Hello I'm just dropping in to try and help spread some good vibes in the Bucktommy fandom, inspired by @thatmexisaurusrex so here are five headcanons:

Tommy got really into The Great Pottery Throw Down during the early days of quarantine, and he figured he could always use a new hobby, so there's a small kiln and a wheel set up in his garage. The wheel has been neglected a while, since Tommy found that he likes hand building much better, but when Buck finds out about it he goes down a rabbit hole learning about ceramics and he ends up being amazing at throwing, finds it very relaxing. There's already a bunch of Tommy's sculptural work decorating the house, but by the time Buck moves in there's also a lovely set of matching plates and bowls in the kitchen with a monogram of their initials stamped on them. A vase that's filled with fresh flowers every week. Their mugs came from Tommy's experimental efforts, all mismatched and they choose a different one to use every day based on their moods. Eventually, they work together to make a bird bath for the yard, which leads me to:

When Tommy's helicopter goes down, he's injured badly enough that a hospital bed gets set up in the living room and he barely leaves it for several weeks. During that time, Carla is hired to help take care of him and though Buck is there to keep him company as much as possible, he knows how boring a stretch of time off recovering can be. So, to help keep Tommy busy, he sets up a series of bird feeders outside their bay window where Tommy can look out with a pair of binoculars and identify and document all their visitors with a field guide and sketch book. He becomes Obsessed with this, names many of the frequent flyers, continues on to spend an extravagant amount of money on bulk bird seed every year, and makes sure the hummingbirds always have plenty of sugar water. Once he's healed, he and Buck, who is equally invested, plan hikes and trips around bird watching. They don't have any indoor pets but they love all their feathered friends.

Tommy was born a few days after Halloween and it has been his favorite holiday since he was a kid. He gleefully goes all out celebrating it and as a gift to himself, adds more decorations to his collection every year, some of which stay up inside permanently. He's this close to buying the 12 foot skeleton and Buck is not talking him out of it. They are beloved by trick-or-treaters for the display and the fact that they hand out full size candy bars. They prove they are very capable of executing a killer couples costume and scaring the socks off the 118 with some creepy antics at the party they host annually, but nobody can complain because it doubles as Tommy's birthday party.

The next time Buck hears about submissions being open for the firefighter calendar, he absolutely insists Tommy send in his photo. When he becomes Mr. June, (Buck's birth month, happy birthday to HIM) and is photographed for it stepping off his helicopter, stubble accentuating his cleft, flight suit only half on, tits out, sleeves tied around his waist, removing a pair of aviators, Buck loses his mind and buys so many copies of the calendar. The whole 118 and Harbor crew gets one on him. He has one in his locker displaying Tommy year round and one at home to actually use. He even mails a copy to his parents in PA and generally tells anyone who will listen about his hot firefighter pilot model boyfriend without a care for the teasing and groans he gets back, that's his man!!

I've seen a good amount of appreciation for Tommy and Buck's scars and tattoos and wrinkles, but off the top of my head I think Tommy's moles and freckles have been a bit overlooked. If we got to see more of his skin, you can tell he has a lot of them, on his stomach, arms, back, and chest, and Buck LOVES them. He can't really say why he finds them so attractive, but trust that he is kissing and tracing them every chance he gets, connecting the dots of his favorite constellation, and it makes Tommy feel so wanted. Maybe Tommy has some faint stretch marks around his pecs and shoulders too, from when he got really beefy and those little details that most people don't see but he knows well enough to draw on a map are Buck's favorite.

What a lovely thing to wake up to. <3 <3 :) No worries on me feeling like I’m doing something wrong, it was more so an observation and realization that perhaps I need to make sure I’m more explicit about whether I’m looking at things from a certain pov. But yeah you are not the only one, and it’s hard when we watch lore through povs, not helped by the fact that Dream doesn’t have one for 98% of the lore making it easy to be biased against him automatically. But I’ve talked about bias a lot I feel like so probably ought to not jump down that rabbit hole lol. I’m glad you are looking at things from other povs too though and manage to get along with your Dream apologist friend that way. I feel like that is what the dsmp is supposed to be. :)

On the other note, I really appreciate you saying that <3, and if it makes you feel better last week’s backlash actually provided an insight into the sucess for a therapy I’ve been doing relating to trauma and pinning down the past so it doesn’t effect the future, as well as feeling very validating. Like I said before, no one’s ever stood up for me in the past or had my back and it was very healing to have that. (Thank y’all for being my Punz and Techno XD <3) And it also almost leaves me with a sense of pride because for pretty much the first time I handled something like this differently than I would have before. Instead of retreating, I stayed. Instead of rolling over, conceding, taking the blame or not responding, I actually stood up for my self a bit. Instead of keeping it all to myself irl, I actually told people. (All of these things, certainly helped by y’all’s support of course <3). Hell instead of being upset to the point of not being able to think about Tommy ever again, I literally went on to post about him less than a week later lol XD. And that might not seem like a big deal to you, but not so long ago it would have destroyed me. The last time something similar to this happened I cried for hours till my whole body hurt and I had run out of tears. I would have likely deleted the app and not redownloaded it, in fact I’d probably be so hurt and upset I’d give it all up, including the fanfiction I’ve been excitedly working on.

So in a way, while it was painful and shitty, it also brought forth almost a sense of like celebration or pride I guess of how far I’ve come. It rocked my boat but it didn’t flip it over and leave me to drown. And it also was very healing to have support, even from people irl who’s reactions really suprised me… So, I guess as always I recommend if you have the means to go to therapy y’all, even if to just have a qualified objective person help you through life and provide you with strategies and outlooks to navigate relationships and challenges. And don’t be afraid to see a new counselor if the one isn’t helping, whether because of personality just doesn’t fit or they aren’t supporting you in the way you need. (Like I had a counselor once who basically compared my pain to the holocaust like wtf.… but that doesn’t mean all therapy is bad just because she was not particularly great)…..

i don't think they have a ty and tony kind of relationship exactly.. i think amethar has more naivety on his part. compared to tony where i think his closeness to ty was in part due to how he didn't make connections w others that easily. cal also did the most to convince amethar he was normal compared to ty craziest guy in the world hooked up w ru to make tony jealous the minute they broke up but was still like "ohhh man im sorry i didnt know u guys were a thing :("

the thing is if you tried to do a concerto bracket for all instruments the violins would sweep anyway no matter what LOL. so much of it is a numbers game in this case. like i remember the music festival i played one summer with a concerto competition with separate sections for "violins" "young violins" "lower strings" "literally everybody else"...maybe someone could run a bracket like that, do separate prelim brackets for violins, pianos, lower strings, and wind/brass, and then put the winners from those individual brackets together in a final? no matter what i think it would be Hilarious to see the violin players of tumblr ripping each other to shreds over like. brahms vs tchaikovsky or whatever
