London boy
Hi guys! I’m back with a lil quarantine pick me up! It’s been sooooo long so it felt good to write again. I’m almost done with this semester so I’m hoping I can do more writing soon. All this being said, make sure to check my note at the end about a possible part 2 and let me know what you think! Love y’all!
*Also PSA I’ve never been to London unless Heathrow airport counts so I tried to do my best research but sorry if things are wrong*
Fandom: Tom Holland
Ship: Tom Holland x y/n
Setting: Begins in Nashville, TN but mostly takes place in London
Word Count: 2299 (whew)
Warnings: Alcohol consumption? I can’t think of any others. It’s mostly fluff
Rating: Like a K or something
$
You were hanging out on Broadway St.
No, not the one in New York. The one in Nashville, Tennessee.
It was a place filled with great live music, dancing all night long, and lots and lots of alcohol.
You and some friends had gone out to a particular bar that another friend’s band was playing at, all dressed up in ripped up jean shorts, riding boots, and a cute cowboy hat.
As you all waited for them to get on stage, you ordered a round to loosen up a bit, you getting some Jack Daniels on the rocks.
That local flavor would forever be your first choice, especially compared to the tequila shots some of the girls chose instead.
$
Tom Holland, Harrison Osterfield, and some of their buddies strolled down Broadway, too.
Tom’s newest project was set in the city and a long day of filming called for letting loose for the night and getting to know a little bit more of Nash culture.
They came upon one place where a band was playing a Bruce Springsteen song, so they headed in, beelining to the bar.
As they waited for their own drinks, Tom turned his head to look around when he caught a glance of you, and everything seemed to move in slow motion.
You were coolly half sitting-half leaning on a barstool, sipping your drink as you soaked in the music. Your friend’s band always sounded great, but you decided to scan the room to see how other people were reacting.
You turned your head, the big curls in your hair flipping over your shoulder. As you looked straight down the bar you caught eyes with a brunette man laughing with his friends, face going slack as he stared back at you.
You looked him up and down, not taking much time to study his face, then smiled and turned back to the band.
Please come over here you thought, trying to not look again.
Tom turned to his group.
“Do you see that girl? That’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen!”
“Well then go on you div, make a conversation,” Harrison said as the others gassed Tom up, too.
The guys pushed him around a bit as he bounced up and down on his toes, trying to hype himself up.
A few moments later you saw a male figure approach from the corner of your eye. You had planned to flirt with him, but the second you turned to say something, you froze.
It was Tom. Holland.
You both stared at each other silently for a second, both surprised, until finally he spoke up, his accent clearly British among the southern Nashville drawls around you.
“Sorry to bother you, but I saw you across the bar and couldn’t help but notice how beautiful you were.”
A blush rose to your cheeks, and it took a moment before you found words to reply.
“I- thank you. You’re Tom Holland, right?” you asked incredulously.
It was his turn to blush and look at the ground. He nodded his head, a cute smile lighting up his face.
“That’s me. Now would you mind the honor of teaching me how to dance like the tennesseans?”
It took no thought to take his hand and tear up the dance floor that night.
$
It had been almost 3 years since you’d met Tom that in Nash. A night of dancing and drinking had led to you going back to his hotel that night.
Nothing had actually happened between you though, because you were both too drunk and sleepy to do anything but crash on top the bed.
It had, however, sparked the beginnings of an amazing romance, where in the present, you were strolling down Camden Market looking at art, clothing, and jewelry as you tried to decide where to grab food.
Hands held tightly together, you both decided to stop for a moment to look over the canal, but you instead focused your attention onto his face that glowed in the sunlight.
He turned to you and did the same, both of you grinning like kids when your eyes met.
“Oh how I love that American smile of yours,” he breathed.
“I fancy you too, darling,” you returned, heart full.
$
On your first trip to London, he’d taken you to Highgate, where some of his childhood friends lived. Of course you already knew Harrison, Tuwaine, and Tom’s brothers (considering most of them had been there the night you met), but you’d been nervous to make a good impression.
It wasn’t long until you were jumping into their conversation and joking too, as if you’d all been friends for years.
You and Tom had only been dating about 6 months by this point, and had somehow kept the relationship secret from the public, so it felt nice to be introduced as his girlfriend.
You’d gone into the kitchen to refresh your drink when Harrison followed behind.
“You really love him, don’t you?” he asked out of nowhere, “at least, that’s what we all think.”
You paused to think.
I guess the rumors are true...
$
Another trip about a year into the relationship and you’d learned to love high tea, listening to stories from Tom’s days in acting and carpentry schools, and the West End.
It was hard to believe every time you went to a show that in days past, Tom had been on that stage, too.
You’d also spent time at the pubs with him and the boys, sometimes watching rugby, other times playing pub quizzes.
There were also times that you went out dancing. It was a whole different world from line dances and country music, but over time it felt just as natural.
$
In the present, your time around the market had been ended early as clouds darkened and turned to gloomy rain.
It didn’t really bother you though, because as the cab took you through the city, you saw the lights glow and illuminate the glistening buildings you’d come to love.
“I’m sorry we had to cut the day short, love,” Tom whispered, squeezing your hand with his.
“Are you kidding?” you beamed, “I’ve had so much fun today! We got to explore the heart of the city, go shopping at the market, and eat great food. Plus, now we can go with everyone to that teahouse I love. What more could a girl ask for?”
“God, I love you,” he grinned as you leaned on his shoulder to look back out the window, distracting yourself for the long ride back to his house.
$
About a year and a half of dating, and you’d come to visit Tom while he was filming a movie at the Warner Bros. studio in Watford.
Since he was filming up north, you chose to rent a hotel in the heart of the city so Tom could stay closer to work (and therefore have more time with you).
Most of the nights he could, you’d go club in Brixton. Afternoons off were spent in Shoreditch trying restaurants and looking at art. You also got to see his buddies from Highgate again, joking and having fun just as before.
By now, your relationship was public and of course the paparazzi was often trying to photograph you, but you didn’t really mind it. It was nice getting to show the world just how in love you were with this boy.
$
For your two year anniversary, Tom had flown you out to the city for a romantic getaway, where instead of staying at his house like usual, he paid to have you stay in a royal suite at a 5 star hotel in the heart of London, overlooking the river.
You spent the trip mostly to yourselves, not going out to the pubs at night like usual, instead choosing to have private dinners or go to nice restaurants.
He took you shopping around Bond St, showering you with expensive things that you of course didn’t need (and had to buy a second suitcase to haul), but the gesture alone was the nicest thing a boyfriend had done for you.
Of course, you also visited with his family and had a nice time with all of them, but spending private time with Tom was the best of all.
The place you stayed made you feel like a queen (it was royal after all), and it fit the way he could never help but call you his Tennessee queen.
The lingerie he’d gotten you also came in handy, because when you emerged from the bathroom wearing only that, he would say in a husky voice,
“Babe, don’t threaten me with a good time,” before you’d do exactly that.
$
In the present, you were back at Tom’s place, preparing for dinner with his family when he called you to the backyard.
The rain had let up, leaving a lovely sunset sky, which is what you were expecting him to talk about once you came to the back porch.
“Wow, that’s pretty,” you stated, snapping your hoop earring shut to complete your look for the night.
Tom had said it would be a nice dinner, so you’d put on the soft pink dress he had bought earlier that day the second you said you loved it and some matching heels. You had also spent time curling your hair and doing some makeup, wanting to look and feel good.
“You look more beautiful than a thousand sunsets,” he whispered back, causing you to blush as pink as your dress. You gave him a soft kiss on the lips.
“What did you call me out here for? Shouldn’t we head out soon?”
“Right, yeah. I got distracted there for a second,” he chuckled before continuing, “Y/n, do you remember the night we met?”
“Of course. I’ll keep that day burned into my memory until the day I die.”
“Well, that night I told my mates that you were the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, and it’s still true. I don’t regret a single thing about the past 3 years of loving you.”
Your heart began to pound and you tried to steady your breathing. Was this it? Was this what you thought it was?
God, I hope so a voice in your head was screaming.
He took your hands in his and squeezed them.
“Y/n L/n, I love you so dearly. I’ve probably loved you since the night I took you back to my hotel and I woke up to find you laying atop my bed and just didn’t realize it then.”
He began to bend his knees and reached a hand into his pocket, butterflies now rising in your stomach like nothing before.
“I want to love you for the rest of my life. Y/n L/n, will you marry me?” His hands held open a box with the most perfect ring you’d ever seen.
Tears welled up in your eyes and a watery smile rose to your face. You were speechless, so at first all you could do was nod, then finally you exclaimed,
“YES!”
Both of your hands were shaking as he slipped the ring onto your left hand, and then he stood up, pressing you into a deep kiss.
You were on cloud nine.
You heard shouts behind you, breaking the kiss to see Harrison and Tuwaine cheering and recording on their phones.
“Wait a second, where’s Harry?”
Nearby, a bush rustled and out stepped the twin, camera in hand.
“You guys all really planned this for me?” you asked, elated.
“Anything for you, babe. I was worried that it would be ruined by the rain, but it looks like things worked out just right,” he answered.
You stared down at the ring, still not quite believing everything, but your gaze eventually fell down to your watch.
“Well, I hate to kill the mood, but I’m so hungry I don’t know what to do with myself, and it’s time to go anyways, so let’s get out of here!”
$
You rode in Tom’s car while the other boys piled into Harry’s. They arrived first and were waiting at the door when you arrived.
“Alright, follow us, we have a private room,” Haz said, the three boys leading you and Tom that way.
You had a feeling the dinner was an engagement celebration, but had no expectation of what happened next.
The doors opened to tons of people yelling “Congratulations!” while holding cute balloons and champagne glasses. You scanned the room and were happy to see Tom’s family and friends from London and home, including the one’s that had been there that night in Nashville.
The most surprising thing, however, was your family. You hadn’t seen them in almost a month due to work and travel, so immediately you ran into their arms.
“She said yes, by the way!” Tom exclaimed happily, causing another round of cheers from the crowd.
“I can’t believe you all came!” you said to everyone, especially towards your US friends.
“Well it wouldn’t be a real engagement if we didn’t celebrate with something special,” one friend said.
“What do you mean?”
With that, she plopped a hat onto your head. You pulled it off, confused until you got a good look at it. It was the hat you were wearing the night you met Tom.
“We were gonna bring the boots and booty shorts, too, but I think what you’ve got goin’ on is a little classier,” another friend piped up, garnering laughs from your friend group.
You pressed the hat back over your head, not caring if it squished the curls you’d gotten to lay perfectly not too long before.
“Well, then. Let’s get this rodeo started!” you exclaimed, gathering yet another of many cheers you and Tom would receive that night and for years to come.
$
A/N: Omg guys. I did it. I wrote something new. I’m thinking about making this a two shot, where the second part is more from Tom’s perspective and explores his visits to the US and I’ll call it Nashville Girl. Idk if any good songs exist that would tie in but whatever.
Anyways, love you all and thank you for your continued support! Please stay safe and STAY HOME!

Torino - Dreaming of Europe
Season Preview - 2019/2020
Torino will be looking to repeat last term’s trick of qualifying for Europe, although this time they hope to achieve that goal on the pitch from their own merit, rather than having Milan step aside due to their “it’s complicated” relationship with FFP. An ‘unkind’ draw in the last preliminary round saw Torino miss out on this season’s Europa League group stages, so the Granata have something to prove. Critics might argue that Wolverhampton undermined Torino’s place in the competition (winning home and away), whereas others might view their exit as a display of how great the gap currently is between Serie A and the Premier League.
If you consider Juventus, Inter, and Napoli on the front row of the grid, Lazio and Roma behind them, it leaves 2 Europa League spots up for contention of which one could potentially go to the Coppa Italia winners. Il Toro will have to rough it out with Milan, Atalanta, maybe even an outsider like Fiorentina or a surprise package from the mid-table crew such as Genoa. Not easy, but also not Everest.
There was no revolution in the summer, instead president Urbano Cairo kept faith with Mazzarri and his men with only minimal ins and outs. Emiliano Moretti’s retirement is great loss of experience and dressing room leadership, but other than the core of the team remains - much to N’Koulou’s displeasure. Simone Verdi’s return to Torino and the loaning of Diego Laxalt are handy additions who join a solid squad. Mazzarri is an uncompromising man of pragmatism; deploying a strong defence including Salvatore Sirigu, one of the best keepers in the league, and an Armando Izzo in the form of his life. Bonifazi comes back from loan with added maturity to which Mazzarri has repaid with more playing time.
The former Watford manager usually alternates between 3-5-2 or 3-4-3, featuring wide men Ansaldi and De Silvestri who tend to balance each other out offensively and defensively. Ansaldi, technical, can beat his man, over lap, whip in crosses, score. De Silvestri, lacks the flair of his Argentinean teammate, but compensates with his work ethic. New boy Laxalt as well as Ola Aina will feature in Mazzarri’s wing-back. Muscle in the middle comes in the shape of The General, Rincon, while Baselli does the box-to-box dance. Baselli’s teammates have often full of praise about the Atalanta youth product’s talent, and while he’s had a respectable career thus far, there’s always a sense he should be doing more. With 2 assists in week 2′s away win against his former club, fans would love to see him elevate his career to another level and propel the granata into Europe.
Torino are led by captain and talisman, Andrea Belotti. Once considered the next big thing in Italian football; a breakout season under Mihajlovic had valuations as lucrative as 100 million floating the front pages of papers. Injury issues and the setback of Italy’s world cup failure, after he was rushed back for that ill-fated play-off, plagued him for the season that followed, prompting suggestions of a one-season-wonder. In the world of strikers goals are the currency, and for a while Belotti’s wallet was empty. The 25-year-old must have found it really frustrating; there was a distinct spell when nothing went right for him. Even when playing well, every shot seemed to either hit the woodwork or draw a miracle save from a keeper and there was also a handful of penalty misses. Eventually he was even dropped from Mancini’s national team. Belotti will look back on a time in his career where he would have been convinced the Universe was doing all it could to test his confidence.
To his credit, il Gallo always honored his captain’s armband and his generous work-rate never wavered. In the second half of last season his resolve was gradually repaid; finishing with a respectable 15 goals. Torino and Azzurri fans will be hoping Belotti has turned a corner. If the start of the current season is anything to go by, it has, with 8 goals in 9 games between Serie A and Torino’s brief Europa League campaign - plus a goal and strong performances for Italy in Euro 2020 qualifying.
Simone Zaza also had a decent start to the season which suggested he’d be Belotti’s partner, but another Simone (Verdi) arrived at the 11th hour to unsettle the hierarchy. So far, he hasn’t had much time to integrate since his move from Napoli, but Verdi is a player of a certain technical quality and many feel that Torino is the right environment for him to consistently express his ability. With Iago Falque and Berenguer, Mazzarri has depth and quality in attack, meaning we’ll probably see his 3-4-3 more often than his 3-5-2.
A week 3 home reverse to lowly Lecce was likely an anomaly after 2 opening round wins, which included an impressive victory ‘away’ to Atalanta. The objectives are clear; Torino want to be consistently qualifying for Europe or at the very least be in the conversation. This season presents an excellent opportunity; Milan’s identity crisis, Fiorentina’s adjustment phase, and Atalanta’s UCL and stadium distractions might just pave the way for Torino.

man and van Watford
If you are one of the thousands and thousands of Americans who has moved a domestic or commercial enterprise in latest years, then you are conscious of the stresses and pressures that come with a relocation. Those stresses are solely expanded when you make a lengthy distance move, which is any relocation that covers extra than one hundred miles. Long distance strikes require patience, perseverance, and a partnership with a excellent transferring company.
However, even with the nice movers, there are nonetheless some matters that you can do on your personal to simplify the process. This article gives 5 tips, which have been put collectively via enterprise experts, for simplifying a lengthy distance move. The purpose is to get you equipped for your relocation, so that you can have an common and exciting experience.
The Five Tips for Simplifying a Long Distance Move
The first tip for simplifying a lengthy distance cross is to apprehend an enterprise time period called, 'first accessible shipping date'. Anytime that you have objects being transported through a transferring company, they are contractually obligated to supply these objects inside thirty commercial enterprise days of the first reachable shipping date. The first handy transport date is the first feasible day that you are equipped for your property to be delivered and accordingly the first day that they can be delivered. Moving corporations will coordinate their deliveries with the first handy transport date so that there is wasted time all through the transportation process. By scheduling their deliveries round the first on hand shipping date, transferring businesses keep away from having to wait to supply a cargo (which charges each you and the shifting employer money). When you apprehend the 'first reachable transport date' you can pick out the pleasant viable time and date for your gadgets to arrive, and sooner or later layout your go greater efficiently. If you want time to put together your new domestic earlier than your gadgets arrive, then pick out your F.A.D.D. accordingly. If you prefer your stuff to arrive exactly when you do, then you must set your F.A.D.D. so that your gadgets arrive accordingly. When you can format efficiently, you can simplify a lengthy distance move, so be mindful to find out about up on the 'first on hand transport date'.
The 2nd tip for simplifying a lengthy distance cross is to apprehend the a number of accessorial prices you can and might also be charged for the duration of your relocation. man and van Watford strikes are problem to costs that consist of stair fees, elevator fees, lengthy raise fees, shuttle fees, storage fees, greater quit fees, and cumbersome article fees, in addition to differing from nearby strikes in that they are charged with the aid of weight or measurement rather of labor hours. Stair and elevator costs practice if the movers should elevate objects up eight or extra stairs, or if they have to use an elevator. Long lift prices follow when the transferring enterprise ought to lift gadgets in addition than seventy-five ft when visiting from the sell off or loading vacation spot to the truck. This charge will increase with every extra fifty foot increment. Shuttle charges are incurred when the transferring business enterprise need to use a smaller automobile to transport your gadgets from the truck to the ultimate dump vacation spot (this takes place when the truck can't match at or close to the ultimate location). Storage expenses and more cease charges are a end result of the shifting employer having to keep your objects for any duration of time, or from having to sell off at a couple of destinations. The cumbersome article charge is specialized, and relies upon on the item, its size, and what equipment are required for the transportation of that unique item. Additionally, lengthy distance strikes are charged via the cubic foot or whole weight amounts, alternatively than via a labor minimal (as with neighborhood moves). With a higher appreciation of what you have to pay for on a lengthy distance move, you can make a difficult calculation of what your go may additionally cost, and you can put together for any troubles that may also enlarge the complete price.
The 0.33 tip for simplifying a lengthy distance pass is to get a man and van Watford. This is a provider that will fee an extra fee, on the other hand it will add a degree of comfort to your pass that makes it really worth the cost. In the transferring industry, the time period committed truck refers to a truck that is used for solely one shipment. This affords the exclusivity of having your gadgets journey alone, and the comfort of having the truck make no different stops or deliveries. Often with lengthy distance moves, exclusive shipments are loaded into the equal truck, so that the shifting corporation can take care of a couple of strikes on the equal trip. But, with a committed truck, there is solely one cargo transported through at that time. Because the transferring employer is dropping the possibility to take on different shipments, they cost extra for the committed truck service. If you desire to have privateness for your items, alongside with the warranty that they do now not make any different stops earlier than arriving at your location, then you desire a committed truck. This is the easiest way to get your objects from point A to factor B for the duration of a lengthy distance move.

The 2019/20 Premier League season has only just finished, but the transfer market is open and already in full swing. Chelsea have been the busiest in the summer window so far, with deadly attackers Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech already joining in big-money deals from RB Leipzig and Ajax respectively. Werner has already been training with Chelsea following his move from RB LeipzigAnd more arrivals could be coming to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard accelerates his efforts to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen. Meanwhile, Manchester City are said to be close to sealing their first signing of the summer with Valencia starlet Ferran Torres close to joining in a £40million deal, and Nathan Ake may well follow too. But what position does every Premier League club – including newly-promoted sides Leeds and West Brom – need to strengthen in this summer? Find out below… LATEST FOOTBALL NEWS GOSS Transfer news live: Spurs in Deeney talks, Chelsea's £50m Pope bid, Man United targetLATEST Aubameyang quizzed on Arsenal future, Arteta 'wants to build squad around him'GOSS Arsenal transfer news live: Aubameyang 'sounds like' he is leaving, Guendouzi to JuveEMOTIONAL Martinez breaks down in tears as Arsenal keeper sheds light on 'long' journeyPAINFUL Pulisic and Azpilicueta to miss Bayern clash with injuries suffered in FA Cup finalGOSS Chelsea transfer news live: £50m goalkeeper swoop, starlet wanted in BundesligaGOSSIP Man United transfer news live: Juve's Smalling swoop, £13.5m ace wanted, Sanchez feeINJURY Heartbreak for Pedro as he dislocates shoulder in last minutes as Chelsea playerCLUMSY Arsenal FA Cup hero Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang drops trophy during celebrationsEND OF ERA Eddie Howe leaves Bournemouth by mutual consent ARSENAL – MIDFIELDER With William Saliba joining up with the Gunners squad for the first time since his impressive loan spell at Saint-Etienne, it seems there is now a defender to genuinely be excited about at the Emirates. And although another is definitely needed, Arsenal should now be prioritising a move for an attacking midfielder to replace the out-of-favour Mesut Ozil. Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a loan move but he seems to have lost his magic touch and Mikel Arteta should go all out to sign Dominik Szoboszlai from Red Bull Salzburg. The Hungarian midfielder has had an excellent campaign, having scored nine goals and added 10 assists in 27 league appearances. He has a release clause of just £22million which would make him a viable option for the club. Szoboszlai has been a long-term target of Arsenal and he is available on the cheapAFP or licensorsASTON VILLA – STRIKER Their struggles at the top of the pitch has been clear for all to see this season so a proven goalscorer simply must be a priority this summer. Dean Smith should look no further than former marksman Tammy Abraham. The Chelsea ace had a great league campaign in 2019/20, finding the net 15 times, but became a bit-part player at the end of the season due to the red-hot form of Olivier Giroud. What’s more, the arrival of Werner at Chelsea could see his game time limited even more so perhaps a loan move back to Villa would be a no-brainer for both parties. Villa should go all out to sign Abraham on loan this summerBRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION – MIDFIELDER Graham Potter has been praised for keeping the Seagulls up whilst playing an expansive brand of football this campaign, but he will know there must be additions if he is to keep his side in the Premier League next season. A new defensive midfielder is a must and Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure would be a great option, though he won’t come cheap. If not, Huddersfield’s Jonathan Hogg could be a handy acquisition as he is good on the ball and could work well with former teammate Aaron Mooy. Doucoure is a workhorse in Watford’s midfield and he will now be a wanted manGettyBURNLEY – WINGER Speculation has been rife about the future of Sean Dyche, who has so far refused to rule out leaving Turf Moor this summer. The Clarets will barely have any money to spend this summer, but if they do find any cash they need to sign a new wide man. Johann Berg Gudmundsson has barely featured this term due to a string of injury setbacks while Dwight McNeil and Ashley Barnes need more help in the final third. Perhaps a deal for Watford’s Gerard Deulofeu could be a smart acquisition. Like Doucoure, Deulofeu will be a wanted man now that Watford have been relegatedCHELSEA – GOALKEEPER A left-back will almost certainly be signed this summer but right now a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga will be a priority for Lampard. The Spaniard has kept just eight clean sheets in the Premier League in 2019/20 and just ONE clean sheet away from home all season. Perhaps the most realistic target is a deal for Burnley’s Nick Pope, who has made 83 appearances in all competitions for the Clarets since joining from Charlton in 2016. The 28-year-old has been a standout performer in Sean Dyche’s XI ever since he replaced now-Aston Villa ace Tom Heaton. Pope kept 15 clean sheets this seasonAFP or licensorsCRYSTAL PALACE – WINGER Ryan Fraser has left Bournemouth after seven years on the south coast and he represents a ready-made replacement for Wilfried Zaha, whose time with the Eagles may come to an end this window. Fraser has undeniable talent and although he’s not been at his best this season, he would suit the Eagles’ counter-attacking style well. However, some bigger clubs in the division may well swoop in for the Scot, who has plenty of years ahead of him in the Premier League at the age of 26. Zaha is a fan favourite at Selhurst Park but he may not be at his boyhood club next seasonGetty Images - GettyEVERTON – WINGER Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott have both struggled for the Toffees since moving from Arsenal, and Bernard, despite impressing in bursts, has also lacked consistency. Therefore, a young and direct winger should be targeted this summer and Ismaila Sarr from Watford fits the bill. The Senegal forward impressed against Liverpool and Arsenal this season and has been a standout player for the Hornets in their disappointing relegation to the Championship this season. He is a constant threat on the counter attack and already has plenty of admirers in the top-flight following Watford’s fall into the second tier. Sarr could seek a Watford exit now they are relegated to the ChampionshipAFP or licensorsLEEDS – STRIKER Canada international Jonathan David looks certain to be heading for a new club this summer and Elland Road could be his new destination. The Gent striker scored 18 goals, with eight assists, in just 27 games in the Belgian league this season to put him on the radar of some of Europe’s top clubs. David is still only 20 and has enormous potential so his next move will be intriguing. The two clubs leading the race appear to be the Whites and Ligue 1 side Lille. It would be an enormous coup if Bielsa could snap him up. David has been on sublime form for Gent this seasonGetty ImagesLEICESTER CITY – WINGER The resumption of football couldn’t have gone much worse for the Foxes, but it’s still been a great season for Brendan Rodgers’ men. The need for more firepower is evident as that was clear from the absence of James Maddison in the last quarter of the season. Harvey Barnes has improved hugely this season and Ayoze Perez has been good in in parts, but another attacker to help Jamie Vardy up top needs to be brought in. Perhaps Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen would be a good signing for Leicester. The Jamaican, who has been linked with Chelsea in the past, is direct, quick and has a good goal-scoring record in the Bundesliga. Bailey, 22, has a good goal-scoring record in the BundesligagettyLIVERPOOL – LEFT-BACK James Milner has been a superb deputy for Andy Robertson when the Scot has been sidelined, but injuries are slowly starting to catch up with the veteran midfielder. A back-up for Robertson is needed and Jurgen Klopp should consider a move Norwich’s Jamal Lewis Lewis, who plays internationally for Northern Ireland, is well accustomed to the rigours of Premier League football, making him a very attractive option indeed. Lewis could be on the move this summer and several top clubs may be interestedGetty Images - GettyMANCHESTER CITY – CENTRE-BACK Pep Guardiola has spent an astonishing amount of money on defenders since he has been at the Etihad, but has remarkably never had a solid back four. However, Nathan Ake is set to seal a £41m move from Bournemouth in the coming days. City have also identified their replacement for Leroy Sane, with Ferran Torres set to join from Valencia, and other rumours have suggested that another centre-back could be signed. Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been linked with a move to England for several years, is said to be the next man on Guardiola’s wish-list. He fits the bill for the type of defender the Spaniard wants, with excellent distribution and an aerial presence to match. Kalidou Koulibaly is still one of the highest rated centre-backs in EuropeGetty Images - GettyMANCHESTER UNITED – WINGER The Red Devils seem to have finally cemented a solid back four after years of disarray, and now their focus must be on adding strength in depth in midfield. Another attacking midfielder – namely Jack Grealish – has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but a move for an out-and-out winger is a must and Jadon Sancho could be man to take the iconic no.7 shirt. The Borussia Dortmund ace had a blistering Bundesliga campaign, hitting 17 goals and the same amount of assists this season. A deal for the England ace looks to be edging closer by the day. Sancho is a long-term target for Man United and a deal could be finalised soonAFPNEWCASTLE UNITED – STRIKER Joelinton has had a torrid first season at St James’ Park but by his own admission he isn’t an out and out striker and prefers playing out wide. Therefore, Steve Bruce should give him a run-out on the wing and sign a goal-getter who actually knows how to put the ball in the back of the net. Troy Deeney is Premier League proven and could be a great option, but if that fails, a move for former striker Aleksandar Mitrovic could be smart – though that will depend on whether Fulham are promoted. Deeney could be a good option for Newcastle now that Watford are downGETTYSHEFFIELD UNITED – GOALKEEPER There has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Dean Henderson, who is currently on loan at Bramall Lane. Manchester United could make him their new no.1 in place of David de Gea next season as the Spaniard has struggled for form throughout the campaign. Other reports have claimed Chelsea could also make a bid for the 23-year-old, who has been a standout performer for the Blades on their return to the Premier League. Aaron Ramsdale has been touted as a possible replacement for Henderson should the England stopper return to Manchester United. It is believed the Cherries will demand around £11m for their glovesman. Ramsdale is a reported target for Sheffield United this summerGETTYSOUTHAMPTON – CENTRE-BACK Saints had a brilliant turnaround following their 9-0 drubbing at the hands of Southampton, but they have still shipped in a disappointing 59 goals in the Premier League season. That is more than any team not directly involved in the relegation battle since lockdown and Ralph Hasenhuttl is in the market for at least two new centre-halves. Valladolid’s Mohammad Salisu, who has a £10.9m release clause, is said to be one his main targets in the market. Real Valladolid defender Salisu is a reported target for Southampton this summerGETTY IMAGESTOTTENHAM HOTSPUR – LEFT-BACK Spurs need to strengthen in several positions, including in midfield and on the wings, but their need for new full-backs is the biggest necessity. Japhet Tanganga had to fill in as a makeshift right-back earlier this season when Serge Aurier was suspended, whilst Danny Rose was loaned to Newcastle and will probably stay there permanently. A cheap option for Jose Mourinho could Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico. The 27-year-old has been a standout performer for the Dutch club over the last two seasons and would reportedly be available for £20m. The Argentine provided five goals and five assists for Ajax in all competitions in 2019/20 and back in May, his agent admitted that the left-back would be looking for a new club in the summer. Tagliafico could be a cheap full-back option for MourinhoWEST BROMWICH ALBION – ATTACKING MIDFIELDER Slaven Bilic has done a brilliant job to get the Baggies back in the big time but they need signings or they could go straight back down. One player who should be high up on his wish-list should be QPR’s playmaker Ebere Eze. The 22-year-old has racked up 14 goals and eight assists in 46 Championship outings for Rangers this season. West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are also said to be considering a move. Eze is a target for a host of Premier League clubsGetty Images - GettyWEST HAM UNITED – STRIKER The form of Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek undoubtedly saved West Ham’s season and perhaps showed that the flashier signings such as Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson shouldn’t be relied on. A striker needs to be brought in to partner Antonio and West Ham should go all out for Brentford ace Ollie Watkins, who has been brilliant this season with 25 goals in the second tier. If Brentford are promoted through the play-offs, a deal for the 24-year-old would be unlikely, however. Watkins netted 25 goals in the Championship this seasonGetty Images - GettyWOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS – CENTRE-BACK Ryan Bennett is set to return from Leicester after failing to make an impact at the King Power Stadium, but he may not play a further part for the club with Roman Saiss cementing himself as the third centre-back behind Conor Coady and Willy Boly. Nevertheless, Nuno Espirito Santo will need another centre-back and who better to add than Jan Vertonghen? He’s as experienced as they come and would do enormous things for the club’s squad depth, as well as provide fresh competition for any one of the centre-backs who has a dip in form. It would be a great signing if they managed it, but a host of top European clubs are circling on the Belgian. Garth Crooks' team of the week: Luiz, Maddison, Grealish, Van Dijk
New Post has been published on https://thebiafrastar.com/garth-crooks-team-of-the-week-luiz-maddison-grealish-van-dijk/
Garth Crooks' team of the week: Luiz, Maddison, Grealish, Van Dijk
Liverpool are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League again after beating Sheffield United at Anfield on Thursday night.
Behind them, Leicester and Manchester City both won while West Ham thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 in the first game of David Moyes’ second spell in charge of the Hammers.
Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-0 to give Mikel Arteta a first win as Gunners boss and north London rivals Tottenham lost at Southampton.
Aston Villa also earned an important win at the bottom by beating Burnley and Watford won again under Nigel Pearson with a 2-1 victory over Wolves.
Brighton earned a point against Chelsea while Norwich and Crystal Palace drew 1-1.
Here’s my team of the week – have a read and then select your own below.
Goalkeeper – Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea)
The first save, at full stretch, from Aaron Connolly was sensational and his second with his feet from Neal Maupay was almost as good but just as important. Despite him making my Team of the Week before, I’ve never been totally convinced by the performances of Kepa Arrizabalaga. He appears to be a very competent shot-stopper but not as commanding on crosses or set-pieces.
However, the Spain international dug Chelsea out of a very difficult period towards the end of this fixture and was the reason Brighton did not come away with all the points.
Did you know?Arrizabalaga made four saves for Chelsea at Amex Stadium, with half of those coming after Brighton had scored their equaliser.
Defenders – Joe Gomez (Liverpool), David Luiz (Arsenal), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
Joe Gomez:It’s almost inconceivable to have a Team of the Week without a Liverpool player in it these days, such is their dominance in the Premier League.
However, I can’t help feeling the mighty Reds are only doing just enough to win games. That’s not a criticism by the way, but a compliment.
Joe Gomez is back in his favourite position and looking tremendous again. Five clean sheets so far this season. At this rate Liverpool could go the season unbeaten.
Did you know?Gomez won all three of his aerial duels against Sheffield United.
David Luiz:I’ve seen David Luiz in this mood before. There isn’t a defender in the country who can rise to an occasion and put in a stellar performance when he puts his mind to it quite like Luiz.
I’ve also seen him have the most awful games and left matches thinking what on earth was wrong with him today.
When I have interviewed him I have been left in no doubt that he is a highly intelligent individual who is a manager-in-waiting if ever I saw one. Those qualities were very visible against Manchester United.
The arrival of Mikel Arteta also appeals to him which means Arsenal could be back in business.
Did you know?No Arsenal player made more clearances (4) or blocks (2) than David Luiz against Manchester United.
Virgil van Dijk:Virgil van Dijk walked off the field at Anfield after brushing Sheffield United to one side without so much as a bead of sweat on his brow.
Liverpool were so comfortable against Sheffield United I got the distinct impression that the Blades were relieved to come away from this fixture having only conceded two goals.
With Gomez and Van Dijk at the centre of defence, Liverpool look impregnable.
Did you know?Van Dijk made more clearances (five) and more interceptions (three) than any Liverpool player against Sheffield United.
Midfielders – Abdoulaye Doucoure (Watford), Mark Noble (West Ham), James Maddison (Leicester), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)
Abdoulaye Doucoure:He doesn’t score many goals but when he does they don’t come much bigger than against Wolverhampton Wanderers when you’re in the midst of a relegation battle.
Abdoulaye Doucoure was outstanding against Wolves, which was just as well, as they were proving to be very dangerous.
Watford had to play with 10 men for the final 20 minutes but Doucoure’s willingness to cover the ground and run the extra mile was worth watching.
A tremendous athlete who, with his ability, should be scoring more goals.
Did you know?Abdoulaye Doucoure became the first Watford player to score on his birthday in the Premier League and the first player to score on their birthday on New Year’s Day in Premier League history.
Jack Grealish:Aston Villa desperately needed these points although it did come at a price.
Jack Grealish was once again the driving force behind this impressive away victory at Turf Moor. The goal by the Villa captain was beautifully taken and enough to put the game beyond Burnley.
However, I thought the tackle by Ben Mee, which resulted in Wesley being carried off, was a heavy challenge and went unpunished.
I really don’t understand why a player can get booked for the most innocuous challenge and a tackle which is clearly meant to make you wince does not.
Did you know?Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish scored his sixth Premier League goal in his 19th appearance this season – as many as he netted in 31 matches in the Championship last season (excluding play-offs).
James Maddison:James Maddison’s sixth goal of the season and Leicester’s second away at St James’ Park was a screamer and enough to put Newcastle on skid row. There is a time for everything in football and players need to know when and when not to play.
It would seem that Newcastle failed to observe that basic rule against Leicester City.
Florian Lejeune should be docked a week’s wages for playing the ball across his own 18-yard box, the result of which cost his team the first goal and ultimately the match.
Did you know?Since the start of last season, Leicester’s James Maddison has scored eight Premier League goals from outside of the box; more than any other player.
Mark Noble:West Ham had lost four home games on the bounce prior to David Moyes returning to London Stadium. What took place against a Bournemouth side who had themselves suffered eight defeats in 10 games was quite extraordinary.
West Ham suddenly looked like they were playing at Upton Park again – full of urgency and purpose.
Four goals, two of them from Mark Noble, and a clean sheet finally gave their fans a little bit of what they have been yearning for – entertainment – and it was a great way for them to start the new year.
Meanwhile, I have never seen Eddie Howe looking more concerned and understandably so. Losing nine out of your last 10 games is relegation form.
Did you know?Mark Noble has been directly involved in 78 Premier League goals for West Ham (45 goals, 33 assists) – no player has had a hand in more for the club in the competition (level with Paolo di Canio).
Forwards – Alireza Jahanbakhsh (Brighton), Danny Ings (Southampton), Gabriel Jesus (Man City)
Alireza Jahanbakhsh:What a week it’s been for Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
My Iranian friends in my local cafe will have been celebrating with double espressos and baklava after their countryman scored two goals in two games. They kept telling me he was a player, although he struggled to get a regular run of games under former Brighton manager Chris Hughton.
Graham Potter is a more attacking manager and he has found room for the Iran international. Potter has been suitably rewarded for putting his faith in the player. Jahanbakhsh’s overhead kick was acrobatically brilliant. The degree of difficulty=9.5. Style=10.
Did you know?Despite only coming on as a 68th-minute substitute, no Brighton player had more shots (3) or created more chances (3) than goalscorer Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
Danny Ings:For a striker to have scored more than half of his team’s goals when just past the halfway mark of the season is very impressive and that’s precisely what Danny Ings has done.
When you analyse the way he took his goal against Spurs you can see why.
Quite apart from leaving Toby Alderweireld in his wake, he then left Paulo Gazzaniga motionless in the Tottenham goal with nothing to do other than watch the ball pass him into the back of the net. A genuine striker’s finish.
Did you know?Since the start of last season, only Sergio Aguero (9) has scored more Premier League goals against the division’s ‘big six’ clubs than Southampton’s Danny Ings (8).
Gabriel Jesus:If you’ve been brought into the team to replace Sergio Aguero, while the Argentine is sitting on the bench waiting to be called upon at a moment’s notice, scoring goals must be a minimum requirement.
It’s as well Gabriel Jesus has the ability to do just that. Two goals by the Brazil international, against a rejuvenated Everton, came in very handy for Manchester City and will not do Jesus’ credentials any harm either.
City can’t afford to lose any more fixtures. It’s Liverpool’s title to lose as it is.
Did you know?Gabriel Jesus has been directly involved in 69 goals in his 75 starts for Manchester City in all competitions, scoring 53 and assisting 16.
Now it’s your turn
You’ve seen my selections this week. But who would you go for?
The Crooks of the Matter
I make no apology for continually banging on about my utter frustration of VAR in its current form. I raise the issue yet again, due to the total embarrassment the Premier League must be suffering whenever I hear fans around the country announcing their complete and total disapproval with a chorus of what Stockley Park can do with the technology.
Every time a goal is scored, or their celebrations are interrupted, they let the rest of the world know, and in no uncertain terms, exactly what they think of how the science is affecting their game and destroying their entertainment.
The song is unpleasant, aggressive and rings around Premier League grounds and through our television sets like a piercing tone. Commentators and pundits might do their best to talk over the chant but we all know what they are singing.
Football fans have always let us know what they think and it is the immediacy of their approval, or disapproval, and the way it is presented that provides football with its uniqueness.
VAR, in its current form, is sucking that exceptionality out of the game. The fans are making themselves heard and soon viewers may follow with their subscriptions. The question we must ask ourselves now is: is anyone listening?

With the below in mind, here's the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust on these delays.
“As is common in the modern game, it’s not just the away fixtures that concern Spurs fans. Our home game against Chelsea on the weekend before Christmas is causing the most anxiety, with many fans not living locally to Tottenham and eager to finalise both their transport to the game and their subsequent Christmas plans.
“The Christmas and New Year set of picks is the most important of the lot to fans, who also have lives outside of football, and the disregard shown by not only running almost a week late but by the radio silence from the Premier League is astonishing, even in this day and age.”

Chelsea Supporters' Trust on delays
"These fixtures are [six] days late.
“In terms of Chelsea, we have games at Spurs on Saturday 21st December and at Arsenal a week later. Both will clearly be on TV and come at either end of the Christmas week so knowing when they are will help both home and away supporters. Newcastle away is scheduled for Saturday January 18th and cheaper train tickets will be on sale very soon so, again, knowing the date will be very handy.”

Boxing Day trains
We expect Liverpool's trip to Leicester to be confirmed as an 8pm kick-off on Boxing Day.
At the time of writing, there are no trains travelling between the two cities on Boxing Day, only buses which take between five and six hours, the last of which leaves at 5.20pm.
The drive alone is around three hours at around 100 miles distance.
2019-10-17T10:53:47.560Z
Amazon behind the delays?
Only reports, but the reason behind the release of these fixtures being pushed back has - in part - been laid at Amazon Prime's door.
We expect them to show four games back to back on Boxing Day - 12.30, 3pm, 5pm and 8pm - but it has been rumoured that Amazon's attempts to squeeze in a fifth game proved too difficult to schedule.
2019-10-17T11:03:12.623Z
Nothing from Sky Sports, BT Sport or Amazon Prime yet.
2019-10-17T11:10:25.530Z
Still nothing.
Though word from Nick Goff on Twitter, who has crunched the numbers on Wolves' games over the festive period.
He believes/expects/has heard/worked out that Wolves could play Manchester City on Friday 27 December and then face Liverpool just 40 hours later on Sunday 29 December.
Ouch. It would be nice if any of the above was confirmed any time soon.
2019-10-17T11:13:45.730Z
Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video Sport's Twitter feed is posting clips of Champions League games.
A competition, it's worth noting, which they do not have rights to broadcast on Boxing Day.
The wait goes on.

UPDATE: Release pushed back
We just spoke to the Premier League and we won't be getting the fixtures for another couple of hours at least.
We understand the big reveal could come around mid-afternoon today, but there are still a few final details to iron out first.

No Dendoncker, £18m man comes in: Predicted Wolves XI vs Man City - opinion
Wolves’ trip to Manchester City is likely the last thing they would have wanted after the trip to Istanbul on Thursday, but they should be feeling confident after securing back-to-back wins.
Willy Boly was the hero against Besiktas but the goal came due a moment of quality from Ruben Neves, and Nuno Espirito Santo will need him to be on top form if his side are to get something from the match.
Watch Wolverhampton Wanderers Live Streams With StreamFootball.tv Below
With the Citizens in goal scoring form Wolves are likely to spend long periods without the ball, and though their structured 5-2-3 formation should come in handy, it is vital they have an outlet with which to counter.
Considering that, here is how Wanderers could line up at the Etihad.
The inclusion of Adama Traore is vital if they are to get anything from the match.
The Spaniard, who cost £18m, should prove useful as a source of relief to Wolves when they’re on the backfoot, as his ability to run with the ball and carry it upfield will help to prevent his side from sitting too deep and stop City coming onto them.
Compared to his teammates he has fresher legs after only playing 45 minutes on Thursday, and if he can match his average of 2.8 successful dribbles per game this term then Wolves may have some joy going forward.
He has also improved in the final third, too, with an average of one key pass per game and 1.3 successful crosses, but whether he and Wolves can be clinical enough is yet to be seen.
Kevin De Bruyne has been a key threat for City with two goals and nine assists but his absence could lead Nuno to be more ambitious, and that could result in Neto getting the nod ahead of Leander Dendoncker, who may otherwise have had the role of keeping a close watch on his compatriot.
Neto has started just one league game and he is yet to show his best quality, with 0.4 successful dribbles and 0.4 key passes, but his assist last weekend against Watford shows he is adapting.
The trip to Manchester could be a great learning experience for him, particularly as it is a game where there is little pressure on Wolves to get a result.

Chelsea 4 Watford 3 - Monday 15 May 2017
Still on a high from our title winning exploits just three days earlier, the celebrations continued at Stamford Bridge as we played host to Watford in our penultimate league game of the season.
In an unsurprisingly changed team lineup, we had Begovic in goal with Zouma, captain, leader, legend JT and Ake making up the back three. In midfield were Kante and Chalobah, flanked by the ever present Azpilicueta and a welcome return for Kenedy. Up front, Willian and Hazard were supporting title goal hero Batshuayi up top. On the bench were Eduardo, Cahill, Aina, Alonso, Fabregas, Pedro and Costa.
A guard of honour from the Watford team greeted our boys, fittingly led out by JT. We kicked off to the resounded chorus of Campeones, and Antonio, Antonio as the boys set about their business on the pitch. To be fair, it did seem like a bit of an end of season kick about, except the Watford players seemed to want to kick about our players rather than the ball, Watford boss Mazzarri was clearly letting his previous with Conte do the talking on the pitch.
We were moving the ball around with confidence, the assured look of a team on top of their game, and we were dominating the play. And it was a fitting breakthrough just after 20 minutes when JT’s legs got the ball over the line, a scramble following a corner ball dropped into the box. But straight up the other end and an unfortunate header from JT back towards Begovic in goal found Capoue lurking as he nodded the ball into an empty net. Lack of communication there, but you had to feel for JT, not the sort of double double double he would want to be remembered for. Moving swiftly on....
We continued to play with style, Hazard taking receipt of some superb long passes that created chances on goal. We kept knocking on the door until it was finally answered by Azpilicueta, another corner, this time finding our ever reliable defender on the edge of the box as he planted the ball into the far corner of the goal. Our dominance was rewarded as our lead was restored, HT 2-1.
Second half, no changes, and we were looking to increase our lead from the off and just a couple of minutes in Batshuayi had done just that, Ake picking up Kenedy's probing ball into the box, before square passing it to the Batman as he bore down on goal. But once again we conceded straight away, Janmaat managing to wriggle his way up the park and through our defenders, firing a shot past Begovic. This game was turning into a bit of a goal fest and with plenty of time still left to play.
It was all starting to get a bit messy, a few strong challenges flying in as tensions started to rise and as Watford sniffed an equaliser. The home crowd did their bit to support the boys, in full voice around the ground; we were in celebratory mood regardless of the score, the main job already done the previous Friday.
But that equaliser when it came wasn't in the script, newly introduced substitute Okaka, built like a brick sh!thouse, standing his ground as the ball flew into the box and surrounded by blue shirts he managed to dig the ball out and through Begovic.
Cue our first changes Aina on for Kenedy, with just over 15 minutes to find a winner, mindful not to concede either. Our second change a few minutes later saw Chalobah replaced by Fabregas.
Watford were sensing blood, buoyed by their good fortune, and continued to push forward with speculative shots on goal. But we were just biding our time, patient build up and possession around their box. The Watford boys seemed to be getting a bit narked by it all as Batshuayi was clattered by Prodl, and our man was substituted by Pedro limping towards the bench.
With all our creative forwards now on the pitch we starting to run rings round them and as we approached full time it was assist king Fabregas who added to his goal tally when he collected the ball on the edge of the box and deftly placed it into the corner of the goal. Magical. And just the lift the crowd needed to get the party started.
Into 5 minutes of stoppage time and all hell broke loose when Prodl caught Pedro sending him flying, too fast for the likes of that ponytailed lump, and he was given his marching orders by referee Lee Mason for a second bookable offence. And it didn't stop there as a vengeful Behrami laid into little Pedro, who appeared to be smirking behind his toothy smile. Handy bit of time wasting though!
The final whistle blew, prompting fireworks and shiny streamers to be launched from the top of the stands and a lap of honour from our boys, a chance for them to celebrate in front of the home support. A brilliant end to the night as Antonio and his conquering heroes could enjoy the adulation of our fans all around the ground ahead of the official trophy presentation at our upcoming final league game. It will also be JT’s final game as a Chelsea player at Stamford Bridge, it’s going to be emotional.....

10 rising stars to watch at the Under 21 European Championships in Italy
The European Under-21 Championship gets underway in Italy and San Marino on Sunday with 12 nations competing for the trophy
It's typically a showcase of some of the brightest talents in the game and an excellent proving ground as they try and take the next step in their careers.
Ahead of the tournament, we highlight 10 players to watch over the next couple of weeks.
Luka Jovic (Serbia)
The Serbian striker has been making headlines already this summer following his £ 62million transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid .
It came off the back of an outstanding season for the Bundesliga club in which it scored 27 goals to help them to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.
Jovic, 21, already has six caps for the Serbian senio r side so this will be something of a step down and a good chance to show Real fans what he can do.
Luka Jovic completed a £ 62m move to Real Madrid ahead of the Under-21 Championships
Moise Kean (Italy)
We're only just beginning to see the potential of 19-year-old Juventus striker Kean and this competition should be another great showcase for him.
He started to pick up regular minutes in the Juventus side towards the end of the season as they were sauntered to another Series A title
Scored for the senior Azzurri side in their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Finland and Liechtenstein back in March and should thrive in front of home support here.
Moise Kean, 19, is starting to make an impact on the Juventus and Italy teams
Phil Foden (England)
Aidy Boothroyd leads a talented England squad into this competition and many of them already have winners medals in big competitions at youth level.
Manchester City academy graduate Foden helped the Young Lions win the Under-17 World Cup two years ago and has accelerated from there.
Played 26 matches for Pep Guardiola's just passed during the Quadruple season and those who have seen him play fully expect him to be a mainstay at City and for England for years to come.
Phil Foden is all smiles in training at St George's Park for England prepare for the tournament
Dani Ceballos (Spain)
Real Madrid midfielder Ceballos played in this competition two years ago but Spain lost the final 1-0 to Germany and his performances were enough to earn a Bernabeu move.
But Ceballos hasn't been able to hold a regular first-team place at Real and has been linked with Tottenham and West Ham this summer.
This will be the perfect shop window for the 22-year-old and that could prove handy for Real as eye-catching performances would boost his price tag as they spend big this summer.
Dani Ceballos (right) celebrates scoring for Real Madrid – but he's likely to be on the move
Houssem Aouar (France)
We all know that world champions France have an abundance of talent and the likes of Aouar prove there's plenty more to come.
The Lyon midfielder, who turns 21 during the tournament, has enjoyed a fine season with seven goals and 11 assists in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
Man City managed Guardiola described him as' incredible 'when they played Lyon in the Champions League group stage and that's indeed indeed.
Houssem Aouar in action for France's under-21 side against Belgium in a warm-up -up friendly
Robert Skov (Denmark)
Few, if any, players will come into this tournament from the back of such a prolific season as enjoyed by Copenhagen winger Skov.
He scored 32 goals and contributed 10 assists in the Danish Super League and Europe League, enough to see him linked to Premier League clubs Spurs, Watford and Wolves.
One thing to watch out for are Skov's free-kicks – eight of those goals came from the dead ball.
Denmark's Robert Skov enjoyed a highly prolific season for his club Copenhagen
Ianis Hagi ( Romania)
Yes, he is the son of Romanian legend Gheorghe Hagi and it appears the footballing genes have not let the 20-year-old down.
It was Hagi Sr., then manager, who handed him his club debut for Viitorul Constanta aged 16 back in 2014 and he now captains the club in his second spell following a short period at Fiorentina.
He has three senior caps for Romania and wears the family name lightly : "The name Hagi is not a burden, but a huge honor."
Ianis Hagi is the talented son of Romanian legend Gheorghe and has won three senior caps
Jonathan Tah (Germany)
Towering center-half Tah is one of the few 23-year-old taking part in the tournament although it was 21 when the qualifying campaign started.
He has already been capped six times for the German senior side and has almost 200 first-team matches under his belt for Hamburg, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Bayer Leverkusen.
Tah comes into the tournament having just helped Leverkusen into the Champions League and has been linked with several larger clubs around Europe.
Towering center-half Jonathan Tah has been capped six times for the senior German side
Yari Verschaeren (Belgium)
It's unusual to see players as young as 17 at this tournament but Belgium clearly have a lot of faith in Anderlecht playmaker Verschaeren.
An academy graduate at the club, he already plays regularly for the Anderlecht first team yet hasn't been capped for his country's under 21s as yet.
Belgium are in a tricky Group A with Italy, Spain and Poland so Verschaeren may be used to provide some x factor.

Nikola Vlasic (Croatia)
Vlasic will be a familiar name to Everton fans and while it didn't really happen for the Croatian playmaker at Goodison Park, he has done well out on loan at CSKA Moscow.
He scored three goals for CSKA in the Champions League group stage, including their winner against Real Madrid, and also played five times for the senior side.
' He did a great job in Russia and we are possibly looking at one of the key players in Croatia's future, "said national team boss Zlatko Dalic.

The Champions of England
The Champions of England will be crowned this week and none of us know which way the pendulum will swing. Both City and Liverpool have a hand on the trophy but the FA will have to keep both sets of ribbons handy for the post match celebrations. Tyron seems disheartened by the fact that Spurs have made it to a Champions League Final nd doesn’t care about most of the weekend’s fixtures, most likely because there will be no St Totteringham’s Day again.
On the Superbru front Owen, dontikofy and Chappie1 are all still in with a realistic chance of taking top spot, much like the teams, they will need to be on top form this weekend as an exact result could determine the final positions. We holding thumbs for you. Round 37’s YELLOW cap was won by bousqetts with 16.5 points.
Thoughts on Arsenal this season
Tyron
Poor. Emery is unclear on his plans, pushed to sign a player that never played and has hardly improved on Wenger. With no money available its scary to think how bad it could get.
Dirk
In a way there has been progress and a in a lot of ways Europa League could be the seasons savior. It’s a good first season post Wenger but the summer signings now could be telling for what they can truly do next season. Far from title contenders right now that’s for sure and they’ll miss Ramsey more than they realize …
Marcel
Strange season for Arsenal. Emery will need time to get his team in but the home form is promising. Arsenal’s away form is horrendous and yet they are on the cusp of top 4. Still a bit soft mentally but the style is attractive.
Thoughts on Manchester City this season
Tyron
Provided they win the league its been the model of consistency. To finish the year ahead of this Liverpool is sensational.
Dirk
Fantastic season which should be ending with the title and hopefully a treble, would be even better with a Champions League final run but that’s next seasons priority. Pep has grown on an amazing season last season, and we’ve seen Foden really come through as a first team player. Couldn’t be much happier really!
Marcel
Champions in 2018 and probably champions again this season is a good retrun. The league Cup is irrelevant to most and the FA Cup could be a nice finishing touch for City. Champions League failure will again frustrate the owners, especially with two English finalists this season.
Thoughts on Manchester United this season
Tyron
Its been a long, difficult and dark season for United. They will have to join the Thursday football brigade next year which is not likely to excite
Dirk
I think there’s a lot of work to be done for Ole. Time will tell if he’s the right man for the job but there’s a lot of spring cleaning that needs to be done and missing top 4 won’t make that task any easier. For United the season must be disappointing – especially how the season has ended.
Marcel
Too many questions arise after Jose claimed his best ever season was finishing 2nd to City with this squad the previous year. Ole went on a bit of a sweet run but results in the last 10 matches show there are problems bigger than Jose’s sulky face. We need a massive clear-out of dead wood and might struggle to make top 6 next season.
Kompany scores a vital goal
Brighton v Man. City
Tyron
BRI 0 – 2 MCI
Champions and deservingly so
Dirk
BRI 0 – 3 MCI
City to finish the season with aplomb. Good win with a few goals, ideally an Aguero hat trick
Marcel
BRI 1 – 2 MCI
Brighton showed tremendous fight and freedom in their away match at the Emirates. Survival and a final home match thank you to the fans could see them putting up more resistance than a City fan would like.
youtube
Burnley v Arsenal
Tyron
BUR 1 – 0 ARS
Can this season just end already
Dirk
BUR 1 – 2 ARS
Arsenal will want to finish the season as strongly as possible and should against Burnley
Marcel
BUR 0 – 1 ARS
Despite Arsenal’s horrendous recent form (4 points from 18) I think they should see off Burnley on the final day.
Crystal Palace v Bournemouth
Tyron
CRY 2 – 1 BOU
The Eagles to end on a high
Dirk
CRY 1 – 1 BOU
Both teams to score but both should be happy with a draw
Marcel
CRY 1 – 1 BOU
Palace have better results away from home so this clash between two clubs separated by a point could be interesting
Fulham v Newcastle
Tyron
FUL 1 – 1 NEW
Fulham to have a good day, Toon to show why Benitez is the best man for the job
Dirk
FUL 2 – 1 NEW
Fulham have finished the season well and could well win this one
Marcel
FUL 1 – 1 NEW
Newcastle were superb against Liverpool but away from St. James’ they not quite the same
Leicester City v Chelsea
Tyron
LEI 1 – 1 CHE
Who cares
Dirk
LEI 2 – 2 CHE
High scoring draw feels about right
Marcel
LEI 2 – 1 CHE
Chelsea have secured top 4 and with nothing left to play for I expect the rent boys to lay down for Leicester
Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 Liverpool
Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Tyron
LIV 2 – 0 WOL
97 points and finishing second is unreal
Dirk
LIV 2 -1 WOL
Wolves to give Liverpool a fright but think Liverpool will be strong enough to win here
Marcel
LIV 3 – 0 WOL
If Salah had a concussion against Newcastle there’s no way he should play any part but who knows what decisions will be made to get the talisman ready for the game.
Ole looking for all the points they lost since he went permanent
Man. United v Cardiff City
Tyron
MUN 2 – 0 CAR
Snatching 5th from Arsenal is the highlight of the season
Dirk
MUN 2 – 0 CAR
Good bye to Cardiff but United will want to win to break a bad end of season run
Marcel
MUN 2 – 1 CAR
We hope United play Greenwood, Chong and a host of other academy youngsters in an show of force to the under-performing squad.
Highlights of the Huddersfield season include a point at Old Trafford and this photo
Southampton v Huddersfield
Tyron
SOU 1 – 1 HUD
Who cares
Dirk
SOU 2 – 1 HUD
Southampton should win this last home game of the season
Marcel
SOU 1 – 0 HUD
Huddersfield are still crap regardless of taking a point off United in the previous round.
Spurs’; new home ground is a thing of beauty
Tottenham v Everton
Tyron
TOT 2 – 1 EVE
Just to rub salt into wounds
Dirk
TOT 2 – 2 EVE
It feels like an exciting draw with Spurs minds focused on the Champions League final
Marcel
TOT 1 – 2 EVE
Spurs are in a bit of a mess at the moment. Defeats to Ajax, West Ham and Bournemouth don’t bode well for a visit from high flying Everton, despite the fantastic turn around of the Champions League semi.
Watford v West Ham
Tyron
WAT 1 – 1 WHM
Who cares
Dirk
WAT 2 – 1 WHM
Difficult one to call, but think Watford will edge this one at home
Marcel
WAT 0 – 1 WHM
Traditionally the home team dominates this fixture but Watford have a Final to look forward to and might rest some of their stars while West Ham are playing quite well again.

Mourinho makes 9 changes: This is how Man United will lineup against Bristol City tonight
Manchester United face five more fixtures before 2017 is out and with injuries lingering, Wednesday’s (20 December) Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Bristol City a chance for Jose Mourinho to rotate his squad with a trip to Leicester City awaiting them on Saturday evening.
The United boss has never been one to take this competition lightly and with the opportunity to surpass Sir Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough and become its most successful manager with five triumphs a possibility for him this season, his desire to lift the trophy again is likely to be burning brighter than ever.
First-team changes beckon, and the man who played the most decisive role in winning the competition for his side last season in Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be ushered in for his first starting appearance in nine months.
The Swede has made cameos off the bench against Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Watford and Manchester City since that return in November but Wednesday’s trip to Ashton Gate could be the ideal opportunity for him to come back into the starting XI – with Romelu Lukaku looking particularly drained in the final stages of the wins over Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion despite rediscovering his scoring touch.
Ibrahimovic could also renew his dynamic understanding with Paul Pogba on Wednesday. The France international has completed his three-match ban after that red card shown against Arsenal and having only recently returned from a three-month layoff, is surely the freshest man in the squad.
Nemanja Matic has been carrying a knock in United’s last three matches; the Serbia international needs the night off perhaps more urgently than anyone else given his importance to the side. He could also have an able deputy in Scott McTominay who could come into partner Pogba after providing another promising display in the narrow win over the Cherries last week.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been omitted from eight of United’s last nine match day squads – even making the trip to Switzerland for a Champions League tie against Basel before eventually being left out of the 18 a few hours later.
His future at United looks bleak with Borussia Dortmund ready to offer him a route back to Germany; but he could be offered one last chance to save his United career against Lee Johnson’s side, as hinted by Mourinho after the win over West Brom.
It could be at the back where we see the most changes. Chris Smalling has played every minute of United’s Premier League campaign since the game against Crystal Palace in September and while Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones may be fit again, Mourinho may prefer the former Fulham defender’s aerial presence in doing battle with Bristol City’s towering defender Aden Flint, who already has six goals to his name this season.
Rojo has been rested in United’s last two matches but his aggression alongside Smalling could come in handy on what could be a tough evening in Bristol.
Antonio Valencia said he was fine after limping off at the Hawthorns on Sunday but his manager won’t want to take any risks with a player who was otherwise ever-present in his Premier League side this term.
And having recently promised Axel Tuanzebe some game time, Wednesday could be the right opportunity to bring the 20-year-old in on the right, a position he reliably covered for his manager in the past.

How Will Chelsea Cope Without Alvaro Morata and N'Golo Kante? Having replaced the bull with the matador, it was all going pretty well for Chelsea post-Diego Costa, as Alvaro Morata settled seamlesslyinto the pace of the Premier League. Despite a resume that houses trophy-laden stints at both Real Madrid and Juventus, reservations lingered over whether football's best supporting actor could cut it as a leading man. Six goals in as many league starts acted as swift, sharp slap to the chops for those who look upon the Premier League the way a mother does a newborn child. Devotion can be blinding. As it transpires, the goals are the same shape and size over here as they are over there. Morata's strike in Chelsea's immaculate away win at Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League took on even greater symbolism, as Costa sat in the stands with the classic rictus expression of a man who claims he wants his ex-wife to be happy (just not with another man). Think Larry David's incredulity when Ted Danson asks to date Cheryl in the latest series of Curb Your Enthusiasm. With Morata looking like a star, the sight of him hobbling off against Manchester City prior to the international break, clutching his hamstring, was cruel. Spain's medical team said he had suffered a Grade 2 tear (h/t BBC Sport), which could mean as much as an eight-week lay-off. Morata and Chelsea have since intimated the injury is not as serious as first feared, according to Dominic Fifield of the Guardian. though what is not in dispute is just one fit senior striker will be available to Blues boss Antonio Contefor Saturday's game against Crystal Palace. Having scored a goal every 62 minutes for Chelsea across his sparse Premier League and Champions League appearances, it's fair to say Michy Batshuayi etches his name on the scoresheet more often than he does his manager's thoughts. Conte will probably give Stamford the Lion a run sooner than he would the Belgian. Still, he must be sorely tempted to let Batshuayi loose against a Palace side low on confidence. The alternative is letting Eden Hazard meander, which could be what he opts for on Wednesday when Chelsea take on AS Roma. Against Manchester City, when Hazard and Willian shared the burden up top as a composite centre-forward when Morata went off injured, it did not reflect well on the "tired of experts" brigade. False strikers are not always better than real ones. Should Chelsea fail to pick up all three points at Selhurst Park, Conte will remind the press how his board failed to deliver for him over the summer in terms of recruitment before his players have finished in the shower. Rumour has it he still carries a photo of Fernando Llorente in his wallet. A further blow to Chelsea is the indefatigable N'Golo Kante has suffered his first injury since moving to England two-and-a-bit seasons ago. One would have had money on an exploded lung being the reason for his absence. Alas, like Morata, he is more plainly hamstrung by his hamstring. Though unprecedented, it hardly needs great prescience to predict the best player in his position for two seasons running will be sorely missed. Will Spurs Finally Put Talk of a Wembley Curse to Bed? The idea Tottenham Hotspur would win the Premier League if they had to play all their games away from home is decidedly less fanciful than it sounds. Mauricio Pochettino's side travel well but are pallid in comparison when stationed at their temporary Wembley Stadium residence. There has been more than the odd weird weekend under the arch for Spurs. Conversely, they have won all five of their away games this season in all competitions, scoring three or more in four of them. It extends a winning run on their travels to seven games and counting, with a remarkable 27 goals scored and just four conceded. Tottenham kicked off their Wembley campaign with a defeat to Chelsea in their second league game of the season before a 1-1 stalemate against Burnley had talk of a hoodoo resurfacing. A blistering 3-1 Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund in mid-September looked to be the signature performance everyone at the club craved. A 0-0 draw against Swansea City three days later was definitely not. Saturday's game against Bournemouth is, on paper, the proverbial home banker. The past three meetings with the Cherries have seen Spurs rack up 12 goals, with Harry Kane probably quietly confident of nabbing at least half that amount for himself on Saturday. Nine goals in his past five matches (he has 15 for club and country combined already this season) include one at Wembley for England against Slovenia, but he has yet to score in three Premier League games at the national stadium for Spurs this term. Having scored on average a goal every 72 minutes in 2017, it would take a braver person than me, or probably Asmir Begovic, to bet against him doing so again on Saturday. In January last year, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said of his own team's temporary use of Wembley for European fixtures between 1998 and 2000, per James Olley of the Evening Standard: "It was a nightmare. In hindsight, it was the wrong decision. "We decided to go to Wembley, but we didn't feel at home. The pitch was bigger, the ground was different and for the English players it was something completely unusual." Given Spurs' success under Pochettino has largely been built on their ability to press sides into submission, there's little doubt such a huge pitch puts them at a disadvantage. White Hart Lane housed the second-smallest pitch in the Premier League. Wembley represents the second biggest. Nothing seems to stoke the fire under Pochettino more than talk of a hoodoo or that his players are overwhelmed, but the numbers make for grim reading. Since 2007, Tottenham's record in matches played at Wembley reads thus: four wins, three draws and eight defeats. You don't win the Premier League title with a home record like that. Will Romelu LukakuProve His Big-Game Credentials? First comes the disclaimer. Whatever the numbers may suggest, and there will be plenty dissected in due course, the accusation Romelu Lukaku is a flat-track bully is a misnomer. And even if he is, as a goalscorer, it's like trying to hurt a ballet dancer by decrying how light they are on their feet. Last season, disregarding games against the top five, Jose Mourinho's side dropped points against Watford, Stoke City (twice), Burnley, West Ham United, Everton (twice), Hull City, Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion, Swansea City and Southampton. Lukaku scored 10 goals against those clubs. Last season, Bournemouth scored more than United in the league. This term, the Cherries have netted 17 fewer than Mourinho's men in just seven matches. At 24, Lukaku is six goals shy of becoming Belgium's all-time leading goalscorer. He is as close as it gets to a guarantee of goals. The only numbers that will interest Manchester United supporters are gloriously impressive. For club and country this season, the Belgian has scored 16 goals in just 13 appearances, with 11 in 10 his record for United. A man who, at the start of the summer, was seen by many to be a living, breathing embodiment of the game having gone is now a gentle reminder of a quainter time when it was still possible to bag a bargain. Laughter is no longer heard at Mourinho's suggestion United were the early bird that caught the worm. In his first 10 matches for United he has failed to score in just one of them, against Leicester City in a 2-0 win at Old Trafford. A goal against Liverpool on Saturday, as Mourinho takes his side to Anfield for the biggest and most widely anticipated game of the season, would see Lukaku make his own a record he shares with Andy Cole. Both scored seven goals in their first seven league games for the club. It's probably not the record you would necessarily want etched on your gravestone, but it's impressive nonetheless. The five goals Lukaku has scored in 11 previous appearances against Liverpool–encompassing stints at West Bromwich Albion and Everton–hardly screams flat-track bully. Though according to Opta, he has failed to land a shot on target in five of his past seven games against Liverpool. Since making his debut in English football in 2011, Lukaku has scored 115 goals in 194 games. That would be a handy record if he played in a league where there is a bell in the ball. Sergio Aguero remains the only player to have outscored him over the past five years. Still, that 21 of his 25 Premier League goals for Everton last season came against sides occupying the bottom 13 places leads many a pundit to wistfully ponder whether he is a "top, top player." Another piece of evidence often proffered in the case for the prosecution denotes how prior to this season he had scored just 15 goals in 57 matches against the "top six." While it wasunlikely to bea record brought up by his representatives in negotiations with Red Devils executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, thus far in a United shirt he has netted against Everton in the league and Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup. Should it be a surprise his record against those that occupy the top echelons of the Premier League mirrors the respective struggles of West Brom and Everton in these matches? It's disputable whether Kane would have such an enviable tally in comparison had he been at either of the aforementioned clubs rather than Tottenham. There's little doubt Manchester United will drag Lukaku up just as much as he will them. Prior to his £75 million move, he had played for clubs that finished eighth, fifth, 11th, 11th and seventh respectively in the past five Premier League seasons. It's not just Lukaku who has had his credentials questioned against the big boys. On their travels last season, United scored just once against their main rivals, with a 2-1 defeat at Tottenham representing their solitary contribution to the scoresheet. With Liverpool having no alternative way to play other than on the front foot, it should suit United to a T in being able to sit, soak and counter—that's if they can withstand an inevitable early onslaught. A Saturday lunchtime kick-off at Anfield would be the perfect stage for both Lukaku and United to prove they may be bullies, just not of the flat-track variety. Can Everton Ease Pressure on Ronald Koeman? It's all gone a bit quiet on the Ronald Koeman-to-Barcelona front. Despite having spent the summer starring in a £145 million remake of Brewster's Millions Farhad Moshiri's billions, the Dutchman still found time to flex his cherubic dimples in the direction of Catalonia. Should he fail to arrest Everton's slump in the next few weeks, he may find gaining independence on Merseyside is a lot easier than it is in his spiritual home. It wasn't supposed to be like this. Even withstanding Lukaku's departure, hefty investment should have been just the catalyst to build on last season's campaign of no little promise. But the Lukaku cash looks to have facilitated the worst shopping trip since Tottenham spent £110 million on the not-so-magnificent seven (Paulinho, Christian Eriksen—admittedly a magnificent buy at £11.5 million—Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue, Vlad Chiriches and Erik Lamela) to offset Gareth Bale's £85.3 million switch to Real Madrid. Last season, Koeman had a side with personality that lacked a little finesse. This term, hovering above the drop zone with just seven points from as many matches, they have a smidgen more finesse but no personality. That it all looks horribly confused is no surprise given their signings over the summer were clearly far too similar. The club's record signing at £45 million, Gylfi Sigurdsson has yet to record either an assist or goal in the Premier League. In no small part it is down to his shunting out wider than he likes, just as he was during his time at Tottenham. With Rooney anointedas Koeman's chugger creator-in-chief,Sigurdsson is neat and peripheral.Davy Klaassen is just peripheral. In assembling a new band Koeman has signed three lead guitarists and not bothered with a frontman. It might well cost him his job. Finding a regular goalscorer is probably the hardest thing to do in the Premier League. Punting on Sandro Ramirez and Nikola Vlasic being adequate replacements for Lukaku is like losing a Michelin-starred chef and blindly hoping the guy from the chippy and lass with the kebab shop will be able to make the step up in class. They have managed a solitary goal between them. Oumar Niasse is the club's joint-leading goalscorer, with three, having been found down the back of the sofa when Koeman was searching for his reputation. In seven league games, they have managed just four goals. Koeman, in fairness, will point to the cruelest of fixture lists having pitted them against Manchester City, Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea already. Disregarding for a minute how this is still a side in the early stages of transition, these are the type of teams Everton anticipated they would be able to compete with by spending handsomely. At the minute, they are as close to the big boys as they are the moon. At the back they are not much cop, either, despite having spent over £50 million on Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane. Only Crystal Palace and West Ham United have conceded more than the 12 Everton have shipped. Next up in the league are away days in Brighton and Leicester City, with a home date with Arsenal sandwiched between. At the end of that lot, maybe even before, Koeman and Everton supporters should have a better understanding of what kind of owner Mr Moshiri intends to be. Can Anyone Slow the Manchester City Juggernaut? Since the final month of last season, Manchester City have won 13 of 14 matches, with an aggregate score of 45-5. To date this term, they have scored more goals than any of their Premier League rivals and conceded the joint-fewest. A defence so porous every colander in the business bid to be their sleeve sponsor over the summer has kept four consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time since September 2015. That City have enjoyed the most possession (63.8 per cent)and have the best pass accuracy (88.6 per cent) is no surprise, but for a Pep Guardiola team to have won the most aerial duels shows perhaps he is adapting to English football just as English football is adapting to him. In Europe, they have been no less impressive. Feyenoord and Shakhtar Donetsk have been brushed aside, with City scoring six without reply. The most ruthless performance of the season saw City vanquish Liverpool 5-0; the most measured resulted in a 1-0 win at Chelsea prior to the international break. None of Benjamin Mendy, Vincent Kompany or Sergio Aguero were fit for the game at Stamford Bridge. None of them were needed. Ominously for the chasing pack, City's eight league fixtures between now and the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on December 9 sees them play only Arsenal (at home) of last season's top seven. City went to Chelsea as the first top-flight side since 1958-59 to win three successive games by five goals or more. On Saturday, they chase another record as Stoke City head to the Etihad Stadium looking to avoid becoming the third successive side to leave Manchester with only a 5-0 defeat to show for their efforts. Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea in 2010 were the only other Premier League side to achieve three successive home wins by at least five goals (winning 8-0, 6-0 and 6-0 across two seasons). Guardiola will be mindful not to take too many chances with his lineup, even taking into account a delicious looking dinner date with Napoli on Tuesday. Are there two more easy-on-the-eye sides in Europe? Stoke boss Mark Hughes' record at the Etihad against the club he managed between 2008 and 2009 is quietly impressive. The Welshman was the architect of a 1-0 win there for Stoke back in 2014, and while they were thumped 4-0 the following year, last season saw his side execute a fine defensive display to grind out a goalless draw. It is far from impossible Hughes will prove the measure of Guardiola again on Saturday. For betting purposes, however, it would be remiss not to advise the Welshman will in all likelihood end up behaving exactly like the gentleman below (Warning: Clip contains NSFW language). Working out how to stop this Manchester City side in full bloom is not for the easily frustrated. All stats worked out via WhoScored.com unless otherwise stated.
