What are you the most hyped for while waiting to watch the RWBY Vol. 7 trailer? Some Oscar-worthy performances?

Hmm that’s a good question anon-chan. But you did hit the nail on the head with one of the things I’m anticipating for V7. With the mention made by Kerry Shawcross about Oscar possibly receiving development next season, I’m hoping that that’s a promise that gets lived up to this time for V7. Apart from that, I guess what I’m excited to see is if the trailer will tease any progress with Oscar’s relationships with Ruby, the members of Team JNR, Ozpin and Ironwood respectively.

I’ve been speculating for months that V7 might spark closer, more intimate interactions between our two smaller, more honest rosebuds as Ibelieve Ruby will become Oscar’s closest, most trusted confidant; similar to how Dorothy Gale was the best friend and closest confidant to Princess Ozma from the Wizard of Oz;  as well as his possible love interest if romance is in the cards for him and Ruby—y’know giving the ole drawinginspiration from the Little Prince whose true love was a rose.  

So I wonder if the trailer might indicate a future scene to that. Likemaybe a voiceover or shot of Oscar becoming emotionally distraught and crying following a meltdown, to which Ruby is then seen being there to offer him her hand again in support or maybe even give a hug of comfort. 

Last time for the V6 trailer, they didn’t shy away from hinting the parts where Oscar struggled to restrain Ozpin or Ozpin as Oscar screaming ‘NO!’ So I’m expecting another incident like that for the V7 trailer but we’ll see I guess.

Another thing I’m anticipating for V7 is seeing Oscar growclose to Jaune, Nora and Ren. I have not given up on my Pinehead headcanon of Oscar ultimately being asked by Jaune to join him, Ren and Nora in reforming Team JNPR. I still want this to happen and I still think it’s a strong possibility for V7 given the unsubtle hints back in V6.

While I have not the slightest clue what the CRWBY Writers have plannedfor Oscar this round, I hope they can at least show him growing closer to JNR, particularly Ren this time around.

It’d be interesting if for this season, Oscar is shown bonding closer to Ren. As a matter of fact, what would be truly cool is if at some point during V7, JNR starts to fall apart due to issues brought about by Nora’s development that’s been hinted to be coming for V7.

Here’s what I’m thinking: My theory is that Nora’s story will involve herreuniting with her family in Mantle and being forced to chose between stayingwith her real family or continuing forward with Jaune and Ren who have been her surrogate family for longer than her actual family—particularly Ren.

My hunch is that when Nora was a little girl, unknown to her, her parents sold her off to some human traffickers from Mistral for money and/or supplies to help them service the winters of Solitas. 

As proclaimed in the World of Remnant episode on Mantle, the people ofMantle have been slowly suffering over the years with what can only be presumed as little aid from Atlas. So I wouldn’t be shocked if the Mantlese had to resort to drastic measures as a means of getting by.

I always pegged Nora to have been a victim of child abduction or childslavery or child trafficking since it was mentioned back in V4, during the Kunoyuri backstory episode that her clothing appeared outlandish to the people of Kunoyuri in Anima. I remember the little boys who teased and taunted Nora for stealing the bread to survive commenting about her attire being unusual for that part of Anima giving the allusion that Nora was not from Mistral or any part of Anima.

In the beginning, I figured Nora was possibly trafficked from Vacuo since the casual wear she wore as a kid reminded me a lot of Vacuo’s fashion. But it seems like she might end up having ties to Mantle. At least, that’s my assumption.

I don’t know if human trafficking exists in Remnant. I know that Faunusabuse and/or slavery and the trafficking of dust and weaponry is often hintedat in the show. But what of people? Imagine if the People of Mantle were forced to give up their children to be shipped out to become child slaves in other kindgoms in exchange for money for the sake of surviving. So far, current Mantle is the only culture we know little about.

The closest thing to know about Mantle is that during the period prior to theGreat War, when Mantle was still the main kingdom in Solitas, Mantle andMistral formed a partnership as a means of exchanging goods and services which led to the creation of Argus.

But if my memory also served correctly, I remember World of Remnantmention Mantle introducing a law that abolished all form of arts and creativeexpression in Mantle which it then extended to Mistral but Mistral only implemented it in its outer territories.

However, this all happened in the past. I don’t know what has become ofMantle now other than it being a completely abandoned kingdom, even by the very kingdom it spawned—Atlas.

 I guess if anything, the trailers will show us more about Mantle. It’sjust that in terms of Mantle, I feel like Nora will have a connection to thatkingdom and it will involve her past with her family. And it will lead to herbeing forced to choose between returning home to her parents or staying withher boys. And my theory is that during this tension with the JNR group, Oscarwill kind of become like this pintsized tube of glue that aids in helping tokeep the trio together.

I really feel like V7 will be the season that solidifies Oscar as themissing piece to make JNR whole again. At least, that’s what I’m hoping for. I hope that is part of his story for V7. But…as always, it’s up to the real writers of show.

Another thing I want the V7 to tease is whether or not we’ll be gettingany new Marvelous Land of Oz-inspired characters to show up in Atlas. While many fans are hoping for a potential tease of Penny returning for the Atlas Arc,this squiggle meister is more hoping for another new robot character. 

I am STILL gunning for my robot Jack Pumpkinhead. If I see one robotcharacter portrayed in the trailer who isn’t Penny then I’m going to lose myshit.

Of all the characters from Marvelous Land of Oz I want to see rebornin RWBY, it’s definitely Jack Pumpkinhead. 

Please let there be a Jack Pumpkinhead character coming soon to RWBY V7 in Atlas and please let him be a sentient robot that Oscar ends up befriending and treating like his surrogate child (because technically Pumpkinhead was made by Tip and Pumpkinhead used to call Tip ‘father’ and eventually ‘mother’ after he was revealed to PrincessOzma) when he awakens his talent as a mechanical engineer to fix said robot.

Ya’ll don’t understand how much I want this guy to show up. I got my flying monkey Grimm, where’ s my robo-Pumpkinhead for Oscar Pine!

But it’s whether or not the CRWBY will actually include him at all. Other than that, that’s pretty much all I can say for now. I don’t honestly expect the V7 toreveal a lot about the upcoming season since that’s how it was for V6 and theseasons before that. But if the trailers are to give us something, I hope itdrops some hints of what’s to come for Oscar’s story and the reveal of any newMarvelous Land of Oz characters to join as part of his story.
