Note
I'm gonna need some Floyd vore headcanons, if you'd be so kind as to share your brainrot with me
You have no idea the tidal wave of brain rot you have unleashed. This eel, this crazed eel is honestly the best near cannon pred in this game, other than Leona.
gonna put this ramble under the cut. It’s going to be long.
Floyd is a playful or scary pred. Usually both.
is able to eat people full size when in his human form. Super stretchy and flexible.
can and has eaten up to 3 people in his mer form. His mer form has 2 stomachs too.
has eaten other students when hungry enough but always lets them out. He doesn’t want to get expelled.
calls eating people “the deep squeeze”
favorite people to eat are:
riddle (his angry squirms and yelling are so silly to Floyd, totally worth the collaring he gets afterward)
grim (sealy is sometimes just asking for it)
shrimpy (he loves his little shrimpy and they taste amazing!)
and of course Azul. Octopus is one of his favorite foods anyway.
I’m not going to focus on the shenanigans between Floyd and shrimpy, maybe their friends to.
once the whole overblot thing was over he like the brave little shrimp!
he loves giving shrimpy squeezes and at some point happily ate them up because they were too cute!
assures them that he means no harm, he just likes the squirms, they tickle in the best way.
Usually has his tongue lolling out of his mouth when he’s eaten someone. It just feels so good!
if it’s someone he knows/cares about, he happily pokes and prods at them, kneading into his belly to make them squirm and readjust.
beware if serving in the mostro lounge and you spill food on yourself because in any mood floyd will happily take a break to help clean you up. swallowing you up and commenting how the food added to your flavor.
this eel is a menace and will chase you with a pie or some sort of dish to throw into you so he can have an excuse to give you a deep squeeze.
has also used this method to bring people to the lounge if they are required to be there by some contract or other reason.
Prefers full sized prey since they make his belly nice and full and their squirms are that much better.
wouldn’t hesitate to swallow up a shrunken student for fun though. It’s his little secret!
if for some reason his prey is a bit oblivious to his obvious hunger he will lick them and chomp at them to try and give the hint.
best way to know when he’s in a pred mood is when he stares at someone alot and drools alot. Maybe whines and rubs his tummy to try and calm it down.
doesn’t eat people in class since the teachers have frozen him mid snack before.
in that case he will just snatch who he wants in the hallways and skip his own class to enjoy his snack.
is in a pred mood more often when in eel form. Beware
LOVES swallowing people up into his second stomach along a part of his tail. Very squirm and punch and kick sends a blissful tingle down his long body.
if jade had some prey, he happily teases and pokes his twins belly, sometimes whining that he wanted to eat them (if it was shrimpy)
if he was allowed to, probably could have eaten the ADuce + grim group. Leaving shrimpy and jack to jade.
when he’s eaten his shrimpy he loves to squeeze his belly nice and close, sometimes nosing and nuzzling into the dome of wiggling flesh.
if in eel form, he will wrap his tail around his rounded belly and squeeze shrimpy closer that way
does happy wiggles when he’s eaten someone. likes to sing little songs about his prey, saying cute little things like:
”yummy yummy, shrimpy in my tummy!”
”ne, ne. Shrimpy you’re so wiggly! Maybe you’ve got some eel in ya, hehehe. Nah I’ve got some shrimpy in me though!”
has used this to scare many others too.
if his shrimpy started to cry though out of fear he would let them out immediately and gently hug them close, assuring them it was safe, it’s just his way of “making shrimpy mine for a bit. It would be boring without you. So don’t worry about being digested! You’ll be fine.”
he just loves shrimpy so much, even if it’s unwilling most of the time, he doesn’t want shrimpy being scared or sad.
if shrimpy is willing he’s over the moon! He’ll hug them close and tease them a lot before gobbling them up and squeezing them even closer to his very core, cooing out in a daze about how he loves his shrimpy so much.

I love when magic has an effect on the body & soul of its caster. like!! you don’t get to be a reality-bending demi-god and walk away with no strings attached. there’s always a price.
Bloom’s dragon fire consumes her from the inside, leaving lightning-like tissues of scars along her limbs - be careful, rumbles the Great Dragon from within, don’t let your emotions consume you. Bloom wails from the pain and clutches whoever is in the vicinity - but cannot fully stop it. just prevent it or treat the aftermath.
Musa gets migraines. Stella becomes ill when she doesn’t get her daily dose of sunshine. Aisha’s senses get muddy sometimes, almost as if she’s submerged underwater. Nabu experiences uncontrollable tremors in his arms, when he creates too many of his phantoms. all of those are - yes, horrible to experience but manageable enough for the school (and the Magic community at large) to tell them to just suck it up and weather through.
once you get your enchantix though, you start developing… unique abilities. almost like, in achieving the final fairy form, you became one with your brand of magic.
Bloom starts producing smoke. Like - she snorts at something funny Riven or Sky say, and literal puffs of smoke emerge from her nose. It’s jarring at first (“Bloom Peters, when did you start smoking? do you know that it kills??”) but quickly becomes endearing once they realise it’s not life-threatening in any way (after speed-running through like fifteen Magix apothecaries). Among her other ‘oddities’: too hot to cuddle with (only Stella can stand the high temperature, since she has a resistance to heat), becomes strangely overprotective and a little possessive, her eyes sometimes become a startling orange hue as if she’s embodied by the great dragon himself (it’s just a party trick).
Stella becomes more ethereal. In certain lights, her skin looks translucent - like a mirage weaved with moonlight. Her hair glints in the sun, almost too bright to like at; her touch feels phantom-like. She becomes even more beautiful, but less - human, earth-bound, Stella-esque. A curse and a blessing, that one.
Musa’s hearing gets really fucking good. She has a steadily growing dossier of blackmail on every student in Alfea - simply because shut doors or longer distances are no longer obstacles for her. It’s annoying too, because she can’t exactly turn it off - and now she gets to hear all the things people say about her, behind her. but here’s a consolation - she can influence other creature’s emotions through the melodies she hums! like how in canon, she pacified the bird Roc and brought mirth to the arguing fairies.
Flora gets much sturdier. Her skin harder than bark; her body able to withstand thirst and hunger for much longer than the rest. It’s honestly so intimidating. Here’s this sweet young woman — known to cry for trampled flowers and cut weeds!! — absolutely bodying a sharp ass ice shard that Icy attacked her with. It just — crumbles upon colliding with Flora’s body. insane and frankly so so hot for others to see.
As per the negatives… I like the idea of Flora being able to connect to the memories of nature around her and literally absorb the pain/fear/anguish of whatever she witnessed.
Aisha and Bloom are similar, in a sense that both of them are vessels to primordial divinities of their universe — Bloom is the holder of the Dragon Flame, and Aisha is the child of the Infinite Ocean. therefore, both experience a more extreme transformation than their girl friends. like, Aisha’s dreams are infiltrated by visions of past and future; memories of those who were lost to the Ocean. she dreams of Politea, of Tritanus, of her mer cousins and ancestors, and even those who were not yet born. if Aisha was not so mentally wilful, she might’ve folded under the weight of those prophesies.
Aisha can also breathe under water and her body gets the musculature it needs to be on par with her mer cousins while swimming, because why the fuck not?
Tecna - I frankly have no ideas for and would love to hear suggestions!

Siren's Song Masterlist
Summary: After pushing the limits of the peace treaty between the merfolk below and seamen above, Feyre finds herself snared by the Captain of Hewn Harbor. Knowing she can’t survive on land for extended periods of time, she agrees to a bargain of Rhysand’s creation, in time surrendering to the cost neither of them predicted.
But then, when do matters of the heart follow a rule book?
~~~~~
Chapter I: Hewn Harbor
Feyre
She knew better than to be heading for the surface. Yes, out of the water her deep blue scales and fins turned to human legs. It was easy enough to visibly masquerade as a human. But the second she opened her mouth to ask for something she was at risk of a true human recognizing her natural gift of compulsion. Even if Feyre didn't sing above the waves, a natural allure would always lie beneath her words.
Her kind were silver-tongued.
They were deadly.
And they were forbidden from entering human territory.
A few hundred years ago, humans and mer were two peoples at war. Pirates were drowned by song and sirens were captured and kept from the waters until they died. Finally, a former human and mer king decided enough death had been seen. The sirens would stay beneath the waves, their songs kept far below the surface where no passing ship would possibly hear them. The pirates would remain in specific waters if they wished to dive.
They were told from birth that if they were to cross paths with a human by mistake then they were to swim away, far and fast. Even standing for centuries, the treaty was a fragile thing, practically teetering on a scale to see which race would be the first to break the promise of their ancestors.
But Feyre had always been one to bend the rules, especially when it came to her middle sister, Elain. Between storm-wrecked ships and ancient sailor drownings, a few human inventions had been left to their waters, enchanting her curious sister.
Tomorrow was her birthday and Feyre needed to handle her gift. A thing or two from the array of gadgets and gizmos beyond the surf were always Feyre's gift to her—as they still managed to hold her fascination.
Elain would scold her, of course. Give a lecture along the lines of, “You know about the treaty. You're being reckless, leaving Adriata. Even if Tarquin favors you, the second he finds out where you swim off to it’ll be your head, Feyre. Taking human form, Mother help you, Feyre!”
In the end she accepted the gift, curiosity sated for the time being.
As for Tarquin’s interest in Feyre… She knew he found her attractive. Flirtation was obvious in the reasonable amount of time she spent with him, trailing behind her socialite sisters. But she had absolutely no interest in the mer king’s courtship.
Or anyone else’s for that matter.
She pushed those thoughts from her mind as she broke the surface, hiding beneath the docks. Hewn Harbor was a busy port, many sailors… unsavory, as she’d learned in the past few years she’d surfaced to collect a trinket for her sister. She’d also learned to locate the few quiet spots to get in and out of the water. Finding one now, she watched her webbed fingers change into human ones as her tail divided, a simple white cotton dress replacing the tight band of fabric that normally covered her breasts and ribs.
Adjusting her balance quickly, she slipped into the crowd of merchants, pirates, and whatever other customers milled about. With the fast-moving crowd, she wished her delicate sandals had been close-toed, but it didn’t take long to figure out how to weave through without getting trampled.
After getting an appraisal on a handful of lovely pearls, she made her way to the noisy market sector, eying novelty foods, souvenirs, clothing, and knickknacks from all over the world. Approaching the autumn equinox a few weeks from now, many of the vendors had decorated their booths in rich reds, oranges, and golds, as well as changed their wares for cooler weather.
Noticing the cloud coverage today, Feyre swiped a dark cloak to cover herself. She’d be back beneath the waves before things got too nasty. She approached a booth displaying jewelry of a great variety, both in design and material. A crystalline rose pendant caught her eye.
“I’ll take this one, please.”
The middle-aged woman smiled, not bothering with idle chatter as she accepted her payment.
“There you have it, dear.”
“Thank you.”
She frowned at the crack of thunder overhead, watching a handful of vendors close up their food and clothing booths. “Sounds like a rough one. You best run, girl. Get home quick.”
“I will.”
Hurrying back down the docks, Feyre stumbled into a trio of men who already looked half-drunk, despite the muffled daylight present. She cleared my throat. “Excuse me, gentlemen.”
They all grinned, looking like anything but gentlemen. “I haven’t seen a girl as pretty as you in ages.”
“I’m flattered. And uninterested. If you don’t mind, I need to return to my family.”
How they interpreted family was up to them. “Now, hold on a minute.”
“There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” The trio stiffened at the voice behind her. Perhaps that casual tone was something to fear when it came to the speaker. She didn’t turn to look, even as a hand came to rest between her shoulder blades. “Thank you for finding her for me. I’ll accompany her home before the storm turns.”
“Of course, Captain.”
They scurried away as Feyre let that information sink in.
Captain?
Captain.
The Jewel of Adriata, where she and her sisters resided, was beneath Hewn Harbor. Hewn Harbor was a family port. Not in the sense of being friendly to all ages, but in the sense of being under the iron grip of a powerful family line that predated the birth of the treaty. Had she bothered paying attention to whoever was currently in control of the harbor she might be prepared to face this man, but…
Feyre slowly turned, finding herself facing violet eyes and a disarming smile. He was young. Mid to late twenties, if she had to guess. And he was more beautiful than any male she’d met beneath the waters around them, siren magic be damned.
A name clicked then, whispered months ago in passing, almost as if the girl was fearful.
Rhysand Stern.
His family had been one of the most guilty when it came to hunting our kind, those years ago. Oral stories claimed the Stern family and those served it could sniff out a siren before they surfaced.
“Thank you,” she said quickly, hoping she didn't sound nervous. “I really should head home now.”
“Of course. It was my pleasure, Miss…”
“Claire.”
“Claire. I hope the next time we meet our circumstances will be better.”
She noted the angle of his body, almost amused by how he had shifted. Even the hunters couldn’t resist natural compulsion. “Safe travels, Captain.”
And with that, she headed for the sea.
Fear Not! Coronavirus Precautions!
“Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love” (2 John 3).
I pray that you are doing well despite the perilous times in which we are living.
I am a first responder with our volunteer fire department. I just wanted to share a few things with you about the caronavirus that were shared with our department.
First of all, Thus saith the Lord, “Fear not!” This phrase is found 63 times in the Bible.
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32).
“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matthew 6:25-34).
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation” (Psalms 91:1-16).
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17).
“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Isaiah 43:1, 2).
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).
For a study on trusting the Lord for everything, please read the following article.
The Faith of the Son of God – Jun-Jul 2018
Paul exclaimed, “I live by the faith of the Son of God” (Galatians 2:20). Wait a minute, I know we are to “…walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7), but Paul talks about “the faith of” God’s Son, not his own faith. …Read More
Some Precautions
1) Wash your hands often. Hands are the number one carrier of germs and viruses.
2) Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes.
3) Drink lots of water. The caronavirus first attaches in your throat, and cannot survive well in warm temperatures. It can be washed down to the stomach by warm water where it will be killed by your stomach acid. If you have a sore throat gargle with warm salt water, and drink lots of water.
4) Monitor yourself and others with a thermometer, preferably one that does not need to touch the patient.
5) Stay at least six feet away from anyone who has symptoms of caronavirus without protection. Protection will include gloves, mask, eye protection, and a gown. Even with these precautions, limit all contact, and carefully remove and dispose of the protection, then wash your clothes, shower, and change into clean clothes. Spray the bottom of your shoes with a disinfectant like Lysol, before entering your vehicle or house after you have been exposed to coronavirus.
According to the CDC Website here are some things you should watch for.
Watch for symptoms Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases. The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.*
Fever
Cough
Shortness of breath
*This is based on what has been seen previously as the incubation period of MERS-CoV viruses.
If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include*:
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
New confusion or inability to arouse
Bluish lips or face
*This list is not all inclusive. Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning.
If you suspect someone to be a carrier of the caronavirus, they will probably not be transported to the hospital unless they have emergency warning signs.
Currently, President Trump is requesting that you avoid gatherings of more than ten people, and avoid unnecessary travel.
I am not giving you everything you need to know about this, so check your trusted news sources for more information.
The best preparation you can make is to draw near to God. “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded” (James 4:8).
There are a lot of promises of protection in the Bible for us, claim them and believe them for you and your family. If there is known sin in your life, ask God to remove it, then ask Him to reveal more light. Watch and pray is the instruction Jesus gave His disciples before their faith was severely tried.
As students of the Bible we should not be surprised by things like this. There are a lot of potential events behind the scenes that might explain why this is going on right now. The bottom line is, Satan is behind it all.
“…Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time” (Revelation 12:12).
The final conflict will be over worship. Read Revelation 13. God’s Ten Commandments are split into two sections, 1-4 deal with worship to God, 5-10 deal with how we treat people. The primary commandments that will be involved in this final conflict revolve around commandments 1 and 4.
On February 18, 1890 there was a Breckenridge Sunday Bill presented to the House of Representatives in the United States. Here is a portion of what this bill entailed.
“Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That it shall be unlawful for any person or corporation, or employee of any person or corporation in the District of Columbia, to perform any secular labor or business, or to cause the same to be performed by any person in their employment on Sunday, except works of necessity or mercy; nor shall it be lawful for any person or corporation to receive pay for labor or services performed or rendered in violation of this act…”
JO Corliss testified before the house in opposition to this bill saying,
“…In this connection let me say, gentlemen, that the District of Columbia has just the same kind of a Sunday law as that of Ohio. This law of the District of Columbia was in force when this book was issued which I hold in my hand, which was April 1, 1868; and I am told that this law (which I will read) was re-enacted in 1874. I now quote from the law. Section 1 provides that- ‘If any person shall DENY THE TRINITY, he shall, for the first offense, be bored through the tongue, and fined twenty pounds; … and for the second offense, the offender being thereof convict as aforesaid, shall be stigmatized by burning on the forehead with the letter B, and fined forty pounds; and for the third offense, the offender being thereof convict as aforesaid, shall suffer death, without the benefit of the clergy.’ Section 10 of the same law has this:- ‘No person whatever shall do any bodily labor on the Lord’s day, commonly called Sunday …’ Now, gentlemen, that law has never been repealed.” (Arguments on the Breckinridge Sunday Bill, by AT Jones, pages 3,13).
Friends, we are living in perilous times. The Lord is coming soon. The final crisis will be over worship, and the two primary aspects that will be brought to law will cause people to violate God’s Ten Commandment Laws on the true God we worship, and the day on which we worship. How those will be brought to play in forbidding people to buy or sell unless they violate these Laws is yet to be seen. But pay attention, friends, it is coming. Make sure you know who you worship, and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, and worship Him in part by resting “the Sabbath day according to the Commandment” (Luke 23:56).
Please read these booklets: God’s Love on Trial, National ID and the Mark of the Beast, and The Mark of the Beast.
Farewell my Brothers and Sisters. God bless you and keep you.
“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3:14-21).
“jo wilson is overrated and i dislike her a lot”
cool, we didn’t ask for your opinion but thank you for sharing!!
“she tends to be snappy with her attendings for whatever reason”
she’s not snappy. if you actually understood where she was coming from, and see how everyone tried walking all over her to begin with, you’d see she’s not being snappy she’s finally putting her goddamn foot down and not letting people trample all over her but you obviously are too young to understand the hell she was put through.
“she thinks she’s entitled bc she lived in her car”
it was brought up a handful of times to reinstate her traumatic backstory. never once has she used it for her entitlement. she went from living in her car as a TEENAGER with no parents or anything to being beaten almost to death by a man she once loved and trusted to becoming a kickass fucking surgeon graduating top of her classes and having to go into hiding so she wouldn’t be beaten again.
“that does not give you the excuse to be mad at everyone else in the world”
okay then how about you become the child of a r*pe victim, been left at a fire station days old, been an orphan your entire life, be homeless, live in a car, finally start living a decent life with a man who you end up being beaten within inches of your life, impregnated by him, have an abortion, flee your home and change your name and then tell me you aren’t angry with the world too? my life wasnt HALF this bad but i still had a really shitty life and i hate the world a lot too. are you going to tell me that i’m not allowed to be angry?
“half those people had rough childhoods and they deal with those demons on their own without rubbing it in others faces”
i would like exact evidence where jo is rubbing it in peoples faces about her shitty childhood to better herself in a malicious manner.
“she was also jealous of stephanie”
yeah i would’ve been too since steph actually got OR time and wasn’t constantly sidelined and walked all over by meredith too. amelia actually saw steph’s talent and instead of sidelining her snd ignoring her like mer did to jo, amelia bettered stephanie. no wonder jo was jealous. she was jealous that steph got to fucking learn bc mer couldn’t get off her high fucking horse and let jo experience!
lastly, there’s an anti tag for a reason don’t tag jolex, jo wilson, jo karev, and Alex karev in an anti-fan post thanks 😊
Jo Wilson is overrated and I dislike her a lot.
She tends to be snappy for whatever reason with her attendings and thinks she's entitled BECAUSE SHE LIVED IN HER CAR. OK, WE GET IT. That does not give you an excuse to be mad at everyone else in the world! Half of those people had rough childhoods and they deal with those demons on their own WITHOUT RUBBING IT IN OTHERS FACES!! She was also jealous of Stephanie. Okay sorry, I am done thank you for listening and I am very sorry if I offended you I'm open to listening to the other side :))al
Finding one now, she watched her webbed fingers change into human ones as her tail divided, a simple white cotton dress replacing the tight band of fabric that normally covered her breasts and ribs.
Adjusting her balance quickly, she slipped into the crowd of merchants, pirates, and whatever other customers milled about. With the fast-moving crowd, she wished her delicate sandals had been close-toed, but it didn’t take long to figure out how to weave through without getting trampled.
After getting an appraisal on a handful of lovely pearls, she made her way to the noisy market sector, eying novelty foods, souvenirs, clothing, and knickknacks from all over the world. Approaching the autumn Equinox a few weeks from now, many of the vendors had decorated their booths in rich reds, oranges, and golds, as well as changed their wares for cooler weather.
Noticing the cloud coverage today, she swiped a dark cloak to cover herself. She’d be back beneath the waves before things got too nasty. She approached a booth displaying jewelry of a great variety, both in design and material. A crystalline rose pendant caught my eye.
“I’ll take this one, please.”
The middle-aged woman smiled, not bothering with idle chatter as she accepted her payment.
“There you have it, dear.”
“Thank you.”
She frowned at the crack of thunder overhead, watching a handful of vendors close up their food and clothing booths. “Sounds like a rough one. You best run, girl. Get home quick.”
”I will.”
Hurrying back down the docks, she stumbled into a trio of men who already looked half-drunk, despite the muffled daylight present. She cleared her throat. “Excuse me, gentlemen.”
They all grinned, looking like anything but gentlemen. “I haven’t seen a girl as pretty as you in ages.”
“I’m flattered. And uninterested. If you don’t mind, I need to return to my family.”
How they interpreted family was up to them. “Now, hold on a minute.”
“There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” The trio stiffened at the voice behind her. Perhaps that casual tone was something to fear when it came to the speaker. Feyre didn’t turn to look, even as a hand came to rest between her shoulder blades. “Thank you for finding her for me. I’ll accompany her home before the storm turns.”
“Of course, Captain.”
They scurried away as I let that information sink in.
Captain?
Captain.
The Jewel of Adriata, where Feyre and her sisters resided, was beneath Hewn Harbor. Hewn Harbor was a family port. Not in the sense of being friendly to all ages, but in the sense of being under the iron grip of a powerful family line that predated the birth of the treaty. Had she bothered paying attention to whoever was currently in control of the harbor she might be prepared to face this man, but…
Feyre slowly turned, finding herself facing violet eyes and a disarming smile. He was young. Mid to late twenties, if she had to guess. And he was more beautiful than any male she’d met beneath the waters around them, siren magic be damned.
A name clicked then, whispered months ago in passing, almost as if the girl was fearful.
Rhysand Stern.
His family had been one of the most guilty when it came to hunting our kind, those years ago. Oral stories claimed the Stern family and those served it could sniff out a siren before they surfaced.
“Of course. It was my pleasure, Miss…”
“Claire.”
“Claire. I hope the next time we meet our circumstances will be better.”
She noted the angle of his body, almost amused by how he had shifted. Even the hunters couldn’t resist natural compulsion. “Safe travels, Captain.”
And with that, she headed for the sea.
