Checking your sister relationship tag you list Kosuzu as the grand oneesan of Hiroshimaya on Gion Kobu... isn't Kohisa the grand oneesan of the Ko line? Also list Katsuyuki as being imoto of Katsuma, but Katsuyuki appeared in a doc as being imoto of Fumikazu. I was curious checking what happened to Ichiyuri and Katsuharu because I didn't see their faces recently but to my surprise they appear as active in the tag. Why they didn't appear for recent public events?
The problem with Kohisa being the grand onesan is that I don't have records for when she was active or who her imōto were, so until then she's kept off the list and the highest ranking member of that line will remain Kosuzu. According to Katsuyuki's erikae and Katsunosuke's misedashi sashigami it is indeed Katsuma who is Katsuyuki's official onesan. Fumikazu would be listed as her okiya onesan or just onesan in a general sense, so they're not wrong technically. Katsuharu just performed in Onshūkai but Ichiyuri was absent. As to why that was I'm not too sure yet ^^

Hi! I hope you’re having an amazing day. I’m wondering about Shibata and Hiroshimaya selling off some of their items as you said in a previous post.
Is there a specific reason they are doing this that you may know of? And do you know where they are selling them?
Thanks!
Shibata closed as an okiya a few years ago, so they've been liquidating their old kimono and obi. As for Hiroshimaya, they've just been selling off some older pieces to make room for some newer ones, which is something that all okiya do every so often (it's just not always as easy to find their items) ^^

Hello,I hope you’re doing well. I bought this Maiko Hikizuri on yahoo Japan auctions. Do you know to which okiya it belong to or which Maiko wore it ?
I love your blog, thank you always for your work.
I haven't found an image of it being worn, but I know that they've been selling items from Shibata and Hiroshimaya lately, so try looking up previous maiko from those okiya ^^

Hi! can you tell us a bit about Koai? Also, who is in charge of cleaning and helping maiko and geiko when there is no a Shikomi in the okiya? Thanks!!
Koai (小愛) of Hiroshimaya (廣島屋) in Gion Kobu debuted in 2001 as the imōto of Kosuzu (小鈴), also of Hiroshimaya. She had her erikae in February 2005 and became natori in 2019. So far she has yet to have any imōto of her own. Her biological sister, Danmitsu (だん満), is also a geiko! When there's no shikomi in the okiya the maids will do the cleaning and help the maiko and geiko ^^

Today in Gion Kobu: Misedashi of Maiko Kosumi from the Hiroshimaya Okiya!
Kosumi is the first Maiko to debut from Hiroshimaya in 3 years and 10 months, since Koeri had her Misedashi in May of 2015, so this is pretty big! Koeri herself could actually very well have her Erikae late this year already.
Kosumi has already been around as a Shikomi for well over a year now and has been photographed accompanying Koeri to engagements many times. Hiroshimaya is known to tend to have their Shikomi stay around for longer, it was similar with Koeri, which prepares them very well for the job. Kosumi is the first imouto of Geiko Kosen.
Kosumi was already very cute as a Shikomi, but she looks even more adorable as a Maiko! I find that she looks quite different with oshiroi on, I didn’t recognize her at first. She has that “Maiko-look” to her, so I can see her becoming popular with photographers in no time, just like her older sister Koeri.
Congratulations on your debut Kosumi, and all the best wishes for your career!
