Oliver Queen had thought he’d seen it all; however this Fenton guy just seems to be full of fun little gadgets. And puns. So many puns.

No one knows anything about the guy other than he’s a mechanical genius. Just magically appeared out of the blue one day with inventions that make Dr. Freeze’s gun look like a toy, claiming that ‘he’s not gonna be here long today but needs to do some field testing.’

And now here's Oliver listening to this kid(it had to be a kid, Fenton didn’t look a day over 14) ramble about how much fun he had today and that he had to come back soon(not looking forward to that). Green Arrow took a good look at the kid. 

He was short, maybe around 5’4 without the boots, and didn’t have much bulk, but clearly had a lot of lean muscle from what Oliver could tell from the fight, and black shaggy undercut hair. He wore a red hazmat suit with black gloves and red with black tinted lenses goggles. All covered with a lab coat that is definitely not OSHA compliant for mad scientist children, not with the way it was singed at the bottom and the sleeves had been torn off at the elbow, and the amount of sewn on patches - the biggest being the Fenton logo on his back. He was also lugging around a massive cannon that had Oliver bound to a lamp post with a glowing green net, but nets weren’t the only thing it could shoot, no it shot out so many things within the half hour they had been fighting that Oliver lost count. The kid also had some weird meta biology if the sharp teeth and pointed ears were anything to go on. But Oliver’s thoughts were cut off by a phone ringing. Fenton looked down and started feeling around his suit until he found his phone, a small Iphone with odd attachments with a green ghost case covered with stickers, stopped the alarm and moved his goggles up to rest on his head wincing as the rising sun shined in his eyes.

“Hoo bright. Alright that's it for today I guess! Thanks for playing with me Mr. Arrow, I think I'm gonna pick up some energy drinks and  a couple of snacks before heading home, I still need to write an English paper for Mr. Lancer and Jazz’ll finish me off if I don’t get home soon” Fenton grinned and started to punch in directions for the nearest convenience store on his phone. It was just around the corner from the street they had left the fight off on, nice. 

‘Maybe I should grab some for Sam and Tuck’ Danny thought, ‘Oh wait I forgot!’ just as he was about to turn into the store he rushed back to where he left Green Arrow, who was trying to saw his way out of the Fentnet with his knife. 

“Sorry! I wanted to do something before I left!” Fenton smiled and put his wiry arm around Oliver in a side hug and pulled out his phone and did a peace sign with the hand around Oliver. “Say Frootloops!”

Fenton pulled off Oliver and showed him the picture, Fenton had a Cheshire cat grin while he had a miserable expression. 

“Ooph, probably not your best look but I think we look cool. And really, that’s all that matters at the end of the day. How I think we look.” 

“You're a menace, what do you want?” 

“You don’t know? I’m god’s playtester and I’m here for bug testing before the rest of the world sees my inventions. Consider Star City my testing sandbox. Anyway see��ya!” and Fenton was gone down the street. 

And that was the day Oliver Queen knew that he needed to make sure that the world outside of Star City could never be exposed to Fenton. Especially the bat. If anyone found out his ego would never recover.

I don't care about whether or not you do anything with this but your post about Blinky and Nibbly going to see Saw X caused my own head cannon.

I've been replying Carrion recently, it's an indie game where you're the monster of a horror movie, I think it's a metroidvania.

Anyway, my point is that I think that Blinky and Nibbly would really like it. A big part of it is eating people and it has the blood that Blinky likes. I think that they would have very different play styles though.

Nibbly would fully go on the offensive, trying to kill everything asap, not caring about health. Meanwhile, Blinky would play it like I play it. Like an ambush predator. Hiding in little areas only to reach down to kill someone, dragging people into water so the corpses are persevered for emergency health. I think Blinky would use parasitism a lot, controlling soldiers to gun down random people and then reaping all the rewards. Nibbly would not care if he is at full health and consume every corpse they make, and the first time he encounters an enemy that can't be eaten he spends 10 minutes trying.

THIS IS TRUE AND REAL!!! Carrion has been on my radar for a while, I love goopy oozy gory stuff and I like the idea of playing as the monster.

Blinky is a completionist and a huge backseat gamer. It's sitting behind Nibbly watching him ram himself at a roadblock, trying to brute force it, and it's seething because he's doing it wrong. Blinky needs to experiment with every ability and mechanic, and needs at least 5 playthroughs of a game to feel satisfied, but Nibbly full-offenses its way through the entire thing and says 'That was fun :)' and never picks it up again. Big 'never blocks/dodges in soulslikes'/'never uses status moves in pokemon' vibes.

But of course, they both have a brother who's an expert at toys and games, and has a large collection of time-looped victims to throw into the meat grinder over and over! With Tinky's help, they can play the real thing, and he's happy, because he loves a good game, especially one that's deeply distressing for everyone else involved.

As for the other LiB gaming, you know Pokey eats rhythm/dance games for breakfast. It also pretends it's above gaming, those petty mortal trinkets are below it, but give it a beautiful soundtrack and it changes its tune (literally). He'll sit next to one of his brothers for an entire playthrough, eyes closed, just listening to the soundtrack.

I'm not sure on Wiggly but I feel like he'd play Tycoon games and 100% them in, like, an hour. Grabs something like Gamedev Story, locks in, and maxes out his in-game studio in record time, then tosses it aside and plays something else. INCREDIBLY grumpy when interrupted. Picks up management sims and runs them like the navy.

Tinky, conversely, plays life sims/sandbox games and runs them like a Hieronymus Bosch painting. Others have said it, but he absolutely sets his Sims on fire/puts them in the pool and removes the ladder, reloads the save, and does it again.

Nibbly loves those old flash games where you just eat and get bigger, and the bigger you get the more things you can eat. It's not a fan of cooking games (from Cooking Mama to things like Papa's Pizzeria) because he gets mad that the food isn't real, but I think he'd dig Bugsnax, I dunno.

Blinky likes blood and guts, gorgeous visuals, games with lots of secrets/collectibles, and multiplayer games where it can troll and get people to rage. A game needs at least two to keep its attention. I can also imagine it running multiple games at once because you know it can't focus on one thing at a time; it has idle/clicker games in one tab, shiny hunting in another, skill grinding in another...

And Webby plays cozy story-driven games where choices matter. She likes to find micro-indie visual novels online, and always comments something nice after playing. Her brothers absolutely give her shit for being a 'fake gamer' because she loves Animal Crossing and puzzle platformers.

Gen'adahl - Female Lavellan/Cullen Rutherford, Rated G, 1485 words

this was one of the first ever DA fics I wrote; I remember scrawling it out in a notebook at my last job where I wasn't allowed to keep my phone at my desk. And I was so proud when I finished it! For me, it represents the proof that I can finish pieces, no matter how long it takes

writing this fic was not only an absolute joy, it was a pinnacle for me: if I could write a fic that captured the depths of Blue's OCs, I could probably do anything. And I did! And I can! It was exactly what I needed at the time and also a reminder that however blase my own knowledge or fandom experience feels to me, it will slot into what even the most knowledgeable fandom personalities know in surprising ways.

One of my first toe dips into the gray area of lore! It was so fun to imagine an alternative for Brosca's origins, to give her a deeper connection to the Stone, to play in the absolute barren wasteland wide open sandbox of Bioware's dwarven lore. Beyond that, this piece highlights my Sibling Bias™️ and how much i love exploring the DAO origins before the Blight, in general.

[SFM] The Voice's Day Off

Season 3 No Album Release (Read More) Idle - Garry's Mod

Look - To tell you that I was DELIGHTED to see this request come into my askbox would be an absolute understatement. In my coverage of SiIvaGunner through this blog, I want to try and touch on as many different parts of its history as possible, to introduce and remind fans new and old of just how many things have been put on the channel in its life. Yet somehow in doing that, I'd forgotten entirely about the Garry's Mod rips, which given their quality is a damn crime.

For that specific generation of internet users who have only recently turned into adults, it's a universal truth that Source Filmmaker (SFM, for short) fucking rules. Released by Valve onto Steam back in 2012, its the software that the company themselves used to animate cinematics within and to promote their own games from around that time - only now being distributed for free to anyone using Steam to use. This opened the floodgates for a whole new wave of amateur animators to fuck around with all sorts of film-making, either by using Valve's own characters such as the cast of Team Fortress 2 or by using models shared on the Workshop. Not too dissimilar to the chaotic and openly unrefined world of YouTube Poop, the resulting wave of SFM animation would be defined by its imperfections - ragdolling characters, distorted facial animations, and generally crazy over-exaggerated animation placed upon environments that looked noticeably stock and standard by comparison.

On SiIvaGunner, the rips of Garry's Mod (a sandbox game that was often used before SFM to make faux-animations/Machinima) are all made to pay tribute to this specific part of internet culture, with SFM animations made within SiIvaGunner's set of inside jokes. And god, man, [SFM] The Voice's Day Off in particular just brings me back to such a fun time on the channel in general. I'll still likely forever say that Season 2 was my favorite time to be invested in the channel due to just how much constant lore development seemed to be occurring at every moment, but...for as engrossing-yet-absurd as those Christmas Comeback Crisis episodes were, there was something refreshing about Season 3 scaling back on things a bit - yet still letting us keep tabs on it all with side episodes and the Haltmann Archives data logs. And yeah, the channel was still definitely going down a sillier, more chaotic path over the course of the Season, and by the start of Season 4 the lore had effectively been put on hold entirely to focus more on the core of the channel. But the result of that shift in focus has left Season 3 as feeling like a sort of crossroads in my mind: as that period of time where the entire community was still aware of and hotly anticipating any and all lore developments and updates on our favorite CCC characters, while still being fully aware that we probably weren't going to see a new main episode any time soon. We were all just lore aware enough to begin having communal fun with all forms of SiIvaGunner lore-shitposting.

Look, what I'm getting at is: [SFM] The Voice's Day Off is an immensely silly animation, yet what its parodying is the SiIvaGunner lore itself. It's an animation where the entire joke is built on the characterization of SiIvaGunner-original character, more than it is about the pop culture that otherwise influences the channel so much more frequently. I am of course immensely happy with how The Voice was portrayed in his grand return in Season 7's Christmas Comeback Crisis episode, yet in those years of time off between Episode 10 and 11 it was the rips like [SFM] The Voice's Day Off that reminded us in the community that The Voice still existed, and that he still very much mattered. Silly of a video as it may be, it is still just a genuinely funny concept and execution for a parody video, given the genuinely evil characterization he has in the storyline. There's just something so fun about seeing the guy sing and boast about his perfectly normal sunday afternoon, althewhile it consists of just as much murderous rampage as he seeks to indulge in during his time in the canon material. Silly parody content or not, even through the often intentionally crude animation, it really was rips like this that helped inform my understanding on The Voice as a character, in particular his love for the theatrical and the borderline flamboyancy he exudes.

...I feel like this post is delving ever closer into character-overanalysis territory akin to Vote Responsibly!!, but I can't help it - I fucking love SiIvaGunner and its lore, and I find The Voice in particular to still be one of the channel's most compelling pieces. And though it's definitely true that he was turned into more of an in-joke within the community during his years off the clock after Season 2, no doubt in part thanks to rips just like [SFM] The Voice's Day Off...I'm still glad silly shit like it was able to exist at all before his grand return. Because for as often-disconnected as I've felt from SiIvaGunner as a community, it felt damn good to be laughing together over the characterization of our favorite pyramid-headed bastard.

Today I came across blog that kind of ruined my mood and now I’m freakin sad because the blog is talking about how Hannigram is not meant to last and Will’s future will be different as Brian said “It’s Will Graham” story . Can you please console me 🥹

I'm sorry, anon! Imo, it's best to block upsetting blogs like that. Fandom is just a hobby, so there's no point in engaging with people who ruin your fun. Especially antis who post in the hannigram tag just to troll people lol.

I don't know what blog you're referring to, so I can't really refute anything they said, but I'll leave you with a few thoughts:

Conflict is the heart of all good stories. When the conflict is resolved, the story is over. Any hypothetical continuation of Hannibal would include conflict, so it's not out of the question that hannigram would have problems in S4. But that doesn't mean they don't love each other!

Unless Bryan has a secret burner account, nobody on tumblr knows how Hannibal was meant to end. We can speculate based on interviews and meta, but it's pointless to pretend to know for sure. All we have are headcanons, so you might as well headcanon whatever makes you happiest. You don't need permission from random internet users to imagine a happily ever after for hannigram!

Even if S4 did happen and hannigram ended tragically, that wouldn't stop us from writing AUs. Fandom is a sandbox where you play make-pretend with your blorbos! Ignoring canon is a time-honored tradition! Even Bryan says the show is fanfiction of the books and that his opinion is just as valid as yours, so it really doesn't matter what he thinks.

If you want my opinion on how the show would have ended, I'm 90% sure that hannigram was endgame. Out of all screen adaptations, the show stuck the closest to the romance in the third novel. There has never been a screen adaption where Hannibal got his original romantic happily ever after. It would be literally insane for them not to be the first, especially when, based on everything from interviews to the show itself, it's obvious that Bryan was a massive fan of the novels. In fact, I believe the post-credits scene of TWOTL was included as a mini happily ever after because the show was cancelled.

what would you recommend if someone wants to start their own oc blog? what's the do's and don'ts? would one need to get a graphic programm for the artwork? what if most of the stories never get written but the oc creation is so much fun? is that bad? is there a masterlist for this kind of question somewhere?

Imma preface this by saying that I'm not sure I am the right person to ask, because this used to be a "I will dump everything right here and y'alls just gotta live with it" blog that only looks like an OC blog these days because I only come back here to post about my OCs (because where else would I do that 😅)

That being said, my number one advice - and sometimes I should be living by it more myself - is to run your blog like you are the target audience. Cater to your preferences. Feed your hyperfixation. Post about what you love. OC fics and edits are not the route to fandom fame by any stretch of the imagination so the very best you can do is to enjoy what you make wether it reaches 30 or 300 or 3 people 😊

So just do your thing, have fun and don't worry too much about what other people might want to see and as long as you don't lift your OCs off of other people's you will be absolutely fine 🤗

Personally, I am using Photoshop for my edits, but sometimes when I feel inspired but can't really be arsed I simply make moodboards using my phone and that's fine as well. If you want to learn to edit on a Photoshop level but don't want to spend Photoshop money (honestly, fair) you can always use Photopea, which is a web based almost 1:1 copy of Photoshop (you can even use PSD files) and doesn’t cost a penny 👌

And I really, really do hope that it doesn’t matter wether a story gets written or if it's all about creating those OCs and only ever seeing their stories play out in your head, because if it was a problem then me and my writer's blocked arse would be in a world of trouble 😆 imo that directly ties in with the "do the things you want to do" of it all. If creating OCs is what you enjoy the most, you don't owe anyone a story to read and vice versa, if you're all about the words and what they create in your mind you don't even have to have a FC for your OC.

This is your sandbox to play in and nobody gets to tell you what to do with it 😉

I honestly don't know if we have some sort of FAQ covering the basics of OC blogging, because I have never not been winging shit, but I hope I could help you a little bit.

For the writer asks :)

My advice for new writers, be it new in general or new to a specific fandom is two things. One: Write that thing. No matter how silly you think it might be or if you worry it's been done before, write it down. You don't even have to end up publishing it. But writing is like any other creative skill: it only gets better! And if you do end up posting it somewhere online, don't be discourged if it doesnt take off immediately. You WILL find your people and it's gonna be glorious.

On that note: Advice No. 2 is: read! Read pulished books, read comics, most of all read the works of other fan-writers like yourself. You will pick up things, you will learn and, the best part, you will find community. So if you read fanworks, don't be shy to comment, even if it's just word vomit or emojis or a simple "Wow, I loved it". If the author links to a Social Media, go follow them, participate in ask games and enjoy the fun side of your fandom. Above all: have friggin fun with it all. The beauty of fanfiction is that anything goes. It's your sandbox and you get to decide what happens in it! <3

Well, if anyone hasn't noticed by now, I love bullying Natsu, Erik, and Jellal. A completely normal amount. I just start writing them and then suddenly, bam—there's the stick. Lisanna too for that matter, but I haven't written her enough to claim favoritism. (More like, I opened up the box, recognized a little bit too much of it, and then I unleashed it upon my brain permanently. I'll get to her properly one of these days.)

Also likely evident from my vast collection, Xiao and Albedo are soooo much fun to poke at, in all manners. Eula too, especially when it comes to sad-boi-hours. Cyno and Nahida are sneaking up on me too, and though I haven't done all that much as of yet, I can assure you they have been rotated, and prime sad boi targets have been acquired.

There's many more, from many other fandoms, even if I haven't written much for them. (Yet.) For instance, I love and support the bullying of the Robins, particularly Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. Also, at the moment, the Savanaclaw trio from Twst is sneaking up on me and making themselves too easy to whack. (Particularly Leona and Ruggie, though Jack is by no means safe either.) There's also old favorites, that developed years of personal history with me and my internal fandom multiverse sandbox, that I rotate in the back of my head whenever I'm bored and need a default: like Tech E. Coyote. :3

i'm thinking about the coworkers au again. i haven't talked about the coworkers au. i'm going to talk about the coworkers au.

coworkers au is the little sandbox in my head where i go what if nothing bad ever happened to lemel and they just worked for the same company as tev and he's the captain of some resource expedition vessel and lemel is the chief of science on it. it's a very fun little au. there's a lot of different aspects i can think about. sometimes i focus on the early parts of their relationship, where they barely interacted because lemel hadn't even been promoted to chief of science yet so they only have a distant idea of tevane as just that hardass captain who Will get you on any space OSHA violations and he Is going to notice so don't try to cut any corners so mostly they just kind of distantly complain about how much of a nitpicky stickler he is, but then when they get promoted, suddenly, they're the one who has to do all the direct reporting (they hate reporting) and he's even more so on their case because their reports are always late (they hate reporting) and they're suddenly mouthing off directly to him in staff meetings because ughh this is so inefficient i could be actually doing things instead of having these fucking reporting meetings!! But! at the same time, he does actually care about what his staff are doing and how they are functioning and so as much as lemel is always getting into it with him, they start to respect him more the more they interact because he actually does advocate for them to the executives and such and doesn't ask them stupidass questions about why the stuff they're doing is necessary or important. and so that's how they become friends.

and it's a really really slow burn au where most of their interactions are just as colleagues for a long while because tevane is notoriously difficult to get close to in a professional setting because he keeps all of his crew at arm's length which he feels is part of his job and responsibility as leader but honestly sometimes has the detrimental effect of making him seem too distant. lemel manages to break through this little by little because they are a bulldozer and just kind of barge into his business and they do Not find him intimidating or if they ever did at any point, have too much of an unstoppable force personality to actually show it.

so he slowly lets them into his personal life aka they kind of just inflict themself on his personal life a lil bit by yelling at him to eat meals on time like a normal person and coffee is Not breakfast and go the fuck to sleep and stop sending emails with a timestamp of 3:49am etc. and like this is coming from a person who will put a shot of five hour energy into their coffee so you know you're in bad shape if that person is giving you health advice. but yah the more they get to know him personally the more lemel realizes holy shit the stoic captain is actually kind of a trashfire mentally because off duty, he's honestly pretty melancholy because hey it turns out keeping everyone at arms length and being married to your job is fucking bad for you esp if you have perfectionist low self esteem tendencies and are generally prone to getting lonely.

he eventually gets better the more they hang out and get to know each other and after a while he actively seeks out their company especially during off hours and when they're not on mission flights until pretty soon lemel is the one person on the crew who actually can read all his tells and realizes he's a pretty emotional person but just in unconventional ways.

and on their end they just really like having someone who can be a partner to them and who really listens to them and actually quietly backs their crazy bullshit shenanigans instead of arguing with them (which lemel does love a good recreational argument, particularly with their siblings But! that's just sibling stuff for them and it matters a lot that tev will just kind of choose to trust them especially on more nebulous things like their feelings and identity stuff because as much as they love and get along with their family, their family also has Opinions about things in the way family tends to so having an independent person who is wholeheartedly in their corner is a big deal, and also their family is kind of high strung, especially in combination, so having someone calm and who they feel really balances them and gives a completely different pov on things that they can have a discussion with is just good for their mental state). anyways it's just a nice time where the biggest issues they have are like, crew gossip, or family drama (because tev's shitty family is still a thing), or occasional occupational hazards from doing space travel and space science.

Hey, Flor! <3 This is going to be a long one, but I hope it’s helpful in some way—it’s kind of a ramble!

I totally understand what you're saying about RPF and how tricky it can be to write without crossing boundaries or feeling like you're disrespecting the real person. It's something I think about too, and I always try to be mindful, but sometimes I wonder if what I’m doing is enough.

The way I handle it is by reminding myself that what I’m writing isn’t truly about Cillian as a real person. No matter how much we speculate, we don’t actually know who he is off-screen. So when I write, it’s more about being inspired by his public persona—the characters he plays, the vibe from his interviews—not about the actual man himself. I’m not writing about his real life or family, just a fictional version of him that fits the story I'm telling.

Like Alex @cillmequick put it so perfectly—it’s like playing in a sandbox with our dolls. That’s how I see it too! We’re not writing about the real people but playing with fictional versions in a world we’ve created.

I get why your first experience with RPF might’ve put you off, especially if it dealt with something sensitive and didn’t even have trigger warnings. That would’ve thrown me off too! Everyone has the right to write what they want, but I’d also be uncomfortable if I stumbled upon something too personal or invasive about someone like Tom, especially without any kind of heads-up.

But I know you, and I know that if you ever decide to write RPF, you’ll do it in a respectful way. You’re thoughtful, and you know where to draw the line. If it feels right for you, and you’re comfortable with it, then that’s what matters. You have the right to create what feels good to you, and you’ll be able to defend that choice if needed.

I get that RPF is a gray area since we’re writing about real people with real lives and families. Sometimes I wonder how Cillian would react if he ever came across my fic—I’m pretty sure he’d be shocked that this world of fanfiction even exists (lol). But at the end of the day, what I’m writing isn’t harming him or his family, and I think that’s the key difference.

Even in literature, authors have always drawn inspiration from real people or experiences. Sometimes, they barely disguise it by changing names, but it's still based on real-life individuals. So I don’t feel too guilty because, like them, I’m taking inspiration and creating something fictional.

This is all a way for me to express myself and have fun, and being in this fandom gives me the freedom to explore ideas that don’t weigh me down. It's one of the few places where I can enjoy thinking about things like what character Tommy Shelby will get involved with next or when Cillian’s next movie is coming out—innocent, creative stuff.

I feel like I committed a crime and I'm about to get arrested 😂😂. Jesus, I've been here for 11 years Tumblr weirdness is almost part of my DNA. But I can't help it.

The first time I read a rpf with Tom as main character was back in 2021 when I started to write for Eddie Brock. I found what it seemed to be a good fic (abandoned) but had several chapters so I started to read it... But to my disgusting surprise around the third chapter it was revealed that the love interest was a fucking minor 😒, even had smut 🙃. That wasn't in the warnings and that was the first and last time I tried to read one. I hated it. Promised myself I was going to read just characters from that moment.

Almost a year later I started to read Cillian Murphy fic written by the beautiful Alex and it changed my mind. I told her back then, that wasn't in my plans and it was a pleasant surprise ❤️.

Then, this year I read Mar and later, Ari's stories also involving Cillian. Also loved them and they know it

But I never tried to read a Tom as rpf again bad experiences mark you forever.

So when this idea appeared in my mind it was...holy shit what? Because I never decided to write it for him as himself. And the cringe inside me it's because that's how I feel 🥴. First because of possible comments I'd receive and then, because I don't know... Is it right? (I know it is, it's fucking fiction) but you know, I can help but think that people will hate it because "hOw dArE yoU! He's A rEal MaN!" And I swear I'm too sensitive these last days and probably I'll cry if that happens.

That said last night I found a name for this woman (is Hannah) and I wrote something, but I'm still unsure if this going to be posted or not.

I'm so sorry for the rambling but it's true that's eating my brain. Figuratively.

I'm just tagging the people I mentioned here because I need comforting words from writers who write rpf 😭🤧.

OK, so I am exhausted mentally and emotionally here, but really given the events of the last week or so I really need to just set the record straight on a few things.

(In the interest of not clogging up everyone's feed with Not Fun Topics, I will be dropping the main body of this post under a break.)

For those who don't know, I'm one of the admins for Harry Potter Fanfiction Club discord server. We discovered recently that The Adult Fandom Project discord server plagiarized our framework, and a few of the mods are now claiming that a) this is not a big deal, and b) that HPFC staff has been harassing them. This is not true.

We reached out to them through our ticket system (and very briefly through theirs) in a moderating capacity as they are were members of our server who broke a fucking rule. We were polite about it, and explained the situation, and offered to help them fix it. They apologized, said they'd get the verbiage changes up by the end of the week, but the channels were going to take a little longer. That's valid, no big deal. Well, the end of the week came and went and they still have giant sections of their server that are identical to ours, which was kind of the big thing we wanted changed. Between that and the vagueblogging (1, 2, 3) we spotted, it was pretty clear what they thought of our concerns -- even if I assume that wires got crossed and these concerns weren't clearly communicated (which is still possible.)

I want to be clear here: the issue was not "you made a Hogwarts-themed server and that really hurt our feelings :( "

The issue is that they copied our shit and didn't even TRY to change it. So, yeah, we're kinda ticked off about that.

That's also just a small section/example. I have receipts, which includes (in my view) proof that 3/4 of the TAFP mods we spoke to were likely not engaging with us in good faith, and were only interested in crafting a narrative that painted them as the victims and us as the aggressors. If you've been following me, you probably know that me engaging like this at all is unheard of... I straight up do not do this shit. I much prefer to stay in my little sandbox with my blorbos and mind my fucking business.

But they came into MY HOUSE. They stole the blueprints and fancied themselves architects, but didn't bother learning how to dig a foundation before they "built" the frame.

It's all well and good to preach about "making the fandom community you want to see" but when push comes to shove we've been doing exactly that for 2 1/2 years. Those blueprints they stole? That's the result of 35+ staff members busting their asses and polling what is now a fairly large adult-only fandom server (sitting at about 2.5k.) All those events and infrastructure? It developed around and grew with our community -- our foundation. It's all fine-tuned for HPFC's use. We would have helped the folks over at TAFP figure out their own infrastructure if they'd just... asked.

That's kind of the crux of the issue here. If they had asked, this would be a non-issue. But they didn't ask. They just took. And they don't respect the work that goes into making something like that -- if they did, they wouldn't have stolen it, but they also wouldn't tell us it doesn't matter when we call them out on it.

As for what comes next... I want to be extremely clear here: I do not support any harassment of Ollie or any of their mod team. This includes publicly bashing the server. Literally, please do not do that. I disagree with the way that they handled things, and I am angry, but all that I wanted was to clear the air and explain what happened and why my entire team is so upset right now. I do not want anyone getting hurt over this any more than they already have.

11. Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve? Okay, so, this is an interesting question to me because I think I've mentioned here in the past (in another writing post/ask game) that I have absolutely no qualms about cutting out big swaths of text from my fics that I feel don't contribute much to the story I'm trying to tell. Sometimes I do get swept up in detail (as you all know) but I spend a lot of time refining, cutting, and replacing behind the scenes. Some of that writing ends up in another doc that I might pick from to adapt into something else/another story, sometimes it stays in the slush pile forever.

12. If a genie offered you three writing wishes, what would they be? Btw if you wish for more wishes the genie turns all your current WIPs into Lorem Ipsum, I don’t make the rules Aha! Love this one. Okay, first of all, I'd wish for my brain to stop pumping out WIP ideas so I could maybe just focus on one or two things at once. Especially when fest deadlines are looming...

My second wish would be to continue to get better at not just writing smut, but the smut that I want to write. I think I've been better at this recently (the latter), and not being shy about it (*coughs* looking at you, my Bill/Charlie one-shot). My writing is my sandbox, and I get to play in it, no matter if people want to join me or not. I just need to keep reminding myself of that.

My third would be that I had the gift of being able to draw. Sadly, my artistic skills are severely lacking, but if I could draw I'd love to be able to make fanart for my fics and my friends' fics.

13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy? This is kind of ironic considering my first fic is pretty much this but - kidfic (however, I'd argue that Forever Live and Die is more of a 'I'm not the kind of person who is good with children' kidfics). I'm not a huge fan of the trope, and writing children well is a skill, and one that I do not have nor really wish to learn any time soon...

Easy? Intimacy, I think? I've been told I'm good at it but more so, for me, writing romantic intimacy comes very easily for me. Why? No idea, mate. I just love writing about people who are obsessed with each other, who would burn the world down for their partners(s)' happiness. I'm just a hopeless romantic in that respect.

I am the only one writing stuff in this fandom so I can do what I want uwu. I do ship them exclusively queerplatonically tho, I can’t imagine either of them having romantic or sexual feelings for each other. And I doubt we will get much more backstory on them then we already got (tho i am expecting we’ll get more from Suwa since his is more set up) but I’m just very interested in the time before the other vampires joined, the two of them would be all alone in a building full of humans. There is also the idea that Suwa was feral for a long time and we don’t know how he got out of it so I like to imagine Takeuchi figured smtng out, he’d be all over something like that. So I like to imagine the two of them simply finding home in each other as two things of same in the middle of a world they no longer belong to. It’s that feeling of home, acceptance and belonging I get when I think about them, rather than any romantic or sexual feelings.

1. What was your first OTP?

HhHhhH The first one i remember is Soul X Maka from Soul Eater. Soul Eater was the first anime I watched when i was like ???? 11-12. And obviously since i was that age i consumed other media before that and probably saw other relationships but for life of me I can’t remember them. That’s probably because when I discovered Anime i discovered fanfiction too so Soul x Maki is the first ship i remember actually searching and reading fics for, sorta getting involved into  a fandom for the first time, tho i wouldn’t be actively involved until i started writing for Durarara. I still haven’t rewatched Soul Eater in its completion since i watched it that first time ;-; Every like 5 years or so my brother and i will start a rewatch and never get very far hjbhjhj we watched it together first so we wanna rewatch it together too but maybe at this point we should just watch it separately. We aren’t very good at watching shows we actually like together hvhjh

17. Are there any popular ships that you just don’t like? What are they?

As I said I think my shipping tastes run p vanilla so I usually like the popular ships or at least don’t mind them much. That being said I did think of few.

Endhawks – I used to be passionately against this because I passionately hated Endeavor but since my feelings for Endeavor simmered down my feelings for this ship also simmered down from ‘THIS WAS MADE IN HELL’ to ‘gross no’. While I do think it’s best for Enji and Rei to separate or at least distance themselves, I hate this idea of Enji immediately getting into another relationship with someone that much younger then him who idolizes him. Like my man, that’s just not what you do when you are recovering from being abusive towards ur last spouse, that’s just a recipe for disaster. I do like their relationship as friends tho but I don’t like the idea of Hawks healing Enji or being a relationship where he can finally really fall in love or something because that just makes me very uncomfy.

Gojohime – apparently this is??? Pretty popular??? I had no idea until Foxy told me ppl were legit considering it endgame. Like…I’m just really not into ships where the guy and girl obviously hate each other and don’t get along and the way Gojo acts around Utahime can classify as nothing but piggy tail pulling. I like ships in which Gojo is compelled to act more mature and responsible but not ships that make it seems like his partner would be his babysitter or his mom or something and that’s v much the vibe this ship is giving me.

Itadori x Nobara – this ship doesn’t have bad vibes I just HEAVILY prefer them as besties. I like that JJK has little to no romantic fumblings and that the main three can just be friends J it’s refreshing. It just wouldn’t feel right for me if they hooked up.

18. What is your favorite unpopular ship?

So this is kind of interesting thing to ask cuz most of my ships that aren’r popular come from me uhhhh roleplaying bnha for over 3 years I think now. Yeah so I used to be super involved into the bnha roleplay community and the thing is with roleplay that you start looking for popular ships (My first was Tododeku) and then it kind of….goes off all over the place with time. The thing is roleplay servers die out and you follow people elsewhere. Sometimes you stay with the entire group, sometimes you just follow 1-2 people you really like. You change servers, you change groups, you stick by the few ppl you really like roleplaying with and eventually you ship together whatever the fuck because at that point the partner is more important than the ship. With a good partner you can make everything work. I mained Hawks, Shouto, Shinsou and sometimes Tamaki and one of my fav rp partners (we mostly rp ocs now) mostly mained Sero so….we did a LOT of Seroroki. I very rarely this ship anywhere but it was very fun we did it in a lot of aus. Same goes for Izuku x Sero X Shouto which we did with another friend in such a nice domestic au it was great. Also Momo x Shinsou with another partner, we didn’t do this for long because the server shut down soon after but uhhh they did yandere Momo and it was such a fantastic performance it sold me on yanderes forever.

Some honorary mentions of other crack ships I did: Midnight x Hawks, Kurogiri x Hari x Kai, Tamaki x Camie, Shishikura x Shouto.

That’s just off the top of my head all of these were surprisingly very good and fun, as I said, the partner matters not the ship. I think this is why I’m like way more lax in shipping in bnha then like in jjk. In jjk I need a ship to have a chemistry I can consider at least somewhat romantic to consider it, in bnha just fuckin everything goes because I’m so used to it just being this sandbox I can do anything in.

OK, I’m back for Hot Takes: Part 2. 

First, just a few stray things I forgot last time:

I’m sure Adaine is enjoying having bested Aelwen (yeah,spelling #3 guys) in the moment but I can’t imagine she’s gonna enjoy all these nerds making cow eyes at her if her time in the AV office is any indication. Though, to be fair, these nerds could have more game.

Anyone who saw Fabian jump on the Hangman, make a lap while on fire, and then come back, still on fire, was probably like, “Classic Fabian.” I wouldn’t even question it. Very on brand. 

Did y’all notice that at a certain point of the fight, everyone clearly went “Game Face” and started playing to win? Like they were joking a lot less and getting all quiet. I was almost holding my breath for them at points. I am convinced they were all having war flashbacks to the first fight. I know I was. 

OK, on to new business!

I think I’m on record as saying that combat is my least fave part of RPGs.You’re spending a lot of time IRL to cover relatively small amounts of time in story and I especially dislike RPGs that use initiative based fighting systems (which is most of them I think) because then you end up with situations like in this ep where Siobhan kept  wanting to attack Aelwen but she couldn’t react when it would make sense for her to do so because she rolled low on initiative. And it’s where most of the rules of the game are and it can get nitty gritty when I prefer to loose, sandbox-y elements of an RPG.

I want to also reiterate that I think Brennan does a fantastic job of making the combat fun to watch by having inventive fight themes and the rest of the cast is fun no matter what.

That being said, I far and away prefer the story episodes to the combat ones and the entire ep I was like, “OK, but then I’m gonna have to wait a whole week for the conversation that happens after this fight,” WHICH IS THE PART YOU WANT TO SEE OBVIOUSLY.

So I am also more looking forward to the aftermath of the fight than I was the fight itself (although the little bit we got of Adaine getting to finally beat Aelwen was great). Here’s a shot list of things I want addressed/am looking forward to.

What exactly is Aelwen’s part in this? Mastermind? Doubt it. Pawn? Maybe. Being magically manipulated? I mean, possible but I kinda hope she’s just Like This. Anyway, if everything is going to end up dovetailing together (like these stories usually do) and Aelwen is a part of the Palimpsest conspiracy which was part of the Harvestmen’s attempted hit on Kristen which was part of the effort to start a war I’m curious about what reason Aelwen would have to want a war. Like, is that conducive to her lifestyle? Does she know about the war thing specifically or does she just know that s/t shady is happening and if she doesn’t ask too many questions, she’s in the clear? Brennan, fighting slime monsters is great but I have story questions. 

They basically have Aelwen dead to rights on this, but I wonder how she’s gonna play this. She doesn’t strike me as the spill guts immediately type. And she should be smart enough to play the diplomatic immunity card. But I hope we at least get some info out of her. 

Man I hope Riz’s mom gets to arrest her. Which would lead to Mr. Abernant yelling at her which would lead to Adaine yelling at him which she should more because it’s great.

 If Fabian lays low, he’s probably gonna get away with the whole kissing Adaine’s sister thing. She really did not care AT ALL compared to how pissed she was at Aelwen, even before she started actively trying to kill them. On the other hand, she could just be prioritizing and Fabian’s still in for it a, “What the hell, man?” Even if she’s not actively mad at him, this won’t be a point in his favor if he ever decides to make a move on her in the future (which it looked like he might).

I wonder how much, if anything, Mr. Abernant knows about Aelwn’s extracurricular activities. Because either he doesn’t know what she’s up to or he does but he’s in denial and/or protecting the family name. I wouldn’t even be asking the question except for that clip of  him being all, “You can’t jail a diplomat’s daughter!” Although, wouldn’t it be wild if it turned out he was talking about Adaine instead of Aelwen there?

And what’s up with Aelwen and Ostentasia? What did she know? What was she helping her with? Did Aelwen have this whole party set up just to get a good chance to snatch her? 

Y’all, there are 4 episodes left. FOUR. We’re getting close to the endgame. There’s not a lot of time to introduce a new set of antagonists, you know? So I feel like next ep has to drop some pretty major info bombs. Especially since we still haven’t addressed all the weird crap Adaine found in her sister’s room. See, the conversation right after the fight! That’s where the magic happens. 

Riz’s dad! I’ve been waiting for this to go down since the graveyard ep and it looks like it finally will! In the promo, Riz says, “Hey Mom. I know about dad.” Which is kinda throwing me for a loop because either that means he doesn’t know exactly how his dad died and Adaine tells him or (the more intriguing option) something even wilder went down which Sklonda is keeping from him and Riz is about to have a storm coming.

“Detect maiden.” MMM ominous. So, is this an classic maiden sacrifice for big spell thing we’re leading up to?

KVX? Ominous again. 

I’ve been meaning to say this. Wasn’t it established in E1 that the setting of FH is this weird little area of the world that happens to look like a modern irl suburb, and the rest of the world is like a normal DnD setting? I didn’t think that would end up mattering since the story has so far been confined to the immediate area but if war ends up happening, it could factor in. 

Also, Adaine finally read that book on Aguefort which raised a lot of questions and suggested time travel might become a factor at some point? Which would be WILD. Imagine Back to the Future but instead of Marty it’s Fig. The timeline would be in shambles.

Brennan keeps mentioning this Nightmare King person and I’ve been keeping that in the back of my head all season, waiting for it to pop up because I refuse to be blindsighted.

And, speaking of, that ice cream later wish is still in play. Don’t think I’ve forgotten.

So yeah! Next episode should drop some big story bombs and I’m SUPER pumped. Lemme know if I missed anything you wanted to hear about.
