“So how do you play?” you questioned, pulling out the instructions manual from the box and taking a good look at it. 

“You don’t know how to play Monopoly?” Alex questioned, turning to look at you in surprise. 

“I was more of a “Game Of Life’ person.” you shrugged, you slowly took money from the box, placing it at your side where nobody could see it, while the others were busy talking to each other. 

“Oh yeah, me too.” Oscar chimed in, smiling at you from across the table. 

Alex and you were sitting side to side on the private plane, while Oscar and Lando were sitting in front of you. Normally you would be taking a plane home with Max, but after the awkward events of Oscar’s first win, you wanted, no needed, to be on the plane with them. In case a fight broke out, not to stop it, but to film it. Then you could blackmail them for money if they didnt want you to post it. 

Although your ideas now seem frugal, because they seem to be better than ever, happily joking around with each other. Annoyingly enough.  

After Alex thoroughly explained how to play, all four of you got started. First round, you won. Cue Lando whining, “You’re cheating, arent you?” he glared at you from across the table. 

You placed the money you had taken from the box before the game under your thigh, “Don’t be a sore loser, Lan.” you laughed. 

Second round? You won. 

“Are you cheating?” Oscar echoed, squinted his eyes at you, you shifted, glancing down at the stack of money by your thigh. Yes you definitely were. 

“You have no faith in me.” you huffed shaking your head. 

Third round? You won. 

“You know what?” Alex threw his small stack of money onto the table, “I dont want to play anymore.” he huffed crossing his arms over his chest. 

You laughed, the three men had glum looks on their face, clearly not happy with the outcome of the games. “Good. Because we landed.” you muttered, secretly pocketing the fake monopoly money into your pocket. 

No way you were going to be able to sneak it back into the box without Lando noticing, not with the way he was glaring daggers at you. 

Hopping out of the plane you walked over to Oscar, “You did good today.” you muttered wrappin gyou rarms around his neck, while he wrapped his around your waist, “Im proud of you.” you beamed, pulling back and placing a kiss on the corner of his lips. 

He turned beat red almost instantly. Struggling to answer, you smiled, turning and ready to make your way home. 

Oscars eyes involuntarily travled down your body, his eyes widening at the sigh of monopoly money peaking from you back pocket. He called out your name, but was cut off by a loud shriek from Lando. 

“You muppet!” he yelled, pointing at your back pocket, “You did cheat! I knew it!” he took off into a sprint. 

You yelled, abandoning your bags and making it run for it, “Come here!” yelled Lando, ignoring the laughter coming from everyone around them, “You cheater! You bloody cheater!”

when Logan first saw you in australia, he was massively starstruck and couldn’t even get the courage to talk to you, so instead just ended up staring from afar the entire day. Oscar noticed the staring. since you were friends with Oscar, he did Logan a favor and introduced you guys

at first it started off with Logan asking you small stuff about yourself to try and get to know you better, but was met with a few dry responses since you were busy with uni most of the time. As time went on, he started getting more comfortable, with super sweet good morning and good night texts, and a daily supply of memes 

it was for his home race that for the first time ever, you showed up in a non-redbull outfit, a navy blue dress on and Logan’s team cap on to surprise him

sometimes Max would be a pain and when he was in the country the same time as you and Logan, hed almost always tag along to these ‘hangouts,’ insisting that ‘he didnt know you two were gonna be here at this time’

reluctantly, Max sat you down one day, and said that hed be okay with you and Logan being a thing only if he had permission to beat Logan up if he broke your heart. with a giggle, you accepted. “he’s not gonna break my heart, anyways, Maxie,” you said confidently

and so Max told Logan this too, so he finally asked you out on a date. hed gone the whole way; flowers, a nice dinner, dressed up all nice, and even insisted on not talking about fishing the whole night

still as Logan and your relationship developed, max would glare at logan any chance he got. logan would always feel a little anxious and uncomfortable when this happened, and you had to physically turn him around each time, slotting your hand in his to comfort him

Carlos looked down at you, brushing some strands of your hair off your face. You were in your rented out penthouse apartment in Monaco, sunbathing in the beautiful Wednesday weather with your son exploring the huge balcony. Carlos ( your husband ) was spooning you, wrapping his arms around your belly softly.

"You think it's going to be a girl." He whispered in your ear pressing a loving kiss to the spot behind your ear. "I want another boy." You replied, a soft hum escaping your mouth. "I can't have two boys named Carlos."

You opened your eyes looking at him unimpressed. Your husband only laughed kissing you lovingly, stroking your stomach. Since your son was born, Carlos ( your husband ) had decided to name him after his father: Carlos.

Did that make him Carlos jr jr? Carlos the II? Carlos III? And since you were living with the Sainzs, finding people in the house got easily confusing, to the point that you had to put numbers after the names.

"Mama! Mirar!" [look] You pulled away from Carlos 3 ( your husband ) looking at Carlos 2 (your son). Once he saw you were looking, he threw the plastic balls he had as far as he could in the water. This made your heart warm a smile reaching your face as you clapped proudly. "Vamos, Carlos." Your husband cheered.

You son smiled, wobbling to where you and Carlos 3 laid on the lounge. He climbed up the seat with your help, collapsing in your arms, tired from how much he was running around. "Ese fue un muy buen tiro" [that was a very good throw] You praised kissing his temple.

You turned around with Carlos 2 in your arms so he was sandwiched between you and Carlos 3. "¿Vas a ser un lanzador algún día? Porque eres muy fuerte." [You going to be a pitcher one day? It was already Saturday and you were walking through the paddock with your two Carlos-es ( what's the plural of Carlos? ). Carlos 2, wearing red bull merch (much to his father's dislike because you were a redbull fan and max somehow convinced carlos 2 to also become one), was sat on his dads shoulders, holding on his hair for stability.

Carlos 3 was holding your hand with his free one while you two walked through the garage. "Looks like it's going to rain." Carlos 3 mumbled, looking out at the weather. "You'll be fine." You assured leaning up to kiss his cheek, before gently removing your son from off his shoulders.

"Noooo." [noooo] Carlos 2 whined trying to reach his father. "Quiero papa." [i want dad] "Pero papá va a manejar" [But papa's got to drive.] "Pero quiero papa" [But I want papa] ouch. "Why dont we spend time with mama till papa finishes" You offered kissing his cheek gently. "We can go explore or pull out your toys till papa finishes, how about that?" "Bueno." [okay] He nodded, you had him once he heard explore or toys.

"Di hasta pronto papa" [say, seen you soon papa] You son only waved at his dad, receiving a quick kiss from him before the driver disappeared. "Podemos salir afuera" [can we go outside] "Por supuesto, mi amor." [of course my love]

Once Carlos 3 pulled up in Parc Freme, you two were the first to greet him. While you weren't a Ferrari fan, you still supported your husband, wearing his cap because you didn't want to buy one. Once you celebrated with your husband, you went to cheer for Max, who had gotten pole.

When Sunday morning came, you had to leave and go back to Madrid due to an emergency with work. Carlos 3 was only able to get his son to wear the chili bucket hat for the weekend, carrying his son through the grid decked in redbull merch.

"Well hello there." An interviewer greeted. "Good morning. di buenos dias, Carlos." [say good morning] Your husband instructed, but he only watched his son shrink into his chest shyly. "What's your name?" The interviewer asked. "He's not very good at english, mama's still teaching him." Carlos 3 spoke for his son, translating what the woman asked.

"Carlos." The boy replied quietly. "Really? How old are you, Carlos?" after receiving the translation the boy held up three fingers, looking at them confused. "There we go." His father fixed them for him, fixing the three to a four. "Cuatro." he held up his fingers. "Very big then huh?" Carlos 3 only looked at his son, gently kissing his temple.

You were glad the first part of the race took place during your breaktime, watching your son and husband on TV. "And we're expecting a second Sainz yes?" "A girl, I'm praying it's a girl."

You chuckled at him, shaking your head at the screen. "Decir adiós a mamá, Carlos." [say bye bye to mama, carlos] Your husband told his son once the interview was over, pointing at the camera. "Te extraño mamá." [i miss you mama] Your son waved shyly, a smile on his face that only made his heart warm. "Eh? But it's more fun with me, no? Nos vemos, mi amor." [see you later my love]

That's why after Daniel, who had very clearly been brought in to replace her, was switched mid season she posted the Wolf of Wall Street clip on her instagram to make it clear: I’m not fucking leaving.

So forgive her if she's been seeking a little respite elsewhere.

There's a hot, young Argentine at Williams that's been eyeing her. Checo’s a woman on the F1 grid, she's been eyed like that thousands of times, most of it unwanted. Although, it fell off after she birthed the twins and her tits never returned to their glory days. So it's a little flattering reminder she's still got it. Being able to speak in the same language also helps, not having to translate everything for doublespeak. They have rapport.

“How old are you?” Checo asks at the club. She's not there to celebrate, she just needs a drink. Franco’s at the stage where finishing a race is cause for celebration.

A group of tourists seem to recognize her, probably fans and she's in no autographing mood so she pulls Franco in closer in front of her, to block her five foot four self from the world. He misreads the signal, but is all too happy to step in closer; personal space be damned.

“Okay. I lied. I didn't want to freak you out.” Franco confesses sheepishly.

Checo drinks her whiskey, assessing it. “I was winning karting races while you were in diapers, yes?”

It makes her feel old just saying it. She doesn't know how Fernando does it.

Franco nods, pupils going dark.

“And…” she raises her left hand, eyes pointing to her wedding ring.

Franco smirks. “I don't mind if you don't.” He leans in for the kiss, and Checo leans back denying him. Too public. She's learned from that mistake. She does put her left hand on his nape, stroking it and praising the boldness. It's dangerous, sleeping with another driver. When you're a woman, it gives them too much power. That's why Checo never acted on Max's obvious interest. But Franco doesn't have a seat next year yet... as temporary and harmless to her prospects as it gets.

“Come on,” Franco’s voice betrays the frustration underneath the trying hard to be suave, “I know you're thinking it too. You'd rather be on a boat with me than this totally lame club. And what I might lack in experience, I can make up for in stamina.” He practically purrs in her ear.

“A boat? Williams is not paying you that much.” Checo laughs, even as she entertains the line about stamina. James is a penny pincher to a fault. And Franco might get F1 groupies impressed with that line, but as the primary breadwinner she knows a little better.

Franco’s undeterred. “Your boat then. I can be your yacht boy.”

Now wouldn't Checo love to be sunning on a boat, no kids running around, being waited on hand and foot by an eager, younger man who can go for round two in ten minutes. God, she hasn't been filled up in a satisfying way in so long, her cunt throbs at the fantasy, aided by the tall, warm body in front of her.

He had been watching her. Ever since Lando brought her to the paddock he'd been hooked. The way her eyes looked in the sunlight. Her smile when she congradulated him on his win. God she was perfect, but she was with Lando. And he hated that. Hated that she wasn't his. Oh he was obsessed. He couldn't help it. He knew what had to be done.

A stench filled the room as her eyes fluttered open. A low tick being all that she could hear.

She couldn't move, her limbs tied to the chair she was sitting in. Where is she? An what is that smell?. A stream of light seeps in as she sees a door open, followed by someone.

"You're awake."

He said, voice rough, like he had just woken up himself. She lifts her head to meet him. Max?

"Max..? Where...-where am I..?"

He chuckled slightly before speaking once more, his dutch accent prominate with his words.

"Don't worry about it liefde. All you need to know is you're mine now."

What? What is he talking about? She thinks. Wheres Lando? Why does it smell so bad in here?

"Where's Lando..?"

She asks, fear etching her voice. Max smiles widely, like hes proud of something.

"I took care of him."

He says, not explaining further.

Four days prior

Max had knocked on Landos door, she was at a party, so he knew this was his time to strike. Lando opened the door, surprised to see the dutchman in front of him

"Max! Whats brought you by mate?"

"Just wanted to chat."

Max says coldly, Lando smiles bright, allowing the dutchman in. Lando takes a seat on the couch, Max following.

"Anything up with redbull?" Lando says, looking at Max.

"Not really, Christians thinking about replacing Checo though. Not sure with who yet."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, something how hes lost his touch, that hes just bringing the team down. Which I can see, we've had to pay alot to repair his car from the constant times hes crashed it."

Lando nods. Understanding. Checos performance at redbull hasn't been the best lately. So maybe retirment could be in the bag for him. Lando decides to change the topic bringing her up.

"Y/n's at a party right now. Won't be back til late. I really love her mate."

Max keeps a stoned face. Not wanting to show his emotions at the moment

"Really?"

"Yeah, Im pretty sure she might be the one. Even got a ring picked out, let me show you"

Lando gets up, walking to his bedroom, the one he shared with her. Max followed him, playing with the knife that was in his pocket. Lando rummages in his dresser, searching for the velvet box that held the ring.

"I really love her mate. I really do. I hope she says yes. I don't know what I'd do it she didnt."

Max listens, twirling the knife around with his fingers, flicking it open as Lando talks. Stab and twist. Stab and twist. The knife connects to Landos side. Stab and twist.

Landos eyes widen, a sharp, burning pain shooting through his body, he grabs onto Max's arm, trying to keep himself upright.

"M-max? Wha..-what..?"

He stutters out, pain steadily running through his body. Max looks at him, a cold look, like he didn't care.

"Sorry mate. Can't let you take her from me."

He states coldly, not a look of guilt swimming in his eyes as he pulled the knife out, sticking it in Landos stomach this time, twisting.

Lando coughs, specks of blood landing on the dresser in front of him, trying to push Max away as he cries out in pain, his hands covering the stab wounds.

"You...-you're fucking insane.."

Lando coughs up. Stepping back, hitting the dresser, his hands covered in blood.

"No..Lando.." He chuckles, walking towards him slowly, "I'm in love."

Landos face twists into a mix of confusion and pain as he holds his hands out to keep Max away.

"Thats..-thats not love. Thats f-fucking obsession."

Lando coughs out more blood, this time splattering onto Max's face. The crazed look on his face intensifying.

"So what?"

Max stabs this knife into Landos stomach again, deeper this time, twisting the knife.

He cries out again, collapsing to his knees from the pain. His eyes wide with disbelief as he coughs from the pain.

Max uses the tip of the knife to lift Landos chin up, forcing him to look Max. He smiles at him, as if he wasn't about to take the young drivers life.

"I'll take good care of her." Max says softly, before sinking the knife into the pulse point of Landos neck.
