peak desi experience : recently came across Jude Bellingham and as if on queue, did all my research about Real Madrid and Jude and told my parents that I probably have a new celebrity crush.
They went like "Shubman Gill kam tha ki ab Spain wala bhi lana hai?"
Help, they don't even know Jude is British.

Not to sound corny but the power of this image is unmatched. Never thought I would live to see this day of East Bengal and Mohan Bagan unity.

The question of who is the greatest cricketer of all time has been a perennial debate among fans and pundits alike. While the answer is often subjective and influenced by personal biases, there are several players who have consistently dominated the sport and made a strong case for the title. Let's explore some of the contenders and the factors that contribute to their greatness.
The Modern Era Dominators: Kohli, Smith, and Kane Williamson

The past decade has witnessed the rise of three exceptional talents who have redefined the standards of batting. Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson have consistently produced match-winning performances across all formats, solidifying their status as the modern era's premier batsmen.

♯2. Steve Smith: The Australian's unorthodox technique and his ability to score runs at will have made him a force to be reckoned with. Smith's consistency and his ability to perform under pressure have earned him widespread admiration.
♯3. Kane Williamson: The New Zealand captain's elegant strokeplay and his calm demeanor have made him a joy to watch. Williamson's ability to anchor the innings and his match-winning performances have solidified his reputation as one of the best batsmen in the world.

I know most if yall have probably not heard of him but Sunil Chhetri is an Indian football legend who announced his retirement at the age of 39. He is the fourth highest goalscorer internationally after the likes of Messi and Ronaldo!!
I can't begin to describe all the impact Sunil has had on Indian football. His constant avocation for the Indian audience to support the national team and uplift the sport as a whole on a national level has been revolutionary. He gave everything to his career for 19 years, and watching him play has been nothing short of a once in a lifetime experience.
Thank you for everything 🫶🏽

I’m only into football for my Scottish friends when they’re clearly enjoying an English team in agony. I’m only into football when my Welsh friends are experiencing untold euphoria seeing Wales qualify for their first major international tournament since 1958 (Euro 16). I’m only into football when I’m arm-in-arm with Canadian MNT fans in tears watching a team and community build around us in realtime. I’m a football fan when I’m on a plane back from New York watching a sea of red jerseys say, we never had a chance against Argentina, but I admire the way they hung on (Copa 24). I am into football when we see decades of advocacy finally give women a half shot at equal footing and create fans out of little girls and heroes out of the women on the field. I am only a football fan in the way Carlos O’Connell went on telly in the UK wearing his native España jersey the day after England lost the Euros. Icon and legend.

One thing I think can be severely misunderstood about why an area is a centre of excellence, importance, or power within a sport is that geography, and probably population density, seems to play as much of a role as monetary input.
Eurocentrism in football/soccer, South Asian administrative dominance in cricket, the Rugby League powers of England and Australia, and Rugby Union's Northern Hemisphere powers didn't just come about by accident, the proximity of each to each other or another sport plays a massive role.
It's already pretty much codified that the majority of the winning power in football is concentrated in Western Europe, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands are eminent in that regard. If money was the reason, then England would be much more prominent over a number of years, but it's to do with the proximity to each other and the transfer of knowledge between clubs, coaches, players, and countries.
Hell, Joachim Low credited learning different principles from other countries for Germany's World Cup triumph.
In much the same way, there's a chance that Italy's relative isolation from the rest of the 6 Nations contenders contribute somewhat to their more recent struggles in the tournament, though the RFU's stupid 'players based in England' selection policy effectively achieves the same ends at the player level. Both rugby codes, mainly in England and Australia, benefit from the fact that they are so close to each other, so code switching can and does happen. Australia, in particular, can have players move between Aussie Rules as well as the two rugby codes.
India's eminence in cricket administration is also down to a network of information they've constructed in South Asia, with other full members of the ICC in Asia benefiting from an admittedly lopsided knowledge and facility sharing dynamic. (Again, the English are morons because there's the capability of England doing something similar in Europe and helping to improve countries here, damn you ECB)
That's not to say that sports can't thrive in a more isolated or individual sense. American football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey are all massively popular with a much more limited reach, in terms of the share of the best players around the world.
But at the end of the day, breaking the hold that a region or countries have over a sport is about much more than money and players. The fact that Europe still holds the majority of the power in football is down to much more than the billions or trillions of pounds and euros invested into teams.

THIS IS BULLSHIT:
Tumblr media
Yeah sure, just a cherry on a dung cake lol.
Diversity doesn't mean shit to anybody in this country, just a decoration to be discarded whenever seen fit.
A Sikh will be mocked as a Khalistani
A Muslim will be called a Jihadi terrorist
A Christian, and especially if he's from the North East? You're an exotic species brooo!
And it doesn't even matter if you're a Hindu, 'cause a Nepali will just be a 'chinki minki' to these North Indians (the people who constitute majority in our nation, not saying everyone is like that but you can't deny that most cases of racial or communal discrimination and bullying happens in North India or by North Indians).
Oh and I'm not making this up. It's stuff I've seen in my own college, which is supposed to be relatively better in terms of anti-bullying regulations. I wonder how people-of-diverse-backgrounds survive in other colleges.
Honestly, our generation is far worse than our parents or grandparents. At least, even if they disliked other communities, they had the decency to shut up and keep their thoughts to themselves and not go around bullying others.
And don't go in the comments starting a rant about political parties. They are just a face of what the people want and I doubt the people (or at least the majority population) wants peace or diversity. They only use it when they need to subdue the others or show a front in front of foreigners calling India a 'unity in diversity' or whatever. Then they go home and tell their kids to bitch about Bengalis or mock Marathis.
Can we just see people as people and stop picking out everyone for their religion or ethnicity? Or the least u can do is let people just live and mind your own fcking business...
