Stardew valley bachelors (and krobus and the wizard) witnessing the farmer chug multiple jars of mayonnaise. Just really slinging it back.
Okay ngl I never did this till right now and I got everybody's reactions so this is based on the responses my farmer got after doing this
Spoilers: they've all known my farmer for about 7 years so it's nothing too shocking to them,,,but it's still highly questionable lmao
.....
Shane
"Umm..."
For years, him and Pam were beer addicts...and now comes along you, the new farmer who's a very...different kind of addict.
An addict to mayonnaise, that is.
For years, people have been judging him for his habit, so it seems fair that he should be allowed to judge you 100% for having the weirdest fucking habit in the valley.
He started opening up to you (in his 2 heart event) and you're just sitting next to him, drinking mayonnaise to wash out the beer he offered you.
Only after you two get closer does he decide "well shit, they're weird..but they're also one of the few who care about me,,,"
And he eventually lets go of it altogether.
But he'll still tease you about your mayo addiction from time to time.
"What're you gonna put in the potluck this year? Gold star mayo? Or did you already eat it on the way here?"
"Oh shut up."
"Heh heh."
Sam
"Gross!"
Considering it's one of his hated gifts, this shouldn't come as a surprise to you.
But the way you've absolutely freaked him out by drinking it in front of him (and subsequently making him miss his kickflip) was hilarious.
"That's what you get for skating on other people's property." You shook your head, smirking as you bring out another jar. "You think Jodi needs some for later? Or should I just drink it in front of her, too?"
"NO! Stop. Please don't do that." Sam hisses. "One, she might uninvite you from future family dinners. And two, she'll think it's one of those weird trends and blame me for it!"
"A trend..hm? Doesn't sound like a bad idea. This town could use one more tradition." You laugh, consuming the jar and not missing the look of horror on his face.
"A-And I thought Abigail eating rocks was nuts...you two would be great friends.."
Harvey
"Umm..."
While he's well aware of the many health benefits to mayonnaise, he wonders if you know that they're best as a condiment....not a beverage you can just sling back.
"But you told me to lay off the Joja Colas, doctor," you pointed out to him. "You're telling me those are a healthier alternative to this?"
"No, that's not what I'm saying at all." He huffs. "It's just..erm..I've never met someone who enjoyed mayonnaise by itself..it sounds-"
"Disgusting?"
"N-No! I didn't mean it like-"
"I'm kidding, Harvey." You laugh a little, amused by his nervousness. "You know any side effects to drinking large quantities of mayo?"
"..none in particular, but that doesn't mean you should-"
"Then if I start feeling anything different, I'll let you know. Thank you." With a wink, you pull out some dinosaur mayo and drink it on your way out of the clinic...with poor Harvey wondering wtf that was.
Regular mayo was fine, but that green icky-looking mayo...had him gravely concerned over what you were doing to your body.
Elliot
"Why?!"
You thought you were being subtle, drinking a little bit of mayo while hanging out at his beachside cabin.
But nope.
You've absolutely horrified this man. Traumatized, even.
It's almost as bad as the time you left a super cucumber on his doorstep, and the next day he sent you a letter demanding to know who made you play this "cruel prank" on him.
In reality, you thought it'd be a nice gift and he'd make something poetic out of a rare sea creature you fished up.
Apparently not and that's when you quickly learned it's a hated one.
"Oh don't be so dramatic," you shake your head. "It's easier to carry than some full course meal."
"But you could have any other food....why that?" Elliot asks, now genuinely curious about what goes on in your mind to think mayo is a suitable choice in food.
You have no explanation though other than "it's most convenient for me and I like the taste".
So he leaves it alone but....maybe it's better not to drink it around him without warning (or drink it when he's buzzed and he may not remember you doing that).
Sebastian
"Umm..."
And here he was, on Ginger Island, hoping to get a brief vacation away from the valley and all its weirdness.
Yet you came along to visit and check on your beach farmhouse--bringing tons of mayo jars with you.
You got thirsty while talking to Seb in the hot sun, and instinctively began chugging the first thing you opened out of your bag.
You don't even realize what you've done until he gives you the strangest look ever.
"Have you always liked drinking mayo...like that?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Um..not since moving into the valley and learning how to make it." You shrugged, smiling sheepishly as you brought out another jar. This time a green color.
"What's that one?"
"Oh! Dinosaur mayo. It's a lot thicker and kinda tastes like a kale drink-"
"I'm sorry, there's dinosaurs in the mines?"
Alex
"Umm..."
"What?" You shoot him a defensive look, cradling the half-empty jar like it's your baby. "You've eaten every raw egg I give you, and I never judge."
"But..that's a little different, isn't it?" He chuckles nervously. "Eggs are great for protein! Drinking straight mayo is...erm....are there any benefits..?"
"It's easy to make with all the eggs in my coop, and um..it keeps my energy up so I don't pass out."
It's an awkward explanation, considering you simply drink mayonnaise for the hell of it and didn't think too much about the "health benefits".
But Alex completely agrees with you, not making any further comments on it in the future.
Although how he's eaten dozen of raw eggs without getting some kind of salmonella poisoning is beyond both him and you.
Perhaps you're both a little bit strange, but he eventually came to accept that about himself.
Wizard
"Umm..."
From the moment you met him and obtained forest magic, Rasmodius knew there was something peculiar about you.
From gleefully retrieving ectoplasm and prismatic jelly for his studies to assisting him in getting the dark talisman back from his ex-wife's home, he's come to trust you as a potential apprentice.
So to drink mayonnaise while looking through his catalogue of expensive magical architecture had him....a bit confused.
"What?" You look at the man standing by the bubbling green pot, his eyebrow raised in question. "C'mon, surely this can't be the strangest thing you've seen."
"No, whatever keeps your spirit and energy nourished is fine and all. But..mayonnaise seems most unconventional. That's all I'm saying. Now I must focus.."
And that's all he says about the matter, not really caring too much.
You're grateful he didn't overreact.
Krobus
"........"
"You're not gonna say anything?"
"About what?"
"About..y'know..me drinking mayonnaise?"
"Why would I? You gift me void mayonnaise. I eat it and use it as a moisturizer all the time!"
Finally, somebody who finds your habit relatively normal---but the only downside is that somebody isn't human.
Makes you often question if you're really human yourself.
It never bothers Krobus whenever you need to sling back a jar of mayonnaise and pull out another one when you return from the mutant bug lair or hike through Cindersap Forest to reach the sewers.
He thinks it's just a normal thing humans do, but when you mention how it's very much not normal in your "culture"..he thinks THEY are weird for not accepting your tastes.
Welp, at least he supports your weird yet harmless habit.
You did try void mayo once and nearly keeled over, so you stick to regular/duck/dino mayo from thereon.

Sassafras tea – The spring tonic.
In the spring, many people would make a spring tonic from sassafras root. Native Americans used sassafras tea to purify blood and for a variety of ailments, including skin diseases and rheumatism. The Cherokee would make a poultice to cleanse wounds and sores, while they’d steep the root bark to treat diarrhea or ‘over-fatness.’
The ‘white sassafras’ grows along roadsides in thick clusters, usually from three to six feet tall. The 'red sassafras' is the most prized. Generally found on hills and ridges, it sometimes grows in mountainous areas to a height of thirty or more feet.
Native Americans in Virginia pointed out sassafras to British settlers, and in 1603, a company was formed in England to send two vessels to the New World, to bring back cargoes of sassafras bark. Thus, sassafras was one of the first, if not the first, forest products to be exported from what is now the mid-Atlantic states.
Sassafras tea was one of the more popular beverages at the time, not only because it contained many health benefits, but because it was delicious! The shoots of this trees also gave birth to the original flavor of the soft drink called root beer.
SASSAFRAS TEA:
Wash roots well. Put six dry roots in pan or coffee pot in about a quart of water. Soak overnight. Then place on fire and boil slowly till fairly strong.
Weaken and sweeten to taste. Serves 8.
SASSAFRAS TEA #2:
One small handful of roots, 3-4 inches long, dropped into a 3 quart enamel pan and covered with as much water as desired, depending on the number you wish to serve. Let boil until the tea is dark in color. These roots may be boiled over and over for days as the flavor increases with successive boilings.

Story at-a-glance
Alcohol consumption is linked to an increased risk of gout. A study found men who drink have a 69% higher risk compared to non-drinkers, while women showed no similar association
Gout occurs when your body produces uric acid faster than it’s able to eliminate it. Alcohol, especially beer, contributes significantly to elevated uric acid levels in the blood
Exercise, particularly at low- to moderate-intensity, helps manage uric acid levels. It produces anti-inflammatory effects that reduce responses caused by uric acid crystals and offers additional health benefits
Avoiding processed sugar, especially high-fructose corn syrup, is crucial in managing uric acid levels. Fructose stimulates pathways that produce uric acid from amino acid precursors
Natural remedies like applying citrates to affected joints and consuming quercetin can help relieve gout symptoms. Quercetin's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties reduce uric acid production and increase excretion

Thoughts on otto?
i really enjoy komsomolka's take that otto is a failed girldad
i think both otto and tywin are deconstructions of machiavelli's prince. but otto is very much tywin-lite. he is not as ruthless as tywin, not as cold, not as sly. his schemes are childlike compared to tywin's. never in a million years would have tywin suffered such a fool like daemon for so long. otto is a conniver himself, but he does genuinely care for his duty to the realm on a conceptual level as well and he does care for viserys, both as his friend and both as an embodiment of the crown. that doesn't preclude him from doing all he can to advance himself and his own - he is a noble lord, after all.
otto gets a lot of flack in the fandom & we should totally acknowledge the imprint traditional masculinity has on the less-privileged around him. but i have this pervasive, terrifying feeling that otto is actually... he is our father!! you take any reasonably-gentle, reasonably-decent man, who loves his daughter, and put him into the shoes of the second son of a noble lord, in a fantasy middle-ages setting, and he becomes otto. and that's what i find so bloody tragic about otto - this is the story of a man who is separated by societal mores and structures from the one person he loves the most in this entire world - the apple of his eye!! his bbygurl! nobody wins under feudalism! nobody wins under patriarchy! not alicent, but not even otto either! would mine own father do that to me were he in otto's place? would yours? what a completely alarming idea!
otto doesn't completely understand alicent because he doesn't understand women, not fully, not ever & he never will because he lacks the psychoanalysis tools & the critical paradigm through which to objectively assess society & re-arrange his world view. every character in the show has this problem and faces this wall eventually. this is not otto-apologia or trying to find excuses for him, but, equally, not accounting for this in our commentaries does a disservice to all of us, because it utterly fails to account for how our behaviours and beliefs are constitutionally conditioned by socio-economical structures. a person living under patriarchal feudalism, where war is a common occurrence, medical science is rudimentary and mental health non-existent, making life itself a very perilous affair, is conspicuously NOT going to have the same beliefs as a person who has (hopefully) gained critical-thinking skills as a result of their university education in modern-day capitalism. no matter how kindhearted or empathetic they might be.
that is to say that otto genuinely believes he is doing the very best for alicent and for his house and for the realm. he is providing the realm with an exemplary queen, he is connecting the hightowers to the crown via blood and he is giving alicent away to (in his eyes) a kind, good, gentle husband. he is making her the most important woman in westeros with the most amount of power, should she learn how to yield it. he doesn't understand alicent's terror because he doesn't understand abuse the same way she does - viserys never yells at her, is never violent to her, always treats her politely, is a jolly enough man and seems like he'd be fun to drink a beer with. alicent now has all the wealth, all the jewels, the finery, the security and the obeisance of those around her. that's how otto conceptualises happiness and he is giving exactly that to his daughter. would otto agree that it would have been ideal for alicent to be a few years older before getting married? probably, yeah. but an opportunity like this comes only once in a lifetime and, as fucked up as this may seem, this is an act of love in his eyes.
alicent knows her father doesn't truly understand her, doesn't speak "the language of girls", but goes along with it because she is in an uneven power dynamic with him, she is young & inexperienced and is primed to trust that her father's decisions are for her own benefit. there is anxiety-inducing conflict here bc the reality doesn't live up to otto's idealized and superficial understanding of what marriage to viserys entails. what this means for her relationship with rhaenyra, her soul mate. but, even so, alicent knows that her father is the only person in the whole wide world who will love her no matter what & never abandon her, no matter their disagreements. people don't understand why alicent loses her shit when she loses otto. this is why! he is not viserys, he is not rhaenyra. the only reason he leaves is because he is banished. and she (unknowingly & without her sanction) pays a terrible price to get him back
alicent is otto's pawn but she is not just a broodmare to him. he wants to actively work with her. he includes her in his schemes. he allows her on the small council. they have their own power struggles & disagreements, but he mostly rules with her. he wants her on his team so bad. together, you and i will prevail. whatever our differences, our hearts remain as one. he honours their stupid bet and delivers alicent's v generous peace terms to rhaenyra himself. he has been bested by his daughter, he respects that & doesn't undermine her. she really is his queen!!
just bc daemon & rhaenyra oppose otto doesn't mean he is a "snake". daemon is a true nepo baby & incompetent in every job he gets handed. rhaenyra is pissed otto "spied" on her, but that's literally his job as Hand, to be on top on things, act like the CIA and inform the King of any potential trouble. he has his own faults, but i wouldn't call him the evil mastermind the fandom has decided he is
#ask#anon#otto hightower#alicent hightower#alicent & otto#also rhys ifans eats every scene he is what an outstanding performance

National Lemonade Day
National Lemonade Day is dedicated to the refreshing summer drink. Lemons and sugarcane are both native to India, so it is likely that the modern drink is derived from a drink Indians drank called nimbu pani. Traditional or cloudy lemonade is popular in the United States, and consists of lemons and a sweetener, usually sugar. Pink lemonade adds flavors such as raspberry, strawberry, or other fruits to the mix, and it is rumored it was invented by a man who accidentally dropped cinnamon candies into his lemonade. Another form of lemonade is clear lemonade, which is popular in the United Kingdom, and it is more like a soft drink. It is many times used with beer to make shandy, and as a base for mixed drinks. While lemonade can be healthy because of its vitamin C content, the high level of sweeteners that are used to make it tends to negate its health benefits.
How to Observe
Sit back, relax, and have some lemonade. There are various ways to make your own lemonade, and here is one idea. You could also check around your neighborhood for lemonade stands, as there is a pretty good chance that there will be many set up to celebrate the day. If you have children or grandchildren you could help them set up their own stand. Lemonade Day is a group not directly connected with National Lemonade Day, but they help to get kids involved in starting lemonade stands, with the goal of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and teaching business acumen. This may be a good day to look into getting your community involved with their programs.

im not finnish but . hammerlock and wainwright going 2 sauna what are they gonna do there (hammerlock will take his prosthetics off ofc, he doesnt want his stumps to get seared like well done steak)
SEARING HIM... EHFJEV
Well if you're asking me what. They could do in the sauna there are plenty options but mostly people go there to enjoy the health benefits (good for circulation and skin health among many others, look it up!) and or relax. Or drink beers with the homies, in the case of middle aged men.
.. Or gay sex, but it's hot in there so it's not advisable bc two pulse rising factors is a bad combo at once. Carefulness recommended
I'm sure they'd find it nice to relax and maybe give each other massages or cuddle and talk about the things of the day or whatever comes to mind, from my experience long sauna sessions are good for getting pretty deep into some topics, it's an intimate setting where it's both easy to talk and also be comfortably silent.
If we're talking classic sauna activities people like alternating between the sauna and the shower, or if applicable, going outside in the snow to cool off then run back into the hot sauna. Ykno, classic finnish activities. But It's great with cold drinks nonetheless! Especially since it's best to stay hydrated when saunaing

you shouldn't be smoking when you have a child. depending of the degree in which you allow yourself to, that's bad parenting to put it bluntly, and if your unwilling to drop habits you shouldn't have kids.
first of all, its not bad parenting to smoke in general. i smoke for multiple medical reasons. and i dont even smoke that much because i don't want to be high most of the time. i just need to function. its not a "habit" its something i do because i can't eat without getting nauseous, and i have a debilitating stomach condition so i use marijuana for stomach pain instead of taking painkillers for the rest of my life. i had a medical marijuana card but i didnt renew it because i grow my own weed now. i'm not addicted to weed. i have never had a problem quitting it before. i rarely ever smoke recreationally unless its a social setting or special occasion. weed is medicinal for me.
and you sound like such an ignorant douche bag sending this kind of shit to someone you don't even know, talking about children that aren't even yours and are none of your business.
also, every single human being has some sort of bad habit or something they need to work on. you don't need to be a perfect person to have children or there wouldn't be a human population😹 nobody is perfect. and smoking weed doesn't make you a bad person. just like drinking once in a while doesn't make u a bad person if you do it responsibly.
every parent has bad habits. but my smoking weed isn't a bad habit. its a choice between being a functional person or someone who is in constant pain and throwing up 24/7. OR being on pain killers all the time. i wouldn't be able to do much at all for my kids if i couldn't function.
i don't owe you an explanation for MY life and my decisions but ur anon is so ignorant and so far from the truth that its actually pathetic. 😹 u don't get to decide if someone should be a parent or not. i highly doubt u even have children. and if you do, then you should worry about your own kids instead of MY personal life. i don't need parenting advice or life advice. i'm a damn good mom.
my smoking doesn't have anything to do with my kids. i don't smoke around them. it doesn't affect them at all. if i didn't smoke they would be affected negatively by the health problems i'll have for the rest of my life.
and if a mom chooses to smoke recreationally, that doesn't make her a bad mom either. nobody bats an eye if a mom drinks wine or ppl drink a beer in their free time. so why do ppl make dumb comments like this about weed? alcohol is so much more harmful than marijuana and doesn't even have the many benefits that smoking provides to ppl like me and others who use it for medicinal purposes.
educate yourself and stop giving out unsolicited parenting advice because you sound like a dick. "to put it bluntly" and this topic isn't even about being a parent. its a personal choice. 🖕🏻

What did you drink? I like apple sake and tsingtao beer… I used to drink vodka too. I’m not allowed to drink anymore, but I miss it :-[
There's a brand of apple sake I like, Fuji I think it was! My preferred sake is Gekkeikan black and gold unless I can get my paws on some tyku, but it's usually a little expensive for my taste since the abv is pretty low compared to spirits. Bang for buck if you catch my drift. Tsingtao is good stuff too 👀 used to recommend that one for the beer packs at my old job at an imports store, whenever we did beers of the world.
Right now I'm drinking Smith and Cross, it's an authentic Jamaican rum. I just can't escape the pirate vibes 🏴☠️🦜 I'm making old fashioneds with it! I usually drink an old fashioned with whatever spirit and citrus I have on hand. Sorry you miss drinking! It's rough when you can't do something you like, although at least it's. Something that's bad for u. So health is a benefit!
#smokey answers#thanks for the ask! 💖#youre fun to interact with btw thanks for following me u seem v cool

What’s the earliest you’ve ever had to wake up for work? 12:30 AM is my newest record – had a scheduled hike all the way in Batangas two weeks ago and we were set to leave by 2 AM.
Do you use reusable shopping bags to reduce waste? Yes, but not always. I'll sometimes shop unplanned so I won't always have a bag with me.
How many times have you moved? Once in infancy, two times in childhood. The next time I'll do so it'll be for my own place which is kind of crazy to think about!
Where were you going the last time you were a passenger in a car? Church, this morning. We also stopped by Wilcon so my mom could pick up something for the bathroom.
Do you know anyone who has changed their first name? Apparently it's really common for people my age to 'rebrand' and go with different nicknames in school and work, so yes.
Are you nerdy? If so, in what ways? I like professional wrestling, which I would consider nerdy/geeky.
Which one of your senses would you be the most devastated to lose? Sight and touch.
Have you ever dated someone who posted a ton of selfies on social media? I wouldn't say they did.
Do you know anyone who has been on life support, and survived? Not sure. I don't think so.
What scent is the nearest candle? Vanilla.
Have you ever been to Michigan? Nope.
Do your parents have a strong relationship together? Yes. They're toxic at times in ways I don't feel like expounding on, because it makes me sad; but for the most part their marriage has been a very happy one.
When was the last time you attended a religious service of any sort? Sunday mass this morning. It also happens to be Palm Sunday so people were waving those leaves around.
Do you ever feel like you’re sharing too much about yourself online? The fact is that I do lol, but it's only on this part of 'online.' I do keep some kind of wall on my other accounts and focus on my interests.
How many windows are in the room you’re in? None, I'm at the rooftop.
Are you on good or bad terms with your most recent ex? It ended on such emotionless terms that I'd say as far as terms...there aren't any. The whole thing just feels nonexistent, and I have found my peace with viewing the relationship as if it never happened. It's also healthier for me that way.
What was the last necklace you wore? It's silver, with a silver and purple heart charm.
What were you doing 3 hours ago? I was having dinner with my family.
Have you ever read any of Charles Darwin’s works? I don't think I have.
What was the first thing you did after getting out of bed today? I woke up to the sound of the dogs play-wrestling so I went down to see what was up and to play with them for a little bit.
When was the last time you read a newspaper? Safe to assume >4 years ago.
If there was such a thing as a mental health first aid kit, what would you want to be in it? My favorite chips, a reed diffuser, a picture frame of BTS, and a BTS concert DVD hehe.
Is there anyone who always seems to misunderstand everything you say? There used to be.
Do you think there are more dimensions than what we’re able to perceive? Yes.
What is currently on your bathroom counter? We have a cabinet instead of a counter, and in it we have...everything that's supposed to be in the bathroom, basically. The toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, napkins, and a few first aid items.
What was the last carbonated drink you had? Continued from last night. Beer.
Does anyone in your family have schizophrenia? Nope.
What light in your house was the last to have a bulb burn out? One of the bulbs we have in the living room.
What was your favorite book you ever read for a school assignment? Without Seeing the Dawn.
Do you know anyone who’s always on their phone when you’re trying to talk to them? No.
Have you ever been fired? If so, did you get unemployment benefits? I've never been fired.
Do any of your neighbors have loud children? A loud kid who just so happens to be a louder shrieker/crier, yes.
Have you ever been in an abandoned house? I've looked at one from the outside, but didn't go in.

Scars (23)
Chapter 23- Uninvited
Warning: fluff, hint of angst
With a drink in hand and face on neutral, Loki sat in the farthest corner of the room in the shadows. Tony decided to throw a last-minute celebration party they had finally got what they were looking for. Loki did not want to attend this party, but Tony insisted, saying, "You've got nothing better to do" At that moment, Loki wanted to retort, " Your daughter," but thought better of it and for the first time in forever the silver tongue remained stilled.
Now standing off alone, Loki wished he had given another excuse. The hate in the room was invisible, but one could sense it and know where it was directed. Loki felt out of place as he listened to everyone converse and laugh around him. He was uncomfortable. He didn't want to be here he wanted to he upstairs curled up with Alice watching her annoying Disney movies.
Alice was not allowed at the party or to leave her apartment, for that matter. " Too many people," Tony said.
Loki felt guilt for being here he knew she could hear the part from her room. " Can I join your pity parade?" Bucky said taking a seat
"No" Loki said, he was ignored.
Bucky sipped his beer " You're upset Alice isn't here" Loki lost his composure for a moment, just a moment, but the moment was enough for Bucky. " You're alright. I'm no snitch. I think it's kind of sweet. You being there for her putting all the bad away to just keep her company when no one else can ... or will. She doesn't deserve to be alone"
Bruce took a seat on the other side of Loki, water in hand. Loki glared at him.
"He didn't tell me anything I found out on my own." Bruce was now regretting sitting down " Security cameras. Tony is not as vigilant as he has brainwashed Alice to think he is." Loki took one look at his drink and tossed it back he put the glass down on the coffee table in front of them.
"Why?" He could understand Dr.Banner, he was Kind to Loki on account of Alice's physical and mental health. But why was Sergeant Barnes helping Loki, why was he allowing him near Alice. He could see on angel as to which he'd benefited from. What did he truly want?
To receive kindness of any kind was rare for Loki, aside from him brother, Any kindness he did receive always benefited someone else. The Avengers were Kind enough to let Loki stay on earth in exchange for community services, and Thor threatened to Leave for good as well. Dr. Banner remained kind because it affect Alice who he was taking care of in secret.
Thanos so generously picked Loki from the void, he brainwashed and tortured him. So Gods forgives him for not believing in just pure kindness.
"What do you want?" Loki asked, taking his Asgardian to meld out this human booze wasn't doing it for him.
"Why do I have to want something?"
"Because everyone wants something. Especially from the gods. what god better to ask than the one at your mercy"
"I don't want anything from you. And as much as you want me to I don't hate you either"
"Bruce sighed, putting a hand on his shoulder " I pity you". He pitied him. The man that represented self-pity its self-pitied him. Dear god, how had he gotten so low. The pity was pitying him. Loki took a long swig of his meld.
"I'm helping because... You could do good if someone leads you to that good. ANd I believe Alice is leading you to that good. So, who am I to stop her? She's a good girl and you haven't hurt her yet. So don't, don't make me regret this." Bucky looked Loki directly in the eye... until it got awkward than funny. Then all three of them started talking like they were friends they weren't enemies, they weren't frenemies, they were just friends in that moment.
Of course, others gave them strange Looks seem the strange three of the team conversating and laughing together. Feeling uncomfortable the three moved outside to the balcony. " The world's greatest misfit greatest bad guys together," Bruce said
"Explain," Bucky demanded.
" The Hulk doesn't have many fans. Destroying many cities and countries. I've fucked up everywhere I've gone. You, Sergeant Barnes, have rearranged history with the many politicians you've been made to kill. And Loki wrecked New York and introduced the world to aliens in the worst way possible." Bruce leans on the Balcony looking down "We've all done bad things, really bad things and we're here doing good now. Of course, we have different reasons, but we're doing good."
"My reason is Steve... I... I love him. He's my reason for staying and doing good instead of running off to end it." Bucky smiled, looking down at his hands. He loved Steve more than he probably should, he defiantly loved Steve more than Steve loved him, or so he assumed.
"Well, my reason is right up there," Loki pointed up. Bruce and Bucky looked up to see the glass floor of the next balcony. They could see a bundle of blankets on the floor wrapped up in Alice as she lay with her cheek pressed to the glass she appeared to be sleeping. They both smiled.
"Are you okay, Darling?" Loki called up to her she lifted her hand and looked down at them smiling Loki smiled up at her " What are you doing up there?"
"Listening to the party. Watching you" SHe said just loud enough for them to hear.
"Why don't you get out of this cold. I'll meet you in your room in a moment" She eagerly nodded before getting up and rushing to her room. " Gentlemen, if you'll excuse me"
"We'll make up an excuse for you, go ahead" Bruce waved Loki off and watched as he snuck his way out of the party. Bruce looked around the crowd and found Steve and Sam playing pole and Natasha by the bar.
" Everyone's happy right now. There's no problem... just calm"
"You're jinxing us," Bucky said looking down at the city "We're having a peaceful moment, and you're painting it out which means something going to come and wash the colors away. Something bad is going to happen now. Therefore jinxing us"
"Oh so you're superstitious" Bruce laughed
"We have two literal Gods inside, and now you want to test faith. The last time I tempted faith this made I ended up draft to war, became a prisoner of war, found out my best let a scientist prob him then joined willing himself, came to terms with my gayness, and then fell off a train"
" That's... a rough sequence of events"
"Indeed"
The two remained and had a pity party on the balcony.
-
Her sleeves were pulled up, and she traced the faded scars on her arms, unaware of Loki's presence. Alice looked up as the bed dipped there was all dressed up in an all-black tux she reached up, pulling him down to lay with her. He pulled her closer and put her leg over his hip.
"How was the party?" she whispered, running a hand through his hair he hummed at the feeling.
"Boring uncomfortable, nobody wanted me there. I didn't want me there either. So I uninvited myself and came to join you" Loki gave her a small peck on the lips " You're much more entertaining"
Alice giggled as Loki began to kiss her all over, making sure all exposed skin was loved. They were just enjoying each other in silence as strangers danced to the music below. Both of them would take this over any party.

How to Excel as a Barback: Understanding the Roles and Duties
The Key Player: What Exactly is a Barback?
When we think of a bar's service, bartenders often come to mind first. Their role involves chatting with customers, taking orders via the point-of-sale system, and crafting drinks. However, equally crucial to a smooth bar operation is the barback. This guide unfolds the essence of a barback, their tasks, required skills, and tips on hiring the right one.
What Is a Barback?
A barback is akin to a busser in a bar setting. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that the bartender has everything essential during service to maintain seamless operations: clean glasses, ample garnishes, stocked liquor, beer and spirits, ice cubes, and more. Barbacks, much like bussers, keep the service area clean, addressing spills and broken glass, and restocking from the walk-in.
For many, working as a barback is the initial step toward a bartender career. Their goal is clear: make the bartender's life easier, ensure smooth service, and enhance the overall guest experience. Barbacks are the catch-all problem solvers, whether addressing visible customer needs or resolving behind-the-scenes issues.
Responsibilities and Duties of a Barback: A Comprehensive Overview
Barback responsibilities vary before, during, and after shifts and can differ among establishments. Tasks are often prioritized daily based on urgency and specific zones of the restaurant. Here's a detailed breakdown:
Before Service Barback Tasks:
Arrive on time and clock in.
Put on the barback uniform.
Prepare clean rags for service.
Check and restock liquor bottles, mixers, and bar essentials.
Juice citrus, label, and date squeeze bottles.
Fill containers with garnishes.
Fill ice bins.
Replace beer kegs.
Restock counter items and clean surfaces.
Polish wine glasses.
Manage bar inventory.
During Barback Service Tasks:
Refill liquor and wine bottles.
Replace coasters and wipe down counters.
Manage dirty glasses and dishes.
Clean and polish wine glasses.
Fill water glasses for customers.
Run drinks to tables.
Clean used glasses.
Address spills and broken glass.
Assist bartenders as needed.
Inform security of issues.
Assist with POS system.
Pour drinks during peak hours.
Engage with customers.
Take out the trash.
After-Service Barback Tasks:
Wipe down counters.
Take out the trash.
Clean furnishings.
Polish glasses and dishes.
Set up and tear down the bar.
Restock for the next shift.
Unclog sinks.
Mop behind the bar.
Clean non-slip mats.
Organize alcohol deliveries.
Monitor liquor inventory.
Collect and handle dirty rags.
Coordinate with team members for closing tasks.
Hiring a Barback: The Key Steps
Given the odd hours of bar operations, barback positions are suitable for individuals with other daytime commitments or those aspiring for a bartending career. Hiring a diligent barback can alleviate pressure on bartenders, leading to better income and customer retention. Consider the following steps in the hiring process:
Type of Barback:
Determine whether you need a full-time, freelance, part-time, or contract barback.
Method of Recruitment:
Experiment with various hiring techniques, from online postings to industry contacts.
Job Description:
Craft a detailed job description outlining tasks, responsibilities, and required skills.
Interviewing Candidates:
Conduct interviews to understand candidates' skills, accomplishments, and objectives.
Training A Barback: Nurturing the Backbone of the Bar
Even experienced barbacks benefit from a thorough training program. This is an opportunity to introduce them to the business and the bartending team. Key steps in training include:
List essential products to keep on hand.
Introduce the barback to the team.
Educate on regular cleaning tasks.
Provide health and safety training.
Encourage questions and inquiries.
Familiarize with the beverage menu.
Assign a mentor for ongoing guidance.
A formal training program ensures that barbacks feel valued, crucial in a role often characterized by behind-the-scenes, thankless work. The job is fast-paced, physically demanding, and requires multitasking.
Conclusion: The Crucial Role of Barbacks
Working as a barback is often a stepping stone for aspiring bartenders. It offers valuable training, allowing individuals to grasp the fundamentals and intricacies of bar functions. Barbacks, the silent contributors to a bar's success, play a pivotal role in maintaining the bar's rhythm and ensuring a positive customer experience. Cheers to the unsung heroes of the bar—barbacks!
