he’s towel-drying his hair when the knocking comes, loud and ( for some reason. . ..  was this what they called a sixth sense?? ) particularly grating. Hidan doesn’t bother to slip on a singlet as a companion to his grey sweats  ––– he merely walks over, slides the lock out of place, and pins the whole weight of his glare upon the abyssal creature that had been hitherto protected from it by the solidity of the door.

             “ not my god, noooooooot my problem! ”  he declares, voice sickly-cheerful and expression spoiled-sour, before he ( oh so casually, so very easily, no doubts or second thoughts ) slams the door into the other man’s face.

All the Akatsuki members deserved more scenes. They were underutilized in my opinion. Their backstories should’ve also been explored on screen too. We always had flashbacks whenever a ‘good’ character was dying (or before a final blow), it’s only fair that the Akatsuki members get the same treatment.

( life. death. the tentative line drawn in-between. how many times has he nearly landed on the other side? how many times did he claw his way right out?? )

he laughs. ( it’s riding upon a nameless high. wild and unrestrained and manic around the edges if one cares to look closely enough. if they know how to. )

                “ why, detective—— ” and it’s always ‘detective’, isn’t it? never a name, of one sort or another. just a role, which is to say: just one step away from personal, when everything else could be.
