But in reality he was celebrating the unexpected arrival of his first child Barnaby on the day before shooting was completed in November. Blonde-haired James, aged 31, explained: "I missed the birth and I had to drive down the motorway from Manchester to London through the night to see my wife Shana and the baby. Then I drove back for the last days' filming and the scenes were all in the tavern so I was celebrating for real. It was totally unexpected because he was seven weeks early and my wife Shana didn't believe the doctor who told her she was going into labour!"

"I really wanted to be there but I knew nothing about it until it was all over," recalled James, 31. "The problem was that Barnaby arrived seven weeks early so my wife Shana had no idea. The doctor just told her she'd give birth within the next two hours and she said "I can't, I haven't had my breathing classes yet!," he laughed.

was watching DS9 with the roommates earlier (first watch-through of the series for one of them) and today we got to "Far Beyond the Stars," unquestionably one of the greatest sci-fi episodes of television ever made, and since we're fresh off all things Twin Peaks, we were delighted when the episode answered Monica Bellucci's question:

turns out it was Captain Sisko all along

seriously tho, the Lynchian-like stuff in this episode is really fun if you pick at it. Sisko is having something of a psychogenic fugue, which is something that is all over the place in Lynch's work. You're left wondering and questioning: who is the real man? Is it Sisko, is it Benny Russell? The metatextuality of it all! Lynch loves to be metatextual, and you literally have Sisko discussing at the end his own questioning of what is the true reality, that last shot of Benny looking back at Sisko in the reflection is haunting, plus there's the very real truth that DS9 actually *is* a dream of the future. Not Benny Russell's, but Gene Roddenberry's, Ira Stephen Behr, Robert Hewitt Wolfe, Ron Moore, et. al

There's been reams written on the excellent social commentary in this episode but the exploration of identity and the self and the reflexivity of the metatextual bits is a little underexplored, I think? The cast being transformed into sci-fi writers to make commentary on sci-writing, as written by actual sci-fi writers.

Benny is the dreamer, Sisko is the dream. We are all dreaming with him. Sometimes you cherish a dream so much you will risk everything to see it through, at great personal cost

anyway, I could ramble on about this show forever. It's so wonderfully textured. What a ride season 6 especially is: today we went from "Waltz" to "Who Mourns For Morn?" to "Far Beyond the Stars" to "One Little Ship." If that sequence doesn't perfectly encapsulate what makes DS9 so multifaceted, I don't know what does! It's such a joy to binge watch a show that changes its tone up week to week while still maintaining a strong serialized story.

David Lynch's work seeks to point out the importance of balance: I can't think of a show that is much better balanced than DS9? It covers every genre, it's comedic, it's intense, it's philosophical, it's artistic, it's spiritual, it's tragic, it's familiar, and it's heartwarming.

Modern tv, especially of the serialized variety, is such a drag.

also as an aside: the sets on this episode are stunning? Benny's apartment is especially wonderful: it's the lived in, chaotic apartment of a bachelor writer. Nothing is arranged but you can feel that Benny knows in his head exactly where everything is.

just finished da2. I'm actually speechless. the ending hurt, it was heartbreaking in the best way (also bonus points for the dai tease). at the same time, it really felt like hawks' story isn't over. like there are still plenty of tales to tell about them. I genuinely want more of them and of their friends/lovers.

i adore this story. all the companions, the side characters... the game certainly has its flaws, many of which could be blamed on the extremely short time it spent in the oven, but MAN was it not one of the best written narrative games I got to play so far

Jack sometimes falls asleep while taking care of the sheep's and when he wakes up there is a bouquet of flowers at his side or a basket with food.

He wants to know who's the person leaving the gifts, but every time he is about to find out, his secret admirer slips away.

His sister knows the secret admirer is hiccup because one day that she came with jack to take care of the sheep she saw him leaving another bouquet of flowers while jack was a little far in the pasture guiding a sheep back to the flock.

She promised hiccup to not say anything but she also promised jack to help him find out who the secret admirer is. She tells jack. But jack is like "Hiccup? That can't be. He is busy being a dragon rider and I'm sure he probably is dating someone else"

Well, she tried. Plan B.

She saw hiccup hiding and ready with another gift for jack. She tells him that jack's asleep and he can leave it without problem. And yeah, he sees jack lying in the grass under a tree so he goes but he didn't consider that the girl pushed him and he ended up falling over jack, waking him up very rudely.

Now here we are, jack shocked to see hiccup but holy shit that hurt can you please get off of me, hiccup being embarrassed and apologizing over and over and jack's sister laughing at them.

Month 3, day 1

Once again, I haven't gone to bed yet, it's still the day I started working on this! :P

Still following the snowman tutorial, this time I had to do a bunch of troubleshooting with renders because even though the scarf is supposed to look all fuzzy now, it wasn't doing that, like, at all, even though I followed the tutorial steps down to the 100th decimal on settings. So that took an hour and I'm still not convinced it looks right, but I'll fuck with it tomorrow. ... "Tomorrow" meaning "sometime after I wake up" lol

So I'm an area director at a summer camp, but yesterday my boss called me and asked if I'd be down to be the director of two areas and I said yes without thinking about the consequences. So now I'm the director of two areas? That means two groups of staff to train and lead, two sets of lesson plans, two areas to teach at and make the schedule for and make the lesson plans for, two physical areas to set up. They're right next to each other, but this is going to be fucking insane
