Solas and Numbers 23:23
This is another old "essay" I wrote last year after completing Inquisition and Trespasser for the first time.
The Well of Sorrows quest is called “What Pride had Wrought,” and this title is a direct reference to a biblical passage that serves as foreshadowing for Trespasser, and possibly Dreadwolf. We’re told at least once in the game that Solas means “Pride.” The Nightmare demon in the raw fade says, "Dirth ma, harellan. Ma banal enasalin. Mar solas ena mar din." (I know you, trickster. That was no victory. Your pride will be your death.)
The phrase “what pride had wrought” means “what pride had done/caused.” What has Solas done regarding the Temple of Mythal, Mythal herself, or the Well of Sorrows? This could foreshadow Solas revealing himself as Fen'Harel later on in the game. It won't be the first time the devs hid meaning in a quest title - famously, Solas's personal quest, "All New Faded for Her" is an anagram of "Dread Wolf Fen'Harel." Not a stretch to say something similar is happening with this title.
The quest title got even more interesting when I realized that the phrase “What Pride had Wrought” originates from a biblical passage, Numbers 23:23 -
"Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!"
Matthew Henry, a 17th century British minister famous for his commentary and exposition of the bible, says that this passage means:
“Men change their minds, and break their words; but God never changes his mind, and therefore never recalls his promise. And when in Scripture he is said to repent, it does not mean any change of his mind; but only a change of his way.”
God in this context is sounding a little like someone else we know, right? If we substitute Solas (Pride) for God, as the writers have done with the quest title, Henry’s interpretation still rings true. Solas refuses to change his mind or break the promise he made to himself to restore the world to the state before the fall of Arlathan. This could be seen as foreshadowing for Solas revealing himself as Fen'harel and committing to tear down the veil in Trespasser.
The second part, “when… he is said to repent, it does not mean any change of his mind, it is only a change of his way” is very interesting to me. If we’re buying my argument that you can sub Solas for God here, it could imply an allyship with Solas in Dreadwolf - that he can repent without changing his mind about what needs to be done, but he’ll change his actions in a way that could help the protagonist? Idk.
The second part also has implications about his relationship with Lavellan. He has not changed his mind about Lavellan, but he has changed his way - instead of continuing the path of a relationship with her, he changes back to the solitary path of Din'Anshiral.
Solas’ fatal flaw, Pride, causes him to behave like God, namely that Solas makes sweeping, unilateral decisions about the fate of the world. He has no right to do that, because as he says many times, he is no god. Ironically, Solas despises the fact that the other elven mages pretend to be gods, or endeavor to behave like God. However, in single-handedly making decisions on behalf of basically all living beings, Solas is acting as a god, as much as he says he believes he is not one. And those actions result in destroying his world and everything he loves. And he’s ready to do the same damn thing all over again in an attempt to “fix” how badly he messed up the first time!
So is the quest title, “What Pride had Wrought” merely foreshadowing (foreshadowing our discovery of everything Solas has done, and what he decides to do) or does it mean that even though Solas has committed to this path, he may repent later? Or that he still holds the torch for a romanced Lavellan? I can't wait to find out!

Longchenpa's Advice
"You are going to laugh on the day of awakening, so you might as well laugh now.
Since everything is but an apparition, having nothing to do with good or bad, acceptance or rejection.
The pathless path is the path always under our feet and since that path is always beneath us, if we miss it, how stupid!
Remaining supple with your attitude in all areas of your life will transform your karma, your path and your life.
We should cast aside all childish games that fetter and exhaust body, speech and mind; and stretching out in inconceivable non-action, in the unstructured matrix, the actuality of emptiness, where the natural perfection of reality lies, we should gaze at th.
A mandala is...
An integrated structure organized around a unifying center.
If you amass a multitude of profound texts, such as scriptures, commentaries and oral instructions, and you don't practice them, they will be of no benefit at the time of death.
'To watch your mind' is my heart advice.
The radiances of primordial awareness manifesting infinite forms and infinite presences...infinite singularities. This radiance, which is compassion, begins as an unimpeded rainbow of pure light flowing forth from the ground and arising within the ground as the elements. It flows too as the dimension of archetypical forms and as the dimensions of us...this world among other worlds.”
PURE PERCEPTION AND DEVOTION
Respect and develop pure perception and devotion toward
Those who are practicing Dharma as the noble sangha.
If you see faults in others, think that they're the reflections of your own delusions.
If you see good qualities in others, meditate on rejoicing over them.
Disclose and expel your own faults.
Generate virtuous qualities and act with astonishing perseverance.
Be with holy people and abandon evil friends.
Stay in solitary places and promise to pursue meditation.
Make sure that whatever you do is consonant with Dharma practice.
You engage in discussions, defending your views and refuting others'
Thinking that you are clarifying the teachings.
But this just gives rise to emotional posturing.
Keep quiet - that's my sincere advice.

In the midst of this crazy, ever changing world, is peace ruling your heart?
If not, know that God has called you to peace. It’s His will for your life.
So if you’re not experiencing it and you would like to live in peace, how can you foster it in your life?
To begin with, look at where you are seeking wisdom. James 2:17 describes how “the wisdom that comes from Heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
If the information you’re taking in on a regular basis is not lining up with godly wisdom, it’s time for an evaluation of your sources. You can start this process by reviewing the activities you’re involved with including the games you’re playing, films you’re watching, books and commentary you’re reading, and music and speakers you’re listening to on a regular basis.
Next, take stock of the effects your choices are having in your attitudes, outlooks, and behaviors towards yourself and others.
Ask yourself how they are influencing your life with questions such as are you mirroring their philosophies and behaviors? Are these influences greatly shaping how you view the world? Have you adopted a line from a movie or book as your life saying rather than what God says about you?
If you find the answers to your questions are revealing the root of your lack of peace, look to Scripture to help you find your way to the only one true source of peace in this world.
As Isaiah 9:6 explains, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. So if you’re looking to the world as your source, you’ll not ever find it.
In His own words Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).
If you are truly looking for peace, you’ll look to make some changes in your life such as looking to God’s Word as your source of comfort, wisdom, and encouragement rather than what the culture is offering you.
Perhaps you feel giving up things you enjoy sounds too difficult? Hebrews 12:11 explains how “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
By turning towards God as your source of peace, you can be confident you’ll find it.

Russia and Mexico to Receive US Land?
Shortly after US President Joe Biden told Ukraine it could use certain long-range weapons to attack inside of Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested that two can play at that game. He said that the Kremlin would consider putting ICBMs and/or other missiles in nations that are hostile to the USA. Kremlin television showed Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Mexico, and pointed to damage coming to places like Alaska. Russians have long suggested that Mexico could/should get back lands from Texas to California that the US gained at the point of a gun. Many Russians consider that Alaska should again be part of Russia. Did the Germans propose giving Mexico lands from the US during World War 1? Are there scriptures that point to the strongest fortresses of the US being conquered and having its lands divided by the European King of the North Beast power? Did Russian Igor Panarin point to the US breaking up in many pieces with Mexico getting the land back (that some Mexicans have called the 'reconquista'), China or Japan getting Hawaii, Russia regaining Alaska, and Europe ending up with other parts of the US? Might Russia and Mexico one day cooperate when Europe wants to take over the US? Might Russia end up with at least parts of Alaska and possibly parts of Canada? Steve Dupuie and Dr. Thiel cover these matters.
A written article of related interest, and with more details, is also available titled 'Newsweek: Moscow Could Deploy ICBMs in Mexico; COGwriter: Might Mexico and Russia get lands back from the USA?'

COMMENTARY:
Derek, where did you leave to? You say you left Christianity, but you are still flogging the same Evangelical dollar of Campus Crusade for Christ and all things Pro-Life Christian Nationalism, You are a different side of the same Marxist dialectic, It has to do with the Post Modern Historic Deconstruction you believe is a superior method of inquiry than Hegel's Historic Gestalt, I mean, it's the difference between what you need to be able to do to win at Call of Duty and what they teach you in the Army Ranger School. All you podcast contrarians and Jesus Freaks, you devolve the literature of the bible to a video game based on some double bind that is necessary to take Pro=Life women seriously, A problem is that you guys believe, in your heart of hearts that problems like Gaza and Ukraine and the Korean DMZ can just be turned on and off like the apps on your iPhone,
Abram was a Pagan God Fearer like Cornelius was before he met Jesus,
As I mentioned previously, I don't do any original scholarship, My method is based on the axiom that the Gospels can shed a great deal of light on the commentaries. Rec, Dr, Frank Wade, National Cathedral, said that was advice he was given in Seminary he always found reliable.
So, I listen to shows like yours to pick up the scholarship I can't do any more, Fore example, you had Paul Davidson on talking about Melchizedek and he provided me the evidence of Yaweh, Queen of Battle, fighting along side Abram in Genesis 14, Also, he is correct about the tithing: I;ve heard it explained by all the Prosperity Gospel Preachers that it went to Melchizedek, but was was aalways incongruous to me, intuitively, The Bread and wine makes perfect sense, The tithe to Melchizedek, not so much, This ties in perfectly with the tithe of the Maji in Matthew, whether Dom Crossan likes it or not, the nativity narrative in Matthew is reliable, It only seems to clash with the other narratives. They represent gaps Quelle couldn't capture, like the career of Paul described in Acts, Anyway, Davidson's scholarship around Genesis 14 and Genesis 15 reveals Yaweh, Queen of Battle, Goddess of Decision, in legend and that's close enough for government work for me to complete the Hellenistic ontology of the Bible, The only thing missing in the scriptures before Jesus was Jesus to complete the ontology, Tertullian presented the incomplete ontology with his epiphany regarding the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Elohim the verb is presented in Genesis 1:1 and Elohim the demi urge , the Spirit of God which still hovers over the waters, and caused the clouds to clear at Niagara Falls this afternoon during the Total Eclipse is presented in Genesis 1:2.
And The Satan is presented in the Book of Job, All these are identifiable as Jungian Archetypes and available for fun and profit or in the line of Duty, That's what both the Jesus Seminar and Campus Crusade for Christ is missing with your asshole legalistic solo scriptura and mechanistic Marxist dialectic.
So, if you are leaving Christianity, how do you leave all that shit behind? You can't, That's why Bart Ehrman's apostasy or born again is a fraud, Dracula is an example of Fascist sophistry in literature: he can only happen on paper. Like John Galt. Ayn Rand lost track of John Galt's actual status, humanity wise, Inher own Metaphysics, John galt had achieved metaphysical existence in her mind and an apparently compelling literary figure in the minds of millions of Objectivists and anti-DEI executives. But, in the final analysis, John Galt and Dracula hung out with the Wereworlves of London and Roland, the Headless Thompson Gunner.
Who you gonna call, Derek? Ghostbusters? , I mean, leaving Christianity: wasn't that a John Denver song Mary Travers' covered, back in the day, It was a favorite with officers in Vietnam.

"Lawful and Unlawful Foods." From Surah 5: Al Ma'idah, "The Table Setting."
Tumblr media
5:3:
Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah, and [those animals] killed by strangling or by a violent blow or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns, and those from which a wild animal has eaten, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death], and those which are sacrificed on stone altars, and [prohibited is] that you seek decision through divining arrows. That is grave disobedience.
This day those who disbelieve have despaired of [defeating] your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Thanks to the Juice, eating in the Middle East has always been second best to not eating. How we take eating for granted!
Fear not the above section does not pertain to food at all, but how we spend our time.
Dead animals: time wasters. Dead flesh belongs to people that have no direction in life or intelligence.
Blood: do not sacrifice time for anything that does not yield happiness.
Swine: you feed a pig you don't eat one. Do not feed the pigs.
Do not strangle, brain, push, or gore a wild animal: other people, especially young persons have feelings too. Religion must not be used to bruise the feelings or confidence of a young person, or even an adult. Eventually people grow up and figure things out, being rude, mean, or impatient does not help.
Do not eat an animal that has been the victim of a stone sacrifice: Do not get into a relationship with someone that is a hypocrite or sleeps around too much.
Do not use divining arrows: do not follow relgious persons that do not follow their consciences and take risk.
Otherwise, you can eat what you want.
5:4-5 What is Lawful.
They ask you, [O Muhammad], what has been made lawful for them. Say, "Lawful for you are [all] good foods and [game caught by] what you have trained of hunting animals which you train as Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah upon it, and fear Allah ." Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.
Commentary:
This is the first mention in the Qu’ran of what refers to Halal and Haram- the types of meat that can consumed and how it must be prepared.
Allah is not trying to be strict, even He admits this, but consistent with the overarching themes in His Recitation, ethical and responsible behavior is always wise. There is no joy or point to scaring a wild animal to death, chasing it, and then killing it in cold blood.
Animals and their habitats were put on earth to be enjoyed by us, support our lives and to be lived with in harmony. You must therefore raise an animal for food, be good to it, and mourn its loss when you have to eat it. This surely would prevent gluttony would it not?
Next, you can’t have intercourse with someone then move on to another, and another and leave a trail of broken hearts behind you before you get married and decide to do this to your wife.
You can’t rape someone, spoil someone’s reputation on the basis of sexual slander, you can’t use someone’s religious background as an excuse to rape or marry or slander their good reputation.
In both declarations of lawful behavior, which are rather easy to understand and comply to. You can eat when you are hungry, you can screw what is available, but do not take what does not belong to you or is cannot earned by legal means.

12/26/2023 DAB Transcript
Zechariah 9:1-17, Revelations 17:1-18, Psalm 145:1-21, Proverbs 30:32
Today is the 26th day of December, welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian. It is great to be here with you today, probably overly full bellies from yesterday. Trying to figure out what happened to our systems. Big day of like exchanging things. Oh, after holiday sales and all of that. So, well, welcome to the post-Christmas festivities here around the Global Campfire, it's always kind of the same. It's a peaceful place, God's word is spoken here, straight from the Scriptures. No matter what's going on in our lives, we can come in here and be here together. There's no time that anybody is listening alone, and we have this place to re-center ourselves in the word of God and be oriented to God through his word, so that we know how to live our lives. And so, let's take that next step, post-Christmas step, that leads us back into the book of Zechariah. Today we’ll read Zechariah chapter 9.
Commentary:
Okay, so, it's the day after Christmas, right, so a lot of laying around but then a lot of also, I don’t know, visiting people are still around or just feeling tired from all of it. Maybe exhausted. It's been an exhausting month. We’ll have leftovers today. Maybe exchange some gifts. Maybe today's the day that family leaves and heads back to whatever state they're going to, or maybe today's the day you leave and you’re on your way back. But it's today, like Christmas comes and then boom it's over and our hearts start slowing moving away from the Christmas season and we start focusing on what's to come. Slowly move away from what was and looking forward to the New Year. And what we just read in the book of Proverbs today, offered us wise counsel that it must inform us as we move forward. If you have acted like a fool by exalting yourself or if you've been scheming, put your hand over your mouth. So, no matter how we have conducted ourselves over the last couple of days, it's not likely that we haven't exhibited or encountered pride. We notice this in the overinflated versions of ourselves that we portray, that kind of curated versions that get put out there online. In fact, the last couple days, we've been around a lot of people probably that we’re not always around and maybe we've endured hours of conversation with people that we love that just compare themselves to everything: gifts, careers, spouses, kids, choices. Maybe we’ve made people that we love endure hours of us doing that kind of posturing. Proverbs is saying hey, why don’t you try this other path. Why don’t you shut your mouth. Why don’t you put your hand over your mouth. That's ancient wisdom from thousands of years ago, so this has been going on for thousands of years among the human race. And it can seem harsh at first, put your hand over your mouth, but it's freeing. We’re being given permission that we don't have to do the game, we don't have to play the comparison game, we don't have to play the gossip and slander game. According Proverbs, that only makes us look like a fool and we don't have to do it. We can…we can bite our tongue and leave those prideful words inside. They don't need to be born into the world, we’re allowed to be who we are and we’re allowed to do that honestly. And that doesn't have to be gained by comparison. We don’t have to go into this new year false. The word for next year is truth. Not only to explore the truth of the Scriptures, but to actually walk with the mirror in front of our face and see just how much false that we allow. We don’t have to go into the New Year false. We’ve been given permission to be true. We don't have to go into the new year falsely inflated. I mean, we’re probably going into the New Year wanting to lose a few pounds. Maybe we can lose a little pride and a little arrogance while we’re losing a few pounds. We’ve learned all year that our identity can only be found by embracing the long-suffering mercy of God. And we’re nothing compared to that. But compared to each other, there is no comparison, we’re children of God. We don’t have to pose. We don't have to hide. We don’t have to curate. We don’t have to present this image of spirituality in ourselves, it’s like what we hope to be, but it's not what we are. It's foolishness, it won't get us anywhere. We’re wearing a mask, it's not true. Let’s be true and grow in maturity and be who we are. When we were reading through Paul's letters, he told us that we are all invited to reflect the glory of the Lord upon the earth. Think about that. We get to be ourselves and be true with nothing to hide as we reflect the glory of the Lord upon the earth. Hey, that's a good New Year's resolution. Let's write that one down for the New Year and let's live into it.
Prayer:
And Holy Spirit, come into that we pray, lead us into all truth, lead us away from what is false, not only the things that we need to avoid, but the things that are within us that need to not be there. Holy Spirit come, lead us forward in all truth as we humble ourselves before You and pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer and Encouragements:
Hi siblings, this is He Knows My Name. And I’m calling to pray for Manita’s son, Lucas who had an accident at work and he’s now, according to the doctors, blind. Father in Heaven, I wish to commit him to Your hands. Your son Lucas, Father, he was not born blind. Father, You give sight to the blind. You make the lame to walk. You make the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak. Nothing is too difficult for You to do. And Lord, You are more than able. I pray, oh Father God, You will please restore the sight of Lucas to the glory of Your most Holy name. Father, please work Your miracle in his life. Oh Lord, will You stand in the congregation of Your truth and You testify of Your goodness, oh Father. May You please meet me him at this point of need. Wherever else he feels pain or discomfort, Father, may You take the pain away. May You provide the finances that is needed. That he would receive the proper medical attention that he deserves. Pray oh Lord, that You will use him as a point of contact to reach out to every other person out there that has one or one kind of deformity or another due to accident, due to sickness or anything, anything at all Father. Will You stretch Your hands over them. May You heal them, oh Lord, from head to toe. And make them whole, oh Father, as You make whole, the son who came back to tell You thank You. It will come back to glorify Your name, to thank You, to testify to Your most holy name. The wonderful works, oh Father. May You make him whole. In Jesus mighty name. I’ve prayed with thanksgiving and adoration. Amen. He is healed in the mighty name of Jesus. He will see again. Thank you.
Good morning, DAB. My name’s Andrea. I’ve called in a few times for my son and his friend Ethan. But I need prayers. I just got a bad report from a doctor. I had a couple of ultrasounds to try and figure out what was going on in my abdomen. And I was blindsided by the information. I’m not gonna name it, cause I’m not claiming this. But I would appreciate any sort of prayers for complete healing for my body. I will be going to an OB/GYN soon to find out if there is a course of action here. But I’m standing on God’s word that I’m healed by the blood of Jesus. But I’m asking for prayers. I’m also asking for continued prayers for my daughter, Reign. That she would come home to Jesus. And I pray for everyone here. And I hope everybody has a really good holiday. And may God bless you and keep you. Thank you.
Hello, this is Dabs from Hampshire in the UK. And this prayer message is for Susan, God’s Yellow Flower and her son Keith. I just wanna pray for you both. Dear Lord Jesus, we pray that You will be with Keith and his mum, Susan, over these coming days and weeks. With this return of the cancer. Lord Jesus, we pray that You will give both Susan and Keith a renewed sense of peace. A renewed sense of strength and courage, knowing that You’ve been with them throughout this journey that Keith has been on. And that You will continue to be right by their side each and every day. And I pray Lord, for complete healing. Healing over Keith, we pray. I just pray Lord, that You will be with them both over Christmas. And You will just give them a sense of peace. Sending much love and prayers. Bye bye.
Hello my DAB family, this is Mark Street from Sydney, Australia. Today is Friday, the 23rd of December. And just wanting to call in and pray for Susan, God’s Yellow Flower and Keith, her son. Susan, I just want to pray for you. I don’t have any words of wisdom but I just want to pray for you. Dear Heavenly Father, You’re a parent to all of us. We know that You hurt so much when we fall away. So, we lift up Susan and Keith to You, Lord. She is hurting so much for her son Lord, and You know that _ Lord. Lord, Your way is the best way. Lord, heal Keith again and bring him back _. ___But Lord we do know, that Your will is best. Lord, comfort Susan. Let this be a wonderful season for Susan and Keith and her family. That they will feel your love. Bring them a happy season, a prosperous season for health, as well, Lord. In Your name, I pray. Susan, I know I’m one of many, but I ____Love you all.

Crosswalk The Devotional 22nd November – The Essence of Thankfulness.
Tumblr media
TOPIC: The Essence of Thankfulness. SCRIPTURE: Philippians 3:7 NLT I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. By Meg Bucher The mint green box with flowers on it collects all of the dust bunnies under the bed. Its contents hold the memories of a season of life. We attach sentiment to things on this earth. Things become especially meaningful to us when they symbolize something much greater than the craving for the physical object. It’s sad to box up a season of life once treasured.  Paul wrote to the Philippians about the true value of things. The Greek translation for things is hostis, and the word is defined as “whoever, whatever, who.” One of the definitions for things in the English language is “anything that is or may become an object of thought.” Our earthly selves love to be loved, and comfortable. We love the assurance someone will never leave us, and slowly forget there is only One who never will. “When Paul speaks of these things, he is referring to his credentials, credits, and successes,” the NLT Bible notes explain, “After showing that he could beat the Judaizers at their own game (being proud of who they were and what they had done), Paul shows that it is the wrong game. Be careful of considering your position or past achievements so important that they get in the way of your relationships with Christ.” Add to achievements our relationships and how tempting it is to hold people to standards in this life they can never fulfill for us. Paul continued to write: “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” Philippians 3:8 NLT Christ Jesus is the only One who can fill the gaps in our human hearts, which automatically ache for assurance, comfort, and companionship. Everything, and everyone, will fail to fulfill this desire in our lives because our hearts were created to crave Him. “Gaining Christ is described in three ways:” The Moody Bible Commentary explains, “first, it is found in Him …second, it is not having one’s own righteousness …third, it is having the righteousness which comes through faith in Christ.”  The author of Hebrews reminds us, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1 NLT.)  Paul wrote to the Romans: “For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed- a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’” Romans 11:17 NLT The desire to put our hope in whoever or whatever ends up in a box collecting the dust bunnies under our beds. Our souls were created to put our hope in one person: Christ Jesus. Through Him, we come to the Father. In Him, we find peace, joy, love, and purpose. By His death, we get to live ours to the full here on earth and eternally with Him in heaven. Paul continued: “For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.” - Philippians 3:8b-9 NLT Intersecting Faith and Life: Faith isn’t an object we own or the level we achieve in life. Faith is a living and breathing part of who we are, constantly being molded into the image of Christ Jesus as we follow Him through our daily lives. Paul’s letter continued:  “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!” Philippians 3:10-11 NLT  Though it seems some seasons in our lives are unrelatably painful, Christ gets it. The box of memories collecting dust bunnies means something to Him because it means something to us. God does not meet us with a pep-talk; he meets us with compassion. He says, “let’s go through this box together …bring it to me.” He sees us, He knows us, and He longs to comfort us in the times we need to remember most …whoever or whatever is nothing in comparison to the complete peace, restoration, love, and joy we experience in Christ Jesus. Nothing …nothing …compares to who He is.  Father, You are so faithful. Every day, Your mercies are new. Great is Your faithfulness! We can be sad, and we can cry out to You, God. Thank You for who You are. Your compassion saves our lives over and over again. We confess our misplacement of people and things in our lives. We confess our focus on achieving over abiding in You. We love You with our whole hearts. Help us to understand how to grow in our love for You. Let it overflow out of our lives and onto everyone around us, Father. Meg writes about everyday life within the love of Christ at Joy Overflowing and Sunny&80. She is the author of “Friends with Everyone, Friendship within the Love of Christ,” “Surface, Unlocking the Gift of Sensitivity,” “Glory Up, The Everyday Pursuit of Praise,” “Home, Finding Our Identity in Christ,” and "Sent, Faith in Motion." Meg earned a Marketing/PR degree from Ashland University but stepped out of the business world to stay home and raise her two daughters …which led her to pursue her writing passion. @kaal-naagin This is a classic case of a non dharmic person trying to "translate" or write about dharmic theories in a language that lacks vocabulary and phonetic distinction to match the level of philosophy and metaphysics being conveyed in Sanskrit or other classical bharatiya languages i.e Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malyalam, Odia. I am actually glad to have come across this because now I have a very clear piece of evidence regarding how non dharmic folks with their half baked knowledge of broken lores felt entitled enough to share their opinions as if they are facts.
Any practising hindu knows the story of why Mahadev is lying under Ma Kaali's feet. He is Shiva. The eternal. He does not "die" the very same way he is not "born". What a disgusting interpretation of a very poignant symbol. Every practising hindu knows that Ma Kaali (माँ काली) is entirely different and unrelated to Kali (कलि) of the Kaliyuga.
[Notice how the difference is obvious when written in devnagri but not much different when written in the roman script?] This is how almost all our scriptures including the Vedas have been "translated" and "interpreted" throughout the colonial era and after. This is how the likes of Zakir Naik misquote the already mistranslated verses and mislead people. I feel sick to the core. Our language was taken away from us by shutting down every gurukul they could find. Sanskrit speakers massacred. Then they with their half baked truths and lies translated our texts to English. Forced upon us to speak and be fluent in it. And now for an average hindu youth- the only way to learn of their religious text is to do so throught their corrupted translations and commentaries in a foreign language. What a shame that the only way i can convey my contempt is through the coloniser's language.
When one is swayed against dharma after reading enough of the corrupted literature thats when they present to you their "light" and "saviour". Its a sick game. Sickening to the core.
