❔answering questions: - which club did you pick? I picked the gardening club, because even though in real life I cannot take care of a plant for the life of me (i've tried) i'm even less... skilled, in sports lol. Don't get me wrong I think both things are fun but it's just not my thing.

headcanon time: My Candy signed up for the gardening club, befriended Jade (and had a crush on him at the start of the year) and because she was more a danger than anything in the garden (shenanigans ensue) , she ended up switching clubs, then became representative of her class (I imagine the high school has a lot of students, she's from a different section than the other characters on the first year.) and that's how she ended up befriending Melody and Nath. In the second year, Jade switches schools :c he was one of her best friends there.

-which is your favorite ep?

oh, don't ask me that :") I'll better give you a list in NO specific order because I really, REALLY can't choose: 17 (bye Debrah), 21 (the play!!!), 23 (nath's house), 31 and 32 (lysander's arc), 33 (iris party) and 40 the finale of course! - which non-datable character you like the most?

Priya wasn't datable in HSL so her lol, also Jade and Dajan are really cool in my mind, even thought they appear in only two episodes for some reason I always include them in my headcanons. Mmm, this is hard lol because I like a lot of characters from different reasons and it's hard to compare them to each other yk. Like, objectively we may feel more inclined to say Rosa or Alexy, but that's because we know them really well. But then there's Iris best girl for example, Leigh is also really nice. And then I have fanon versions of Melody and Karla that, in my mind, make me like them more...

It's tough man, but being honest, probably Amber because yes in HSL she was a BULLY I think, as a character, I really like her, she's compelling to me.

❔answering questions:

-what do you think of the removal of kentin, armin and lysandre?

because I have had a lot of time to reflect on this, and now we have alternative life and everything, I think it doesn't hit me as much as it did when I saw the news the first time. Of course it's still sad, because reading all the amazing headcanons people have for these three LIs for that season really makes me wish they did something different but hey! I think the new routes weren't as bad as people make them to be, because they constantly like to compare the new v.s. the old routes and that's not the point. The point is for people to have fun, and i've seen fanarts, fanfics and blogs dedicated to Hyun, Rayan and Priya :D also, adding Priya as a love interest IN MY OPINION was a really nice choice, a lot of people liked her before and now being able to date her??? queen, just give me the ring.

-which one is your favorite episode?

I haven't played this season myself, but i've watched the playthrough of it on YT (planetsucrette te adoro) and honestly? episode 15 "Emotional Rollercoaster" HAS to be at least in my top three for this season, yes i'm a nathaniel girlie but idk, all the drama and the build up and the illu!!! ugh it's so good, I really enjoyed watching it and I cannot imagine finishing that episode and have to WAIT for the continuation!!! the intrigue!!!

Also Rosa's story reaaally pulled my heart strings, i'm going to be honest with you, and there's a scene where Candy has this memory box and there's a bunch of photos from High School, and there's one with them and Alexy and the way they narrate that part is just- is fantastic, I loved it a lot. I think it's on ep 11.

-is there something you don't like about this season?

uh... well, for the longest time, I didn't even wanted to know what it was about, mainly because my interest remained in HSL and the fact that 2/3 of my boys weren't even there was not motivation, at all. There's nothing at the top of my head that I have to critique in general. Maybe if I gave it a little bit more thought, but eh, not in the mood.

i'm in love with his new design, not even going to lie to you. literal heart eyes every time i see him 💗💗💗💗💗

what do you think of his character development?

mmm... i think i said somewhere else in the SEA of post I have rambling about this game lol but, I agree with the sentiment that they could have took a different approach to his story in general. He's still charming, of course, but i'm completely biased in that.

-how did you discover the game?

thanks to a friend who really liked anime :) she was my best friend at the time but I ended up falling in love with the game thanks to roleplaying with two of my best friends in the world + my new bestie because the other one switched schools lol. Now that I think about it, I don't know what her route was xd

Random fact: Those two friends I mentioned? They are both in love with Lysander and are always telling me they are going to steal him from me JAJAJAJA. All of us are head over heels for Armin though. One of them is Kentin's route and Castiel's route (yes, the complete opposites lol) and the other one loves Castiel TO DEATH. Also, my IRL bestie is also Castiel route and uh, quick question: Why does EVERYONE I know love Castiel while the dude literally hates ME? I'm saying like, in every damn account he always manages to be my LOWEST lom. Wanna know why? because I always befriend Nath.

-which one is your favorite special episode (ex: halloween 2011, easter 2012, ect)?

and that's the end :))) If you've read any part of this uh, thank u??? I started writing this tag as a fun silly activity but I ended up getting invested and thinking more about my silly AU. Also, you may have noticed I just call my candy "Candy" and that's not because they don't have names, but the reason is because they are my real names and I don't feel comfortable sharing them online!

I've tried to search for synonyms of my names to use for them, but they just don't feel like me and at the end of the day, My Candy Love is supposed to be played from your perspective and so, yes my candys have different personalities and dynamics with the characters but idk, they are based around me and so giving them other names doesn't really work for me??? it's a matter of preferences I guess.

i'm really fond of this game, but it's a part of me that i only get to talk openly about here on tumblr or with those 2-3 friends, so writing all of this was a sweet experience.

Also .hack//SIGN is on a free streaming service (also apparently it takes place before INFECTION but also according to the Project X Zone wiki Kite appears in episode 28??)

But man. I would buy a Playstation 2 for the sole purpose of playing the quadrilogy!

HELLO EVERYONE I'M GOING TO RAMBLE ABOUT MY COMFORT CHARACTER!!!

It's 00:35 as of starting to write this, I'm tired and don't really care enough to stop myself from writing like a crazy person. So uhm... Sorry.

YOU SEE THIS GUY? THIS THIS THIS ABSOLUTE PERFECT BOY IN MY EYES???

This is Blandon, a character from the yo-kai series/franchise thing. And despite not getting his own episode segment until episode 206 of the anime in Feb 2018 (which is... what 4 years okay now? Okay that's a long time ago but still)

He might have a weird voice in the games, but he (and Dimmy, presumably Nul too) bitch slap people as a soultimate. So all is forgiven. (Also Nul doesn't sound okay at all, #sendhelpforNul)

I love him. More than most fans do, I can't explain it really. But it's probably due to nostalgia. When I first got the first Yokai Watch game, Dimmy caught the interest of my 10 year old self.

'Purple ninja, that looks kind of cute? Nice!' I befriended him, and evolved him into Blandon. And little me lost my marbles. Blandon was the peak of epicness in my eyes. And ever since then I've used Blandon whenever I can.

Please acknowledge Blandon's cool design, I think it's cool, the combo of Black, Purple, Red and Gold/Yellow works well.

I don't remember a playthrough where I didn't use him, when I got the second game I spent ages finding Dimmy. In Blasters, I spent ages trying to befriend Dimmy as well.

So, yeah. I like this scroll boy a lot. I also like Dimmy and Nul a bunch too! Ironically, out of their Yo-kai medals, I like Blandon's medal the least. To be honest, to me it looks like the poor thing is being sucked into a hoover/vacuum. Nul makes me feel even more sympathetic for the poor thing who's sitting sadly on the swing. And Dimmy's medal is by far my favourite, it's very pretty!

Also, I found a video of episode 206 on youtube, and translated the Blandon segment from Malay. I'm going to try and basically describe what happens.

We're skipping the school part, because that's boring.

Nate is looking around with his yo-kai watch, looking for the yokai responsible for everyone ignoring him! Whisper is about to say the typical 'there's no way a yo-kai is responsible for this!!' thing but says something along the lines of: "What are you talking about? No Yo-kai... Damn. I always say that."

Which is funny to me.

ANYWAYS they begin walking, Jibanyan sees/senses another Yo-kai, Nate looks around desperately but can't find where this yo-kai is.

Blandon is like "I'm here lol" and fades into existence to our heroes shock. Nate's like 'Whisper who the heck is this???' Dunno Nate, kind of looks like the ninja guy from episode 8 and that Gorgeous Ambassador episode don't you think?

Whisper uses the holy yo-kai pad, and they discover Blandon makes people practically invisible! (Which is also Dimmy's inspiritment in the games, but in the anime, it was changed for some reason? Seriously why was it changed? I have no idea.)

Whisper looks back and is like 'Wait where did he go?' and TURNS OUT NEITHER NATE NOR JIBANYAN WERE PAYING ATTENTION BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIND HIM NOW EITHER! Mood honestly.

Blandon, poor thing, hasn't even moved a centimetre from his spot. Says something along of the lines of (remember this is a probably bad translation using google translate): "I'm here all the time. As you can see my presence is not felt. Even though I'm near them, no one notices me. Sometimes, it makes me know secrets I shouldn't have. It's very troublesome."

Makes me realize Blandon probably knows a lot of things he shouldn't purely by being there at the wrong time and nobody noticing, probably the same for those he inspirits.

He also mentions people are hunting him for his skills and trying to use him. (assumingly the skill of being unnoticeable)

Then Injurnalist appears, snatches Blandon and the two vanish. Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan don't do anything to try to stop him or his fake articles/rumours. That's kind of sad, to be honest.

Injurnalist and Blandon take pictures of different yokai (Blazion, Blizzaria, Hungramps, Snartle and Komasan to be exact) and use it for the article and spread rumours about them.

After that they return to Nate's house, Injurnalist is like "Thanks Blandon lol" although judging by what happens five seconds later he probably doesn't mean it. BLANDON TEARS UP AND SAYS THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE HAS THANKED HIM.

POOR SOUL.

The other yokai show up, obviously pissed about 1. Having pictures taken of them without consent and 2. Those pictures are being used in a bad way to spread rumours/lies.

Injurnalist quickly pins the blame on Blandon, everyone's like "There's no one there" and proceed to beat Injurnalist up! Yay.

Blandon leaves because Nate, Whisper and Jibanyan are pointing randomly trying to find him like idiots.

Also makes me realize Blandon would be pretty tall if he straightened himself, he's just... Permanently crouching/has bad posture. That doesn't matter because he's literally paper thin, therefore does not have bones!!

So, yes. I spent almost an hour writing this. It's very long and I'll probably regret it in the morning. But here you go. And for those who actually read down here, thanks I really appreciate it. :)

2017 Egopocalypse Detailed Timeline

Jacksepticeye OverNightWatch All Jump Scares so a few months back, i did a 2016 Egopocalypse Detailed Timeline and im glad you guys thought that it helped you with all the ego stuff since not all of you were here when it happened.

so now, we will delve into 2017. this is shorter than 2016 but a lot of interesting things happened. (Detention to Overnight Watch)

i’m putting every video (with time stamps and links to the said video) on this post and some pictures and screenshots that are important and from varies of social media.

As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy! MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME: It's been 10 years since this game has been first announced, and for a while there it seemed like a game destined to be lost in the ether. There is a lot of anxiety amongst fans that this game will never live up to the hype; that it can't possibly climb the mountain of expectations that comes along with 10 years of build up. Make no mistake, Final Fantasy 15 not only lives up to the hype, but exceeds every expectation imaginable COMBAT: For those of you who played the demo, you have a good idea about how the combat works. On the surface, it's a fairly simple action RPG. Hold the attack button, and Noctis does all the work. But of course, at its core, it is a deeply complex system deeply rooted in RPG elements. You'll have to master different tactics for different enemies. You can craft spells, upgrade certain weapons, use different team tactics etc. Every enemy has different weapons/elements that they are strong and weak against. Against low level enemies, it's fairly easy to just hold the attack button and dodge every now and again. But against stronger enemies, you'll have to make sure to use the right weapons, parry, and use your team wisely. It's a brilliant system that is fun against both low and high level enemies. It helps that it looks amazing, and the animation always makes you feel powerful. That was one of the biggest issues with Final Fantasy XIII. The combat system was actually fun, but only once you got to higher level enemies. Against low levels it was downright boring. FF15 puts the power back in the players hands. STORY AND CHARACTERS: Final Fantasy stories tend to be pretty heavy handed on the melodrama. I'm happy to say that this game is light on that. It's still there for sure, but most of the story and characters felt natural to me. There is nice chemistry between the 4 companions, and genuinely amusing banter. I finished the main story in 25 hours. I was going at break neck speed, for the purposes of what we do on this channel, and I was definitely under level for much of the campaign. I can see a normal playthrough taking up to 35-40 hours if you take the time to be at proper level. The story is immensely satisfying, and is filled with humor, raw emotion, and has a real weight that makes you feel invested in the outcome. OPEN-WORLD: There are TONS of things to do in the open world. There are mini-games like an arena wager game, arcade games, Chocobo races, fishing and much more. There are innumerable sidequest, hunts, dungeons and secrets throughout the map. At this point, as a group we've put in over 60 hours in the game, and there is still so much to do. I feel like you can get a minimum of 200 hours out of the game if you wanted to find everything. Maybe even 300. There is always something to do to change the pace from what you're currently doing. OVERALL: There is no such thing as a perfect game. Every game has its flaws. Final Fantasy XV is not an exception. While the gameplay is much more fluid than it was in the demo, it can still feel sluggish at times. It helps if you have a PS4 PRO to make it smoother. Your teammates sometimes do dumb things that put you in danger like not reviving you when they're right next to you. Or Prompto rushing the enemy when he's a distance character. The camera can be wonky in tight spaces. I can see long time fans not enjoy the new battle system. The car can be really frustrating at first, until you start upgrading it. I have never been a hardcore RPG player, so I personally enjoy a more action oriented system compared to a turn based style. They definitely reached for a wider audience here. There are many flaws, BUT for this game, the sum is greater than its parts. To me, its not a question of whether this is the game of the year or not; that's a given. The question is, is this the game of the decade? Where does it rank along side the all time greats? I haven't had this much fun enjoying a game since Ocarina of Time. You get that same feeling when you first walk out on Hyrule Field. The boss battles are majestic. You feel that same awe you did when you first saw the Hydra in God of War. The story left me stunned and emotional at times. This game reminds you why you play games at all. Why you play through all the disappointments, why you keep playing even as you grow older. The sense of exploration and mystery always keeps you going. If you take anything away from reading this it's this: DON'T WATCH THIS VIDEO YET, PLAY THE GAME. EXPERIENCE THIS GAME, THEN COME BACK! To give this game anything less than a 10 would be an insult. At least for me, this is a masterpiece. 10/10

How come your episodes are so short now? I kinda missed when they were like 27 minutes or so

Honestly, it’s because I started watching Polygon’s X/Y nuzlocke and I just loved the style! It was so much funnier and then I went to test it and found so much blank space in my videos where I would just be rambling or confused. By taking that out the videos would essentially be cut in half - it was crazy!

The nuzlocke episodes going up right now were recorded before I started doing this change, so I’ve essentially got 25-35 minutes of footage and it gets cut in half. At about episode 40 and for all my other playthroughs, I started recording about an hour of footage to then cut down. So the videos will be a bit longer soon - about 20-30 minutes. Essentially, the videos are going to end up being the same amount or slightly less than they used to, but will contain about an hour’s worth or progress.

Like I think Undertale is the best example. It hasn’t gone up yet, but in episode 1, I make it past the Toriel stuff and the episode is just under 20 minutes.

I guess my thought process is mostly that I want every minute you guys are watching it to be entertaining and I feel like with the ums or the “I think wing attack should get this Golisopod under half” or the “Ah, so the trial captain lady said to go over here so let’s head over” - I just feel like it’s boring, you know? Like I feel like more people were clicking off and not watching the whole video.

I know it’s kind of a big change, especially to do in the middle of a playthrough, but I kind of felt like the content was subpar and I really didn’t want to bring anything less than my best, especially with Sun and Moon. I’m really sorry that it’s so different for those who liked it before, but I really feel like it’s better now. Stick with it and the length of the episodes will be going back up soon :)

Also, I’m really sorry for the super long answer. I’m in a car right now and there’s not much to do but think and type.

Side Note: The wifi battle videos are probably always going to be short. I don’t edit those down. The battles are just pretty fast paced :)

TLDR: It was inspired by Polygon’s nuzlocke, but the episodes that are going up were recorded before I made the change. Hence, 20-30 minutes of footage edited down equals like 10-15 minutes for the final product. Things recorded post-change have much more footage to compensate for the edits. So those episodes will be around the same length as my old episodes were.

Well, hello!

I’m back from both GenCon and then a week off on family vacation, and big thanks to the amazing Dixie for filling in with this blog last week!

I’m full of energy and rarin’ to go. Doing that thing where you bounce on your toes a bit – which is kind of hard to do typing away as I have been all day!

If my emails were physical mail, the letters would fill my office, so I’m taking a bit of time to get through all of them. Plus, this week’s Monday Meeting was a fair bit of catch-up for all of our crew (besides Eddy, who is still on his vacay visiting wrestling events), with a few reports from us on GenCon, and the meetings that came out of it.

Which I’ll share with you now:

First, the message we relayed at our various panels was that we’re continuing to change/evolve as we need to as a company. So if you think our Kickstarters are only about Deluxe books and we run them like we did in 2013, please check again, because we’re far more likely to run a KS in order to do a print run of books to get into retail stores.

Which is another continuing evolution as we continue to add projects that will mean books that get into distribution and stores via our sales partners at Studio2 and IPR– all while maintaining our availability on DriveThruRPG and our other venues.

The big change at GenCon was our choice to not appear there with an Onyx Path booth in the Exhibitor Hall, so that was something brought up a fair bit at the convention.

So far, from talking things through today, we’re still thinking it was a good decision. Both Mighty Matt McElroy and I had much more time to talk with creators like Travis Legge, our friends in the business (either existing or prospective), translators, and I even made a walk-through of artist alley and got to chat with some of our favorites.

Meanwhile, as we anticipated, our panels were a great place to field questions from our regular attendees. Thanks to all of you who attended and put us through our paces with your questions! We’ll be getting a report on how our demo games went later from The Wrecking Crew, but I, at least, only heard good things about those.

Another big set of questions were about White Wolf/Paradox and how Vampire, V5, WoD, 20th Anniversaries, CofD, and Exalted are going to be created, published, handled.

Part of the confusion was within that “not happening like it used to” theme we talked about. WW/Paradox is signing lots of licensees for all sorts of projects; mostly for V5, but also for other WoD projects. Seeing boardgames come out from four or five different companies, several card games from different companies including the rebirth of Vampire: the Eternal Struggle, and also several computer games is a lot happening that we should be thrilled about as fans.

What seems the most confusing for folks, though, is when they see different companies producing V5 TTRPGs, maybe because they’re concerned about V5 game books being created by multiple companies and that’s just not how it has been done, or they’re are concerned about rules and setting coherence, or overall quality. Or maybe because it’s not clear how the rest of the WoD game lines will be handled.

We at Onyx Path can only reply as we did at the con – with our understanding of the situation. Which is that it is not easy to reconfigure a business as WW/Paradox has been reconfigured and that currently their team is juggling a lot of existing licensed projects as the folks responsible for overseeing the V5 brand. That means, in answer to the concerns of coherence and quality, that WW/Paradox reviews and approves all the projects and follows through their creation with further approvals to maintain everything V5 the way they want it.

Which is another good reason they are working with the fine folks at Modiphius to get more V5 TTRPG material published, as Modiphius can take the biggest portion of the nuts and bolts of publishing and working with other licensees like Onyx Path off of WW/Paradox‘s busy hands and let them focus on brand management.

As for us, well, the wonderful accolades for V5 Chicago By Night‘s Backer PDF, the strong interest in the follow-up material for CbyN that came out of the Kickstarter Stretch goals, and the recent happy excitement over the V5 Cults of the Blood Gods press release, are all music to our ears and are great data-points when we discuss further projects.

(And hey, I know that sometimes it seems like we say stuff over and over on all our social media, including this MMN blog, about our upcoming projects, but we heard from so many surprised folks after that Cults press release who had no idea it was coming that you just gotta let us keep getting the word out in as many ways – and as often we have to in order to reach our far-flung fantastic fans!)

Beyond V5, and figuring that the time will come that other game lines get attention, it’s always going to start with what WW/Paradox wants to do, so they’re the folks you want to politely let know your thoughts and feelings about those WW game lines. We can, and do, submit pitches as a licensee, but they’re the owners and decide which things get the green light to move ahead.

Back to overall Onyx Path changes, we noted at Gen Con that there was no new brochure debuted at Gen Con, as we want to do a full year one – Jan through Dec. So expect 2020 one to debut a month early at PAX Unplugged this year and then throughout 2020’s cons starting with MidWinter in Jan.

That also means that we didn’t spring any new projects at the con, as we usually build them into the brochure. Part of that is the brochure timing thing, and part of it is that we’re looking at announcements that roll out through the year rather than happening at a single event- unless tying it to the event makes the most sense.

You can expect some of those about new projects unannounced that are already in the works, as well as those we worked out in meetings at Gen Con, throughout the rest of this year and through 2020, as we keep on making:

On this date in 1990, Sue, the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton found to date, is discovered by Sue Hendrickson in South Dakota. Y’know, I sure love dinosaurs. As a kid, I corrected Miss Larmen, my Kindergarten teacher, when she misidentified and mispronounced their names. Lest you think I was just a little know-it-all, she encouraged me to do so, thus unknowingly setting me on a life-long path as a smart-ass.
