Five season 1/2

Five was a grumpy brat, his first reaction upon seeing you was disbelief.

-We're literally at a funeral, Five - you snap back grumpily - and this is my new style, accept it as soon as possible you annoying brat.

-What's up with that rude attitude, you punk? - Five snaps back irritably as he gets closer to you - Sorry, Grandpa, we're already in the future - you smile, ruffling his hair and running to take refuge behind Diego.

Still reluctant, Five tried to get used to his new lifestyle. Always ready with a joke or a witty comment about something, until the day he snuck into the house looking for you - "I'm just bored and you're this different from everything else" - finding you entertained with headphones as you danced absentmindedly around the room, immersed in a little world all your own.

-Are you struggling in pain or something? - Five enters the room after watching you dance for longer than he would admit - Do you need a doctor? - He sprawls on your bed, looking too comfortable in your space.

-get out of here, grandpa - You take off your headphones and stare at Five - Weren't you stopping the apocalypse or something dramatic like that? - You kick his legs off your bed and sit next to him - Unfortunately, I'm on an unwanted day off, much to your joy, what are you doing? - he asks with a disdainful air as he snatches the headphones from your hand and puts them on.

-nothing you like, little psychopath - you laugh, watching Five listen intently to the music, it was a random song by BVB, his grimace slowly turned into contemplation, and you could have sworn you saw the shadow of a smile before he jumped into space with your headphones - hey you bastard - you screamed when you realized the theft.

Five season 3

You couldn't tell at what point exactly the old-fashioned, talkative Five became your music companion, he still made faces at your clothing choices and hairstyles, and made comments about your "rebellious age". But you could easily notice his occasional appearance whenever you listened to music, always criticizing you when you skipped his favorites, claiming they were the least bad ones, he was a terrible liar. He also accompanied you to a concert - "I'm just making sure you don't get mixed up with other punks and disappear"

-wasn't the apocalypse supposed to happen in three days? You should be trying to stop it, but here you are - you grumble at him - but here you are like a punk.

-I'm not here for this nonsense - Five stops talking as soon as he sees the band enter, his attention now focused on the band with an idiotic smile. - Nonsense, you're more excited than me, you fangirl.

FIve just lets out a guilty laugh and shrugs, no sarcastic responses, just accepting the fact that maybe, just a little bit of him enjoyed all of this.

Five season 4

- Im hooome, you won't believe it, I got two tickets to...- Five stops in the middle of the living room,frozen with an envelope in his hand.- What is this? What happened to your clothes? - he asks terrified. looking for any trace of black clothes, worn-out Converse, ripped jeans, even the damn slicked-back hairstyle you chose to wear sometimes.

It had been a few weeks since Five had left on a mission for the CIA, which means you hadn't had any contact with him during that time. You had a bit of a change. Maybe a bit radical. You can just smile and take a little walk, showing off your pink cowboy outfit with sparkles and sequins.

Watching 2012 TMNT (aka peak TV) again and I have so much to say. I'm gonna combat the writer's weird romance stuff with ✨headcanons✨ (spoilers for season 2 in here!)

Leo doesn't have a crush on his (unknown for season 1 and 2, maybe season 3??) stepsister, (s)he wants to be her! Leo thinks Karai is pretty and realizes she might be a girl. April is a good friend, but Karai is cool, she's got a (literally) metal style, with a kickass hairstyle and rocker makeup. Leo wants to be as confident as her, as a girl!

I actually do ship Casey and April together, they have much more chemistry just from Casey's first appearance rather than how long Donnie and April have been friends. I'm lowkey a big fan of jealous Donnie though, it just fits him somehow. Not creep/stalker Donnie though, too creepy :(. Like I can understand that he doesn't know how to express his feelings for her, but I don't like this portrayal of him, he's not like in any other series! (As far as I know, I've only watched this and Rise, but I feel like I would've seen people talk about it if it happened in other TMNT series.) I don't ship Casey and Donnie either, I like the bromance between Casey and Raph much more. Casey and Donnie do Not like each other at first, cause they're both fighting for April (which is so ridiculous)

Also Casey writes in his diary that April is someone close to him! That's so sweet, whether it's romantic or not, (even if the intention is romantic) they have a really good bond.

Not liking how April will make Donnie believe he has a chance when he doesn't with kissing him, but I do believe she genuinely calls out for him because she knows he'll come for her fast, whether she's aware of his feelings for her or not (she probably is :/)

Also I'm watching season 2 episode 8 right now and why are they making Derp!April freaky???

I'm sad that Raph lost Spike, I wish he didn't turn into Slash, I think Spike was a great pet to show Raph's softer side, and a good constant in his day to day when his brothers were pissing him off. He literally starts destroying stuff now that Spike isn't around in season 2 episode 9!

I love how much Raph loves Mikey (AS BROTHERS!!! i feel like I have to clarify cause the amount of brother shippers is too many, and y'all aren't welcome on my page) like any time Mikey gets hurt Raph is the first one to notice and scream "Mikey!" I love their younger sibling dynamic since they act the most like siblings (though Leo, Donnie, and Mikey got their part of teasing their siblings)

Casey is so punk, you know he DIY'ed all the stuff he has, especially with the makeshift electrocuter. And wearing both face paint and a mask? Hell yeah! I wanna read more on punk history and why people wear a mask rather than Casey's reason of "cause it's cool!"

THTH2 Episodes 1-3 Thoughts!

Eeeek it's THTH2 (Too Hot to Handle the game) time!! Last season fizzled out halfway through but based on the first few episodes of season 2, I've got hopes that this one will be better!

First of all, it's 15 episodes as opposed to 10 - there's room for development (and more bombshells/dumpings!)

There's more customization! I feel like it's improved, although others have said they had a harder time with it. I'm not a huge fan of the hairstyles and outfits we've been given so far, but we'll get more

In the initial episodes, there are 5 friends and only 4 LIs - that might be a little disappointing at first (especially since the friends are all hot - URGH I want Santiago!!), but this actually fixes some of the problems with the first season

More non-romanceable characters is a good thing because it means there will be more storylines besides MC/LI and Jada/Justin/Carter

A lot of us started to hate Jada after a while because she kept popping up and we were forced to be friends with her. Having more friends is a good thing because we'll be able to talk to more people instead of just one person. I'm hoping there will be some branching involved where some scenes are dependent on who your highest relationship is with, but we'll see!

Less LIs is fine for the reasons above - sure there's less choice up front, but with next to no branching in S1, every route was the same, and there were only 3 couples at the end. It didn't make sense. Plus...

We're already getting at least one bombshell next week! It's highly likely they'll be LI(s), and no doubt there will be more people incoming

In Season 1, all the LIs had hard-ons for MC even when MC didn't show them any interest - so far that doesn't seem to be the case, and I love that. It was weird that 9 people were obsessed with us, honestly. This time, our choices matter more

They're already setting up a love triangle! It makes so much more sense to have a LT early on when everyone's new rather than force it with a bombshell we don't even like midway through the season

The characters so far seem to have more personality traits than just whatever their jobs/interests are. Hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, and there is definitely still some of that, but I feel like I've already had deeper chats with them. And they ask about us too, and we can define a bit more of a personality for ourselves

I picked Antoine so far (love a Canadian hockey player!!). He's basically an upgraded (yes, I said it) version of Theo (the art style is slightly improved - the smiles aren't as creepy this time!). I wasn't a Theo girlie but so far I'm vibing with Antoine

I was a Liam girlie, but Liam 2.0 (Wesley) doesn't have quite the same appeal. He's still hot, but Idk, he's not my Liam

There's a fun Antoine glitch (not sure if any of the other characters have it) where he's fully naked. It's pretty funny

I've already broken a bunch of rules, mwahaha!

The list of achievements this season is interesting 👀 There's an achievement for getting eliminated, which I will definitely be trying to do. And stuff about the others trusting us (probably a way to earn back money)

They still have the "beach hut" confessionals, but I feel like those episodes are shorter, which is great because they could be a drag on replays before, or when you just want to get to the next episode

Santiago is my boy, I'm loving the representation with him. I'm curious if we'll ever get a chance to get our hands on him even without romance, because we do have a flirty vibe and I would absolutely jump at that chance!

Overall, I'm excited to see how this goes! It does seem like they've taken our feedback so far, the initial episodes felt a lot like last season but that's not at all a bad thing - last season started off great, and this one has too. I do think this season has better potential overall and my fingers are crossed that it delivers

It's time for me to answer your questions about this Hyacinthus iceberg meme. There is a lot to tackle, so I'll divide it into 5 parts for the sake of my sanity.

Quick disclaimer: I am NOT an expert in Greek mythology, just a fan of Hyacinthus who wants to learn about him and anyone related to him. Most of the things I'm about to discuss are just theories and speculations of a passerby on the Internet, so do not take them as valid facts!

Daphne is Hyacinthus' sister

There is only one poet who wrote about Daphne being Hyacinthus' sister. Well, it's not explicitly stated but he claimed Daphne was a daughter of King Amyclas and lived in Laconia, so it's not hard to piece it all together.

"This is how the story of Daphne, the daughter of Amyklas (Amyclas), is related. [...] But she got together a large pack of hounds and used to hunt either in Lakonia (Laconia) or sometimes going into the further mountains of the Peloponnese." - Parthenius, "Love Romances"

I have a joke headcanon that Apollo loves Hyacinthus because he looks like Daphne (Hya's sister) and Hyacinthus loves Apollo because he looks like Thamyris (Apollo's grandson).

Some K-drama angsty level of romance, eh?

The accurate hyacinth flower???

This has been a debate for quite a while now. Is the flower born from Hyacinthus' death the modern hyacinth or a different flower?

Even though most of us settle for the widely-known purple hyacinth (the flowers above), many argue that the flower can also be a larkspur, an iris, or a martagon lily.

I admit I prefer Hyacinthus' flower being the purple hyacinth or at least a similar ancestor. It's because Athena used to give Odysseus a curly hairstyle like the hyacinths, and that description is similar to the modern flower.

[...] Athena poured beauty on [Odysseus]— her abundance made him taller and more robust to look at. Then, on his head, she transformed his hair, so it flowed in curls like fresh hyacinths in bloom. - Homer, "The Odyssey"

Here is a detail that got me pondering.

In the "Abduction of Persephone" myth, when Persephone is returned to Demeter, she tells her mother about the abduction and we have this:

"[...] we were playing and gathering sweet flowers in our hands, soft crocuses mingled with irises and hyacinths, and rose-blooms and lilies, marvelous to see, and the narcissus which the wide earth caused to grow yellow as a crocus." - Homeric Hymn 2 to Demeter

So Persephone is collecting flowers when she is taken, and one of those flowers is the hyacinth. It's unexpected to think Apollo and Hyacinthus got together before the seasons were a thing.

Zephyrus wears hyacinths on his flower wreath

There is one account I can find that talks about this detail.

"You can see [Zephyrus], I think, with his winged temples and his delicate form; and he wears a crown of all kinds of flowers, and will soon weave the hyacinth in among them." - Philostratus the Elder, "Imagines"

It might be a simple thing, but it had me thinking. Does Zephyrus wear hyacinths in his flower crown as a reminder of his former lover (like Apollo wears laurels from Daphne's tree)? Is it out of the guilt he has later or a sadistic triumph?

We'll never know.

Chloris creates the hyacinth flowers

For those who don't know, Chloris is the goddess of flowers and the wife of Zephyrus.

We all agree that Apollo created the hyacinth flower in the memories of Hyacinthus, but Ovid claimed Chloris (or Flora, her Roman counterpart) to be the creator.

"I (Flora) first made a flower from Therapnean blood [Hyacinthus the larkspur flower], and its petal still inscribes the lament. You too, narcissus, have a name in tended gardens, unhappy in your undivided self. Why mention Crocus, Attis, or Cinyras' son, from whose wounds I made a tribute soar?" - Ovid, "Fasti"

I don't like this version not because it's a Roman source, but because having Flora/Chloris creating the flower will reduce the heart-wrenching of Apollo and Hyacinthus' myth. Apollo lost his beloved to the hands of death, so having him make the flower as a tribute to their love and to always remember him will have a bigger impact.

Apollo is Hyacinthus' uncle/granduncle/great-grandfather

Look, almost all Greek mythology couples are related in some way. Apollo and Hyacinthus are no exception.

If we have Amyclas and Diomede as Hyacinthus' parents, Apollo will be Hyacinthus' granduncle on his father's side and great-grandfather on his mother's side.

Lacedaemon (Hyacinthus' grandfather) is a son of Zeus and Taygete.

"[Eurotas] left the kingdom to Lacedaemon, whose mother was Taygete, after whom the mountain was named, while according to report his father was none other than Zeus." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

Lapithes is a son of Apollo and the father of Diomede.

"Lapithes, the son of Apollon and Stilbe, the daughter of Peneus." - Diodorus Siculus, "Library of History"

"Amyclas and Lapithes' daughter Diomede had Cynortas and Hyacinthus." - Pseudo-Apollodorus, "Bibliotheca"

If we have Clio as Hyacinthus' mother, Apollo will be his half-uncle because the Muses are the daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the Titan goddess of memory.

I guess the only way to remove incest from Apollo and Hyacinthus is to have Clio as his mother but use the version where the Muses sprang into life from four rivers made by Pegasus.

Hyacinthus is the relative/ancestor of other heroes (Perseus, Heracles, Helen, etc.)

I used to make a family tree for ten generations of the mythical Spartan family (and an additional one for Perseus and Danae).

And since Perseus is the great-grandfather of Heracles, this means Hyacinthus is an ancestor of Heracles as well.

Here are some sources to back me up:

"[...] Lelex, an aboriginal was the first king in this land, after whom his subjects were named Leleges. Lelex had a son Myles, and a younger one Polycaon. [...] On the death of Myles his son Eurotas succeeded to the throne.." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

Apollo and Hyacinthus in the Trojan War???

Oh boy. This is the part many of you are screaming for me to explain.

I'll have to disappoint you because there aren't many texts about Apollo/Hyacinthus in the Epic Cycle (at least, I can't find all of them yet). But if we bust our brains, we can draw out some shower thoughts.

1) Was Hyacinthus alive by the time of the Trojan War, and did he participate?

The timeline is shaky and depends on which source you're looking at. Euripides' play "Helen" mentions the Hyacinthia festival, meaning our prince was born, died, and immortalized before the Trojan War.

"They will be gathered in a dance, at long last, or in games, or in all night feasts, in honor of Hyacinth, whom Phoebus Apollo killed during a discus throwing contest." - Euripides, "Helen"

On the other hand, Lucian's "Dialogues of the Dead" said that Hyacinthus was still in the Underworld after the Trojan War.

"Menippos: Where are all the beauties, Hermes? Show me around, I am a newcomer. Hermes : I am busy, Menippos. But look over there, to your right, and you will see Hyacinthus, Narcissus, Nireus, Achilles, Tyro, Helene, Leda - all the beauties of old." - Lucian, "Dialogues of the Dead"

From Lucian's work, either Hyacinthus will be resurrected much later after the war or never at all.

If we go by the version that Hyacinthus was deified before the war, I'm sure he will side with his homeland. Hyacinthus is a favorite hero-god of Sparta and great-granduncle to Helen, so there is no reason he won't participate in the war.

That leads us to the next point:

2) Can you imagine the angst potential for Hyapollo???

National pride is a big thing for Spartans. You know how Spartans mock other city-states and uphold their people. Hyacinthus must feel utterly betrayed when Apollo is revealed to be siding with the people who stole from his homeland. He loves the god, but he loves his homeland more.

However, unlike the previous point where there are sources to draw from, we got zero records of how Apollo and Hyacinthus interacted during the war. So it has to be up to our imagination.

When Apollo sent a plague on the Greeks, did he purposefully spare the Spartans because of Hyacinthus? Did Hyacinthus tell his men to not kill the children, lovers, or favored mortals of Apollo?

Did they avoid each other when the Olympian civil conflict broke out? Did they even talk to each other at all?

And most importantly, how would they heal after the Trojan War?

3) Do the Spartans celebrate the Hyacinthia in Troy?

Now, this one is funny. The Spartans worshipped Apollo and Hyacinthus together, yet Apollo is now the enemy of Sparta.

In history, Spartans did form truces and leave the battlefields to attend the Hyacinthia festival.

"Now the Lakedaimonians (Lacedaemonians), as the festival of Hyakinthos was approaching, made a truce of forty days with the men of Eira [in Messenia]. They themselves returned home to keep the feast." - Pausanias, "Description of Greece"

But this isn't the case in the Trojan War. No sources say the Spartans desert the battlefield in Troy to go home for the festival (makes sense because they have to travel across the sea, and their queen is still trapped in Troy)

So the question is: how do they celebrate them in Troy instead? Do they even celebrate the Hyacinthia when one of the honored gods is siding against them?

I'm not gonna lie, I 100% wanted someone to send me this ask about Beckett! Sorry it took a little bit to answer, I'm on vacation so I've been occupied. But here we go!

1. I like this character because she's not perfect. She has flaws, but she still always tries to do the right thing. She's badass. She's strong. She's independent. She's incredibly well written because real people aren't perfect. There are qualities she has that I share. There are qualities she has that I admire and strive to emulate. And... not gonna lie...Stana's portrayal I'm sure has something to do with it as well.

2. Fav canon thing... um...I love that she was a fan of Castle's before they began working together. I also love that she was the youngest woman in the history of the NYPD to make detective. I also love her motorcycle though we never really saw her ride.

3. Least fav canon thing... that she felt she had to try to be separated from Castle in Season 8 to protect him... also she's not great at communication in relationships, like with Castle. Use your words!

4. Any other media... not gonna lie, I would LOVE a SVU/Castle crossover where Beckett and Benson shared time together, either with Benson as her captain, or as the two captains dealing with the men in their lives or their precincts.

5. First song that comes to mind...Superman by 3 Doors Down

6. Something Beckett and I have in common... we both suck at talking about our feelings.

7. Something the fandom does that I like... use her hairstyle to tell the season and sometimes the episode... does that count? This one was hard, lol

8. Something the fandom does that I despise... say her eyes are green in fics. Also there is a fair amount of Beckett hate inside the Castle fandom...I don't understand it.

9. Beckett and I would probably be okay roommates. I keep to myself the way she does. I'm slightly more messy I think than she'd probably like, but we'd most likely get along ok.

10. I could totally be best friends with Kate Beckett! Similar personalities... similar likes...we'd get along great.

11. Um...no. If I'm dating anyone from the world of Castle, it's Castle himself.

12. Headcanon I have...She made her Detective rank in vice. I'm reasonably sure this was never stated in the show, but it's just a strong feeling I have. She's too good at certain aspects of her job to not have come up through the ranks in vice before she became a homicide detective. Also that she was a chronic dater before Castle came along.

13. Emoji... nothing reminds me of her, but if I had to pick one she probably uses a lot, it would be the facepalm because... well... she did marry Castle. And I feel he requires that one a lot.

14. Fashion aesthetic... leather jackets

15. Favorite ship... uh, Caskett, duh!

16. Least fav ship...Josh. Definitely Josh. He was a serious problem who hung around way too long. And I KNOW Marlowe kept him around solely as the reason Castle and Beckett didn't hook up at the end of season 3 in episodes like LA

17. Ship that I don't hate but am fine with...um, there isn't one. She's Castle's girl. I don't like her with anyone else... I'm not fine with her with anyone else.

18. Canon relationship I admire with another character...I love her relationship with Martha. I also love her relationship with Espo, especially in episodes like Kill Shot. And I LOVE Lanie and Kate screentime!

19. Relationship from Canon that I don't like... I don't know that there is one outside of the guys she dated. Not a fan of her dealings with Sorenson, Demming or Josh, but I feel that's pretty standard.

20. Ideal best friend... Lanie is a pretty great girl best friend. Castle is a pretty great guy best friend... which is good considering they got married.

21. Fav thing to do when writing for Beckett is angst. I can't help it...Stana was SO great with those heavy emotional scenes on the show, I love worrying then with her in my head! Something I don't like writing for her is actual police work. I HATE it so much. Also, the few times I've had to write her with Josh drive me crazy too.

22. Something I like in fics when it comes to Beckett is having her call Castle "Rick" sparingly. He calls her Kate way more than she calls him Rick... it should start like that in fics. Something I don't like... and I touched on it earlier... is when writers say she has green eyes. Her eyes are not green. Also, when writers have her just stay crying over everything... Kate is not a random emotional crier. You have to do a lot to get her to re m that point... she's not going to cry over an argument or something small.

23. Fav pic... oh no. No way can I narrow this down.

24. I'm not sure there is another character from another fandom that reminds me of Beckett. She's pretty one of a kind. She's definitely one of the best written characters in TV history, and she towers over everyone else in my list of favorite characters because she's so unique.

25. My first impression of this character was that she has great hair, awesome leather jackets that I want, and that she's a badass hero who at times I see a lot of myself in. Also that she's a fighter. Now after watching the show beginning to end, my impression was pretty spot on. Though I would add I discovered her softer side (I initially saw the show before they got together, so before the Kate side of her personality was really fleshed out). And she's stronger than I initially realized.

Can't stop thinking about Grease: ROTPL as always and I need to talk about it (again, I know) so here are my predictions I guess. SPOILERS!! PART 2

These are my predictions from trailers and pictures so I'm so excited to discover everything!!!

So let's talk about Cynthia and Shy Guy. I've seen videos of Ari with shorter hair and I've seen them with that haircut wearing the pink jacket AND a black jacket. I know, I've talked about Cynthia a few times already and I need y'all to know that I'm still happily confused and I'm gonna say what I've already said. Again. When Cynthia says the pledge at the fair, she still has her hairstyle of the season, so I don't think that she will say the pledge and then leave the Pink Ladies.

That's why I think that this scene is from ep 10. Don't know how it's gonna happen but it looks like Cynthia is gonna get Richie's jacket. I'm sorry but it's definitely his... And remember the first episode when he says to her "I'll give you mine", yeah, that screams foreshadowing!! Honestly, I hate it even if I get it, I hate it, I'm not going to lie. I need Richie to be a T-Bird forever and to stay the leader of the pack so bad. Maybe I'm wrong but like I said, it is HIS JACKET. But the thing is that I don't know if she's gonna stay a T-Bird. Now, Shy Guy. Aww, baby boy, I know they call him Shy Guy for a reason but I hope that we'll get to see more of him in the next 4 episodes and I feel like this scene is gonna be big and maybe will turn into a song? They will probably talk about his feelings for Cynthia and maybe more.

The Sideburns Scheme Post #1 v2

Take it all in.

Treasure it for all that it is.

Because you will never see this hairstyle this clearly on Crowley ever again, not even from different angles...unless there's a treat waiting for us in season 3. But otherwise, no, that's all we get of this gorgeous, gorgeous shot.

The below post is edited as of 12/11/2023.

What do we learn about the sideburns?

We can't see if both sideburns are short, just that the right one is longer than it was in season 1 (including flashbacks in season 1). My latest findings as I edit this post suggest that space occupied over time by Crowley impacts the length of his sideburns, most especially in a home base environment, namely his car and the bookshop.

I think this sideburn is longer than when Crowley later enters the coffee shop though it is very hard to tell. Pretend I'm right for this bit.

The park is not a home base environment, but Crowley has taken certain steps that have allowed the space to become more his own.

He is sitting still for some unknown amount of time. That might matter because he is also standing still at the end of season 2. While I still think this action helps make the space more his own, I have come to the conclusion it is also helping Crowley be seen or sensed.

He is holding a newspaper. That newspaper is like his threshold in this smaller designated space for himself. It is also an earthly object.

Two characters are going to show up, at different times, and there will be no interaction from him to them until he has deliberately pulled the newspaper down from his face. That is to say, he passes through his designated threshold to talk to them.

Is the brighter red streak visible?

Not exactly. I can tell you where it should be, and that I've added arrows where it could be. From a front view, it is usually above the center of his left eye but not always.

My personal guess is between one of the two arrows on the right.

Is the hairstyle different from the present day Crowley scene before it?

We currently do not have a point of reference but after studying numerous scenes, I can tell you the answer is almost always yes. The style changes even during scenes. The style when Crowley pulls down the newspaper for the first time is actually something like in between the first shot we see and then another shot after it. You probably won't catch that if you aren't trying.

Here's one a couple of extra ones that look more similar, possibly even the same between each other:

Far more subtle, and admittedly iffy, I could just be seeing what I want to see, but to me, it looks like the initial right profile shot has a more obvious gradient. The hair towards the bottom matches his season 1 color better and gets brighter up until the top. The after-pushing-newspaper-down style has a gradient, but there is even less of the season 1 color on the bottom area, as if the hair itself is transforming into its new season 2 state. Here's a comparison view if you wish to decide for yourself:

If it's not that, it might actually be that Crowley's hair gets darker because of Shax being a demon in his presence. Closer to his own home, the Bentley, it tends to be darker there too.

So with all of the above in mind, I reached the following conclusions, removing #4. Edit-and now removing #5

(1) Crowley's hair is now a brighter red than season 1, including season 1 present day and season 1 flashbacks.

(2) There is yet an even brighter, more saturated, streak of red hair above his left eye.

(3) His sideburns are longer than they were in season 1. At this point, we have no comparison to season 2, but they are going to get both longer and shorter than what is seen here in this same episode.

(5) His sideburns are short in the presence of a human and then Shax before Gabriel is invited into the bookshop. The Book of Life is also mentioned after this scene, but we're going to see a lot more sideburns correlation with Gabriel than the Book of Life.

(6) In this scene, the hair is lighter and more saturated on his left side; it is darker on his right side. For episode 1 at least, in my latest notes, that is standard for most of it.

(7) I can't tell you what the top style is telling us about Crowley's mood, but it does seem to do that, at least sometimes. It can be fun to try and guess.

(8) The left sideburn does not have as much hair as the right sideburn. Just as the color of the hair is lighter on the left, it seems the left sideburn is supposed to be "lighter" than the right. My latest research suggests this is actually standard across the season if one takes the time to compare.

Additional Notes before I get to the upcoming stuff:

The cut between Crowley holding the newspaper in profile view and pushing it down has him holding the newspaper differently with his fingers. This could be a suspicious chronology edit or it could be Crowley testing/managing the bounds of his created space.

When Crowley leaves, he will pass by Shax with him in the background. He is blurred, and there's something gold around where he's holding the newspaper, that is presumably his bills. After he passes Shax, you can't see the presumed bills anymore. Due to the angle? In this story, I'm skeptical, but yeah, could be. Crowley's going to be conveniently obscured many times throughout the season.

This scene also does something that the entire season is going to do but is way, way more overt about it if you watch any right profile shot of Crowley.

Most of the blocking is going to have a character speaking in a shot alone or with a blurred version of who they are talking to from an over-the-shoulder or such type view. You will usually not see both characters on screen and sometimes even if you do, there will be intentional blurs, so both characters cannot share focus.

Most likely, this is to help us understand that this story is EDITED. It involves memories, and memories can get blurry, so I'm guessing that's another reason. Who edited the story and why? So far, I'm strongly of the belief that it's at least Crowley and Aziraphale but cannot figure out if the Metatron and anyone else is doing it too. I started to figure this out through finding possible deliberation between Aziraphale and Crowley regarding this sideburns thing. You have to look quite hard to pick up on the clues though. They are trying to not look as deliberate as they are.

Due to my mistake on the different styles, I am going to admit up front, there is no way I'll be able to catch every hairstyle. Scenes are cut in deliberately deceptive ways to make it hard to tell when you've shifted over.

Writing an introduction for this project was a big, giant mess, so we're just diving right in before I lose interest. An introduction might come later, if I stay committed and get to do what I want to do with this idea.

As a black Person Growing Up Myself, It has been a beautiful journey road being a proud African American man coming out as genderqueer, I always Found Comfort & love In My own Skin & even my Hair of all textures, first time I saw the ever Strong lightning goddess storm in the xmen series on fox kids made a great impact in my life in the early days of the 80s & 90s along other favorite shows back then however,

POC representation in the Future of Anime & western animation even in today's media has been distorted Or even limited on how we as black people are drawn. from caricatures To Stereotypes, or to follow a certain trend to make a profit from viewers & fans be it from influencers & popular media or just to be made Fun Of & Mocked, do to make a profit out of our black origins & History.

Example black character such as Usopp One piece.

however there have been great anime that have made our features positive one is Sol Bianca and others

Pokemon, Michiko Hatchin, Naruto & Carole And Tuesday.

Just like In Real Life, We As black people come in so many textures and beautiful complexions as you see in all of animation, & black-owned magazines, such as essence and this one Called Jet in the 1920s through Now celebrating our great culture.

We As Blerds, Black Fans & Cosplayers should have good content in which we can express, & be uplifted by our skin Personality & meaning itself, No matter what background or environment to which we dress, or cosplay a character that's out of our skin tone.

we come so far to the point where we have great indie creators, cosplayers even compays from hair products blogs Manga & comic books.

I'm glad that we are coming into our own and doing better but there's still work to be done, on how Hollywood treats us, and until we see the next all-black piece of media that's when we make it

The Hair Style Topic, oh yes its no big surprise that hair controversy within media has sparked in outrage,or made in impact throughout, be it in and out of workplaces or in the entertainment industry, I do feel at times things could've been handled with care.

From what I've seen we have gotten 2 steps forward, 4 steps back situation of all the controversies coming from the killmonger haircut that's been sported, which is a limited stifled hairdo on how we are only presented and how our hair can be made into cause it's a following trend, Because this is not the only distinct hairsyle to have Iin animated media, A Half Cut Mop will Not do So Put some Soul Glo & Let It Grow.

NOW you may wonder why i decided to put this post of a Disney main character of afro Latina background, well Luz Noceda I feel has great growth coming out to her friends and chosen family, however doesn't change the fact they didn't do anything for her to show ethnic representation other than speak Spanish, Having to show that aggressive Spicy latina Archetype to a Degree, & have a black father mention in season 2, having given no origin story or closure.

throughout the show this showed has shown great lgbt representation even though at times flawed, in the relationship area. ( another topic for a video COmING SOON) however the owl house has fall flat on ethnic & hair representation, Gus is a great example of a character being sidelined a lot too.

for instance luz noceda has been stifled into nothing but that pokemon goh knockoff haircut,

even though there may have been open-minded viewers,who agree on luz hair being styled effectively, making many statements that hair shows so many emotions in animation, Down below

That all hair on poc characters is a good is how you pull it off, in the picture below there tons of great characters in many hairdos complementing them.

sometimes i wish luz character could have handled by poc staff, and have her own break out like the rest of the female characters, cause I kid you not, I met a lot of non-gender-conforming characters or people, who sport many hair designs. It infuriates me such a beautiful person Luz Batista find out the pilot that her character was somewhat sidelined due to the writing Problems & Shipping and I'm baffled how of course white staff members didn't do their research on Afro Latina her cause Luz is beautiful

Knowing other shows such as Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Do an incredible job of Discussing on how black hair is powerful, magical & comes in many shapes and intricate designs if you know what your doing and I for one have a graceful mother who a beautician coming from her,

We are in an era where black people shouldn't exist or we arent amount to anything and I too had my fair share of my hair being talked about in a nasty way,

(Rough) Script of Migi & Dali Sequel Manga

Harta, the magazine that serialized Migi & Dali, released in its 110th issue (Dec 2023) a short booklet containing some artwork from Migi & Dali as well as a short 4-page sequel manga that takes place after the final chapter of the manga or final episode of the anime.

I won't be putting up the manga in this post, but if you look hard enough I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere. It was a fun read, and here I'll put a translated script of what happens and what is said, which includes some of my own observations and notes.

Of course, *spoiler warning* below.

PAGE 1

Migi is at his desk writing a letter to Dali, and is struggling as he has already trashed several drafts. He has the same haircut at the end of the story and is wearing a hoodie. Also, some of his artwork is on display. The window is open, and it is a bit windy, and leaves can be seen falling. It's likely that this manga takes place during the fall/autumn.

First letter: To Dali: Dear Dali, How are you doing in this season when potatoes are delicious? (*Note: This might be a mistranslation as Migi likely introduced grammatical errors. Regardless, this can be roughly interpreted as a "How are you doing?" to Dali. The potato remark is consistent with the earlier observation that the manga takes place during autumn.)

Second letter: To the arrogant jerk: Hey! Why haven't you written to me in half a year!? (*Note: This manga likely takes place roughly six months after Dali left in March 1993, which is consistent with the earlier observation that it takes place in autumn.)

Third letter(?): I'm lonely. (*Note: He writes "さびしい" or "sabishii" which could be interpreted as "I miss you" or "I'm lonely because you're not here." It's pretty sweet that despite being confident that their hearts were always connected, Migi still wants to see Dali and misses him, even though Migi was the one who stayed behind with his friends and family. I guess Dali was more confident than Migi about the claim they've made.)

Migi is visibly frustrated with his tongue out, leaning back while ripping up the letter. Migi: "Agh I can't get it out!!" (*Note: It's funny how surprisingly shy Migi is when it comes to just writing a letter to his brother)

Migi notices something. Migi: "Huh?"

Sardine is at the door. Migi: "What is it Beast? There aren't any sardines here."

Migi has an idea. Migi: "Ah."

Cuts to Dali's dormitory. His roommate(?) comes in with a letter in his hand. Dali is reading a book which seems to be titled "ふたりの証拠" (roughly translated as "The Proof of Two People") Roommate: "Dali, there's a letter for you." Dali: "!"

Dali has the letter in his hand. Dali has the same hairstyle at the end of the story and is wearing glasses and his school uniform. Dali: "Huh?"

The envelope says: "From: Golden Beast"

Dali reads the letter with a warm smile on his face, knowing it's from Migi and is able to read Migi's feelings through this coded language. The letter says: Dear sir: It's the season for delicious sardines right now! That's right, it's me, Sardine! Are you doing well? My hair is still soft and fluffy! Well, now that you're gone, the house is a bit emptier now… (*Note: There is a wet spot and is labeled by Migi as dog drool. I wonder if it's actually dog drool.)

Cuts back to the Sonoyama house. The phone rings. Youko: "Hello?"

Youko answers the phone. Youko: "Oh, Dali!? How have you been!? Uh huh… uh huh. How about I put Migi on the phone for now… huh?"

Youko looks surprised. Youko: "You want to talk to Sardine!?"

Youko puts the phone over Sardine. Dali: "How have you been, Beast?" (*Note: It's funny and heartwarming to see Dali indulging Migi's silliness by playing along with his Sardine act)

Migi suddenly appears, kneeling and with his hand over Sardine's mouth, and pretends to be Sardine. He is now wearing a sweater and has a playful look on his face. Migi: "Woof!" (*My interpretation: "Great!")

Dali responds. Dali: "I see, I see. You aren't causing any trouble for Mom and Dad, are you?" (*Note: it's heartwarming to see Dali acknowledge the Sonoyamas as his parents)

Migi answers, with another playful look on his face. Migi: "Ahnn!" (*My interpretation: "No!")

Dali answers, and Migi continues to answer like a dog. Dali: "I see, I see." Migi: *More dog noises and panting* (*Note: I have no idea how to interpret this. I guess Migi's conveying his joy and excitement at talking to Dali)

Dali, who clearly knows he's talking to Migi, reciprocates Migi's feelings by saying that he misses Migi too. Migi is surprised, and his eyes are wide open. Dali: "I miss you too, Migi." (*Note: He uses "会いたい" which can be translated to, "I REALLY miss you" or "I want to meet/see you." Given his use of "too," Dali knows that the feeling is mutual. Migi seems to be surprised that Dali not only has completely read his feelings but also stated his own feelings directly over the phone. This isn't surprising to me since Dali was always perceptive, especially to Migi, and this shows that Dali has always been and still is the big bro)

The whole Sonoyama family is here, including Osamu and Fidelite. Osamu smiles and Youko chuckles, while Migi is frozen, visibly flustered and blushing. Sardine: "Woof!" (*Note: It's pretty cute that Migi gets bashful when it comes to his brother, like he was with Sali. This goes to show that Migi has always been and still is the little bro.)

Final thoughts: It was very heartwarming to see that even though the twins were confident that they would remain connected even when apart, they still craved interaction and company from each other, which shows that their love hasn't waned one bit.

It was interesting to see the differences in how the twins conveyed their feelings, and it really highlights the older/younger brother dynamic. Migi is the first to convey these emotions, albeit in a bit of an awkward and indirect way by pretending to be Sardine. He also chose a letter maybe because he felt a bit insecure or awkward about saying "I miss you" to Dali and perhaps was afraid of being seen as a baby. Meanwhile, Dali is more reserved but clearly feels the same way as Migi given his reaction to the letter, and is able to return these feelings directly to him via phone. Unlike Migi, Dali has no fear or shame whatsoever and is far more confident in conveying his feelings to him.

Hopefully, Dali will actually come home sometime, maybe during Christmas for example. That'd be something that I would love to see written, drawn, and/or animated.

I recently bought an Imomo doll Miko! If everything goes according to plan, I plan on making her into a mini Frieren! I think her serene or somber sculpt, with a rounder face, will lend well for Frieren. I really like the Volks Dollfie for Frieren, but I think a rounder face would have made her a little bit more on-model, annnnd... well, Miko was about $100 shipped, which is quite a bit cheaper than the Volks Frieren price tag, ahaha. :'D

I've read that vinyl Imomo doll bodies can be kind of floppy, so I am prepared to stabilize her with teflon tape, wire, and even hot glue if needed. If I like her well enough, I am planning on ordering an Apsu. More anime-elf doll talk below the cut, ahaha.

I think Apsu would lend well to be a mini Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon)'s Marcille!

I think if Volks was to do a Dungeon Meshi collab I probably wouldn't be able to resist getting an official Marcille doll, but at least they would be in different scales and probably have different hairstyles anyways!

Assuming I really like the Imomo dolls to justify getting a third 1/4 scale girl, I think I might get a Mie to shell Elf (or Sui) from Ojisan Isekai/Uncle from Another World.

I think Mie looks a lot like Miko - I think the biggest difference might be in her ears? - but I think Sui's design looks distinct enough from Frieren that it won't be a problem.

I love Uncle from Another World but I find it highly unlikely that there will be much in regards to new merch for the show (especially since season 1 has caught up to the manga already...) and getting a Sui dollfie would probably be highly unprobeable (lol), but I look forward to getting a little Sui. :)

Until I started thinking about which doll would suit which character, though, I hadn't noticed all three girls have green eyes. I think I've found reasonable eyes for all three on etsy already, so now I'm just on the hunt for a wig and stockings for Frieren. All of them will be getting removable elf ears but I am not sure if the 1/3 DD scale ears by GoldDin (recommended for their head size) would be too big for my tastes.

I think it looks really good on @catfishy2u's custom MDD Frieren, though! So I am probably over thinking it, ahaha, since I tend to veer towards smaller elf ears for my bjds... so I think that's messing with my perception a little bit. I did buy some elf ears secondhand for dollfie by B. A. F. Studio (unsure where they sell their products but I think they're Japanese) potentially for Marcille or a future dollfie.

I'll be testing the fit on Miko when both parts get here. Supposedly Miko will be here tomorrow, but I think Tuesday/Wednesday is more likely, but we will see! Although, seeing all three girls together, I think maybe the BAF ears would be better for Sui - Marcille's ears seem to be bigger like Frieren's in comparison. We shall see!

Latest book purchases

Got some new books for Christmas and apparently I never wrote about the ones I got last summer, so let's start with them.

The first is just the guidebook for TropiRouge, which I mostly got just to accompany the other one because I didn't want to pay for shipping for just one item (ISBN: 9784056116632).

It's similar to the other Precure guidebooks in that only about a third is of interest to me (the outfit displays) and the rest is stuff like episode summaries and interviews, which I'm not good enough at Japanese to read.

The second book is an outfit design book from one of my favourite authors (ISBN: 9784768316726), and it presents maid, nurse, school uniform, idol and China dress outfits each in "cute", "cool" and "märchen" (which is essentially "extra cute") styles. First there's the basic version, and then variations for the three categories, above is some basic maid designs and below is the märchen version.

And then there's some detail options for each outfit.

I also got some magnetic paper dolls for DeliParty, I don't really know what happened there since I don't really even like that season (ISBN: 9784065266946). I guess my cousin's kid got something out of them when she last visited?

Then the three Christmas books:

The first one is a design book for more outlandish designs (ISBN: 9784835456539). I like that this has more bizarre ideas, like usually the hairstyle section is just "how about a ponytail? or a bob cut?" but here it's heart-shaped braids and rainbow highlights.

It also ends with a section of more normal outfit options too that can be used as a base to modify for something weirder.

This book has one notable downside though and it's that some of the unclothed models are drawn in a bit too much detail. We're talking about very tiny lines here but why did they have to add those?? Thankfully it's only an issue on a few pages but uggh it is cringe.

The second one is a fantasy design book similar to this one (ISBN: 9784837310013). It begins with the introduction of basic character archtypes, in case you need to know what an isekai swordsman looks like. This section is boring but luckily it's very short.

Then the rest of the book is just variations of the base designs. Healer with a knitting motif! Swordsman with a Little Red Riding Hood motif! Gunner with a popcorn motif!

The book does have male designs too (maybe 1/3 or 1/4) but somehow my examples ended up being of more mahou-like characters, who knew.

The third book is about modern outfits based on traditional Japanese clothes (ISBN: 9784046051363). Like this S-rank look here!

It also has some male outfits which is nice, since usually modern male clothing designs in books like these tend to be on the more boring side (if they exist at all).

The book starts with a section on various outfits for the four seasons, and after that there's Japanese style female school uniforms, both sailor and blazer style.

Last there's a section on designs based on stuff like fairy tales and fruit, which was of course my favourite, here's Little Red Riding Hood and the Little Mermaid. I would have liked for this section to be longer!

Now that I think of it, many of my books have a design based on Little Red Riding Hood, I should probably make a compilation of them some day.

[Rant] Ladybug's Suit

WARNING: This post contains profanity and a brutally honest opinion.

As a fan of magical girl series, I'm disappointed in Ladybug's bodysuit. Why?! The bodysuit is an awful outfit! For a couple of reasons. One, it's [bleep] hideous! I hate it so much! I want to rip it off her! Like, why does she have to wear THAT atrocious onesie?! It's all red with black spots all over. It's an eyesore! A [bleep] eyesore! For real, it's an eyesore because there is very little black to break up the red. Have the character designers and animato

When Marinette transforms into Ladybug, she wears the worst ever bodysuit among the teen-aged heroes, it made me change my mind on two particular outfits. My opinion on what Yumi and Aelita had in season 4 of Code Lyoko shifted from a negative one to a more positive one. I no longer look at their virtual spandex as bad outfits, as it made sense for them to have tighter fitting attire. Though, I also like their initial virtual attire too. Their bodysuits from season 4 of Code Lyoko had more effort put into them! At least those bodysuits look good! Not gonna lie, Yumi actually looks hot and sexy in her spandex. Meanwhile, Ladybug does not!

This is what I'm talking about! Ladybug's bodysuit in the image above is so bland! It makes for a childish superhero outfit and an even WORSE magical girl outfit!! Considering Sailor Moon was one of the many magical girl series that influenced Miraculous, you'd think Ladybug would wear a practical suit to fight evilized villains with. By practical, I mean a super suit with padding and armor. But, alas, she does not! Heck, girl doesn't wear boots either. Yes, Ladybug doesn't wear a [bleeping] pair of boots. Sailor Moon at least had protective padding in both her base and Super forms plus boots.

For this reason, I drew redesigns of her outfit so she wouldn't wear a literal onesie! And isn't it Marinette's dream job is to be a fashion designer?! So surely, she'd have her sketchbook filled out with alternate outfits for her heroic alter ego.

Furthermore, Miraculous also does a terrible job with how Marinette has her keep the same hairstyle after transforming into Ladybug. Her hair is just a brighter and deeper shade of blue. It feels like Sailor Moon all over again.

The grade I'd her bodysuit is a D-. As a superhero outfit, it gets a C-. As a magical girl outfit, it gets a big, fat, F---!

SHE DESERVES A MUCH BETTER COSTUME!!!

Triangle, my beloved

This drama was a DUMPSTER FIRE that, in my opinion, crossed the line between just awful into some secret tier of amazing. It's the Sharknado of Kdramas. I have to tell you about this show.

First, the premise was amazing. A better writer could've made it the buzziest show of its season. You see glimmers of greatness all through it. However...

The story was NOT written in advance. It was written episode by episode according to input from online fans. And BOY, the results were INSANE. He loves her! He hates her! We need a love triangle! We're going to forget it happened! We can't figure out how to get him out of jail...so the next episode opens with a 2-year time skip and we move on!!

It was COMPLETELY unpredictable, with flat out continuity errors--I'm talking day/night errors, totally forgetting where characters were, cutting to people in the wrong places, people getting stabbed and left for dead and walking around the next day, the whole shebang. One character even completely forgot that he had very emotionally beaten another unconscious and been charged with "finishing him off" in front of a ring of watching gangsters that afternoon--IT CUT TO HIM STANDING IN HIS KITCHEN PEACEFULLY MAKING DINNER AT NIGHT IN DIFFERENT CLOTHES AND THE OTHER GUY WAS INEXPLICABLY FINE!

At that point, to me, it veered completely into comedy and I couldn't stop watching. The characters were a special highlight to me. Have you ever wanted to see a gangster played by Kim Jaejoong whose lipstick occasionally and unevenly turns distractingly pink or orange in-between takes? Now's your chance.

For Im Siwan's character in particular, it seems they were trying to go for a nuanced villain/anti-hero, but couldn't figure out what they wanted and so swung WILDLY between wanting to learn his family's business from the employee-level up, to wanting to escape, to being just some guy, to wanting to return as a mustache-twirling overlord...it was like a parody, and somehow it hit just the right wavelength of being hilarious. He saved it by apparently approaching each episode as a stand-alone concept and putting his whole heart into each week's iteration of the character. It was like, I don't know exactly what this guy is feeling because he's changed his entire motivation and MO like 3 times in 4 episodes, but boy is he feeling something!

(Also, nobody looked ANYTHING like their promo images. Wardrobe, hairstyles all totally different, it was hilarious.)

Towards the end, flashbacks grew longer and longer as the executives apparently quarreled over what material to include. As the actors started to have other encroaching deadlines because they were going over time, they couldn't execute even the plans they wanted, and the ending was completely in the air even as the final episodes were being filmed. Finally, at the end,

A main character died in the first 10 minutes of the finale, from a tiny knife wound and in the arms of a trained emergency responder over an excruciatingly long period of time in which said responder did not do any kind of medical treatment or call an ambulance. Both of the other main characters had taken 5 times the damage of that tiny lil wound and bounced back without a scratch.

(END SPOILER!!!)

I mean for the first three episodes our main man was getting beaten to the point of death, stabbed multiple times and left for dead like every 15 minutes and then walking it off the next day:

so watching this other guy keel over from a tiny little cut was jarring and random to the point that it would've been comedic if all three actors hadn't also been acting with their whole hearts to make you forget the abysmal context and silliness of all that preceded.

Come to find out--that particular decision WAS random!! They had gone so far over time that the actor literally had to fly to France to film another show and so they just killed his character and changed the entire end of the story! Which is honestly just very on-brand for the rest of the show.

If you watch it as each scene by itself, each scene is awesome. If you watch it together? Reverse Gestalt theory!! It's somehow less than the sum of its parts!!! But still? Glorious. Also everyone is gorgeous which is definitely a perk.

To summarize, the process was basically a budgeted improv club on steroids in which everyone did their absolute best to keep pace with the bizarre new twists and act surprised each time the repetitive ones repeated. Vibes: Improv - The Office US - YouTube.

I didn't actually finish it; I think I watched the first 15 minutes of the last episode and then just recapped the end. But honestly? No regrets with the show, it's my favorite worst thing and my go-to for "bad" examples of writing and continuity when I'm tutoring. If you want to see some gorgeous faces and kill brain cells, you must watch Triangle, it's a riot.
