I’m late but I just wanna say that I love the terrifying athlete quote. I think it might be one of my fave things he’s ever said. And the first time I came across it, I read it out of context and didn’t know when or where he said it so when I got to that part of the rodcast I was like 😲 because I didn’t know that he had actually said it in front of Tessa and her reaction to hearing him say that about her is so 🥺

So let’s just re-establish something:

They think THE MOTHER EFFING WORLD OF EACH OTHER!!

There are too many instances to name of them praising/ complementing each other, from small/silly things like when asked if Scott is more of a dare devil when it comes to trying new foods (than Tessa) he responds with “less intelligent” as to say T is smarter than him, to saying if he could be any other skater in the world in a hypothetical video game but fuck it that’s not important he would want to be Tessa.

I can’t even begin to imagine what him saying that to her means to her. She never felt she was the standard of athlete that Scott was- his love for it, the raw, animalistic drive for training- she was so injured for so long and felt she was a fraud… then Scott goes and calls her ‘super human’ and a ‘terrifying athlete’ to her face. Think about that. She was (somewhat) intimidated by him their whole career, intimidated but also endlessly inspired by, forced her to work harder and in their own messy/complicated/unorthodox way, in love with this guy who trained like an animal and she knows would do anything to succeed. At the same time as driven as he was, he was NEVER going to leave her behind, and he never felt he was or would have to leave her behind because in his mind.. SHE was the intimidating one. Everything she had to go through with injuries, then in their final competitive season, to be legitimately

In reliving those moments in their lives together he pulled out the key to the deepest insecurities she had about herself in their partnership and blew it up. Made it non existent. Now no, their insecurities will never disappear completely- I’m sure she will always live with guilt over how her injuries affected them and their career at the time. The point is he knows that. And he knows how to pull out those key triggers and do everything in his power to discard of them. (And she does the exact same for him).

It’s such a tricky thing to try and understand; how they trust and believe eachother with their whole living souls, yet still on some tiny level not be able to fully let go of what they perceive as weaknesses in respect to eachother.

What freaking kills me about them is how they tell each other to their faces how much they fucking love each other, and not by (only) saying “I love you” but by enlightening each other that in spite of their deepest insecurities, the other could not possibly love them anymore than they do. It’s quite frankly bumfuzzling that they have THAT MUCH love for each other. Thinking about Scott saying that to Tessa through a computer screen and imagining her feelings hearing that, quite honestly I don’t know how she restrained herself from attempting to reach through the screen to hug him. That’s the kind of love they have; that they see each other for who they are and love them for nothing else but that. A love comprised of appreciation and care and empathy. A love that is 1000% reciprocal.

And sorry to bring it up but all those Instances in the old days of people saying Scott is a walking love letter and the freaking heart eyes they gave each other.. this is what that was.. he didn’t say these things because he was an unfiltered talking bouquet of red roses and chocolates, but because he actually believed it and knew what saying those things to her meant to her- it gave her confidence and was a constant reminder that she could always ALWAYS trust him because he saw all of her (again this is the same her to him).

Also, the lack of freaking ego they have about themselves, and not letting each other have an ego, despite the fact they think each other are so wonderful and the best there has ever been they would be forgiven for having an ego. I’ve never seen an instance of a partnership where there is not an ounce of self righteousness in either partner except for TS. (This is not to be confused for immaturity or competitiveness-as Scott would say he was a bit ‘hyped up’ in his teens). As great as they both are respectively and they know their own strengths and weaknesses, the only thing that matters is declaring for the whole world and each other to know how wonderful they are. And ego is what I was getting at above with how those insecurities still exist deep down in them despite the other declaring them non-existent.. they don’t say these things to and about each other as an ego boost but because they legitimately believe it. Then and now and forever they believe it. Even in the tough parts of their career that never would’ve wavered because (I think) their unwavering admiration of each other is what held them together and will continue to hold them together forever: “life goes on but so does our partnership.. we will ALWAYS be partners”- Tessa..

I’m getting off topic bc I could honesty rant forever about this.

The basis of it (the above linked post) is the level of being known and seen they have of each other. Understanding each other on such a deep level to understand the root and nuances of their insecurities, and being able to.. not on an ego boosting level.. make the other understand that those insecurities don’t make them weak or make the other love them any less..

I’m going around in circles at this point so I’ll stop there.

"Onision: In Real Life DEBUNKED” Breakdown & Thoughts

Confirmed by Sarah over a 9 hour phone conversation with Onision

I’ve seen a lot of people speculate this phone call never happened because James’ claim that it was 9 hours long. I can’t lie, that threw me off when I first read it too. 

I believe most likely he is exaggerating the length of the conversation, although it’s not impossible for the them to speak for 9 hours.

The date he claims the call took place on lines up with the dates and times of Sarah’s last 2 tweets. She seemed very upset. I am not going to post them because her account is currently private.

the conversation started January 22, 2021 and ended around 1am her time, it continued laters that morning only to end with Sarah's sister taking the phone away and screaming that she was happy Sarah ruined his life while refusing to give the phone back to Sarah

So they took a break in-between calls. Possibly he is counting the 9 hours based on when their first phone call started and their last call ended.

Her sister taking the phone away and telling him off gives me the impression Sarah was extremely upset while talking to him. I don’t believe this was a confession / begging for forgiveness call like he is trying to make it out to be.

SARAH'S CONFESSIONS DURING COVERSATION 1-22-2021:

I doubt that these were confessions. Based on his past debates and interviews, I think it is more likely James walked her through carefully worded scenarios / events and forced her into answering with a simple yes or no. If she tried to add more or explain herself, he would cut her off and exclaim he was right. That’s how he’s treated others during debates, especially during recent interviews about Sarah’s (& others’) accusations against him, so that is how I imagine the call going down.

- The fraudulent #MeToo'ers were paid to participate in the documentary.

I understand the concept of it being unethical to pay accusers for interviews due to it possibly being an incentive for them to exaggerate, but everyone already participated in free public interviews. Everything they said in the documentary they have already stated multiple times for free. They did not say anything new. I personally don’t see them allegedly getting paid to be on the documentary as a blow to their credibility.

Also, James wanted to be paid to participate as well. So if he participated and was paid, should we no longer consider his claims valid? Especially since he would not just defend himself, but also make accusations against everyone since he claims he is actually their victims. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was already paid for at least one of his interviews about this whole thing by now.

- Sarah now has enough money to "Make a down payment on a house"

This is so incredibly vague. That could be almost any amount of money. Also, I don’t trust his quotations. He didn’t specify that was a direct quote from Sarah. He could have asked her how much she was paid and she would not say, so he asked if she could make a down payment on a house.

- Sarah again admitted to apologizing twice for raping Onision via sexual extortion.

So she agreed that she said “sorry for raping you guys” twice as she was angrily leaving the house? We already heard that story from him 100 times. He never went into detail about why she left angrily, but I always assumed it was because they got into a fight and that is when he first accused her of rape. I always assumed she said that sarcastically in response to his accusation.

- Sarah made it clear the documentary had her sign a contract of silence so she could not "legally" reveal how much the fraud #MeToo'ers were compensated to be involved.

I don’t think she would know how much other people were paid? I don’t believe she is in personal contact with Shiloh or Regina and I don’t think Discovery would disclose details of their contracts with other participants.

Since Sarah falls under “fraud #MeToo'ers” in James’ perspective, this makes me think she stopped him questioning how much she was paid. Now that I think about it that way,  he may have been taking the “down payment on a house” quote out of context. She may have been giving him an update on her life. He did says she “now has enough money” to do so, but didn’t specify that was because of the documentary.

- Sarah stated she truly hates both Shiloh & Regina (the other fake #MeToo'ers)

We already know this. Sarah and the other victims publicly cut ties with Shiloh and Regina because they chose to stick with Chris Hansen and participate in the documentary. The other victims wanted to stand together and not participate to try to prevent the documentary from happening.

- Sarah admitted Regina & Shiloh are frauds.

If she did, he’s not specifying what was allegedly fraudulent. The way he says “admitted” makes me think he talked about a specific incident and asked her if she agreed it was fraudulent. Like, Shiloh’s tattoo fund or something.

If she admitted she believed Shiloh and Regina were lying about their accusations, he definitely would have said that and not this vague shit.

- Sarah admits she herself intentionally mislead people to make Onision look bad.

Lmao as if she needed to strategically mislead people in order to make him look bad because he was so gosh darn innocent in this whole situation. I definitely believe he lead her into agreeing that she was misleading about one thing that made him look bad and he is using that to justify this broad statement.

- Sarah again admits she was kicked out of Onision's life for comitting a crime against Onision.

He’s just repeating himself. This is the same point as the alleged rape apology.

- Sarah admits she blatantly went out of her way to silence Onision/prevent interviews from happening so he could not deliver facts/evidence.

We already knew about this. Chris Hansen said he decided to drop negotiating an interview with James because the victims asked him not to do it.

This did not “silence” him. He went on plenty of other interviews.

- Sarah admits the laptop she had and mislead people about, in fact had nothing on it.

I am imagining two possibilities:

1. It’s possible James was misleading with his question and asked if there was something specific that he already knew was not on there, like photos of himself or photos of minors.

2. Sarah also sent a cell phone to Chris Hansen and Vincent. Perhaps the internet got mixed up and hyper focused on the laptop when it was really the cell phone that contained the damning nudes Kai sent to Sarah as a minor.

- Sarah admits she only turned her laptop in because the internet pressured her to. Confirming she defrauded countless people to replace the laptop via GoFundMe, not revealing to them the laptop she turned in had nothing on it.

I don’t believe the internet pressured her into originally sending the laptop to Chris Hansen / Vincent. I believe she did it to help the investigation. When she found out it was never given to the FBI months later, she seemed extremely upset.

After she got it back, that is when she noticeably hesitated on what to do with the laptop. People on the internet definitely pressured her into doing something with it before she was ready. Her being pressured into handing in the laptop to the FBI does not prove there was nothing on it. She most likely hesitated because either she did not want to deal with it / needed a break or she did not know who to trust with it.

Sarah was not the one who made the GoFundMe, it was Shiloh. The description said she needed a new laptop while the FBI had it for an investigation. That was true.

I’ve seen the argument that Sarah asking for funds for a laptop was fraudulent because she was fine without one while Vincent had it. Looking back, Vincent told her he was going to remove the hard drive, send the hard drive to the FBI, give the laptop a new one, and send her laptop back. I know during this time she was borrowing a friend’s laptop. This makes sense to me. She was borrowing because she thought it would be temporary. Once she officially handed it over herself to the FBI, she no longer had access to one and needed one for school.

(Washington state law prevents phone conversations being recorded without both parties consenting, Sarah was very concerned the conversation was being recorded, repeatedly asking if she was being recorded - as usual, Onision told the truth, he recorded nothing)

I’ve seen a lot of people talk about ways he could have gotten around this law or legal ways he could have proven this conversation happened. At the very least, he could have taken a screen shot of his call logs to show the date and how long he was on the phone for.

I think it’s worth noting he has recorded people over the phone without their consent in the past. Like Shiloh’s manager and Madison.

I’m not saying he’s outright lying about the call, but I don’t understand why he expected the internet to believe some vague bullet points about a phone call no one knew about about until he randomly made a page on his site for it a whole month after the call took place.

Tl;dr - He’s being way too vague. I believe he is taking a lot of the conversation out of context and manipulatively lead her into answering yes or no questions that would make it look like she’s admitting to the thing he’s accused her of and denounced her past accusations against him.

You gave wrong advice saying you're a linguist. That pisses me off. Yes it would look weird to have Shakespearean english followed by "said X in broken German". But you either write in the foreign language or translate it. And when you translate it you don't dumb it down or make mistakes. To make it realistic one has to add pauses, hesitation and maybe stopping halfway to ask for help with a word. Incorrect uses of languages happen in the narration NEVER in conversations.

And yeah I do code-mixing. But it's not, and I quote "INCREDIBLY common between multilinguals; I cannot stress this enough. [...] And you mean to tell me he doesn’t struggle with using ONLY English to express himself?" YES. I mean to tell you that. Or do you struggle to speak only Italian without accidentally code-mixing Japanese? They're very different languages and he used them in different contexts, he most likely knows how to separate them. P.S: I assumed you were american due trying to teach people things you didn't quite know yourself, with enough bravado and confidence to paint it as a black and white issue, and using a proper example to demonstrate your wrong theories. CP does it well because it doesn't do what you're saying should be done. It's not a compliment on your English sorry. Though it's great like I assume the rest of your languages are! Just not your linguistic/writing skills.

But I am a linguist? Once again, I’m majoring in linguistic and cultural mediation - I took classes on exactly what I’m talking about? And I can see your point, but  I believe the exact opposite (and that’s okay!): narration (especially from a third person point of view) has to be clear and accessible. Dialogue is the expression of how the character behaves and speaks, it’s one of the most “customizable” things in a character’s portrayal. And once again, I’m not saying the dialogues should be completely broken or even (GOD FORBID) mimic the language they’re supposed to be speaking. Just to alter the “difficulty level” according to the character’s portrayed skill. What bothered me in aftg is that dialogues sounded exactly the same and the “X said in X language” was constantly slapped afterwards as a passe-partout.

I’m sorry if I generalized regarding to code-mixing but yes, I do, sometimes, struggle to speak only Italian without code-mixing with other languages especially if I’ve spent a good amount of time immersed in those other said languages and there’s studies showcasing how that’s a possibility (especially focusing on the Speaker’s state, e.g. tiredness, fatigue are factors in this happening). I’m glad you rarely experience it, but that doesn’t mean it’s a rare occurrence? 

Finally, I once again apologize if my post, where I was simply attempting to give advice based on my knowledge and experiences, came off as over-imposing and conceited. That’s not what it was meant for. I wasn’t “presenting a theory” or anything of that sorts, it’s really not that deep. Except, you’re the one that engaged in this conversation with an amount of bravado and confidence to completely dismiss everything I said. Without even attempting to acknowledge that maybe, instead of being completely wrong on my assessment just because it doesn’t line up with yours, we might simply have two different takes on a very complicated topic (in which I never ever stated was simple or black or white. But it seems that that’s what you’re implying by completely dismissing what I said as wrong and a fraud). My example regarding CP was simply a input for people that might not know how to approach more nuanced hints of multilingualism in their writing: how to address LSPs in your narration without it seeming off. Translation Time! - “Wherefore Art Thou, Pokemon?”

DISCLAIMER: These translations come from a Facebook group that has posted clips of the original Japanese versions of certain episodes with French subtitles. I am not fluent in French, but between what I do know and research aides, I’m moderately confident in these translations; any spots I feel particularly troubled by will be noted. While the subtitles I’m using were written for the Japanese version of these episodes, that still means that this is a translation of the Japanese version by way of another language.

With all that said - let’s take a look at a few key scenes from “Wherefore Art Thou, Pokemon?”

SCENE: When Ash, Misty, and Tracey happen upon the two Nidoran playing Romeo and Juliet on the balcony.

English:

ASH: What are they doing? MISTY: Just listen to them, Ash. They’re both talking sweet talk! ASH: How do you know that? MISTY: Well, I can just tell. Because...I’m a romantic! I have a natural understanding of matters of the heart. ASH: Yeah? how come? MISTY: You’re not mature enough to understand. ASH: I am too! MISTY: Well, some day you’ll grow up. ASH: I already am grown up!

Original: 

SATOSHI: What’s he doing? KASUMI: You don’t know? Hes declaring his love! SATOSHI: How do you know that? KASUMI: I know that because...I am a woman, after all! You know, love really is something very important! SATOSHI: Love? Magikarp? (NOTE: this seems to be a misunderstanding on Ash’s part that doesn’t carry over to French or English; one of the Japanese words for love is “koi,” and Magikarp’s Japanese name is “Koiking.”) KASUMI: I should have known you wouldn’t understand, Satoshi. SATOSHI: And why is that? KASUMI: Because you’re just a kid! SATOSHI: Pikachu...Kasumi really considers me a kid!?

ANY DIFFERENCES? In the original, Ash seems more upset at the idea of Misty specifically thinking of him as a kid, whereas in the dub, he’s upset at the idea that he isn’t “grown up.”

SCENE: The Nidoran Trainers break the two up, and Misty’s not happy about it.

English:

MISTY: This is absolutely crazy! Those two Nidoran belong together, and I’m gonna do something about it! ASH: But it’s none of your business... MISTY: Oh yeah!? I just decided I’m gonna make it my business! Don’t you know that love is the most important thing in the whole world? ASH: Not more important than catching Pokemon. MISTY: YOU ARE SUCH A BIG BABY! ASH: I am not a big baby! ...Am I, Pikachu?

Original:

KASUMI: I can’t keep quiet any longer! I will do everything in my power to make these Nidoran happy! SATOSHI: What are you meddling for? KASUMI: Love is a very important concern for adults! And, as a woman, it’s natural that I’m concerned! SATOSHI: You’re saying you’re a woman? You’re only a girl! KASUMI: YOU’D BETTER SHUT UP! SATOSHI: Pikachu...Kasumi really considers me a kid?

ANY DIFFERENCES? Ash is (relatively) less dense about what’s going on with the Nidoran in the original, and doesn’t try and argue Pokemon are more important than love. He tries to call Misty out on acting as if she’s a grown-up, and when she flips out on him, he’s once again more upset that she specifically treats him like a kid.

SCENE: The letter writing.

English:

ASH: Whatcha doin’? MISTY: Writing identical letters to Emily and Ralph. (Laughs) It’s the perfect way to get those two together! ASH: D’you think it'll work? MISTY: Of course it'll work! Ralph and Emily are both gonna get a letter! A love letter from each other! ASH: But couldn’t you get arrested for mail fraud?  MISTY: Those two are gonna wind up thanking me for this! They’re not mature enough to admit it, but they really like each other! TRACEY: You know what, it's exactly the same thing with you and Ash! ASH AND MISTY: ...YOU MUST BE CRAZY!

Original:

ANY DIFFERENCES? Not in meaning, no. Misty quotes from the letters she’s writing instead of explaining them...and one could read a double meaning into her saying those things to Ash while marching him along and grabbing at his collar (XD) ...but really, the context is the same in both versions.

SCENE: The ending.

English:

TRACEY: I wonder how they evolved? From the paddle, or the kiss? MISTY: Tracey! You're a kook! ASH: You think people change when they get kissed? MISTY: Guess we'll have to find out ourselves!

Original:

KENJI: It [kissing] would be a good experience! KASUMI: Stop, Kenji! That's embarrassing! SATOSHI: Kiss? 'A good experience?' What do you mean? KASUMI: Kids don't need to know! (NOTE: translations for this specific line have been offered in the past here; in this case, the line in-context means the same thing either way.)

ANY DIFFERENCES? The original version pays off the earlier “kid” exchange, and doesn’t have the same (possible) double meaning as the dub.

I’d love to say that the next one up is “Misty Meets Her Match;” sadly, the Facebook group I’m getting these clips from doesn’t have that one, and a related group has clips without subtitles. But there’s still more to come!

Mustang

Anon: Hi! It’s the anon who was asking about the Cassius/Mustang plot point! Thank you for answering  my question so throughly and thoughtfully! I was kinda nervous to post anything and I thought your answer was really kind. And I hope you do like debates because I have an almost embarrassing amount of thoughts lol (it’s why I did the “submit a post” thing). 

I’ve read Golden Son a billion times — it’s one of my top 5 favorite books. It never occurred to me until after I wrote that first ask that Mustang might have been spying. I wish that was clearer in the book (if that is what Pierce intended). But if she was spying, it seems she missed a vital piece of intelligence; it didn’t seem like she knew the Bellona were going to murder her family at the gala. She clearly knew something was up, but there didn’t seem to be a plan in place to defend her family during the gala. Yes, the Howlers are on Luna, but it’s not clear to me if they were literally hovering outside the gala waiting for Mustang’s signal? I’d also argue that a lot of what she needed to know about the Bellona (you mentioned Julia’s hunger strike and Karnus killing Claudius) was public knowledge. I don’t think it’s clear whether she gained any key knowledge by dating Cassius. Also, I would argue that she does let her emotions overrule her logic, based on this line: “I felt a fraud. A wicked girl who’d contrived a reason to do something stupid.” I’ve always read that as her admitting, yeah, this whole thing wasn’t my best idea. (How do you read that line?) 

And I agree she seems to feel guilt over using Cassius based on that scene, but in her future interactions with him she’s pretty stone cold. I would think if she felt guilty she might want to at least tell him the truth about how she viewed their relationship? But she avoids talking to him until after he’s almost hanged (I wish we knew how that conversation went!). 

Here’s the thing. I think it’s fine if she made a bit of an error in judgement. In fact, I’d like her character more if this Cassius thing had been framed/viewed more as a mistake. She can still be brilliant and a genius and powerful and also mess up sometimes. 

One of the reasons I love the Red Rising series is all of the character arcs. Sevro struggles but eventually grows into his role as a leader. So does Darrow. Victra sees herself as a destructive monster but eventually realizes she can change and she deserves love. Cassius realizes he’s on the wrong side. 

I never felt that same type of arc with Mustang. In the book and in the fandom she seems to be viewed as beyond reproach. And that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with perfect characters. But I think it’s the reason I never really connected with Mustang. I love the conversation you quoted from Golden Son. I think it’s one of the few times Mustang lets her guard down a little. I wish there was more of that. And I wish we could see her struggle and overcome something on a personal level. Like, I’ve always thought it would have been cool of Darrow’s mother was the one person in the whole book who didn’t immediately like Mustang, but then eventually Mustang wins her over by saving Darrow on the ice or something. 

I’m not here to hate on Mustang. I think she’s smart. I think she’s loyal. I think if she wanted to keep Pax from Darrow that’s her business and it’s not a betrayal. I like her and Darrow together. I don’t think she necessarily owes Cassius an explanation about anything. I just wish we got more insight into her character. Her getting a POV in Dark Age is super exciting to me for this reason. I want to know if she ever has doubts. I want to see her mess up. I want to see her put her trust in someone only to have it bite in her the butt (but then get out of the jam). 

Do you think Mustang has any character flaws? What do you hope to see from her in Dark Age? (I’m so sorry this ended up being a billion words long!)

I’m happy to know your insights on Mustang more. I love it when people have different opinions on things, but debate about it friendly. The hate isn’t necessary at all and since I’ve been on the receiving end of hate in some fandoms for loving a character or the series as a whole, I’m sick of it and glad this fandom, with all its imperfection, has people like you. Though  have to mention that Virginia is my favorite female character so there is some bias to what I say even if I try not to be biased.

Now, I think that people interpret some things in certain ways. That is especially a thing since Darrow’s pov is subjective. We see the things his way so we make our own opinions about what is one and said. These are mine:

I know that I always reiterate how perfect Virginia au Augustus is, but to be honest, she is not. She just seems like she is. Look, there is a quote by Nietsche I adore that goes like this: “what is done for love is beyond good and evil”. What Virginia au Augustus did with the whole “dating Cassius” thing was beyond good and evil. She tried to keep her enemies closer to protect her father…now, Nero isn’t the most deserving guy to protect. She forgives a lot of things from her family and her self sacrificing isn’t a quality in this case. There is also the fact that she loses at Deimos and she gets desperate, anything to protect her child, which again, is justifyable and understable, but it walks that thin line. Add to that her political mistakes as Sovereign: she is a fair ruler, but thing is…she doesn’t rule anymore. The separation of power was done too fast, she gave up too much power and the Senate doesn’t have any kind of stop sign now (look at what they did with the immigration laws, the fact that hate speech is a normal occurance and they have no legislation to stop it or punish it etc.), Pax got kidnapped because she is seen as too weak and people-pleaser to crush the Syndicate, the fact that Sefi didn’t get punished for what happened on Luna when the Obsidians attacked innocents with her leading them is not ok and compromise or not. Her fight with Darrow before he left…he was wrong, but she wasn’t right either. You can’t force your beliefs on someone, you can’t force someone to not do something even if it’s for their own good. They have to choose. 

Again, no one is perfect and Virginia fits in that category too. Pierce Brown’s characters are very human and made of shades of grey. And he wrote Virginia like that too.

Getting back to GS, yes, she knew her father wasn’t seen in a bright light by Octavia, but it wasn’t common knowledge that she wanted him dead or that the gala was made to kill Nero. We find that out later. Virginia au Augustus might be strong, but the Sovereign was stronger, she ruled over the entire Milky Way with an iron fist. She needed to be sure before going against her, that’s why I believe she waited for Octavia to confirm the assassination plot. You can’t go against the Sovereign just on assumptions. Sevro confirms that he was brought back to the Core by Mustang. Kavax congratulated her on her plan of staying in Octavia’s graces. Yes, you might think that she didn’t gain much out of it, but she learnt a lot about Octavia, politics, Board of Quality Control, the law system. She knew how to bait her father into accepting her and Darrow’s plan (the one with taking Institute and Academy students) because she knew how to react to Octavia’s plans. Remember also that she kidnapped Lysander which isn’t at all a small feat to do.

I don’t think it’s fair to say that she didn’t evolve at all, she’s just flat character. She is a Reformer, but she defends her father who is a tyrant. She believes that Colors deserve basic human rights and interColor relationships legal and protected by law, she believes in another way than that of the Society, yet, she does what she does for her family. She does walk a line of rights and wrongs. Put in a position where she has to choose between what is right and her family it took awhile until she made up her mind. But she did. She chose what was right. She sentenced Adrius to the gallows. She fought for what was right. She, who was raised to choose her family above all else. It’s not a thing easy to brush off, because, she didn’t do it because she loved Darrow, she did it because she acknowledged that her family is wrong, that they are the enemy, that she can’t keep jumping to help them and step on her principles when people are dying and her loved ones are suffering.

When she says she felt like a fraud? My interpretation:She said it about herself in the context she was finding herself in that relationship. She told herself she could go on in a loveless relationship for the sake of the people she loves (she admits she didn’t love Cassius and I believe her), but when she saw Darrow again she felt like a fraud, a wicked girl. Why? Because she is using Cassius for her own interests. Because she isn’t like her father, she isn’t proud that she manipulates a good man and his family like that. Because she doesn’t love Cassius like he deserves to be loved, she still feels for Darrow. Because as much of a Pixie Cassius was for a time (a long time), he isn’t a bad person.

Because the whole thing is presented from Darrow’s point of view it seems like Mustang’s plan wasn’t the smartest tool in the box, but there is no way Darrow, Nero, Adrius and the rest would have gotten out of Luna alive. Ever! So it wasn’t that bad, not really a mistake. She isn’t really happy with what happened if that makes things right in your view. But it is what it is. I think Pierce wrote her outside of Darrow to show her moral lines, views and character unattached to his. Imagine that she and Darrow never broke up before he went to the academy. That means she might never have gone to Luna to be a political genius and make a career for herself (she led the Telemanuses, the Arcoses and allied with the Moon Lords and had their respect in MS and the Reformists looked up to her in GS so I think her work on Luna helped her achieve those), she might have never learn things about herself or experience a relationship or become a Reformist. She would have been another love interest, a character created just for the protagonist. Now that’s a stretch, but that’s the idea - she needed to be on her own. She needed to be written away from Darrow in a way or another. The way it was done is filled with drama, but if you look at the details of it, it isn’t that bad.

As for the whole ‘not talking to Cassius’? Honestly, I didn’t give a fuck about that. I was on Sevro’s side, Cassius was a Pixie in my eyes. He started to get likable towards the end of Morning Star. And I agree with the whole Virginia doesn’t owe Cassius shite, because she doesn’t. Cassius killed Fitchner, helped the Sovereign and the Jackal kill her father. She didn’t even love him…thank u, next! Now my pettiness aside, because Cassie is part of the top 10, thank u Iron Gold! She talked to him when she felt like it. There is nothing wrong with that. I think it was after Darrow showed Cassius that holo of his family getting killed at Octavia’s orders. (and yes, after he was hanged) I think it was to partially tell him the plan and partially to tell him the truth about their relationship, why she shot an arrow through his neck with no hesitation, because she owed him that much.

We’ll get probably more info in her pov, but we can give her a break on this subject because 1. she never got the chance to talk to him again in GS  with war and Triumphs and being pregnant and 2. they only re-met at the Peace Treaty, they talked only business and the whole thing got blown up by the Howlers before something could come of it.

Virginia au Augustus is an acquired taste really, so it just depends on how you read in between the lines Darrow’s pov. For me, she is a well written character. The amount of self-control, intelligence, kindness, teasing and confidence and vulnerability (it’s rare, but it’s more special for it, like that moment after Darrow and she talked to Adrius, when she cried and let herself be fragile in Darrow’s arms) she displays are very beautiful for me, especially after having a father like Nero (who had more mood swings than me on my period) and a brother like Adrius…and losing her mother and her best friend - Pax.

I am not trying to convince anyone to like her as much as I do. I’m just explaining how I see her…so these are my views.

Who should I vote for in the WA state election?

Full disclosure, this is directly inspired by this article, by someone from my high school as part of a youth newspaper he was working on. Considering said newspaper hasn’t updated since, oh, 2017, I think it’s fine to step on a few toes.

According to the ABC there are 19 parties vying for votes in the 2021 Western Australia State Election, which is coming up on Saturday. Some of them are good, some of them are very very not. Let’s go through each!

Animal Justice Party

The Animal Justice Party is a single-platform party masquerading as a multi-platform party, and while they have bland but reasonable positions on common issues everything, and I mean everything, on their page circles back to animals. Mental Health? Animal therapy and volunteering are good for that! Foreign Policy? We only care about trophies and wildlife trade! Domestic Violence? Abusers kick puppies, not just spouses! You get the idea. They mean well, but I don’t think they’re even close to a top pick, especially considering some of their odder platforms (banning processed meat sales to minors like they’re cigarettes, sure ok).

Vote for them if you’re the epitome of the obnoxious vegan.

 Australian Christians

I mean, obviously I’m not religious, but I’m pretty sure these folks don’t speak for all Christians. They’re first on the list of whackjobs, anti-abortion and same-sex marriage, pro “sexual morality” (read: puritanism) and have out-of-context bible quotes on their statement of intents. Oh, sorry, statement of beliefs. Clicking on this webpage made my skin crawl- protip, if a person or party claims to support “family values” or “Christian ideals” 99 times out of 100 they’re just using it to justify bigotry.

Vote for them if you’d feel right at home in Cromwellian England.

 Daylight Savings Party

This one’s website was broken for me, so I couldn’t really get a hold of anything beyond the name and what was on their facebook page, which is pretty much just what their mission statement is- Western Australia but we have daylight savings time. Despite being ridiculously sunny all the time. But….but why though….

Vote for them if you enjoy changing your clocks twice a year, like a weirdo.

 The Great Australian Party

There are two really obvious jokes here screaming at me to be made. The GAP wants to make Australia great again, and despite the name it doesn’t involve jeans. These guys think taxes are bad but it would be good if they were instead handled by corporations, which is the most laughably stupid idea that itd be enough to bottom-vote them just on that- fortunately, their stance on firearms (we’ll get to it later) and immigration (withdrawing from UN treaties, seriously?) make it pretty clear they’re just a bunch of cunts. Their policy pages complain about political correctness and want to make fucking with a flag a crime like it is in the US, so the comparisons to a certain US party keep going.

Vote for them if you’re the proud owner of a red hat that your children will burn out of shame.

 Health Australia Party

The fact that these people have an entire page dedicated to going “no, we aren’t anti-vax, we just have a lot of concerns” answers any questions you could possibly have. They also advocate for “natural medicine” to be placed on equal footing with, you know, medicine, which is obviously not a great idea.

Also, that they spell it “anti-vacc” and that their policy list is in fucking Calibri bugs me to no end.

Vote for them if you’re on a lemon detox.

 Legalise Cannabis Western Australia

Take a guess. Take a wild fucking guess what single issue these guys are about. I don’t even have anything against this idea, their policies aren’t awful or anything, but it’s a heck of a hill to spend so much of your time on.

Vote for them if you’re high off your tits, I guess.

 Liberal Democrats

What is this, libertarians? I’ll be frank, most of their policies are rooted in economics stuff I don’t really understand, but they’re against COVID lockdowns. You know, despite how effective they’re shown to be around here since we don’t fuck them up (mostly).

These guys seem to be one of the bigger of the small parties but their website is super unhelpful so ???

Vote for them if… I dunno?

 Liberal Party

The first of the two major parties. They lost power in the last state election, and I couldn’t be more thankful- they’d been doing nothing but cock up for years at that point, and the premier was a fucking joke. Considering that their leader has apparently already conceded defeat, I suspect they aren’t looking to repeat the process.

The Liberals seem to be the default for a lot of people, thanks to their incalculable media bias and being one of the big two. I suppose if you’re reading this, you aren’t voting for them anyway.

Vote for them if your mum voted for them and you’re proud of that for some reason.

 Liberals for Climate

If you voted in the last election, you might remember a party called the Flux network, which was a party where their policy was just online voting for everything. This is, uh them again? But they seem more concerned about climate than last time.

 No Mandatory Vaccination Party

…no. just no.

Antivaccination is an opinion that makes my skin crawl. The fucker that effectively started the movement, Andrew Wakefield, effectively did so for the money, and as such is indirectly responsible for thousands of deaths. The people who believe this shit know nothing of chemistry or medicine but hear a few buzzwords and do a google or two and think they’re the greatest geniuses of our time. They think they’re soooo fucking smart. Confident incorrectness can be funny at times, but not when such a huge issue is at stake.

Vote for them if you want me to call you out on twitter dot com.

 Pauline Hanson’s One Nation

Oh christ she’s still trying this shit? For reference, in the last election these xenophobic cunts were rightfully punted out of our state, despite massive campaigning, proving that we aren’t the bogan capital of the country quite as much. Their policy pages make me want to vomit, but who the fuck voting for One Nation reads the fucking policy page?

Pauline Hanson was a fish and chip shop owner who made a political party to get her xenophobic bullshit out on the national stage, and was arrested for election fraud, yet still is allowed to run a party for some reason. She’s switched the target of her ire from China to the Middle East to reflect modern bigotry better, but it’s the same old shit. The only good thing ever to come about her was the Pauline Pantsdown song, and she obviously wasn’t involved in that.

Vote for them if you’re interested in joining the Proud Boys.

 Shooters Fishers and Farmers

Oh and the hits just keep coming. Funnily enough I don’t have an issue with their fishery policy, but that’s not the main one, obviously. Australia has harsh gun control laws on account of a mass shooting back in 1997, and we’ve stayed that way for 23 years with, shockingly, no further mass shootings (that I’m aware of). You can disguise your policy by saying its for the sport all you want, but I’ve got no interest in bringing guns back to WA.

Vote for them if you think the NRA having massive political sway in the USA is a good thing.

 Socialist Alliance

Full disclosure, I consider myself a socialist, so I’m probably a little biased here. But yeah, these look like good policies. They want to remove the USA military presence in Australia which I am personally very for, they support royal commission into the big banks which should have been done a decade ago, and they want to lower the voting age to 16 which considering that the youth are generally more politically minded these days seems fair enough to me. I’m for it.

Vote for them if you would have voted for the Greens, and don’t know which to put higher.

 Sustainable Australia

Despite the name, the policy of this party is more concerned about population than climate, an issue I’m not sure is especially pronounced in this neck of the woods. I’d put them fairly middle of the road, seeing as they have some policies I’m for (no new coal mines or fracking) and some I’m very against (increased police funding, lowered immigration).

Vote for them if you too don’t know the common usage of the word Sustainable in modern times.

 The Greens

Why everything is alphabetical until this and the next one are beyond me. Regardless, I suspect you already know if you’re voting Greens, but bluntly: They’re basically the only ones with a real, functional plan about Climate Change. And considering that’s the biggest problem facing humanity at large right now (yes, including COVID), that’s a pretty solid claim.

Vote for them if THERE IS NO PLANET BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

 The Nationals

The nationals end up in coalition with the Liberals basically all the fucking time so if you’d vote for the Libs you’ll vote for the Nats. They’re basically the liberals, but they pay lip service to caring about poor rural areas while continuing to suck big buisness’s cock like a kid with an icy-pole.

Vote for them if you’re a genuine country bumpkin.

 WA Labor

I’ll be frank, I don’t think there’s a single way Labor doesn’t win this election. Mark McGowan has developed a minor cult of personality, and they’ve handled the old COVID situation remarkably well. I don’t agree with everything they’ve done in the past 4 years, but their track record is certainly better than the Liberals. Still, they’re not going to be the top of my preference sheet.

Vote for them if you don’t know what small parties to preference first.

 WAxit party

I’ve admittedly entertained the idea of a Western Australian Secession, and provided it is handled well am not entirely against it. It does make me feel vaguely Texan, though, and that’s not a position I enjoy being in. This party wants to massively invest in defense so WA can protect itself from an invasion- one that will never, ever come, and I really don’t expect to eat those words. We don’t matter enough to target.

Vote for them if you think Brexit 2 sounds like a good idea.

 Western Australia Party

Look at this point I’m fucking sick of all these parties. They have Family Values on their policy list so I’m just taking that as a red enough flag not to vote for them.

Vote for them if you actually read their shit and were a fan of it.

 And that’s…everyone. Wait no not everyone hang on.

Independents

I must confess, I basically always forget to read about the independents prior to an election. This is going to be different in every district, so do your research- or just do what I do and stick them all smack bang in the middle between the parties I like and the parties I don’t like.

 Ok now that’s everyone. This took a long time and a lot out of me, so I hope you appreciate this shit. Hopefully you are now prepared for what may come on Saturday the 13th, and won’t be too disappointed when your minor party of choice doesn’t win the seat because everyone in your area votes Liberal for some fucking reason.

Some highlights of the last EDA I’ve read (Eater of Wasps).

I took these screens while reading, along with my reactions. As usual, this is full of spoilers.

Well, that was unexpectedly great.

The problems keep piling up in this story and the action never really stops. It’s pretty straightforward and I wish some characters were given a bit more to do, but the regulars are still well written. Eight hasn’t been this alien since The Burning (which makes sense since it’s the same kind of story, with a basic plot but written like a thriller), Fitz is his usual loyal self, even when he’s scared shitless by the events, and Anji has some of the most interesting moments.

It’s also a real page-turner, with some gloriously horrible body horror left and right and more than a few laughs among all the stress. Unlike the previous book, this one doesn’t really try to make a point, it has a very traditional structure (if you forget the ton of gore thrown at us), and it’s just a gripping adventure with no other goal in mind. Definitely refreshing. 8/10

People die accidentally all the time but most of the time he refuses to be the person who decides who lives and who dies. Of course it’s highly debatable, but that’s what makes it interesting in the first place.

B O N E S   PaidProgramming Review

Hi everyone, Teamthany Seshtano here, Teen Ink’s busiest music nerd and it’s time for a classic review of the 2013 Bones mixtape, PaidProgramming. Elmo O’ Connor other wise known as Bones, or Th@ Kid if you’re looking at his earlier work,  is a Michigan/ California rapper, part of the independent label known as TeamSesh and a part of the underground rap group SeshHolloWaterBoyz. This is the 29th tape under his belt and this isn’t really not an ordinary Bones tape because this is where, at least for me, where Bones started to really define a new image for himself. Even though it’s still in the style of his three previous tapes, those tapes being CRACKER, SCUMBAG, and CREEP, the overall concept of the album is what really draws me in and how interesting it is. The concept being of I guess just sitting in your home, late at night and just watching the Paid Programming portion of a certain channel.

The Album kicks off with the title track, which is a very somber and mysterious instrumental, with a clap sample once in awhile. It’s almost like you’re visualizing a grainy city background covered in fog, at least that’s I visualized, still pretty decent instrumental nonetheless. Now the next track titled JonathanTaylorThomas, is the first song that Bones actually raps and it seems to be about those whom Bones dislikes trying to be on his level, comparing them a to a young Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Saying how they’ll never actually earn respect or money doing what they’re doing and eventually end up dead in game by the hands of Bones, adding onto the song however, is Bones going even harder on this person saying how nobody is going to miss him and how they memory of the person will slowly fade into obscurity or even to the point where the man’s parents lied to his face about making it in life.

Just a bit of a disclaimer, there are quite a few references to drugs and money in Bones’ music, though he does make sure there is a decent variety of songs with differing subjects. The third song here titled WakingUpCrying, which is about I guess having some sort of smoking session with a girl he met though it does devolve into a bit of bragging when he talks about riding off in a yacht with a swimming pool on the top or how he’s a slim young pimp with twenty beepers on his hip. That is until Jonny Telafone comes in with some very tear stained and somber vocals, crying for the girl that Bones is with, wondering what else to do as he soaks his pillows with his tears. The next song up which I personally enjoy, titled RotatingBed sort of brings it back to concept of the album a bit with the beat and overall tone. The song is about Bones missing a girl and how his life really isn’t complete without her in his life, stating how he doesn’t how to act or to be sane when she isn’t around.

Sorry if the format seems a little repetitive, I’m just trying to do a short review of each song so bear with me a little bit. So, the next song titled Dial-Up seems to have a more mean mugging vibe to it while also taking place in two separate years it seems. Bones is in 2003 talking with someone’s girl on Nextel phone in a black Mercedes Benz jeep. While the guest feature on the song by Na$ty Matt is about him being in 2005, having casual sex with a few girls like they’ve had their tubes tied and riding in a Mercedes Benz with a machete on his side referring to himself as a dirtbag which is sort of fitting by the content of his lyrics. The next song in the track listing titled AmericanBeauty actually samples the movie that it’s named after, it’s the final quote of the movie actually before the character played by Kevin Spacey, is embracing his own death, which Bones likes to do in his music. After that however, Bones starts to go into a brag rap direction, talking about he has the dope and the flow, though the chorus oddly enough is the same chorus from Aaron Carter’s song, How I beat shaq. He then goes on to describe his day as he wakes up, wondering how much time he could kill as he rolls his first ‘bone’. Then the song devolves into Bones talking about how other’s aren’t as good as him or his label.

Now another thing to sort of bear with in this review is that Bones, like many other rappers, enjoys talking about how successful he is which isn’t a bad thing at all as long as you keep the song interesting. Next song in the tracklisting is called 281-330-8004, which is Mike Jones’ old personal number from 2005. In the song he talks about how he’s got friends that don’t talk to him because he I guess he would rather silently communicate than draw attention to themselves. Describing his popularity as Macaulay Culkin’s back in 1992 which makes sense in the popularity sense though doesn’t really make much sense in the way he got that popularity. The next cut on the album is 7DayOutlook, which samples an old weather channel ad fitting back in with the theme and concept of the album.  Fellow Sesh member Dylan Ross is on this track for hook, telling those frauds in his life to stay out of it, telling them that because of them he no longer has any love to give. Bones then gets into his verse, saying how he doesn’t wear brand name clothes and wears his label’s merch(which you can get here >>http://teamsesh.bigcartel.com/<<), and also listens to his own music because he feels that rappers today aren’t up to his level. A more somber track up next titled Cut and seems to be about Bones deeply missing this girl to the point where he can’t think straight, as his mind fills with feelings of regret and sadness. Looking back on his memories with her, hoping that this girl feels the same when she thinks about him. He even retraces his steps at one point, however those he meets on the way don’t satisfy him, knowing they can’t relate to his situation. Eventually he wishes for death, know that he’ll never see her again.

The next song in the track listing titled FlashFloodWatch is about those who hate on Bones but still listen to his music. However Bones knows of this and begins to tear into these ‘secret fans’, seeing their hate as them throwing him in the water and just watching him sink to the bottom. Bones then talks about how these ‘secret fans’ don’t really know what he’s like as they’ve never been or seen a live show, however it comes back to sort of that brag rap style at the end of the song which is to be sort of expected. The next song, which is a vocal performance rather than a rap song is called TeenageBoy now, if you don’t know already, Bones is a pretty talented singer at times at least for me. He’s even got a little side project with Sesh Producer Greaf called surrenderdorothy where it’s just vocals, though I can see why people wouldn’t like this song or any other sad Bones song because, most now come to get hyped up and it’s unique to that variety again in Bones’ music but I digress. The track begins with a sample from the Adam Sandler movie the wedding singer, before singing about him and a girl, which is pretty formulaic at this point but think about the song and the context it’s in. It’s like some weird kid at school who entered the talent show and sings for the girl he can’t talk because he feels that if he makes any form of contact with this girl she’ll reject him.

Next song up is titled Snow and it seems to be about Bones revisiting locations from his childhood/teenager days and seeing how much they’ve changed since he left. Though he is unsure of whether or not the roads have changed however. Up next is the song SevereWeatherWarning which is about Bones describing how these labels want him but they can’t have him, as Bones is more akin to staying an underground artist. Eventually talking about his blade and his girl near and at the end of the song. However, the song after that titled Rust is probably the most depressing song on the album in which Bones goes a more tear stained and hateful approach to missing someone. Talking about losing all the love he could give because he already wasted it on someone who really didn’t need it, saying that the person may miss him but not actually. Even though it’s sort of implied that the person Bones is talking about feels this way, as some whimpering is heard at the end. Then we hear the interlude titled 30DayFreeTrial, which is pretty catchy and pleasing after Rust. The next song is titled StoneColdStunner, features Wiccaphase on vocals, saying how girls only like him because he looks like Bones or how he feels like a leech comparing himself to basically a clone of him and nothing else. Bones then talks about how he can’t stop whatever he is doing, that probably being smoking dope and doing whatever he wants, calling out for somebody to save him.

The song up next HeavyFog is a pretty standard Bones song, talking about rolling up ‘bones’, brandishing his knife, and how his writing is flawless. The song after however Called TeenGirlDiesAtRave, I feel yet again fits back in with the concept a bit, as if say an after school special comes on TV and it’s about drug abuse. The intro on the song takes place at a night club I guess and Bones is with his friend Claire, however he finds her on the floor not breathing and comes to the conclusion that she overdosed on pills and died. Then the song kicks off with a sample from a rave song titled,”Wipe away my tears”, after a while Bones starts to get into his verse, describing the last moments of Claire’s life as she slowly dies however he diverts from this narrative near the end. However, it jumps back from the theme and concept in the song ScatteredShowers, where Bones talks about how he was always the best without ever even noticing it before and then proceeds to talk about dope and how these other rappers are too scared to follow their dreams.

GrandfathersRing is the next song, immediately talking about how he’s young and handsome like the Hansons or how doesn’t care about his image as long as he gets his ash. However at the outro, it yet again for another time comes back to the concept and theme of the tape, where it’s basically a radio traffic and weather report which will tie into the end of the album. The next song titled 2006 is about how these scared, weak rappers need to step up their overall capital. At the end talking about how you’ll never catch him in Jordans dissing snapbacks aswell. The next two songs are pretty alright in my opinion the first one being Skin, which is another song about Bones and his lust for blunts and dope. The other being Blink187 which does sample actually sample a Blink182 song known as ”All The Small things.”. Bones then begins to talk about his extravagant bathroom as he smokes a blunt, threatening those mess with his brother saying they’ll be on First 48. The song after that is CracksInTheRoad, which is about Bones partying at some sort of exotic place with strange artifacts, eventually leaving the party at the end.

The last three songs on here, two out of three are pretty standard Bones tracks aside from the very last one. 5EasyPayments pretty standard, Bones talking about smoking dope or how he dropped out and made his own music. Now the second to last song is titled DelicateHands, which is about him trying not to lose feelings for a girl, at the same time trying to express his true feelings to her. The final song on the album is more of a Ten Minute Skit than a song, it’s called Sesh Radio: Volume 1. Now before I get into this one, there are two other Sesh Radio skits on two other tapes, those being Rotten and the sequel to this tape, PaidProgramming2. So it opens with a song by an alter ego by Bones named Ricky A Go Go, before actually getting into the news portion lead by ‘Sesh anchor Kip Chiperly’. This right here this skit is what really brings out the concept and theme which I personally enjoy very much. Kip finishes the weather report in which it then fades into a poem it seems, which is sampled from an old Chanel No.5 ad.The passage finally ends, and an unknown anchor is heard talking about the local ‘Sesh Fest’ cutting to the live feed down at the scene. However, it is implied that there actually is no Sesh fest because of the phoned in yelling at the ‘event’.The feed eventually cuts out, before another Ricky song plays, talking about walking down a lonely road at night. However, the unknown anchor returns and plays the next on the ‘playlist’ titled,TimeshareCondominium, this song later lands on another Bones tape titled DeadBoy. Though I won’t be talking about this song because I’m more focused on the skit than the song in the skit(however if people want, I could review DeadBoy). The song eventually ends and another Sesh Anchor, named Bobby Hallofax, begins to take calls from listeners. The only person who calls, named Pamela, doesn’t seem to speak english however Bobby takes this as show of support. Though he stops taking calls and plays an unknown song TeamSesh song before the track finally ends.

So overall I loved the concept and the aesthetic of the album though I can see why people wouldn’t like this album. Bones seems to talk about the same thing sometimes, though he does try to keep it interesting. Mixing different styles of rapping, singing, and in some of his tapes he even full on screams. Personally though, if you want to at least try and get your friend or friends into Bones I would try this album because it’s not too strong and it’s not too light, giving you the variety of styles Bones can have on a tape. That’s I really have to say on this one, Bones, PaidProgramming, TeamSesh,  F O R E V E R.

Says he wants to make a quick video on why no one should ever trust anyone. [The video is over 40 minutes long 😭]

He wanted to play hero and white knight by giving people he wanted to help things to make their lives better. He’s given thousands of dollars worth of stuff: flat screen TVs, thousand dollar airfares. Males, females, people in their 20′s, 30′s 40′s, etc. People who have met him in person say he’s a generous guy.

Says he gave his mother a quarter of a million dollar house and it destroyed their relationship. He says it showed him the house is more important to her long term. He told her she got the house for free and she said it cost her her relationship with him. He asks why she was letting a house that was given to her for free cost their relationship. He says he offered to buy the house back and she didn’t want to sell it even though it was free. He says he needs a place to film. He says Onision videos aren’t coming back because of his mom.

He doesn’t value his life and he doesn’t have a lot of will to live, that’s why he doesn’t have a filter and tells you how he really is. People play a game to get more respect and money, but he just doesn’t want to exist.

He says there’s at least 10 people he’s given $10,000 of stuff to.

He lived in a laundry room and was on food stamps because his mom was a single mom. He says when people says “it’s only money”, he thinks your a privileged pampered jerk. He says it means a lot to him when someone donates $5 on twitch. He says twitch takes half so he only gets $2.50. [This is really funny when you compare it to the shit he used to say to his fans when he was making over a million a year and the shit he said to them when they wouldn’t pay for the Onision channel when he made it pay to view only.]

He says he gave Cyr food and camera equipment. (Cyr and his gf story.)

Says it’s hard to trust Youtubers because the platform rewards drama. He asks if someone is going to take a DM out of context or lie about wanting to be in a sketch or not. Are you going to pretend to be against something because your afraid of being canceled? He doesn’t want to exist in a world like that.

You invest a lot of time and love in something and it turns around and bites your hand off. People do that because you hurt their feelings.

If you’re not an adult and you’re not blood related to him, he’s a jerk to you so everyone knows he wants nothing to do with you. Besides that he’s nice to pretty much everyone except his mom and an independent voter cousin he has. She stormed off with a red face when he laughed in her face at how stupid she is.

Says his director friend who is very professional and worked with a lot of youtubers said to him, “if only people know you for who you are.” He says he presents himself differently online, using a comedic or acting flair. He did this because he wanted to get the message he’s trying to convey and make an impact. He wants people to feel things when they watch him. The idea of Onision is so big and powerful, it’s impossible to get past the illusion.

He doesn’t feel poly right now. He doesn’t want a relationship outside his husband. It’s too socially complicated to keep two people happy and not jealous. (Chris Rock women try to steal your man quote.) People try to rip apart his 8 year long, successful marriage. He implies Kai stays with him and loves him even when they are at odds, that’s a genuine human being and relationship. Other people pretend to like him. (Moderator said she hated him for a year.)

Says he made a video about cuddlegate and another break up they had with Billie. Says she always visited them, flew out for a week or two weeks. He says it was expensive. He says he asked her if those videos were accurate. She said yes. He says those videos weighed in her favor.

When you sever ties with someone because the person was dangerous to your family, the online community doesn’t care. Certain crimes are acceptable to people online like drug abuse, dealing, lie, fraud.

Describes himself as a goody-two-shoes because he’s a former air force cop. Says people don’t like him because he represents authority, the people who dumped you, your dad, the less hip crowd.

Says Billie admitted she lied on video.

He tries to live in the real world, but he deals with people don’t care about justice or objectivity. They only care about feelings. When all you care about is feelings, then anyone that doesn’t want to be your friend is a monster and a criminal.

When someone blocks him on twitter, he thinks they have the wrong idea about him. He doesn’t hate them and think they’re a terrible person. He’s sure if a person has a coherent, civilized conversation with him, they wouldn’t conclude a lot that’s negative.

Says there’s a lot of cancel culture and #metoo hysteria where people focus on people that hurt their feelings. Says there are a lot of valid #metoo too.

He says talking about women’s rights is compensating and being manipulative. He says someone told him he should do that and he saw it on Amazon��s The Boys. There’s no real consequence. Just social consequence like Johnny Depp’s ex.

People lie and are malicious because he rejected him.

People only care about news about accusations about famous people when people are murdered ever day. You say you’re caring and you just want justice, he can’t help but question your priorities.

Says he was recommended an old update video about himself from Mike who worked with Chris Hansen. He didn’t watch it, he pressed uninterested. Says Mike went to actual court for allegedly groping people.

If Batman was truly against bad people, he would lock up the whole city because bad people are everywhere. They vote, lie, and do things to others constantly based on personal gift.
