My first attempts at making something of leather. Far from perfect and simple, but this is my first such work and I'm super content.

These four are going to be small gifts for my grandmas and for two people closest to grandfathers I have.

Quick project

Used some scraps & a Midsummer Scream lanyard to make a hanging glasses case. I ran into a few issues - aka user errors - and as always my topstitching leaves much to be desired. Despite all that, I really like how it turned out. The lining is a much deeper purple in real life than it appears in the video/picture. Free pattern by Christine's Home Affairs on YouTube.

I did do a few changes from the original pattern:

Cut the outer fabric at 9" x 9" & quilted it to the interfacing, then trimmed it down to the required 8" x 8"

Moved the curved edge so it's on my right when I'm wearing it

Used a d-ring instead of a lobster claw since we've already got handfuls of lanyards with clasps attached from years of going to conventions

Bought this at West Ed today when I was out with my sister, as well as a Hufflepuff lanyard for my keys. It was a fun day of walking through the mall, buying stuff, looking at stuff and taking pictures of each other and having lunch. I bought a journal today as well as some other books. The journal was the main reason we were even going to the mall today.

Narilamb dancing doodles I made on art streams this last week, mainly trying to get the motion in mind for the Anchordeep Ballroom scene (its a lot easier writing motion and movement when you have a visual reference)

Also ngl I keep listening to 'Forbidden Friendship' from HTTYD for this scene because the build up from ' mock dance invitation' to 'timidly testing the waters' to 'actually having tons of fun dancing' to 'climatic pause after the dip + tension' fits REALLY well

Ya Girl Went to the Emmys

I had a fun time, it was nice to meet cool people and shake their hands and serve a mother slay, etc - AND it was very cool that my cousin Will won for Slow Horses, so proud - BUT

as fun as it was, I know when the chips are down none of the people I met last night (except Dave) are gonna be there for me. They don't know me, even the ones who recognised me and said they follow my work, and that's okay! The people who are really gonna be there for me are my audience. Some of you have been watching since the bookshelf days and even earlier. Now I'm on the red carpet at the Emmys and that's cool, but I know who put me here. You. Especially you, tumblr fanbase. (Best fanbase.)

So here's to many more glitzy events and slay fits, but I hope I always remember where I started and who got me where I am today
