Hello!!! Can I ask you something?
I wanted to ask for a super cute Scenario or headcanons, where in One Piece's AU, Shanks is a businessman who has a very good salary and is married to YN who is a super kind and attentive housewife who treats Shanks like a king, because he always is working and always getting very tired from work and still pleases YN with gifts and taking her out on days off, they don't necessarily have kids, that's you decision
shanks wants his wife to be the happiest wife in the world!!!
Tumblr media
─Shanks x wife!reader
─Summary: it doesn't seem like you can get a second of rest, but your husband surprises you with some gifts.
─Warnings: modernAU
this is so cute hjhsajh 😳
Tumblr media
You narrowed your eyes as you saw the vase slightly further to the right, moving it a couple of centimeters so that it was exactly in the right spot, in the same place you put it every day after doing a big cleaning of the house.
You sat on the neat couch, scanning the living room for anything still missing out of place, smiling at your good work, although the smile soon disappeared when a slight back pain broke your good mood bubble, the pain had intensified lately since Shanks had some meetings in his personal study, so you did your best to make everything as organized and clean as usual.
It was a bit sad since he spent many hours busy, although he always made up for it on the weekends when he had his days off, however the company had to resolve some issues regarding some clients and employees, collections, payroll, settlements… there were always months filled with a lot of work and you both ended up so exhausted that you didn't even have a single moment to talk for days.
Today seemed like it was going to be one of those days where you were waiting with a glass of wine, eating dinner alone in the kitchen, you knew that if Shanks hadn't arrived by a certain time, you shouldn't make dinner for two, and you were about to get to cook, you only managed to cut a couple of onions when you screamed when you felt a strong arm lift you slightly from the ground, your shock faded when you felt the redhead's presence.
"I thought you wouldn't come today."
"Surprise!"
He joined his lips with yours sweetly, when he put you back on the ground, he left for a second to return with a small bouquet of roses and a wrapped box, you frowned strangely at the detail, Shanks was not a person who usually did gifts like that, yes, he would buy you things, but he would just arrive and give it to you unwrapped or he would just ask you if you want that thing directly.
"What is this? Oh don't tell me I forgot about our anniversary or-"
Your worried tone and nervousness for having forgotten some important date was cut by the man's lips, who left a trail of short kisses all over your face, making you laugh like a fool in love, he smiled at this.
"No, I'm the most likely to forget that kind of thing love, it's just a gift! Can't I spoil you a little? I know how much it costs to maintain a home, plus your sore muscles..."
He took your hands in his, rubbing circles with his thumb on your knuckles, you melted under his touch, pulling him to your body to sink into a comfortable embrace, you breathed in his scent slowly, burying your face in his shoulder, he let you hold the position. As long as you needed, Shanks didn't care if you spent hours hugging him, he would enjoy every second of contact. You pulled away a couple of minutes later, turning your attention now to the box he had left on the kitchen counter earlier next to the roses, curious about its contents, he urged you to open it, even he seeming more excited than you by the gift.
"Oh… how did you know this was what I wanted? I don't remember telling you about it yet."
Although both you and Shanks used to share certain things that you needed or would like to have for possible birthday, anniversary or Christmas gifts… you still hadn't had the opportunity to tell him that this was what you were thinking of buying as a self-gift for your next birthday.
"A husband's intuition never fails, and look, there are more things!"
Looking at the bottom of the box you pulled out two stiff papers that seemed to be hidden, a silly smile decorating your lips as you read them.
"Spa and massage session for two?"
He raised and lowered his eyebrows with a mischievous smile, you laughed, hitting his shoulder, hugging him again as a way of thanking him, you felt a little bad for not having a gift for him right now, since you weren't the only one who needed a break from time to time from work, but you made a mental note to look for something that he might like.

hi bean! i wonder if you have watched/ read given? if not, feel free to ignore this question :)
how do you think shizusumi's relationship was with yuki and mafuyu? what do you think he thought about them? (not as a couple, individually).
I'm a lesbian who plays the guitar and sings, how could I not love Given? It's one of my favorite mangas!!!! <33
Shizu mention Shizu mention Shizu mention Shizu mention Sh-
I like him. A lot. And I've seen so much hate for him going on lately (tbf it was on TikTok and TikTok is commonly known for having the worst takes to ever exist. That was on ME) that I'm happy you ask about him!!!! <3 (although, bear with me, it's been A LONG WHILE since I read the manga so some stuff might be wrong)
Shizusumi's relationship with Mafuyu and Yuki is something that I would've loved to see more of :( We can tell they were close childhood friends and I think he considers them both important people to him. I wish they had used more of that (perhaps this is just me begging for more Shizu content) (and more childhood flashbacks).
But of course, Shizu has always felt a bit out of place in the group. They've said multiple times that despite all of them being friends, Mafuyu and Yuki had their own thing. The one person Shizu actually had was Hiiragi, and at the end of the day, Hiiragi admired and idolized Yuki so damn much that it got to Shizu's nerves. I've seen so many people saying Shizu HATED Yuki??? When it's not like that AT ALL???? I think he considered him a close friend too, but envying someone for how bright they are in comparison to you, even if they're a friend, it's completely normal (especially if your crush admires him). And it doesn't make you love them any less.
However, I think Shizu's perception of Yuki (as blurry as it is because we don't really have that much content of them both) is the one of someone so bright and colorful he decides to keep at arm's length because he doesn't feel included in his light. Shizu has his issues being close to people (the way he is with Hiiragi) and if they don't really push him to the light he just... Feels left out. So I don't think he hated Yuki. Jealous of him? Definitely. Not even in a romantic sense, either, just in general. Yuki had a passion and talent for music Shizu didn't. Yuki had a light Shizu couldn't match. Yuki had Hiiragi's admiration and eyes on him to the point that Shizu had issues believing Hiiragi could love him back. But that doesn't take away the friendship they had.
He says he finds the fact that everybody loves Yuki a bit irritating, right? (I didn't make that one up, he says that, I remember) But that's just how envy and jealousy are. It doesn't mean that he believes Yuki shouldn't be loved, it means that he was just... Too perfect in the eyes of everyone and for someone who doesn't feel that way, it stings. I think Shizu is so devoted to Hiiragi that we forget he was friends with the other two, but tbh, it's also because he personally feels like he doesn't belong in their world. Not being in Mafuyu and Yuki's world is one thing, because they were in their love bubble. But Hiiragi was somehow there too or at least admiring it from afar while Shizu admired him instead.
So what I end up assuming is that they were close friends but Shizu had his issues with Yuki and kept him far away since he felt left out, and it doesn't take away the fact that they were friends, even if his love for Hiiragi is stronger than the friendship he shares with Mafuyu and Yuki (dude is devoted). It's the feeling of knowing a friend is on another level and that's fine, you still love them, but the sensation of not belonging forever rests within you (I wish they had talked more about his grief, but focusing on him taking care of Hiiragi's mental health instead is great to show how his friendship with Yuki was strongly linked by Hiiragi too. And how much he is willing to push away his own needs for him).
And Mafuyu!!! He's the one I wish the manga made Shizu talk to more. I think their dynamic is sooo powerful. Shizu is very, very direct and honest with his feelings for Hiiragi. He's painfully devoted to him. Mafuyu, on the other hand, doesn't get why if he's so, so sure, he doesn't do anything about it. But the point is-- Mafuyu doesn't understand Shizu the same way Shizu understands him, if that makes any sense.
I think Shizu reads Mafuyu pretty well and is very analytical about him (he did live their childhood seeing his whole thing with Yuki from afar and also dealing with the suicide and the argument with Hiiragi in a moderate way), but Mafuyu cannot fathom his feeling of being left out or longing to be with Hiiragi and doing nothing. The first thing Mafuyu does when he realizes he likes Uenoyama is confessing, and his whole life he has been already romantically involved with Yuki (it happened naturally). I think Shizu, despite loving Mafuyu as a close childhood friend, also feels a bit of jealousy towards his luck when it comes to reciprocated love. (On the other hand, I don't think he can understand the pain Mafuyu goes through after Yuki's death. Not even Hiiragi's pain. Not because he didn't care for Yuki, but because it was... A different type of pain and relationship. But he does understand what it is to love someone just as deeply since the very beginning of their friendship).
Once again, the whole thing I said about his relationship with Yuki, Shizu sees both of them from afar. At arm's length. Instead of keeping them as close as he keeps Hiiragi. Tbf Hiiragi is pretty damn stubborn and forces his way into people's hearts (which is what Shizu needs), but even if Mafuyu and Yuki had tried harder to include him (which we don't know) I think he would've still seen the light surrounding them instead of himself. Now they help each other out and I think their relationship and closeness are very stable in comparison to when the manga started! Mafuyu literally goes to him exclusively for advice and Shizu cares deeply for him too. I think, and I might be wrong, that some part of Shizu wants to protect Mafuyu and Hiiragi. The Hiiragi thing in their dynamic is obvious, he's always taking care of him. But I don't think we talk enough about Shizu caring for Mafuyu too...
To conclude, I apologize if my lil analysis is wrong in some stuff because these are the things I remember mostly from when I read the manga and now that the movies are airing I truly need to reread them before watching them 😭😭😭 Shizu is one of my fav characters along with Ugetsu and I don't know how I haven't watched the movie that's out yet (I've been busy </3)

You can totally ignore this if you want, i just saw that poat you added to about fandom bullying and idk, I am just... gah, i wish this fandom wasnt so cruel. I had so much fun here when i first joined and i didnt really know what i was getting into except for the fact that I loved ghost! now i still love ghost, but i am in the process of de-ghosting my blog. I feel like every day I see people bullying one another in this community, and I feel like every time i post my writing, I risk drawing attention and being bullied. Congratulations to those assholes! they'll kill the fandom because folks will be too scared to share work.
I know fandom always has some drama, but none of the others I have been involved in have been this cruel. I dont know if people are just getting crueller, or whether Ghost somehow just attracts cruel people. I hate to think the latter, because the band is drenched in love. But i fear to think the former, though i worry it might be so.
I don't think it's the band itself Hun, I think definitely it's the sort of bubble the fandom itself has created.
Cruel people exist everywhere and it's unfortunate when they end up finding each other in a bubble, ghost has gotten so big that its really hard to regulate and you will have lots of unregulated environments where people don't feel comfortable.
You as a member can do what you need to endure YOUR safety, but that sometimes isn't enough or as effective when other triggers (i.e. hate anons) are still present in the environment.
I completely feel you and I am so sorry that you've been through this and feel like this as well... Ghost used to be my comfort fandom, and I am still so in love with the romanticized idea of it, I miss talking about our OC ghouls with friends, writing and reading about them and siblings of sin life in the abbey, about ghouls going on tours and being so silly with each other. About the love and romance that allowed people in the fandom to find new ways to love themselves and explore their sexuality and even bodies. I still think that was beautiful.
Unfortunately we lost that energy at some point, maybe with the hate anons to the writers, attacks to artists, maybe with the hypersexualization of presenting gay male ghouls and dislike for the female presenting ghouls. Maybe with the over-sexualization of unmasked members of the real band, which should've never happened.
The other day I found this clip from a Neil Newbon stream (voice of Astarion in BG3 and Heisenberg in REV) where he goes on to say some headcanons are just.. wrong, and you have to learn to separate fact from fiction. These are ultimately characters that the original creators wrote, while you as a fan artist have free range to give them physical designs and traits you also have to be aware that you need to keep a somewhat level of separation, AND decency between your own headcanons and the real canon.
I think ultimately that's where this fandom goes wrong... There is no separation because people get so fucked up into their headcanons in their made up mutual bubbles that I feel like they never go out to touch grass and maybe take a minute to evaluate their content.
Not that I'm saying it shouldn't exist. Just that it's important to understand WHY it was made, WHY, it exists. Is this ghoul hypersexual?? Okay well BUT WHY????? Who are they, how do they feel about it, when did they realize, how did it affect them??? That's never talked about, it's always "ghoul has lit of sex with same sex ghoul again!!!!" It's like plotless porn at that point, fetish. It becomes gross.
I ended up kinda ranting here but I made some good points so I hope this at least helps invite more discussion about what the frick has been happening here lately..
Lots of love and encouragement to you anon, and to anyone else who has felt this way at least once in the fandom. We deserve a decent creative space💀

When the Sun Rises in the West
Prologue
A/N: AHHH IT'S HERE!! I'm so excited to finally share this! I'm planning on posting chapters every couple days so I make you all wait for it 😉 this whole series was entirely based off of this playlist, and every chapter will have a theme. This one isn't super edited but I actually love this series. Heavily based off of GoT (locations and dergons) but no spoilers. This story doesn't use the same plot or same characters.
C/N = City Name
Word Count: 1,700+
The barren wasteland of Essos was home to many people for the past several centuries. From dry deserts to scattered mountain ranges, the people couldn't have been happier to be alive and not in Westeros, dealing with the war of the iron throne. Blood shed, tears, agony and resentment are what wars left behind, not the virtues of peace and prosperity they promised. You, for one, would never want to experience anything like it. As heiress to a city newfound within the last century, your heart is only filled with love for your people. Never in your life would you wish to put a sword in a child's hand and tell them to fight for your honor, and not their own.
There's a reason your people haven't had to fight yet. Both the natural defenses that C/N holds and the ferociousness of native animals. C/N lies in a valley between several mountains. It is deep enough to have its own water supply, and no sane ruler would have his army climb over such steep mountain tops. Plus, they've only heard rumors about you, but no one would dare see if they were true.
The people of C/N love your family and care for you deeply, wishing you good health and even better prosperity. Children walk with you through the streets as you treat them to exotic fruits and pleasantries. The adults are thankful to all gods that they have found this Oasis, this sanctuary of peace and happiness. After trekking across the Red Waste and the Dothraki Sea they found a home for both themselves and their families. They smile as you walk by, greeting you and presenting you with their wares. Oftentimes, they will want you to take it for free - a gift, but you refuse every time. You live with the head family, there's no need for you to get freebies. Everyone lives in simple splendor with their everyday lives; content at the opportunity to have an easy life until they die.
"Y/N!" You snap out of a memory where you're dancing around a great pyre to an ancient song with the town elders. It was the celebration of your fifteenth birthday, an important day in a young person's life as they graduate from childhood to adulthood. "You know you have to leave soon, right?" Your mother walks around the grand table to you, and tests her hand on top of yours. She smiles sweetly as she waits for a response.
"I know, I just don't want too." Your eyes travel downwards at the new memory. Your birthday was in two months, and the 22nd birthday through your family lineage meant marriage. Although you wouldn't be taking over C/N anytime soon due to Fathers good health, there's still a need to have good trade relationships with other cities across the nation. You know that they wouldn't force you into a relationship, as their parents didn't, but let something grow naturally with one of the children of other head families. Out of so many there was bound to be one that caught your favor… or so they hoped.
"It'll be okay pumpkin, we didn't want to send you away for so many months, but Masaru's son is the only person in the world that is like you. There has to be a bond there we don't know about." In the past few months, head families have traveled to meet you and hope that they can tie the knot with you. They were all turned away, due to a couple big factors. 1) they were too young, 2) they had a stick up their ass, 3) they didn't give a shit about what happened to the citizens of their towns and would profit off of their tragedy and 4) there were allegations of slave trade among them. True or not, you would not stand to put a price on human life. If there were allegations, then that means someone connected to them was either in or around the trades themselves. It was sickening to think about. As far as you know, the Bakugou bloodline doesn't have any affiliations with slave traders, their son is your age, if not a little older and cared about his people in an odd way.
"Why am I going for so long? I'm going to miss my 22nd celebration…"
"Well, the Bakugou's haven't been sending us a lot of materials lately, so you're not only there for personal interest but diplomatically. We need these materials for more homes. Those children you live are becoming adults, but we don't have the means to help them." She squeezes your hand. "You can help them. Missing your celebration will suck, I know, but we'll have it as soon as you get back. Plus we'll need to talk about who's going to marry who."
Anxiety bubbles in your chest, but you pop it with a calming smile. "I know. I don't like any of the other candidates, but if the rumors about the younger Bakugou are true than I shouldn't have to worry. If we are the only two in the world that are this way, isn't that a sign from gods old and new?"
"That's the spirit Y/N. We'll finish packing your stuff. Go finish saying your goodbyes." Your mother smiles sweetly and give you a tight hug before letting you go. The rest of the night you reminisce with old friends. You all talk about old shenanigans and pranks you used it pull on older people, but now you're the older people having pranks pulled on them. It is a great night of food and friends with a light dusting of sadness topped off with tears. You were gonna miss everyone, but you must do what they need you to do. They weren't crying because they were acted for you, more like they didn't want you to leave.
At first you misinterpreted their tears, "Guys, I'm gonna be okay! I'll have Rhaegal and Viserion with me."
"No Y/N, we don't want you to go!" Mina cries from across the tavern table. The tears were appreciated, and broke your heart.
"I'll be back before you know it. Maybe I'll even have some eye candy at my side." Everyone laughs and you take the rest of the night to enjoy their company. You wouldn't have been able to sleep anyways, so this was a pleasant alternative.
The morning sun is bright when your eyes crack open. They hurt for a couple seconds, but it passes as your body adjusts to new circumstances. The sun itself is only cresting over the mountain tops, creating a golden glow around everything the light touches. That's when it hits you - this is last sunrise you'll be seeing for who knows how long. If all goes well diplomatically, then you'll be able to return home within a month, but if conflicts arise… you try not to put much thought into it and just watch the hues of peach and orange dance across the sky.
Softly, someone places a hand on your shoulder breaking your stream of thoughtlessness. "It's time to go." Your mother spoke quietly, as though cooing a newborn. Her velvet voice helps calm you even further. It'll only be for a little while. I don't even have to focus on Masaru's son if I don't want too. "C'mon, let's go grab Rhaegal and Viserion."
Walking towards the edge of town, a cart with all of your things lies ahead on the path, waiting to be pulled by 2 horses and their carriage master, Kota. He smiles at you, and you back to him. You can't help but wonder how such a sweet stable boy would want in Mereen, but maybe he just wanted to take Clyde and Grumm out for a walk after being cooped up for so long. You and your mother walk around the base of one of the surrounding mountains to a cave entrance. It's too dark to see inside, but you know the two are there; waiting to be set free since the last incident.
"Ñuhyz zaldrīzesse." Screeching bounced off of the cavern walls, the cacophony animalistic gurgles and grunts echo both out and further into the tunnels. An orange flame lights up the room suddenly, and the scale from the beasts glisten in the fire light. Large cuffs are wrapped around their necks that have chains bolted into the mountain walls. "Ñuha riñar, Rhaegal se Viserion. Iksan vaoreznuni." You walk over to the chains and unlatch them. Their large bodies tower over your own, but you can feel that they mean no harm. Rhaegal nuzzles his chin on the top of your head, as if saying "I know". His green scales shine Viserion bellows out another flame. Altogether, you exit the cave.
"They don't seem agitated." Your mother stands back quite a ways; she knows that they would never harm her but they are very large creatures.
"No, they learned their lesson." You run a hand over Viserion's cream colored scales, looking into his golden eyes. "Daēz." Upon the last sound leaving your lips, the spread their massive wings and take off, spurring dust clouds at their feet.
"Hopefully the Bakugou boy is as caring as you are." She laughs as you both walk to the wagon. Kota stares at the beasts in the sky, marvelling at them as they sore and howl.
"If he's the only other person in this world who has one, then he better be taking care of it as if it were his child."
"There is a reason they call you Muña Zaldrīzoti, my dear." You both laugh for a second and you look up at her.
"I'm going to miss you." You take her hands in your own, and squeeze them. She reciprocates it by releasing your hands and going for a hug.
"You'll do great. I know it and so does your father." She squeezes her arms before releasing. "Now go off and do amazing things." Tears prick the corners of you eyes, but you hold them back as best you can. With one last glance at your smiling mother, you hop on the carriage next to Koda and start on your journey to Mereen.

Note
i don’t normally add to posts like this, but since i’m a gnarled veteran of rpf and the discourse surrounding it (of all natures) at this point, i thought i’d share this time.
ao3cotd covered the basic premise that’s most important to understand. most rpf is not actually about the real, breathing people that inspires it. i’d go so far as to say it has very little to do with them, or reality, at all. at least in the cases of fandoms with super diverse, and often fantastical or outright bizarre rpf content.
secondly, rpf is not just shipping. real person shipping (rps) is just a category of rpf (albeit a popular one, usually). rpf is just fiction that deals with evoking real people, or that’s inspired by them. hamilton is rpf, and you could even argue that plato’s stories about socrates are rpf.
thirdly, rpf is OLD. the fandom-y kind we’re familiar with predates the internet. the not-necessarily-fandom-y kind has been done as long as people had the concept of famous people. it’s not new or unique to the last decade of fandom, which i think sometimes people unconsciously misconceive and it informs their disapproval. humans have been doing rpf forever, so you’re not particularly weird for taking an interest in it, anon.
fourthly, to address what it seems you’re asking, rpf is not a single monolithic fandom. there’s rpf of literally everything, from actors to reality tv to bands (my specialty) to sports leagues to youtubers to like. long-dead historical figures. and then subdivisions upon subdivisions of those things. what your experience with it is like will depend entirely on which specific fandom you’re interested in, and how much of a dumpster fire it is. which is, unfortunately, just as diverse of a spectrum as rpf overall.
to make you feel better, you can exist in a dumpster fire rpf fandom and not contribute to the dumpster fire or Bad Stories. i do this daily. it kinda sucks when it comes to going outside your bubble, but the reasons a lot of rpf fandoms suck in the first place don't often have to do with the rpf itself.
but, since i brought it up, i’ll give you a non-exhaustive breakdown of how you could go about this (and in general what to do to stay clear of delusional thinking):
the thing you want to avoid is conflating fiction with reality, and thus inserting your personal narratives onto someone else’s life (and therefore acting entitled to their autonomy/life).
thankfully this is not difficult, bc the biggest pitfall into it, in my gnarled opinion, is starting to consider certain types of content unacceptable. rpf is only really justifiable when you allow all of it, no matter how weird or uncomfortable, because otherwise there is an implication that it does have to do with reality. which is explicitly what you don’t want to start thinking.
this does not mean you can’t have squicks or specific preferences for what you like to engage with! you absolutely can and the vast majority of people do. but you can’t object to the stuff you don’t like’s existence. if you find yourself doing that you should stop and examine why. if the reason has smth to do with inaccuracy, not being realistic, offending the person it’s about, ect, then that’s a red flag you may be forgetting that it's all imaginary, including what you like.
i’d also recommend putting disclaimers on your fics or ao3 profile clarifying that your work is rpf, and shouldn't be taken seriously. or at least condemning the Bad Stories, if you're worried about that. in general if you just keep in mind people outside rpf can see your stuff (if that is likely), you largely dodge the dumpster fire. a little context goes a long way to keep your content from being misconstrued for what it’s not by bad eggs or those unfamiliar.
lastly, i’ll end on the note that most people feel like you do now before they take the plunge. i know i did. i hope that my response provides some of the information you need to begin navigating it, as rpf in and of itself is not creepy or bad. you just have to be mindful of your behavior, like in..everything.
I think I'm starting to have a small interest in RPF? Honestly, I'm kind of freaked out, since I have no idea what the RPF fandom is actually like, though I figure at least most of them aren't like the bad stories you hear about (that's the case in most fandoms, really). I don't want to be creepy. I don't know what to do here.
So the thing about RPF is that it’s shipping real people... but only kind of.
As fans, we never see the actual real person. We see whatever version of themselves that they choose to put out publicly. A lot of the time, that’s very similar to their regular self. But it’s still a persona. I’m not as calm and thoughtful in my everyday life as I attempt to be on this blog, for example.  Public figures when they are in public are playing a version of themselves, and that’s what people ship.
Don’t freak out about it, anon. It’s fine. Most people who ship RPF know that it’s not real. They have no desire to talk to the actual people and tell them that they ship them with their best friend or whoever. A lot of them are frankly horrified by the idea of the people they ship finding out about it. A lot of RPF fic on AO3 is locked so that only people who are logged in can see it because RPF fans don’t want outsiders seeing it outside of the fannish context where we all know it’s not real and it’s just for fun.
There are, as in all groups, people who forget the rules or get really invested. That happens in any human endeavor. You already know where the line is, and you’re the only person you can actually control. Stay within your own comfort zones and you should be fine.
RPF fans, feel free to add things in the notes - and let me know if I’ve got you wrong. I’ve never actually posted RPF so this is my understanding of the rules from the outside.
