first therapy appointment today. unfortunately I am annoyed by she/they millennials who use words like animal friends and make a lot of expressions when I talk about my emotions to show that they are engaged. idk why this is my jerk reaction. but it’s almost like I want a tough therapist. honestly I might prefer a straight woman who just is like, no bullshit, or even a man, over a therapist that is ostensibly matched w my identity. esp bc my brand of queer - working class butch transsexual - is not always compatible w queer therapists, who seem to be more on the tenderqueer vibe of things.

however this is sliding scale and what I can afford and I should not be too judgmental off of one session. they were ultimately like, clearly thinking about their methods, which is nice. I’m proud of myself for seeking out help regardless if this is a good fit. and I’m gonna try Al-anon and some other things for support….
