Honestly the idea of holy relics and the like is really stupid when you think about it, namely in Christian traditions. Like, really? You think God was dumb enough to accidentally leave behind a bit of his divine power for us to fuck around with?

You really think your all-knowing, omnipotent, eternally wise creator of the universe just, left us actual, unlimited power to fuck each other over with? Us??? They speak of him like a parent, a father - what sort of parent leaves a loaded gun on the floor with Cain and Abel around? Certainly not an all-knowing, all-wise one, that's for sure.

Like, you really think just because it had some of his blood touch it, the Spear of Longinus - assuming it still exists - would have some of his power? What, do you think Jesus was some sort of holy scratch and sniff? You honestly believe a supposedly wise deity would just, let some of his essence infect a physical object like that?

He already gave us free will, and with it we've already invented nuclear weapons and biological warfare and a dozen other ways to kill ourselves all on our own, do you really think he'd intentionally add to that list?

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then God and I have a pretty similar sense of humor, and I'll be raising his bet on how long it takes for us to drive ourselves extinct. I don't think that speaks very highly of the almighty, though.
