HEY Y'ALL IT'S MIKAILER WITH AN "ER" WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO GRASP!?
---
Did I get your attention, Mikaila? I hope so, let's see.
Mikaila, I don't like you. You've done shit that's soured my opinion of you. I'm acknowledging that now to get that out of the way. I'm not here to be two-faced about this or blow smoke up your ass.
But as one idiot who stayed in a toxic relationship to another-- I'm not making fun of you because I think I'm better. I know. Being in a relationship like that brings out some ugly shit. You resent and fear people will never forgive you. You don't know if you will forgive yourself. I'm not making fun of you because I think I'm better than you.
And it feels kinda good, being treated badly? In a weird way? When you're used to it? When you feel you kind of deserve it? It did for me too. My abuser did some fucked up shit to me. I don't know how to describe to you the strange feelings I'm left with now. Sometimes I think I finally hate her, sometimes, as pathetic as it makes me feel, I still miss her. It's a rot in you that never really goes away, but you learn to live with it. I understand that agony. I understand that anger of how fucking unfair it is.
You know my opinion of Lily. You're not going to trust me that I'm not saying all this just to get you two to break up to hurt her. Fair. Very fair, not going to pretend like it's not. But if Lily loves you, nothing I'm about to say should be an issue. She should want what's best for you, right?
Here's the rub Mikaila, it's been a few years now. I know you want out of your situation at home, but it doesn't seem like Lily's going to be able to help you with that at this point. I'm sure Lily's given you plenty of reasons as to why, and it's time to listen to her.
If you're heart's set on coming to Canada, your best bet is getting a job here. Or even, going to school. Art degrees (Here in Canada) aren't as expensive, provided you go to the right school. Even taking out a student loan for just one year to figure your shit out. I know you're in quite a bit of debt right now and don't want to get into more, but. You gotta do what you gotta do.
Here's the college I went to. Yes, your work is sufficient to potentially get admitted. Believe it or not, art school's get that illustration is a learned skill. Artists start from all different levels:
Look through the admissions requirements to see if you have the academic records to be admitted. If not, you could also consider upgrading through online classes aswell.
Again though, your best bet is to try to find employment. The cost of living isn't great here right now, but it isn't great anywhere. I doubt you'll be able to find cheaper rent in America.
Once you're here or wherever you end up, away from the chaos of your home, you might find it a lot easier to get your head around, establishing some better independence and becoming a citizen by yourself. It's a shitty process, but not as bad as the one you guys have in the States. We stan an immigrant here.
You need to look out for you, Mikaila. It's not selfish. It's not a matter of whether you "really deserve it or not." Nobody's going to save you. You're emotionally spent because of your parents, You're emotionally spent because of Lily. And it feels kind of nice how much Lily needs you. But you can't help her until you help yourself - and again, if we're all wrong and Lily really loves you, she shouldn't have a problem with you finding your way.
My own mother once told me I was "born sad." I've never not hated myself. I ate up any little bit of love and validation no matter how many bitter, razor pills that came with it too. That's just how it is for some of us.
But you know what Mikaila? Fuck em. Fuck all of them. Fuck everything. Fuck me, Mikaila. You've got one life. One body. One you. Whatever you think of her, someone's gotta fight for that poor bitch. Why not you fight for you?
Everyone's a stinky meat bag stripped down, Mikaila. Everyone's made a fool in the wake of the shit people like you and I have been through. Not everyone's going to be able to forgive everything, but everyone's not wholly past forgiveness.
I'm no better than you Mikaila. Nobody is. Some of us just get to know the worst sides of ourselves better than others.
I don't like some of the things you've done, girl. But I see you. I get it. Tell us all to eat shit. Fix your life. Don't rely on Lily to make you feel whole or to save you. To make you feel worthy. No person can do that. She could be the reincarnation of Mary Mother of God herself, and you couldn't expect that from her. Be your own advocate. If your relationship isn't toxic, it can survive you becoming a more whole you.
This asshole is rooting for you. Give me an excuse to undoomer "Mikailer." My girl needs a win.

Do you think you could do some crk self aware au stuff?? The tag is painfully dead.. if not feel free to delete lmfao
That aside, during Cookie Odyssey, I was **convinced** that soulstones we're going to come into play somehow, it was like my major theory during ch.2, and nobody could convince me otherwise but it never happened. Giving the soulstones an in lore explanation would've been fricking awesome imo..
Can we get some HCs of the player (or their in game kingdom) basically having a monopoly on soulstones while the cookies are left scratching their heads as to not only how they work, but also how the reader got what is technically a part of their souls.
Write for anyone really, idm that much. I generally like the Creme Republic though-- whether reader is still behind the screen or knows the cookies are self aware is up to you really.
That would be very cool if they actually had a lore explanation :0 I thought the soul jams were soul stones first time I heard about them tbh, they just linked together in my mind, also reader is so real for trading monies for souls
I have never written self aware before so apologies if it sucks-
Anyways enough of my ranting, hcs yes
Self aware cookies & reader
(Who has a soul stone monopoly)
Gingerbrave & friends
Gingerbrave is one of the least confused cookies regarding this, to be honest. Mainly because he doesn't really care enough/doesn't notice to really question it. You gather these little trinkets that make him stronger! Cudos to you from this boy.
Wizard, on the other hand, is confused as hell of this process. Where do these stones come from? Are they truly linked to the Cookie's souls? Does that mean that they are not fully themself and/or complete until they are fully leveled, even if they only materialize with twenty of them?
Wizard just wants to know. He has asked you multiple times over, getting confused by your answers and delving in deeper whenever he can. Exactly WHERE do they come from? He's obsessed with finding out by this point.
Strawberry really doesn't mind. She's a little confused where they come from, but, like Gingerbrave, she doesn't question it too much. She does like to occasionally made theories, but she doesn't really like to share them.
If you're good friends with her she may share some of her theories with you, but none of the wild ones, and only if you ask.
Clotted Cream
WHOLE ASS ENGROSSED. He wants to know everything about the soulstones. Where do they come from? How would one even 'farm' these and how does farming a soul even work?
More specifically, he is trying to find a connection between soulstones and souljam. They do almost the same thing and have very similar names- they're both linked to the soul, and make cookies stronger.
He has spent many restless nights awake thinking about this.
Much like Wizard in that he's harassing you for answers, but he does asks questions more subtly.
Clotted Cream has flipped a few tables (with occasional assistance from Financier) before, mainly when he gets annoyed enough at not having a verifiable answer to this.
Financier
It is what it is. She accepts this. She's got dragged into the theorizing by Clotted Cream.
Chilling, mainly. She doesn't really mind not care. Likely to thank you for doing your best to collect them and to make everyone, including her, stronger.
Black Raisin
Intrigued by the sparkliness of most of these soulstones. Much like a crow, she is attracted to shiny objects. Her crow friends are too.
Black Raisin has a small hoard of soulstones that she's occasionally found, of all different sorts of cookies. The sparkler the soulstone, the likelier she and/or her crows are to snatch and hoard. If the soulstone is just a pretty rock then she'll also hoard those too.
If you really need a soulstone she will likely give one to you. How often and/or how many depends on her connection to you.
She's farming them with you by this point.
Oyster
Yoinks you.
She wants to have conversations about this. She wants to know what they are and where they come from. She will offer you tea and scones while the two of you converse.
When she first found out that her stones are Super Epic, she was very proud of herself.
Probably sends you back with some every time you come visit her.
Captain Caviar
Doesn't believe they exist. They're just rocks. Nothing more.
He will stand by his claim to the death. This WILL be the hill he died on. Captain Caviar does not believe soulstones exist.
Probably has made some propaganda about soulstones being fake. Socks, hats, jackets, you name it, he's likely made it with the words "Soulstones do not exist, numbskull" in big letter on it. Except shirts.
Pure Vanilla
Very much like Oyster. Will likely join in on your conversation time and/or will invite the two of you over for his homemade tea and treats!
Most likely to understand how Soulstones work due to him wielding Souljam, which is the most similar thing to them. Also the fact he has lived for a long time and has gathered many knowledge on the subject.
Probably has a book on the subject somewhere.
He likes to sit and watch the Ferris Wheel Landmark rotate. He likes the motion.

Gravity Falls Revival Prospects Teased by Disney TV Boss (Exclusive)
By Russ Milheim Posted: June 05, 2024
(From "The Direct", original article linked above.) While Gravity Falls may have ended in 2014 on the Disney Channel, fans are still hoping for a revival—thankfully, that doesn't look too far out of reach, at least according to an update from a top Disney executive. The series may have ended in 2014, but since then, creator Alex Hirsch has published several books in the universe. This included Gravity Falls: Tales of the Strange and Unexplained, Lost Legends, and Journal 3. In fact, another book is even coming out later this year, called The Book of Bill, which tells the story of the show from the perspective of the big bad. However, while books are great and all, a continuation of the show would absolutely thrill the franchise’s fanbase. In an exclusive interview with The Direct’s Russ Milheim while promoting the release of Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation, Executive Vice President of Television Animation and Disney Branded Television Meredith Roberts gave a hopeful update on a possible Gravity Falls revival. She confirmed that they’re “in conversations with [creator] Alex [Hirsch]” before ending with an encouraging “never say never:” “You know, we're in conversations with Alex. He's about to publish a book with Disney on his project. And we also do some shorts. So never say never.”
What Could Be Next for Gravity Falls? While the update is a small one, plenty of fans will be thrilled to see even a slight glimmer of home. Sure, the new book releases are exciting, but not nearly as much as having the show back. If the show were to return, creator Alex Hirsch would likely want to introduce a new threat other than Bill. Admittedly, that's a high bar to clear. Perhaps a continuation would also age its leading characters, Dipper and Mabel. However, having older leads could transform Gravity Falls into a much different, more adult-based narrative. Either way, there's plenty of demand from fans to see the world of Gravity Falls again. Hopefully, that's something Disney can capitalize on sooner rather than later.
Since this is going around, and I haven't seen it posted here... well, here you go. What does it mean? Nobody knows! It may not mean anything. It's hard to tell whether this is just a Disney exec making noises for promotional purposes or what. I honestly would take this with a grain of salt until or unless Alex himself posts or tweets about it.
(My own thoughts: to be worthwhile, I strongly feel that any new Gravity Falls content would need to have the involvement of Alex Hirsch AND a good chunk of the other folks who worked on the show. People like Rob Renzetti, and others like Matt Braly, Alonso Ramirez Ramos, Emmy Ciceriega, Dana Terrace, Matt Chapman, Jeff Rowe, etc. etc. It would probably be difficult to impossible to get everyone back, unless it was for a very limited project, like a TV-movie or something.
I'm not saying they would ALL need to be back, and I do also think you could find some new folks to work on the project who would be very good replacements for some of the original crew who might not be able to come back. But, I've said many, many times: Gravity Falls was not the work of only one man. I respect the hell out of Alex Hirsch, but, the show that we love had contributions from a lot of other people that went into creating the final product. If what we want is something as good as the original show, then I think it would need input from those people.
And even then, we still have to keep in mind that it can be difficult to recapture lightning in a bottle. Even if they got back a majority of the original team, it's 10 years later (ish), and all of those folks have been through a lot, and most haven't been working with each other. There's a groove that the crew of the show got into at the time, and they'd have to recapture that groove. It would be different in at least SOME ways. Maybe a GOOD different! A lot would depend on the enthusiasm they had for doing it.)
So, we'll see! Keep an eye out, though, for more news.

I mean, forget Jimin stans for a sec. Even tkkrs and Jungkook stans think Jungkook doesn't like Jimin. They are convinced. And the fandom until the very end thought Tae-kook would enlist together and were surprised when it was Jikook enlisting together.
Everyone out there acknowledges that Tae likes Jimin, they acknowledge Suga/RM/jhope/Jin like Jimin. But Jungkook?
Never seen anyone in the fandom question if Jungkook likes Tae or not. Or if he likes the other members or not. But when it comes to Jimin, even non shippers aren't very sure about how Jungkook feels. I have tons of non shipper army moots on my second account and most of them think JK isn't close with Jimin.
If there are so many people who don't think Jungkook likes Jimin even as a friend and bandmate, then that's on Jungkook, his behaviour, his words, his actions towards Jimin.
Cause no one says Jimin doesn't like Jungkook. Jimim has always made it clear he likes all the members.
JK doesn't have to prove anything to Jimin stans. I agree. But if he can't prove to Jimin he likes him, then that's a problem. I don't blame Jimin for detaching himself and going about his path.
Yea they focus on whether or not he likes Jimin because that issue was once a big deal between Jimin and Jungkook.
Had Jimin not vocalized his concerns I don't think anyone would have had an occasion to use that against them to begin with.
He is the one who kept saying JK didn't like him and what not. And to me it's no different from Yoongi who was also saying he liked Jimin but Jimin didn't really like him back- and yet no one goes, welp Jimin doesn't like Yoongi let's go to war.
And perhaps if Jimin was the type of boy to shove Yoongi around, Crack jokes about his height it would have fueled this whole idea that Jimin didn't like Yoongi.
Jimin didn't have to "prove" He liked Yoongi. Literally all he did was be himself with yoongi to dispel that notion. because he is a much more calmer gentler graceful person by nature nobody makes a big deal about their dynamic the way they do or did with Jikook.
If you ask me, I think that whole this person doesn't like me or that person doesn't like me was just an immature attempt to get attention and to get their needs of affection met cos the only way some people feel they can get their needs met is through toxic manipulation tactics like these.
They were young and didn't know any better and that behavior is so heavily normalized in their own pop culture.
And we're going to ignore a whole conversation had between Tae and Kook in soop with Tae literally saying he wanted JK to treat him a certain way but Jk refused to when they were younger. Isn't that evidence shit was wrong between them too?
Just because they had a mature way of addressing their dynamic later on doesn't mean it didn't happen with them either back in the day. They just didn't take about it like Jimin did.
I'm sure however Jimin felt about Jungkook's attitude towards him, he could have handled it better than he did but they were of course just teenagers and hadn't developed the communication skills required to foster a healthy dynamic.
Whatever anyone thinks of Jungkook, Jimin is the only member to have openly voiced out and questioned him on his behavior towards him without mincing words. The execution may have been wrong but he did vocalize his needs to him regardless when the members only brought it up when he did something nice for others especially Jimin.
The others when they talked about this would do so indirectly or passive aggressively such as when they said he acts anti social with them, wouldn't get them birthday presents. Tae said passively that JK ignored him when they cams stopped rolling and yet no one makes a big deal out of that right?
In recent times, when they were talking about Jungkook not posting or gifting members Jimin was the only one who said he would punch him in the throat if he didn't do anything for him either. Yet it seems the others weren't too happy about that either.
And you are right, no one is hyper fixating on these moments and blowing it out of proportions except when it comes to jikook because Jikook is all that matters to most homophobic people. And perhaps because Jimin draws attention to those issues when he voices them out.
I really don't care about people's perception of anyone.
Does it matter how people are perceiving them if these people are consistently proven wrong about them over and over???
Oh you thought Tae Kook were going to serve together? Jikook went and now what??
You thought Tae Kook were the closest, turns out it's Jikook and now what??
Yall not tired of being wrong????
Must be exhausting
Hope you stab your toe

So you want to learn to swordfight.
The most common question I see in historical fencing forums and on social media is "how do you get into HEMA?"
If you're like "what's HEMA?" -- that's Historical European Martial Arts -- it's the study and recreation of historical martial arts through weapons manuals written at the time! Many people take a scholarly approach to it -- focused on reading and recreating martial systems -- but many take a sport approach, because martial techniques are designed to be used martially! This means we're fencing -- swordfighting! Think Olympic fencing with bigger swords and slightly different rules, and more colorful gear. In this post, I will be more focused on how to get into the sporty, competition-focused side of the hobby.
Historical Fencing is a martial art! This is a really common confusion from folks who are more familiar with more well-known sword-loving communities. It's not LARPING (though I love a good LARP) -- we aren't playing characters or scenarios, and we don't dress up (usually-- rapier fencers love poofy pants, lol). It's not stage combat or SCA (although there's some community overlap)-- most of us are less interested in recreating periods or aesthetics from history than we are in learning to fence, and compete, with our weapons of choice. Although LARPing, SCA, and stage combat are all cousin hobbies to WMA, the closest analogue to Historical Fencing as a hobby is... Modern Fencing! Kendo and blade-focused Eastern Martial arts, like Kenjutsu, are also much more like historical fencing than SCA is.
Whether you're considering starting longsword fencing because your favorite author uses it as a reference, rapier fencing because it's the coolest weapon in your favorite video game, or just because you think it'd be sick as hell (it is), here's a (noncomprehensive) FAQ for becoming your very own sword lesbian/broadsword bisexual/greatsword gay/spear queer.
I don't know if there are any classes near me, where do I look?
The best place to start is the Hema Alliance Club Finder. You can use it to look up classes and sparring groups in your immediate geographic area.
2. The Club closest to me doesn't offer the weapon I'm interested in. Should I still go?
Yes. Most clubs are "longsword" clubs, but it’s really rare to find a historical fencer that exclusively fences a single system or weapon. Even if nobody at the club fences the system you're interested in, you can 1) probably talk them into it and 2)fencing not-your-weapon will still make you better at your-weapon. My club is a "longsword" club, but we have fencers who regularly do saber, rapier, rapier and dagger, messer, messer and buckler, side sword and buckler, katana, broadsword, spear, and even montante (greatsword). Just ask!
3) The nearest club is too far away. Can I learn just by studying manuals online?
Yes and no. I don’t recommend doing lots of solo practice without having attended a class. It's a good way to engrain bad habits, as well as avoid fencing altogether ("i cant spar yet, my form isn't perfect/ive learned bad habits" or worse, "i don’t need to spar, i know all the manuals inside and out"). This is a really important point: LEARNING TO MOVE A SPECIFIC WEAPON IS LESS THAN 30% OF FENCING, and you will be moving through guards and forms like a pro with only a few months of intentional practice. Your cut form can be picture-perfect and you will still get wrecked in a bout if you don't have experience. Most of fencing is understanding timing, distance, your psychology and your opponent's, and knowing from experience which positions you can get to from what other positions. You can only learn to fence by... fencing. Now, if your thing is studying arms manuals and replicating them picture-perfect, which some people are into, more power to you! But it won't be winning you any tournaments, and I am writing this assuming you want to do the sporty/swordfighty side of things.
4) wait, there are books on swordfighting?
Yes. Check Wiktenauer. Most of them are free. My club does Joachim Meyer; Fiore and Lichtenauer are also fairly common for longsword.
5) I really can't get to classes, though. Am I just out of luck?
Is there an Olympic fencing group nearby? How about lightsaber fencing? No, seriously. Kendo? Boxing? All of these things train the exact skills that are difficult to learn in HEMA fencing -- distance, timing, reaction speed, fight psychology. Some of the best beginners I've ever sparred came from lightsaber, or kendo. If there is no group nearby at all, pick up a copy of Meyer's art of combat and a 12-inch length of steel pipe (it's the same weight as a longsword) to learn how to move the sword (do NOT hit people with this, oh my god), go to kendo for a few months, and you'll be in decent shape for WMA sparring when you can get to a group.
The reason HEMA is fun is because of the community! Even if it's a really intense commute, try to make it to class at least once or twice. You will enjoy it more, you will learn more, and you will fence better. Don't just do it all on your own! Most of the people in these groups have fallen into the common mistakes so YOU don't have to. Utilize them!
6) What do I do if there are no people to spar with nearby?
Why don't you start a group? Purpleheart armory sells foam swords for like $50 each. Get some friends, get everybody a mask and a boffer and get to it! This is how HEMA as a hobby started -- people messing around with foam trainers and a copy of a 16th century arms manual.
6.5) I'm sparring outside of a club -- should we use synthetics, wood, or steel?
Dude, just use foam until you can get a complete steel kit. Keep in mind: synthetics can be as dangerous as steel, wood is MORE dangerous than steel, and steel requires full safety kit for full speed sparring. Don't break your fingers because you wanted to look cool. These things HURT, and can cause serious injury unless used with intention.
7) should I buy a sword?
If you're with a HEMA school, they will have their own cadence for buying gear, and the sword is usually the last thing you get. You should only buy a federschwert (training sword) once you know your style and sword preference. If you're not following a club cadence or planning to attend a tournament, Do Not buy a steel weapon. A full steel spar kit costs like $800 dollars, and without a full safety kit all you have is a $300 wall ornament nobody can use.
And don't buy a blunt, please. Beginners love blunts because they look like "real swords". They also break bones. Federschwerts are standard in the community and nobody is going to think you’re cool for showing up with a weapon designed to snap someone's humerus in half. If you're that twisted about it, Sigi forge sells schiltless feders that look like "real" swords (a feder is a real sword, but I digress).
8) what safety gear should I buy?
Every club and tournament has its own recommendations. Look at the Mid-Continental HEMA Open rules for a very standard list of gear reqs for a reputable tournament. Generally, in this order, it's:
-mask (don't point a sword at anyone without one of these on)
-chest plastron (for preventing unfortunate accidents that might send shards through the lungs)
-gorget (rigid or semi-rigid)
-hardshell gloves (don't do lacrosse gloves or other soft gloves for longsword, you'll break your fingers)
-puncture-resistant jacket
-forearms/elbows
-shins/knees
-back of head protector (concussions bad)
-pants/skirt
-sword
I probably missed something but these are the most common questions-- fellow HEMAists or interested parties, lmk if I missed anything! Happy fencing!

So I, as an alter in a semiverbal system and therefore sermiverbal myself, will! :D
Welcome to ways our system communicates that are not voices!
@dei-rising
Music. One of the first ways we learned to communicate was through music, songs, and beats! Sometimes certain melodies and lyrics help us communicate what we feel better than words do. Obvious enough, but when it comes to communicating through music, it's a bit more complicated than that. We have music channels with everybody who we talk to so we could "call each other out" or send songs to each other that we think others might relate to, which is our way of saying "we hear and see you." Our alters also associate with songs, and sometimes, when one of them is coming over, we can hear the song play in our head. Or sometimes even whole backstories and memories can be explained in songs and work the same! Our robots are, by far, the most interesting. Our co-host, also an alexithymia holder, has a feature "installed" in them that plays songs that explain their emotions since they can't do it on their own. Not out loud, only they can hear it, but it's effective and helpful for them to identify what they feel. We express whole stories and personalities through music.
Feelings. Easy one, or so it seems, but still needs to be explained to a lot of people as we figured it out. For us, it feels like feelings are being passed on, and as though you got the opportunity to, say... touch a ball with something inside, but there's a capsule that doesn't let you touch it or feel it on your hands. We're dissociated from the feeling and would forget it when it's taken away, but we won't forget the understanding that we got as to what it is. Sometimes, that capsule breaks, and we're covered in sticky emotions that are not ours, and it's hard to get it all off, especially since it breaks in so many pieces. Like pieces of slime that you keep finding all over the apartment and clothes after you drop it. Some of it may never go away, hidden in the darkest corners of your mind, but there nonetheless. A lot of the times, the feelings we get from other alters help us identify who's coming. Some of their energies feel cold, dark, and low for some reason, some are completely different. Those same energies, but mixed with feelings of excitement and satisfaction come when we're scrolling through same Tumblr and see something that alter likes. They basically go, "Reblog this! Save this one for me!!"
Images. The amount of times I was talking to someone in the system or outside of it and had images shoved into my head for one reason or another... I can't express just how much lmao. Whether it be memories or images of inner world places... sometimes, when one alter fronts, they ask for memories of what happened before they fronted and have them shoved in their head by the previous fronter. We don't communicate via images much. But there are definitely times when it's easier to just shove something in another alter's head than have to explain it, especially if you already explained it once.
Videogames. Don't even get me started on how much we used FNaF as a way to communicate and understand the world around us. It wasn't even about making others understand it as much as it was for us to understand ourselves. Explain the world around us to ourselves when nobody else seemed to be able to. We always felt different from others and had a different langauge than others, our favorite games, especially FNaF, became that language that helped us describe to ourselves the things we couldn't describe verbally. All those "silly made-up storylines" that typical people would enjoy as a show and move on, but that we would put in our own small world (which we now know as our language and our inner world).
Inner world sign language. Or just simple inner world language that is inaudible or impossible to translate to the outer world. We have our own sign language and regular made-up languages, and for both, we don't hear voices! Actually for the most part, we feel emotions, since our main inner world langauge is very much emotion-based. We can't hear what another alter is saying, but we understand them perfectly clear. It's an amazing way to communicate emotions. Same with sign-language, except we also have movements that we also may not see but understand. Many times, when I was mute in literally every way possible, somebody else would watch me sign and translate it for others around me. Some inner world (including ours) also have telepathy, which technically counts as voices since the perosn is making their voice known in your head, but some may count it as nonverbal communication.
Looks and body language. You know those action movies or books where the main character and their sidekick give each other those "special looks" and silently understand each other? Some of us who have spent a very long time around each other in the inner world do the same! It's probably only happening because we share a head, but it's really effective when you're talking to someone outside the system. I (host) could give our co-host The Look,a nd they'd know exactly what I want from or want to say to them.
Co-consciousness/co-fronting. The co-con feeling of sharing memories, feelings, and emotions (and others). That passive influence that you get from another perosn in co. That's also, at least for us, nonverbal communication! Cause when it does come to talking to someone outside the system, or even isnide, you may sometimes need to know the other person's boundaries or limits or memories. What best way to find that out than to aks that person to step in co and feel waht they're feeling or remember what they remember and better understand how to go about the situation or what to say, amr?

Over the past few weeks, I have seen a lot of people struggling with the fact that the parties aren't just immediately on team "stop the deities from being destroyed".
The irony is that these same people got upset with Orym, Laudna, and Ashton for just blindly following/joining this assault on the Temple of the Dawnfather, but on the flipside, want them to just blindly follow the path of those that want to stop the deities from being destroyed.
We, as viewers, know that deities being destroyed would be bad, but we have to separate what we know, and what the players at the table know, from what the characters.
This isn't like campaign 1 or 2 where you had characters with strong connections to the deities. This is very much a party that doesn't. They don't know anything about the deities and what they do and how they integrate themselves into the world, and because of that, they have zero idea of why it would be good to get rid of them or why it would be bad.
If you don't know anything about something, you can't make an informed decision one way or the other, and that's what we're seeing.
Honestly, I think Orym's response is the most realistic... that he has zero idea whether or not it's a good idea to get rid of the deities, but what he does know is that Ludinous, the person behind all this, is a horrible person and that gives him the answer he needs, gives Laudna and Ashton the answer they need.
Deni$e, Prism, and Bor'dor though? They don't have any experience with the deities, nor do they have any experience with Ludinous and so again, why would we expect them to blindly follow?
Bor'dor, does in a way, blindly follow, but I see it as less of a "blindly follows" and more of a "he listened to Orym, has no idea what's happening, but trusts Orym" situation.
Prism wants more information, wants to know as much as she can, and that's perfectly valid. How can she make a decision on something that she knows nothing about?
Deni$e's response makes sense too. She doesn't know anything about the deities, nobody can truly know for sure whether getting rid of the deities is bad or good (we can all guess that it would be bad, but we can't say with absolute certainty) so all she can do is put one foot in front of the other and deal with what's in front of her in the moment.
Personally, this storyline thrills me because it's offering so many different perspectives we've never seen before... but above all, the most interesting, and difficult, aspect of this storyline is watching the characters battle between wanting to do the right thing, but also realizing they might also have to do the wrong thing in order to do the right thing.

In the dark timeline, what do you think would happen if Neil Gaiman wrote it so Aziraphale and Crowley didn’t reunite and reconcile in S3? 👀
In the infinite sunshine timeline, how would everyone react if S3 was just South Downs fluff?
Finally, what’s a plot twist nobody would see coming?
OK OK putting my good omens thoughts under the cut because we're gonna be here a while. strap in.
-Dark timeline where they don't reunite and reconcile is admittedly VERY hard to envision. They've always relied on each other in some capacity whether they like it or not (literally their FIRST INTERACTION before the beginning is Crowley needing Aziraphale's help). I'd imagine Aziraphale would have a LOT to sort out on his own, and it would not be easy at all for him, if even possible given the circumstances. He'd have the whole Second Coming to handle (and also hope he can somehow thwart), all while Heaven is likely watching like a HAWK, all while he wouldn't want to be doing any of it at all. For the first time in thousands of years he'd be truly alone, and I doubt he'd have a plan that would feel reliable. It would be awful. There's only so much a single angel can do. The Book of Life is also a very real threat. Falling is also something he's still worried about. He'd have to get VERY lucky. I doubt he could just sway the Metatron into a different opinion (although I'm sure he'll try). I think he's pretty fucked unless God were to intervene and look out for him.
Not that he'd be satisfied in the end, even if the world was saved and everything was fine. He'd never forgive himself if he didn't reconcile with Crowley by the end of things, I'd imagine.
I also think Crowley would never shake the feeling of something being wrong, even if Aziraphale doesn't reach out to him for help (which... come on. He will. Where else could he go?). He always expected a "big one", he just doesn't know when or where it'll happen, but obviously Heaven would need Aziraphale for SOMETHING. They wanted to erase Gabriel's memories because he refused to do Armageddon 2.0! Do you really think that's gonna stop them? That they won't just try again? Their whole deal is that they're insistent on this. They won't let up. That's not gonna change no matter who's in charge, and he knows it. I can't see Crowley giving up on Earth until it's too late, maybe abandoning ship last second as to avoid his own demise, but it's a question as to what he could piece together on his own, whether or not Hell would still tell him things, etc when it comes to what he'd actually try to achieve. After all, you can't thwart what you don't know the details of. It would be a lost cause. (Personally, I don't see him becoming a Duke of Hell either; it's something I can enjoy in fanworks but I don't see him as the type to take that deal even to 'spite Aziraphale' in canon. Not unless he hoped to get intel? But I think he'd much rather not have them watching him.)
Could either of them thwart the Second Coming on their own or with others besides each other? Very, very unlikely, and it would be a very close call, and probably still entail other sorts of disaster. Could they do it without crossing paths at least once? Also very unlikely. (After all, the entire driving force of S1/the book is how many people come together for Armageddon in attempts to either start or stop it). If they work at this and want to stand a chance they're doomed to reunite, and therefore, doomed to reconcile. They would quite literally have to be exterminated or wiped out of the Book of Life in order to never reunite (and I just don't think this is that kind of story). Make of this what you will.
(I also can't see them just being able to go back to before their feelings were revealed to each other, either. There's no pretending it isn't there, anymore. Crowley said as much. No more hiding. I don't think this doomed their relationship going forward, even if it may take a while to fully smooth things over.)
TL;DR They'd fight like hell for Earth, probably wouldn't be able to succeed without the other, probably die trying anyways and with many regrets regarding each other. Best case scenario God personally intervenes out of the blue and mercifully decides to thwart Heaven's own plan but they both still spend the rest of eternity thinking of what could've been. They'd hate it. They'd miss each other SO BAD and would (fail to) pretend they didn't.
-Pure South Downs fluff would be such tonal whiplash lmao and would also feel kinda unearned? I think fluffier moments shine brightest when the characters have had to work for it a little and Aziraphale/Crowley still have a LOT of problems that need to be sorted in order to be able to be happy together. (Also it's just... not gonna happen. You can't tease the Second Coming and then skip past it to an "everything's fine" future.) The entire point of S3 for me is we KNOW where they'll end up- we want to see HOW. It's not a story without stakes and consequences and a bit of risk, at least when it comes to Good Omens. That isn't to say that they need to be tortured or whatever in S3 to feel earned, but we need to see a lot of things get wrapped up (Second Coming, Aziraphale needs Heaven to leave him alone + needs to be able to work through his complicated feelings regarding it, Crowley needs for Hell to stop calling on him, they need to be able to safely communicate what they want, they need to talk about the kiss, etc). We want to see these!! We can't get these without a bit of hurt. I wanna see them break free more than I want pure fluff. That's just me though.
(With that being said, I hope that at least they get a BIT of time next season to just... be together. Happily. And do some of the things they couldn't before. And by a 'bit of time' I mean 'I sure do hope it's more than like 2 minutes before the credits roll but I will take literally anything I can get at this point'. There's potential here!!! So much of it!!! And they deserve it!!! It's just not the show's tone for it to take up that much time. I'd miss the chaos too much I think, and I'd miss the catharsis of seeing a character finally getting what they want in real time. Just a BIT of fluff at the end though, all I ask. This could insta-kill me.)
TL;DR Bit too much!!! I want them to bicker!!! In a way that's framed comically!!! This is a comedy show!!! And I want to watch them get through hard times!!! I just also want them to make out afterwards and also save the world and stuff. Then I'll be satisfied.
-Honestly I haven't thought much about possible plot twists in S3? I take the Final Fifteen pretty "straightforward" (I don't think the coffee is spiked, I don't think they stopped time, I don't think they body swapped, I don't think the Metatron will be "secretly good", etc) so I don't think there's really enough to go off of at the moment for me when it comes to the plot itself, let alone plot twists for it. I will say though if God is in S3 I will lose my shit; I have a feeling She wouldn't be "caring" but not 100% pure dark evil either if we DO see Her. I don't think She won't be what most fans expect. (Of course, that's just in the hypothetical that She appears. Who knows?)
TL;DR Where is God I'm scared
It took me over an hour to draft this response my bad
#z.txt#fandomflux33#ask box#nobody can ask me about this show without getting literal essays i apologize </3

My take that nobody asked for on why the canes look so bad right now (this is going to be long)
Don Waddell is an idiot whose cares for this team don't go beyond making money, which is ironic considering his decisions will be costing him the very thing he's after. With this, our off season was atrocious; wasting 8mil on an unneeded defenseman, keeping old and washed up goalies, and refusing to let go of dead weight (Pesce among others) were the final nails in the coffin
Rod Brind'Amour is too stubborn for his own good. He very rarely shakes up the lines, convinced doing the same thing will eventually work, and when he finally realizes it doesn't he changes things up so much it completely fucks with the chemistry. He also hasn't changed our style of play even after other teams have figured it out
Something is off in the locker room. Whether it be because the players are pissed we're losing, I don't know. Very few guys have consistently shown up (Noesen, Jarvis, Bunting, Svech, maybe Aho but even he's been quiet, sometimes KK, are the only exceptions), it's literally like watching a train wreck
We have no leadership. Rod has lost the players, as seen by his blatant criticism to the media because it's the only way he can think of to get them to listen. With this, Staal should have had the C taken away awhile ago. He's useless except for faceoffs, and I've seen more accountability from Noesen and it's only his second (third?) year with the Canes
Jumping off of #3, the players have completely lost confidence with who they have in goal. Whether it's PK or Raanta in the crease, they've stopped taking risks out of fear it will come back against them with the other team scoring a rebound. Goaltending is not our main problem, but it's certainly a big one and plays a huge role in loss of confidence from the players in front. Saying Andersen will fix this is also just wrong because he's not exactly stellar in goal either (even when he's healthy; go back to #1 and read it again)
We have no AHL affiliate. We kept drawing and sending back players too much which resulted in getting dropped. This plays a big role in developing our farm system, and while we do have great players in the works we refuse to draw them up when now would be the perfect time, because how worse can we get? Again, coaching and management thinks that doing the same thing over and over again will magically give a different result. Newsflash: it won't.
Overall, this team has many reasons to blame for their shit performance. Management, locker room atmosphere, poor goaltending, and lack of true leadership has brought us down to where we are now.

Lys, can I ask what made you decide to develop your spiritual gifts? (even despite being among people that shun it😢)
I’ve found out not recently that I have gifts that let me know more about my future. Two tarot readers (through personal readings) had said that I should develop them. But I’m not sure whether I want to..
It’s nice to be aware of the consequences of my decisions, but they made me feel over-conscious and over-anxious..
I’m sure my Guides and Angels meant well. Perhaps they want to ease my path. But I can’t see the light in these gifts yet :(
Hey, sure!
Let me tell you something first. You know, I think it all comes down to realizing what you really want out of your life and who you want to be and what you want to do with those gifts (and if you think they can be part of your life and how/when).
It's not an ease and immediate decision: many people also decide to close off from their gifts for any reason, maybe they also don't feel ready or okay with them (maybe don't don't fully understand them nor want to) and rather have a different type of life which ofc is valid as long as they decide with a light heart about it. Another reason could be because of the fear of being judged (which btw is not on them but depends on issues and fears that belongs solely to the person judging them and how "scared" they are of the subject, since we're speaking about spirituality rn. it depends on the environment they grew up in and again their own triggers, not on the gifted/judged person). But ofc it's not easy to deal with this anyway, it requires time whatever the decision is.
Your premonitory gifts do carry a lot with them, maybe not just as for what concern your life (Idk). And you have to take time to realize the conditions under which you want (if you even want, ofc) to develop them and understand them. It's a lot, and nobody should blame you if you don't feel ready (which doesn't mean you won't in the future: you can wait for a better moment if you feel safer to not navigate that world right now). You can take your time to heal yourself first, and see where this anxiety/fear related with your gifts come from (fear of not being able to "possess" them, not being enough, being judged and left out....) and try to take care of you now, no matter if you one day will embark on a deeper journey with them or not. You said it too, you can't see the light in those gifts now and that's totally fine. Don't pressure yourself. I think at times we do get messages and realize something also about our future but it's never to scare us or pressure us into doing that specific thing. I think now it was just time to let you know about this chance, so that you can work on also what's related with your gifts to make your life better (whether you'll use them or not). You're still in charge of your life, you're not obliged to do anything (as when you read pacs and you don't resonate/agree with some messages). There's just this chance, and it doesn't mean that if you don't accept it now it will disappear: we're also talking about your gifts, so they will stay with you anyway. Take a breath and just let things happen as they are supposed to. Always follow yourself and what you feel is right for you at any given time.
For me I think it was different (everyone has their story, we can't compare). I always had clairs since when I was a kid, but never really knew what it was about. I never really paid too much attention to spirituality (cause here it's not supported), just did my mandatory religious stuff as my parents wanted me to, and it all stopped there. Never really practiced much until a time I started to get a little closer again to what's above (especially after a huge loss). I have always been interested in astrology though cause I found it fascinating. Never digged too much into it but the basic synastry aspects were an occasional hobby of mine. I am generally a very curious person tbh and I think my 8th house stellium + some scorpio placements always pushed me towards "the darker side" as well. And probably also my Guides did, even if I wasn't aware of them. But I got more into spirituality by chance and suddenly. I started learning more also here on tumblr, joining free games/readings (also for fun), trying to understand... it felt like fated. And very natural too. I started to practice more and try out more divinations methods (as I felt too) and grow more in contact with my Guiudes. I didn't really made a decision, it just happened. And despite I had to take some breaks cause of my healing journey (and huge tower moment connected with this long eclipse period of the last 2 years) I always had the need to come back and try to get better and help more people. So yeah, I just felt it was right for me, it was what I always wanted to do. When I was a child my dream was to save lives. I couldn't become a doctor nor a vet, it wasn't my real call (I was/am also too sensitive for that probably). I turned onto something else, leaning onto nature and art. I learned one can save lives in many different ways, and I think that also trying to lend a hand to people and helping them back up from the ground by offering support and guidance (to a certain limit ofc as at a certain point you need to ask a professional/medical figure), but also relief, chill/fun and understanding, can be one of them. I have also got readings (well, happened to read readings) in which I was told that what I had experienced in my life was also to help me understand others' lives and try to help them out. So I'm just trying to follow what has always been my call, no matter the triggers about it (those are just up to me and my own personal life which I am responsible to heal).
Hope this somewhat helps you. Again, do not feel pressured in doing anything you don't feel okay doing. Not just in your everyday life, but also in your spiritual one. Take your time to understand it all (and yourself) and take care<3

do you mean you feel alienated around self diagnosed autistic people? (aka 99% of the online autistic community) because if so I completely agree. I'm not sure if you have access to it but I go to public therapy for disabled adulta (if you're over 18) and in my group there is a bunch of autistic/adhd people. we usually talk about medication, funny stories about therapy and experiences with growing up autistic and such. it's pretty relieving, and completely different from speaking to autistic people online, which just feels like talking to neurotypicals
No I feel alienated around autistic people. And people in general. It's for a lot of reasons tbh, not JUST being autistic, but I've definitely have had grievances with the autistic community online for some time now. This is because there's this prevalent idea that what does or doesn't work for one autistic person must be true for every autistic person, which inevitably leads to alienation. I'm considered weird and offputting even by the standards of other autistic people. This isn't an uncommon experience for me.
Also, part of my alienation comes from the general politics of the online autistic community. I call myself Asperger's and high-functioning, which while I totally get why other people don't call themselves that, it's just kinda what I grew up with and what works for me. Also being trans on top of that, and hearing so many autistic people talk about how they personally don't understand gender, whereas I didn't have much of an issue with it (I view it through a strictly neuroscientific lens; I don't do well with metaphors and vague feelings). Being told I can't say "retarded" even though I've been CALLED retarded, not to mention directly threatened (I was nearly shot lmao) over being autistic. A mixture of oppression olympics among autists, and also 'higher-functioning' autistic people speaking over 'lower-functioning' autistic people. My stims also don't get represented much (I don't really flap, I've always been more of a rocker/bouncer/vocal stimmer) and I don't fit into the "good autist" role that a lot of people-- both neurodivergent and neurotypical-- want out of me. All this to not even mention how I get alienated for my other forms of neurodivergence, with people in general being extremely ableist towards those with OCD and dissociative disorders.
All I'm saying is it's not self-diagnosed autists who make my life harder. Not when me and most of my family has had to resort to self-diagnosis due to doctors not listening to us or just a simple inability to even see a doctor due to a lack of money and time. Actually, most of the people I click with are the self-diagnosed "I think I might be neurodivergent" people-- whether that's autism, ADHD, or some other various neurodivergence. The self-diagnosed people are my immediate family, as well as my friends who had to figure out they're neurodivergent because nobody else told them, or gaslit them over it. We're pro-selfdx here, and honestly therapy is the least of my concerns right now, at least when it comes to autism. I don't need therapy for being autistic. I don't need therapy to teach me how to be normal. I need therapy to teach me how to live. Y'know, tackling my ACTUALLY problematic disorders, like my severe OCD and CPTSD and what I believe to be some form of OSDD. ADHD... yeah I just need meds for that, it is what it is. But I've been in therapy SEVERAL times for my autism, with people who were supposedly specialized in it, and even they didn't really know what to do with me. So shrug lmao.
For the record I am professionally diagnosed with autism. I'm actually self-diagnosed with most of the other mental health issues I occasionally talk about here (ADHD, OCD, OSDD, et cetera). I'd LOVE to get diagnosed but we're just not in a financial situation where we can rn. I don't like throwing self-diagnosed people under the bus-- more often than not they're just trying to understand themselves and genuinely don't have the ability to access proper resources. I don't really think of the cringe "faking disorders for attention and spreading misinformation" people when I hear about self-diagnosis, personally. I think about people who have been gaslit and told either that they're weird/bad children their whole lives, or even the reverse where they're told they're gifted, before they begin to struggle and then are promptly abandoned. I went through the latter more than the former.
#anon#asks#tw r slur#this is all okay to reblog btw I'm fine with being open about my mental health#I could've been a lot meaner in this response I have some fucking choice words but tl;dr#I'm pro-self diagnosis. I wasn't bitching about self-diagnosed people. You can't thrust this onto some nebulous boogeyman.#And I don't like when people do that with my personal posts and take them as some way of validating their own opinion.#I don't like other autistic people. Other autistic people have been ableist and alienating towards me. Many of which were diagnosed.#And I don't like other people *period* because I have various other mental illnesses both related and unrelated to the trauma of growing up#in neurotypical society.#Okay? ok

I've noticed the historical accuracy purists avoid talking about The Great, I suspect because the show is very anachronistic so it's silly to complain about the costumes not being accurate plus they're just fantastic costumes all around and are considered as such so complaining about them would not be popular. This isn't Little Women 2019 or Bridgerton.
Again, for me, I don't really care about historical accuracy in costumes at all. I've seen "accurate" costumes that look like dog shit because a) focus was put on accuracy, but care was not taken to ensure that the budget wasn't compromised by that pursuit b) they do not translate well onscreen c) honestly? Not all looks are good ones, and alterations are sometimes needed to make the transition from "thing people wore 700 years ago" to "thing this fictional character is wearing in a production".
Costumes are not meant to be functional pieces that people wear day to day as the characters in their story and setting would wear them. They are meant to communicate character always, and (sometimes) story. They should not distract from that story, either.
But yeah, I agree with you--the reason why The Great isn't complained about as much with costumes is because the show tells it like it is re: its intentions. And honestly, the costumes are great. People who talk about costumes and know shit about historical accuracy re: costumes? Often love The Great's costumes. Because it really is done with so much intentionality and thought, and they are truly so well-crafted. I think the decision to dress Nick Hoult the way they do was a huge part of grounding us in that character, and honestly, helped make people open their hearts to the character sooner. He looked HOT in those clothes, and while his acting and the writing did the heavy lifting for the redemption arc.... the pants helped.
I also think some of them learned from Reign that when a show is truly balls to the wall, nobody watching that show gives a fuck about whether or not the costumes are authentic. Like, I remember people screaming "WHAT ABOUT FRENCH HOODS" with that show and it's like, my guy, I just saw Francis talk to the ghost of his dead father while he possessed a busty governess, I think we're past that.
I think everyone should just give up the ghost and focus on what looks good and what fits the story. Personally, I think the costumes in Bton look kind of cheap and poorly fitted much of the time; they were marginally better in season 2, but honestly, not by a lot (and I think the men's costumes look *marginally* better than the women's on a consistency level, but they've never known how to dress Luke Newton in a way that flatters his skin tone or his body type--and that's not a dig, it's a comment on the costumes). I don't think they serve the idea of a lush historical romance, but then, Bton doesn't wanna be that. If you look at the styling of Roxanne in Cyrano, eras aside, that's what gives me historical romance heroine more than.... many things I've seen. Or, if you want to look at something a bit more buttoned up and accurate, the way they styled Dido in Belle.
And Little Women 2019 fit that aesthetic, too; and that movie wasn't even trying to be about history, lmao, so I never got why people were upset. It was about the sisterly bond. It was about the emotionality. Change a few details and you could have transported the core narrative Gerwig was concerned with into so many other eras. And you had so many characters, and more narrative focus on Meg and Amy than other adaptations have granted, and as such it was so important that the sisters have different stylistic vibes. Meg's fresh youthfulness contrasted to her weariness post-marriage; Amy going from girlish to elegantly dignified refinement; Jo always being *very purposefully not of her time*, lmao.
Idk, I just wish people would focus on story and quality with costumes, versus accuracy. Everyone is creaming themselves over Alicia Vikander having a chin strap with her French hood in Firebrand, and while those costumes (from what I've seen) definitely look cool and high quality, I guarantee that much of the general audience will either a) not notice or b) think it's weird. But that's not me saying it's a bad move--it's me saying that these small details mean a lot to those of us who know, but the entire picture is much more important to everyone else.

This isn't my first anything/Everybody knows that nobody knows that/Everybody's in on everybody's business/This isn't my first lyric, I know exactly how I should finish it"
Uzi: "Aye aye, I eye my eyes, I’m taking action/Aye aye, I eye my eyes, I’m gaining traction/Aye aye, I eye my eyes, no more distractions/I’m done relaxing, I am a chemical reaction.", "I’m tripping like a klutz and/I’m rolling like thunder/I'm a snot nosed pothead playing with matches/A rotten spot of mold with/My hands on a cactus/My mouth is dry and my eyes are red/I’m chewing on sand ‘cause the/Desert’s in my head", "I might be a saint worth steeples/I might be the brain of evil/Bad things happen to good people/Good things happen to me."
OH YEAH I LIKE THESE SO MUCH SJSJS-Bibi

How Your Thinking Shapes Your Reality
Many people feel offended by the idea that "we create our reality." They see it as blaming the victim, and it's true that nobody asks for bad things to happen to them. But we do create much of our reality. Denying this denies our power.
Life has three categories: things we control, things we influence, and things we cannot control.
Things we can't control include many random events: the family we're born into, natural disasters, pandemics, illnesses, job layoffs, deaths, and accidents. These are circumstances and events that just happen.
Things we influence are affected by our actions, like how others might respond to us. If you walk into a room and slap someone, they'll react differently than if you smile at them. But you can't control their exact reaction.
Things we control are how we perceive, interpret, and think about events in our lives. These thoughts generate our feelings and influence our behavior. No one can choose your thoughts or actions; those are yours alone.
For example, if your significant other breaks up with you and you think, "I will never find anyone else to love me," you will likely feel depressed and act accordingly, such as staying in bed. If you think, "I'm glad this loser is out of my life," you'll feel and act very differently. You choose your thoughts.
Here's where it gets serious: If you keep thinking the same thoughts and believe them, they become your beliefs. These beliefs create a lens through which you view the world, filtering out anything that doesn't match up with what you believe.
For instance, if you believe, "I'm not attractive enough," and go to a party where 10 people compliment you and one person makes a neutral comment about your outfit, you'll likely focus on that one comment. This will reinforce your belief that you're not attractive enough, and you'll think more negative thoughts about yourself.
This filtering system, often called priming, works by activating certain beliefs and shutting down others. That's why people who are depressed see a more depressing world. They are convinced their view is the "truth," not realizing they're creating their version of reality.
What you take in through your belief filter becomes your self-concept. Your self-concept includes "I am" beliefs about who you are now and "I can" beliefs about what you're capable of in the future. These beliefs shape the stories you tell yourself and others about who you are. "I am not good enough," "I am smart," "I can achieve my goals"—these scripts shape your actions and expectations.
When you expect something to happen and act accordingly, you often bring about that outcome.
For example, if you don't have a positive self-concept and fear rejection on a date or at a job interview, you're likely to act nervously, increasing the chances of rejection. This is a self-fulfilling prophecy, creating your reality based on your beliefs.
You are always participating in creating your reality, whether you know it or not. There's nothing magical about it; it's how our brains work. When you deny this, you feel powerless and like a victim of your life. But with awareness comes choice. Understanding this process gives you the power to shape your life.
Uncontrollable events will always happen. But you control how you think and feel about these events and what you do next. This is how you shape your life. In times of crisis, some people thrive. Is it luck? More likely, they choose to see opportunity instead of disadvantage.
Is it easy to break out of autopilot and take charge of this process? No, it can be tough, especially if life has been hard. But it is doable, and like anything, it gets easier with practice. Since it's your life and no one else is as invested in it as you are, it's worth trying.

We have ideas for sports cars and we're going to start making them and some of them were already going to be produced and we shall we are going to take off the stopping thing when you stop your car it turns it off we are going to stop that we're not going to put that in and there's some other junk some of the exhaust recycling is terrible and catalytic converters are horrible there's a different one now and we are going to make performance vehicles and a lot of them we are also going to make frankenbike and we are looking for people to do it and factories too there's a whole bunch of factories in Los Angeles that could be used even Warehouse can be converted easily so if you know of one you know how to contact us please do so and with your proposal and you don't have to make a formal one we know who you are. Other motorbike ideas are welcome and meeting the same idea if you have a place anywhere on Earth let us know for any type of vehicle do you have an idea for whether it's a kit car conversion or a total build or just panels or plant-ons or using frames of stuff you have we'd like to know and we'll get things going and help you manufacture and we mean it we're going to start making vehicles that we find worth it the H1 half and he wants to call it that and we agree and he wants us to make the international harvester so have to send it to Tommy Allen first for approval and he's tickled pink and he says send me 20 and he's saying $20,000 so we'll send them $20,000 and he'll climb all over the place and paint them camouflage he says no red and white they'll be slightly modernized but not crazily and stamps and simple metal inside metal dash with only 11 on the top it says terrific you can clean it it's true too it stays less Dusty things we're going to make in quantity trucks we need anybody that built trucks or worked on them we need mechanics and we're going to put it out there but if you have a truck factory let us know we can help you work and work with you we can work out deals of all different structures pretty quick too and get them going this is going to help a lot and we're moving now and there's a lot to talk about and he likes the fast car thing and other stuff but we have to get moving on some things right now

I thought about the idea and it sounds pretty good with Kia we have Kia plants we want to get going and they're in our area and we're just going to get going on it we do agree it might be damaging to the reputation but not as damaging it's not compensating someone important and it was the engine and it was the damn oil plug and nobody would fix it right and there's too much oil but that shouldn't do that damage and it doesn't and you can't tell me the dipstick there are a couple problems that somebody built in so we're going to try and work on that and he says it's not like for like the whole cost of the vehicle and I get that too and he accompany it would be absorbing it and I only have a 20%. I do follow that and sales are going to be humongous if I fix it so I'm going to wait to hear I looked at the last one it dipped and then it went off
Trump
He wants to do well with Kia and his version of the Chrysler no he's going to do what Chrysler's doing and we already had a brief meeting. And no it wasn't behind dunkin' donuts it was inside. And with this company we think that if they reimburse you now it would be an issue no it would help you and we're ready to start out plants including starting up the one in Mexico it was huge that's like two billion square feet and it's more than assembly they make a ton of vehicles there and Kia does well and their motors better now they repair it and they can pump on a lot of vehicles so we are now starting up with as many kia plants that we have and John remillard will have his it's going to be a big question as to who reimburses you first we know it's a positive thing and he's mad and he says I'll stop it if you send it so we understand what that says and other people don't want us to send it so we're going to wait there's a lot of stuff like that that we can send cuz we're going to own companies but people here might block it and we don't want you to and things won't go well if you keep blocking it a lot of your people need work tons of work and it's going to start rejuvenating went a little bit backwards about 400% no it was about 2,000% now it's going to go ahead probably $3,000% or more there's a lot of ideas that are going to go into production including cosplay and all sorts of things if you have a business idea and you're a higher up the general region and you want to start your business you can call us we have factories and we have some personnel and we have locations in your areas and we have office buildings that can be converted we have tons of stuff that we can do huge numbers of people are going to call us yeah and they mean it too our stuff is really good and it's good quality and it works and we do test it out we want this to work we have fabrication for just about anything you can imagine including mini cars tons of them like the Bugatti that you saw in others and if you have small people we are willing to make those we are starting up companies like Coleman and that is Hera for the small engines and mini bikes camping gear and some in a lot of campers we are going to change the design a little to make it easier to build and faster. And a son and daughter are now saying small homes and tiny homes trailerable as well and we do see it there's time you can come and pop them onto a foundation and there is ones that you can put on a moving platform and to make all these neighborhoods and we're going to make our framing system popular too. We're going to start building huge neighborhoods with houses and tons of houses that are probably around 12 to 1500 square foot and it really houses four to five people comfortably these days the way they're designed we are moving on it real soon we're hiring for every trade you can imagine. We're taking over a lot of area in doing so Nirvana is off limits still it is a hell zone our son does not believe in gambling at all he's not a gambler he knows the math he sees you doing it and Mac got him some funding and it was pretty clean this nothing drastic about it on either side nobody made a big deal cuz he was helping but we want to open a
-mini new Las Vegas. He says Arizona is ripe. There's a lot of retirees there and Sherry can work there and people will like it she's a novelty and Trump can try and get one of those crappy places at the end of the strip and try and take over the place all the time and it'll Force us to take his buildings for new Las Vegas Nevada. And I think it's a great idea and we call it that too mini new Las Vegas and the reason is it would be smaller with smaller casinos. So he himself is wondering how small the casinos would be and he has a design idea and she does too and we're thinking about it and he was thinking one level for the casino and then hotels nearby and then his second thought was and it's kind of like a little dangerous but you can put full heights and there's an accident once in awhile but you'll put them full height safety glass and the safety net and you put a four or five story casino like in Belgium where they had that place with all the bars and he only went to a couple but it's like a five story thing and in the middle it's open and it's like one big bar and in this case you would have a big bar in the middle and some eateries and bars on each four and it and casinos on each floor and maybe like start out with five of those and then grow and you can have some that are sprawling but not many cuz you we're not going to use up much room we don't want to make it seem huge and we want to test bed all of our stuff but the mini limousines and the tram ideas and the layout of the place having one concourse one way with like five lanes and the other one to the other way with tunnels and we do it with just this small microphone and you like the idea where we can talk about partnership if you have land and you like the idea. And we'll be selling things there probably mini cars and we have a line of them. We have about five buildings I know they're saying 10 we could move over there there's a light that and a couple sprawling ones in hotels and it could have some long stay things or cheaper and some of his really cheap type motel types that he had and come up with an also some of our test bed ones for hard knock and the Japanese style ones with a teeny room and a lot of people like it it's a great idea so when you think it works because Bruce Willis doesn't New York and then I quadruple their living space tendencies and tendencies and that's what they need to do so we're moving out right now and if anybody has land for this New Vegas and let us know if you want to partnership and if you want to be a partners on the casino that we want to have interest in it let us know too and we're accepting all races at this time and of course it would be your realms races
Thor Freya
So I get offered to do five of them if I got in there and I'm trying to do that
Mac daddy
I'm going to try and do five
Ben Arnold
I'm going to try and do six or seven maybe two or a crappy one in the outskirts maybe a mile away
Trump
And my cousin says don't go down there they have some s***** wedding stuff yeah I get that
Sarah
We're getting on to this we might have a crappy one down to the outskirts too and he says it's good because it's a model for the big one and so it would be
Garth
So you're not asking us permission so we just talked to you yeah you did
Mac daddy
That was cool that was full anyways I wonder what Daniel's up to is a big mom character
Ben Arnold
Yeah we're going to do this I might open the superhero bar he says that is a very welcome idea and if you want investors for Tampa you know how to contact my people even I'm going to talk to someone for a minute that's great we'll hold
Daniel
Leading death strike no that's not me I have a character and you're right she's sexy but you don't want me to do that one I have some more like ones but they wouldn't like it so really I have to be someone that they know about and Catwoman is one of them and I have a character and she'll probably butt in so I'm going to go ahead and do this and try and get a consortium going for Tampa and for a new mini Las Vegas and we're going to get our mini business going they have a site and they're going to talk about it and I thank you for the idea
Hera
Oh boy this is going to be fun
Chicago PD girl who's married to the guy who did three kings movie in Afghanistan
I forgot what I was going to say no there's a great ideas I want to be part of superhero bar in Tampa and he said someone's heading it up and it's Daniel so I'm going to go ahead and contact him and I want to do the one in mini Las Vegas
Mac daddy
No we have this mini car company and we have tons of cars we have them already and we can put them in mini Las Vegas and you just one of these used car dealerships and just move it out there and they're called new mini cars. And they're not kids they're ground up they're fast and solid and great cars and Nicki Minaj is not that small those are full size Lamborghinis in the video. Now this is a great company and it's a great idea is mini Las Vegas and we might have to change the name so he said Las Vegas is Spanish sort of it really is so you put it in English and call it mini and people might like that and you put in subtitles meaning Las Vegas Las Vegas pequeno. And father and mother vital and got his wife are laughing and the name never comes out right for crying loud but yeah this is a great idea he wants to work on the sign and we say that would be terrific and it had to have lights and all sorts of things in the background he can work on an entranceway sign he can work on and if you like Vegas but our version and yeah we're going to have to have we'll tell news and everything and he doesn't know what that bar name is in Belgium but he wants to name it after the bar and Stefan wants to get involved he can have a casino inside it. Who wants to do a laser light show and have a small sphere. Before the big one gets there he's going to put it he wants us to put a small one at 45 ft and say the big one is coming really and it's kind of awesome his ideas that you have a hotel inside it just like 20 rooms and you can see into the rooms you can see it and you can turn the ball off but most the time would be on so when you're inside you would see like the back of the image you can still see out though a little and you can have cameras so you can turn it to look like when it's actually outside without seeing it so it's kind of the illusion thing of a cloak it's a little more advanced now people want to get involved it sounds like a lot of fun so we're going to go ahead with this now all these ideas

Have you tweaked the character from canon? If so, what did you tweak? 😈
Canon Questionnaire
You've done this on purpose. I'll kill you (affectionate).
Hmmmmmmmmm. Okay so just so we're all on the same page about whether or not I can explain in detail the truly unhinged amount of yapping I've done in this field without writing so many words this text box implodes, here is the current word count on the document where I have most* of my headcanons for Henry backed up:
*I think I'm a few hc posts behind? But nothing major. The HC dumping ground does not include the 16 page google doc.
It's a lot.
A vast vast vast majority of it comes from altering his canon history + expanding on it. Which is to say I've given him a history, as the movie gives like four (4) total facts about how Henry was raised, with a fifth sitting in an expanded scene that was very specifically cut out of the movie (i.e. They left his history very vague on purpose. I'm not exactly sure why? But if they're smart it's because they wanted to let people fill in their own blanks. It's very much a shame most people filled in those blanks with bad faith.) The facts as the movie gives them are:
Henry's childhood home is a lighthouse, which -if you're quick at processing visual information or pause the movie to see- is back in Port Royal, according to a map he's drawn.
He sank himself to the bottom of the ocean to talk with his father, who did not break from the Dutchman's Curse after 10 years whether you want to take that one interview as word of god canon or not. (It's. A whole thing that I will talk about if you would like to know, but not here. That it's own beast.)
Henry has been sailing with the British Navy long enough to have been kicked off at least one other ship that isn't the HMS Monarch. This could be in a matter of days, weeks, or months - notably the crew still refer to him as a "landsman" so probably not months.
Elizabeth (and Will) discouraged Henry from talking about/idolizing Jack.
The scene on the Dying Gull in which Henry confronts Jack for saying Will is "unsaveable", Henry says "I may not be a pirate", however this is the line that has been very carefully cut out of this scene; the scene itself is still in the movie, but with this line and the direct reply to it cut out. Again: I cannot definitively say why, but I do think it would be smart if they were trying to avoid making too many assertions while already sort of soft-rebooting a bunch of things.
So. All in all there really isn't... a canon history, exactly. There's a sort of canon handful of details, with room for inferences, and assumptions, and soooooo much space for inventing. But not a whole lot of concrete Fact. And even then I've still shuffled a good bit of it. So the things I've tweaked/changed goes like:
Henry's childhood home is a lighthouse, agreed — but it's on Shipwreck Island, not in Port Royal.
No arguments from me. -> Again, we can talk about the "word-of-god about the curse" thing on a different post if you're curious, but my only beef is actually just that I think Will wouldn't be all deep-sea'ified, nor that his crew would be any threat to himself or Henry. But the actually sinking himself, that definitely happened.
Sure, why not. -> "Why would he sail with the British Navy if he was raised pirate?" I personally maintain that, if you are the son of the pirate king, and you feel compelled to strike out on a dangerous journey by yourself, which your intensely protective and highly connected mother will not like, you are going to have to sneak away. And to sneak away on a ship and sail for answers without immediately having word get back to her before you can even leave port, you are going to have to sail with her enemies. It's the only way to be out of her reach by the time word gets back that you've vanished. And some things just have to be done. -> "Why would Elizabeth not want him to go? Doesn't she want Will back?" Of course she wants Will back! Nobody said she didn't! (Nobody said anything about her at all!) But the thing Henry's chasing is a literal myth that has not been proven even remotely real, and they don't even know for a fact it has the power to break the curse — or that "breaking" the curse which spared Will's life won't just kill him. Henry's entire journey is gambits on gambits, and guaranteed to be very dangerous even if none of it proves true or pans out. The potential of the reward is not promised enough for the level of risk, to anyone with a shred of sanity (i.e. who isn't an 18 year old obsessed with righting this 'wrong' in particular.) The trident is a wonderful, but fanciful bedtime story. There isn't actually any reason to believe it can be found, or that finding it will Magically fix the world, or even this specific problem. (And if it is real, and it is that powerful, unearthing it could be incredibly dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands or if the goddess who is still living takes issue with your attempts to play god. (Calypso has to favor him or else she strikes him down immediately for having this much fuckin audacity.))
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Well, maybe discouraged the idolization. But I simply do not believe that Elizabeth and Jack would part ways permanently. And I think Jack absolute cannot remain a static character, if he is to be involved in this story, and has to have at least vaguely moved away from his pretending-to-be-perfectly-detached ways. And in fact I think Liz and Jack have been playing relationship chicken the whole time, and at this point even Henry is like "jesus will you just kiss already"--- but anyway Jack's family. Almost everything about DMTNT Jack is changed.
A nonpoint to me. I don't need to negate it, it's not even actually in the movie; I am, technically, not canon divergent in asserting Henry as a pirate. His role in society is a nonfact (and in fact his introductory scene has an exchange in which Will says "You have to stop acting like-" and Henry interjects to say "A pirate? I won't." So. The intention was there at some point, yes, but they quite literally changed their minds and cut it out, and I am free to ignore it and not consider that being divergent, because it's not in the fucking movie.
[... I have been harassed about point 5 in the past I apologize ;slkdjfg;lkdsjfg]
In the end most of who Henry is, in the movie, hinges around his motivations and his interactions with others, and when it comes to his actual characterization, I don't feel that I have strayed exceptionally far? At least I haven't aimed to stray very far. Hannah!Henry's a little more ... involved? He is a catalyst in the movie but aside from key moments he ends up on the backseat for a decent stretch of the movie's middle, because they cut scenes where his skillset came into play and otherwise focused on Carina (who I love, but the balancing of characters in this movie is. poorly juggled.) I take him a little more seriously that the movie does. And most of my rearranging for the rewrite has put things back into Henry & Carina's hands, as opposed to them just being dragged along by the fact they're protagonists in an action-adventure movie. In fact I'm very afraid I've backed myself into a corner where I'm going to have to invent the puzzles they have solve in order to show them solving them, which is making me scream and cry and throw up, but. I digress.
I really do think he's more or less consistent with himself, movie!canon to Hannah!canon, personality wise. There's... a open door where you could make him sheltered, if you really wanted to? And not be completely Wrong, but I think it takes away from him, rather than adds anything, and have leaned more towards the parts of him that seem experienced and clever and resourceful. He's an effective, if not very precise, fighter – that had to come from somewhere. I've emphasized the "I've spent my life studying the myths of the sea" thing and the mention of multiple languages (the Latin is technically the only other directly named by anything (the novelization)), and he's become a storyteller and all-around people person in a way that ... isn't negated? But isn't necessarily present, either. But the earnest boy who believes in others and brings people around to his cause is canon, and the impulsive, impatient, prickly bits of him are canon, and the a-bit-of-a-know-it-all-sometimes is SO canon, and the way he just will never ever give up or let go is! canon!!
He's so good, dude, like.
Despite my ability to list and list and list flaws in this movie, the ultimate crux of the situation is that I love Henry Turn.er to bits and pieces. I think the team who made the movie very much landed in very nearly the perfect place, with him, the way he is, all those indisputable parts of him. He's such a beautiful little thing trapped in a modern blockbuster to me, it's insane. I love him canon, I love him Hannah!canon, I love him in fics I've read that do something similar but different to what I've done where they completely change his background but keep the core tenants of who he is. It's true I tend to ignore the parts of him that feel like they were written exclusively for the bit, but I'm not sure those really count as characterization anyway. (The "I saw her ankles" line can die a thousand horrible deaths and it doesn't really change anything about him.) He is who he is. I wouldn't be writing him if I changed those things! I've just given him a home and a best friend and history and people and a landing place. A world to live in.
Because he's so good and I think he deserves one.
And he deserves to get his dad back.
And to keep living after that, not a fade to black but on and on into more stories.
