ANYWAY gathered up images of all the dragons that we see in atla/tlok (that I can remember, I think this is all of them) mostly for art ref/autism purposes but man. noticed that they did NOT make these beasties consistent in design lolol

most of the dragons we see have bat-like wings, like your typical European dragon... Zuko’s hallucination/prophetic fever dream dragons do NOT which might imply “oh his brain just didn’t load the wings in” but in Korra the Dragon training Avatar Wan doesn’t have wings either (closer to a more snake-like Chinese dragon) soo some dont ?  I guess

Zuko’s dragon and the green dragon from the comics are weirdly jacked.. like they have a gym membership... why is that Dragon stacked... scary

there also seems to be variation on whether or not they have spikes or fur on their spine and whether or not they have beards or fins.. I’m really not going anywhere with this... idk hope this can be a helpful art ref ? for anyone who wants it
