Prompt 84
Amity Park absolutely adores her little ghostling, her little Gatekeeper who was of her own ectoplasm, reborn from her own blood in the center of her new heart. She absolutely adores her baby, practically a newborn, being only a year dead!
So of course she had to gush and boast about her little phantom to the other city spirits! They all got together to gossip sometimes after all. And both Smallville and Fawcett started to gush about their own little ones back!
Gosh they should set up a playdate at some point, her little phantom could use some friends in the mortal realm. Well some more friends, three is obviously not enough. Oh, Gotham and Bludhaven have come over as well! It’s a playdate then!
Now if only each of their world’s timelines were synced up, but at least everyone is around the same age!

Re: previous choices discussion, i have my frustrations with bioware's decision but ultimately it's not a huge deal for me, and I don't really want to rile myself up even more before i see how it's handled in the game itself...
But I've read some of the posts here defending/justifying the lack of choices and trying to ease people's minds by listing examples and yeah, yeah, you're not wrong when you say all these choices we've made are ultimately insignificant for the story we're about to play... Personally, my main issue with it is that it's just not fun.
Not having my inquisitor, varric, or morrigan talk about certain plot points/characters from previous games isn't the end of the world if it's irrelevant to the plot at hand, but them refusing to acknowledge anything is just So. Much. Less. Fun. "What we did before doesn't really matter!" Yeah, bioware made it not matter on purpose, and it sucks. Because it's unfun. Spending dozens of hours replaying the games and building your worldstates, agonising over various choices only to be told they don't matter and that we won't even get the bare minimum of single lines of dialogue or text notes to see how our choices helped shape the world around our characters is not fun. You feel??

so like do you think they made the plastic wheelchair ALONGSIDE the plastic prison as a Just In Case situation, only after they realized charles was going to be a frequent visitor, or both as in because they knew charles was going to be the only person visiting him during planning they decided to make him a chair ahead of time
#xmen#x2: x men united#charles xavier#erik lehnsherr#cherik#not really but yes it is#snap chats#secret fourth option is they just had a plastic wheelchair at the mansion just in case this incredibly specific scenario happened jvlkaervj#part of me hopes the staff just Knew cause imagine being THAT divorced publicly but another part hopes erik asked for one. not politely ofc#def joked bout how charles couldnt think to leave him alone for five minutes lest he did something Uncouth somehow ik he did#that charles was going to show up sooner or later so they might as well make it easy for themselves and prep etc etc#girl ima throw up what if charles didnt visit tho .... thats not even a possibility cause ofc he did but still !!!!#personally id throw up and cry like wdym my best friend ex husband didnt show up. when i even asked for a chair for him ..#EVEN ASKED FOR A SILLY LIL PLASTIC CHESS SET alternatively what if charles brought that... im making myself sick#As Indicated By My Username i think of the plastic jail every day its so funny to me and so quaint#i should rewatch X2 just for plastic jail#like it makes sense and i do think its a cute detail but still. gotta put grandpa in the polly pocket prison set now. tragic !!#i remember watching the movie for the first time in recent years and audibly going 'aw' at the plastic wheelchair im so sorry JVLKEJKA#LIKE AWW CMON THATS WEIRDLY CUTE gotta make sure peepaw can visit his ex husband </3 so they can play chess </3#i love that chess is Their Thing ... any time a ship's got mfers who fucks heavy with chess i know im hooked#its not intentional things happen this way but i will still laugh#kk nightly cherik posting is done byebye

IF it can be helped at all, stay home when you are sick to prevent your illness from spreading to others, even if it's not a "serious" illness and is just a common cold, a common cold can still be really detrimental anyone with a weakened or compromised immune system from conditions including, but not limited to, leukemia, HIV, and hepatitis. And you can never know if one of your co-workers or a customer or a random stranger at the store has or lives with someone who has one of these conditions.
Not everyone can help it, some people risk losing their job if they call in sick, and not everyone has someone they can call on to run to the store for essentials while they're sick.
In these cases at least consider wearing a mask while you're in public so as to prevent spreading your sickness to co-workers / customers / random strangers you encounter while out in public. There are several cultures where even pre-COVID times it was considered rude to go out in public without a mask even if you had a simple cold because of it being inconsiderate to spread your sickness to others.
Now, if it can be helped at all, if you have a job where you can call in sick without losing your income, or if you have a job where you can work form home, or if you have anyone at all you can call on to run to the store for you to grab essentials, use that!
"Oh but I don't want to inconvenience my co-workers by having them down a person today, what if they really need my help?" You know what's going to inconvenience them more is when you make everyone at work sick, and some of them might either have a compromised immune system or live with someone who does.
"Oh but I don't want to inconvenience my friend by asking them to grab some essentials from the store for me while I'm sick!" You know what's going to be more inconvenient is when you spread your sickness to that dad you stood in line behind at the store who has a child at home withe leukemia, or a spouse with HIV.
And again, of course not everyone has an option. Some people risk losing their income if they call into work sick, or they don't have anyone who they can call on to get essentials from the store for them. But again, at least consider masking up to mitigate the risk of spreading your illness to vulnerable people who could be seriously harmed by even a common cold or mild flu.

All I can say at this point is that I’ve never been more disappointed and ashamed to be an American. I’m not particularly patriotic, never have been, but I had more faith in us than this. At this point, we failed ourselves, and I’ll let the other countries laugh because it’s all we deserve. The government put the gun in our hands and instead of unloading it, we put it to our heads and shot.
My mother told me that the good people in this country would do what they could in the wake of this disaster. I want to ascribe to that, but I don’t think I believe in good people anymore. Not in America

Thinking abt Leander and if everyone knows he’s from Hightown? Like does everyone know he was potentially born from wealth? How does that translate with the public’s opinion? Does he hide that fact for more reliablility? How would he blend in?
Like imagine- a person from lowtown, references a piece of slang that’s only local, before his arrival 12 odd years ago, and he doesn’t get it/isn’t familiar with it? I know he’d probably play it off phenomenally, but the brief moment of him not knowing….what does he think or do? Or if the people’s accent/vernacular is slightly different, does he code-switch? Does he fake/adopt a dialect that isn’t his own; hide pronunciations or colloquialisms from his Hightown upbringing? Or does he own it and simply say he’s seen the error of his ways and that they are unjust?

I loved this episode so much 🥹 might write up another post about the emotional core of it and why I think it's the best ep. 11 I've ever seen, considering how much people love to bemoan the 'episode 11 curse' (which I think is just setting yourself up for disappointment). But right now, I'm just here to clarify some of the Thai, as per usual~
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
Taking advantage
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aylin: มนุษย์พี่นิสัยไม่ดี ฉวยโกาส /ma noot phi ni sai mai dee. chuay oh gaat/ = [That's] bad behavior, human senior. Seizing the opportunity. Luna, after getting kissed: นี่มันฉวยโอกาสกันนี่ /nee man chuay oh gaat gan nee/ = This is seizing the opportunity!
ฉวยโอกาส /chuay oh gaat/ is not the same as 'taking advantage of sb.' aka exploiting sb./sth. It means to grab/take a chance or seize an opportunity when it presents itself. In that sense, it's more taking advantage of a situation.

I know I said Steve is more math smart than english smart and that he'd have a hard time in history as well... but he should also be very political and know what the fuck he's talking about.
Punk Steve is rather popular, yet the ideologies and politics that are associated with the punk movement seem to be forgotten whenever he's brought up, which is a real shame cause I think he'd really agree with it. Like, let's say before he discovers punk, the clothes or the music, or the hair, he reads a lot of books.
His dad has a bunch of history and law books lined up on his self in his office, and ever since he was young, Steve would pick one up and read it hiding in his room before Richard got home. He wasn't supposed to touch the stuff in his office, but he just got curious. The more he reads, the more he learned about the government and the system and the police and so on.
Then, as he got older, he just kept reading. Not just older books, but newsletters and articles. He kept up with the news around the world and in America, and the more he learned, the more pissed he got. All his friends were joking about how hot Ronald fucking Reagan was, that they just didn't even give a shit about how bad he was as a president. Every time he brought it up, people acted like he was overreacting or some crazy liberal that they didn't want to associate with.
So he stopped bringing it up. Clearly, people didn't want to hear his opinions on the current War on Drugs and the police. Plus, everybody got this weird look when he talked about it. Some of his friends would scoot away from him, others would awkwardly chuckle and stop talking for a while, like they were scared someone would over hear him.
He wasn't stupid, he knew Hawkins was a conservative town. If he wanted to keep his peace, he'd shut up when he knew when to. Which just so happened to be all the time. But that doesn't mean he stopped paying attention, in fact, he started paying a lot more attention after the whole "Oh there's a weird hell dimension under our town where people could be killed in and the government is covering it up to protect their asses? Typical"
But he still doesn't talk about it as much as he wants to. Around Robin and Eddie, he'll mention things once or twice, but they don't really pay attention to Steve's opinions on those types of things, or if they do, they believe he learned that stuff from them.
So anyway, yeah. This headcannon comes from the idea that his dad is a lawyer of some kind, and Steve was raised surrounded by political talk all the time.
