Under the red hood alternative story where Jason doesn’t go the drug lord “choose me or him” route and instead hatches a plan to make Bruce love him ‘again’ and get attached to him and then he lets himself get killed again cause CLEARLY Bruce didn’t mourn him enough the first time. It totally makes sense.

Jason, while hugging Bruce after the DNA test came back positive, grinning evilly behind his back: hahahahaha yeah this’ll fucking show him!

Except. He miscalculated. Severely. Suddenly the thought of dying is a terrifying one because his life has never been this peaceful. Bruce helped him finish his school education and convinced him to enrol into university, even helped him take over crime alley’s underground in the meantime.

Jason, while spending time with Bruce, not fighting and just existing peacefully in each other’s company, realising that he doesn’t really fancy dying anymore and his plan is effectively Ruined: fuck.

Through a series of miscommunication, the League is now under the impression that Batman, strange cryptid that he is, may or may not have given birth to the other vigilantes running around in Gotham. This was not helped by Bruce referring to all of his children, no matter how big they get, as his babies. Nor was it helped by Red Robin, in the middle of a narcolepsy-fueled imminent crash, mentioned how he had no mother.

It also doesn’t help that no one is aware that they are in fact completely normal people, and not aspects of Gotham itself brought to life. Though really that’s on the bats themselves, because at this point they should at least count as undead.

Actually the way Umemiya smiled at Sakura is SO. The last few chapters with Takiishi we didn't see any indication Umemiya could pay attention to anything outside his fight. It's highly likely that Sakura's wake-up call was the first time Umemiya's come to since Endo gave Tsubakino and gang a good thrashing downstairs.

Which is to say, Sakura being there, bloodied and bruised but smiling, telegraphs to Umemiya: the town is safe. You trusted us to protect the town, and we did, so now all that's left for you to do is win. Don't hold anything back.

That's not even getting to how Sakura saying his words back to him is the ultimate relay. Sakura listened to Umemiya every single time he's passed on his wisdom: that fighting is a way they can communicate with others, that they come from similar pasts, that they can't lose; they have to keep getting back up because that's what it means to bet everything on the line. Sakura already internalised his words to such a degree that it's what drove him to win against Endo.

It wasn't easy for Sakura to shoulder that either; he even said it was heavy. But he still carried his will despite that… I can't imagine how reassuring that must be for big brother Umemiya 😭
