Hug
It's nearly impossible to have a quiet and peaceful day with the crew, like the strawhats. Nami is mostly used to the noise on Going Merry but one day she gets fed up with Zoro and Sanji arguing. Not only are they extremely loud, but they've also already broken way too many things during their fights.
She decides that If they want to act like brats, then she's going to treat them as such. So she makes them apologize and hug each other in silence for an hour. None of them are happy about this punishment, but Nami threatened to raise Zoro's debt, and Sanji couldn't say no to her. It could be worse.
It's awkward enough for them to not incite any fight for a long time and Nami is quite proud of herself. She knows it won't last forever but at least now she knows how to handle them. It inevitably happens again. And again. And again.
Much to her surprise, those fights became more and more frequent. And what's even weirder is that she could see the way both Zoro and Sanji occasionally glanced at her to make sure she was nearby. It's almost as if they wanted someone to make them hug each other. As if they needed an excuse.... these idiots.
Soon, they don't even need Nami's help. When they aren't busy training, cooking or fighting, they cuddle together. Sometimes Luffy or Chopper would join them, but most of the crew knew it was their time.
After two years spent separately, they became extremely clingy. It's no surprise when they start sleeping in the same bed. What is surprising is that despite them behaving like a lovey-dovey couple, those oblivious idiots are STILL unaware of each other's feelings.

Why do you think he fell in love with Lydia? see, it's much stronger than it was for Dolores, I'm not going to ask when because it would be complicated Bj and Lydia have such opposite personalities
Love this question! And to be honest, ever since I watched BJBJ I've been wondering about this. Because, to me, at least when I first watched the movie, I got to the conclusion that he must have fallen in love with her over the years; that he never had any true romantic inclinations towards Lydia in the first movie. So I had to wonder, what changed?
This answer got long... So I'll put a little summary, Tl;Dr answer here: I think there's an in-canon reason he fell for her and a meta reason why Tim Burton and co decided to make Betelgeuse be in love with Lydia in canon. The in-canon reason: Opposites attract. She is exactly his type: a dark, mysterious beauty. Plus her calm demeanor suits his unhinged nature. Their energies play nicely off each other, completing and balancing each other in a way no one else could, whether Lydia realizes it now or not. Lydia also never seemed to mind ugly, scary, dark things, and Betelgeuse is kind of all of that. At some point he grew fond of her and started needing this sweet, dark beauty in his (after)life. The meta reason: Lydia and Betelgeuse are a favorite "Burton Couple", almost right there with Jack and Sally, at least to a LOT of people.
Now to the long answer, because I totally always write a lot (below the read more cut bc this one got pretty long):
I think to properly answer why he fell in love with her, I do need to get into the when. And this is where I might have to put a "trigger warning" just in case, since I will touch upon how he felt towards Lydia in the first movie, when she was a teenager. Anyone uncomfortable with that needs to click away now. We're going to analyze this with the context and nuance of Betelgeuse's backstory. Context and nuance tend to be overlooked a LOT when the purity factions of fandom want to impose moral superiority upon other members of the fandom, so maybe placing the "trigger warning" may not be enough, but, anyway, you've been warned about the topics of this post.
The context and nuance: Betelgeuse, when alive, lived in the time of the bubonic plague, this means he was alive during the 1300s, presumably in Italy. At that time, marrying a 15-16 year old was socially acceptable and normal. Heck, even younger than that (as unacceptable as that seems to us today in our modern times). So it wasn't that strange as it is today. The reason is that people often didn't get to live past 30. The average, oldest age of death around the time was 60 years old. It was also common for men of the time (and where Betelgeuse lived in Italy, and Europe, as I’m reading in these articles) to marry much later than women, as in it was common for men in their 30s and 40s to marry a 14 year old (which I believe is even younger than Lydia was in that movie, not sure). All of that is in that article. That depends entirely on social ranking though; if he was lower class often people married for convenience and I'm not sure but I think age wasn't a factor to consider when people were struggling. In Europe even in the 1800s you'd see age gaps in marriages. //Edit: and America! For some reason my brain when I wrote this at midnight thought Poe was European 💀.// Edgar Allan Poe married a 13 year old when he was 27, for example (which I totally find super weird, personally, but at their time it wasn't a super weird thing as it is today, as far as I've read; it was also normal to marry a cousin around that time in the upper class and upper middle class, or so I've seen). Was Tim Burton aware? Who knows. But at least I'm putting this out there as the context why it isn't weird for Betelgeuse the character to see a teenager as someone of marrying age. We also know he didn't want to marry her in the first movie because he was in love with her; she was a means to an end, more than anything, regardless of any interest he had in her due to her looks etc.
Ok, so now that that's out of the way we can keep talking. Even though I joined the Beetlebabes fandom only after the second movie, and shipping these two characters never once crossed my mind throughout the years of me watching the first movie, after some thought and after rewatching the movie with the knowledge of where the story goes after the events of that movie, I can definitely see that Betelgeuse became interested in Lydia ever since the first movie, and also why he's head over heels for her in the present.
Even though I still think he fell in love over the years after the events of the first movie, I think he became smitten with her since the first movie. Here's why he fell for her: For starters, she is a dark and mysterious beauty, and that seems to be his type (look at Delores, also a dark beauty). We can actually see the moment he first shows interest in her in the first movie, when he saw her while in his snake form. She was the only one he did not hurt. He only stared at her, almost like he was taken aback by her. When Barbara banishes him back to the model, we have that little moment when he mentions he feels the only one he can make a deal with in that house is "Edgar Allan Poe's daughter", meaning Lydia. And we have the little horny joke, so if you wanna throw that one in there as evidence he became interested in her here, then sure you can. As this happens directly after he's seen Lydia face to face... Rember the context above before you want to call him a pdfler or something... please. He is Not.
Then later when she meets him in his real form, she doesn't seem startled or scared that she's in the presence of a demon/ghost. In fact, she just simply asks him "are you a ghost, too?" and that's when he starts making some conversation. He realizes she can see him and communicate with him. You can tell at this point he is intrigued by her. She is the only one he's shown a sort of sensitivity to in the entire movie. He asks her "why?" when she says she wants to go in to the after life (essentially, that she wants to di e). He doesn't try anything naughty with her; instead, next time he sees her when she asks for his help, he proposes the marriage.
Now, at the time I don't think he loved her or even cared much about her; at this time he just wanted out and here was an eligible woman, who was not only beautiful and available, she could also see him and needed his help, which he used as his way to try to get out of the afterlife. I think once they got rid of him, and he realized he could still connect with her over the years, his interest in her grew and he started really growing fond of her until inevitably he fell in love.
Lydia is physically his type, but there's also a calmness to her that plays against his unpredictable, unhinged personality. She's someone who can balance him, and he's someone she could hold on to; there's an energy in him that she can use. Of course Lydia doesn't yet see how she'd be compatible with someone like him, but from an outsider's perspective, they really compliment each other's personalities. She's calm and quiet; he's crazy and loud. She's reserved; he's outgoing. She's a dark cloud; he's high-energy, like sunshine. Etc. Opposites attract. 💚
Now finally, the meta reason: Lydia and Betelgeuse seem to be a favorite "Burton couple" not only to Tim Burton himself (and the cast of the movie themselves!) but also to a great number of people. There's people who grew up watching the Beetlejuice cartoon series and didn't even watch the first movie, who for years had the idea that these two characters actually adore each other. There were people who were going in to watch this movie with that context only. And there were even people who were going to watch the sequel as their introduction to Beetlejuice (like my mom's best friend, for example! She loved the sequel but has NEVER watched the first movie nor the cartoon. She also wanted Betelgeuse and Lydia to end up together after watching this one, by the way). From a meta perspective, Lydia and Betelgeuse are just a fan favorite couple and an inseparable pair. So partly the choice to make it canon that at least he is absolutely in love with her comes from this expectation that many people had for these two characters. It just feels natural; they're just an iconic Burton pair.

I think people who are mad at Fyodor and saying he underestimates Chuuya forget something though - Chuuya's capable of all these impressive physical feats and stuff, but at the end of the day, he's not particularly smart. He's always easily manipulated by Dazai, Ranpo was able to trap him in a book by simply goading him, Mori is able to keep him in line despite Chuuya being way more powerful, etc. Idk I think the fandom put Chuuya on a pedestal for some reason but he has weaknesses too.
"people who say he underestimates Chuuya" as if... I am not one of those people...? I made a whole analysis on this anon??? I'm a bit confused why you sent this to me...
I'm going to assume this was sent in good faith and that you haven't read the light novels, because it becomes very clear from those that Chuuya is actually perfectly intelligent. I'd say probably above average, if I'm being honest - he picks up new skills very quickly with no formal education and he's really quite intuitive. It's just that the poor guy is constantly surrounded by strategic geniuses, and due to his hot-headedness, he comes across as less intelligent by comparison.
Tumblr media
If he's so smart, why then is he always tricked by Dazai? Well, everyone is tricked by Dazai. It's kind of Dazai's whole thing. He runs circles around most people. He pranks and torments Kunikida, Atsushi, Sigma, and the list goes on. This has little bearing on Chuuya's intelligence, and is much more to do with Dazai's intelligence. Besides, this kind of becomes a moot point when their plans are very much a team effort, made and carried out with barely any verbal communication whatsoever. When it's time to get serious, Dazai is far from leading Chuuya - they're in step with each other. Chuuya keeps up with Dazai, and is capable of challenging him. That's why the partnership works.
Why was Ranpo able to trap him in Poe's book? Let's take a step back and think to the build up of that. Firstly, this is during Cannibalism arc, where each side had two days to save the lives of their respective leaders. Chuuya's family is under threat, and so he's already under a lot of stress. Second, Ranpo is well-known for being an intentionally irritating little toad and he knew just what to say to make Chuuya lose it - ordinarily, Chuuya is actually capable of keeping it together, but Dazai makes him angry enough to explode. Finally, I sincerely doubt Chuuya expected to get sucked into a book. There's no way he didn't think the goading was a trap, but really? He couldn't have known that and likely assumed his ability was strong enough to handle anything Ranpo threw at him.
So, there's a weakness of sorts, and it's actually highlighted by Hirotsu in Fifteen. Chuuya tends to jump into things because he expects he will just be able to "handle things", which is a consequence of growing up with a powerful ability. Hirotsu warns that people who overly rely on their abilities end up in trouble. This scene was likely a form of payoff for that warning. Either way, I'd expect he won't make that same mistake twice.
Why is Mori able to keep him in line? He isn't, because he doesn't have to. Chuuya serves under Mori because he sees Mori as the successful leader that he wasn't. To Chuuya, Mori has what he doesn't - he respects him and thinks he can learn from him. Chuuya sees the Sheep's betrayal as his own personal failure as their leader. This has nothing to do with intelligence, one way or the other.
Moreover, I think it needs to be said that Chuuya is often well aware when he's being manipulated. He's not oblivious, it's just that there's often nothing he can really do about it. For instance, he is very aware that Fyodor's intention in Cannibalism is to make the agency and mafia fight each other, but as they only have two days before Mori dies and that isn't enough time, he opts for the most direct and immediate course of action.
So, there's another weakness - Chuuya's really not a long-term strategist. He doesn't play the long game like Mori, Dazai or Fyodor - he prefers to sort things out as quickly as possible. However, I need to stress that this does not make him unintelligent or never strategic in the short term.
And that is all that is needed to turn the tables on Fyodor - Fyodor devalues everything about Chuuya other than his ability, but it is always Chuuya who wields that ability, not Dazai. I don't think anyone expects Chuuya to come up with a master plan to completely destroy Fyodor's plans for good... but I fully expect Chuuya to clothesline the guy after the way he continues to refer to him like he's little more than a tool. He's done it before.
Actually, I think I'm just going to wrap this up with a quick list of moments I can think of off the top of my head that demonstrate Chuuya's intelligence.
Every piece of media: Chuuya near immediately pieces Dazai's manipulations together in retrospect, from start to finish.
Main manga: Chuuya is sent to negotiate with the Agency, implying he learned negotiation well from Kouyou.
Fifteen: Chuuya awkwardly tries to shift the investigative focus away from Arahabaki and onto the Old Boss. While this doesn't change Dazai's focus, Dazai ends up entirely unsuspicious of him because he thinks Chuuya just wants to beat people up.
Fifteen: Chuuya expressly warned the Sheep against venturing into Mafia territory to avoid extra aggression.
Fifteen: Chuuya knew the entire time that Randou was the culprit and was gauging how much Dazai knew about his own connection to the Arahabaki situation.
Fifteen: Chuuya goes back to investigate the arcade, suspecting Dazai of having tampered with the game, and was correct in his assumption.
Stormbringer: Chuuya escapes Adam by entering a dark tunnel then hiding to give the illusion that he ran all the way through it. It works and Adam runs right past him.
Stormbringer: Chuuya fakes out Verlaine into thinking he's going to attack N while gearing up to attack Verlaine instead.
Stormbringer: Chuuya fakes out Verlaine again so Adam can launch a surprise attack with an anesthetic.
Dead Apple prologue: Chuuya pieces together Dazai's clue from a single piece of dialogue.
Dead Apple: Chuuya near instantly predicts the course of an incoming grenade while on his motorcycle in motion to ride the shockwave and avoid getting hit.
Also, I think it's important to note that Chuuya's ability is gravity manipulation, not telekinesis. He's not moving whatever he touches - he's manipulating one of the forces acting on it. This means he needs to adjust in the moment to other forces acting on the objects in his surroundings, which can and do change - my first thought was of wind affecting resistance. Either way, he's actually having to juggle a lot of sensory information in the heat of a single moment and that's very difficult to do.
If anyone wants to add any "Chuuya is not dumb" moments that I have missed, please feel free to in the tags or the comments.
Anyways, I hope this answered the initial question, anon!

SOLITARY CONFINEMENT - SUIT OBSERVATION
While rewatching the Jack of Hearts game, I've noticed the suit a main character in a SPECIFIC ROUND often falls into one of two categories when we can see it. ( It's fairly applicable to minor characters too, but not all of them. ) Generally in the scene it is the skill actively being utilized by the player. But there is a time it changes. When a player is going to DIE it is often the suit that is OPPOSITE of what traits the player going to die has been displaying in the scene / round. I emphasize main character in a round because this isn't true if the character only has a brief moment in a round. But let's use some examples, shall we?
I'll add it as a read more because there will be lots of screenshots. And I can't study every death or suit in a round simply because some rounds have more context and interactions than others and/or we don't get to see it.
ROUND 1
the game immediately starts off with this trend because BANDA's suit is a club suit ; you wouldn't know this in the first watch through, but Banda was USING team effort as a way to drastically cut down those who might be the Jack. ( Not many people would approach me. And if you tried to kill me, you were either scheming, just a plain idiot, a psychopath, or a sociopath. To figure that out, I decided to play along and be your partner. ) . Meanwhile Urumi, who has hearts, immediately launches her long-term plan of taking people out via groups and emotional manipulation. We don't visibly see Yaba's but his is said to be a diamond and he was using intelligence to warn not to trust random people when some of the side characters started to blindly ask the nearest person without and basis of trust ( before Urumi's group formed. ) Chishiya's is a diamond too and he was displaying his usual intellect approach with Ippei in this round.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 2
this is our first example of the opposite suit signaling death. Now obviously, none of the suits are actually EXACT opposites. GENKI here is using physical force and VIOLENCE to get an answer, which is what I would put into spades given it is physical. But his suit is a diamond. And diamonds generally (Niragi being an outlier for known players) take the logical approach which is generally seen as an opposite to physical.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 3
Urami uses logic to persuade people to justify killing Akefumi, the one Banda told to lie to Genki. Akefumi however gets hearts. Now, hearts are generally the games with the most deaths. HE is trusting others, HE is playing like a clubs player in this round and victim to hearts manipulation (in this case, Urami's approach). Clubs is more likely everyone (or more people) will survive whereas hearts is more likely only ONE will survive. Hence, Hearts is the opposite of how he as a clubs attitude in this round is playing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 4
we don't see many this round. interestingly enough, Shinobu WASN'T lied to in this round and yet the opposite death flag still raises. ( Sort of, diamonds and hearts tend to be very similar but opposites in some ways. Hearts specializing with emotions while diamonds do not, or only at a theoretical level) She was told HEARTS, which it is. But by this point, Shinobu is taking a diamonds approach of logic - Urami has gotten several people killed so Shinobu CAN'T trust her. Which is logical - and in a way made her a victim to hearts manipulation similar to Akefumi. The emotional impact is shaking her. ADDITIONALLY, the other 2 tell her clubs, as if they are a team. But she's ALONE in this round with no group (and i personally tend to put spades as a more INDIVIDUAL game in general) Hence, in a way, she bought the lie of clubs despite being in a more spades situation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
UNKNOWN ROUND + ROUND 10
Urami has hearts and she's using emotional manipulation in this round again, so once again - showcasing what she's using. But we also almost have her be told Diamonds instead, which the two are generally posed as OPPOSITES for this specific game. However in round 10 she declares it's spade when it ISN'T, because she was killed by a group effort. ( I don't believe we see it in this round - but I like to theorize it was clubs.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 12
Poor Ippei is having an emotional breakdown - and yet he has DIAMOND for this round. Like I said above, while fairly similar, diamonds and hearts are generally opposite for the sake of this game. And you could take emotional intelligence (hearts) vs logical-mathematical intelligence (diamonds). Chishiya however has hearts. We all know this man isn't great with emotions - but it is rather embodying of Chishiya's habit to gravitate towards people like Arisu and Ippei and use them. He does ACKNOWLEDGE Ippei's at a breaking point by saying he's had a blessed life to believe people are good and telling him to just hang in there a bit longer. While true because it also helps him, it does go well with Chishiya's comment post-shootout scene of saying he uses good & kind people for his gain. This right here is that. Ippei is a sunshine puppy who immediately clung to Chishiya and Chishiya....well, he's Chishiya.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ROUND 13
At this point the suits don't matter as much since only Shiga dies. She has HEART but is trying to play clubs using both Yaba and Enji ( This time we have a LITERAL example of what happened with Akefumi in round 3 ) We see Enji has spades because he's become more individualistic now that it's down to the finale ; his teaming up is at its end. Yaba has clubs because he's already established a new truce with Banda. Banda has hearts because he's messing with Enji at this point, Enji believes he has Banda trapped when really its HIM being played for the fool thanks to Banda's acting. And Chishiya is a diamond, back to using cold logic throughout the round when he's approaching people, giving hard facts ( Banda being a murderer, Yaba being a con artist, etc. etc. ) as well as being able to narrow down his options for what the suit might be ( he knows it can't be a heart because he was a heart the previous round so he know Enji lied, Shiga hesitated and avoided answering hence no clubs, so down to spades and diamonds and instinct. but i don't doubt there was likely math & there's plenty of explainations for how Chishiya managed this. )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways....I just thought this was a super interesting observation that sometimes applies to the side characters in rounds but seemed FAIRLY consistent in the game. Maybe a stretch or two but it was a fun little observation and I hope you all enjoyed it!

WAIT HOLD UP
When talking about Mei being like Monkey King. There was a really strong parallel in season 3!
It was kinda mentioned already? But I don‘t just mean thematically, in the execution too! The scene Wukong was willing to kill the host child and Mei was willing to burn him, because they felt they had no other choice.
(I think she even mentioned that this is what Monkey King would do. What a hero would do.)
They both even had that small confrontation of "Are you really willing to sacrifice a child/friend?". And both make the tough call that this is something they HAVE to do. Maybe with some guilt, yes, but always without question.
GOD YOU'RE SO RIGHT ANON.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lady Bone Demon: "Stop! Have you forgotten? Destroy me and you destroy the host. Have you become so desperate to end me that you would sacrifice this blameless, innocent, child?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sun Wukong: "You're giving me no choice! All the time you spent locked away and you haven't changed a bit! I'm going to finish you, like I should have done a long time ago! I told you—you should have stayed buried."
(3x11 This Imperfect World) (Always manifesting this scene for eamk)
-
Tumblr media
Lady Bone Demon: "*laughs* You think whatever happens to Wukong is of concern to me? He is a vessel—nothing more. You would really destroy your own friends to save yourself?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Red Son Voice Over: "Harmonize the wild energies and emotions burning within us and focus them!"
Tumblr media
Mei: "Wukong knew the risks, it's what he would do if he had to. That's the hard part of being a hero!"
(3x12 The Corrupted King) (Omg hi hand motif! Hi!!!!)
-
Bonus Secret 3rd Parallel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MK: "I'm not gonna let you win!" Lady Bone Demon: "In your thirst to destroy me you used all your powers!" MK: "Not all of them."
(2x10 This is the End!)
-
Some extra thoughts under the cut!
What interests me the most about this parallel is the fact that Mei would totally sacrifice Wukong and Wukong would totally sacrifice that little girl—it's a simply trolley problem for them—but if that person were MK?
I don't think either of them could do it.
Here's where I get into more speculative territory, because personally I think Wukong killed Macaque, and I'm also a believer in EAMK, so I'm going to be plastering a lot of red string!
SO. Would Wukong willingly sacrifice someone who meant so much to him?
You could argue he already did so with Macaque—I think that's what they're setting up anyways. I think Macaque's death is going to fall into place with our continuing "do you sacrifice one person for the many" conflict we have going on here, one that was definitely built upon in 4x13:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yellowtusk: "I know full well what would happen should Azure fail but- but he is my brother. I owe him my life!" Sandy: "We get it! I'd do anything to help my friends! But at the cost of the world?" Pigsy: "I'm sorry pal, but NOTHIN' is worth that price!"
(4x13 Rip and Tear)
-
So it seems clear: You sacrifice the one person for the sake of the world.
I think looking at this conflict and using it as a lens to look at Samadhi Fire Mei brings up some interesting points. If Wukong's had pulled off his plan without Macaque or Ne Zha's interference, and then hadn't been able to safely extract the Samadhi Fire from Mei...would Wukong have sacrificed her?
Everyone in 3x10 was willing to sacrifice Mei in a way, to leave her—except MK. MK refused to abandon her, risking himself and the world if he wasn't successful and the Samadhi Fire continued to burn out of control. But in this situation...choosing one person over the world was the right choice.
((Just wanted to point out that both Wukong and Mei are very willing to sacrifice each other which fascinates me. Moving on!))
Wukong himself isn't won't make that sacrifice if he feels there's another option: "You're giving me no choice!" (which I think echoes Mei's "We don't have a choice!" from 3x02)
All of this is a long winded way for me to say that at some point MK is going on the chopping block, either next season or beyond. It's going to be either him or the world, or at least it's going to seem that way, and our protags are going to have to make a very hard choice (omg hi "They will destroy you, harbinger of chaos!").
BUT, BRINGING THIS BACK AROUND TO EAMK.
Wukong won't destroy the one life if he feels he has a choice. This is where baby MK steps in: "all the time [he] spent locked away", and he changed EXTREMELY. To the point where he's basically not the thing that was sealed away in the stone, and very much just a "blameless, innocent, child"—meaning Wukong had a choice.
SO. Basically it's my hope that Wukong already chose MK over the world once, and him and Mei are gonna do it again.

Hello,
I got my first order from you last week and I'm in love with your skirts. I almost didn't buy the Queen of the Night maxi but I'm so glad I did because it's easily my favorite of the skirts I got. I also picked up the Treacherous Garden jogger, and normally the elastic around the ankles bothers me, but yours are loose enough that it doesn't irritate me. I already have a May pre order I'm waiting on, but I don't think I'll be able to resist all those upcoming drops you have planned. All of this because if one blazed tumblr post I saw (in case you ever wonder how successful your ads are).
As a side note, I've been enjoying the Tarot videos as well. They inspired me to get back into using my own Tarot cards.
🥰💖 1000x thank you so much for this message!! You really just went down the line and complimented like every single thing possible! Even my ads! I'm glad my shameless blazing led to so much good stuff, haha. And yeah, there's a lot coming up between now and May Preorder fulfillment. If you miss anything tho, most things will come back around for preorders again after a while. I try to warn everyone if a particular drop has something I'm discontinuing or don't plan to stock for a while. So don't worry too much about needing to jump on all the drops right away! (But if you just want stuff ASAP, well of course feel free to grab it, haha) Side note thanks about the tarot videos 😁 I'm so happy they were inspiring!

👀🫶 would love to hear about the meronia WIP!!
Yeah! :D
Okay, I'll be honest, this idea is still very vague and I don't have any snippets I could share yet, but I will do my best to explain my vision. ^^
The fic will probably be set loosely during the Kira case or maybe shortly after Kira was captured, once Mello and Near have reconciled.
For one, because I definitely want to incorporate the scene where Near asks Rester to come back to the US to accompany him on the plane to Japan.
But also because I want to explore the feelings Near could have about being L and competing with Kira and being very competent in what he is doing while needing support to be this successful (e.g. the plane thing). I want to write about the pain that comes from being different, knowing that you are different, feeling it in everything you do, but people only acknowledging you being different when it is about you being quirky and weird and funny, but refusing to see you struggle because 'your grades are so good :)' or, in Near's case 'well, no one but L has come this close to catching Kira/you have caught Kira - obviously you can't be struggling all that much'.
And then there will be Near's feelings for Mello as, kind of a backbone to the story. Because he is definitely so in love but isn't sure if Mello can be with him and really see him for who he is. Brilliant, yes, but also struggling with mundane tasks and having any semblance of a social life and needing support to function in this world. I imagine that they were very close as kids in this story. And Near knows for sure that Mello didn't have a problem with him being different back then - even if being different meant not being able to do something or struggling with mundane things that seemed to come natural to everyone else. But then they were pushed to compete against each other and ultimately Mello left Wammy's House after L's death and Near is not sure anymore how Mello would feel about him and all of that today - especially because his support needs have changed and evolved after Mello left. Like, he is not even sure anymore if Mello still cares for him as anything but an opponent.
There will definitely be a scene where Near is covering his ears due to overstimulation and Mello notices and puts his own hands on top of Near's in order to help block out the noises. Maybe there will be an impulsive kiss on the forehead if the mood is right. I imagine that that (minus the forehead kiss) is something they used to do on busy loud days in the orphanage, a little way Mello learned to support Near - either helping him to block noise out until it quieted down or they had gone somewhere more quiet.
So, Mello doing it in the present of the story will be a signal for Near that Mello still cares about him and that maybe, they can reconcile. + it demonstrates that it's possible for Mello to see Near as someone who is both a worthy opponent and smart and a capable detective and someone who needs support navigating the world.

hiii not exactly a regression prompt, more of a regression related question^^
how does regression work for you and your ships? like is it something you also do outside of your ships or is it only a fictional type of thing? how do you decide on which f/os or s/is regress/act as caretakers?
I'm guessing the last thing is more of a headcanon and based off vibes thing, kinda like with character sexualities, but I'm just curious to to learn more about it
hope fully I didn't say anything rude/offensive but if I did I apologise, that was not my inetention
I hope your day goes well, good luck with your comm sheet!!🍀✨
@i-put-the-s4p-in-s4pphic
Putting the commission sheet down to answer this one because I want to Thankyou so much for asking I love being Questioned
I do regress IRL in a very controlled and isolated environment, I'm also what they call a Permaregressor (though I like Age Locked more), it just means I never really mentally feel my actual age thus Permanently Regressed. This is why some of Regressed me S/Is are Actual Children instead of being Regressors.
Deciding a character partakes in Agere is mostly Vibes, like a Queer headcanon, they just kinda come to me mostly. Some F/Os who are Caregivers are on there more so because my Regressed Self latched onto them in his little isolated play place, rather than I headcanon them as CGs.
Most of them are Vibes though and headcanons I adopted from Agere blogs I follow.

steve but he's a centaur and i don't even care that centaur anatomy/biology terrifies me because centaur steve!!!
he can literally give rides to dustin and robin! but only if they politely ask because it'd be very rude to just try to hop on
he'd be so tall! his hair is full of secrets and his tail whips eddie in the face whenever he stares
maybe eddie would be a satyr? and chrissy could be a water nymph?
alternatively robin as a satyr because we deserve more women satyrs tbh
and she makes a cute little flower crown for chrissy that makes her so flustered she melts into the river and nearly loses the crown

rhythm!! my keyboard automatically adds hythm after the r... i've been ❤️‍🩹 anon all this time heh so after all the asks even my phone seems to recognise you when i'm starting a new one!!
i'm on hiatus, and i will be for a long time, but i come to tumblr to gossip every now and then and today the first post on my fyp was a self reblog of a wr!work you posted anteayer (my tumblr is spanish 😌☝🏼) and i have to say you lightened my night. i still have to check out the recommendations to gave me in the last ask, but life has been too harsh on me lately and not only do i need time, but also the right mental state to enjoy it properly, if you know what i mean. i will absolutely read the wereroomies one, but just because at this point that little found family of yours is a way of healing by reading.
it's just, i don't know if it's okay to burden you with this, but i kind of need you to know too- how much do you help with your fics. how much comfort do you bring. how much a random reblog or a simple post of you can actually change an unknown life. if i'm on hiatus is because i'm not having the best time of my life rn (quite opposite) and it's not even writing what i can't do, but interacting here is so exhausting and draining that i can't afford it. and tonight i tried opening the app following the advice of a friend (she suggested it could actually be a distraction, reading some comfort fics) and the first thing i see is that wr!drabble??
it was weird the way i actually wanted to cry. in a good way, ofc. just, i've lost the capacity of flowing with words so excuse me if i don't make sense. what i really mean is thank you. i think i've said it a couple of times already since the first ask i sent, but i can't stop repeating it because it's what i feel everytime i see you blog in this app: thank you, thank you, thank you. for every time that you thought on giving up and you didn't, for every second spent in front of the screen, for all the nice words you always have for us, for every day you continue to be how you are, bringing so much joy to this blog, to this community, to this world. i swear, thank you so much 🤍🤍
- ❤️‍🩹 anon (oops, ya es por costumbre)
ohhh, baby mars, you sent this quite a while ago and i'm sorry i'm answering it just now💜
i think i told you already, but i was surprised to learn you were one of my frequent anons🥺🥺💜
i totally relate to the feeling of interacting being exhausting and draining... when life gets rough, our social interactions are one of the first things to take the toll, especially if they're public, so i totally get it.
it warms my heart that you can find some comfort in my silly little words and my silly little blog. truly. being aware of this makes me believe that maybe it's worth it to stay here and continue to share this space with such lovely people, even if it takes me 938472943 years to drop by because Life Is Too Much.
i really do hope things get better soon for you (and for all of us). hang in there, bb. we can do this!
thank you for taking the time to send this message, it really means the world to me💜

We've talked about Venti's love vs Istaroth's and how they parallel one another
But what about the traveller? What about the exception to teyvat's laws? (Also them being an exception to the whole neverending loop of twin/doppelganger deaths maybe lol)
Something something the power of love gets me so what if the unforseen factor is the traveller's love. For teyvat, for their sibling, for their friends.
I mentioned how venti's own love may have sentenced him to his fate. But what if it's the traveller's love that saves him?
Who would be better to bend fate than one who exists outside of it?

Hello! Marine biologist here- I love your merman Aemond fic so so much, it makes my nautical 💜 so happy 😁 Question: since octopuses and squid are so intelligent (I.e. can recognize ppl, solve puzzles, use tools) is Aemond fond or fascinated by them? Or does he just see snack 😂? I like to imagine that octopus are like pets to mermaids- they’re amusing and fun but have unfortunately short lifespans.
Hi dear 😊 Oh, that's such a cool degree! Thank you for the great question. 💜
Merpeople consider squids and cuttlefish food, but some of them do keep these as pets. It's the equivalent of a human with a pet chicken. Unfortunately, Aemond prefers them as snacks.
Smaller octopuses are more common as pets. Merchildren often get into arguments with each other because they all have different favourites. Aemond, of course, was a big fan of blue-ringed octopuses because of their deadly venom. Alicent was horrified by this and banned all pets from their home.
Later, as he grew older, Aemond discovered his fondness for warm animals you can cuddle, like seals, but he keeps this a secret because it's decidedly not cool.

Perhaps the only good thing about Percy so far seemingly not having been cast in the show is that -- aside from my fears of what DG and writers would do with him -- I don't have to look at the actor they chose and constantly think how he's not pretty enough to be Percy. 😅
On the other hand, maybe the casting gods would've miraculously blessed us with the perfect amazingly handsome, delicate featured, beautiful-eyed and soft spoken Percy of our dreams and we're being deprived of the pleasure of gazing upon him as we speak...who knows? 😢
Oh, the cruelty of (most likely) never knowing! Sometimes I'm not sure what I want anymore...😭
But I will always love and protect Percy Wainwright, come hell or high water -- that much at least is certain. ❤

what would you consider your muse's lowest point so far? would they say the same? would they just pretend that it wasn't that bad?
HIS 👏 SELF 👏 IMPOSED 👏 EXILE
i really can't even describe how MUCH it changed him as a person. pre-gen-1 giovanni was very egotistical, shamelessly undermining his opponents in battle and living under the delusion that he, and rocket in extension, is invincible. he literally dubbed himself as the "self-proclaimed strongest trainer" (which he nowadays absolutely does not). by losing, he was taught a valuable lesson and following it, he spent those years in solitude reflecting on himself.
Tumblr media
his decision of disbanding rocket was not a decision made out of humiliation, but guilt.
he never expected to return because he had let his underlings down in a way that couldn't be forgiven. and even post-return, even if his underlings did forgive him, he never fully forgave himself. and i doubt the whole ordeal is ever talked about and that'd be so fun to explore with any rocket muses because it really is a character-defining arc and it'd be fun to have giovanni have the TALK with someone.
not only did it change him as a person, but it really did rebuild rocket from the ground-up. there's no hastily planned public heists anymore. they work so subtly that many regular people may think they haven't been in operation anymore, or not at least in the same caliber as they used to be pre-gen-1 events, despite of having grown exponentially bigger since.
i go canon divergent post-hgss because duh, he did came back. and he'd grown as a person (literally for the worse in terms of threat), therefore losing a battle wasn't the end of the world anymore. rocket went underground for a year or two, only to emerge more dangerous than ever before.
