I firmly believe that Elwing bullied her (and Eärendil's) way into Mandos - looking disturbingly like Lúthien when she did - that she got to see Elros one more time before he passed beyond the circles of the world.

#Elwing #Eärendil #Elros #Elwing: *banging at the figurative door of Mandos*#Mandos: *having war flashbacks*#I don't generally like ideas of 'x bullying their way in Mandos and dragging y out'#because there usually is a reason y stays there #like their deaths were so traumatic they need time to recover #or their actions fully warrant it #the Living being able to visit Mandos undermines the gravity and meaning of death for the Elves #and x doing the dragging is ultimately pretty selfish #it's either against y's mental well-being or it demeans justice #but in the case of Elwing seeing her son who was taken from her for one last time #I think it is warranted #and I don't care if that makes me biased in Ewling's behalf
