I laughed at the threatening Tweet telling me “Your dead” and mockingly replied “My dead what?”.
I realised that their grammar was actually correct when they tweeted back a photo—of my dead family.

Fey: May I have your name?
Me: You can't "have" my name but I can tell you it.
Fey: I uh....*sighs in defeat* Nevermind.

Anachronisms in modern media
Just listened to an otherwise really good podcast (Bridgewater, if you're interested) that had a glaring (for me) anachronism: a character from the 1980s says "based off of."
Nobody from the 80s would have said that, and not just because it's a fucking stupid turn of phrase that some dumb teenager in 1992 made up. It's because nobody said that in the 80s. Based on. That's the closest thing a person in the 80s would have said

VISCOUS - THICK LIQUID THAT YOU CAN'T POUR QUICKLY
VICIOUS - SPITEFUL, MALICIOUS, SAVAGE, FEROCIOUS
SO IF YOU TALK ABOUT SOMEONE'S "VISCOUS SMILE" I'M GOING TO BE PICTURING THE HORRIFYING SPECTACLE OF SOMEONE'S MOUTH TURNING TO A GOOPY SYRUP THAT SLOWLY DRIPS OFF THEIR FACE
THANKS FOR THE NIGHTMARES
IT’S NOT ‘PEEKED’ MY INTEREST
OR ‘PEAKED’
BUT PIQUED
‘PIQUED MY INTEREST’
THIS HAS BEEN A CAPSLOCK PSA

I am convinced that young millennials and Gen z only look for the red underline as a grammar check and that’s why they think they’re apart of something instead of actually being a part of something.
