hi sameera! how are you? could i ask u a random question? i've been having issues with tags and my edits aren't showing up in any of them and it's so frustrating, do u know how can i solve this? thank you!

hi!!! i'm doing okay, thank you for asking ❤️ i'm so sorry you're having issues with the tags, i've been there many times in the past and it's truly the Worst. from my experience, there's a few reasons why it might happen:

widespread tumblr glitch (not sure if this is the case bc i haven't been very active on here lately and i haven't posted gifs/edits in a hot minute, but it's possible that this is affecting other users too!)

issue with one of the gifs/photos in your post (this has happened to me way too many times. to fix it i'll first try deleting and re-posting the edit. if that doesn't work, i'll remove each photo/gif from the post one by one until the edit appears in the tags. then i reopen the gif that's causing the issue in photoshop and delete a few frames, which usually resolves it.)

too many tags in your post/long tags/tags with special characters (make sure you have a maximum of 20 tags and that they're all relatively short. i'm sure you know this already but i'm putting it out there just in case!)

tumblr being tumblr and fucking with you for no reason (🫠)

sometimes there's no rhyme or reason as to why edits don't show up in the tags; i've had experiences where the tags weren't working at all for me, and then i tried again the next day and the post instantly showed up in the tags without fail. so i'd try everything above and if none of that works, try posting again in a few hours/days.
