I recently saw quiet a lot people using the actress from “The Borgia” who plays Lucrezia as fancast for Helaena Targaryen. What do you think of it?😅

I think Holliday Grainger is just a bit too old for that.

I think most people cast her, because, she played that Incesteous love so well in that show ... and of course she's pretty.

Just too old.

Gysella Goodbrother (b. approx. 278 AC): One of the twelve daughters of Lord Gorold Goodbrother of Hammerhorn in the Iron Islands. Fancast: Maisy McLeod-Riera.

Hali (d. 298 AC): Spearwife who accosts Bran Stark in the godswood along with Osha and two deserters from the Night's Watch. She is slain by Bran's direwolf, Summer. Fancast: Natasha Culzac.

Hanna Harroway (d. 44 AC): Sister of Queen Alys Harroway, one of the wives of Maegor the Cruel. She was slain by Maegor's Kingsguard trying to protect her sister from Maegor's wrath following accusations of the queen's infidelity. Fancast: Sezgi Sena Akay.

Harma Dogshead (d. 300 AC): One of the captains in Mance Rayder's army, she is known for hating dogs and kills one every fortnight for a new banner. She is killed in the battle against Stannis Baratheon's forces at the Wall. Fancast: Natalia Tena.

Goodwife Harra (d. 299 AC): One of the servants of Lady Shella Whent's household in Harrenhal. She is later executed by Roose Bolton after he takes Harrenhal during the War of the Five Kings, for telling the other servants to serve the Lannister forces. Fancast: Donogh Rees.

Hazel Harte (c. 110-132 AC): Wife of Daeron Velaryon, grandnephew of Corlys Velaryon of Driftmark. Her only child, Daenaera Velaryon, married King Aegon III following her appearance at the Maiden's Day Ball of 133 AC. Fancast: Elizabeth Lail.

Helaena Targaryen (109-130 AC): Only daughter of King Viserys I and his second wife, Alicent Hightower. She was married to her older brother, who later seized the throne as Aegon II, and had three children with him. Both of her sons were cruelly slaughtered during the Dance of the Dragons, and she committed suicide by jumping from her window in Maegor's Holdfast. The very night she died, the smallfolk of King's Landing rose in riot against Queen Rhaenyra and the "black" faction of the Dance, thinking that she had been murdered and demanding justice for her and her sons. Fancast: Holliday Granger.

Helicent Uffering (b. approx. 171 AC): Sister of Ser Rolland Uffering, who was the fourth husband of Lady Rohanne Webber of Coldmoat. She came with him to Coldmoat and remained there after his death. Fancast: Nicola Coughlan.

Helly (main series era): A serving girl at the Peach in Stoney Sept in the Riverlands. Fancast: Szandra Asztalos.

It is still so fucking weird how easily people in the hotd fandom fancast parts that have already been casted???? Then claim ‘oh book accuracy’ knowing damn well the people they would rather play the role also are not 100% book ‘accurate’.

And it’s never for the reasons they should/could be different. Both Rhaenyra and Helaena get described as being plus sized in the book, but you can sure as hell bet the ‘book accurate’ castings people make only include thin actors. They only make them to disparage the actors bc they are piss babies about the direction of the show (with how people treat emma or liv) or bc the actors have ruined the incest self insertion vibe they want (emma or phia).

Bc both emma and liv have been vocal about how they see their show characters (key fucking word: show), they have recieved an onslaught on weirdos being cruel to them. With that unfair criticism comes the most ludicrous fancasts. It’s all wrapped in misogyny and sometimes even transphobia. The amount of gross screenshots I’ve seen from people the day emma was casted. Saying they aren’t ‘pretty enough’ to play ~the realm’s delight~…. The gag is most of those people now have Emma’s Rhaenyra as their pfp?? It just goes to show how all that love for a character is wrapped up in a wig and period clothing.

It’s becoming more and more clear to me, a thought I already had btw, that people only ‘stuck by’ Emma’s version of Rhaenyra for the delusional targaryen lover/staunch team black to the death of it all. Not bc they actually value emma or their opinions/acting. Bc the moment emma says anything but ‘Rhaenyra loves her uncle daddy’ (gag) or that Rhaenyra hates Alicent, suddenly people turn on them. Suddenly it’s ‘Olivia must be getting in their ear’. As if liv and emma being close means emma is going to change their thoughts or compromise their acting. Emma is an adult with their own feelings. It’s very weird to blame olivia on them clearly knowing that Rhaenyra cares for Alicent and vice versa.

Y’all need to put the played out Holliday Grainger (mind you she’s a transphobe who isn’t holding a candle acting wise to emma) fancast DOWN, and pick up some common sense and human decency

since you're a book fan did you have a fancast for the dance characters before the show happened? 👀

i dooo 🙈 but with the way fancasts are taken so personally I'm 100% people would hate my choices.

I'm actually collecting content slowly because I really wanna make a book based video edit of the dance, using only my fancast, so I go back and forth with certain characters like Lucerys, Jace, Helaena, the twins etc. But here are some choices that I feel more certain about:

for Rhaneyra there's so doubt Holliday Grainger is the one. She's been my Rhaenyra for years and I don't see this changing anytime soon.

for Daemon, as much as I love Sam Reid because he has the face I imagined Daemon to have, he has 0 content to work with so I have no choice but to settle for Henry Cavill who slays with the silver wig. I know Henry is a hated choice for targaryen fancasting (and I blame the dudebros for this) but he does have a certain vibe i imagined Daemon to have so i don't think he's completely off.

for Aemond, I imagined Bradley James purely because I saw him being used as aemond in a fanvideo years ago and it has been stuck on my mind ever since. And for some reason I always had this headcanon that aemond looked older than aegon despite being younger

for Aegon II, I think Jamie Campbell Bower is perfect for him because he has played irresponsible, arrogant characters before and I think he'd nail it. Plus, he actually looks very good with a mustache, which Aegon is said to have had in the f&b

Last but not least, for Alicent I used to picture Natalie Portman but lately I've been switching to Laura Berlin. I'm still slightly indecisive about this one.

One of the few truly innocent characters of the Dance, the most surprising thing about Helaena Targaryen is that she was also a dragonrider. I can’t help but wonder if she ever thought about flying away.
