this chapters unfortunately pretty dialogue heavy so i’m just gonna show you a snippet of a scene 🙏

for context matt and willow ran into each other again after their first meeting and now they’re talking (again)

“What do I call you, by the way? I’ve just been calling you guy with the sticks, but i think it’s a bit much.”

“Just don’t call me anything.”

“Gonna be a bit hard to do that, buddy. What about Joe?”

“...Joe?”

“Like Joe Doe, you know? Mystery man?”

“It’s John Doe, not Joe Doe”

“oh”

Willow paused, furrowing her brows slightly. How did she not know that? He sighed,

“You can call me Joe if it makes things easier”

She gave him a small thumbs up.

“Thanks Joe”

“So what do I call you?”

There was a brief pause from both of them,

“I’m actually not sure”

“Not gonna tell me your name then?”

“Nope. Secret identity, you know how it is Joe”

i think i’m gonna rewrite this entire chapter because some of its just plain terrible. i’m aiming to have it posted on tuesday next week but it could end up being later depending on if i’m liking how it’s turning out 🗣️💥

today is the last day of one of the hardest and heaviest years of my life (i.e. my first year in this job) and also the last day of me being contractual / contingent (i.e. not a permanent employee which has been fine but also fucked me up just in the wording of it). i don’t think the horrors will relent just yet but i hope so sincerely that they ease soon and that this next year will be kinder and less turbulent and that i will be stronger for what i experienced this year
