I always thought is very tricky to draw that wrinkle that goes from the nose and around the mouth and still male it look good, but gosh you nail it in every art, super expressive and pretty. Looking at all your drawings 🔍🕵‍♀️ to properly appreciate and study it. But wow really in love with your art style is so expressive and pleasing to look at, and the colors are so pretty 👌👌👌👌

i LOVEEE drawing wrinkles!!! it makes faces soso so expressive and i try to add wrinkles to every character i draw whenever i can. and the fact i also love drawing characters smiling (they make me happy, so i want to be able to share my joy to other people by drawing them smiling too!) which of course makes that wrinkle around the nose and mouth more prominent :-)

im not a person that can draw well from memory, i use references excessively even if it doesnt turn out the same way from the reference im copying from in the end 😊

i drew these out real quick but i have no clue how to explain any of these so i just thought about sharing it with you anyways!

call it "cheating" or whatever, but most of the time i even trace over the reference just to have a base i can copy the expression im trying to draw from. i do art for fun and if it makes my process that much easier then. well!

anyhoo, ignore the fact these are all mr lassos... i just love him a whole bunch 💛

taro ⇢ if someone called you right now to catch up, what’re the things you’d tell them about?

I would probably gush about a lot of the books I am reading right now (pride and prejudice, little women, prince caspian (tho I preferred the horse and his boy), when you reach me), tell them about my day and how I got to spend more time with my dad (he’s just at work a lot), how glad I am to be drawing more, and then I’d probably tell them about Poldark. Because I’m rewatching it. And then also tell them that my high school’s cast of Fire in the Hole (which I am a part of!) is performing at one of my city’s best theaters in January for Drama State! I’m so excited!

chamomile ⇢ what kind of things do you like receiving as gifts?

Ohh little things.. things I can tell people put thought into. And also silly things yk? Sometimes I get a gift I would never have even considered and like. I fall into a deep love with it. And also drawings and art and handmade cards I love it all! And also books <3

ivy ⇢ what are your ‘tells’ for your emotions and moods? how can someone tell you’re happy, annoyed, upset or tired?

Hmmm when I’m happy I get really really really talkative and more outgoing, when I’m annoyed you can hear it in my voice and then when people point it out then I feel such horrible instant regret, when I’m upset I will start to get exasperated and probably start crying and leave the room, and when I am tired you might not be able to tell because I act just slightly more frazzled and silly then before and forget more things lmao

sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?

I loveee paintings, but embroidery as an art form is lovely, especially when people make it a whole art thing. I went to a museum (I do not remember where unfortunately) and someone had put together a compilation of framed fabric squares where on each square was stitched a different interpretation of what scars are. I also think collages and art of that sort are also really really really important because that’s the type of thing I would make, and do make. It’s an opportunity to compile and show off, to meld and hide and display and snip and glue and layer typically hand-picked and hand-cut words and images and it’s beautiful. And I really admire musicians and singers like whoaaaa you did that and you did it in a way that sounded like sunlight.

orchid ⇢ what’s a song you consider to be perfect? 

I really love the song Thérèse by Maya Hawke.. it’s so beautiful. It’s apparently inspired by a painting which is just so lovely because the whole song is just kind of imagining what the girl in the painting is like and what she’s doing and thinking and then there’s that human possessive element to it where you’re like “this doesn’t belong to you, it’s mine! You have all of this other stuff please, let me have this” and it sounds really lovely too.

Love at first sight. The blue hair and dark academy style stole his attention right away, felt the need the get close to you and start a deep honest conversation but finally choose to play it cool.

Movies. If possible a drive in theater would be the best so you have certain privacy. Later suggest to have dinner together. You choose the movie and he chooses the food.

The way you express yourself, mostly because it easen for him to understand your mind. Always hyping you to speak out your feelings.

Hits him out of nowhere while you were talking about your day. Realised best part of the day is talking to you, somehow you always have something fun and interesting to say. Doesn't want to lose any chance to hear you talk.

Art museum. Stares at you more than he looks at the art and constantly asking for your opinion over anything. Suggest to take you pictures and blush a little while doing so.
