tbh I was excited to get to ds3 and finish it but I'm kinda sad now that I'm done with all the souls games

twitter is dead to me and i dont feel like my random tweets on my private mean much anymore, and also i can type way more here- so im going to ramble about Lisa again (this is about new content in the Definitive edition)

so yeah i did just beat legacy Lisa before Definitive came out but wanted to replay ASAP to see the new things (which is mainly campfire convos i care abt. also one secret boss). i played Lisa: the First just before jumping back into it as well and i did at first start Joyful buut i wanna get to that after i replay. (i started joyful on legacy too but might just go to definitive for better features and added content) though these are not all "conversations", some or are just scenes of characters doing things.

anyways, i have yet to see nearly all the campfire scenes-- i have gotten nern, tiger face, maybe beastborn?, geese and just now queen. i dont know how many of them are actual conversations... but i did just watch a couple of videos of them on yotube BUT only the ones for characters i wont have/already killed off (sorry Terry :( your scene was so good too...). but when checking prior how scenes are trigger i saw people saying queen's was good and so i specifically wanted to find that considering i love him lol.

and yeah it was really good. i cant say its the "best" bc i havent seen the others but i am biased so... but it was a good conversation-- and i think whats nice about these is it gets brad talking more (....kind of. he still doesnt say much). in general i love that they added these since party members dont have much of a speaking role at all until the endgame. but lemme talk about this one-

(spoilers) their conversation is in Area 2 and you stoke the campfire as an indicator it will happen. Considering my last conversation campfire (if you wanna call it that) was Nern waking up brad in the middle of the night with brad saying nothing, i wasnt sure what to expect if it was a real interaction lmao.

but its really good-- brad is awake sitting at the fire with queen and their talks are kind of casual and queen is basically leading it talking about brad like. how handsome he is, and how desirable he is. and generally talking about sex- so like, expected conversation lol. its mostly amusing bc brad doesnt talk much in general and the few comments seem obviously flustered but.

into that conversation queen pulls away from the sex talk bc he doesnt want brad to be uncomfortable and then they talk about general intimacy, hinting that maybe at the very least, they could cuddle, but that has queen digging a little deeper and realizing brad is saying he doesnt hug people- even people like buddy or dusty. who he says need discipline and thus cant be physically intimate (and stating he reprimanded them for it)

while brad seems to drift off into sleep, queen goes off in a very serious manner basically stating how important it is to have someone you love that you can be intimate with even just in hugging. sorry but i just had to write it all out.

considering the end of the game it makes the choice of letting buddy hug brad so much more painful. brad should have someone he cares about to hold him, and he wanted that. he really wanted that despite whatever else anyone felt for him and its because he denied all of that closeness. yes, of course, this came *after* the main game's writing but, it works a lot into the character for brad that you wouldnt have gotten before, esp because he is so quiet anyways.

and i love how queen is as a character here. he is of course shown pretty 'stereotypical' in being kind of catty and outwardly rude and all that. but you know considering his role of running the bees, i think its totally in character that he talks like this and can be deep and emotional and caring for brad's position of not having any people to be close to.

There won’t be. I’m sorry if you were hoping for that! The Patreon moment is meant to be entirely optional, it’s not something that gets you extra content in the main game.

Is the new CG artist the main one now? :0 I’ve noticed theres been a difference in the art style recently. Is the old CG artist still going to make art for the game? :0

The original artist still makes CGs for the game sometimes, but he mainly focuses on character sprites.

Are you going to put the NSFW our life moment on a website other than patreon? I would love to get it but I can't use patreon atm.

I don’t know. I'm afraid we can't release the Patreon Moment on a normal game storefront because we can't mix 18+ content with our family friendly game. If there's some other place similar to Patreon where it's not the normal type of full-scale public content releases we'd consider using that, but I’m not sure if there is another site that’s better than Patreon in that regard. I'm sorry.

Out of curiosity, in all of your games so far, which characters in each were the most fun to write? They obviously don't have to be your favorite characters!

Buffalo Seer in AFA, really everyone in XOD/XOBD is pretty equally entertaining to write, The Guide in LoV, and Cove in OL!

Mostly, I’ve been watching/listening to Authortube videos as of late! It’s people who talk generally about the process of how books become traditionally published and/or share their own experience as they attempt to be published. I don’t have an interest in writing normal text based books, but it’s really interesting to hear about that world. I’m listening to a video about royalties right now as I answer these asks.

I noticed a bug with the Patreon moment when it comes to what your character wears. When Jamie and Cove are kissing while my character only had dresses selected, I had both the option to remove the dress or to remove the shirt... Picking one of the options to interact with Cove, after he removed his shirt, it had Jamie remove their shirt followed by ther pants despite only having dresses picked.

hello!! i’m not sure if it’s an update but i’ve just replayed our life and at the end i can’t propose to cove anymore? :(( i’ve actually tried playing twice but the options are not there anymore, did you guys remove the options? i’m sorry if you’ve answered this before!! thank you and have a good one :) 

I’m afraid things haven’t been changed or removed, so I think you might’ve accidentally picked the wrong things somewhere along the way and locked yourself out of being able to propose by mistake. Sometimes you meant to say you want to get married but instead you mis-click and have it so the MC isn’t thinking about marriage or something. All I can suggest is starting from the beginning of Step 3 and making sure to follow the steps listed in the FAQ. I’m sorry for that.

Did yall remove some of the options for when youre making out with Cove in the charity moment? I could've sworn you could grab his bonkadonk and its not there anymore 

This is the same situation as the above. We didn’t remove things and you’re not wrong that there are sometimes those options. But there are various choices you have to make to get those options and it sounds like you accidentally missed something. If your relationship isn’t long-term, you can’t do it for example.

Yeah, he’s awkward about it because he likes the MC and it feels very personal to share a straw with his crush.

Hi! I just wrapped up my second playthrough of Our Life, and I absolutely adore it, but I had a question. I went to the gallery and found I was missing 2 CGS (specifically Step 1-3 and 2-3) and I had no clue where they would've shown up. Which moments are those found in? 

You get it by telling Cove about his dad offering you money to be his friend in Step 1 and Step 2. You can’t get both in one playthrough, since you can only tell Cove the truth once. I’m really glad you liked it!

I don’t know, aha. I think Baxter was around 5′10 and Derek was like 5′8/5′9, maybe. I really am not one who has specific heights for things in mind.

I was wondering if there is a way to transfer save data? Even if through the game files. I wanted to be able to transfer my save data from my desktop over to my laptop so that I could continue playing right where I left off from but I'm not entirely sure how to go about that. 

If you save the save folder/persistent data of the game from your desktop and put it into the game folder on your other device, that could work.

Unfortunately, it’s not really something we have a plan for. We couldn’t finish the game if we tried to include every disability and have it be meaningful. It’d just be too much content to create. But if we decide to only include a few, how would we choose which disabilities get to be represented and which are left out? I don’t know. It’ll probably have to be something we don’t include as an option again, sadly. I’m sorry.

Honestly, I would like to thank Our Life for helping me come to terms with my sexuality. Before, I never would've actually thought that it was possible to like boys romantically and still be asexual. Almost all of the BL visual novels I've read had unskippable sexual content in them and it honestly just didn't click with what I feel. I'm glad I found Our Life. I love the game, the developers, and this fandom so much. Now, I can safely come out as homoromantic AND asexual (at least anonymously here anyway; my parents are still huge homophobes 😂).

I keep replaying Our Life to get every possible iteration and I am loving it <3 I was wondering if Cove gets locked out of his confession because MC was talking to Lee, would it be possible to confess to him in step 4? 

Yeah, you can avoid the confession in Step 3 and then get it in Step 4.

Hi, my Cove wears bracelets through step 2 and 3 but I still don't get an option to give him a bracelet? I didn't even know that was possible until I seen someone else ask about it lol 

Hm, did you use the Cove creator? Maybe there’s a bug where using the creator to add bracelets doesn’t fulfill the requirement to give Cove a bracelet in Step 3.

Wait, I'm dense, when does Baxter appear in step 2? Is it from big park firework? I feel so bad since i really love Baxter and waiting to buy his dlc. 

It’s in the Soiree Moment. You have to be just friends with Cove, indifferent, or crushing but not ask Cove to the dance at all. Then while there you can find someone new to dance with. But if you bring Cove to the dance while crushing, the MC won’t wanna dance with anyone else so you can’t get the scene.

In step 2 when we go to the soiree I made my mc go alone and baxter chooses the mc to dance, i'm curious, why did he pick the mc? sorry if this has been asked before! 

Because the MC looked to be around his age, seemed to also be searching for a partner, and had nice legs. A perfect option for him.

I read some of the FAQs, and I saw that we could tell Baxter about the condo that he rented there was previously the mean old grandparents. how do we get the mc to tell him that? 

It happens in the DLC Moment “Late Shift”. If you don’t have a job you instead get a longer scene with Baxter.

I’m afraid I’m not sure what you mean. Are you asking how we programmed the screen or something script related? Adding Moments like that is pretty straightforward, though. You just have buttons that open to different labels and then the scripts are essentially individual short stories/vignettes. Good luck with your VN!

Since Autumn becomes gender fluid later in the game, will there be a character who remains as he/him to romance in game? 

OL1 has the he/him LIs, OL2 is all about other genders.

I don't want to impose on your creative plans, but a parrot could possibly make a good pet in an OL-type game? They're pretty long-lived and likely to still be thriving by the end even if the MC got them back in step 1. 

I do appreciate the suggestion, but I’m afraid it’s not likely going to happen. I understand there are technically some animals that could theoretically live long enough to last the whole game that or we could have the MC only get a pet after some years have already passed. But the many things that would have to be considered/accommodated for makes it just something we probably can’t manage adding. I’m sorry.

Yeah, we’ll show content from other Steps in the future. It’ll be a little while from now, though.

Can you date Cove and still have your family comfort you in the car?

You can’t get Cove’s Step 3 confession scene if you have the family comfort you in the car. But that’s not the only way to date him. You can get together with him earlier in the game or later on in Step 4.

Is Mc always going to be the one walking down the aisle or could Cove do it? Also could you choose to have one of your moms walk you? 

No. Cove wouldn’t want to walk down the aisle like that and the MC automatically respects that. And the MC also gets to have their preferences respected, so it’s up to you whether they want to do an aisle walk or not. You also can pick who, if anyone, walks with you.

Once step 4 is out, will you be able to go the whole game on crush/love without either of you confessing? 

Yes, as long as you tell the game you don’t want to progress the relationship. Even in Step 4 it won’t force you to officially get together.

Howdy, so in Step 4, there will be any Romance with Derek that is not part of any dlc? 

He’s only a friend unless you get his romance story.

Will the step 4 in OL2 be one big step or are you considering moments? 

Step 4 is just an epilogue in both games.

Nope. Cliff has a very small interest in sex. If he’s not in a real relationship with a partner he’s crazy about it simply isn’t something he feels a need for, so one night stands wouldn’t even cross his mind.

Maybe! There are side characters who could be given romance stories, but whether or not it will happen depends on funding and how long everything else takes to finish.

Okay I replayed dr/v3 for the secound time now (well I didn’t do chapter 6 because I’ve done it mainly for my portrayal for Kaede and Kokichi and since both of them... well... you know.) And idk there are some things about Kokichi that I only really got after seeing it the secound time and I need to ramble somewhere. So why not here? First of all, this little shit says out loud the biggest spoilers of the game sometimes. Like after trial 2 or so. “If this would be a show, many people would watch it” or before trial 4: “Gonta would even kill someone in order to protect me” while investigating the case (which is pretty much what happened in this case.) Also when you talk to him in free time, he says some pretty interesting stuff, that is seen as a lie when you play the game the first time, but it makes you think about it if you read it a secound time.

(this is a photo from my crappy tv, sorry)  BUUUT it’s pretty much what he does the whole game? He pretends to be the bad guy to get the reactions from others. He corners all people and tries to get through their walls, reading people, seeing what they really are like. Which is pretty ironic because no one in this games has as many walls up and layers over him like he himself.

relationships with others.

There are just some relationships I want to talk about here, because mostly people only talk about him and Shuichi, which is a pity, there’s so much more in the game. Let’s begin with Kaede. In his ftes with her, he lies to her all the time, and she believes a whole lot of what he says, which let’s him notice how her “believing in others” and stubborn way with things is flawed, telling her if she continues to be like this she probably will die first....... (talking about spoiling the game again) However, he also says that the only reason why he tells her that, is because he cares about her. (which also makes sense bc it’s the secound and last fte with the two of them). I also finally noticed how he was really upset about Kaede being executed. Shuichi only claimed that he was acting, which he wasn’t. He cared about her and of course didn’t want her to die, just like everyone else did. His blank expression (which is 99% of time used if he’s being truthful for once) is also used before her execution. Him saying she “wasn’t a boring person” must also mean that he did like her. 

Another person I want to mention is Miu. He worked off-screen together with her a lot. And I honestly don’t think they hated each other despite them being super brutal to each other in the trials. (Miu even apologized to him before her killing attempt) It’s also a reason why I think he got very upset about her trying to kill him, since they were kinda partners, he definetely talked in a very pissed manner about her after her death, guess that’s kind of a grudge since he kinda trusted her, after all he showed her always his sketches for her new inventions and stuff. 

Gonta is probably the only real friend Kokichi ever had in this game, and when he was seen next to someone else it was him. Of course he used him a lot since Gonta wasn’t the smartest guy around and easy for him to manipulate, but like with Kaede, I truly believe his tears for him at his execution were real. Hell, probably even his suggestion to Monokuma to get executed together with him, He often cried in the game and showed that he was upset for real, but just pretended it was an act and a lie afterwards. :’) or at least that’s how I saw it while replaying the game. Gontas death was also pretty much what has driven him insane enough to pretend to be the mastermind. I think at this time he just snapped because it was enough and he wanted to end this madness once and for all, no matter what.

I can’t find the link anymore, but there’s also a translation about the board in his room somewhere in the net, which listed pretty much that he never 100% trusted anyone from the group E V E R. But he seemed especially iffy towards Maki and Kiibo. Maki obviously because she is an assassin, someone like Kokichi that doesn’t trust anybody would probably need tons of development to ever trust someone that has experience in killing in a killing game. He also seemed to hate killers in general, since he also seemed very upset at Kaede in trial 1 for trying to commit murder. (since his Dice is against harming others seriously not to mention killing other people.)

With Kiibo, I think he never really had ill intentions when it came to him. He just knew that he was used for something. Pretty sure he didn’t figure out for what, but since Kokichi always knew so much more than the rest of the class, I think he already assumed him being something like the voice of the audience. That’s why he never fully trusted Kiibo either and was kinda mean/cruel to him. I also think that another reason why he gave him this much attention is, simply because he just found it awesome to have a robot classmate, then besides all the shit he does and no matter how smart Kokichi may be, deep down he is still just a childish boy that likes to collect toy laser guns. So of course a robot friend would excite him too. Do robots have dicks though? Kiibo, Shuichi, Kaito and Himiko were the people he tormented with the most. 

Shuichi obviously because he was the one solving the mysteries, he wanted to work together with him, but was really bad at approaching him about it? (Kokichi why are you so anti-social pls how do you make friends, I honestly don’t know lmfao.) And since he always pretended to be an asshole, Shuichi of course ignored him most of the time and prefered working together with Kaito. (I would have too in Shuichis place) Still though, it’s a pity... who knows what they could have solved and how many lifes they could have saved if Kokichi worked with everyone together  from the beginning... You guys should have listened to Kaede

Still, Shuichi prefering Kaito as a partner seemed to bug him and he got jealous of Kaito. Not only Shuichi, everyone else liked Kaito better than him too. (again, Kokichi it’s kinda your own fault for pretending to be the bad guy and even becoming the bad guy after what you did to Gonta)  This is also shown after trial 4, Kokichi getting pissed at how everyone is worried about Kaito. I guess he also shows dislike for him because Kaito chooses to believe in people, no matter what... this is completely the opposite of his thinking and ways, since he always wants the truth and proof for everything because he is just this distrusting. 

The last one I want to talk about is Himiko. Because him and her are a pretty popular item in the japanese fandom. I never really got why, but after replaying it I kinda can get behind it’s popularity besides it only looking kinda cute?  Kokichi was to no one as nice as to her in the game in my opinion. And I know this sounds really dumb and stupid because he also teases and insults her A WHOLE LOT. It’s so much, that it’s suspicous lmao. I’m not saying he has a canon crush on her, because in my opinion, Kokichi is way too much of a mystery to tell who he likes, IF he even liked someone in the game. (Saiouma shippers want to kill me here). So despite him mentioning often how ugly she is (he is a liar though) and how it’s too bad that she can’t cast a spell to make her boobs appear bigger, let’s focus on the nice things he has done for her.  I guess the most obvious one is him saying to her that lying to oneself isn’t good, which makes her break out in tears and thanks to him and Tenko being more honest to herself from that point on in the game. I really like this scene, especially after knowing that he tells her not to do something that he’s doing himself the whole game long... He lies to himself because he thinks he couldn’t stay sane if he wouldn’t. However there are other things that I found interesting. He apologized to her before lockpicking angies lab. I mean he said it with a grin, because he really wanted to do it himself, but just him saying “Sorry, the others really want me to.” was sweet for someone usually rude as him?  He also complimented Himiko in a honest tone in trial 3 for picking the middle room for the seance, because without it they wouldn’t have found the clues for angies death there. Also while she was sleeping on Gontas back he said stuff like “aww look at her, she fall asleep after crying so much”. These things are just not that usual for him, and this together with his probably fake confession makes them a cute item. (again, my opinion.) 

So this was the ramble of someone who went through the game a secound time and focused super hard on Kokichis dialogues and parts.

Despite it all and his good intentions. I don’t think what Kokichi has done was right! He meant well, but pretending to be the mastermind was wrong. Sacraficing Gonta was also wrong. He isn’t a bad person but he isn’t a hero either. He would have been a much bigger help if he had worked with everyone from the start. Things could have gone differently... Still, I really like him, I just wish he could have survived and try to learn to trust others a bit more.... Now excuse me while I will cry for all my faves again that died in this game. 1: Console or PC? I love playing with a controller vs a keyboard, but if I had to pick one it would be PC just because of graphics and smoother gameplay normally.

2: Favourite Favorite genre(s)? I love RPG/JRPG, platformers, or strategies.

3: Least favorite genre? I feel like any type of shooter that doesn’t have a story written and normally is rinse and repeat a.k.a Call of Duty, Battlefield, “newer” Medal of Honor

4: Top three video games? FUCK.... Um, honestly anything made by Nintendo, Rare until the Microsoft buyout, Ubisoft until the current gen. of games, any Bethesda game, any comic book based etc.

5: Games based on movies - in your experience, good or bad? Usually, unless it’s like Star Wars, LOTR, or even some of the early 007 games where you can expand your universe it’s mainly an adaptation of the movie with some extra gameplay/wtf cutscene, so it really depends on if the film was good.

6: Favourite Favorite game based on a film?I really like Goldeneye, mainly because it was nothing like the shitty film lmao.

I can’t just answer one bc there’s too many series so here are some of my favs: Assassins Creed, Mario, BorderlansZelda, Gears of War, Halo, Medal of Honor,(look I know I hate shooters but usually they have decent story lines), just to screw around on Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row, any of the WWE/F series, any Rare title prior to the Microsoft buyout, ect.

Borderlands 2, just because it was my first 100% finished game, or a just in general favorite game would be Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 because I played that like for almost 2 years straight every day at an old friend’s house and am currently replaying all of it with my cute baby Key!

10: Do you tend to stick with one genre, or do you play a range of different game styles? Usually, I get in the mood for one type of genre and stick with it until I want to play a different genre.

11: Do you prefer to play alone or with others? I love playing with others but I usually wonder off track and try to notice like every last detail in a game that I get annoying to play with so I usually play either alone, unless there’s coop then I’m forcing Key to play with my ass lmao.

12: When a game has an online connection option, do you use it? If it forces me to or needs me to get like better bonuses then yes.

13: At what age did you start playing video games? Literally, my earliest memory was being sick almost daily playing Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers on the SNES at like 3 years old.

14: What was the first video game you played? Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.

Confusing and long ass way to ask what my newest game is, but the newest title I own is WWE 2K17 just because I barely have time to buy new games and play them. Side note: Dumbass Dill Bill just read the question again and realized what it was asking. The answer remains the same, just wanted to clarify that I had a dumbass moment.

16: Your Favourite Favorite game console? That’s a tough decision, my first and currently longest owned console is the PS2, the first one I bought and the one with the best, in my opinion, games is the N64, so one of those two probably.

26: Most disappointing video game you've played? No man's sky. I literally thought of it to be my new favorite game and then I got it when it came out and was disappointed 4/10 don’t recomend.

27: Most surprisingly good/enjoyable video game you've played? Unravel honestly it's fucking amazing. It looks very child based at first but watch the E3 demo of it last year and you’ll see that for a single player game it’s very underrated.

28: One game you hate and everyone else seems to like? Call of fucking duty.
