this difficult, Kaz. Is it that new dancer at the club? The one who’s been performing on Fridays?”
Kaz laughed, the sound warm and genuine. “Nope, keep trying.”
Kaz listened with a faint smile, enjoying the game. After several guesses, she spotted Y/N approaching.
“Oh, hi! What are you doing here? You disappeared so early on Saturday!” Anika greeted y/n with a cheek kiss, her curiosity piqued.
“Yeah, I found this super hot guy and fled as soon as I could,” y/n replied, her eyes lingering on Kaz with a mischievous glint.
Kaz tried to conceal a snort with a cough, the sound barely disguising the rush of memories that flooded his mind. He was transported back to the previous Saturday night, where the party’s thumping bass and boisterous laughter had been a stark contrast to the heated scene unfolding in his study. The room had been dark, the flickering light from a single lamp casting shadows that danced across the walls as the music from the party downstairs created a pulsating rhythm in the background.
y/n had been bent over his desk, her hands gripping the edge for support. The desk was strewn with papers and half-empty glasses, the clutter a testament to the chaotic energy of the party. Her moans, although muffled by the music, had created a melody all their own. Each sound she made had vibrated through the room, creating a private symphony that contrasted sharply with the public revelry just beyond the door.
Kaz had watched her with awe and possessiveness, feeling the heat of the moment as he moved in rhythm with her. The music’s thudding bass seemed to sync with their own pace, creating a unique harmony that only they could fully appreciate. The disarray of the room and the distant party noises had seemed like a surreal backdrop to their intensely personal encounter.
He remembered the way her body had responded to him, how her breaths had quickened and her grip had tightened as they lost themselves in the moment. It was as if the world outside had ceased to exist, leaving only the two of them and the electric connection they shared.
The rush of warmth he felt now, while thinking back on that night, was palpable.Kaz kept his composure, focusing on the present and the playful banter with Anika, but the memory lingered in his thoughts.
“I just discovered that the rumors about Kaz’s new girlfriend are true. She’s coming here,” Anika said excitedly, her eyes darting around as if expecting the mysterious girlfriend to appear any moment.
“No way,” laughed y/n, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
“But look at you all dressed up! What are you doing tonight?” Anika asked, admiring y/n’s outfit, casual elegance that suggested she had plans for a special evening.
“Him,” y/n replied simply, nodding towards Kaz with a confident, knowing smile.
Anika’s mouth dropped open in shock, and then she burst into laughter. “You’ve got to be kidding me. You two?”
“Yeah,” y/n shrugged, moving closer to Kaz, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Anika’s eyes widened further, darting between Y/N and Kaz, and then to Kaz’s arm casually draped around Y/N’s waist. “I didn’t even think you’d know each other. I can’t believe this,” she said clearly surprised. “You two are so... different.”
Kaz grinned, pulling Y/N even closer, clearly enjoying Anika’s reaction. “Opposites attract,” he said with a smirk, his tone light yet filled with an undeniable affection.
“And you’re living together? Already?” Anika’s voice rose slightly, still processing the news.
“Yeah, it was a,” Kaz gazed at y/n’s lips, his voice softening, “an impulsive decision.”
Anika crossed her arms, her brow furrowed. “I just can’t wrap my head around this. You’ve always been so private, Kaz. And Y/N, you’re the exact opposite! I know exactly what you did today from your Instagram!”
y/n was about to reply when something in Anika’s mind clicked. Her eyes widened with realization. “Wait a minute. You’re telling me that all those hands, shoulders, and hair I see in her stories, it’s you?”
“Yep,” Kaz replied, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Anika’s jaw dropped further, disbelief etched across her face. “I can’t believe this. All those little hints. Like that story you posted the other day, where there was a head on your lap, and you were like in bed, I think?”
“Yes, him, first night in the new house,” y/n said, leaning into Kaz, a mischievous smile on her lips.
Anika’s eyes darted between them, still trying to piece everything together. “And the shadowy figure helping you cook in that TikTok from last week?”
Kaz chuckled softly. “Helping is a big word. I was accidentally passing by.”
“And that video! The one where you wrote ‘Spoiled,’ it was—”
“Still him,” laughed y/n. “You really follow me carefully, Anika.”
Kaz shook his head, remembering the video. It showed y/n’s face, her eyes closed in bliss as she soaked in a bathtub. His hand came into frame, placing a chocolate into her mouth. “That was really unnecessary,” he murmured.
“It’s just… wow. So difficult to imagine you together,” Anika said, her voice filled with awe and skepticism. “Don’t get it the wrong way, but I thought that your respective types were much different.”
Kaz, aware of where this conversation was heading and intent on avoiding a discussion about his past with Inej, decided to shift the focus. He handed a helmet to y/n and clicked the cane into its support on the bike. “Time to go, love. See you tomorrow, Anika.”
He swung his leg over the bike and settled into his seat, casting a quick, reassuring glance at y/n.
y/n adjusted her helmet and gave Kaz a smile that was both warm and mischievous, before disappearing behind the black visor. She climbed onto the bike, her movements fluid and practiced. As she settled into place, her arms wrapped around his waist, and Kaz felt the comforting pressure of her body against his back. The connection was immediate, grounding him in a way that nothing else did.
The familiarity of the moment—y/n’s presence next to him, her body pressed against his—sent a familiar jolt of electricity through him. It was a feeling he had grown accustomed to, but it never failed to stir something deep inside him.
Kaz’s hands briefly lingered on y/n’s hips as he helped her get situated. The electric hum of the bike beneath them seemed to pulse with a life of its own, mirroring the energy he felt coursing through him whenever she was close. He took a deep breath, savoring the closeness, and then revved the engine, the roar cutting through the cool evening air.
He felt y/n’s grip tighten slightly while they started to move. The city lights blurred past as they sped off, the rhythmic thrum of the engine beneath them providing a steady beat to their shared journey.
***
Kaz was really enjoying living with Y/N. Every time he came back from work and found her in the middle of making dinner in her little see-through pink PJ, her lips already red from wine, he felt the impulse to drop on one knee and propose right away. The sight of her, so effortlessly sensual and domestic at the same time, filled him with a warmth he hadn’t known he was capable of feeling. More often than he cared to admit, they had left the dinner to get cold, too caught up in each other to worry about food. The kitchen would become their playground, filled with the sounds of laughter and passion, the aroma of their neglected meal mingling with their shared breath.
Kaz was sure he would never get tired of it, of the knowledge that she was there, waiting for him. Each evening, her presence was a constant, comforting anchor in his life.
When he was home before her, he had started to decipher her mood by the music he heard blasting from her car as she pulled into the driveway.
If it was Lana Del Rey, it was better to chug a lot of water and clear the next few hours of his schedule. Those nights were intense; she would edge them both until one of them started to beg (him), her eyes dark with desire. If it was Taylor Swift, Y/N was about to talk his ears off about whatever thing had happened to her that day, her animated recounting of events both mundane and extraordinary filling the house with life. And if it was something with a hard beat, shit was about to get wild. Water wouldn’t help; it was time to make strong drinks and dramatically free the kitchen table.
He thought that her job would have bothered him more. But instead, it became a point of power and intimacy between them. The times she would run straight to him after work, her eyes wide with need, asking him to make her feel good, were priceless. She would talk about how bad and boring the other men were, how on edge they had left her, and Kaz would get hard just from the power she was giving him. Her desperation when he didn't immediately agree was intoxicating, a heady mix of vulnerability and desire that he reveled in.
Kaz loved that Y/N was as clingy and needy as he discovered himself to be. She was always seeking his contact, whether it was a hand, a kiss, or a brush of their bodies when they passed each other. They couldn’t sit on the couch without being sprawled on each other, limbs tangled in a comforting mess. He felt like he had years of touch to catch up on, and her constant need for physical connection filled a void he always knew was there.
Another thing Kaz noticed was that Y/N was subtly testing the boundaries of their relationship. She was always asking for his help, seeking more attention, and requesting more of his time. It was as if she was waiting for the moment he would snap at her, get mad at her constant demands. He decided to let her test him, allowing her to slowly get comfortable with the fact that he wouldn't leave her or get angry. Kaz would roll his eyes and make her ask more than once pretty often, but he always said yes. He understood that her requests were not about the tasks themselves but about her need for reassurance and stability.
Y/N was scared that things would go badly. Kaz saw her hesitation when telling him that she was too sore or too tired to have sex on certain nights. In those moments, with all the patience in the world, he would get her to relax, cuddling her and reassuring her that he didn’t care. He would have watched ice melt just to share her company. He constantly reminded her that he wanted all of her, that her body and all that came with it was just one aspect of his love for her, not the only thing.
One evening, Kaz was sitting on the couch, and Y/N was nestled between his legs, her back pressed against his chest. His nose was buried in her hair, inhaling her comforting scent, while his hands traced lazy patterns on her stomach beneath her shirt. They were watching the new season of MasterChef, they had finished watching together the previous season exchanging texts when they had just met. Now, they were watching it from their couch, the one they had painstakingly chosen after a marathon day at IKEA, testing and retesting every option.
Y/N had told him about a particularly rough booking she had had that afternoon—two men together. She explained how it had started well, she never lied about having good sex when it happened. But then, as she recounted, things had taken a turn. They had become too intense, pushing her limits to the point where she nearly used her safe word. They had been thrilled about sharing her, constantly trying to outdo each other, and it had left her feeling drained.
Kaz listened attentively, his heart aching at the thought of her discomfort. He ran her a bath, carefully adjusting the water temperature to her liking. They had been working slowly but steadily on getting him used to wet skin, and he managed to hold her hand for a bit under the hot water. As it began to feel too much, Kaz brought her some ice cream, giving her a moment alone to soak in the warmth and let the tension melt away.
While Y/N relaxed in the bath, Kaz busied himself in the kitchen, making popcorn and preparing drinks for their evening of TV.
Y/N's job often brought up complex emotions, and Kaz knew it was essential to navigate them with care. He never judged her for it, understanding that it was a part of her life. Instead, he focused on making her feel loved and valued, ensuring she knew that his affection extended far beyond the physical. Each time she shared a piece of her day, no matter how difficult, he listened without interruption, offering comfort and support in whatever way she needed.
Y/N was no less tender than him when he came back from a particularly violent job or a stressful business day. Kaz usually managed to go somewhere and get cleaned up before coming home, but one time it was really late and he was too tired to make a stop before heading back. As he walked through the door, half-covered in blood, he intended to go straight to the bathroom, but he couldn't resist peeking into their bedroom.
Kaz found Y/N awake, immersed in a book. Her eyes widened at the sight of him, covered in blood, but before she could react, he reassured her, "I'm okay. It's not mine." He disappeared into the bathroom, anxious about how she would handle seeing him in such a state. Would she be repulsed? Frightened? He scrubbed himself clean, the hot water doing little to wash away his lingering fears.
When he climbed into bed, the adrenaline from the violent encounter still pumping through his veins, he was surprised to find Y/N waiting for him with open arms. Without a word, she guided his head to lay on her stomach, her fingers threading gently through his hair.
"Tell me what happened," she coaxed softly, her voice a soothing balm to his frayed nerves. At first, Kaz hesitated, the events of the night swirling chaotically in his mind. But her gentle persistence and the tender way she held him made it easier to let the words spill out. He recounted the night's events, the violence, the danger, the blood. He spoke of the fear and the anger, the rush of adrenaline that still hadn't fully dissipated.
As he spoke, Y/N's hand never left his hair, her touch grounding him. She listened without interruption, her presence a steady anchor. She murmured words of comfort, assuring him that he was safe now, that she was there for him. Her patience and understanding allowed him to slowly detach from the night's horrors.
When he finally fell silent, the weight of the night lifted slightly from his shoulders. Y/N's gentle care had worked its magic, soothing the turmoil within him. She continued to hold him close, her warmth and steady heartbeat lulling him into a sense of security.
"You're home now," she whispered, her fingers still playing gently with his hair.
Kaz closed his eyes, the adrenaline ebbing away as sleep began to claim him. In Y/N's arms, he found the peace he desperately needed. Her tenderness and unwavering support were more than he had ever expected or thought he deserved.
***
Sex was always an intense power struggle, and Kaz was starting to get confident enough to win sometimes. Each encounter was a battle for dominance, a test of wills that left them both breathless and exhilarated.
Kaz's thumbs were pressed deeply into the dimples of her lower back, gripping her hips with a force that would surely leave bruises. His pace was already erratic, driven by a desperate need, but Y/N kept pushing him for more. She would glance over her shoulder, her eyes dark with desire, and beg, "Faster," "Harder," "More." Her pleas were insistent, her hips arching to take him deeper, fueling his frustration and excitement.
Annoyed by her constant demands, Kaz decided to assert his control. He stopped abruptly, leaving her gasping in frustration, and flipped her onto her back. Pinning her wrists above her head with one hand, he used the other to cover her mouth. His eyes gleamed with a dangerous smile as he whispered, "Shut up, love. You're not the one in charge here."
He pressed her into the mattress, starting to move as slowly as he could, savoring her muffled whimpers and the way her eyes widened in desperation. Y/N's hips bucked up, trying to meet his thrusts, but he held her down, maintaining his agonizingly slow pace. "Stay still," he murmured in her ear, his breath hot against her skin. "You get what I give you."
Her eyes were wide with a mixture of frustration and pleasure, tears and spit covering his hand. He knew she was enjoying it as much as he was—it was written all over her face. The suffocated cries and the way she strained against his hold were music to his ears, a symphony of their shared desire.
Each time she moved her hips, he would stop, leaving her on the brink of madness. Her muffled cries grew louder, and he could already hear the neighbors' complaints echoing in his mind. They had been asked more than once to keep it down, but in moments like this, neither of them cared.
As Kaz felt himself getting closer, he abruptly released her mouth and wrists. Y/N immediately pulled him closer, her nails digging into his back, urging him to finish her off. She raised her hips, desperate to take him deeper, her eyes filled with a wild, needy hunger.
When Kaz finally reached his peak, the intensity of it left them both trembling. He buried his face in her neck, muffling his own cries. The sounds of their pleasure filled the room, and he was certain they were in for another awkward conversation with the neighbors.
In the aftermath, as they lay tangled together, catching their breath, Kaz couldn’t help but feel a surge of satisfaction. The power struggle, the intensity, the way they pushed each other to new heights—it was all part of the intoxicating dance they shared. And in moments like these, he knew he wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Y/N's body was a warm, comforting weight against his, her skin slick with sweat and her breathing still uneven. Her head rested on his chest, rising and falling with each of his breaths. He could feel her heartbeat gradually slowing, syncing with his own in a calming rhythm.
“That was fucking amazing, love,” she said, her voice breathless and filled with exhaustion and exhilaration. She shifted slightly, looking up at him with a satisfied smile. “I won’t be able to think about anything else for a while.”
Kaz chuckled softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face and planting a gentle kiss on her temple. “Exactly what I wanted,” he murmured, his lips lingering against her skin. He relished the feeling of her body relaxing into his, the tension of their earlier intensity giving way to a profound sense of contentment.
They lay there in silence for a while, the only sounds the gentle hum of the city outside and their slowing breaths. Kaz traced lazy circles on her back with his fingertips, enjoying the way she shivered at his touch. Despite the physical exhaustion, he felt an undeniable energy coursing through him—a satisfaction not just from the physical release, but from the deep connection they shared.
“Do we really have to go to Jesper’s taco night?”
“Yes.”
“Fuck me,” she sighed passing a hand on her flushed face.
“Again?”
He thought about how their relationship had evolved, from the first tentative touches to the raw, unfiltered passion they now shared. Each moment with her was a discovery, an adventure that left him craving more. The way she challenged him, pushed him to new limits, both in and out of the bedroom, was something he had never experienced before. It was addictive.
***
Kaz yawned, studying the array of weapons laid out before him. The cool metal glinted under the dim lights of the room.
“Did you take Y/N’s car?” Jesper asked as he joined him, a curious look on his face.
“Yeah, she says it makes a weird noise, so I told her I would take it to a mechanic,” Kaz replied, stifling another yawn. “The car is fine; if she could just drive like Ghezen commands, she’d know. I'll just make some rounds and tell her that someone fixed it.”
Jesper shook his head, eyeing the weapons with the same intensity as Kaz. “So, how was this sunrise-romantic-run?” Jesper commented with a smirk.
Kaz frowned. “How do you know about it?”
“Y/N’s private profile on Instagram,” Jesper said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Kaz pulled out his phone and saw a notification: ‘cherrylips_crystalskies tagged you in her story.’ Curiosity piqued, he tapped on the alert and was greeted by a snapshot that made him pause. The photo captured him mid-stride, running ahead of Y/N along the harbor. His silhouette was a stark, inky black against the ethereal golden light of the sunrise, which danced across the water in shimmering waves. The serene hues of dawn contrasted sharply with his dark attire, emphasizing his presence.
Every detail in the photo stood out. His black hoodie and track pants melded into the early morning shadows, but two elements gleamed brightly—the gray headphones wrapped around his head and the metallic sheen of his knee brace, reflecting the soft morning light. The scene was both peaceful and intense.
In the background, the harbor lay quiet, bathed in the gentle light of the breaking day. The calm water mirrored the sky's hues, creating a dreamy, almost surreal landscape that framed Kaz's determined form.
The caption was “is bro faking his injury to park wherever he wants? Stay tuned” and made him chuckle. Kaz couldn't help but smile at the image, feeling a rush of warmth and affection for the woman who had captured it.
On her public profile, Y/N only posted subtle hints that she was with someone, but on her private one, she took more creative freedom. Kaz had to admit, it was a nice picture.
Suppressing another yawn, Kaz explained, “I didn’t sleep last night, had to finish some things. Later, I’m going to see Y/N’s grandma to ask her what she thinks of me marrying her niece. Y/N was out all night partying, and since I was awake when she came back, she dragged me to go running with her.”
Jesper raised a brow.
“I know, ‘running off the hangover’ is for crazy people," Kaz added with a shake of his head. He remembered Y/N’s infectious energy, her laughter as she pulled him out the door in the cold morning air despite his protests.
“Looks like you’ve got a full day today,” commented Jesper, picking up a gun to evaluate it.
Kaz nodded, handing him a silencer. “Yeah, it’s going to be an interesting one.”
***
Kaz felt a bit less confident under Alice’s gaze. “You look pale, boy. I’ll make some tea,” she said, bustling in the kitchen.
“Without Marijuana, please,” he added, recalling how the last time he drunk tea in that house went.
“Boring,” commented Alice.
Kaz remained on the yellow couch, unsure of what to do. The cozy, lived-in feel of the room contrasted sharply with the formality of the conversation he was about to have. He fidgeted slightly, adjusting his jacket and looking around at the pictures of young Y/N that adorned the walls.
“So you want to marry my niece,” Alice started from the kitchen.
“Yes,” he confirmed, his voice steady.
Alice returned with two cups, handing one to him. He accepted it gratefully, feeling the warmth seep into his hands.
“Why?” she asked, her tone genuinely curious.
“Uhm, because we love each other,” he said, avoiding her gaze and focusing on the steam rising from his cup.
“So you ask to marry you everyone you love?” Alice raised a brow, taking a sip of her tea.
“No,” he frowned, glancing up at her.
“Then why?”
“I want to spend my life with her,” he said more confidently, meeting her eyes.
“Hm, you can do that without being married,” Alice observed, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Kaz hadn’t expected this much questioning. He shifted uncomfortably, trying to gather his thoughts.
“What does kitty think about that? She didn’t even want a relationship,” Alice pointed out.
Kaz thought about all the times they had joked about it, each instance vivid in his mind. He remembered the nights when they lay tangled together, the room filled with the soft glow of lamplight. He would lean in close, his lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, "You know, you’d make a perfect wife." Her laughter would bubble up, light and musical, filling the space around them. “Sure, Kaz.”
Kaz also recalled the mornings when he would prepare breakfast, catching her off guard by referring to her as "Mrs. Brekker." She would then wiggle her left hand in front of his face, fingers splayed and free of any rings. "You’re getting ahead of yourself, baby," she’d say.
He remembered when they went to one of his work dinners, a formal affair where everyone seemed to have their plus ones neatly labeled. Someone had asked if she was his wife, and without missing a beat, Kaz had confidently responded, “Yes.” Y/N had turned to look at him with a brow raised, surprise and amusement dancing in her eyes. “No, I’m not,” she laughed, correcting him but not without a playful nudge.
“Exactly, she didn’t want a relationship and now she’s happy in one. We can make this work,” he said, a note of determination in his voice.
Alice hummed, studying him intently. “Are you sure she’s happy?”
“Yes,” Kaz said without hesitation. “She was just scared that things would take a bad turn. She still is, but I’m doing everything I can to let her know I won’t leave her.”
“What if you find someone else? I’m sure you were this confident even with your ex-girlfriend,” Alice remarked, her eyes sharp.
Kaz was taken aback again, but making delicate conversation was part of his job. “You can’t compare my relationship with Inej to the one with Y/N. We fit together in a way I didn’t think was possible.”
“What about her job?”
“I’ll wait for her to be ready to leave it before marrying her,” Kaz said, his resolve unwavering. He knew Y/N's work was a significant part of her life, and he respected her autonomy. He understood that pressuring her to leave it prematurely would only create resentment and conflict.
Alice nodded at his words, clearly processing them. “And then what?”
“She’ll do whatever she wants, of course,” Kaz responded without hesitation. He envisioned a future where Y/N could explore her passions freely, whether that meant pursuing a new career, continuing her education, or any other endeavor that brought her joy.
“What about children? Kitty wants to have them.”
Kaz paused, the weight of the question settling over him. He had never been one to fantasize about fatherhood, but the thought of creating a family with Y/N was becoming less foreign, even comforting. “I’m… getting used to the idea,” he admitted, surprising even himself with the honesty of his response.
Alice smiled softly, setting her cup down. “You know, Kaz, you’re saying all the right things. But you’re both young. You already rushed into moving in together.”
Kaz met her gaze, understanding the concern behind her words. “I’m not saying we’re getting married tomorrow,” he clarified. “I just want her to know that I’m not playing. I think she needs all the reassurance she can get.” He thought about the nights Y/N sought his comfort, the times she asked for his help or attention, testing his patience and commitment. He wanted her to feel secure in their relationship, to know he was in it for the long haul.
Alice studied him for a moment, her expression softening. “It’s good that you recognize that. She’s been through a lot, and she needs someone who’s going to be there for her, consistently.”
“I know,” Kaz said quietly. He thought of the moments when Y/N hesitated to share her vulnerabilities, fearing rejection or anger. He had made it a point to reassure her, to show her through actions and words that he wasn’t going anywhere.
Alice leaned back in her chair, a thoughtful look on her face. “It’s clear you care deeply for her. Just make sure you’re both ready for each step you take. Marriage, children—they’re big commitments.”
Kaz nodded, appreciating Alice's candidness. “I will. I’m not rushing anything. I just want her to feel safe.”
Alice smiled again, a hint of approval in her eyes. “Then we’re good, you have my blessing. Maybe asking her father would be more appropriate, but I raised the little brat. I’m glad you came to me.”
Kaz froze, his eyes widening. Her father?
Alice sensed his confusion. “She told you they’re dead, right?”
Kaz nodded, his mind racing, not understanding why Y/N had lied to him about her parents.
“Well, it’s almost like they are,” Alice said with a sigh. “I never forgave my daughter for how she treated her.”
“What happened?” Kaz asked, his frown deepening as he tried to piece everything together.
Alice sighed, her expression heavy with old pain. “Her parents had a complicated relationship. They decided to have her anyway, but within two years, they were so tired of each other that they just left. Moved to opposite points of the world and started new families.”
Kaz was stunned. This revelation added so much more context to Y/N's reluctance towards being in a serious relationship. It explained why she didn’t want to be bound to someone, why she thought she would be unable to handle it.
“They never saw each other again,” Alice continued, her voice tinged with bitterness. “Not even once did they come to see their daughter.”
Kaz could hardly believe it. The thought of Y/N growing up feeling unwanted and discarded by her own parents made his heart ache. He realized now why she always tested the boundaries of their relationship, why she sought so much reassurance. She had been conditioned to expect abandonment and hurt, and he was determined to prove her wrong.
Alice watched him, her gaze softening as she saw the realization and resolve in his eyes. “She’s been through a lot, Kaz. More than she lets on. She needs someone who won’t just say they love her but will show it every day.”
Kaz nodded, a steely determination setting in. “I will. I’ll show her every day that I’m not going anywhere.”
Alice smiled, a hint of approval in her eyes. “Good. She deserves that.”
Kaz took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the responsibility but also a renewed sense of purpose. Y/N had patiently pulled him out of his personal hell, and she still was. Now, it was his turn to help her. He owed her that and more.
He thought back to the countless times she had been there for him, even when he didn't realize he needed someone. Her unwavering support, her patience, and her understanding had been his anchor. Every touch, every comforting word had chipped away at the walls he had built around himself.
Y/N had given him something he thought he'd never have: a chance at a normal life, a chance to heal. She had stayed by his side through his darkest moments, and now, it was his turn to be her rock. He was determined to show her that she didn't have to face her fears alone.
Kaz looked up at Alice, who was watching him with a knowing smile. “I’ll take care of her,” he promised.
Alice nodded, her expression softening. “I believe you.”

The Devil's Trip Pairing: Eddie Munson x You Summary: Eddie and Evil Woman embark on an epic spring break road trip… in which everything goes wrong. Contains: Good tunes, snacks, a cooler full of drinks, the open road… also traffic, poor planning, a heroic Hopper rescue, bad food, accidental injury, blood, spring break just not going like it should. Words: 3.3k
"Music?"
"Check!" You shake the shoebox full of cassettes in your lap.
"Snacks?"
You reach back and rattle a bag full of snacks. "Check!" There's also a cooler full of soda and stuff to make sandwiches.
"Kiss?"
"Wayne's still up, you've got time to run back in if you want to."
"UGH, get out of my van," Eddie groans. You laugh and lean over for the pre-road trip kiss.
"Check," you whisper against his lips before straightening.
"Alright, let's blow this popsicle stand."
Eddie turns the key and his van roars to life, sending a few stray cats scattering in the morning sun. He reverses out of his spot in front of the trailer. When he puts the van in gear and it lurches forward, you remove the correct tape from its case. Eddie stops at the edge of the trailer park to check for traffic on the main road, and you slip Road Trip Mix #1 into the tape player.
He waits for Ozzy to shout "All aboard!" before gunning it and hitting the highway.
You're kicking off your spring break by going to a music festival in Illinois. Just you and Eddie and an epic road trip and two days of up-and-coming bands. You've got three new rolls of film and plan to fully document every memorable moment. Rest stops, cheesy roadside attractions, sleeping in the van, the concert stage. You've been planning your escape from Hawkins for weeks.
Two songs into Road Trip Mix #1 later, a look of concentration settles on Eddie's face. The "Leaving Hawkins" sign comes into view. You both wait until the exact moment you pass before yelling "FUCK YOU, HAWKINS!" The first time he did it, it scared the crap out of you. Now you yell with him.
You grin at each other and face the road… seconds later, the van shudders. Eddie's brow furrows, and his eyes dart between the needles on the dashboard.
"The fuck?" you ask.
The van shudders again, and the engine sputters and dies. Eddie curses and coasts to the side of the road. When the van comes to a stop, he sighs and turns to you slowly.
"Gas?" he asks, one eye scrunched.
"Shit."
You stare at each other for a second, and then burst into laughter.
"Well, we're off to a great start," Eddie laughs.
"How the fuck did you forget to get gas?!" you ask.
"I meant to do it last night… but someone had her hand creeping up my thigh on the way home, and it distracted me."
"That slut," you deadpan. "Tell me who she is, I'll kill her."
Eddie grins. "Uh, there's a station about a mile back, they probably have a spare gas can for emergencies such as these… rock, paper, scissors?"
You glare.
"Orrrr I could go get it and you could stay out here… by yourself… on the side of the road… all alone…" He bats his eyelashes.
"What are we waiting for?" you ask, opening your door and sliding down to the ground. You reach up to lock it, slam it, and meet Eddie at the rear doors.
You walk in silence for a few minutes, then Eddie asks, "Wanna play a game?"
"Is it called Guess Who Forgot to Get Gas?" you tease.
You take another few steps, notice he's no longer beside you, and turn back to see why. He grins and takes a leap at you, attaching himself to your back.
"Oof!" you grunt. "What are you doing, moron?"
"I'm gonna have to carry a gas can back, so you're gonna have to carry me to the gas station."
"That does not seem at all like a fair trade," you grumble, but try to keep walking. You stagger a few steps under his weight, waiting for him to take pity on you and hop off, but he does not.
Until a siren chirps.
Eddie lets you go and hops to the ground, and you both turn to see Chief Hopper leaning out of his Blazer's open window and looking unamused.
"I don't know what you're doing, I don't want to know what you're doing, I just need to know if you require my assistance in a professional capacity."
You glance toward Eddie, entirely unsure if he's going to play with Hopper or be serious for once in his life.
"Van ran out of gas, so I tried to hitch a different ride. But she ran out too." You elbow him, and he grins.
Chief Hopper sighs and hangs his head. "Get in, delinquents."
"Can I sit in the front this time?" Eddie asks excitedly.
"No!" Hopper barks.
Eddie laughs and crosses the road to open the door for you. You slide in, and Eddie slides in behind you. He laces his fingers behind his head and stretches out, making himself comfortable in Hopper's back seat.
"Where you kids headed?"
"…the gas station?" Eddie says like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
"Where were you going before you ran out of gas, smart-ass?"
You stifle a laugh and Eddie grins. "A music festival in Illinois."
Hopper makes eye contact with you in his rearview mirror. "Your mom know where you're going and who you're with?"
"Yes," you answer simply.
He studies you in the mirror for a second before returning his attention to the road.
"What, she says one word and you believe her?" Eddie asks incredulously. "We go way back, Hop! You grill me ALL the time!"
"She's got an honest face. You look like a gremlin."
You snort, and Eddie's jaw drops.
Before he can formulate a snappy response, Hopper pulls his Blazer into the gas station. He takes his time getting out and walking around the back to extract his gas can. Finally, he opens Eddie's door and hands it to him. Eddie hops out and takes the can to fill it, and you're left alone with the police chief.
He hovers outside the open back door, blocking your way out. You're a little nervous… until he speaks.
"He being a gentleman?"
"He tries," you smile. Hopper comes off as gruff, but you know there's kindness underneath it. Otherwise, you'd probably be writing Eddie letters in jail.
"Your mom really know where you're going?"
You nod. "She even gave me a new roll of film and told me to bring her back a souvenir."
Hopper nods his head in approval.
"I'm glad he's got somebody," he says lowly. "You're keeping him outta my hair."
"If you miss him, I can set him loose every once in a while," you grin. "I don't think he's been properly chased away from the water tower in ages."
Hopper laughs. "Nope, all yours."
Eddie announces his presence with a grunt, heaving the full gas can into the back of the Blazer.
"Filled, paid, it'll get us a ways."
"You're gonna stop and fill up before you get back to empty, right?" Hopper asks, glaring down at Eddie as he squeezes back into the truck.
"Yes, Mom," Eddie grins.
Hopper rolls his eyes and slams the door. He gets into the driver's seat and takes you back to the van quickly, but doesn't let you out right away.
"Illinois cops aren't as nice as I am, Munson."
"I knew you had a soft spot for me," Eddie grins.
"I mean it," he says, turning in his seat to face the two of you. "You screw up outside of Hawkins, and I'm not gonna be there to give you a lecture and send you home."
You look nervously between them. How much trouble has Eddie gotten into?
"We'll be fine, Hop," Eddie says boredly.
"Are there any illegal substances in your van?"
"If there were, would I tell the Chief of Police?"
Hopper growls and turns his attention to you. "You gonna keep him out of trouble?"
"It's a rough job, but somebody's gotta do it," you smile, glancing over at Eddie.
"You both realize I'm a legal adult, right?" he scoffs.
"Could've fooled me," you and Hopper say together. Eddie rolls his eyes. Hopper laughs and gets out to open the rear door. You hop out, Eddie retrieves the fuel and empties it into the van's gas tank, and hands the empty vessel to Hopper.
"Have fun, behave, watch that gas hand, do not take any illegal substances across state lines, et cetera."
Eddie puffs out his chest and salutes, and Hopper gives him a shove toward the van. You smile and wave. Hopper puts his gas can back in the truck, waits until Eddie gets the van started, and heads back toward Hawkins.
"Alright, take two!" Eddie says as he pulls back onto the road. It was a little quieter this time; you were a little paranoid about getting busted with substances that may or may not be in the van, and a little stressed from barely making it out of Hawkins before the first sign of trouble. It's only a hiccup, you told yourself, just to keep you on your toes for the rest of the trip.
You made it a few minutes down the winding road before running into a long line of stopped traffic. You couldn't see far enough ahead to figure out what was wrong, but after what felt like an hour of waiting, traffic finally began to crawl through. A car lay upside down in a ditch. Tire marks on the road. A crew sweeping up glass in the other lane.
"You okay?" Eddie asks.
"Yeah," you whisper.
"It's a bad curve," he explains. "Not the first time."
It's also not the first time you've been through here with him at breakneck speeds. He reaches over and puts a hand on your thigh as the long line of traffic slowly proceeds.
Eddie pulls off at the next gas station, to let the traffic thin out and properly fuel up the van. You take the opportunity to stretch your legs by walking through the store and looking for snacks you don't already have.
You spot a clearance rack full of off-brand chips you've never tried before, for only ten cents a bag. You grab one of each flavor and bring them to the register at the same time Eddie comes in to pay for his fuel.
Eddie pays, the cashier stuffs your chips in a plastic bag, and you head back out. The traffic is still moving slowly.
"Wanna hang here until traffic starts moving again?" he suggests.
"Sure," you smile. "We can sample our chips and see if it's worth going back in for more." Eddie moves the van from a pump to a parking spot, and comes to join you atop the rotting picnic table in the grass beside the store. He plops down two drink cans from the cooler, and you lay out your different chip options.
"Six flavors," you announce. "What do we want to sample first?"
"Hmmmmm… this one." Eddie picks up a red bag with flames coming off of the text. Of course. He rips open the top of the bag and offers it to you. You pull out one very threatening-looking red chip. Eddie extracts one too. You gently tap them together in a super classy gas station potato chip toast, and pop them in your mouths.
When the heat hits you, you spit it out. Eddie lasts a few seconds longer, but spits his out too. You both pop open your cans and guzzle, hoping the cold liquid will put the fire out and mask the awful taste.
"Okay, fuck THOSE," Eddie says, setting that bag aside. "You pick next."
You select the cheesy ones, hoping they'll be mild. You open the bag, and you each pull out a chip.
Eddie sniffs it. "This smells like feet."
"Yours, or a normal person's?"
He throws his chip at you and has to pick another.
You skip the toast, but both bite down at the same time.
Not good, but not so bad that you have to spit it out. You repeat the process with barbecue, salt and vinegar, sour cream and onion, and plain. Neither of you eats more than one chip out of each bag.
"Did all of those suck, or did the first one just burn our taste buds off?" you ask after you drain the last of your soda.
"Kinda wish it HAD burned my taste buds off," he says, looking warily at the six almost-full bags of chips. "What are we gonna do with those?"
You look disdainfully at the awful snacks. "Take 'em home and give 'em to the boys for the next movie night. Tell 'em we had to sample each bag and make sure they were suitable for nerd consumption."
Eddie laughs and shoves the chips back in the shopping bag. You tie it - because surely staleness wouldn't improve the flavor - and hold it up to give it a spin.
"There we go," you smirk. "A heartfelt gift for our dear friends." Eddie snorts.
"Looks like traffic's moving quicker," he notes. "Wanna get back to it?"
"Let's roll," you nod, rising from the picnic table with the bag full of awful chips. Eddie hops off of the table and lands with a hiss. You whip around at the sound.
He's holding his hand in a fist. You step closer and uncurl it to see what's wrong. The table gave him a splinter.
"I've got tweezers in my emergency bag, c'mon, I'll fix you up." You pick up your empty cans and toss them in a nearby trash can, crawl into the back of the van, and start digging. Eddie sits on the floor by the back door until you locate your emergency supplies.
"Damn, is there anything you're NOT prepared for?" he teases when he sees the packed box.
"Nope," you answer, dabbing alcohol on his hand. He hisses again. You make quick work of the splinter extraction and bandaging. You lean down and kiss the bandage when you're done, before he can even pout and ask you to kiss it and make it better. He smiles when you sit back up.
Three minutes later, you're on the road again, and it's time for a new tape. You pop out Road Trip Mix #1 and swap it for #2.
"Damn, we make a good mix tape," Eddie remarks.
"Mix tapes," you correct. "There are six of them."
"And each one is better than the last," he says, reaching forward to turn up the volume…
The knob comes off in his hand.
"Shit."
"Give it here," you say loudly, so he can hear you over the deafening screams of Judas Priest. You hold out your hand, and he drops the knob into it. You lean in close and try to figure out how it goes back on so you can turn it the hell down. You've nearly got it when a blinding pain shoots through your head.
"Shit, fuck, I'm sorry!"
You don't know what's going on. You're seeing spots, your head is killing you, and there's… blood? On your shirt?
Eddie's hand reaches out to grab you and keep you from lurching forward with the van when it comes to an abrupt stop on the side of the road.
"Fuck, fuck, look at me," he says hurriedly. You're still transfixed by the blood dripping on your shirt. Suddenly, everything goes quiet. You look up in surprise, but it's just because he's turned the van off and the music isn't blaring anymore. His eyes widen.
"Are you okay?"
"I… don't know?"
"A fucking cat ran out in front of me and I hit the brakes so I wouldn't hit it and you hit your face on the dash," he explains hurriedly.
You take a second to process it.
He reaches into the back and grabs a spare hoodie. "Here, he says, lifting a sleeve to dab at the blood that had spurted from your nose. You laugh at the absurdity of it all. This is the trip from Hell.
"Ow!" you screech when he touches a sensitive spot, done with your laughing.
"Sorry! Fuck, I'm so sorry."
You take the hoodie from him and mop up the rest of the blood. Good thing it's black.
"You starting to think maybe this trip is cursed?" you ask, muffled through the hoodie.
Eddie sighs.
"You wanna go home?"
You shrug. You don't want to ruin his trip. You know how much he's been looking forward to this. You'll stick it out with him.
"Let me see you," he says, reaching for the fabric hiding half of your face. He removes it, and his eyes widen. "Yeah, we're going home."
"Eddie, you don't have to--"
"Shut up," he orders, getting out of his seat to dig in the back. He comes back into view holding a cold can of soda, which he wraps in the hoodie. "For your face," he says, offering it to you.
"That bad, huh?" You smile, which is a mistake. "Ow."
"Buckle up, relax, this hell-trip will be over soon."
He searches the floorboard until he locates the volume knob, twists it back on, and immediately brings the noise down when the van starts up again.
Eddie waits for a break in traffic and turns around in the middle of the road. Once you're headed toward home again, you lean back in your seat, hold the cold can up to your face, and stare out the window over top of it.
The first sign you see is the one stating that Hawkins is six miles away. You start laughing.
"…are you okay?"
You laugh harder.
"Shit, do I need to take you to a hospital?"
"No," you wheeze, "this trip really is cursed."
He looks at you like you've grown another head.
"Think about it," you chuckle. "We made six mix tapes. We bought six awful bags of chips. And we made it a whole six miles outside of Hawkins Fucking Indiana."
As if on cue, "The Number of the Beast" starts playing. You look at each other and lose it. You cackle until your sides ache and your face aches more before.
"Ow," you whine, trying to focus on the road and stop laughing. When your body finally stops shaking, you sink into your seat and close your eyes.
"Best trip ever," you mumble.
You hear him chuckle.
"Babe?" Eddie asks after a moment of silence. You open your eyes. You're passing the Welcome to Hawkins sign. "You wanna go to my place or yours?"
"How bad do I look?" you ask, turning to face him. He grimaces. You lean your head back against the headrest and close your eyes again. "Take me wherever the adult on duty is less likely to beat your ass for doing this to me."
"…kind of a toss-up," he laughs quietly. "Which bed do you like better, mine or yours?"
"Don't care, as long as you're in it."
"You know… we've got lots of supplies… mattress in the back… we could just park in the woods by Lover's Lake for a few days."
You consider it while he drives.
"Eddie?"
"Yeah, babe?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
"I wasn't done."
"…okay?"
"I love you, but I'm not peeing in the woods for a week."
He snorts and puts on his turn signal.
Taking an epic road trip and camping out in a field in Illinois with a bunch of kick-ass bands you'd never heard before was a nice idea.
But hanging out in your basement and listening to Corroded Coffin practice the same songs as always wasn't bad either.

Update for Sept. 25th, 2024*:
I do try to update the 'coming soon' section of my pinned regularly, but in case you haven't checked that out -
I have been working to finish The Way You Miss Me (titled after a song by All Time Low) - a Fred Weasley x Fem!Reader Exes to Lovers fic where Fred and Reader break up when Fred leaves with George to open the shop in Diagon Alley, and then Reader is called to help with the Seven Potters mission - but she has a terrible fear of heights, to flying on the back of Fred's broom make things terrifying and complicated for her.
I am 8,600 words into a fic I thought would be 10k overall, but I think it's gonna end up being 15k? And my goal for today is to get the fic to at least 10k before quitting for the day. So I am like - a little bit more than halfway done with the first draft.
I think I should have it first draft finished by Sunday or Monday of this upcoming week, writing 1k or 2k a day and not pushing myself to work too hard. And then I'll probably run a poll to decide between some other Harry Potter related ideas and edit it while that poll is running! So I think this fic could be posted right at the beginning of October (this September has felt scarily short omg).
If you want to be notified when this fic is posted, you can sign up for my Harry Potter taglist here, just make sure that you read my taglist rules first!! And if you are new to my blog and want something to read in the meantime, then check out my Harry Potter Masterlist
*Decided I should put the date on these things because a lot of people don't have the dashboard timestamps turned on, and I don't want somebody to randomly discover a post from months ago or years ago and think that it is still relevant to what I'm working on now if it's a lost WIP or even something I already finished - if it is something I already finished, and somebody randomly goes back to like the post, I will try to go back and add a link to the finished fic. But let us all have common sense, and if the post is dated from a long ass time ago, and the fic with this description is not on my masterlist already, either send me a kind message about it asking if I posted it or realize that it just never got done and never got posted, thank you.

Me (an atheist) : Damn how am i gonna explain this one now
see i dont think i could ever be an atheist because I rely very HEAVILY on God to do miracles to solve my problems. Like I cant count the amount of times I've been pulled out of trouble when I had ZERO hope or chances of coming out alive, and then just a quick prayer to God/Allah and Im all set :)
Like this is not me trying to convince anyone to be religous or something, but like i dont think i could possibly function without God because i just need HIS HELP every single day.
Im sure if most of you sat down and recalled moments in your life where things just seemed to fall in line out of nowhere, when deep down you knew that this was more than just a random coincidence, that one problem you just couldnt find any solution to, and then BAM! Its done. Your issue is solved. Youre out of trouble. Your secret is safe.
Personally, I think that having a relationship with God is important for your mental health. Like Allah doesnt need me to praise him, thank him and stuff. I need to thank him for all the He blesses me with, because well- if I'm more grateful, wouldn't I be more blessed? Wouldnt He give me more?
Ofc its not like God hates those who arent grateful to Him, or that he takes away His blessings from people who dont thank him. There have been times that I hadnt been praying to Allah, hadnt been a good muslim, but... Allah didnt take away His blessings. He didnt punish me, He didnt even lessen His gifts. And yet, deep down, despite having everything in my life, I still felt... abnormal. Anxious. Depressed even. Maybe I felt so restless because I didnt have Allah with me. Which is weird, because why dont I have God with me? Isnt God supposed to love all his creations, his beings?
And thats when it hits you- Allah has always been there. He's still in the same spot, waiting for you- for me, to return to Him. It is me, you, the human who gets lost in worldly pleasures and moves away from God. And you know, Allah guides who He wills, so maybe thats why some of us feel restless even though we have everything. Sometimes Allah sends some trials our way, just to remind us of Him, to make us call Him for help, to run and return to Him. Sometimes Allah sends more blessings our way, so that we become more thankful, return to Him and ask for more- as is human nature.
And some of you may ask, as i did, "so if Allah only guides who He wills- if Allah has already planned everything, if He already knows everything, then why should I make an effort to do better? Maybe He made me this way? Maybe I was meant to not be guided?" and I think the answer to this is that the very fact that you're reading this post, the fact that you have such a dilemma about your relationship with God, the fact that you question your current belief system, maybe its Allah's sign for you.
I think that to do something, anything, we must first desire for it to happen. So... if you and I have this question about our relationship with God, and then develop a desire to improve this relationship, then maybe it is God's will to guide us.
Nothing happens without His will, so this post reaching your dashboard, you reading this despite knowing by the first two paragraphs that this is not a fic, this was Allah's will, hm?

Spencer Reid & Reader // 900 words
~ While driving together, Spencer Reid comforts his coworker’s intrusive thoughts in his typical Reid-y way.
~ Can be read as Platonic or Romantic, but written with platonic in mind.
“Are you alright?” Doctor Reid pulled his eyes away from the file open in his hand and looked over to you. You almost didn’t notice his look, as your own eyes were too busy scanning the road in front of you, and you nearly missed his question too.
As your eyes flitted from car to car, the rational part of your brain tried to keep you focused on the road, but it was fighting a losing battle. You could feel your thoughts get a bit lost. Every shadow from trees was a pedestrian in the road, you misjudged car parts for roadkill, and every bump in the road gave you the overwhelming feeling of getting into a crash. Every turn felt like it was going to send you into a tailspin.
“Yeah.” You said shortly. Reid furrowed his eyebrows.
“The wheel isn’t going to go anywhere.” He added a bit of a lift to his voice and you looked down at your hands. They gripped the steering wheel of the SUV, whitening your knuckles, and you also felt their involuntary shaking.
“I know.” You kept your responses short. You noticed this but too much brain power was being used to try to keep the car on the road. You ticked your head back and felt your neck crack slightly.
“You’re shaking.” He closed the folder and slipped it on the dashboard.
“Yeah.” I drifted around in the lane, micro-adjusting the steering wheel unnecessarily. We drove toward a stoplight, and it turned yellow, surprising me. I came to a clunky stop which lurched both Reid and I forward. “Sorry,” I apologized, “I have my license, promise.” I lightheartedly smiled at Spencer in the passenger seat. He stared back at me straight-faced and I could feel his eyes searching my face.
“What’s wrong?”
I didn’t want him to find the reason stupid, even though I knew he’d be fine about it.
“Oh, nothing.” A pedestrian in the crosswalk waved at me and I struggled to hold in my impulse control.
“I can tell you’re lying, y/n, seriously. Also the light is green.” I groaned and accelerated before any angry driver behind me decided to let me know.
“I’ll be fine. What’s the exit?” I changed the subject as I pulled onto a cloverleaf to enter the freeway. My brain immediately clouded with all the new cars around me, and now at higher speeds, I could feel every bump and vibration.
“Exit 54.”
My head ticked forward this time and my hands started to feel very lightweight.
“Great.” If Reid was categorizing my movements, I wouldn’t have seen anything. With the incessant hum of the car worming its way through my head, I scanned the upcoming direction signs and flicked on my blinker to switch to the rightmost lane. The car lurched a bit, moved right, then wobbled in the lane before settling much too far on one side.
Jesus, it’s like you just got your permit or something.
I exited on 54, but it felt too soon. Reid directed me left at another stoplight, then had me pull into an empty parking lot. I put the vehicle and park and cocked my head at Reid.
“I’ll drive.” He said simply. Thank you. I blessed Spencer in my head. Normally I would have protested, but I felt far too much fear to even think about pulling out of the parking lot.
He was out of the car and beside the driver's side door before I had even opened it. I got out, Spencer got it, shifted the seat and mirrors, then put the car in reverse when I managed myself into the passenger seat.
“You know, intrusive thoughts are a very common occurrence-“ He pulled out of the lot and started back on course, “-about 96 percent of the population admit to having them.”
It didn’t immediately register in my head he was talking to me, I just stared through the windshield and slowly opened and closed my hands into fists. My wrists jerked a little for a moment, then I just played with my hands.
“The most common ones tend to be about doing something illegal, like theft or vandalism, thoughts of violence like murder or suicide, or unwanted sexual imagery. They can vary from just a thought crossing your mind to being a very debilitating mental affect. And while intrusive thoughts can be indicative of an underlying mental health condition like OCD and other anxiety disorders, it’s actually quite normal and not at all a reflection of a person's character or moral standing.”
His voice rambled very evenly, but his inflections felt more empathetic than usual. I sighed and looked at him. His eyes were on the road, but I saw him smirk when he glanced over.
“Professionals aren’t always sure why a person experiences intrusive thoughts, but I tend to think of it as a by-product of our internal defense system. A lot of times the unwelcome thought has no connection to the action a person is taking, but in stressful situations it can be the brain's coping mechanism.”
I laugh.
“Why are you telling me all this, Spencer?” I know why he’s telling me, he probably knows me better than I know myself.
“So next time you can just tell me you don’t want to drive.”
My hands still feel clammy, and small anxious ticks still take over my movements, but I nod.
“Will do.” After a beat of silence he looks over at me.
“I’m being serious.” He looks at me through his curly brown bangs.
“So am I. Thank you. Now eyes back on the road.”

"Umm Pookie? My feet can't reach the pedals." You said as your feet were dangling in the driver's seat of Jack's Pontiac.
"Baby, you have to adjust the seat on the side. Remember I showed you how to do it yesterday?"
"Oh, okay." You responded as you reached for the button to move you closer to the steering wheel.
You turned the car on, but Jack immediately turned it off leaving you confused.
"What did I do wrong?"
"Seatbelt, mamas. If this was the test for real you would have already failed."
"But you turn the car on before putting it on!" You answered while looking over at him.
"And I already have a license so I can do what I want. You on the other hand cannot." He quickly replied and you immediately rolled your eyes.
"I don't like the attitude I'm getting from you."
"I'm only trying to help you to make sure you pass the first time. We only have about a month left until we leave for Atlanta. And didn't you say your goal was to have your license before we leave?"
"Yes."
"Okay, let's try again. Seatbelt first."
After you snapped the seatbelt in place, you turned the car on.
"Make sure your foot is on the brake and then put it in drive babe."
Thank goodness Jack's car was an automatic because there was no way in the world you would be able to drive stick.
"Okay, let's go. And please tell me you have your permit with you this time."
"OKAY, THAT WAS ONE TIME."
"AND THAT ONE TIME WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN PULLED OVER."
"BUT DID YOU DIE!?"
"I'm about to drop you off with Urban so he can do this."
"He's high like 90% of the time so how would that even work?"
"Good point. So I guess I'm stuck with you."
"You say that like it's a bad thing. Keep in mind you married me."
"I thought it was a good idea at the time."
"JACKMAN THOMAS HARLOW!" You exclaimed while smacking his arm and he immediately laughed.
"I'm only playing, baby. Come here and let me kiss you."
"No. Suddenly I'm allergic to you."
Jack then reached over to place a kiss on your cheek and you swatted his hand away so he took the opportunity to turn your face towards him and place several kisses on your lips.
"I love you." Jack said but you crossed your arms.
"And I tolerate you."
"BABY!"
"Okay, where to first?"
—-
"BABY! THAT WAS A STOP SIGN!"
"Oh oops."
"No. I don't want to hear that. You would have definitely failed. AND COULD HAVE HIT SOMEONE."
"I CAN’T SEE OVER THE STEERING WHEEL!"
"DO I NEED TO GO AND BUY YOU A BOOSTER SEAT!?! I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU COULD SEE!?"
"I don't know. Maybe!"
You were coming to a red light and pressed on the brake a little too hard sending Jack's forehead flying forward into the dashboard.
"GOT DAMN IT!" Jack exclaimed before looking over at you and giving you the evil eye.
"I'm sorry, smush. I'll suck your dick later to make up for it."
"You need to do a lot more than that because you know this shit is about to bruise."
"Come here, lean over and let me kiss it."
"NO! You've done enough for today." Jack muttered while massaging the spot that was hit on his forehead.
"Pookie, stop being dramatic."
"How can I not be when your test is tomorrow? How did you even pass driving school!?"
"Dani knows a guy who signed off on it for me."
"Oh, of course she does." Jack responded while rolling his eyes.
"I mean the only reason why I'm doing this is to hang out with little baby when you're busy in the studio."
"EXCUSE ME?"
"What? What did I say?"
"You know what you said so don't start."
"Can we take a food break? I'm hungry."
"A break? Baby, we have only been out here for fifteen minutes." Jack peered over at you and you simply shrugged.
"It's too bright outside for me to put you in my mouth so McDonald's is the next best thing."
"Look, go through the drive thru and let's make this quick."
"Are we going on the highway?" You curiously asked and Jack's eyes went wide.
"Baby, you can barely handle being on the street."
"I promise that I can do it!"
"Ehh, let's practice parallel parking first before we do that."
"You have ZERO confidence in me."
"Umm, I wouldn't use those exact words, I just feel at this point in time you won't pass and we'll have to do this all over again."
"Wow, way to shoot your wife down." You responded while rolling your eyes.
"We took our vows before God when we got married and I am not about to lie to you."
"Well come tomorrow, I'm about to prove you wrong."
"Even if you don't, you're still keeping your promise to give me head since you tried to end my life earlier right?"
"Keep getting smart with me and I'll bite it off."
It was now Friday morning and time for your test so Jack was giving you a pep talk or at least attempting to. But you were barely paying him any attention.
"You know you got this baby. Remember everything that I taught you."
"Hmm, I'm more concerned about my outfit for my license picture. Pick between these two." You said while turning towards Jack and holding up two different shirts.
"I- …."
"Pick one Jackman before you make me late!"
"Baby, all you're concerned about is your picture when I'm concerned about you actually passing."
"If worst comes to worst, you'll continue driving me around." You replied while shrugging while Jack shook his head.
"Now pick one big head!"
"I'll show you a big head alright and go with the white one."
"I'm ignoring you and how should I do my hair?"
"This is not a photoshoot for a magazine! Baby, come on." Jack exclaimed while looking at the time.
"High ponytail it is and do you think that if I ask if Urban can take my license picture that they'll let him? He knows all my angles."
"And my favorite angle is you on all fours or you on your knees, but no. Baby, this is the DMV not Vogue."
"I…. Jackman behave. Speak for yourself! But, it was worth a try. Maybe if I don't like it he can hack into the system to change it."
"Baby…. Just get dressed so we can leave."
“You are so impatient this morning.” You muttered before sliding on your shirt and taking your hair down out of the bonnet to put it in a curly ponytail.
“My baby looks so pretty and you best believe that if we didn’t have anywhere to be right now that I would be rearranging your guts.”
“We can do that later, you are not about to mess up my make-up with your shenanigans.”
“My shenanigans had you screaming last night and will be doing the same exact thing later.”
“That was you screaming, not me. Did you hit your head?”
“No, but I’m definitely hitting them backshots for you getting smart with your husband, now get your ass in the car.”
You simply smirked at Jack before sliding past him and making sure that you took your sweet time so that your ass grazed his dick and he immediately groaned.
“Now why would you do that because you know I don’t have any problem bending you over right now.”
“We have somewhere to be smush, remember?”
“I’m going to tear that ass up later.”
“Can’t wait.”
Jack had his mouth hanging wide open when you went in line to get your license picture.
You had passed and he didn’t even know how you were able to do it and he thought that Dani probably knew someone that she told to let you pass.
“Don’t look so surprised, smush. I told you that I would pass.” You said while leaning over to kiss his cheek now that the two of you were back in his car.
“I’m not… I just….”
“Admit it, you thought that I was going to fail, but I guarantee that I’m going to be a better driver than you are.”
“I… highly doubt that, but whatever helps you sleep at night, babe.”
“Now I need to get my Range Rover.”
“I thought that you wanted a G Wagon?”
“Why not both?” You curiously asked while smiling at him.
“I’ll add it to my list of many things that I need to buy for my wife once I hit my first million.”
You simply shook your head no.
“Absolutely not, that can wait. I just… can’t wait for you to finally get the recognition that you deserve. I might be biased, but I know that my husband is the shit and that there are big things in store for him. I’m just happy to be along for the ride and the fact that I get to see it happen in real time.”
“Now you know good and damn well that when it does happen, you are going to get taken care of first. Whatever you want. You have been the person to constantly push me in order to make this happen and I will get you anything that you ask me for, big or small. I made a promise to not only you, but your parents that I was going to take care of you.”
“I knew that I made the right decision to marry you, even if you get on my nerves sometimes.”
“I… love you too because I know that’s what you meant.” Jack answered before leaning over to kiss you and you eagerly kissed him back before your hand began to move south to slip into his boxers to lightly stroke him.
“Babe…”
“I promised you head for you hitting your head on the dashboard, didn't I? Now start driving while I fulfill my promise and make sure we don’t crash, because that would be a hell of an explanation we have to give to the police.”
“I’m not even scared of the police, it’s my parents.”
“Hmm, good point. Now drive.”

i had originally planned to make a year-end post for all my lovely friends/mutuals which then got dragged into the first week of 2023 on my bday ;;;;; but thank you so much to all the lovely people that have followed this quaint little blog of mine and supported my content throughout my time here on tumblr! i can’t believe it’ll be a whole 1460 days since i made this account later this year... feels like just yesterday i signed up and logged in for the first time ever hehe
it always brings a smile to my face seeing each and every single silly, cute, sweet, supportive tag under any of my gifs, graphics, fanart etc.! i really cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it is to see people like my work enough to reblog it, take time out of their day to gush about it in the tags or send me the occasional ask/dm complimenting any aspect of it (´,,•ω•,,)♡ i truly appreciate all of you.
with the new year finally here and all, i’m sure a lot of people have resolutions and expectations set for the next 365 days so just remember to take it easy⏤start small and that’ll eventually lead you to kick bigger goals out there! you’ll see that every micro-habit has a monumentous impact when you look back on your progress, so read even one paragraph daily or go to sleep 15 mins earlier than you usually would. after all, buildings don’t just appear out of nowhere, you have to stack each brick one by one c: just make sure to not overexert yourself!

AO3 Tip Number 3: Understanding Profiles (Yours and Others)
You have to sign up for ao3 (there is usually a wait list. It normally doesn’t take longer than a week once you sign up, and honestly less time than that in my experience.)
First option is Dashboard. This is just a little overview of your account (whether your own or, if you click on another author, their account). I don’t spend a whole lot of time here.
Profile gives you info on your username, when you joined, if you want to add a little bio you can. Again, not something I use on a daily basis at all.
Set my preferences is where you can make decisions on your own privacy, display, time zone, miscellaneous, etc.
I honestly don’t know what skins is (and I also don’t care to know either).
Works will list out anything you have posted (or anything someone else has - if you are viewing their profile). You can sort in here same as you do when trying to find works. Drafts is where you can store works without posting them, if you want to post at a specific date and time. Drafts can only be stored within ao3 for a month before they get deleted.
Series is what I spoke about last post, with the collections. You can see any series that an author has, search through them, etc.
Bookmarks is where you can find any of those works that you have bookmarked! Again, you can sort these based on the same things are when you are searching for a work :)
Your Inbox is if you have any comments on your works, or replies to comments you have left on works! They will show up here - and you can mark them “read” or “unread” if you wish to keep the notification (so for example I right now have 49 comments I have yet to respond to, and 2423 in total). You can also click “read” on a comment if you’ve received it but don’t wish to respond!
Stats page is only for those who post works - you can view stats on your page as a whole and on specific works you have posted. I can go into more detail about this if someone is curious!
History is an important one! Let me show you what it looks like:
What is automatically pulled up is your full history (see top right gray button selected). So this is every work you have clicked on when logged into your ao3 account. It also tells you when you last viewed the work, and how many times you have viewed it as well. You can delete a singular work from your history with the gray “delete from history” button.
If you look at the top of the page you’ll see more gray buttons. The automatic one is full history. Marked for Later is from what I talked about last post, where you can hit “Mark for Later,” all of those works are stored here for you. To unmark them, you have to go back into the work and select “Mark Read,” which will be in the same location as “Mark for Later.”
You can also clear your history completely, if you so choose to.
Subscriptions shows any works that you have subscribed to in order to get emails! You can also go onto an authors page, and on their dashboard you can subscribe to their page specifically. So for example let’s say you love @girlgenius1111 and want to read whatever they post (lord knows that’s what I’m doing lol) regardless of who it’s about - you can subscribe to their page to get an email anytime they post.
I ignore Sign-ups, Assignments, Claims, and Related Works. Gifts shows any works that have been gifted to either you or the person whose profile you are viewing.
Any questions? Send me a message or an ask and I can try to answer it as best I can!

On Yellbot Dot Online
Over on @lazardotsocial I’ve gotten into the habit of writing essays about each generation, discussing generally thoughts on the project. I've been enjoying it, so now I’m going to do that for Yellbot.
Yellbot obviously was inspired by the classic Endless Screaming bot, but also because I had an ActivityPub idea and the yelling was an easy way to try it out. A neat technical detail of Yellbot is that there aren't any accounts or users. I have database tables for posts and follows but nothing for each individual bot. When someone looks at an account, all the information is created on the fly. When I’m making new posts, I look at all the letters people have followed and make posts for them. Until someone looks at or follows a letter, it doesn’t exist and it doesn’t need to exist.
This enables behaviors that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. You couldn’t make Yellbot on twitter - you’d have to create over a billion accounts or get permission to create as many accounts as you wanted, whenever you wanted. Neither option is realistic. But by having my own server and connecting to the larger ActivityPub network, it’s easy. A centralized service could never.
Now, yelling isn’t very valuable but I think this basic structure here could be applied elsewhere. You need two things:
1. Something that can be reference just through a username, like a name, definition of behavior, a start state, etc.
2. A behavior that happens occasionally – those are the posts.
So, you could have
Each account is a zipcode that posts whenever there’s a dangerous weather alert.
Each account is a wikipedia page that posts whenever the page is edited.
An account for every book on Project Gutenberg. When someone follows one it starts posting the book, sentence by sentence (in the style of Bedtime Story Bot). When it finishes, everyone gets unfollowed and the account is deleted, until someone follows again and it restarts.
Something like Sam Lavigne and Tega Brain’s project The Good Life – an account for each e-mail address and it posts each e-mail in real time.
Each account's username defines the rules for a cellular automata and each post is a generation.
Thinking up examples and possible applications lead me to thinking about what kinds of information ActivityPub is suited for. For example, here in Chicago every bus station has a 5 digit code on the sign. You can text to a number to receive schedule updates. So you could make a server with an account for each bus station.
Like this. Image from the Chicago Transit Authority
But what would it post? Nobody wants to know every time a bus arrives at a station. That’s too many posts cluttering up your timeline and all but the most recent one are irrelevant. Similarly, you wouldn’t want to receive the temperature through ActivityPub, because you only care about the current temperature, not all the past temperatures.
When you make a post on Mastodon, your server sends the messages to all the servers of accounts who follow you and they’re responsible for storing and displaying them. That’s the “publish” in ActivityPub. This makes it suited for activities where having the entire history is desirable - you don’t want to know just what your friends said most recently, you want to know everything they said. For cases where only the most recent version counts (like temperatures or buses), you’re better of letting the client request the data when they want it.
(I have loose thoughts here about Robin Sloan’s Spring ‘83 protocol, which is a person-to-person social communication system that doesn’t maintain any kind of history and (if I’m understanding the protocol correctly) doesn’t guarantee that you see every board from the people you follow. You couldn’t build Yellbot (or something equivalent) in Spring ‘83 due to key limitations, but the board format would be well suited for a dashboard type application.)
If your behavior doesn’t happen too often, you could still use ActivityPub and it wouldn’t be too annoying even if you don’t care about history. And it would have the benefit of putting the information someplace you’re already checking. If you’re already checking your the timeline daily, if a piece of info is added in there, you’re guaranteed to see it. That’s a big advantage and in many cases it'll be worth the clutter. I think daily is infrequent enough but exact amount of time would vary by person.
This project was an extension of the ActivityPub implementation I did for Lazar gen 7 and it takes the implementation a couple steps closer to totality. I have another project, which I put on hold to make Yellbot, which requires a complete implementation and it seems a lot more manageable now. So there may be more ActivityPub in the future, although no guarantees about how far in the future.

This is definitely NOT how I wanted to spend a Sunday (or any of my money)!
Even though it was raining, I got in my car earlier to make my usual Sunday morning grocery run. As a I started driving down the street things didn't seem too off at first, but I noticed that my engine sound a bit higher pitched than its normal relatively quiet growl. Very shortly after that, it began to hesitate as I tried to speed up. A few seconds later as I stopped at a stop sign, it decided it did not want to get back in gear.
I shut off the engine for a few minutes, then after I restarted it, I was able to at least get it to shift in to first gear as I turned around and pulled into an empty (and luckily covered) parking lot so I could at least pretend to know what I was looking for after popping the hood.
I didn't notice anything obvious; no visible leaks or anything like that. Again, I started the engine and was able to get it to shift into reverse and then first gear to try and make it home. I only got maybe 100 yards down the street before it slipped out of gear and coasted to a stop.
It was at this point when my dashboard starting flashing up big "Transmission Fault. Service Vehicle Now!" messages.
I knew what I was about to do would possibly make the situation a bit worse, but I really wanted to get my car off of the street and as close to home as possible. So, once more, I started the engine, somehow got it shift into gear and began driving back down the street. The light at the end of the street had just turned yellow, but I was able to get all the way through the intersection and coast through a parking lot towards the small side street leading to my home.
Two more attempts of shutting off the engine for a few minutes, then getting it to shift into first, and I was finally back at an open parking lot close to my apartment that a tow truck could easily get into in order to pick up my car.
Being a Sunday, there are no transmission shops open anywhere within 100 miles of me. There are also no car rental places open, either (except at the airport, but I am not going all the way out there just to rent a car).
Even though the shop is not open today, I still called a tow truck to pick up my car and drop it off there (which my insurance policy fortunately pays for). By chance, there was a tow truck driver about 15 minutes away, who just decided on a whim to work this morning.
I have already called my boss and disturbed her Sunday morning to let her know that I will not be at work tomorrow, because I still need to go back out to the transmission shop first thing in the morning to officially drop off my keys and fill out the paperwork. Then, I need to go rent a car so I can get to work everyday while the repairs are hopefully getting completed. After which, I will still need to head to the store in order to buy groceries so I don't starve this week. Which brings us back to where this entire ordeal began.
So, if anyone wants to just give me money to help pay for what will most likely be a very expensive repair, feel free to send a message. I will always gladly accept donations.
#personal#mine#car problems#expensive car problems#I am not looking forward to that bill#it will probably drain my savings#give me money#please give me money!

hi. writing here because of your privacy settings, sorry.
from what i’ve seen you’re doing supporting for fundraisers, and i wanted to ask for your help.
i’ve had a person submit an ask to me saying they’re from gaza and need donations. i’ve never had experience with anything like this, but i’m trying to ask questions. they don’t share much info about themselves. their link leads to a something something linktree where you can donate with paypal. they sent me a photo per request, upon looking it up in google it leads to a gofundme https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-aqlain-family-evacuate-gaza?modal=donations&tab=all
can’t open it because of the country i live in, but the date is set to 16 feb. the name there doesn’t match name in their link, or the name they’ve sent me per my request.
:•( i’m getting a fishy vibe, but i’m worried it could be a person new to tumblr or eng speaking social media in general.
hi! sorry for responding so late. you did everything correctly and those are all definitely signs of it being a scam. i just talked w a friend about this (ill copy and paste my tips below).
i completely understand the worry. many of these red flags aren't outright indicators that every single blog that fits them is a scam, but the combination of things is what really makes the case. it's unfortunate but, a big red flag generally is if a new blog sends you an ask about donations. it's a common scam tactic from before this nakba. the scammers are just exploiting palestinians' genocide instead of the other issues they typically exploit.
obviously not all of these tips are absolute indicators of a scam and some are already things youve considered! but my general tips:
1. is the blog just new? if the icon is of a real person, is it their image? (you can reverse google image search! w mobile you'll have to save the image first and find a site for it. i typically use labnol but i can help you find alternatives if youd like!) are the posts they're reblogging related to the things that you post? (consider: how did they find you) are the posts they're reblogging coming from an actual dashboard rather than the recommendation page? (indicates that they're reblogging popular posts without any rhyme or reason to look like a real blog) is their first post a donation post and was it just made? (dates the blog. you can look in their archives to see the date of their earliest post)
2. where are they linking to? im not sure if your device has an option to preview a link url before sending you to the page but if it does, i would use that here just to be safe. do the names of the accounts match? (note that in this case, of course, many fundraisers are being raised by people outside of palestine. but if the blog claims to be the account owner, do their names seem to match? if theres a description, do the names match the ones the blog gives?) does it lead to a paypal instead of a gofundme? heavily stressing that this obv doesnt mean every request from someone using paypal is a scam, esp w the way gfm has been screwing over some palestinians, BUT paypal is often what scammers would use. gofundme is generally reliable and every fundraiser is donation protected, meaning its possible to get a refund from gofundme in the rare case that the fundraiser is a scam.
3. verifying gfm's can be a lot harder bc my go to options aren't always available. generally what i do is to look at through the organizer's updates, the fundraiser's description <- which obv you should always do anyways, and the fundraisers photos to see if theres anymore information about social media accounts related to the fundraiser. sometimes people will link twitter profiles, sometimes people will link instagram profiles. its just the same process of scrolling back as far as you can and seeing if you can identify the same face(s) from before more people started exploiting these traumas to scam others, seeing when the profile was made, checking if the images are truly from the profile's owners and not stolen, etc.
the biggest indicators imo are the stolen photos since the originals almost always link back to a name that doesn't match the blog.

"I don't know how it's physically possible for someone so tiny to be so hugely annoying, but Maura manages it for sure...unfortunately, she doesn't quite manage to see over her dashboard, so fair warning to any of y'all wandering a little too close to the edge of the sidewalk. I'm working personally with the city to get some hazard signs with her face on them posted around."
"Look, I'd never say it to her face or anything, and don't go spreading it around, but...she's the closest thing I've got to a sister. We'd always been close, but during everything with my mom, me having to move into my aunt and uncle's for a bit...Maura was the one that honestly kept me from slipping into a really dark place, and I don't even think she was trying. It's a big family, and it's easy to get lost in it, but she's like...my anchor or something, keeps me tethered. Ew, yeah, no, that might've been too nice. If she heard me, I'd never hear the end of it. Forget it. Hey, have I shown you that video of her wiping the fuck out on her rollerblades?"

You know, I'm seeing people complaining about ask games, and I feel so awful because so many of them are by me. I'm not trying to annoy anyone, but it seems like that's what's happening. Am I making the community worse? I feel like I always do this no matter where I go...
Should I just stop confessing here and leave this blog? /genq
-I would sign this, but you probably know who this is anyway
I don't think that's the case at all. Going by the poll, a lot of people do want ask games. And it's not the ask games that people dislike, it's the amount of replies to them. And ok, maybe they could be handled a bit better so people's dashboards aren't spammed by things they have less interest in. I also have a slower dashboard from following fewer blogs, so this may be a problem for others with slow dashboards.
Meaning they could be tagged for blacklisting or have initial time limits for playing them. That's more my fault for not consider that, than anyone's for simply sending in ask game entries or replies.
Like, imo, if people really didn't like your or other people's ask games, there wouldn't be so many replies to them. Right? Right.
I'm don't know who you are, but I'd hope you stick around, sending in anything or nothing as you please. I don't want anyone to feel excluded because of ask games. Either you or the person who sent in the initial discussion about managing them differently.

me every time @kaizokugaris comes across my dashboard
soda is so nifty. also, our queues decided they hated us on the exact same day so as far as i'm concerned that means we're physically linked now or something idk i don't know how astrology works, astrology girlies tell me what the universe is trying to say. i think it's trying to say we should be friends.
she's super popular and as we speak people are rb'ing her promo on the dash and saying how awesome she is which proves my point like wow the universe keeps sending me signs.
if you're seeing this right now, this is also a sign. a sign that you should go follow her.
