I very rarely think about storylines for royjamie after richmond (because it breaks my heart a little to think of anyone of the team leaving) but like it's possible that jamie would choose to stay with richmond his whole career, it's also possible that the people at richmond itself would push for him to play for *insert the name of whatever other european football team is considered the best* and he becomes a proper super star, being invited for fancy events and shit.

(In a made up world where Ted stayed in London) Roy and Jamie got together while at richmond and now Roy travels with him everywhere as his own personal coach / PA / secret boyfriend / man behind the camera of every instagram post / personal grumpy cat / number one fan / emotional support teddy bear / personal chef etc He loves being with him 24/7 and finds it fulfilling to still be involved with football and helping someone be the best they can be but without the added pressure of having to constantly step outside his comfort zone that he'd have experienced being a manager to a whole team (he's doing good with being vulnerable with Jamie, he can do it with one person that he loves and he is still going to therapy for himself to work through his own trauma/CEN/grief and is focusing on learning to be in his skin as a human being and not this fucked up idea of masculinity he's got in his head) And Roy has a private instagram account under a random username where he follows and is followed only by the richmond team/coaches/Rebecca/Higgins + Keely + Georgie & Simon + his sister and he only uses it to post pictures of food, nature, weird shit he finds in the cities they visit, and his fit boyfriend. Since it's friends only he does use captions ("the muppet had a late night last night" with a picture of Jamie asleep on the floor) and all the himbos love to comment, especially Dani's "Sexy muchachos #JOY" under every single picture.

Bleeding heck, who the fuck are the Arctic Monkeys?

After 19 years on repeat it's now 2024. Myself and @conor_bloodfilms are travelling back from Paris.

We arrive at Gare Du Nord and Duffy stops in his tracks. He whispers to me "I think that's Alex Turner."

"F**k off!" | immediately reply. I gaze over at a guy wearing a leather jacket with long brown hair, his face adorned with aviators. We should probably stop staring as it's getting weird, sexually and aggressively weird.

Turns out it is bloody Alex Turner, the man who's provided the soundtrack to my life! He strolls past and disappears into the Parisian platform crowd. A missed opportunity.

We board our train back to London. We look to our left and there's Alex. Sitting in his seat accompanied by a notepad. He's probably writing the next Arctic Monkeys hit "Two gawping pricks on a train". We really need to stop staring.

I tell Duffers I'm going in, he stops me. Reminds me that I'm a fully functioning adult and not to create a scene. Christ, he's right! I feel like I'm 15 years old again, someone get me a Strongbow and whack Dancing Shoes on, kin hell lad!

Eventually myself and Con engage, it's a surreal experience. Alex is polite and returns conversation in a soft friendly manner. The whole situation is just bloody lovely.

I awkwardly ask if I can take his portrait, fully aware that it could result in an awkward exchange and destroy this wonderful moment. He smiles and obliges, he's effortlessly cool, asks for direction and I take a few snaps.

We disembark the train, I felt quite emotional and that's embarrassing to admit. Maybe it was the jet lag, the caffeine and croissant overload? Or maybe it was just the rekindling of my youth.

This all might sound trivial, however, for me these portraits are deeply personal serving a reminder that life is a series of fortunate events and when fully appreciated can conjure up some pretty awesome memories.

not to be about opera again but to be about opera again. as an art form it has the reputation of being super stuffy and something for snobs who don't know how to have fun only but honestly this was one of, perhaps even THE main theatrical entertainment for centuries. i wish people knew how hard these things can go and how engaging they can be. like characters kill and die and fight wars and (almost) commit human sacrifice left and right. characters fall in love they mourn they're ecstatic they cry they're furious it's an extremely dramatic and emotional art form! and i understand that opera does not appear approachable bc of the general conventions of the art form but i promise old works can be fun and engaging if you go watch them with some preparation beforehand (reading the libretto helps) - not to mention not all operas are old bc there are so many modern operas which engage with topical events! also the music slaps.

okay i’m sure this is something that’s been talked about a lot and i want to share some thoughts i’ve been having recently

why don’t all bathroom stalls have support bars in them?

i’m not physically disabled, but i follow a lot of online creators who are (because the neurodivergent and disabled communities often overlap, but also because i want to understand perspectives different than my own) so i do my best to keep accessibility issues in mind when i notice them (like when a building doesn’t have a functional elevator or automatic doors)

that said, i am in no way qualified to speak on topics specific to physical disabilities, so if any of y’all are and would like to contribute, please do!!

i am currently in a boot for a sprained ankle, and it’s become significantly more difficult to stand up from a seated position. like, for example, in the bathroom. it’s not impossible, but it’s difficult to do without some kind of support. so when i’m in a stall with support bars, i’ve been using them.

and it just made me start thinking. support beams are such a simple accommodation. they don’t take up much space. i don’t imagine they’re terribly difficult to install.

i currently need a little bit of support to stand up, for a month or so. many people need a lot more support to stand up, for their entire lives. why aren’t these bars more common?

or honestly, even better, just make more accessible stalls. i still don’t understand why so many bathrooms (some with 10-15 stalls) only have one accessible stall. i don’t personally need the space of an accessible stall, even with my boot, but i still think we should still have more than we do.

again, i’m not physically disabled, so if i’ve misphrased, misunderstood, or overlooked anything, please let me know! i want to hear other people’s perspectives on this, because i’m just one person and there are a lot of things i don’t understand

You lived in Los Angeles between 2015 and 2019. Did you need to come back to England to find inspiration?

There is one of that. I had a lot of fun in L.A. I lived next to Alex Turner's house with whom I formed The Last Shadow Puppets. But after a while, my friends, my management my musicians I missed all this... even the rain (he laughs)! I felt lost. Not without laughing, I think I missed the special atmosphere and 'British pop' as I practice it and I needed to come back to London to recharge my batteries.

Alex Turner of the Artic Monkeys still lives there?

He is smarter: he is always between London and Los Angeles... (laughs)

And is something soon planned with him within The Last Shadow Puppets?

Not immediately, because I am very busy with the promotion of my new album and Alex by the Artic Monkeys world tour.
