Mia and Me season 4 spoilers below!!

I find very interesting how in season 3, when she stood in front of the golden crystals that show your biggest wish, Gargona saw this

And while it makes perfect sense for her to wish to rule over a conquered Centopia, for some reason she looks sad (probably because she knows the bug dudes would never pay her that much respect)

So what did she want? Power and recognition.

In season 4 we get another chance to see if Gargona’s wishing for something else, and oh my what do we have here

Not only she looks like she’s having a good laugh, she’s also in good company! And her reaction is rather suprised but positive:

“Oh. That’s... unexpected, and yet...”

While in season 3′s reflection she was at the top and everyone else was her subject, now she is sitting on the same seat with Polytheus, they are at the same level: they’re peers. Gargona now wants companionship! And we already know Polytheus is a lonely guy even if he tries not to show it (he’s not very good at it)

Mark my words: these two will become roomates and business partrners by the end of the season and I’ll be very happy for them

I just finished watching Wednesday. And I'm not okay

LITERALLY ALL THE CHARACTERS WHICH I CONSIDERED THE MOST ADEQUATE AND I LOVE TURNED OUT CRAZY. WHY ARE YOU DO THIS WITH ME

I seriously really liked that plant teacher (It takes me a long time to remember the name ) .. I like people like her AND SHE LITERALLY turned out to be the MAIN BITCH

Aaaaaand i in love with Bianca.. and i kin Wednesday too much

in the middle, the whole cringe seems to be moving away, and the last episode for me is generally a masterpiece

Like. Seriously, the characters, locations, and backstories of the Addams had SO POTENTIAL. And the terrible presentation ruined everything. All events are moving very quickly, and I can’t even believe that Enid and Wednesday managed to make friends in such a short time. Each episode, although stuffed with an investigation, loads not the viewer, but the characters themselves. Literally every grove, when the Sheriff wanted to take a break from other cases, Wednesday interfered with him.

Evil powerful lesbians!

So, I watched this show for kids, "Mia and me", because someone on Watty kept making jokes about it and wow... I love the villains. That evil queen (Panthea) and her general (Gargona) have such an awsome dynamic. The perfect mixture of powerabuse, arguing like an old married couple and glimpses of real admiration and care (like the fact that Panthea only takes her mask off in front of Gargona) (and that scene, where they litteraly ride on the same dragon, like some teen couple on a motorbike). It is a trope I love for villains *cough-Angbang-cough*. I soooo ship those dramatic evil girls!!!

I see them like:

Gargona: When you said 'Magic in Bed', I wasn't expecting this... Panthea: *weird glowing dark ritual, killing all plants in a 10 mile radius* Gargona, blushing: Oh wow-

Or:

Panthea: There's no way she likes me back. Rendom servant: General Gargona would throw herself of the tower for you, my queen. Panthea: Gargona would throw herself of the tower out of pure foolishness.

(So as long as I don´t get Angbang interaction in canon I´m just imagining Melkor and Mairon as them :) )

Strange Magic Verse: April

Beyond the fairy meadow, beyond the dark forest, lies a barren land where seemingly nothing can survive. In the thick fog and toxic mist the only things that manage to grow are just as poisonous and threatening. And in the tallest cavern on top the highest point of the rocky land is a being named Panthea who has no interest in the politics and games of the creatures down below. Her only interest lies in the mirror. But, age catches up with everyone eventually, and beauty is only skin deep. So, the great Panthea has devised a strategy to regain what she has lost: Magic. Something that the barren lands lack; but the meadow and forest have tenfold.

And so, she sent her greatest advisor, her general Gargona to go scope out the lands. What Panthea didn't expect was for Gargona to bring back one of those disgusting creatures; wings like a butterfly, and skin far too…pale. Hideous. Panthea spent no time in removing the creature; wings crushed into a fine powder that she inhaled. Turns out, those things--(fairies they call themselves, how pitiful. They cannot match the beauty of a true fairy)--are full of magic. This magic managed to return her youthful beauty.

It seems, however, Gargona was susceptible to the magical charms of the hideous creature; and soon gave birth to something that was…not quite one or the other.

It's been quite some time since then; and many other creatures from both the meadow and forest have gone missing over the years; caught and crushed for the great Panthea's selfish desires. Her army is being ravaged by starvation, and the barren lands are becoming more harsh every day.

However, amongst the suffering, and the toxicity; one can find the General's daughter often sneaking off. It seems she's befriending the creatures of the other lands. Ladybugs, spiders, beetles, mushrooms, mice, and a few goblins have crossed her path. Each one leaving her company with a few more goodies, and feeling a little better than before. Because even for a dark fae, it seems like Lieutenant Apragona doesn't have the heart of one.

Then came Panthea's newest order: "bring me the wings of the Fairy Princesses". And then after a moment of laughter, the masked figure leaned into Apragona, and the bloodlust turned into something darker; "And since you like visiting the forest so much…Bring me the wings of the Bog King. Certainly, this isn't too difficult for my Lieutenant; is it?"

"No, my queen." Yet, even after all this time; Apragona has yet to return with the wings.

In fact, the mushrooms seem to be far more alert than usual, whispering about the wingless fairy that has been telling them of intruders, and planting traps around the perimeter of the forest.

I agree with your points here! I think their heart was in the right place while writing Sara's arc, the execution was just a bit confusing in some parts, but overall I'm glad they tried because she is a very likeable character and one of Mia's most memorable human friends imo u.u

"Let her go back to Dystopia and just live her life" Yes!!! Thank you!! I wanted her so much to leave with Dax at the end of the season and let them have a good silly time going back home but nooo we gotta keep her stuck here for the third time :/ heck I even made an animatic for it 😂 And Dax honestly looked like he genuinely vibed well with her for once, unlike some dude *cough*Rixel*cough*

I think giving her a little subplot in the movie where she finally leaves would be perfect, since according to the synopsis the gang will travel outside Centopia 🤔

i liked dax more than i expected. he was a funny guy. i am getting just about tired of gargona. let her go back to dystopia and just live her life for christ’s sake. has she not suffered enough

i know ive said it before but the sound design and voice acting is truly atrocious. it wasn’t good beforehand but it’s like 10x worse this season. that’s not the most important thing in the world to me but it’s worth mentioning. the personality in the voice acting just isn’t there anymore. there’s no pizazz

the threat actually felt real this season, unlike s2. in s2 i was just like oh yeah this clown and his traveling circus is trying to just be annoying again. this time i was like oh there’s consequences.

how do they always get the most beautiful shooting locations imaginable for the live action parts??? seriously they never disappoint. i want to live in the live action parts of this show

mo and yuko’s characters felt off. yuko felt too soft and mo felt too irresponsible. obviously they’re kids and he’s having to deal with being the king in his father’s absence, but it just doesn’t feel in-character for him to be brushing all this stuff off. i think it’d be more in character for him to double-down on seriousness and have THAT be the problem instead. and yuko just doesn’t feel as mean anymore :( make her mean again

kyara was kind of annoying sorry to this unicorn. i know that’s how onchao was when he was first introduced but he was annoying then too.

sara was really cool!! i liked her a lot! really good character arc

however this season was sooo weird with the way they handled disability as a topic in general. sara is blind and also evidently agoraphobic after an accident she went thru and her arc is about working up the courage to go back to school and be among people. she gets angry when people infantilize her for being blind, and her anxiety issues wrt being around people are honestly realistic.

and then?? they just make her able to see when she’s in centopia??? it doesn’t Cure her blindness like i thought they might do, but she can see while she’s there. which is really shitty bc its like “disability doesn’t exist in this magical fairy land”

but then they also had a butterfly in one episode with a disabled wing, where they were just like “this butterfly just needs special help to fly and that’s okay” which is a good lesson

also they had sara react negatively to the word “disabled” which like. idk that might be realistic esp since she’s a kid? like i totally get it. but we shouldn’t be teaching kids that disabled is a bad word u know? it wasn’t expanded upon.

anyway it was the worst season so far but i still enjoyed it and im glad i finally watched it. some weird social commentary w the live action segments and some bad writing of already-established characters but good centopia plot and lots of cute moments
