I really want to know what it would be like if Senya, being a dreamer, was like Heleana but with the flowers, but talking about more characters, like the Twins, Daemon, Luke, Nyra, Jace, Aegon III and their futures babies
i feel like in the same thing, she refers to people as flowers. she has specific flowers that she uses for specific people.
helaena is carnation (it symbolizes mother's love which i think senya would definitely see automatically because helaena loves senya so much and loves her mother a lot too)
aegon iii is red crysanthemum (it means 'i love you' in flower language.)
otto is hollyhock (it means ambition. do with that what you will.)
luke is sorrel (which means affection)
jace is dwarf sunflower (which means adoration)
daemon is tiger lily (which means wealth and pride, senya knows daemon is prideful, its one of the things she loves about him. her grand-uncle is prideful! and she loves him for it!!!)
jaehaerys is lilac (joy of youth) and jaehaera is larkspur (open heart) which are both traits she views her younger siblings as.
rhaenyra is aster (which means symbol of love. senya loves rhaenyra just as much as she loves her papa and mama)
aegon ii is edelweiss (it means devoted love. i think aegon ii is devoted to being senya's father, someone she can look up to.)
when senya gives out prophesies, she only refers to them in the flowers they remind her off, so people think she's just being nonsensical.

glad to know at least one winner knows some stuff about flowers, i have a small passion about flowers and their meanings, yet i’m never able to truly express it.
for scott, i’d like to give an Arborvitae, in the sense of everlasting friendship, and an Iris, in the sense of trust and hope.
for martyn, i’d like to give a Goldenrod, in a sense of encouragement, and a Pansy, in a meaning of thoughts.
for pearl, i’d like to give a Butterfly Weed, with the meaning of letting go, or the phrase, “let me go.”, as well as a White Orchid, in a sense of peace, or finding peace.
for grian, i’d like to give a Violet, which can be taken as a sense of Watchfulness and modesty, and an Edelweiss, with the meanings of courage and devotion.
for scar, i’d like to give him a Coriander, with the meanings of hidden worth/merit, and a Fern, in the sense of magic, fascination, and secret bonds of love.
and for cleo, i think she’d like a Hollyhock, for ambition, and a Snapdragon, with the meaning of deception.
you may take these meanings however you’d like, wether it be a symbol of the past or messages for the future. i hope you enjoy these flowers, and i’ open to any questions. :)
-🪻
Scott: ... Iris is a good flower too... sometimes hope is all that's left.
~~~~~
Grian: ... Watchfulness huh?
~~~~~
Pearl: Thank you?
{Pride: What is that supposed to mean? Are they trying to say something about us?}
{Reason: Let me go...huh}
{Creativity: What a beutiful meaning! Peace in contrast with the chaos of your soul}
~~~~~
Martyn: ...
~~~~~
Scar: What a beutiful flower! I'll put it with the others!
~~~
Cleo: Ha! What an interesting choice.
HELLO I HAVE FLOWERS FOR ENJ :D I couldn't find the actual post to comment again so asks will have to suffice Anemone - Forsaken (because he's doomed by the narritive)
Black Eyed Susan - Justice (Le Cabuc incident)
Purple Columbine - Resolution
Cyclamen - Resignation (He knows he's going to die, and he's resigned himself to that) Also means diffidence, which doesn't suit him though, so do as you will with that, as well as Goodbye
Edelweiss - Courage, Devotion
Hollyhock - Ambition
Hyssop - Sacrifice, Cleanliness (Okay, this is here mostly because I thought it would be funny, because he's somehow CLEAN when he finally makes his last stand up in the top room XD)
Iris - Faith, Trust, Wisdom, Hope, Valor
White Lily - Virginity, Purity, Heavenly (Victor Hugo won't let us forget this smh)
Nasturtium - Patriotism, Conquest, Victory in Battle (Well, they most certainly didn't win but-)
:3 I shall return whenever I manage to collect some for the others :D (Some may be repeats, because ajkdfhjadgskjdgjkgkjasd )
THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH OMG. this is so fucking helpful for what i wanted to do i appreciate this SO much seriously 😭
Flowers
"Your collection features a disturbing lack of consistency," Lae'zel said, somehow both looming over Wyll's shoulder and holding herself at perfect attention.
"It's not about visual appeal," Wyll explained. "It's a letter."
She snorted. "A letter. In flowers. When you have a functional set of written characters."
"It is a custom here to place flowers on graves. This year I'm telling mother of the people I have met." Most of Wyll's childhood had been spent behind a blade, but he'd always loved his mother's dried bouquets and spent many evenings poring over her books and notes to learn everything about each one.
Lae'zel quietly watched him tie individual bundles of clippings and arrange them in the larger one. "Which is me?"
"This." He pointed to it. One long stalk of proud red plumes, several inverted stalks of compact buds, and a collection of delicate, star-shaped flowers. Lae'zel's assessment was correct; they only suited each other in meaning.
Lae'zel's lip curled into a sneer. "Showy. I am not showy."
"That is a gladiolus. A noble flower. It symbolizes integrity, strength, victory and loyalty."
Her face softened. "Accurate. What of the rest?"
"Borage. For bluntness. Directness."
The sneer was definitely a smile now. "And the one that is upside down?"
"Lavender."
"It smells… acceptable."
"Lavender, inverted, means trust. And tied with the ribbon on this side, it signifies that this spray represents my feelings towards you."
"You feel you can trust me."
He nodded.
"You will tie it both ways, then," she harrumphed. "What of the rest?"
He showed her Gale, with nightshade for magic, lupine for fascination and imagination, gathered around hollyhock for ambition and prolific creativity. Wyll was in two minds about stripping the blooms from the hollyhock and leaving only the buds. Stripping the ambition and leaving only the creativity. Hopefully next year.
Karlach's part, with chrysanthemum for positivity during suffering, zephyrlily for expectation of something awful (one he hoped to invert next year) and Fleur-de-Luce for fire and flames. The bundle for Tav, dahlia for leadership, in red for energy and yellow for friendship, lily of the valley for determination and daisies for hope.
Shadowheart, with night orchid for moments of openness in the dark, forget-me-not—really a romantic flower, but he thought the theme applied strongly to her and he really would rather her not forget their friendship—and snapdragon, one upright and one inverted. One for lies told and secrets kept; one for lies admitted and secrets shared.
Last was Astarion, the one he was most nervous about, although Astarion (as a complicated person) would likely appreciate the complicated meanings. Larkspur for levity and capriciousness, cockscomb for foppery and because it was named cockscomb, and hydrangea, which meant aloofness, a lack of sympathy, but also a gratefulness in being understood.
All of it was wrapped in ivy for friendship and loyalty, and surrounded by his mother's favorites. He added a ribbon around the massive bundle, finishing it with rosemary and clover. Remembrance and a promise to think of her.
"Apt," was all Lae'zel said.
~*~
A perfect, sunny morning, the perfect day to deliver his flowers. Wyll made his way to his mother's grave in the gardens of the Lower City. Her gardens; mother thought everyone deserved beauty.
"Your wad of weeds is lacking. Would that you use this to complete it."
Lae'zel, surprisingly. She raised her eyebrows, shifting her weight in a way that suggested nervousness. She thrust a small bouquet towards him and said, "The shop built it at my suggestion. They claim edelweiss is bravery and devotion, iris for valor, faith and hope, and monkshood for a chivalrous knight. I insisted that they used one that meant a 'fool who always must be the center of attention'. They did not comply."
"Narcissus, in the future."
"I will remember that."
He took it. "Whose is it?"
Lae'zel rolled her eyes. "Yours."
"I don't need–"
She sucked her teeth. "If it is as you say, a 'letter', to a woman who perished in your journey to this realm, then she cares not for us. You are her mission. Yours will be the first news she gets."
"Thank you," he said, lowering the bouquet to the grave.
"And for your outbursts, I have prepared handkerchiefs."
"I'm not going to cry," he laughed. "There was a time I would, but that is past. Now I'm sharing my happiness, not my grief."
She snorted. "And what of these weeds on her grave? I will remove them."
Wyll glanced at the plants, still young, then looked closer. Perhaps he shouldn't have dismissed Lae'zel's offer of handkerchiefs. "No. Leave them. They're a letter."
"Then it is not my concern. I will leave you to read it."
Wyll knelt by the grave, running his fingers over the flowers.
Celandine, volkamenia, ragweed. On a bed of moss, for a mother's love.
Happiness is coming. May you enjoy it.
I love you, too.
🕸️💌🍒🔮 for Elodee
🕸️(Spiderweb) - Create a bouquet inspired by your OC! It can be based on their colour palette, flower language and symbolism, whatever they like best, or any combination of the three.
I looked up flower language, as that would be Elodee's specialty, and picked some out that i thought fit her, along with using ones i thought would go nicely with her color palette. Edelweiss means courage and devotion Goldenrod means encouragement and good fortune Hollyhock means ambition Iris means faith, trust, wisdom, hope, and/or valor. faith, hope, and valor are the meanings i paired with Elodee. She focuses on the future and works hard on her gardening and floral arrangements to make herself the best she can be at her craft, and she's devoted to finding her sister as well.
💌(Love Letter) - How easy are they to befriend? Are they more of a social butterfly or a lone wolf?
She's pretty sociable, but if she gets focused on her work, she'll accidentally ignore you, but once she notices she'll definitely apologize profusely.
🍒(Cherry) - Out of all of the Dream Friends [Kirby included], which ones would they get along with the most? The least?
She'd get along well with Bandee for sure, he's proof that even little waddle dees can go a long way if they set their hearts on it. She would talk about flowers with Taranza, he'd totally know all about flower language. He just tends to have little faith, and he would be nervous for her about her sister. He's less optimistic about situations than she is. She would not get along with Zan Partizanne. She's pessimistic under guise of being a realist, she's not any sort of encouragement, she's just generally a downer, none of which go well with Elodee's optimistic, encouraging attitude. They're both no-nonsense people, but what they consider "nonsense" causes their personalities to clash horribly.
🔮(Crystal Ball) - Out of all the treasures in the Great Cave Offensive, Kirby is letting your OC pick one from his stash to keep! Which one do they pick, and why?
Probably one of the "memories of [season]" items. I'm imagining them to be like magical items, their use is ambiguous but she assumes they'll help her with her gardening. And even if they're not magical at all, they're still pretty.
thanks SO much for the ask, this was really fun! im sorry it took a couple days, i've been busy and i wanted to put something together for the flower part
🌼 for the ask game :)
🌼 - Here's another Wikipedia article, this time on flower symbolism. What flower (or bouquet) goes with your OC best?
Hehehe, time for me to open Pandora's box for this one...
I gasped out loud when I read this prompt, because over this past month I've been obsessed with flower symbolism. I bought myself a book on Victorian flower language after falling down a research rabbit hole and have been slowly teaching myself all of the different meanings. Because of this, flower symbolism actually ends up playing a minor role in Agent Ace, so this question is especially appropriate (go figure)! So, thank you for giving me an excuse to think about it even more! :)
Of course, it was impossible to choose just one flower for each OC, so everyone gets a bouquet! I also may have gotten a lil' carried away with how many characters I included in this post... my five primary OCs plus three minor OCs (all from Agent Ace). I had so much fun matching flowers to the characters, and am honestly shocked I didn't think to do it before!!
hi rebecca!!! thanks for the ask my beautiful friend!!!! gonna answer these for gale and nox 🩵
🌞- are they a morning person?
you'd think it's the opposite, but gale- no, nox- yes! gale is a 'stay up all night' type, but nox was raised on a farm so they're practically programmed to wake up with the sun. either way i'm never short for cuddles in bed 🥰
🧜- what sea creature would their lower half be if they were merfolk?
gale- purple anthias!
nox- parrotfish!
🌻- what flowers do you associate with them?
gale- daisies. clematis for mental beauty (according to the old farmer's almanac), and the purple variety is the same color as his default outfits. hollyhock for ambition.
Hollyhock and Edelweiss
“Remy, they accepted it, my book, it’s published!” Logan rushed into Remy’s botanical magic shop in a whirlwind, a bright grin breaking over his face like silvery sunlight glinting off a stream.
Said person turned towards him, a pot of angelica floating in front of them at chest level that they gently pushed back into its place; a few feet above their heads, right next to the daisies.
“See? I told yah you could do it, hun. You’ve got the talent, and more importantly the skill to be an incredible writer.” Remy walked over to Logan as they spoke, before briefly asking, “Can I hug you?” Pausing a moment to wait to see if he would give his permission, they reached up to wrap their arms around Logan when given a clear nod.
“And now that it’s published…” They paused for a moment before continuing in a teasing tone. “Do I finally get to read it? Seriously, I’ve been dying to.”
Logan gave them a dry look, shaking his head in amusement. “You have not been dying, love. You’ve merely been impatient.”
“Impatient!” They squawked dramatically. “Impatient!, I have waited for you, oh lovely poet mine-”
“I am a novelist.” Logan interrupted.
“Poet.” Remy glared at him playfully before continuing. “Whose colorful words stole away my breath with every witty syllable-”
“Which one of us is the writer, again?” Logan asked, leading them over to the counter, and then behind it to the back room, using a hint of his magic to flip the Open sign to Closed.
Remy tapped his nose playfully as they travelled up the stairs to their apartment, sending a sparkle of magic off with their laughter. “Oh shoosh, stardust, you know you love me.”
Logan leaned in close as they settled on the loveseat in the living room.
“But of course. Who else would have such an exquisite laugh that I could fall for it over and over again?” Remy flushed to their roots at that, a stammering of letters tumbling over each other as their mind stuttered from their QPP’s words.
“I- I you- you- why are you so-”
“Cat got your tongue, my bouquet of Angelicas?” Logan teased, wrapping his arms around them as they cuddled together, moving the breezes created by the ceiling fan to carry the remote over to him, pressing play on his and their favorite movie.
“You-! Oooohhhhh, why are you so perfect! It’s not fair!” Remy buried their face in Logan’s shoulder, making him laugh.
“The only reason you think I’m perfect, is because you can’t see yourself from an outside view.”
Remy sighed, giving up on trying to win their game. They moved their face out from its place nestled in Logan’s shoulder, and settled down under the blanket his magic had brought over to gently lay over the both of them.
“After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
