Adobe Illustrator. Industry standard, huge brand recognition, whatever; the more I use it the more incredibly annoying weird bullshit I discover about it. One day raster/vector technology is going to undergo some sort of revolutionary change and new programs are going to smash Adobe Illustrator into oatmeal and I will not be upset about it at all

Something that is sad but also that I hugely appreciate about CK is that by the end, most of the systems that harmed the crows are still in place, but their relationships with themselves have grown and changed. I find this particularly interesting in the cases of Jesper and Wylan (shocking I know). Their identities still put them in danger of being exploited or harmed - Grisha indentures are still the norm in Kerch, and the auction scene made it very clear that if the Council knew Wylan's illiteracy was true, they would treat him much the same as his father did due to the culture surrounding productivity and ability. This might seem disheartening, but the hope lies in the shift in how these characters see themselves and their role in the world. By the end of the book, Jesper and Wylan are beginning to put away their internalized shame surrounding their identities. They may still have to hide who they are from the world to survive, but they're no longer hiding it from themselves - their true selves are no longer this crushing burden they have to turn away from to function. A general theme of the series is how, in accepting who they are and what has happened to them on a personal level, the crows place themselves in positions to make change on a systemic level - Inej and her ship, Nina and her mission, Kaz and his Barrel empire, Wylan and Jesper with their political, high-society empire. None of them are all the way there yet by the end - they're still healing, and both the loss of Matthias and the weight of those oppressive systems are going to weigh on them for a long time - but we get to see the very beginnings of that process. I'm going to bite someone.

I was poking around through Neopets stamp albums the other day and I've decided that my personal favorite is the Mystery Island one, on the grounds of having the rarest stamps be almost entirely misprints of other pre-existing stamps

Ghost cant grow facial hair. Ghost can’t grow facial hair. Ghost can’t grow facial hair. (Chanted into a mirror in a dark bathroom at 3am until he takes physical form behind me and snaps my neck)
It comes in all patchy and it’s a mix between white blond and a wheat-y yellow which just makes it worse. He tried one (1) time to grow it enough to put some color on it but it ended up staining his skin more than his beard hair so it just looks like he’s got a really crazy 5 o’clock shadow.
But he still has to shave every few days or else it gets caught in the mask and pisses him off except he ALWAYS misses a spot just under his jaw so there’s just a little tuft.
He tried waxing it ONCE before a really long mission but he’s got that ambiguous European genetic code that makes his skin SO fucking sensitive that it made him look like he had a chemical burn (but it’s hard to tell with all that other weird shit going on on that big ugly mug)

I’m so glad I started to listen to Star Trek audio dramas. The silver age comic levels of whimsy and shenanigans in them is incredible.

Dick and Jason would totally have a debate about reading. Except it wouldn’t be about whether Dick could read or not, it would be about whether classical literature is better than philosophical texts and they would hate the other because Jason would say that philosophical texts are a bunch of phony ramblings from old men who had nothing better to do and Dick would get mad and say classical literature is only popular because it’s too messed up for its time period and therefore the only reason it’s remembered and not because it’s actually good. 30 mins later Tim walks into the room with Jason and Dick not even a centimeter apart and screaming into each others faces and takes a slow sip of coffee and says “programming books are the most fun to read.”
Dick and Jason turn their heads so slowly to look at him that with each movement their neck muscles positively creak with pure revulsion for him.
Later Jason sends a half a dozen photos to the Titans and Bernard of Tim’s most awkward poses and Dick sidles up to Bruce and convinces him that Tim has gotten to the point where his sleep is affecting him so much he’s not functioning properly so Bruce takes matters into his own hands.

The journalists have been a problem since the screened but they’ve just gotten worse by sticking themselves into fandom discourse when they don’t need to be there at all. This is what one of them tweeted and it made me so angry:
https://x.com/kat__writes/status/1796683035514921368?s=46
https://x.com/kat__writes/status/1796683230629757217?s=46
because why are you speaking like this is an objective idea held by the whole fandom? countless fans loved the scene and loved bucktommy. If it didn’t resonate with some that doesn’t mean it’s objectively bad writing. I also cannot for the life of me understand how these scenes are being compared because in one, two of the guys are best friends not a couple and in the other, you have a canon couple and if a canon couple is talking to each other, obviously their flirting will be bold and outright and possibly sexual. The writers want us to know the couple is flirting. They don’t want us to dig deep for it in subtext. These are grown men in a relationship one of whom has been shown to very much enjoy sex and have a kinks already established. God forbid he flirt with his boyfriend and his boyfriend flirts with him beyond a little bat of the eyelashes.
yeah, that's not a journalist, that's a fan who happens to get paid to write about the show. and this is on her professional account? where she posts her actual interviews? babes no, that is literally why you have different personal and professional accounts. it doesn't need to be private/secret, but when you start putting your own biased opinions right next to what is supposed to be unbiased reporting, you lose credibility. if i can't trust you to separate your own feelings on a fucking twitter page then i can't trust you to do so in an interview.
the only people who have expressed an issue with the scene are ones who have found an issue with every aspect of tommy and bucktommy. not sorry, but i'm not listening to the opinions of people who have already decided they aren't going to like the scene before it happens, and can't even admit that.
