Can some peeps be kind enough to send in asks if I was to make a post of the Do’s & Don’t as well as the fandoms and characters I’d (try) to write for??
Mayhaps. So here it is!
Since I lack the motivation for a few months to continue on my own lil inspired SAGAU fic/drable for a few months I thought some asks might be a better way to gain more motivation rather than having my own idea and limitations, go wild!!
Note: just please know that I am busy irl and have a life outside of tumblr as well as education so asks may take a while. Also I may find lacking in inspiration mid draft or something along those lines so please be aware. Still post it tho even if it’s scrapped :)

Hey guys. Sorry for being quiet for a month. Hopping on here to let y'all know that I do still have a pulse. Things have been... fine? I guess? Here's a bit of a wordy update on my situation right now, but the tl;dr is, I'm good, HE is still on hiatus, but I'll get back into the groove soon hopefully. Also happy holidays!
The mysterious and vague 'personal life stuff' is still ongoing, and I really don't know how long it'll be something that I have to deal with. I'm continuing to not elaborate because it is very much a personal life thing, but I can assure you that nobody's dying or anything grim like that.
On an only somewhat related note, my expendable income has shrank dramatically in the past few months, so I've been having to get a lot more stingy with what I spend money on. I'm not poverty stricken; I can still afford rent and bills and groceries and whatnot, I just gotta cut corners where I can so I can actually build up my savings.
What does this mean for Humanity's Endling? Well, it's... still on hiatus, technically. But really it just means I'm picking up more shifts than I'd usually care to, which means less time to actually work on it. If work were being done on it to begin with. I'm also cutting out my NSO subscription, which unfortunately means I will not be playing Splatoon 3 much at all anymore. Granted, I was kinda taking a break from it already, so it's not like I've been getting my money's worth of the subscription anyways. So if you were curious about my absence during this most recent Big Run, or the lack of a lengthy season observation/headcanon post like last time, that is why.
All of that said, it's not like I haven't been writing at all - just been hard focusing what creative juices I'm still able to generate given my situation on the accursed TTRPG I've mentioned in prior rambles, as that's an actively running thing that I kinda need to constantly pump stuff out for.
Speaking of which, I pulled a Super Mario Galaxy and wrote a whole ass children's book for the players to find as a lore thing. It was written with the intention of just being a normal children's book in a bubble, but when viewed with the context of the entire campaign thus far, takes on a completely different meaning. Which is to say, you don't need to know a damn thing about the campaign to appreciate the story - a theory I tested by having two people who aren't players read it.
One almost cried. The other actually cried. And when the players found it in our most recent session, one of them also cried, and we had to take a breather after the fact.
Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but I feel like that's one hell of an achievement. So I am pretty proud of myself for that. If you guys are interested, I might clean it up a bit and post it either on Ao3 as an original work or just straight onto this tumblr. It's only about 2k words, so it should fit nicely in a single post.
That's all I can really think of to say at the moment. Again, even though I might seem a bit quiet, I am still here. I take a peek at tumblr at least once a day to see if anyone's sent any asks or anything like that, so don't be afraid to toss something into my inbox if you have a question.
Oh, and for the anon who sent an ask suggesting me to upload what I have of Act II done already - I don't exactly plan my stories in a linear fashion, nor do I write them as such either. It's closer to me thinking of the major moments I wanna do, plotting out how to connect them, refining, refining, refining, rearranging, refining, scrap half of what I have done, rearranging, suddenly having an epiphany, scrapping another chunk... yeah, it's a bit chaotic. I see what you're trying to say though, and I do appreciate the suggestion, but it can't really be done with the way I go about writing.
That's it from me. Happy Holidays. Play Cyberpunk 2077. It's a good game, I swear. Or Undertale Yellow if you own a toaster. It's me, I own a toaster. I played Cyberpunk on my brother's computer. Thanks, bro. Love you.
#The Adjudicator has spoken.#guess who isn't dead? that's right it's me!#also play armored core 6#also alan wake 2#haven't played either of those games but i want to#alan is so cool. he's a writer struggling with writer's block that loves his wife. man is just like me fr

finally took off the limiters (read: plugged in my tablet instead of just drawing on my phone) so i got to use layers and select tool and an actually workable canvas size so i started with hc/design stuff for the captain. chickenscratch transcriptions and elaboration under the cut. (this old agent 3/captain's name is typhoon and they use they/he!)
it is once again a late-night drawing/posting moment where im choosing to post immediately instead of potentially just not releasing anything bc i got cold feet after waking up the morning after. i'm making an effort to make sense but if anything is not comprehensible or you just want more details, the ask box is open. i'd love to talk about what ive got for any of my characters so far! moving along in about the order i drew/wrote things in, let's start here
left text: "10-year consecutive 'worst posture' award winner."
right text: "(its okay they don't have bones)"
i started off drawing them doing The Thing that is captain's idle pose for the majority of the game but i didnt like the first sketch so i was like "okay i want a Good line of action and then im gonna build around that" and this is what came of it. they just like extremely twisted around and would absolutely be destroying their spine if they had one bc that was just the flow of the sketch apparently. i was gonna also color this but i didnt really like how it was going and i started losing the details of the pose the longer i went (i dont really like how the look of the clothes came out and it probably shows) so i just kind of left it.
right text (it was written first) 1: "eyebrow tapers on the outside / [drawing of a default masculine inkling eyebrow from a front-facing angle, labeled:] in-game default / vs / [drawing of typhoon's eyebrow from the same angle, labeled:] typhoon"
right text 2: "wide eyeshape / [drawing of typhoon's eye from the front without the accompanying inkling mask] / curves higher up than down"
right text 3: "somewhat squared jaw"
right text 4: "(his) right eye (including mask) is damaged from The Goopening still, even five years later"
left text 1: "ears more 'elf ear'-ish / compare"
left text 2: "the kiddos [representing the overall player inkling design, roughly 14]" / "typhoon [who is 21, as they were 14 during the events of splatoon 1, which was 7 years ago now. i dont want to get super long-winded in the middle of transcription so hold these tidbits for a second]¹
left text 3: "squisters"
left text 4: "okay i do actually just wanna draw frye now"
bottom text: "vaguely hostile autistic gaze (there is nothing to point to for this one)"
ive been doing a lot of jumping around fleshing out my splatoon ocs (which currently consists primarily of my agents) and like essentially reentering my splatoon mind. to start with, each of my player agent ocs were on some level self-inserts of differing amounts (i mean theyre literally like. inkfish you to a certain extent. like in many respects theyre pretty much blank slates by design (or lack thereof as promo material just uses one of the default options which are by no means mandatory given the whole player settings screen existing and yknow. being acknowledged. you get it right)) but by now they're pretty separate. there are some more overarching themes to them though that im keeping in, like a sort of longing for identity in the transition from teenager to adult where others seem to be more realized. if that makes sense. finding and wrangling with one's senses of identity and purpose so far is a thing for all of these guys. gee i wonder where that came from. anyways the thought i had to like cut out for flow is actually not going to be that great to do that to bc i was thinking i'd segue into that but i didnt like this next part is more of a design thought
¹my current working hc which informs the designs of my splatoon ocs so far includes the idea that ear shape is something that can vary not just from person to person but also with age and that the thinner, pointed, more traditionally "elf-like" ear (seen in the squid sisters, grandpa cuttlefish, and frye, as examples) might be more common the older an inkling is, compared to the blunter, more equilateral triangle-ish shape from the younger player inklings and others. of importance, this isn't hard and fast, not even to typhoon's design, as i can also very easily come back to it later and be like "hm. yeah i dont actually feel like doing this for them", but i was thinking about the ear shape from that inkling development chart from however many years ago and was like .. okay actually i don't remember what i thought in detail im really about to conk out honestly. but for example, dallas (my agent 4), who's just 2 years younger doesn't have the elf-y ears either (well hes not supposed to, but i dont think it really showed last post 💀) because that's just not how his ears look or will look (likewise for a less fleshed out non-agent character who is also an inkling and of a similar age). not to mention, of course, the many band members who are inklings with the triangular ears, as the idea is again that the elf-ear look becomes More common with age, not that it Is common immediately. even still, though, typhoon's ears arent the exact same shape as callie and marie's either, but more sort of in between them and the player inklings. all this to say, my goal is in part to have some variety more particular to splatoon than just general humanoid frame things outside of the hairstyles bc thats something that i have struggled with and so as it stands im basically tossing things at the wall to see what sticks and either working from there or tearing it all down and starting over.
anyways i like to also draw typhoon's tentacles down. the shapes are fun. sometimes they want them away from their face but sometimes they don't care
long-ass tangent aside, here comes another one unless i immediately decide i would rather be asleep now that it's almost 3am
left 1, ripley (new agent 3): "Are they... okay?"
left 2, callie: "Oh, they're just like that!"
right: "Actually just kind of spacey, they give off a sometimes imposing energy. Bad at communicating otherwise, they tend to just kind of go with it. Overall naturally deadpan, surprisingly oblivious a lot of the time."
i dont know why i started going pokedex mode there but i do know it was before 1am when i wrote that. i have a Bunch of shit written down in various places (personally. i don't have very much more than the barest introductory stuff up yet bc of the fact that im still ironing out a bunch of these things) and it was at this point that i realized i cant really distill it into notes but i'll explain a little bit. splatoon 1 was huge for me as a budding artist and someone like. beginning to actually Think about things? it was the first thing i really found myself world-building with, it was a huge factor in me having realizations about myself, and even if retroactively so (after all, taunt parties were a thing in brawl and i played the shit out of that), got me thinking about video game communication and (likely not the right term) pseudo-languages and a whole bunch of other things. some of these don't directly relate to typhoon's development but what does relate to it is .. oh the train of thought literally disappeared actually. uh.
the text next to the signature: "back at it again with the clipped studio at fucking midnight" [it is 3am now]
oh yeah right shit. neurodivergence. as was bestowed unto me, i hath bestoweth It upon Mine Cephalopodes. that was the train of thought probably. i took the way i end up just kind of Not looking when i start thinking sometimes and exaggerated it to be possibly a little unnerving bc i just think it would be fun to have typhoon just end up looking accidentally a bit creepy bc shit man i be feeling like that sometimes. he just like me fr. i have more words but not the time im sleepy honk shoo
#my art#sketch#colored sketch#splatoon#csp#yeah FUCK you samsung notes (im going to be back to it in a week if even that)#im baring my three squid hearts to yall a little with this one so please dont make 2am me regret this okay? alright? okay.#but yeah this is a warning the section under the cut is long as hell so genuinely buckle in i guess#i bolded the starts of the transcriptions but thats about all i can think to do without messing dangerously with formatting

Rules
HEAD’S UP:
To all of my “loyal followers”: I know you may feel familiar with my rules, but please skim them on every blog you follow. In particular, you will need to scroll down and read everything below the “Guilt-Free Icons” section as they change for each blog. Everything else, yes, will stay the same. Thank you for your time and thank you for following so many of my blogs!
LAST RULE UPDATE: July 16, 2018
Mun
General
My name is Kymani, but most people call me “Kaichu”, “Kai”, or “Ky”. Go with whichever you like! Please note, however, that I will only sign my blogs and asks with "Ky" or the occasional "Kaichu" so as not to be confused with the many 'Kai' users in the world. So if you ever see someone claim to be me while using that spelling... they a lie, fam.
I use she/her pronouns and am a cis female so feel free to correct me if I make any -phobic booboos.
Mun is over 25. I’m happy to share my real age, but not so much to update this with every birthday.
My discord is (not very) selectively available to mutuals. If you choose not to exchange this with me, this is more than fine; please just be aware that I blog hop very inconsistently so I may be hard to reach.
Mun faceclaims are Raichu, Marina (Splatoon 2), Iridessa, and occasionally Kagome Higurashi.
You can find links to all of my other active characters on my mun page.
Health
I have several physical and mental disabilities. These include, but are not limited to, Sickle Cell Anemia, Asthma, Depression, Anxiety, and moderate OCD.
Note that there are some things that will trigger my OCD and therefore I will often choose not to follow you for or unfollow for. They include but are not limited to: uncut posts; icons that aren’t circles or squares (circles/squares with excessive decoration is FINE); using full-sized reaction images; and/or a general lack of organization on the blog. Most of these can be addressed, but I will never pressure a mun to change their style or format for me.
I will generally make or have someone make update posts informing you of my hospitalizations. Sometimes I forget, though. In any case, if I’ve made it clear that I am feeling unwell, do NOT hassle me for replies or an explanation of my situation. I will block people for this.
Be aware: I am a chronically ill person with many characters whose writing schedule is dictated by both her health and muse. I will forget things and disappear/reappear for weeks to even a month at a time from my blogs. As well, I may be very obviously selective/biased, so if this will upset you, my blogs are not for you.
Also note: it is not uncommon for me to unfollow and refollow people but this is not intentional. As I manage tens of blogs, it is easy to forget which blog people will follow me on. If you notice me doing this, feel free to message me and/or block that account.
Lastly, it is incredibly important to understand that due to the fact that I have been on opioids since I was a child, I have impaired memory. I can and will forget things we’ve discussed/written and I just ask for your patience and understanding on this.
I am open to answering questions regarding my health, but I expect you to both know the basics about the diseases and have read THIS PAGE before you approach me.
Last on this point but HUGELY important: please do not approach me with questions or jokes about how many muses I write. It's officially at the point where it's only okay or funny if I do it. Cause the thing is I know you mean it as a complement. I know you do. But the answer, for the record, to that question is this: "The cold hard fact is that I'm no longer healthy enough to attend school or work. So I am at home all day every day with the time (if I am well) to run as many muses as I please and it may be the only thing keeping me sane." So please, just don't make the joke. I'll joke along with you, I'll try not to make you as sad as you just made me, but it makes me really sad to think about and I have to stop pretending it doesn't.
Personals
Do:
Go ahead and follow! I don’t mind as long as you follow the rules. (Breaking them consistently enough to notice will lead to a block though.)
Like RPs if you like them. (But try to make sure my partner’s okay with that, too!)
Send in memes and questions; just don’t expect them to turn into a thread or anything.
Tell me if you’re following on behalf of a side RP blog cause I won’t check/know otherwise! (Only matters if you follow first.)
Don’t:
Reblog my promos.
Reblog my OOC posts.
Reblog my roleplays.
Following
This is a selective and private blog. This means I don’t follow everyone and I only RP with mutuals.
Please do not message me asking for an RP if we are not mutuals. I understand that you’re just reaching out, but it really makes me anxious and I will feel extremely guilty. Therefore, all messages of this kind will be deleted. Repeated attempts will lead to a block.
I will not follow blogs without a rules page. Very very rare exceptions are made for blogs that I know for fact are mobile-only. I am slightly more lenient when it comes to about pages, but only if there is significant writing on the blog for me to read through instead.
I am OC and selectively crossover friendly.
I’m cool with multimuse blogs as long as your muses each have an about page for me to read over. I won’t be making exceptions here simply because I find it impractical to go through the blog and look for writing for each specific muse I want to interact with.
I may several weeks to follow back. This may be due to illness or just not noticing because of how many blogs I run.
I eventually unfollow mutual-only blogs who have not followed me back. This is simply because I like to know I can RP with those on my dash and nothing more.
I do not follow blogs that exclusively use real-life faceclaims (rlfc). I will also not RP with rlfc, so if you have a verse that only uses a rlfc, I won’t RP with it. Please note that this applies to people roleplaying live-action characters, as well. Thanks for understanding.
Interaction & Replies
I am EXTREMELY selective about roleplaying with muns under the age of eighteen. Trying to deceive me about your age will lead to a BLOCK.
I am open to using messaging for OOC interaction at all times. IC interactions must be agreed upon beforehand.
All of my open starters and starter calls are for mutuals only unless otherwise stated. Repeated offenses for non-mutuals liking my starter calls will lead to a block.
I go through my thread tracker whenever my total thread count across all accounts exceeds 11O. I will try to message my partners about threads I drop but understand that I may not always have the energy to do so. You are always welcome to ask about the status of our threads so long as you remain polite and tactful.
Shipping
My blogs will always be multiship.
With that said, I’m almost always a ship-exclusive kind of girl. That means I’ll ship with one version of each character.
I like my ships to develop naturally, so even if it seems like I prioritize friends, know that you can always shoot me an ask and as long as it’s not a notp I’m always open to tossing the characters at each other and giving it a shot.
There are two exceptions to ship exclusivity for me: 1) i’ve decided to do one ship per verse and therefore duplicates are fine or 2) i’m playing a character with a canon ship.
Tags & Triggers
My blogs are never spoiler-free. For TV-show based blogs, the most recent episode aired in its native language will be tagged as a spoiler until the next episode airs. For games, I tag and try to readmore spoilers for a few months. Threads themselves may or may not be tagged if the line is sort of blurry. Always, therefore, read with caution.
I am blocking the tag #Ky Don’t Look/#Ky Dont Look for phobias related to penises, water, and a few other things. It is imperative that you read over my BLOCKED TAGS AND TRIGGERS for full details.
These triggers are often related to trauma and can give me panic attacks and/or depressive episodes. I will gently remind you a few times, but if it becomes a repeated issue, I will unfollow.
If you need anything special tagged or I’ve forgotten something, please let me know! I won’t bite.
NSFW & Smut
Many of my blogs will contain nsfw themes including but not limited to: themes of depression, violence, bullying, etc. These are rarely (if ever) tagged but can be by request.
Themes that are considered to be “trigger-heavy” will always have their own disclaimer.
Regarding smut: sometimes it’s difficult for me, sometimes it’s not. I can be extremely squeamish regarding the topic, so I’m very fickle when it comes to these threads. I ask, very simply, that partners who engage in these types of threads with me understand that I likely won’t finish these threads and that they do not push for replies on these. (Like, ever.) It will make me more self-conscious and, if I’m already panicking about a reply, it will only make it worse.
With that said, I would appreciate it if you didn’t baby me by disallowing me to write these threads. If it makes you personally uncomfortable to write them with me, that’s fine. But it has been deemed a safe and valuable practice by my counselor for me to continue to explore this subject so that, hopefully, I will become more and more comfortable with it. So when I’m interested in writing sexual nsfw, please don’t feel as though you need to shy away from me!
Aside from all of that, general rules apply: I won’t write sexual nsfw with anyone under the age of eighteen. (Although with that said, given my age, I tend to prefer my smut partners to be twenty-one and older. This is a soft rule, though, as my comfort with the partner outweighs a numerical value.) I also will not write any other kind of nsfw with anyone under the age of sixteen.
PS: when it comes to aged up characters, aged up x aged up is okay. aged up x canon adult is not. I am not the kind of person who will get all judgemental if you do it with other people, but I won’t personally engage in it. Understand though that I only consider it to be aging-up if the mun is aging their character beyond the natural progression of time. (So if Character A was 10 when they debuted but would have been 15 by the time they met Character B anyway I don't consider it to be aging-up.) For more of my opinion of the topic, please click here.
Activism & “Drama”
In this house, discussion about x-isms, x-phobias, and injustices as it relates to the roleplay community and/or the pokemon community is NOT considered drama and therefore it will NOT be tagged as such. HOWEVER:
While most of my blogs will NOT have a tag for it at all, should it come up, I will create an #activism tag for the blog. So yes, you will have a tag to block if you are genuinely discomforted by the conversation, but no, I will not conflate it with “drama”.
If you’re reading this on writtenbykaichu or a blog that features a dark-skinned person of color, please be aware that issues such as these are much more likely to be discussed.
Guilt-Free Icons
Yes, I am a mod at guiltfreeicons–Jerry Mod, to be exact.
I will, on very rare occasions, make posts regarding taking requests. Those posts are considered active for 48 hours after the ORIGINAL post was made.
If you need to ask a question about GFI, first read the rules. Then, try contacting us here. If that doesn’t work, contact us here. Most importantly:
Never ever I mean NEVER message me or any of the other mods regarding guiltfreeicons (or making icons for you on the side) on any of our personal or roleplay blogs. We WILL auto-block over this.
Miscellaneous
IMPORTANT: I am currently beta testing for rpthreadtracker.com. Because the beta website could be altered or lost at any time, I will try to backup my threads on the current version of the website. With that said, I will be focusing on using the Beta versions, so please click the [BETA] links first and alert me immediately if they give you any sort of trouble so I can update the trackermod. Thanks guys!
This blog will not RP with male gemsonas--no exceptions.
As a general rule, I am okay with gemlings as long as they are not directly related to Amethyst (daughter, sister, etc.)
I consider Amethyst's canon character development to be incredibly rushed, so on this blog you may feel as though I've knocked her back a few steps. This is so that I may work on her development at a fairer pace. (And yes, if you know me, it is also for the angst.)
Always always always plot out fight threads with me. We don't have to come up with things step-by-step ahead of time, but I expect to stay in contact with you throughout so that we can be on the same terms with where we're going and who's doing what.

An Important Life Update
Welp. I should probably explain why last week wasn’t been much for the blog with the lack of #TodaysWeather posts, and I should probably explain my situation.
For those lazy, I’ll put a tl;dr but you might find interest in what I’m going to do in the future.
tl;dr - I graduated, now making a game, #TodaysWeather guest artist week, backlog ran out, ask-pokeprofs unaffected
For those who wanted to keep reading, don’t worry I’ll make it neat and not a wall of text. O yeah this post is definitely getting deleted after a week.
Oh, you kept reading? That’s good. Okay, now to the actual part. Let’s start with the first part of the tl;dr.
Graduation
[[ Summary: As you saw, I graduated. Precisely on the last week of August, just days after my birthday. You can greet me @fiakaiera or here if you want to congratulate me on that.
[[ Impact: Now, how does this affect ask-pokeprofs? Nothing. Actually, it might improve it a lot better. Since I don’t have anything else to do, I’ll just keep doing what I do.
The Game
[[ Summary: Insane as it is, I don’t have a job, but I am making a game, and I have a year to work on it. If this plan fails, I’ll get a job. Otherwise, this’ll be my job. Right now, I call it Project Peep. If you want me to explain what it is and be relatable I’ll try to explain it here:
1. If you know the sport Spleef inside of playing Minecraft, then it’s like that. 2. If you have played Splatoon, gameplay concepts will be similar but definitely not ink-related or turf-related. Think of all the possibilities.
[[ Proof: Oh, you wanted gameplay now? I actually forgot to archive videos but here’s what I got so far.
1: https://gfycat.com/ScentedLikelyBilby 2: https://gfycat.com/annualdevotedadeliepenguin [[ More: There will be a kickstarter for this. But first, I want to be low-key for a bit then get a playable demo out.
If you want to stay for updates, you can either: • Join my community discord: http://discord.io/kaicafe (#TodaysWeather is there too!) • Be a patron: http://patreon.com/fiaKaiera
#TodaysWeather
[[ Explanation: Whoops. I guess some of you have noticed this huh? There were no #TodaysWeather for days straight? Yeah. My fault. I was working on Project Peep. I keep forgetting about it. I’m glad askcasteliaacademy took over one of them though!
[[ The Artist Week: My way of saying thanks and a way to show other blogs is considering a #TodaysWeather artist week. How do you like that idea? Good?
[[ How to Join: Later in the week, I’ll be announcing this if you want to participate. I was thinking of doing it next week so a few days before that should give way.
The Backlog
If anyone wants to know, ask-pokeprofs runs on a backlog (except for #TodaysWeather) That means, all of the posts are set to publish.
There was supposed to be a major post on Thursday and Saturday. My bad. I actually forgot to finish the rest of the backlog when I got invested in developing Project Peep.
Anyway, I’m sorry I can’t give a preview but it’s almost done. (Patrons have can see this though!)
Expect a new mini-sode after Munday. So Tuesday. Wednesday for the east.
Ask Poképrofs Unaffected
Yep! Sorry to break the groove but starting tomorrow, everything should be in normal schedule, including #TodaysWeather.
I would ask for someone to do today but by the time I’ll post it with the post-edits, I’ll be sleeping and it will definitely be Munday already.
That’s it. See you on a Munday. That’s tomorrow by the way.

30 Day Video Game Challenge Day 28 - Favorite game developer
Having played videogames in various forms for around 30 years, I’ve seen a lot of companies come and go.
Once upon a time, I would’ve put Lucasarts here, because for a long period in the 90s they just seemed to deliver hit after hit with little pause for breath in-between; unfortunately, around the time of the prequel movies they hit a slump from which they never really emerged, culminating in stuff like The Force Unleashed II which wasn’t dreadful, but is certainly unfinished, and that’s a real shame. They wound up shortly after, and now Lucasarts is just a company that manages the Lucasfilm licences for other companies, like the guys who make the Lego Star Wars games.
In my childhood, I was an enormous Sega fan (which will already be evident, I guess, from other stuff in this 30-day challenge). I owned a Game Gear, Megadrive (Genesis), Saturn and Dreamcast at various points, and as a kid growing up in a place with a lot of arcades, I got to play a bunch of some of Sega’s biggest hits, like Virtua Racing, Virtua Fighter, Virtual On, Daytona USA, House of the Dead...
However, today, Sega are a difficult company to pin down. I can’t tell you how weird this STILL looks to me:
Since they became a pure software company, they’ve been different. They lack their previous spirit (which, admittedly, drove them into financial oblivion).
If videogame companies are like ships, then when they go under, it’s like when a ship goes down - solemn, dignified, tinged with sadness. When Sega’s ship starts to go down, it’s on fire, a troupe of naked dancers is prancing about on the keel, an aerobatics team looping overhead to the light of fireworks as the whole thing fits to music by Queen.
Then of course, you have the companies which yo-yo.
Like when everyone hated EA because they released terrible FIFA games in 97, or when everyone loved EA because they released really good sports games in 98, or when everyone hated EA because they withheld their titles from Xbox Live, or when everyone loved EA because they made Dead Space and Mirror’s Edge, or when everyone hated EA because they ruined Bioware... Give it 2-3 years. People will probably like them again.
So where does this leave us? Well, there’s only one company which I feel has been reasonably consistent that whole time.
Ha! No. I love SNK but we don’t quickly forget their mis-steps in the early 3D era.
It might seem a boring choice, but I honestly feel Nintendo have earned this.
Given, not everything they touch turns to gold. For instance, putting region-locking on the 3DS was a real dick move. Even so, I feel even when not quite at their best, Nintendo’s titles have a quality that is pretty unique to them, and when firing on all cylinders, no-one gets close to the joy their games seem to contain.
Some people dislike them because they find their games childish, but as I’ve said earlier in this 30-day, I find a lot of videogames childish that are supposed to be “adult”. I’m past the point in my life where that kinda stuff bothers me - to paraphrase CS Lewis, I’ve moved past the point of yearning to seem grown-up.
Nintendo have a commitment to polish in gameplay. Take something like Splatoon, where even just the act of moving around is fun. That’s emblematic of their ability to take something simple and make it fun, and believe me, that “small” feature is an enormous amount of work to get right.
I once read story, where a developer of Rayman 2 told Miyamoto that they’d reproduced Mario 64′s camera system in the game. He was pretty smug about it until Miyamoto asked “which one?” before explaining to the developer that there were something like 90 different camera implementations in Mario 64, some of them only used in very select parts of the game.
So for that commitment to quality over decades, I’ve got to say that Nintendo’s studios comprise my favourite developer.

🌼🍩👉🍺💣♬💀☕⚠✂🎬🍔💾☂☁🎮🐙🍀
this is too much for me to draw the answers individually…. BUT I’LL ANSWER IN TEXT FORM ANYWAY GAHAHA………….
(if you’re just SOOO curious to see more of my art head over to my deviantart tabberhatter.deviantart.com)
🌼: What are your favorite clothes to wear when you’re relaxing?
a very soft tshirt and some shorts is all I need!! its pretty hot here so that’s the norm, in winter the shorts are replaced with warm pj pants
🍩: What’s your favorite snack?
my favorite changes like, weekly. I’m fickle when it comes to food, my tastes change a lot yet I still manage to be picky. anyway, I like snacking on potato chips with ranch dip
👉: How do you sit when you draw?
it shifts SO OFTEN, like, i constantly move in my seat but my feet are rarely on the floor, at least. im a pretzel is basically what i’m trying to say
🍺: What’s the biggest mistake you make that impacts your art/drawing process?
well I’m not so sure atm, because nowadays I just lack motivation and “mood” to draw, but my biggest mistake that I learned to deal with is the frustration that a picture isn’t looking the way I want to. I’d usually get irritated and give up but I learned the motto of… just tweak it. just keep tweaking and fixing and changing until I am 100% satisfied. I dont allow myself to post anything anymore that I’m not at least 98% satisfied with, everything else just stays in my junk
💣: What site do you think you’re most active on?
tumblr definitely
♬: What do you like to listen to/have on in the background when you draw?
whatever music i’m into at the moment BUT sometimes I dont want to listen to music and just wanna hear someone talk?? in that case I just put on a lets play and draw from there
💀: Show something you drew a long time ago that at the time you were proud of.
i’m kinda tired rn and i can’t find it in my folders but tbh most of my really old art is lost and that makes me sad
☕: Coffee or Tea?
i much prefer coffee
⚠: Have you ever taken an art class?
does high school freshmen art class with a teacher that didn’t actually teach count? otherwise no sigh.... i really wanna take some college art classes....
✂: What’s you astrology sign, zodiac, and MBTI?
wwait isn’t astrology sign the same thing as zodiac? but uh I’m aries and my mbti is infj
🎬: What is your favorite kind of clothing?
REALLY COLORFUL CUTE CLOTHES I can’t stress this enough, my style is so “cute shirt with colorful shorts” kinda deal
🍔: Do you have OCs? If so, which is your favorite?
uhhh yes?? and uhhhh no??? I CANT PICK ANY THEYRE MY CHILDREN
💾: What do you love to draw?
poses, expressions, rough sketches
☂: What do you hate to/can’t draw?
UGH okay so environments are fun to draw occasionally but for every picture??? its just too hard and exhausting OTL
☁: Guilty pleasure?
nnaruto ocs…… i have……17…… now……. and they’re decently fleshed out……… why am i like this literally who cares about naruto
🎮: Do you prefer video games or TV shows/movies?
i dont know? I love watching shows/anime but I also love a lot of video games so I’m not sure. unless you mean like, cable tv and going to the movies then no, give me splatoon
🐙: What do you suggest to beginner artists in terms of work ethic?
keep drawing, draw for yourself, but dont force it. evolving your art shouldn’t be forced, you should stay motivated but if you absolutely have no drive to draw, then dont. keep experimenting!
🍀: How do you become motivated to draw?
honestly recently its been a problem of my circumstances and overall state of mind thats blocking me from working on a picture for more than two hours
thanks so much for asking!! I feel bad for not drawing them out but these are just too many

Nintendo Switch review: An ambitious console missing some pieces
The Nintendo Switch console is impressive hardware, but it lacks games and features
Releasing worldwide March 3, the Nintendo Switch ($300) is more than just a new video game console: It’s a day of reckoning — or a moment of clarity — for arguably the most important company in the history of video games.
The purveyor of legendary franchises and systems struck out with their last home console, the Wii U. An unmitigated disaster, the Wii U simply couldn’t compete with more powerful systems from Sony and Microsoft, and failed to find a home with gamers looking to move past the quirky wand waving of the original Wii. Turns out a tablet you can’t travel with built for a system lacking the biggest games wasn’t a great idea.
The Wii U was more than that, of course. Those of us who took the plunge found bits and pieces of the same magic Nintendo poured into other systems — solid takes on “Mario Kart,” “Super Mario,” “Smash Brothers” and the fresh franchise “Splatoon,” mostly — but the ingenuity, the risk-taking bravado that yielded games like “Wii Sports,” “Metroid” and “Super Mario 64” and systems like the Wii, was M.I.A.
To make up for it, Nintendo has been busy monetizing the hell out of itself. It had last holiday’s biggest toy with the nostalgia-packed NES Classic Edition, shook the mobile world to its core with “Pokemon Go,” and made millions with “Super Mario Run.” But with the Wii U gasping and the handheld 3DS line stagnating, we have all wondered what, exactly, would become of Nintendo the console maker.
A demonstration of how you change the Switch from TV to tablet mode.
The answer is the Switch. Aiming to unite the company’s disparate audiences by pulling double duty as an all-in-one home console/portable machine, the Switch is an interesting proposition. It’s a solution in search of a problem — most gamers function just fine with a console tethered to their entertainment center and a smart something-or-other to entertain them on the go — but Nintendo excels at giving people great things they didn’t realize they totally needed.
Does that describe the Switch? That depends on how much you love the “Legend of Zelda,” because other than one extremely awesome launch game, this smartly designed console isn’t quite ready for prime time.
High-tech tech
Technologically speaking, the Switch is Nintendo growing up.
The console itself is a 6.2-inch touchscreen tablet that can connect to a living room TV or be taken on the go like a traditional handheld device. It’s a solid hunk of tech, with harder angles and more heft than the Wii U tablet. It’s on par with the kind of consumer tech you’d expect from Samsung or Apple, and a far cry from the kid-first feel of the Gamecube and Wii.
The Switch is a stylish piece of tech.
The tablet rests in a small innocuous dock that connects it via HDMI to your TV and via AC adapter to power. Pull the Switch out of the dock and the onscreen image quickly shifts back to the tablet’s screen, ready for your backpack (or the official Switch carrying case … sold separately, naturally.)
The box also comes with two “Joy-Con” controllers, which can be used in various ways to interact with the Switch. Each Joy-Con has a joystick and a few face buttons. One has a “home” button, while the other has a terrifically useful “screenshot” button to instantly grab a shot of whatever’s happening on screen.
Holding one in each hand works fine, though you can also slip them into the included Joy-Con Grip to give them a more stable, classic gamepad feel. The Joy-Cons work when separated, too. Connect the included wrist strap and each Joy-Con becomes a mini-controller tailored for Wii-like party-based games. Alternately, you can slide the Joy-Cons into the tablet itself, effectively making it a giant Game Boy.
The result is occasionally fiddly but mostly brilliant. Slipping the Joy-Cons into the tablet yields a satisfying ‘snap’, and the system recognizes every other controller configuration remarkably quickly. The Joy-Cons are dripping with tech — accelerometers, infrared motion detection, gyro sensors, advanced “rumble” feedback — and while they’re a bit on the small side, jamming them into the Grip works in a pinch for bigger hands.
The Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers.
Better still, the Switch’s conceptual premise works wonderfully out in the wild. I traveled for a few days with my Switch and it felt like an extremely fancy handheld; I returned home, popped it back into the dock, and it felt like a console. There’s really no difference in the experience; if anything, games look a bit sharper and tend to run a bit smoother in tablet mode.
The device’s multi-functional, grab-and-go approach could have fallen on its face, but Nintendo went all out to make the Switch feel like a mature, confident piece of tech. It’s truly the switch-hitter it set out to be.
Power down
It’s not a home run, however.
For a system Nintendo hopes players will take on the road, the Switch doesn’t hold a very long battery charge. This varies from game to game, but in testing “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” (the game every Switch owner will be playing for the next three months), Nintendo’s previously revealed three-hour battery life statement holds true. That’s pretty meager for a handheld device.
The Joy-Cons require their own charge; re-attaching them to the tablet while it’s charging will do the trick, though Nintendo overlooked a pretty common use case by failing to include a way to charge the controllers and continue playing while the tablet is docked. You can connect them to the included Grip, but that’s just a formed piece of plastic and cannot connect to any power source.
The solution? You’ve got a few. The cheapest is to just remove the tablet from the dock, connect the Joy-Cons to the tablet, connect the tablet to a power source and play with the system as a portable until they’re charged. Alternately, you can buy another accessory, the Joy-Con Charging Grip ($30), which is identical to the standard Grip except for a small USB-C port included on the top.
The Nintendo Switch’s Pro controller might be your best bet for games like ‘Zelda.’
Your best bet may be to buy yet another accessory, the pricey Switch Pro Controller ($70). It’s expensive, but is a much better gamepad for action games like “Zelda (the one game you will be playing, remember) and can be plugged right into the dock for charging while playing.
These are the sorts of problems most consoles don’t worry about, but I guess if you insist on delivering a million ways to interact with a console, it’s bound to get fussy. And while annoying, none of these are deal breakers, especially when compared to the Switch’s sync issue.
Sync or swim
Sadly, at the time of writing there is very clearly a hardware issue affecting the way the Switch recognizes the Joy-Cons.
All is well when you play the system as a handheld. But when playing with detached Joy-Cons, I occasionally experienced a noticeable interruption in the Joy-Con’s responsiveness. This was primarily with the left Joy-Con (the one most games use for movement), and seems tied to physically obstructing the wireless connection. Simply crossing my legs while playing and holding the left Joy-Con below my knee resulted in some connection errors – and a few untimely deaths in “Zelda.”
The Switch can be used in Table mode for on-the-go multiplayer games.
Reports from many other outlets confirm this isn’t just about my particular review unit. Perhaps it will be fixed in the system’s pending Day One patch (more on that later), though Nintendo has yet to issue a formal response. Ultimately it’s something you can deal with, but it’s there, and it’s impossible to overlook.
Game drain
The same can be said for the Switch’s woefully anemic launch lineup.
Console launch lineups are typically pretty bad, often a hodgepodge of old and new risk-averse games. But only 10 are available for the Switch on launch day. That is ridiculously paltry. The Wii U had 23 launch titles. The PlayStation VR had 30. The Xbox One totaled 22, there were 25 for the PS4, and 21 for the Wii (not counting the 12 classic games that came with the launch day Virtual Console).
Worse, only one of those games is really worth the price of admission. The thing is, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is such an outrageously good game, it almost makes up for the other nine. I’m not reviewing “Zelda” here (our review posts on March 2) but suffice to say it is the biggest, boldest “Zelda” ever, a game-changer for the venerable series, and one that joins “Tetris,” “Super Mario Bros.,” “Super Mario 64,”and “Halo” in the launch game all-time top 5.
‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ is the only exceptional launch game for the Switch. But it’s incredibly exceptional.
The rest of the lineup, however, is an all-time stinker. “1-2 Switch,” Nintendo’s minigame callback to the system-selling “Wii Sports,” is a shockingly low-rent and wildly overpriced ($50) collection of 30 mindless tech demos. It tries way too hard to turn the Switch into a party system, constantly urging you to look at the other player instead of the screen. During the lousy ping-pong minigame, a disembodied narrator instructed me to “imagine a table, and a ball” as I pretended to play ping-pong. Considering the state of gaming in 2017, asking gamers to “imagine graphics” is not, as the kids say, lit. Or as people my age say, cool.
It gets less interesting as you peruse the list. Obligatory Switch versions of previously released games like “Just Dance 2017” and “Skylanders: Imaginators” aren’t very exciting, and while I appreciate the terrific indie “Shovel Knight,” it dates back to 2014. “Super Bomberman R” is just more “Bomberman.” Even the best of the rest, the charming puzzler “Snipperclips,” is pretty lightweight.
So, it’s “Zelda” or bust. For millions, that will be just fine; “Breath of the Wild” is big and deep enough to warrant many months of play and exploration. And of course there are more coming. Nintendo expects 60 indie games to hit the Switch this year alongside a few big first-party games like “Splatoon 2,” the boxing game “Arms,” and surefire holiday hit “Super Mario Odyssey.”
‘1-2 Switch’ is nowhere near as good as ‘Zelda.’
But considering the slow rollout of software for the Wii U and Nintendo’s long-standing problem of getting third-parties on board with its consoles, a crummy launch lineup isn’t helping redefine the company as a major hardware player.
Space saver
The good news is that the OS powering the Switch is pleasantly streamlined and minimalist. Retail games, which come on tiny cartridges dwarfed by even a 3DS cart, load astonishingly quickly. Navigating menus is a breeze, and there’s no crazy, confusing Wii Plaza or anything to jumble up the screen.
Problematically, the system only ships with 32 GB of memory. Though retail games won’t take up any space at all (on other consoles they eat up install space), downloadable games will gobble that up quickly. A digital version of “Zelda” alone will take up about 13 GB.
The Nintendo Switch’s game cartridges are almost shockingly small.
The memory can be expanded with micro SDXC or SDHC cards, and while the price of those is a bit steep currently (a 256 GB card will set you back $150 or so), there is at least an upgrade path here. If you’re planning to download a lot of games — and considering that digital downloads are only growing in popularity compared to traditional retail boxes, you probably are — expect to pay extra.
Feature story
But for all we know about the Switch, there remains a deep well of questions.
The Nintendo Switch we received for review was missing many features, including access to the digital eShop, the ability to make and manage Friends and any functional online play. These features (and possibly more) are reportedly coming in a Day One patch. We’ll update this review as soon as we can check it out.
But even assuming basics like Friends codes and a digital storefront work, the Switch is lacking key features at launch. The Virtual Console, Nintendo’s gateway to loads of classic games from their vast library, will not launch alongside the system. If you still have funds in the digital wallets of your 3DS or Wii U, you’ll be able to access that money to use with the Switch, provided you link up your accounts. But Nintendo still won’t say if you’ll gain access to your old Virtual Console purchases. Considering that the VC stretches back to the Wii, being asked to re-purchase old games you have possibly purchased a few times already isn’t particularly consumer-friendly.
Also notable is the lack of any non-gaming apps at launch. No Netflix, no Spotify, nothing beyond games. For some this will be a breath of fresh air — we don’t need every streaming service on every device, do we? — but considering the console’s portability, its potential to replace, say, an iPad on a work trip is mitigated.
Playing console games on the go is an enticing reason to buy the Switch.
More concerning is the lack of a comprehensive online gaming network. Nintendo is planning to roll out an Xbox Live/PSN-like service this fall, but has yet to deliver any details regarding price, social features or caveats. Nintendo has never been great with online play, but to zone out on such a core console ingredient seems at best foolish and at worst tragic.
Switch owners might not be built of the same stuff as competitive “Call of Duty” players, but the basic ability to play games or interact with friends online has been part of the console experience for many years now. Nintendo had an opportunity to grab this particular bull by the horns and redefine our expectations; instead, we’re all left wondering what the future holds.
The verdict
So what does it hold? Where will the Switch be in three years? And more crucially, should you buy in on Day One (or whenever units become available again)?
I want to say yes. I desperately want people to experience “Zelda,” a shoo-in for Game of Year contention. It’s that good, and it serves as a reminder that when it comes to building killer video games, Nintendo is still among the best in the business.
But when it comes to building a polished console ecosystem, they’re lost in Gerudo Valley. As great as “Zelda” is, it’s not worth $360 (plus it’s releasing on the Wii U, which you might already own). With few other games worth your attention, tons of missing features and a potentially problematic hardware glitch, the Switch doesn’t make a great first impression.
I have faith that Nintendo will solve some of this stuff, and that we’ll see a number of great games down the line. The Switch’s hybrid functionality is genuinely cool, and the core tech is some of the best Nintendo has ever built. But until we really see the software flow and the network flourish, it remains a system making big promises that it might not keep. We’ve seen Nintendo play this game before. Here’s hoping they quickly learn how to win it again.

Rules
To those of you who are new, thank you for taking the time for stopping by. I know--I know these rules are long, but I've had them tested by many friends to ensure that they are all necessary. There is no password, so please take your time and I'll see you on the other side!
LAST RULE UPDATE: December 09, 2018
Mun
Mun faceclaims are Raichu, Marina (Splatoon 2), Iridessa, and occasionally Kagome Higurashi or Jerry Mouse.
They include but are not limited to: uncut posts; icons that aren’t circles or squares (circles/squares with excessive decoration are FINE); using full-sized reaction images; and/or a general lack of organization on the blog.
Be aware: I am a chronically ill person with many, many characters whose writing schedule is dictated by both her health and muse.
Also, it is incredibly important to understand that due to the fact that I have been on opioids since I was a child, I have impaired memory.
Very rare exceptions are made for blogs that I know for fact are mobile-only. I am slightly more lenient when it comes to about pages, but only if there is significant writing on the blog for me to read through instead.
I am OC and selectively crossover friendly.
I’m cool with multimuse blogs as long as your muses each have an about page for me to read over. I won’t be making exceptions here (unless i already know the writer) simply because I find it impractical to go through the blog and look for writing for each specific muse I want to interact with.
I may several weeks to follow back. This may be due to illness or just not noticing because of how many blogs I run.
I eventually unfollow mutual-only blogs who have not followed me back. This is simply because I like to know I can RP with those on my dash and nothing more.
I do not follow blogs that exclusively use real-life faceclaims (rlfcs). I will also not RP with rlfcs, so if you have a verse that only uses a rlfc, I won’t RP with it.
I go through my thread tracker periodically and try to keep my total thread count (across all accounts) under 11O. I will try to message my partners about threads I drop but understand that I may not always have the energy to do so. You are always welcome to ask about the status of our threads so long as you remain polite and tactful.
Shipping
My blogs will always be multiship.
With that said, I’m on some occasions a ship-exclusive kind of girl. That means I’ll ship with one version of each character. I will always announce if this is going to be the case.
I like my ships to develop naturally, so even if it seems like I prioritize friends, know that you can always shoot me an ask and as long as it’s not a notp I’m always open to tossing the characters at each other and giving it a shot.
Blogs that are considered to be “trigger-heavy” will always have their own disclaimer.
I will only be writing sexual nsfw on discord with 18+ muns that I am comfortable with.
Regarding smut: sometimes it’s difficult for me, sometimes it’s not. I can be extremely squeamish regarding the topic, so I’m very fickle when it comes to these threads. I ask, very simply, that partners who engage in these types of threads with me understand that it is common for me not to finish these threads and I ask that they do not push for replies on these.
(And, you'll be comforted to know that I am already seeing progress!) So when I’m interested in writing sexual nsfw, please don’t feel as though you need to shy away from me!
Activism & “Drama”
In this house, discussion about x-isms, x-phobias, and injustices as it relates to the roleplay community and/or the fandom is NOT considered drama and therefore it will NOT be tagged as such.
When it comes to battles, I write with a mix of Anime & Game canon. For that reason, I expect to have full communication with my partners throughout the battle.
I’m always open to writing Gym/Championship Battles, but I’ll only write one or two at a time.
Underestimating my character will just generally lead to a bad time.
Note that there will likely continue to be a lot of Iris and Pokeani related salt on this blog. It’s always tagged, but you have been warned.
Always always always plot out fight threads with me. We don’t have to come up with things step-by-step ahead of time, but I expect to stay in contact with you throughout so that we can be on the same terms with where we’re going and who’s doing what.

Last week in tech: Listen to our new podcast
Keeping up with tech news is hard. New products show up, big companies make sweeping announcements, and Elon Musk casually mentions his latest insane ideas on a weekly basis. That’s why we do these weekly wrap-ups. Now, however, we have expanded this helpful content into a podcast called Last Week in Tech. Please check out the first episode on SoundCloud or iTunes. Our boss said if we were going to sit around arguing about technology all the time, we had to “make it into content” because it’s our job or whatever, so it would really help us out.
It’s an experimental project for now, but it gives us, the PopSci tech team, a chance to dig deeper into the most important, interesting, or just entertaining stuff from the tech world. In the future, you can count on improved audio quality, more spirited discourse, and me continuously trying to coin catch phrases.
Now, on to the stories.
Philips now makes Hue lights for outside
Connected light bulbs are often one of the first steps folks take into the realm of smart home devices. Now, Philips is expanding its popular line of Hue lights into people’s yards. The new outdoor lights work on the same platform as the typical Hue lightbulbs, and models include spotlights, wall-mounted fixtures, and illuminated pillars to line walkways. You can control them with Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa, and the new products include both white and colored lights. So, if you want to trick your neighbors into thinking a UFO is landing in your yard, this is your chance.
Amazon’s Alexa started laughing randomly, but Amazon fixed it
If your Amazon Echo devices started cackling for no reason last week, then you weren’t alone. Amazon officially addressed the issue and changed Alexa’s laugh, as well as the prompt required to evoke it. Many people wondered why Alexa needed to laugh in the first place, so we asked an expert.
Lots of weird new cars showed up in Switzerland
The Geneva Auto Show is happening right now in Switzerland, but most of the new rides have already been announced. You can check out our round-up of the notable announcements here, including some truly impressive stuff from Aston Martin, as well as a vehicle referred to as a “self-driving living room.”
Some Penguins found a camera and it was adorable
You can achieve some truly magical things if you leave a running camera near some interesting wildlife. The latest example of this phenomenon comes from the Australian Antarctic Division. The video shows a couple emperor penguins investigating the camera and creating a video that’s equal parts fascinating and adorable. Watch the video here.
Elon Musk said some cryptic stuff about Hyperloop
Remember when Elon Musk said his underground tunnels would whoosh cars around on subterranean skates? Well, plans have apparently changed, as Elon says the Boring Company will concentrate on moving people instead of their vehicles. That might change again, of course, and we’ll probably all find out about it via Twitter.
An Apple patent shows potential for an improved keyboard
The keyboards on the latest model MacBook Pro haven’t garnered much love from users or reviewers because of their flat nature, lack of space between the keys, and their propensity to jam up when debris like crumbs gets inside. A newly-public patent, however, shows Apple’s plan for keeping junk out of the sensitive underside, which would allow the butterfly switches to flap freely. We don’t know if this will ever see real life.
Smash Bros. is coming to Nintendo Switch this year
Nintendo recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the excellent Switch console. As part of the celebration, the company released a teaser for the upcoming Smash Bros. title. The teaser focuses on a pair of characters from Nintendo’s popular Splatoon franchise, who will presumably join the cast of the game. Now might be a good time to buy a rugged case for your Switch controllers in case you throw them down in frustration after a tough match.
Samsung announced its new TVs as a part of your smart home
TV announcements can be droll and boring, but Samsung tried its best to spice up the unveiling of its 2018 QLED TVs. One of the biggest new additions is Ambient Mode, which turns your television into a huge smart screen that displays things like weather and headlines from the New York Times. The new sets also got support for Samsung’s smart assistant, Bixby, and integration into the SmartThings connected device platform. Samsung is slowly but surely building a foundation for a cohesive smart home, which is great if you love giant screens in every room of your house (we do).
Leica made an all-black camera that I want, but can’t afford
For those who are unfamiliar, Leica is a renowned camera company with a history of making insanely limited special edition models. Its latest is an all-black version of its Leica M Monochrom, which only shoots black-and-white digital photos. The camera is a collaboration with fashion company rag & bone, and it’s almost entirely black, except for a few markings on the lens and body, which glow in the dark. It’s wildly impractical in a variety of ways, including its run of just 125 and its $15,750 price. It sure is pretty, though.

Dementium Remastered Review - 3DS EShop
Dementium Remastered Review - 3DS EShop
All sarcasm apart, ARMS intrigues me with its cartoonish personality layouts and Stretch Armstrong-like boxing. Nintendo eShop Cards be available in eye-catching Mario as well as Zelda styles. We all have a damp place in our underclothing for the splendor days of the NES/SNES, however it remained in the Wii/DS age that Nintendo was at their most successful. Old reports regarding a sales prepare that Nintendo has actually passed for years might have some credibility to it. There you have it, a few things that are definitely expected today as well as a few a lot more that might feature. Many are asking if these can be purchase in your area or online, why there are sites like this one that use it free of cost? Ideal Acquire's not simply going to be a haven for the Xbox One as well as PS4 systems, however likewise one for eShop card cost savings. We're going right into among the biggest purchasing weeks of the year, yet Nintendo's eager to fit those that do not feel like venturing out right into congested stores. On paper this sounds like a welcome choice, yet in technique it obscures the lines in between actively playing the game and also just going via the repetitive movements of each phase without struggle whatsoever.
Accompanying the handsome art style is a soundtrack that likewise suits the tone of the game that, while limited, is a terrific suitable for the journey. Discussion isn't really where this game beams, with really simplified menu systems and story delegated a minimum, yet the art style and also animation of the characters will maintain you attracted to the job available. After seeing to it you prepare to go from a technological viewpoint, locate the eShop icon on your Residence Menu and also click it. Our system immediately mark every complimentary Eshop code that has been downloaded and install from other individual as "Claimed Eshop Code". I've highlighted the high quality of the Switch's 6.2-inch, 720p display for mobile video gaming in previous items, and also the quality display still attracts attention after simply over a week with the system. You could sneak around enemies and also run away unseen, or you could purposely lead them away, shed them, and also waltz over to your target undisturbed. While this bite-sized 3DS release stands alone as a totally various task, it reaches large and attracts impact from all over the Inti Creates brochure. You obtain totally free 3DS video games, test it, and also if you really like it, after that get a physical duplicate of the game.
Like many points that weren't consisted of, it looks like the perfect thing to offer to individuals in package, though in this specific case it's not virtually as much of an issue as I assumed it would certainly be. Overview Linda as she moves in between the globes of individuals as well as vampires as you explore cooling places, discover surprise items, and also resolve mind bending problems. Check out randomly-generated globes as well as develop outstanding points from the most basic of the homes of the grandest of castles. Nintendo Switch: Will the Supply Concern Be a Success for Nintendo? The Joy-Cons, as Nintendo has actually dubbed these devices, are rather merely one of the most creative as well as versatile controllers that it has ever before delivered with a maker. Splatoon's event as well as conversation systems are quite terrible, and it's method too hard to casually play with a group. These aren't all it's either. Striking left or best cycles via your available weapons in order, striking down will always bring up your flashlight, as well as begging will certainly raise the last tool you had out before you brought out the light.
Nintendo and Capcom has likewise claimed that Megeman Legends 3: Model will certainly be readily available the very same day. Tiny, rounded capture, home, plus, and also minus switches sit between them, set up around a Nintendo Switch logo design. You'll usually locate yourself working your back from completion objective just to find out whether you intend to tip on or prevent a button right in front of you. Bowser and his Kids restore the Mayhem kid he Mushroom Kingdom and also Mario and his Brother Luigi should assist. Sadly there's not a good deal of selection in enemy or atmosphere types. I question I'll get it, although I am in fact lured to as a result of the major lack of launch titles, which I'll speak about later on. The best ways to get cost-free animal culture cash? Full Download and install Free Nintendo EShop Codes Get Everythin Completely free 2017 VIDEO CLIP as well as Gamings With Gameplay Walkthrough As well as Tutorial Video clip HD.
Area Harrier 3D was the first of Sega's efforts to provide its remarkable gallery profile a brand-new lease of life on the Nintendo 3DS, and also it's being complied with by one more beloved coin-op smash-hit: Super Hang-On. But through that aspiration, Nintendo has actually produced an interesting crossbreed that appears to pull mobile pc gaming upward a lot more than it drags house console video gaming downward. To activate your Nintendo eShop Card, select "Include credit" in the Nintendo eShop. I can't wait to obtain shed in this globe come March. Which Wii Classic are you most thrilled about? Well below is view website : those ads you see are from sponsors (marketers) and also they desire to promote their items. You could go to the site directly right here. It could update when video game upgrade. It likewise implies you could more quickly avoid grabbing undesirable replacements for your sub-weapon. Your weaponry is limited to the Blade and the Spur, which limits your defensive alternatives when the display promptly loaded with jerkface flying insects that like to knock you to your death. It additionally saw the revival of Accident Bandicoot and a few of his chums in the game, which was probably the coolest thing ever before. An one-of-a-kind 12 number Close friend Code is immediately appointed.

Horsing around
After watching the Darksiders III trailer I’m surprised Gunfire Games didn’t take the opportunity to retcon out Vigil’s bizarre decision to rename Famine and Pestilence. Instead we are left with a game featuring that famed horse rider of the Apocalypse, Fury (the other one is Strife).
The series has always seemed weirdly reluctant to make full use of the cool premise of the Four Horsemen battling against Heaven and Hell. Darksiders II was set largely in a fairly generic fantasy world with the Apocalypse pushed into the background and Death portrayed as an elite warrior rather than the actual Grim Reaper.
I don’t know if they’re just worried about stirring up religious controversy, but I can’t help but feel the setting would be more interesting if it went deeper into the Book of Revelation inspirations. TGN Professor
GC: It’s almost certainly the religious aspect, particularly with regards to the American market. As you imply, we can’t help but feel they would’ve been better off making up their own fantasy universe from scratch.
Stuck in time
Hooray!
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been playing through Darksiders, having enjoyed the sequel a few years ago. I was just thinking about what they could do for a third entry then saw the news about the new game which is great. Although watching the IGN reveal trailer I’m a little disappointed to see that the story doesn’t seem to have moved on at all.
Darksiders has you as War trying to clear your name. Darksiders II has you as Death in a concurrent story to the first game – trying to clear War’s name. The trailer for Darksiders III starts with War in chains, so it looks like his name is still not cleared yet?! Don’t tell me Fury now has to clear his name!
I was also thinking the format might have changed slightly. It’s probably a bit ambitions for a smaller studio (assuming Gunfire Games are smaller studio compared to a company like Bungie) but maybe they could have or will do something like a four-player co-op where you each play one of the horsemen and have to take on Destiny style raid dungeons. Anyway, can’t wait to hear a bit more info.
If Darksiders III does OK, it’s pretty certain we’ll eventually get a fourth staring Strife but let’s just hope it’s not all about clearing War’s name again! PsillyPseudonym (PsillySeudonym – gamertag)
GC: According to IGN it’s ‘set around the same time as the events of Darksiders II’, so we think you’re right. It certainly doesn’t look like War’s name has been cleared in the trailer.
Big impression
Can I just say what a wonderfully creepy game Little Nightmares is. I think walking through the dark with all the mannequins around toward the end was great/nerve racking!
But I’d also like to draw people’s attention to the PS Store, where, if like me, you were happy with the news of a third Darksiders game there is a bundle of both remastered games for £16. Which considering it’s £16 for the first one alone is pretty good! Liam
Furniture land
Thank god Bethesda chose to release a Prey demo, indeed. Wanted to write in to defend against Phil’s point. I was always planning on getting Prey based on the premise, alone but was probably going to wait for some sales first.
After playing the demo on hard difficulty I was not disappointed by the previews suggesting it was ‘a thinking man’s game’, which is undoubtedly a dig at the Call Of Duty crowd. It was a challenge of nerve and mind, like a cross between Garry’s Mod prop hunt and The Thing. I raised my wrench against any and all mugs and chairs. Playing with headphones on, even mop buckets I knew were black spiders made me touch cloth because of that damn music sting!
After multiple playthroughs of the demo I now have a good idea of what skill trees to level up (hacking seems like a very useful starting point) and have now pre-ordered the game (£40 on Amazon Prime). Really looking forward to exploring the rest of the game and I hope it’s not too short. And I’m really glad Bethesda decided to release a demo.
They got extra money out of me by doing so, as the demo convinced me to buy as soon as possible because it is so different from the majority of other first person shooters available now. I never got round to playing Dishonored 2, so I can’t comment how much of a clone Prey may be to it but I like Arkane and hope they do well. Beware the chair! Stretchy Grunt
The second year
I’m seriously beginning to wonder whether the Nintendo Switch could be a hit on the scale of the Wii. Every time we hear a new story about it the situation seems even more positive than before. And despite what it seemed like before launch I think the release schedule is working out pretty well, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe clearly off to a great start and Splatoon 2 likely to do very well too. I’m not so sure about ARMS, but I’m beginning to think it won’t be ignored as others were predicting a few months ago.
But of course with E3 approaching it only makes me wonder more about what Nintendo has coming up next. Super Mario Odyssey should be the perfect way to end the year but what about after that? We know about literally nothing at the moment and they’ve already used up all their biggest franchises: Zelda, Mario Kart 8, and Super Mario. If Nintendo think they can follow that up with second-stringers like Pikmin and Kirby then I would’ve hoped they’d learned their lesson by now.
Maybe a new Metroid, since it’s been so long since we’ve had a proper one, but they need to keep with the new franchises. Splatoon worked out great and ARMS might do too. That’s what we need more of, not diminishing returns with a new Donkey Kong and a new Star Fox, until they get down to franchises not even their biggest fans care about. The Switch in 2017 seems to be working out great but it’s the Switch in 2018 I’m worried about now. Goose
You get what you pay for
Well, I just bought one of them retro game controllers from Argos with 200 games on it (you know the one where it’s in the shape of a joypad the size of a matchbox, priced at a tenner). However, I wasn’t expecting much for the price. Unfortunately, I will never know because my two-year-old LG 4K UHD smart telly hasn’t got the phono plugs to plug the game controller in so I can play it.
Now I not what you’re all going to say – why didn’t you go and get a converter to play the Damon thing? So off I went to my local Maplin store, only to be told it would cost me around £50 to buy a converter so I can see it on my screen. Or go and buy a new telly with the phono jacks already built into it. I wouldn’t mind but the whole gaming box only cost me a tenner in the first place.
So my question is how do other people manage to have all these other retro gaming devices like your new retro Ataris, Mega Drive, and the Nintendo gadgets to work on their tellies, because mines at least two-years-old now and surely any newer telly made after mine is just not compatible for these latest retro-crazed gaming devices to be played on due to the phono plugs. JAH
GC: We don’t know about the others but the NES Mini uses a HDMI cable. We assume you bought this, but it doesn’t seem to contain any real retro games – just a bunch of cheapo Flash games (there’s a PDF list here).
Oldest school
All this talk of remasters from gaz be rotten has got me thinking. I’d like to see much older games put onto games consoles, ones that were invented long before video games.
When I was growing up in Mevagissey many years ago my mates and I used to enjoy a jolly game of Poohsticks. I sure that some sort of video game could be made out of that.
Here’s hoping for some Inbox magic The Dark Fud

Making the list
I have just finished playing Titanfall 2 and although it’s a great game, it doesn’t quite beat the other multiplayer shooters I’ve played in recent years.
My list goes in reverse order: 4. Titanfall 2 3. Overwatch 2. Star Wars: Battlefront (controversial!) 1. Splatoon (of course)
I’ve got a feeling not everyone will agree with that list. One thing I’ve noticed in all four games is the lack of emphasis or downright absence of a free-for-all mode. Titanfall 2 obviously has one, but the wait for a match was 10 times longer than the team modes – making it very unappealing to actually play. Free-for-all used to be the only game in town, with several different variants, but slowly it is being wiped out by team modes/games.
It seems a real shame as I am naturally a lone wolf player and free-for-all is a much more fitting mode for me to play. Not that I don’t enjoy team games at all, with Splatoon my favourite game ever, but I miss the more cutthroat and chaotic play of having everyone out to get you. Free-for-all is something I’d love to see as an option in Splatoon 2, I’m sure they could find a way to make it work. Ryan O’D PS: I know some would cry foul that they weren’t included already, but I hope they release new DLC tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

What’s everyone assuming Bethesda’s two new games at E3 are? Wolfenstein must be one of them, but what’s the other? The Evil Within 2 by the sound of the rumours I’d say. Ollie

This week’s Hot Topic
The subject for this weekend’s Inbox was suggested by reader Steiner, who asks how much money do you spend on gaming a month?
Do you have a specific budget that you stick to, or some other kind of system to make sure you don’t spend too much at once? What do you do when multiple games come out at the same time? And do you try and have money in reserve for the launch of new consoles and other hardware?
What percentage of your games do you buy for full price and how much do you take advantage of sales? Do you resell your games or buy second-hand, and how are your habits changing as digital downloads become more prominent?

In terms of 3DS games information, Nintendo is possible to show extra about upcoming method sports Fireplace Brand Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
And who is aware of, perhaps Nintendo will discuss upcoming cellphone game Animal Crossing.
How to Overcome Nintendo 3DS Addiction (Or Gaming Addiction in Genera
Gaming dependency is a real trouble. Frequently it influences game enthusiasts who play games on the Pc, Xbox 360 or PS3 extra than something else, but it’s far viable to get addicted to the Nintendo 3DS, and it’s a situation that calls for special care, patience and a true willingness to wean yourself off your dependency.
Earlier than getting started though I might like to point out that, in case you are hooked on the Nintendo 3DS or you know a person who’s addicted to the Nintendo 3DS are seeking for expert help. I’m now not a psychiatrist, I am sincerely a gamer who has, at times, were given a bit too connected to certain gaming reports but have come out the opposite side.
I still accept as true with video games are a great shape of amusement which could blend fantastic memories, attractive imagery, and a powerful social experience, however if you’re regularly sinking three+ hours into video games in keeping with day then you have to likely work at taking manipulate of your obsession, mainly if this dependency is taking away from other aspects of your lifestyles (like clearly creating something real in comparison to the by and large passive entertainment of gaming).
Right here are some strategies to help you triumph over a Nintendo 3DS dependency, or dependency to surely any form of the online game:
Provide yourself a greater aim. Video games are rife with targets and a sense of motive, however, once these objectives update success inside the real world they become risky. Take a seat lower back with a pen and paper and ask yourself: what do I need to do with my existence? Permit your self-dream massive and do not censor yourself. Ambitious purposes are more likely to be attained. You could also want to examine The Magic of Questioning large with the aid of Dr. David Schwartz.
Put off video games out of your surroundings. This will imply you without a doubt Deliver away or throw out your Nintendo 3DS, however, there may be Often plenty of resistance to that form of drastic action. As an alternative, select a nice region (preferably in a one-of-a-kind country) and deal with yourself to a brief excursion. Extend this for as long as you may. The factor is to disconnect yourself from the net, generation and gaming common. Dispose of the “pills” from your presence and you may find it highly clean to relieve your reliance on them.
Construct your self-confidence. I recognize exactly why I would sink hours and hours into video games when I used to be more youthful: it boosted my self-worth. They have managed environments in which it somewhat inevitable to subsequently win and as a consequence experience excellent about myself. Self-esteem is not something you may Build in a single day, but you would possibly want to read 6 Pillars of self-worth to get you to your way. Whilst you feel precise about yourself you may stay responsibly and be less stricken by addictions and impulses.
Overcoming dependency to the Nintendo 3DS (or gaming in widespread) cannot be summed up in 500 phrases. That is a worldwide problem that quite a few humans face. You or the sufferer isn’t always alone and there is lots of help available. Gaming dependency can be beaten.
